Lamentations / 哀歌
1:1 ああ、むかしは、民の満ちみちていたこの都、国々の民のうちで大いなる者であったこの町、今は寂しいさまで座し、やもめのようになった。もろもろの町のうちで女王であった者、今は奴隷となった。
1:1 How does the city sit solitary, that was full of people! how is she become as a widow! she that was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how is she become tributary!
1:2 これは夜もすがらいたく泣き悲しみ、そのほおには涙が流れている。そのすべての愛する者のうちには、これを慰める者はひとりもなく、そのすべての友はこれにそむいて、その敵となった。
1:2 She weeps sore in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks: among all her lovers she has none to comfort her: all her friends have dealt treacherously with her, they are become her enemies.
1:3 ユダは悩みのゆえに、また激しい苦役のゆえに、のがれて行って、もろもろの国民のうちに住んでいるが、安息を得ず、これを追う者がみな追いついてみると、悩みのうちにあった。
1:3 Judah is gone into captivity because of affliction, and because of great servitude: she dwells among the heathen, she finds no rest: all her persecutors overtook her between the straits.
1:4 シオンの道は祭に上ってくる者のないために悲しみ、その門はことごとく荒れ、その祭司たちは嘆き、そのおとめたちは引かれて行き、シオンはみずからいたく苦しむ。
1:4 The ways of Zion do mourn, because none come to the solemn feasts: all her gates are desolate: her priests sigh, her virgins are afflicted, and she is in bitterness.
1:5 そのあだはかしらとなり、その敵は栄えている。そのとがが多いので、主がこれを悩まされたからである。その幼な子たちは捕われて、あだの前に行った。
1:5 Her adversaries are the chief, her enemies prosper; for the LORD has afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions: her children are gone into captivity before the enemy.
1:6 シオンの娘の栄華はことごとく彼女を離れ去り、その君たちは牧草を得ない、しかのようになり、自分を追う者の前に力なく逃げ去った。
1:6 And from the daughter of Zion all her beauty is departed: her princes are become like harts that find no pasture, and they are gone without strength before the pursuer.
1:7 エルサレムはその悩みと苦しみの日に、昔から持っていたもろもろの宝を思い出す。その民があだの手に陥り、だれもこれを助ける者のない時、あだはこれを見て、その滅びをあざ笑った。
1:7 Jerusalem remembered in the days of her affliction and of her miseries all her pleasant things that she had in the days of old, when her people fell into the hand of the enemy, and none did help her: the adversaries saw her, and did mock at her sabbaths.
1:8 エルサレムは、はなはだしく罪を犯したので、汚れたものとなった。これを尊んだ者も皆その裸を見たので、これを卑しめる。これもまたみずから嘆き、顔をそむける。
1:8 Jerusalem has grievously sinned; therefore she is removed: all that honoured her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness: yea, she sighs, and turns backward.
1:9 その汚れはその衣のすそにあり、これはその終りを思わなかった。それゆえ、これは驚くばかりに落ちぶれ、これを慰める者はひとりもない。「主よ、わが悩みを顧みてください、敵は勝ち誇っていますから」。
1:9 Her filthiness is in her skirts; she remembers not her last end; therefore she came down wonderfully: she had no comforter. O LORD, behold my affliction: for the enemy has magnified himself.
1:10 敵は手を伸べて、その財宝をことごとく奪った。あなたがさきに異邦人らはあなたの公会に、はいってはならないと命じられたのに、彼らがその聖所にはいるのをシオンは見た。
1:10 The adversary has spread out his hand upon all her pleasant things: for she has seen that the heathen entered into her sanctuary, whom you did command that they should not enter into your congregation.
1:11 その民はみな嘆いて食物を求め、その命をささえるために、財宝を食物にかえた。「主よ、みそなわして、わたしの卑しめられるのを顧みてください」。
1:11 All her people sigh, they seek bread; they have given their pleasant things for food to relieve the soul: see, O LORD, and consider; for I am become vile.
1:12 「すべて道行く人よ、あなたがたはなんとも思わないのか。主がその激しい怒りの日にわたしを悩まして、わたしにくだされた苦しみのような苦しみが、また世にあるだろうか、尋ねて見よ。
1:12 Is it nothing to you, all you that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD has afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.
1:13 主は上から火を送り、それをわが骨にくだし、網を張ってわが足を捕え、わたしを引き返させ、ひねもす心わびしく、かつ病み衰えさせられた。
1:13 From above has he sent fire into my bones, and it prevails against them: he has spread a net for my feet, he has turned me back: he has made me desolate and faint all the day.
1:14 わたしのとがは、つかねられて、一つのくびきとせられ、主のみ手により固く締められて、わたしの首におかれ、わたしの力を衰えさせられた。主はわたしを、立ちむかい得ざる者の手に渡された。
1:14 The yoke of my transgressions is bound by his hand: they are wreathed, and come up upon my neck: he has made my strength to fall, the LORD has delivered me into their hands, from whom I am not able to rise up.
1:15 主はわたしのうちにあるすべての勇士を無視し、聖会を召集して、わたしを攻め、わが若き人々を打ち滅ぼされた。主は酒ぶねを踏むように、ユダの娘なるおとめを踏みつけられた。
1:15 The LORD has trodden under foot all my mighty men in the midst of me: he has called an assembly against me to crush my young men: the LORD has trodden the virgin, the daughter of Judah, as in a winepress.
1:16 このために、わたしは泣き悲しみ、わたしの目は涙であふれる。わたしを慰める者、わたしを勇気づける者が／わたしから遠く離れたからである。わが子らは敵が勝ったために、わびしい者となった」。
1:16 For these things I weep; mine eye, mine eye runs down with water, because the comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me: my children are desolate, because the enemy prevailed.
1:17 シオンは手を伸ばしても、これを慰める者はひとりもない。ヤコブについては、主は命じて、その周囲の者を、これがあだとせられた。エルサレムは彼らの中にあって、汚れた物のようになった。
1:17 Zion spreads forth her hands, and there is none to comfort her: the LORD has commanded concerning Jacob, that his adversaries should be round about him: Jerusalem is as a menstruous woman among them.
1:18 「主は正しい、わたしは、み言葉にそむいた。すべての民よ、聞け、わが苦しみを顧みよ。わがおとめらも、わが若人らも捕われて行った。
1:18 The LORD is righteous; for I have rebelled against his commandment: hear, I pray you, all people, and behold my sorrow: my virgins and my young men are gone into captivity.
1:19 わたしはわが愛する者を呼んだが、彼らはわたしを欺いた。わが祭司および長老たちは、その命をささえようと、食物を求めている間に、町のうちで息絶えた。
1:19 I called for my lovers, but they deceived me: my priests and mine elders gave up the spirit in the city, while they sought their food to relieve their souls.
1:20 主よ、顧みてください、わたしは悩み、わがはらわたはわきかえり、わが心臓はわたしの内に転倒しています。わたしは、はなはだしくそむいたからです。外にはつるぎがあって、わが子を奪い、家の内には死のようなものがある。
1:20 Behold, O LORD; for I am in distress: my bowels are troubled; mine heart is turned within me; for I have grievously rebelled: abroad the sword bereaves, at home there is as death.
1:21 わたしがどんなに嘆くかを聞いてください。わたしを慰める者はひとりもなく、敵はみなわたしの悩みを聞いて、あなたがこれをなされたのを喜んだ。あなたがさきに告げ知らせたその日をきたらせ、彼らをも、わたしのようにしてください。
1:21 They have heard that I sigh: there is none to comfort me: all mine enemies have heard of my trouble; they are glad that you have done it: you will bring the day that you have called, and they shall be like unto me.
1:22 彼らの悪をことごとくあなたの前にあらわし、さきにわがもろもろのとがのために、わたしに行われたように、彼らにも行ってください。わが嘆きは多く、わが心は弱りはてているからです」。
1:22 Let all their wickedness come before you; and do unto them, as you have done unto me for all my transgressions: for my sighs are many, and my heart is faint.
2:1 ああ、主は怒りを起し、黒雲をもってシオンの娘をおおわれた。主はイスラエルの栄光を天から地に投げ落し、その怒りの日に、おのれの足台を心にとめられなかった。
2:1 How has the LORD covered the daughter of Zion with a cloud in his anger, and cast down from heaven unto the earth the beauty of Israel, and remembered not his footstool in the day of his anger!
2:2 主はヤコブのすべてのすまいを／滅ぼして、あわれまず、その怒りによって、ユダの娘のとりでをこわし、これを地に倒して、その国とそのつかさたちをはずかしめられた。
2:2 The LORD has swallowed up all the habitations of Jacob, and has not pitied: he has thrown down in his wrath the strong holds of the daughter of Judah; he has brought them down to the ground: he has polluted the kingdom and the princes thereof.
2:3 主は激しい怒りをもって、イスラエルのすべての力を断ち、敵の前で、おのれの右の手を引きもどし、周囲を焼きつくす燃える火のように、ヤコブを焼かれた。
2:3 He has cut off in his fierce anger all the horn of Israel: he has drawn back his right hand from before the enemy, and he burned against Jacob like a flaming fire, which devours round about.
2:4 主は敵のように弓を張り、あだのように右の手を伸べて立ち、シオンの娘の天幕におるわれわれの目に誇る者を、ことごとく殺し、火のようにその怒りを注がれた。
2:4 He has bent his bow like an enemy: he stood with his right hand as an adversary, and slew all that were pleasant to the eye in the tabernacle of the daughter of Zion: he poured out his fury like fire.
2:5 主は敵のようになって、イスラエルを滅ぼし、そのすべての宮殿を滅ぼし、そのとりでをこわし、ユダの娘の上に憂いと悲しみとを増し加えられた。
2:5 The LORD was as an enemy: he has swallowed up Israel, he has swallowed up all her palaces: he has destroyed his strong holds, and has increased in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation.
2:6 主は園の小屋のようにおのれの幕屋を倒し、その祭の場所をこわされた。主は祭と安息日とをシオンに忘れさせ、激しい怒りによって、王と祭司とを捨てられた。
2:6 And he has violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden: he has destroyed his places of the assembly: the LORD has caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion, and has despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest.
2:7 主はその祭壇を忌み、その聖所をきらって、もろもろの宮殿の石がきを敵の手に渡された。彼らは祭の日のように、主の宮で声をあげた。
2:7 The LORD has cast off his altar, he has abhorred his sanctuary, he has given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have made a noise in the house of the LORD, as in the day of a solemn feast.
2:8 主はシオンの娘の城壁を破壊しようと／思い定めて、なわを張り、打ちこわして、その手をひかず、城壁と石がきとを悲しませられた。これらは共に衰える。
2:8 The LORD has purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion: he has stretched out a line, he has not withdrawn his hand from destroying: therefore he made the rampart and the wall to lament; they languished together.
2:9 その門は地にうずもれ、主はその貫の木をこわし砕かれた。その王と君たちはもろもろの国民の中におり、もはや律法はなく、またその預言者は主から幻を得ない。
2:9 Her gates are sunk into the ground; he has destroyed and broken her bars: her king and her princes are among the Gentiles: the law is no more; her prophets also find no vision from the LORD.
2:10 シオンの娘の長老たちは地に座して黙し、頭にちりをかぶり、身に荒布をまとった。エルサレムのおとめたちはこうべを地にたれた。
2:10 The elders of the daughter of Zion sit upon the ground, and keep silence: they have cast up dust upon their heads; they have girded themselves with sackcloth: the virgins of Jerusalem hang down their heads to the ground.
2:11 わが目は涙のためにつぶれ、わがはらわたはわきかえり、わが肝はわが民の娘の滅びのために、地に注ぎ出される。幼な子や乳のみ子が町のちまたに／息も絶えようとしているからである。
2:11 Mine eyes do fail with tears, my bowels are troubled, my liver is poured upon the earth, for the destruction of the daughter of my people; because the children and the infants swoon in the streets of the city.
2:12 彼らが、傷ついた者のように町のちまたで／息も絶えようとするとき、その母のふところにその命を注ぎ出そうとするとき、母にむかって、「パンとぶどう酒とは／どこにありますか」と叫ぶ。
2:12 They say to their mothers, Where is corn and wine? when they swooned as the wounded in the streets of the city, when their soul was poured out into their mothers' bosom.
2:13 エルサレムの娘よ、わたしは何をあなたに言い、何にあなたを比べることができようか。シオンの娘なるおとめよ、わたしは何をもってあなたになぞらえて、あなたを慰めることができようか。あなたの破れは海のように大きい、だれがあなたをいやすことができようか。
2:13 What thing shall I take to witness for you? what thing shall I liken to you, O daughter of Jerusalem? what shall I equal to you, that I may comfort you, O virgin daughter of Zion? for your breach is great like the sea: who can heal you?
2:14 あなたの預言者たちはあなたのために／人を欺く偽りの幻を見た。彼らはあなたの不義をあらわして／捕われを免れさせようとはせず、あなたのために人を迷わす偽りの託宣を見た。
2:14 Your prophets have seen vain and foolish things for you: and they have not discovered yours iniquity, to turn away your captivity; but have seen for you false burdens and causes of banishment.
2:15 すべて道行く人は、あなたにむかって手を打ち、エルサレムの娘にむかって、あざ笑い、かつ頭を振って言う、「麗しさのきわみ、全地の喜びと／となえられた町はこれなのか」と。
2:15 All that pass by clap their hands at you; they hiss and shake their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city that men call The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth?
2:16 あなたのもろもろの敵は、あなたをののしり、あざ笑い、歯がみして言う、「われわれはこれを滅ぼした、ああ、これはわれわれが望んだ日だ、今われわれはこれにあい、これを見た」と。
2:16 All yours enemies have opened their mouth against you: they hiss and gnash the teeth: they say, We have swallowed her up: certainly this is the day that we looked for; we have found, we have seen it.
2:17 主はその計画されたことを行い、警告されたことをなし遂げ、いにしえから命じておかれたように、滅ぼして、あわれむことをせず、あなたについて敵を喜ばせ、あなたのあだの力を高められた。
2:17 The LORD has done that which he had devised; he has fulfilled his word that he had commanded in the days of old: he has thrown down, and has not pitied: and he has caused yours enemy to rejoice over you, he has set up the horn of yours adversaries.
2:18 シオンの娘よ、声高らかに主に呼ばわれ、夜も昼も川のように涙を流せ。みずから安んじることをせず、あなたのひとみを休ませるな。
2:18 Their heart cried unto the LORD, O wall of the daughter of Zion, let tears run down like a river day and night: give yourself no rest; let not the apple of yours eye cease.
2:19 夜、初更に起きて叫べ。主の前にあなたの心を水のように注ぎ出せ。町のかどで、飢えて／息も絶えようとする幼な子の命のために、主にむかって両手をあげよ。
2:19 Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out yours heart like water before the face of the LORD: lift up your hands toward him for the life of your young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.
2:20 主よ、みそなわして、顧みてください。あなたはだれにむかって／このように行われたのですか。女は自分の産んだ子、その大事に育てた幼な子を食べるでしょうか。祭司と預言者が主の聖所で殺されていいでしょうか。
2:20 Behold, O LORD, and consider to whom you have done this. Shall the women eat their fruit, and children of a span long? shall the priest and the prophet be slain in the sanctuary of the Lord?
2:21 老いも若きも、ちまたのちりに伏し、わがおとめも、若人も、つるぎで倒されてしまった。あなたは、その怒りの日にこれを殺し、これをほふって、あわれむことをされなかった。
2:21 The young and the old lie on the ground in the streets: my virgins and my young men are fallen by the sword; you have slain them in the day of yours anger; you have killed, and not pitied.
2:22 あなたは、わたしの恐れるものを、祭の日のように四方から呼び集められた。主の怒りの日には、のがれた者も残った者もなかった。わたしが、いだき育てた者を／わたしの敵は滅ぼし尽した。
2:22 You have called as in a solemn day my terrors round about, so that in the day of the LORD's anger none escaped nor remained: those that I have swaddled and brought up has mine enemy consumed.
3:1 わたしは彼の怒りのむちによって、悩みにあった人である。
3:1 I AM the man that has seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
3:2 彼はわたしをかり立てて、光のない暗い中を歩かせ、
3:2 He has led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light.
3:3 まことにその手をしばしばかえて、ひねもすわたしを攻められた。
3:3 Surely against me is he turned; he turns his hand against me all the day.
3:4 彼はわが肉と皮を衰えさせ、わが骨を砕き、
3:4 My flesh and my skin has he made old; he has broken my bones.
3:5 苦しみと悩みをもって、わたしを囲み、わたしを閉じこめ、
3:5 He has built against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.
3:6 遠い昔に死んだ者のように、暗い所に住まわせられた。
3:6 He has set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old.
3:7 彼はわたしのまわりに、かきをめぐらして、出ることのできないようにし、重い鎖でわたしをつながれた。
3:7 He has hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he has made my chain heavy.
3:8 わたしは叫んで助けを求めたが、彼はわたしの祈をしりぞけ、
3:8 Also when I cry and shout, he shuts out my prayer.
3:9 切り石をもって、わたしの行く道をふさぎ、わたしの道筋を曲げられた。
3:9 He has enclosed my ways with hewn stone, he has made my paths crooked.
3:10 彼はわたしに対して待ち伏せするくまのように、潜み隠れるししのように、
3:10 He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.
3:11 わが道を離れさせ、わたしを引き裂いて、見るかげもないみじめな者とし、
3:11 He has turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he has made me desolate.
3:12 その弓を張って、わたしを矢の的のようにされた。
3:12 He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
3:13 彼はその箙の矢を／わたしの心臓に打ち込まれた。
3:13 He has caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.
3:14 わたしはすべての民の物笑いとなり、ひねもす彼らの歌となった。
3:14 I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day.
3:15 彼はわたしを苦い物で飽かせ、にがよもぎをわたしに飲ませられた。
3:15 He has filled me with bitterness, he has made me drunken with wormwood.
3:16 彼は小石をもって、わたしの歯を砕き、灰の中にわたしをころがされた。
3:16 He has also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he has covered me with ashes.
3:17 わが魂は平和を失い、わたしは幸福を忘れた。
3:17 And you have removed my soul far off from peace: I forgotten about prosperity.
3:18 そこでわたしは言った、「わが栄えはうせ去り、わたしが主に望むところのものもうせ去った」と。
3:18 And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD:
3:19 どうか、わが悩みと苦しみ、にがよもぎと胆汁とを心に留めてください。
3:19 Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
3:20 わが魂は絶えずこれを思って、わがうちにうなだれる。
3:20 My soul has them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
3:21 しかし、わたしはこの事を心に思い起す。それゆえ、わたしは望みをいだく。
3:21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
3:22 主のいつくしみは絶えることがなく、そのあわれみは尽きることがない。
3:22 It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
3:23 これは朝ごとに新しく、あなたの真実は大きい。
3:23 They are new every morning: great is your faithfulness.
3:24 わが魂は言う、「主はわたしの受くべき分である、それゆえ、わたしは彼を待ち望む」と。
3:24 The LORD is my portion, says my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
3:25 主はおのれを待ち望む者と、おのれを尋ね求める者にむかって恵みふかい。
3:25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeks him.
3:26 主の救を静かに待ち望むことは、良いことである。
3:26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
3:27 人が若い時にくびきを負うことは、良いことである。
3:27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke of his youth.
3:28 主がこれを負わせられるとき、ひとりすわって黙しているがよい。
3:28 He sits alone and keeps silence, because he has borne it upon him.
3:29 口をちりにつけよ、あるいはなお望みがあるであろう。
3:29 He puts his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.
3:30 おのれを撃つ者にほおを向け、満ち足りるまでに、はずかしめを受けよ。
3:30 He gives his cheek to him that strikes him: he is filled full with reproach.
3:31 主はとこしえにこのような人を／捨てられないからである。
3:31 For the LORD will not cast off for ever:
3:32 彼は悩みを与えられるが、そのいつくしみが豊かなので、またあわれみをたれられる。
3:32 But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
3:33 彼は心から人の子を／苦しめ悩ますことをされないからである。
3:33 For he does not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.
3:34 地のすべての捕われ人を足の下に踏みにじり、
3:34 To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth.
3:35 いと高き者の前に人の公義をまげ、
3:35 To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,
3:36 人の訴えをくつがえすことは、主のよみせられないことである。
3:36 To subvert a man in his cause, the LORD approves not.
3:37 主が命じられたのでなければ、だれが命じて、その事の成ったことがあるか。
3:37 Who is he that says, and it comes to pass, when the Lord commands it not?
3:38 災もさいわいも、いと高き者の口から出るではないか。
3:38 Out of the mouth of the most High proceeds not evil and good?
3:39 生ける人はどうしてつぶやかねばならないのか、人は自分の罪の罰せられるのを、つぶやくことができようか。
3:39 Wherefore does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
3:40 われわれは、自分の行いを調べ、かつ省みて、主に帰ろう。
3:40 Let us search and try our ways, and return to the LORD.
3:41 われわれは天にいます神にむかって、手と共に心をもあげよう。
3:41 Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.
3:42 「わたしたちは罪を犯し、そむきました、あなたはおゆるしになりませんでした。
3:42 We have transgressed and have rebelled: you have not pardoned.
3:43 あなたは怒りをもってご自分をおおい、わたしたちを追い攻め、殺して、あわれまず、
3:43 You have covered with anger, and persecuted us: you have slain, you have not pitied.
3:44 また雲をもってご自分をおおい、祈を通じないようにし、
3:44 You have covered yourself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through.
3:45 もろもろの民の中に、わたしたちをちりあくたとなさいました。
3:45 You have made us as the waste and refuse in the midst of the people.
3:46 敵はみなわたしたちをののしり、
3:46 All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.
3:47 恐れと落し穴と、荒廃と滅亡とが、わたしたちに臨みました。
3:47 Fear and a snare has come upon us, desolation and destruction.
3:48 わが民の娘の滅びによって、わたしの目には涙の川が流れています。
3:48 Mine eye runs down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
3:49 わが目は絶えず涙を注ぎ出して、やむことなく、
3:49 Mine eye trickes down, and ceases not, without any intermission.
3:50 主が天から見おろして、顧みられる時にまで及ぶでしょう。
3:50 Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven.
3:51 わが目はわが町のすべての娘の最期のゆえに、わたしを痛ませます。
3:51 Mine eye affects mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.
3:52 ゆえなくわたしに敵する者どもによって、わたしは鳥のように追われました。
3:52 Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause.
3:53 彼らは生きているわたしを穴の中に投げ入れ、わたしの上に石を投げつけました。
3:53 They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.
3:54 水はわたしの頭の上にあふれ、わたしは『断ち滅ぼされた』と言いました。
3:54 Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off.
3:55 主よ、わたしは深い穴からみ名を呼びました。
3:55 I called upon your name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon.
3:56 あなたはわが声を聞かれました、『わが嘆きと叫びに耳をふさがないでください』。
3:56 You have heard my voice: hide not yours ear at my breathing, at my cry.
3:57 わたしがあなたに呼ばわったとき、あなたは近寄って、『恐れるな』と言われました。
3:57 You drew near in the day that I called upon you: you said, Fear not.
3:58 主よ、あなたはわが訴えを取りあげて、わたしの命をあがなわれました。
3:58 O LORD, you have pleaded the causes of my soul; you have redeemed my life.
3:59 主よ、あなたはわたしがこうむった不義を／ごらんになりました。わたしの訴えをおさばきください。
3:59 O LORD, you have seen my wrong: judge you my cause.
3:60 あなたはわたしに対する彼らの報復と、陰謀とを、ことごとくごらんになりました。
3:60 You have seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me.
3:61 主よ、あなたはわたしに対する彼らのそしりと、陰謀とを、ことごとく聞かれました。
3:61 You have heard their reproach, O LORD, and all their imaginations against me;
3:62 立ってわたしに逆らう者どものくちびると、その思いは、ひねもすわたしを攻めています。
3:62 The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.
3:63 どうか、彼らのすわるをも、立つをも、みそなわしてください。わたしは彼らの歌となっています。
3:63 Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their music.
3:64 主よ、彼らの手のわざにしたがって、彼らに報い、
3:64 Render unto them a recompence, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.
3:65 彼らの心をかたくなにし、あなたののろいを彼らに注いでください。
3:65 Give them sorrow of heart, your curse unto them.
3:66 主よ、怒りをもって彼らを追い、天が下から彼らを滅ぼしてください」。
3:66 Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD.
4:1 ああ、黄金は光を失い、純金は色を変じ、聖所の石は／すべてのちまたのかどに投げ捨てられた。
4:1 How is the gold become dim! how is the most fine gold changed! the stones of the sanctuary are poured out in the top of every street.
4:2 ああ、精金にも比すべきシオンのいとし子らは、陶器師の手のわざである土の器のようにみなされる。
4:2 The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter!
4:3 山犬さえも乳ぶさをたれて、その子に乳を飲ませる。ところが、わが民の娘は、荒野のだちょうのように無慈悲になった。
4:3 Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones: the daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.
4:4 乳のみ子の舌はかわいて、上あごに、ひたとつき、幼な子らはパンを求めても、これに与える者がない。
4:4 The tongue of the nursing infant cleaves to the roof of his mouth for thirst: the young children ask bread, and no man breaks it unto them.
4:5 うまい物を食べていた者は、落ちぶれて、ちまたにおり、紫の着物で育てられた者も、今は灰だまりの上に伏している。
4:5 They that did feed delicately are desolate in the streets: they that were brought up in scarlet embrace dunghills.
4:6 わが民の娘のうけた懲らしめは、ソドムの罰よりも大きかった。ソドムは昔、人の手によらないで、またたくまに滅ぼされたのだ。
4:6 For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands stayed on her.
4:7 わが民の君たちは雪よりも清らかに、乳よりも白く、そのからだは、さんごよりも赤く、その姿の美しさはサファイヤのようであった。
4:7 Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk, they were more rosy in body than rubies, their polishing was of sapphire:
4:8 今はその顔はすすよりも黒く、町の中にいても人に知られず、その皮膚は縮んで骨につき、かわいて枯れ木のようになった。
4:8 Their visage is blacker than a coal; they are not known in the streets: their skin cleaves to their bones; it is withered, it is become like a stick.
4:9 つるぎで殺される者は、飢えて死ぬ者よりもさいわいである。彼らは田畑の産物の欠乏によって、刺された者のように衰え行くからである。
4:9 They that be slain with the sword are better than they that be slain with hunger: for these pine away, stricken through for lack of the fruits of the field.
4:10 わが民の娘の滅びる時には／情深い女たちさえも、手ずから自分の子どもを煮て、それを食物とした。
4:10 The hands of the pitiful women have sodden their own children: they were their food in the destruction of the daughter of my people.
4:11 主はその憤りをことごとく漏らし、激しい怒りをそそぎ、シオンに火を燃やして、その礎までも焼き払われた。
4:11 The LORD has accomplished his fury; he has poured out his fierce anger, and has kindled a fire in Zion, and it has devoured the foundations thereof.
4:12 地の王たちも、世の民らもみな、エルサレムの門に、あだや敵が、討ち入ろうとは信じなかった。
4:12 The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem.
4:13 これはその預言者たちの罪のため、その祭司たちの不義のためであった。彼らは義人の血をその町の中に流した者である。
4:13 For the sins of her prophets, and the iniquities of her priests, that have shed the blood of the just in the midst of her,
4:14 彼らは盲人のように、ちまたにさまよい、血で汚れている。だれもその衣にさわることができない。
4:14 They have wandered as blind men in the streets, they have polluted themselves with blood, so that men could not touch their garments.
4:15 人々は彼らにむかって、「去れよ、けがらわしい」、「去れよ、去れよ、さわるな」と叫んだので、彼らは逃げ去って放浪者となったが、異邦人の中でも人々は「もうわれわれのうちに／宿ってはならない」と言った。
4:15 They cried unto them, Depart all of you; it is unclean; depart, depart, touch not: when they fled away and wandered, they said among the heathen, They shall no more sojourn there.
4:16 主はみずから彼らを散らして、再び彼らを顧みず、祭司を尊ばず、長老をいたわられなかった。
4:16 The anger of the LORD has divided them; he will no more regard them: they respected not the persons of the priests, they favoured not the elders.
4:17 われわれの目は、むなしく助けを待ち望んで／疲れ衰えた。われわれは待ち望んだが、救を与え得ない国びとを待ち望んだ。
4:17 As for us, our eyes as yet failed for our vain help: in our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save us.
4:18 人々がわれわれの歩みをうかがうので、われわれは自分の町の中をも、歩くことができなかった。われわれの終りは近づいた、日は尽きた。われわれの終りが来たからである。
4:18 They hunt our steps, that we cannot go in our streets: our end is near, our days are fulfilled; for our end has come.
4:19 われわれを追う者は空のはげたかよりも速く、彼らは山でわれわれを追い立て、野でわれわれを待ち伏せる。
4:19 Our persecutors are swifter than the eagles of the heaven: they pursued us upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness.
4:20 われわれが鼻の息とたのんだ者、主に油そそがれた者は、彼らの落し穴で捕えられた。彼はわれわれが「異邦人の中でも／その陰に生きるであろう」と思った者である。
4:20 The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of the LORD, was taken in their pits, of whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live among the heathen.
4:21 ウズの地に住むエドムの娘よ、喜び楽しめ、あなたにもまた杯がめぐって行く、あなたも酔って裸になる。
4:21 Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwell in the land of Uz; the cup also shall pass through unto you: you shall be drunken, and shall make yourself naked.
4:22 シオンの娘よ、あなたの不義の罰は終った。主は重ねてあなたを捕え移されない。エドムの娘よ、主はあなたの不義を罰し、あなたの罪をあらわされる。
4:22 The punishment of yours iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Zion; he will no more carry you away into captivity: he will visit yours iniquity, O daughter of Edom; he will discover your sins.
5:1 主よ、われわれに臨んだ事を／覚えてください。われわれのはずかしめを顧みてください。
5:1 Remember, O LORD, what has come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.
5:2 われわれの嗣業は他国の人に移り、家は異邦人のものとなった。
5:2 Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.
5:3 われわれはみなしごとなって父はなく、母はやもめにひとしい。
5:3 We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows.
5:4 われわれは金を出して水を飲み、価を払って、たきぎを獲なければならない。
5:4 We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.
5:5 われわれは首にくびきをかけられて追い使われ、疲れても休むことができない。
5:5 Our necks are under persecution: we labour, and have no rest.
5:6 われわれは足りるだけの食物を獲るために、エジプトおよびアッスリヤに手をさし伸べた。
5:6 We have given the hand to the Egyptians, and to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.
5:7 われわれの先祖は罪を犯して、すでに世になく、われわれはその不義の責めを負っている。
5:7 Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities.
5:8 奴隷であった者がわれわれを治めるが、われわれをその手から救い出す者がない。
5:8 Servants have ruled over us: there is none that does deliver us out of their hand.
5:9 われわれは荒野のつるぎのゆえに、おのが命をかけて食物を獲る。
5:9 We got our bread with the peril of our lives because of the sword of the wilderness.
5:10 われわれの皮膚は飢餓の激しい熱のために、炉のように熱い。
5:10 Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine.
5:11 女たちはシオンで犯され、おとめたちはユダの町々で汚された。
5:11 They ravished the women in Zion, and the maids in the cities of Judah.
5:12 君たる者も彼らの手でつるされ、長老たちも尊ばれず、
5:12 Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.
5:13 若者たちは、ひきうすをになわせられ、わらべたちは、たきぎを負って、よろめき、
5:13 They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood.
5:14 長老たちは門に集まることをやめ、若者たちはその音楽を廃した。
5:14 The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their music.
5:15 われわれの心の喜びはやみ、踊りは悲しみに変り、
5:15 The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.
5:16 われわれの冠はこうべから落ちた。わざわいなるかな、われわれは罪を犯したからである。
5:16 The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!
5:17 このために、われわれの心は衰え、これらの事のために、われわれの目はくらくなった。
5:17 For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim.
5:18 シオンの山は荒れはて、山犬がその上を歩いているからである。
5:18 Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.
5:19 しかし主よ、あなたはとこしえに統べ治められる。あなたの、み位は世々絶えることがない。
5:19 You, O LORD, remain for ever; your throne from generation to generation.
5:20 なぜ、あなたはわれわれをながく忘れ、われわれを久しく捨ておかれるのですか。
5:20 Wherefore do you forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time?
5:21 主よ、あなたに帰らせてください、われわれは帰ります。われわれの日を新たにして、いにしえの日のようにしてください。
5:21 Turn you us unto you, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.
5:22 あなたは全くわれわれを捨てられたのですか、はなはだしく怒っていられるのですか。
5:22 But you have utterly rejected us; you are very angry against us.
