1:1 ダビデ王は年がすすんで老い、夜着を着せても暖まらなかったので、
1:1 Now king David was old and stricken in years; and they covered him with clothes, but he got no heat.
1:2 その家来たちは彼に言った、「王わが主のために、ひとりの若いおとめを捜し求めて王にはべらせ、王の付添いとし、あなたのふところに寝て、王わが主を暖めさせましょう」。
1:2 Wherefore his servants said unto him, Let there be sought for my lord the king a young virgin: and let her stand before the king, and let her cherish him, and let her lie in your bosom, that my lord the king may get heat.
1:3 そして彼らはあまねくイスラエルの領土に美しいおとめを捜し求めて、シュナミびとアビシャグを得、王のもとに連れてきた。
1:3 So they sought for a fair damsel throughout all the coasts of Israel, and found Abishag a Shunammite, and brought her to the king.
1:4 おとめは非常に美しく、王の付添いとなって王に仕えたが、王は彼女を知ることがなかった。
1:4 And the damsel was very fair, and cherished the king, and ministered to him: but the king had sexual contact with her not.
1:5 さてハギテの子アドニヤは高ぶって、「わたしは王となろう」と言い、自分のために戦車と騎兵および自分の前に駆ける者五十人を備えた。
1:5 Then Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, I will be king: and he prepared him chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.
1:6 彼の父は彼が生れてこのかた一度も「なぜ、そのような事をするのか」と言って彼をたしなめたことがなかった。アドニヤもまた非常に姿の良い人であって、アブサロムの次に生れた者である。
1:6 And his father had not displeased him at any time in saying, Why have you done so? and he also was a very goodly man; and his mother bare him after Absalom.
1:7 彼がゼルヤの子ヨアブと祭司アビヤタルとに相談したので、彼らはアドニヤに従って彼を助けた。
1:7 And he conferred with Joab the son of Zeruiah, and with Abiathar the priest: and they following Adonijah helped him.
1:8 しかし祭司ザドクと、エホヤダの子ベナヤと、預言者ナタンおよびシメイとレイ、ならびにダビデの勇士たちはアドニヤに従わなかった。
1:8 But Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and Nathan the prophet, and Shimei, and Rei, and the mighty men which belonged to David, were not with Adonijah.
1:9 アドニヤはエンロゲルのほとりにある「へびの石」のかたわらで、羊と牛と肥えた家畜をほふって、王の子である自分の兄弟たち、および王の家来であるユダの人々をことごとく招いた。
1:9 And Adonijah slew sheep and oxen and fat cattle by the stone of Zoheleth, which is by Enrogel, and called all his brethren the king's sons, and all the men of Judah the king's servants:
1:10 しかし預言者ナタンと、ベナヤと、勇士たちと、自分の兄弟ソロモンとは招かなかった。
1:10 But Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, and the mighty men, and Solomon his brother, he called not.
1:11 時にナタンはソロモンの母バテシバに言った、「ハギテの子アドニヤが王となったのをお聞きになりませんでしたか。われわれの主ダビデはそれをごぞんじないのです。
1:11 Wherefore Nathan spoke unto Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, saying, Have you not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith does reign, and David our lord knows it not?
1:12 それでいま、あなたに計りごとを授けて、あなたの命と、あなたの子ソロモンの命を救うようにいたしましょう。
1:12 Now therefore come, let me, I pray you, give you counsel, that you may save yours own life, and the life of your son Solomon.
1:13 あなたはすぐダビデ王のところへ行って、『王わが主よ、あなたは、はしために誓って、おまえの子ソロモンが、わたしに次いで王となり、わたしの位に座するであろうと言われたではありませんか。そうであるのに、どうしてアドニヤが王となったのですか』と言いなさい。
1:13 Go and get you in unto king David, and say unto him, Did not you, my lord, O king, swear unto yours handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? why then does Adonijah reign?
1:14 あなたがなお王と話しておられる間に、わたしもまた、あなたのあとから、はいって行って、あなたの言葉を確認しましょう」。
1:14 Behold, while you yet talk there with the king, I also will come in after you, and confirm your words.
1:15 そこでバテシバは寝室にはいって王の所へ行った。（王は非常に老いて、シュナミびとアビシャグが王に仕えていた）。
1:15 And Bathsheba went in unto the king into the chamber: and the king was very old; and Abishag the Shunammite ministered unto the king.
1:16 バテシバは身をかがめて王を拝した。王は言った、「何の用か」。
1:16 And Bathsheba bowed, and did reverence unto the king. And the king said, What would you?
1:17 彼女は王に言った、「わが主よ、あなたは、あなたの神、主をさして、はしために誓い、『おまえの子ソロモンがわたしに次いで王となり、わたしの位に座するであろう』と言われました。
1:17 And she said unto him, My lord, you sware by the LORD your God unto yours handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne.
1:18 そうであるのに、ごらんなさい、今アドニヤが王となりました。王わが主よ、あなたはそれをごぞんじないのです。
1:18 And now, behold, Adonijah reigns; and now, my lord the king, you know it not:
1:19 彼は牛と肥えた家畜と羊をたくさんほふって、王の子たち、および祭司アビヤタルと、軍の長ヨアブを招きましたが、あなたのしもべソロモンは招きませんでした。
1:19 And he has slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and has called all the sons of the king, and Abiathar the priest, and Joab the captain of the host: but Solomon your servant has he not called.
1:20 王わが主よ、イスラエルのすべての目はあなたに注がれ、だれがあなたに次いで、王わが主の位に座すべきかを告げられるのを望んでいます。
1:20 And you, my lord, O king, the eyes of all Israel are upon you, that you should tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.
1:21 王わが主が先祖と共に眠られるとき、わたしと、わたしの子ソロモンは謀叛人とみなされるでしょう」。
1:21 Otherwise it shall come to pass, when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon shall be counted offenders.
1:22 バテシバがなお王と話しているうちに、預言者ナタンがはいってきた。
1:22 And, lo, while she yet talked with the king, Nathan the prophet also came in.
1:23 人々は王に告げて、「預言者ナタンがここにおります」と言った。彼は王の前にはいり、地に伏して王を拝した。
1:23 And they told the king, saying, Behold Nathan the prophet. And when he was come in before the king, he bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground.
1:24 そしてナタンは言った、「王わが主よ、あなたは、『アドニヤがわたしに次いで王となり、わたしの位に座するであろう』と仰せられましたか。
1:24 And Nathan said, My lord, O king, have you said, Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne?
1:25 彼はきょう下っていって、牛と、肥えた家畜と羊をたくさんほふって、王の子たちと、軍の長ヨアブと、祭司アビヤタルを招きました。彼らはアドニヤの前で食い飲みして、『アドニヤ万歳』と言いました。
1:25 For he is gone down this day, and has slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and has called all the king's sons, and the captains of the host, and Abiathar the priest; and, behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adonijah.
1:26 しかし、あなたのしもべであるわたしと、祭司ザドクと、エホヤダの子ベナヤと、あなたのしもべソロモンを招きませんでした。
1:26 But me, even me your servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and your servant Solomon, has he not called.
1:27 この事は王わが主がさせられた事ですか。あなたはしもべたちに、だれがあなたに次いで王わが主の位に座すべきかを告げられませんでした」。
1:27 Is this thing done by my lord the king, and you have not showed it unto your servant, who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?
1:28 ダビデ王は答えて言った、「バテシバをわたしのところに呼びなさい」。彼女は王の前にはいってきて、王の前に立った。
1:28 Then king David answered and said, Call me Bathsheba. And she came into the king's presence, and stood before the king.
1:29 すると王は誓って言った、「わたしの命をすべての苦難から救われた主は生きておられる。
1:29 And the king swore, and said, As the LORD lives, that has redeemed my soul out of all distress,
1:30 わたしがイスラエルの神、主をさしてあなたに誓い、『あなたの子ソロモンがわたしに次いで王となり、わたしに代って、わたしの位に座するであろう』と言ったように、わたしはきょう、そのようにしよう」。
1:30 Even as I swore unto you by the LORD God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my position; even so will I certainly do this day.
1:31 そこでバテシバは身をかがめ、地に伏して王を拝し、「わが主ダビデ王が、とこしえに生きながらえられますように」と言った。
1:31 Then Bathsheba bowed with her face to the earth, and did reverence to the king, and said, Let my lord king David live for ever.
1:32 ダビデは言った、「祭司ザドクと、預言者ナタンおよびエホヤダの子ベナヤをわたしの所に呼びなさい」。やがて彼らは王の前にきた。
1:32 And king David said, Call me Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada. And they came before the king.
1:33 王は彼らに言った、「あなたがたの主君の家来たちを連れ、わが子ソロモンをわたしの騾馬に乗せ、彼を導いてギホンに下り、
1:33 The king also said unto them, Take with you the servants of your lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride upon mine own mule, and bring him down to Gihon:
1:34 その所で祭司ザドクと預言者ナタンは彼に油を注いでイスラエルの王としなさい。そしてラッパを吹いて、『ソロモン王万歳』と言いなさい。
1:34 And let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him there king over Israel: and blow all of you with the trumpet, and say, God save king Solomon.
1:35 それから、あなたがたは彼に従って上ってきなさい。彼はきて、わたしの位に座し、わたしに代って王となるであろう。わたしは彼を立ててイスラエルとユダの上に主君とする」。
1:35 Then all of you shall come up after him, that he may come and sit upon my throne; for he shall be king in my position: and I have appointed him to be ruler over Israel and over Judah.
1:36 エホヤダの子ベナヤは王に答えて言った、「アァメン、願わくは、王わが主君の神、主もまたそう仰せられますように。
1:36 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king, and said, Amen: the LORD God of my lord the king say so too.
1:37 願わくは、主が王わが主君と共におられたように、ソロモンと共におられて、その位をわが主君ダビデ王の位よりも大きくせられますように」。
1:37 As the LORD has been with my lord the king, even so be he with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord king David.
1:38 そこで祭司ザドクと預言者ナタンおよびエホヤダの子ベナヤ、ならびにケレテびとと、ペレテびとは下って行って、ソロモンをダビデ王の騾馬に乗せ、彼をギホンに導いて行った。
1:38 So Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon king David's mule, and brought him to Gihon.
1:39 祭司ザドクは幕屋から油の角を取ってきて、ソロモンに油を注いだ。そしてラッパを吹き鳴らし、民は皆「ソロモン王万歳」と言った。
1:39 And Zadok the priest took an horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, God save king Solomon.
1:40 民はみな彼に従って上り、笛を吹いて大いに喜び祝った。地は彼らの声で裂けるばかりであった。
1:40 And all the people came up after him, and the people piped with pipes, and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth rent with the sound of them.
1:41 アドニヤおよび彼と共にいた客たちは皆食事を終ったとき、これを聞いた。ヨアブはラッパの音を聞いて言った、「町の中のあの騒ぎは何か」。
1:41 And Adonijah and all the guest that were with him heard it as they had made an end of eating. And when Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, Wherefore is this noise of the city being in an uproar?
1:42 彼の言葉のなお終らないうちに、そこへ祭司アビヤタルの子ヨナタンがきたので、アドニヤは彼に言った、「はいりなさい。あなたは勇敢な人で、よい知らせを持ってきたのでしょう」。
1:42 And while he yet spoke, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came; and Adonijah said unto him, Come in; for you are a valiant man, and bring good tidings.
1:43 ヨナタンは答えてアドニヤに言った、「いいえ、主君ダビデ王はソロモンを王とせられました。
1:43 And Jonathan answered and said to Adonijah, Verily our lord king David has made Solomon king.
1:44 王は祭司ザドクと預言者ナタンおよびエホヤダの子ベナヤ、ならびにケレテびとと、ペレテびとをソロモンと共につかわされたので、彼らはソロモンを王の騾馬に乗せて行き、
1:44 And the king has sent with him Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and they have caused him to ride upon the king's mule:
1:45 祭司ザドクと預言者ナタンはギホンで彼に油を注いで王としました。そして彼らがそこから喜んで上って来るので、町が騒がしいのです。あなたが聞いた声はそれなのです。
1:45 And Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king in Gihon: and they are come up from thence rejoicing, so that the city rang again. This is the noise that all of you have heard.
1:46 こうしてソロモンは王の位に座し、
1:46 And also Solomon sits on the throne of the kingdom.
1:47 かつ王の家来たちがきて、主君ダビデ王に祝いを述べて、『願わくは、あなたの神がソロモンの名をあなたの名よりも高くし、彼の位をあなたの位よりも大きくされますように』と言いました。そして王は床の上で拝されました。
1:47 And moreover the king's servants came to bless our lord king David, saying, God make the name of Solomon better than your name, and make his throne greater than your throne. And the king bowed himself upon the bed.
1:48 王はまたこう言われました、『イスラエルの神、主はほむべきかな。主はきょう、わたしの位に座するひとりの子を与えて、これをわたしに見せてくださった』と」。
1:48 And also thus said the king, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which has given one to sit on my throne this day, mine eyes even seeing it.
1:49 その時アドニヤと共にいた客はみな驚き、立っておのおの自分の道に去って行った。
1:49 And all the guest that were with Adonijah were afraid, and rose up, and went every man his way.
1:50 そしてアドニヤはソロモンを恐れ、立って行って祭壇の角をつかんだ。
1:50 And Adonijah feared because of Solomon, and arose, and went, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.
1:51 ある人がこれをソロモンに告げて言った、「アドニヤはソロモンを恐れ、今彼は祭壇の角をつかんで、『どうぞ、ソロモン王がきょう、つるぎをもってしもべを殺さないとわたしに誓ってくださるように』と言っています」。
1:51 And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah fears king Solomon: for, lo, he has caught hold on the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear unto me today that he will not slay his servant with the sword.
1:52 ソロモンは言った、「もし彼がよい人となるならば、その髪の毛ひとすじも地に落ちることはなかろう。しかし彼のうちに悪のあることがわかるならば、彼は死ななければならない」。
1:52 And Solomon said, If he will show himself a worthy man, there shall not an hair of him fall to the earth: but if wickedness shall be found in him, he shall die.
1:53 ソロモンは人をつかわして彼を祭壇からつれて下らせた。彼がきてソロモンを拝したので、ソロモンは彼に「家に帰りなさい」と言った。
1:53 So king Solomon sent, and they brought him down from the altar. And he came and bowed himself to king Solomon: and Solomon said unto him, Go to yours house.
2:1 ダビデの死ぬ日が近づいたので、彼はその子ソロモンに命じて言った、
2:1 Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,
2:2 「わたしは世のすべての人の行く道を行こうとしている。あなたは強く、男らしくなければならない。
2:2 I go the way of all the earth: be you strong therefore, and show yourself a man;
2:3 あなたの神、主のさとしを守り、その道に歩み、その定めと戒めと、おきてとあかしとを、モーセの律法にしるされているとおりに守らなければならない。そうすれば、あなたがするすべての事と、あなたの向かうすべての所で、あなたは栄えるであろう。
2:3 And keep the charge of the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do, and anywhere you turn yourself:
2:4 また主がさきにわたしについて語って『もしおまえの子たちが、その道を慎み、心をつくし、精神をつくして真実をもって、わたしの前に歩むならば、おまえに次いでイスラエルの位にのぼる人が、欠けることはなかろう』と言われた言葉を確実にされるであろう。
2:4 That the LORD may continue his word which he spoke concerning me, saying, If your children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail you (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.
2:5 またあなたはゼルヤの子ヨアブがわたしにした事、すなわち彼がイスラエルのふたりの軍の長ネルの子アブネルと、エテルの子アマサにした事を知っている。彼はこのふたりを殺して、戦争で流した地を太平の時に報い、罪のない者の血をわたしの腰のまわりの帯と、わたしの足のくつにつけた。
2:5 Moreover you know also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two captains of the hosts of Israel, unto Abner the son of Ner, and unto Amasa the son of Jether, whom he slew, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war upon his girdle that was about his loins, and in his shoes that were on his feet.
2:6 それゆえ、あなたの知恵にしたがって事を行い、彼のしらがを安らかに陰府に下らせてはならない。
2:6 Do therefore according to your wisdom, and let not his hoar head go down to the grave in peace.
2:7 ただしギレアデびとバルジライの子らには恵みを施し、彼らをあなたの食卓で食事する人々のうちに加えなさい。彼らはわたしがあなたの兄弟アブサロムを避けて逃げた時、わたしを迎えてくれたからである。
2:7 But show kindness unto the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be of those that eat at your table: for so they came to me when I fled because of Absalom your brother.
2:8 またバホリムのベニヤミンびとゲラの子シメイがあなたと共にいる。彼はわたしがマハナイムへ行った時、激しいのろいの言葉をもってわたしをのろった。しかし彼がヨルダンへ下ってきて、わたしを迎えたので、わたしは主をさして彼に誓い、『わたしはつるぎをもってあなたを殺さない』と言った。
2:8 And, behold, you have with you Shimei the son of Gera, a Benjamite of Bahurim, which cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim: but he came down to meet me at Jordan, and I swore to him by the LORD, saying, I will not put you to death with the sword.
2:9 しかし彼を罪のない者としてはならない。あなたは知恵のある人であるから、彼になすべき事を知っている。あなたは彼のしらがを血に染めて陰府に下らせなければならない」。
2:9 Now therefore hold him not guiltless: for you are a wise man, and know what you ought to do unto him; but his hoar head bring you down to the grave with blood.
2:10 ダビデはその先祖と共に眠って、ダビデの町に葬られた。
2:10 So David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.
2:11 ダビデがイスラエルを治めた日数は四十年であった。すなわちヘブロンで七年、エルサレムで三十三年、王であった。
2:11 And the days that David reigned over Israel were forty years: seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three years reigned he in Jerusalem.
2:12 このようにしてソロモンは父ダビデの位に座し、国は堅く定まった。
2:12 Then sat Solomon upon the throne of David his father; and his kingdom was established greatly.
2:13 さて、ハギテの子アドニヤがソロモンの母バテシバのところへきたので、バテシバは言った、「あなたは穏やかな事のためにきたのですか」。彼は言った、「穏やかな事のためです」。
2:13 And Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon. And she said, Come you peaceably? And he said, Peaceably.
2:14 彼はまた言った、「あなたに申しあげる事があります」。バテシバは言った、「言いなさい」。
2:14 He said moreover, I have somewhat to say unto you. And she said, Say on.
2:15 彼は言った、「ごぞんじのように、国はわたしのもので、イスラエルの人は皆わたしが王になるものと期待していました。しかし国は転じて、わたしの兄弟のものとなりました。彼のものとなったのは、主から出たことです。
2:15 And he said, You know that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign: nevertheless the kingdom is turned about, and is become my brother's: for it was his from the LORD.
2:16 今わたしはあなたに一つのお願いがあります。断らないでください」。バテシバは彼に言った、「言いなさい」。
2:16 And now I ask one petition of you, deny me not. And she said unto him, Say on.
2:17 彼は言った、「どうかソロモン王に請うて、――王はあなたに断るようなことはないでしょうから――シュナミびとアビシャグをわたしに与えて妻にさせてください」。
2:17 And he said, Speak, I pray you, unto Solomon the king, (for he will not say you nay,) that he give me Abishag the Shunammite to wife.
2:18 バテシバは言った、「よろしい。わたしはあなたのために王に話しましょう」。
2:18 And Bathsheba said, Well; I will speak for you unto the king.
2:19 バテシバはアドニヤのためにソロモン王に話すため、王のもとへ行った。王は立って迎え、彼女を拝して王座に着き、王母のために座を設けさせたので、彼女は王の右に座した。
2:19 Bathsheba therefore went unto king Solomon, to speak unto him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her, and bowed himself unto her, and sat down on his throne, and caused a seat to be set for the king's mother; and she sat on his right hand.
2:20 そこでバテシバは言った、「あなたに一つの小さいお願いがあります。お断りにならないでください」。王は彼女に言った、「母上よ、あなたの願いを言ってください。わたしは断らないでしょう」。
2:20 Then she said, I desire one small petition of you; I pray you, say me not nay. And the king said unto her, Ask on, my mother: for I will not say you nay.
2:21 彼女は言った、「どうぞ、シュナミびとアビシャグをあなたの兄弟アドニヤに与えて、妻にさせてください」。
2:21 And she said, Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah your brother to wife.
2:22 ソロモン王は答えて母に言った、「どうしてアドニヤのためにシュナミびとアビシャグを求められるのですか。彼のためには国をも求めなさい。彼はわたしの兄で、彼の味方には祭司アビヤタルとゼルヤの子ヨアブがいるのですから」。
2:22 And king Solomon answered and said unto his mother, And why do you ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? ask for him the kingdom also; for he is mine elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.
2:23 そしてソロモン王は主をさして誓って言った、「もしアドニヤがこの言葉によって自分の命を失うのでなければ、どんなにでもわたしを罰してください。
2:23 Then king Solomon swore by the LORD, saying, God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah have not spoken this word against his own life.
2:24 わたしを立てて、父ダビデの位にのぼらせ、主が約束されたように、わたしに一家を与えてくださった主は生きておられる。アドニヤはきょう殺されなければならない」。
2:24 Now therefore, as the LORD lives, which has established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who has made me an house, as he promised, Adonijah shall be put to death this day.
2:25 ソロモン王はエホヤダの子ベナヤをつかわしたので、彼はアドニヤを撃って殺した。
2:25 And king Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell upon him that he died.
2:26 王はまた祭司アビヤタルに言った、「あなたの領地アナトテへ行きなさい。あなたは死に当る者ですが、さきにわたしの父ダビデの前に神、主の箱をかつぎ、またすべてわたしの父が受けた苦しみを、あなたも共に苦しんだので、わたしは、きょうは、あなたを殺しません」。
2:26 And unto Abiathar the priest said the king, Get you to Anathoth, unto yours own fields; for you are worthy of death: but I will not at this time put you to death, because you bare the ark of the LORD God before David my father, and because you have been afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted.
2:27 そしてソロモンはアビヤタルを主の祭司職から追放した。こうして主がシロでエリの家について言われた主の言葉が成就した。
2:27 So Solomon thrust out Abiathar from being priest unto the LORD; that he might fulfill the word of the LORD, which he spoke concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh.
2:28 さてこの知らせがヨアブに達したので、ヨアブは主の幕屋にのがれて、祭壇の角をつかんだ。ヨアブはアブサロムを支持しなかったけれども、アドニヤを支持したからである。
2:28 Then tidings came to Joab: for Joab had turned after Adonijah, though he turned not after Absalom. And Joab fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.
2:29 ヨアブが主の幕屋にのがれて、祭壇のかたわらにいることを、ソロモン王に告げる者があったので、ソロモン王はエホヤダの子ベナヤをつかわし、「行って彼を撃て」と言った。
2:29 And it was told king Solomon that Joab was fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD; and, behold, he is by the altar. Then Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying, Go, fall upon him.
2:30 ベナヤは主の幕屋へ行って彼に言った、「王はあなたに、出て来るようにと申されます」。しかし彼は言った、「いや、わたしはここで死にます」。ベナヤは王に復命して言った、「ヨアブはこう申しました。またわたしにこう答えました」。
2:30 And Benaiah came to the tabernacle of the LORD, and said unto him, Thus says the king, Come forth. And he said, Nay; but I will die here. And Benaiah brought the king word again, saying, Thus said Joab, and thus he answered me.
2:31 そこで王はベナヤに言った、「彼が言うようにし、彼を撃ち殺して葬り、ヨアブがゆえなく流した血のとがをわたしと、わたしの父の家から除き去りなさい。
2:31 And the king said unto him, Do as he has said, and fall upon him, and bury him; that you may take away the innocent blood, which Joab shed, from me, and from the house of my father.
2:32 主はまたヨアブが血を流した行為を、彼自身のこうべに報いられるであろう。これは彼が自分よりも正しいすぐれたふたりの人、すなわちイスラエルの軍の長ネルの子アブネルと、ユダの軍の長エテルの子アマサを、つるぎをもって撃ち殺し、わたしの父ダビデのあずかり知らない事をしたからである。
2:32 And the LORD shall return his blood upon his own head, who fell upon two men more righteous and better than he, and slew them with the sword, my father David not knowing thereof, to know, Abner the son of Ner, captain of the host of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, captain of the host of Judah.
2:33 それゆえ、彼らの血は永遠にヨアブのこうべと、その子孫のこうべに帰すであろう。しかしダビデと、その子孫と、その家と、その位とには、主から賜わる平安が永久にあるであろう」。
2:33 Their blood shall therefore return upon the head of Joab, and upon the head of his seed for ever: but upon David, and upon his seed, and upon his house, and upon his throne, shall there be peace for ever from the LORD.
2:34 そこでエホヤダの子ベナヤは上っていって、彼を撃ち殺した。彼は荒野にある自分の家に葬られた。
2:34 So Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up, and fell upon him, and slew him: and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.
2:35 王はエホヤダの子ベナヤを、ヨアブに代って軍の長とした。王はまた祭司ザドクをアビヤタルに代らせた。
2:35 And the king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his room over the host: and Zadok the priest did the king put in the room of Abiathar.
2:36 また王は人をつかわし、シメイを召して言った、「あなたはエルサレムのうちに、自分のために家を建てて、そこに住み、そこからどこへも出てはならない。
2:36 And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, Build you an house in Jerusalem, and dwell there, and go not forth thence any where.
2:37 あなたが出て、キデロン川を渡る日には必ず殺されることを、しかと知らなければならない。あなたの血はあなたのこうべに帰すであろう」。
2:37 For it shall be, that on the day you go out, and pass over the brook Kidron, you shall know for certain that you shall surely die: your blood shall be upon yours own head.
2:38 シメイは王に言った、「お言葉は結構です。王、わが主の仰せられるとおりに、しもべはいたしましょう」。こうしてシメイは久しくエルサレムに住んだ。
2:38 And Shimei said unto the king, The saying is good: as my lord the king has said, so will your servant do. And Shimei dwelt in Jerusalem many days.
2:39 ところが三年の後、シメイのふたりの奴隷が、ガテの王マアカの子アキシのところへ逃げ去った。人々がシメイに告げて、「ごらんなさい、あなたの奴隷はガテにいます」と言ったので、
2:39 And it came to pass at the end of three years, that two of the servants of Shimei ran away unto Achish son of Maachah king of Gath. And they told Shimei, saying, Behold, your servants be in Gath.
2:40 シメイは立って、ろばにくらを置き、ガテのアキシのところへ行って、その奴隷を尋ねた。すなわちシメイは行ってその奴隷をガテから連れてきたが、
2:40 And Shimei arose, and saddled his ass, and went to Gath to Achish to seek his servants: and Shimei went, and brought his servants from Gath.
2:41 シメイがエルサレムからガテへ行って帰ったことがソロモン王に聞えたので、
2:41 And it was told Solomon that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath, and was come again.
2:42 王は人をつかわし、シメイを召して言った、「わたしはあなたに主をさして誓わせ、かつおごそかにあなたを戒めて、『あなたが出て、どこかへ行く日には、必ず殺されることを、しかと知らなければならない』と言ったではないか。そしてあなたは、わたしに『お言葉は結構です。従います』と言った。
2:42 And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, Did I not make you to swear by the LORD, and protested unto you, saying, Know for a certain, on the day you go out, and walk abroad any where, that you shall surely die? and you said unto me, The word that I have heard is good.
2:43 ところで、あなたはなぜ主に対する誓いと、わたしが命じた命令を守らなかったのか」。
2:43 Why then have you not kept the oath of the LORD, and the commandment that I have charged you with?
2:44 王はまたシメイに言った、「あなたは自分の心に、あなたがわたしの父ダビデにしたもろもろの悪を知っている。主はあなたの悪をあなたのこうべに報いられるであろう。
2:44 The king said moreover to Shimei, You know all the wickedness which yours heart is privy to, that you did to David my father: therefore the LORD shall return your wickedness upon yours own head;
2:45 しかしソロモン王は祝福をうけ、ダビデの位は永久に主の前に堅く立つであろう」。
2:45 And king Solomon shall be blessed, and the throne of David shall be established before the LORD for ever.
2:46 王がエホヤダの子ベナヤに命じたので、彼は出ていってシメイを撃ち殺した。こうして国はソロモンの手に堅く立った。
2:46 So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; which went out, and fell upon him, that he died. And the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon.
3:1 ソロモン王はエジプトの王パロと縁を結び、パロの娘をめとってダビデの町に連れてきて、自分の家と、主の宮と、エルサレムの周囲の城壁を建て終るまでそこにおらせた。
3:1 And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh's daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the LORD, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.
3:2 そのころまで主の名のために建てた宮がなかったので、民は高き所で犠牲をささげていた。
3:2 Only the people sacrificed in high places, because there was no house built unto the name of the LORD, until those days.
3:3 ソロモンは主を愛し、父ダビデの定めに歩んだが、ただ彼は高き所で犠牲をささげ、香をたいた。
3:3 And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places.
3:4 ある日、王はギベオンへ行って、そこで犠牲をささげようとした。それが主要な高き所であったからである。ソロモンは一千の燔祭をその祭壇にささげた。
3:4 And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.
3:5 ギベオンで主は夜の夢にソロモンに現れて言われた、「あなたに何を与えようか、求めなさい」。
3:5 In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give you.
3:6 ソロモンは言った、「あなたのしもべであるわたしの父ダビデがあなたに対して誠実と公義と真心とをもって、あなたの前に歩んだので、あなたは大いなるいつくしみを彼に示されました。またあなたは彼のために、この大いなるいつくしみをたくわえて、今日、彼の位に座する子を授けられました。
3:6 And Solomon said, You have showed unto your servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before you in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with you; and you have kept for him this great kindness, that you have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.
3:7 わが神、主よ、あなたはこのしもべを、わたしの父ダビデに代って王とならせられました。しかし、わたしは小さい子供であって、出入りすることを知りません。
3:7 And now, O LORD my God, you have made your servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.
3:8 かつ、しもべはあなたが選ばれた、あなたの民、すなわちその数が多くて、数えることも、調べることもできないほどのおびただしい民の中におります。
3:8 And your servant is in the midst of your people which you have chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.
3:9 それゆえ、聞きわける心をしもべに与えて、あなたの民をさばかせ、わたしに善悪をわきまえることを得させてください。だれが、あなたのこの大いなる民をさばくことができましょう」。
3:9 Give therefore your servant an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this your so great a people?
3:10 ソロモンはこの事を求めたので、そのことが主のみこころにかなった。
3:10 And the speech pleased the LORD, that Solomon had asked this thing.
3:11 そこで神は彼に言われた、「あなたはこの事を求めて、自分のために長命を求めず、また自分のために富を求めず、また自分の敵の命をも求めず、ただ訴えをききわける知恵を求めたゆえに、
3:11 And God said unto him, Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked for yourself long life; neither have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of yours enemies; but have asked for yourself understanding to discern judgment;
3:12 見よ、わたしはあなたの言葉にしたがって、賢い、英明な心を与える。あなたの先にはあなたに並ぶ者がなく、あなたの後にもあなたに並ぶ者は起らないであろう。
3:12 Behold, I have done according to your words: lo, I have given you a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like you before you, neither after you shall any arise like unto you.
3:13 わたしはまたあなたの求めないもの、すなわち富と誉をもあなたに与える。あなたの生きているかぎり、王たちのうちにあなたに並ぶ者はないであろう。
3:13 And I have also given you that which you have not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto you all your days.
3:14 もしあなたが、あなたの父ダビデの歩んだように、わたしの道に歩んで、わたしの定めと命令とを守るならば、わたしはあなたの日を長くするであろう」。
3:14 And if you will walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as your father David did walk, then I will lengthen your days.
3:15 ソロモンが目をさましてみると、それは夢であった。そこで彼はエルサレムへ行き、主の契約の箱の前に立って燔祭と酬恩祭をささげ、すべての家来のために祝宴を設けた。
3:15 And Solomon awoke; and, behold, it was a dream. And he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and offered up burnt offerings, and offered peace offerings, and made a feast to all his servants.
3:16 さて、ふたりの遊女が王のところにきて、王の前に立った。
3:16 Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him.
3:17 ひとりの女は言った、「ああ、わが主よ、この女とわたしとはひとつの家に住んでいますが、わたしはこの女と一緒に家にいる時、子を産みました。
3:17 And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house.
3:18 ところがわたしの産んだ後、三日目にこの女もまた子を産みました。そしてわたしたちは一緒にいましたが、家にはほかにだれもわたしたちと共にいた者はなく、ただわたしたちふたりだけでした。
3:18 And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house.
3:19 ところがこの女は自分の子の上に伏したので、夜のうちにその子は死にました。
3:19 And this woman's child died in the night; because she overlaid it.
3:20 彼女は夜中に起きて、はしための眠っている間に、わたしの子をわたしのかたわらから取って、自分のふところに寝かせ、自分の死んだ子をわたしのふところに寝かせました。
3:20 And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while yours handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.
3:21 わたしは朝、子に乳を飲ませようとして起きて見ると死んでいました。しかし朝になってよく見ると、それはわたしが産んだ子ではありませんでした」。
3:21 And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear.
3:22 ほかの女は言った、「いいえ、生きているのがわたしの子です。死んだのはあなたの子です」。初めの女は言った、「いいえ、死んだのがあなたの子です。生きているのはわたしの子です」。彼らはこのように王の前に言い合った。
3:22 And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is your son. And this said, No; but the dead is your son, and the living is my son. Thus they spoke before the king.
3:23 この時、王は言った、「ひとりは『この生きているのがわたしの子で、死んだのがあなたの子だ』と言い、またひとりは『いいえ、死んだのがあなたの子で、生きているのはわたしの子だ』と言う」。
3:23 Then said the king, The one says, This is my son that lives, and your son is the dead: and the other says, Nay; but your son is the dead, and my son is the living.
3:24 そこで王は「刀を持ってきなさい」と言ったので、刀を王の前に持ってきた。
3:24 And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king.
3:25 王は言った、「生きている子を二つに分けて、半分をこちらに、半分をあちらに与えよ」。
3:25 And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other.
3:26 すると生きている子の母である女は、その子のために心がやけるようになって、王に言った、「ああ、わが主よ、生きている子を彼女に与えてください。決してそれを殺さないでください」。しかしほかのひとりは言った、「それをわたしのものにも、あなたのものにもしないで、分けてください」。
3:26 Then spoke the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor yours, but divide it.
3:27 すると王は答えて言った、「生きている子を初めの女に与えよ。決して殺してはならない。彼女はその母なのだ」。
3:27 Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof.
3:28 イスラエルは皆王が与えた判決を聞いて王を恐れた。神の知恵が彼のうちにあって、さばきをするのを見たからである。
3:28 And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do judgment.
4:1 ソロモン王はイスラエルの全地の王であった。
4:1 So king Solomon was king over all Israel.
4:2 彼の高官たちは次のとおりである。ザドクの子アザリヤは祭司。
4:2 And these were the princes which he had; Azariah the son of Zadok the priest,
4:3 シシャの子エリホレフとアヒヤは書記官。アヒルデの子ヨシャバテは史官。
4:3 Elihoreph and Ahiah, the sons of Shisha, scribes; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, the recorder.
4:4 エホヤダの子ベナヤは軍の長。ザドクとアビヤタルは祭司。
4:4 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the host: and Zadok and Abiathar were the priests:
4:5 ナタンの子アザリヤは代官の長。ナタンの子ザブデは祭司で、王の友であった。
4:5 And Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers: and Zabud the son of Nathan was principal officer, and the king's friend:
4:6 アヒシャルは宮内卿。アブダの子アドニラムは徴募の長であった。
4:6 And Ahishar was over the household: and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the tribute.
4:7 ソロモンはまたイスラエルの全地に十二人の代官を置いた。その人々は王とその家のために食物を備えた。すなわちおのおの一年に一月ずつ食物を備えるのであった。
4:7 And Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, which provided victuals for the king and his household: each man his month in a year made provision.
4:8 その名は次のとおりである。エフライムの山地にはベンホル。
4:8 And these are their names: The son of Hur, in mount Ephraim:
4:9 マカヅと、シャラビムと、ベテシメシと、エロン・ベテハナンにはベンデケル。
4:9 The son of Dekar, in Makaz, and in Shaalbim, and Bethshemesh, and Elonbethhanan:
4:10 アルボテにはベンヘセデ、（彼はソコとヘペルの全地を担当した）。
4:10 The son of Hesed, in Aruboth; to him pertained Sochoh, and all the land of Hepher:
4:11 ドルの高地の全部にはベン・アビナダブ、（彼はソロモンの娘タパテを妻とした）。
4:11 The son of Abinadab, in all the region of Dor; which had Taphath the daughter of Solomon to wife:
4:12 アヒルデの子バアナはタアナクとメギドと、エズレルの下、ザレタンのかたわらにあるベテシャンの全地を担当して、ベテシャンからアベル・メホラに至り、ヨクメアムの向こうにまで及んだ。
4:12 Baana the son of Ahilud; to him pertained Taanach and Megiddo, and all Bethshean, which is by Zartanah beneath Jezreel, from Bethshean to Abelmeholah, even unto the place that is beyond Jokneam:
4:13 ラモテ・ギレアデにはベンゲベル、（彼はギレアデにあるマナセの子ヤイルの村々を担当し、またバシャンにあるアルゴブの地方の城壁と青銅の貫の木のある大きな町六十を担当した）。
4:13 The son of Geber, in Ramothgilead; to him pertained the towns of Jair the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead; to him also pertained the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, threescore great cities with walls and brazen bars:
4:14 マハナイムにはイドの子アヒナダブ。
4:14 Ahinadab the son of Iddo had Mahanaim:
4:15 ナフタリにはアヒマアズ、（彼もソロモンの娘バスマテを妻にめとった）。
4:15 Ahimaaz was in Naphtali; he also took Basmath the daughter of Solomon to wife:
4:16 アセルとベアロテにはホシャイの子バアナ。
4:16 Baanah the son of Hushai was in Asher and in Aloth:
4:17 イッサカルにはパルアの子ヨシャパテ。
4:17 Jehoshaphat the son of Paruah, in Issachar:
4:18 ベニヤミンにはエラの子シメイ。
4:18 Shimei the son of Elah, in Benjamin:
4:19 アモリびとの王シホンの地およびバシャンの王オグの地なるギレアデの地にはウリの子ゲベル。彼はその地のただひとりの代官であった。
4:19 Geber the son of Uri was in the country of Gilead, in the country of Sihon king of the Amorites, and of Og king of Bashan; and he was the only officer which was in the land.
4:20 ユダとイスラエルの人々は多くて、海べの砂のようであったが、彼らは飲み食いして楽しんだ。
4:20 Judah and Israel were many, as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking, and making merry.
4:21 ソロモンはユフラテ川からペリシテびとの地と、エジプトの境に至るまでの諸国を治めたので、皆みつぎ物を携えてきて、ソロモンの一生のあいだ仕えた。
4:21 And Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life.
4:22 さてソロモンの一日の食物は細かい麦粉三十コル、荒い麦粉六十コル、
4:22 And Solomon's provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and threescore measures of meal,
4:23 肥えた牛十頭、牧場の牛二十頭、羊百頭で、そのほかに雄じか、かもしか、こじか、および肥えた鳥があった。
4:23 Ten fat oxen, and twenty oxen out of the pastures, and an hundred sheep, beside harts, and roebucks, and fallow-deer, and fatted fowl.
4:24 これはソロモンがユフラテ川の西の地方をテフサからガザまで、ことごとく治めたからである。すなわち彼はユフラテ川の西の諸王をことごとく治め、周囲至る所に平安を得た。
4:24 For he had dominion over all the region on this side the river, from Tiphsah even to Azzah, over all the kings on this side the river: and he had peace on all sides round about him.
4:25 ソロモンの一生の間、ユダとイスラエルはダンからベエルシバに至るまで、安らかにおのおの自分たちのぶどうの木の下と、いちじくの木の下に住んだ。
4:25 And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.
4:26 ソロモンはまた戦車の馬の、うまや四千と、騎兵一万二千を持っていた。
4:26 And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
4:27 そしてそれらの代官たちはおのおの当番の月にソロモン王のため、およびすべてソロモン王の食卓に連なる者のために、食物を備えて欠けることのないようにした。
4:27 And those officers provided victual for king Solomon, and for all that came unto king Solomon's table, every man in his month: they lacked nothing.
4:28 また彼らはおのおのその割当にしたがって馬および早馬に食わせる大麦とわらを、その馬のいる所に持ってきた。
4:28 Barley also and straw for the horses and dromedaries brought they unto the place where the officers were, every man according to his charge.
4:29 神はソロモンに非常に多くの知恵と悟りを授け、また海べの砂原のように広い心を授けられた。
4:29 And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.
4:30 ソロモンの知恵は東の人々の知恵とエジプトのすべての知恵にまさった。
4:30 And Solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt.
4:31 彼はすべての人よりも賢く、エズラびとエタンよりも、またマホルの子ヘマン、カルコル、ダルダよりも賢く、その名声は周囲のすべての国々に聞えた。
4:31 For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all nations round about.
4:32 彼はまた箴言三千を説いた。またその歌は一千五首あった。
4:32 And he spoke three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five.
4:33 彼はまた草木のことを論じてレバノンの香柏から石がきにはえるヒソプにまで及んだ。彼はまた獣と鳥と這うものと魚のことを論じた。
4:33 And he spoke of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springs out of the wall: he spoke also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes.
4:34 諸国の人々はソロモンの知恵を聞くためにきた。地の諸王はソロモンの知恵を聞いて人をつかわした。
4:34 And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom.
5:1 さてツロの王ヒラムは、ソロモンが油を注がれ、その父に代って、王となったのを聞いて、家来をソロモンにつかわした。ヒラムは常にダビデを愛したからである。
5:1 And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants unto Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the room of his father: for Hiram was ever a lover of David.
5:2 そこでソロモンはヒラムに人をつかわして言った、
5:2 And Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,
5:3 「あなたの知られるとおり、父ダビデはその周囲にあった敵との戦いのゆえに、彼の神、主の名のために宮を建てることができず、主が彼らをその足の裏の下に置かれるのを待ちました。
5:3 You know how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.
5:4 ところが今わが神、主はわたしに四方の太平を賜わって、敵もなく、災もなくなったので、
5:4 But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrence.
5:5 主が父ダビデに『おまえに代って、おまえの位に、わたしがつかせるおまえの子、その人がわが名のために宮を建てるであろう』と言われたように、わが神、主の名のために宮を建てようと思います。
5:5 And, behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spoke unto David my father, saying, Your son, whom I will set upon your throne in your room, he shall build an house unto my name.
5:6 それゆえ、あなたは命令を下して、レバノンの香柏をわたしのために切り出させてください。わたしのしもべたちをあなたのしもべたちと一緒に働かせます。またわたしはすべてあなたのおっしゃるとおり、あなたのしもべたちの賃銀をあなたに払います。あなたの知られるとおり、わたしたちのうちにはシドンびとのように木を切るにみな人がないからです」。
5:6 Now therefore command you that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with your servants: and unto you will I give hire for your servants according to all that you shall appoint: for you know that there is not among us any that can skill to hew timber like unto the Sidonians.
5:7 ヒラムはソロモンの言葉を聞いて大いに喜び、「きょう、主はあがむべきかな。主はこのおびただしい民を治める賢い子をダビデに賜わった」と言った。
5:7 And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed be the LORD this day, which has given unto David a wise son over this great people.
5:8 そしてヒラムはソロモンに人をつかわして言った、「わたしはあなたが申しおくられたことを聞きました。香柏の材木と、いとすぎの材木については、すべてお望みのようにいたします。
5:8 And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have considered the things which you sent to me for: and I will do all your desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir.
5:9 わたしのしもべどもにそれをレバノンから海に運びおろさせましょう。わたしはそれをいかだに組んで、海路、あなたの指示される場所まで送り、そこでそれをくずしましょう。あなたはそれを受け取ってください。また、あなたはわたしの家のために食物を供給して、わたしの望みをかなえてください」。
5:9 My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon unto the sea: and I will convey them by sea in rafts unto the place that you shall appoint me, and will cause them to be discharged there, and you shall receive them: and you shall accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.
5:10 こうしてヒラムはソロモンにすべて望みのように香柏の材木と、いとすぎの材木を与えた。
5:10 So Hiram gave Solomon cedar trees and fir trees according to all his desire.
5:11 またソロモンはヒラムにその家の食物として小麦二万コルを与え、またオリブをつぶして取った油二万コルを与えた。このようにソロモンは年々ヒラムに与えた。
5:11 And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat for food to his household, and twenty measures of pure oil: thus gave Solomon to Hiram year by year.
5:12 主は約束されたようにソロモンに知恵を賜わった。またヒラムとソロモンの間は平和であって、彼らふたりは条約を結んだ。
5:12 And the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him: and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a league together.
5:13 ソロモン王はイスラエルの全地から強制的に労働者を徴募した。その徴募人員は三万人であった。
5:13 And king Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.
5:14 ソロモンは彼らを一か月交代に一万人ずつレバノンにつかわした。すなわち一か月レバノンに、二か月家にあり、アドニラムは徴募の監督であった。
5:14 And he sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses: a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home: and Adoniram was over the levy.
5:15 ソロモンにはまた荷を負う者が七万人、山で石を切る者が八万人あった。
5:15 And Solomon had threescore and ten thousand that bare burdens, and fourscore thousand hewers in the mountains;
5:16 ほかにソロモンには工事を監督する上役の官吏が三千三百人あって、工事に働く民を監督した。
5:16 Beside the chief of Solomon's officers which were over the work, three thousand and three hundred, which ruled over the people that wrought in the work.
5:17 王は命じて大きい高価な石を切り出させ、切り石をもって宮の基をすえさせた。
5:17 And the king commanded, and they brought great stones, costly stones, and hewed stones, to lay the foundation of the house.
5:18 こうしてソロモンの建築者と、ヒラムの建築者およびゲバルびとは石を切り、材木と石とを宮を建てるために備えた。
5:18 And Solomon's builders and Hiram's builders did hew them, and the Gibalites also: so they prepared timber and stones to build the house.
6:1 イスラエルの人々がエジプトの地を出て後四百八十年、ソロモンがイスラエルの王となって第四年のジフの月すなわち二月に、ソロモンは主のために宮を建てることを始めた。
6:1 And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.
6:2 ソロモン王が主のために建てた宮は長さ六十キュビト、幅二十キュビト、高さ三十キュビトであった。
6:2 And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits.
6:3 宮の拝殿の前の廊は宮の幅にしたがって長さ二十キュビト、その幅は宮の前で十キュビトであった。
6:3 And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house.
6:4 彼は宮に、内側の広い枠の窓を造った。
6:4 And for the house he made windows of narrow lights.
6:5 また宮の壁につけて周囲に脇屋を設け、宮の壁すなわち拝殿と本殿の壁の周囲に建てめぐらし、宮の周囲に脇間があるようにした。
6:5 And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the oracle: and he made chambers round about:
6:6 下の脇間は広さ五キュビト、中の広さ六キュビト、第三のは広さ七キュビトであった。宮の外側には壁に段を造って、梁を宮の壁の中に差し込まないようにした。
6:6 The nethermost chamber was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad: for without in the wall of the house he made narrowed rests round about, that the beams should not be fastened in the walls of the house.
6:7 宮は建てる時に、石切り場で切り整えた石をもって造ったので、建てている間は宮のうちには、つちも、おのも、その他の鉄器もその音が聞えなかった。
6:7 And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.
6:8 下の脇間の入口は宮の右側にあり、回り階段によって中の脇間に、中の脇間から第三の脇間にのぼった。
6:8 The door for the middle chamber was in the right side of the house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle chamber, and out of the middle into the third.
6:9 こうして彼は宮を建て終り、香柏のたるきと板をもって宮の天井を造った。
6:9 So he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar.
6:10 また宮につけて、おのおの高さ五キュビトの脇間のある脇屋を建てめぐらし、香柏の材木をもって宮に接続させた。
6:10 And then he built chambers against all the house, five cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.
6:11 そこで主の言葉がソロモンに臨んだ、
6:11 And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying,
6:12 「あなたが建てるこの宮については、もしあなたがわたしの定めに歩み、おきてを行い、すべての戒めを守り、それに従って歩むならば、わたしはあなたの父ダビデに約束したことを成就する。
6:12 Concerning this house which you are in building, if you will walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with you, which I spoke unto David your father:
6:13 そしてわたしはイスラエルの人々のうちに住み、わたしの民イスラエルを捨てることはない」。
6:13 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.
6:14 こうしてソロモンは宮を建て終った。
6:14 So Solomon built the house, and finished it.
6:15 彼は香柏の板をもって宮の壁の内側を張った。すなわち宮の床から天井のたるきまで香柏の板で張った。また、いとすぎの板をもって宮の床を張った。
6:15 And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the ceiling: and he covered them on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of fir.
6:16 また宮の奥に二十キュビトの室を床から天井のたるきまで香柏の板をもって造った。すなわち宮の内に至聖所としての本堂を造った。
6:16 And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar: he even built them for it within, even for the oracle, even for the most holy place.
6:17 宮すなわち本殿の前にある拝殿は長さ四十キュビトであった。
6:17 And the house, that is, the temple before it, was forty cubits long.
6:18 宮の内側の香柏の板は、ひさごの形と、咲いた花を浮彫りにしたもので、みな香柏の板で、石は見えなかった。
6:18 And the cedar of the house within was carved with knops and open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.
6:19 そして主の契約の箱を置くために、宮の内の奥に本殿を設けた。
6:19 And the oracle he prepared in the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD.
6:20 本殿は長さ二十キュビト、幅二十キュビト、高さ二十キュビトであって、純金でこれをおおった。また香柏の祭壇を造った。
6:20 And the oracle in the front part was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and so covered the altar which was of cedar.
6:21 ソロモンは純金をもって宮の内側をおおい、本殿の前に金の鎖をもって隔てを造り、金をもってこれをおおった。
6:21 So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold.
6:22 また金をもって残らず宮をおおい、ついに宮を飾ることをことごとく終えた。また本殿に属する祭壇をことごとく金でおおった。
6:22 And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold.
6:23 本殿のうちにオリブの木をもって二つのケルビムを造った。その高さはおのおの十キュビト。
6:23 And within the oracle he made two cherubims of olive tree, each ten cubits high.
6:24 そのケルブの一つの翼の長さは五キュビト、またそのケルブの他の翼の長さも五キュビトであった。一つの翼の端から他の翼の端までは十キュビトあった。
6:24 And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits.
6:25 他のケルブも十キュビトであって、二つのケルビムは同じ寸法、同じ形であった。
6:25 And the other cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubims were of one measure and one size.
6:26 このケルブの高さは十キュビト、かのケルブの高さも同じであった。
6:26 The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was it of the other cherub.
6:27 ソロモンは宮のうちの奥にケルビムをすえた。ケルビムの翼を伸ばしたところ、このケルブの翼はこの壁に達し、かのケルブの翼はかの壁に達し、他の二つの翼は宮の中で互に触れ合った。
6:27 And he set the cherubims within the inner house: and they stretched forth the wings of the cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.
6:28 彼は金をもってそのケルビムをおおった。
6:28 And he overlaid the cherubims with gold.
6:29 彼は宮の周囲の壁に、内外の室とも皆ケルビムと、しゅろの木と、咲いた花の形の彫り物を刻み、
6:29 And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, within and without.
6:30 宮の床は、内外の室とも金でおおった。
6:30 And the floors of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.
6:31 本殿の入口にはオリブの木のとびらを造った。そのとびらの上のかまちと脇柱とで五辺形をなしていた。
6:31 And for the entering of the oracle he made doors of olive tree: the lintel and side posts were a fifth part of the wall.
6:32 その二つのとびらもオリブの木であって、ソロモンはその上にケルビムと、しゅろの木と、咲いた花の形を刻み、金をもっておおった。すなわちケルビムと、しゅろの木の上に金を着せた。
6:32 The two doors also were of olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubims, and upon the palm trees.
6:33 こうしてソロモンはまた拝殿の入口のためにオリブの木で四角の形に脇柱を造った。
6:33 So also made he for the door of the temple posts of olive tree, a fourth part of the wall.
6:34 その二つのとびらはいとすぎであって、一つのとびらは二つにたたむ折り戸であり、他のとびらも二つにたたむ折り戸であった。
6:34 And the two doors were of fir tree: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.
6:35 ソロモンはその上にケルビムと、しゅろの木と、咲いた花を刻み、金をもって彫り物の上を形どおりにおおった。
6:35 And he carved thereon cherubims and palm trees and open flowers: and covered them with gold fitted upon the carved work.
6:36 また切り石三かさねと、香柏の角材ひとかさねとをもって内庭を造った。
6:36 And he built the inner court with three rows of hewed stone, and a row of cedar beams.
6:37 第四年のジフの月に主の宮の基をすえ、
6:37 In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the LORD laid, in the month Zif:
6:38 第十一年のブルの月すなわち八月に、宮のすべての部分が設計どおりに完成した。ソロモンはこれを建てるのに七年を要した。
6:38 And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.
7:1 またソロモンは自分の家を建てたが、十三年かかってその家を全部建て終った。
7:1 But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.
7:2 彼はレバノンの森の家を建てた。長さ百キュビト、幅五十キュビト、高さ三十キュビトで、三列の香柏の柱があり、その柱の上に香柏の梁があった。
7:2 He built also the house of the forest of Lebanon; the length thereof was an hundred cubits, and the breadth thereof fifty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits, upon four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams upon the pillars.
7:3 四十五本の柱の上にある室は香柏の板でおおった。柱は各列十五本あった。
7:3 And it was covered with cedar above upon the beams, that lay on forty five pillars, fifteen in a row.
7:4 また窓わくが三列あって、窓と窓と三段に向かい合っていた。
7:4 And there were windows in three rows, and light was against light in three ranks.
7:5 戸口と窓はみな四角の枠をもち、窓と窓と三段に向かい合った。
7:5 And all the doors and posts were square, with the windows: and light was against light in three ranks.
7:6 また柱の広間を造った。長さ五十キュビト、幅三十キュビトであった。柱の前に一つの広間があり、その玄関に柱とひさしがあった。
7:6 And he made a porch of pillars; the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth thereof thirty cubits: and the porch was before them: and the other pillars and the thick beam were before them.
7:7 またソロモンはみずから審判をするために玉座の広間、すなわち審判の広間を造った。床からたるきまで香柏をもっておおった。
7:7 Then he made a porch for the throne where he might judge, even the porch of judgment: and it was covered with cedar from one side of the floor to the other.
7:8 ソロモンが住んだ宮殿はその広間のうしろの他の庭にあって、その造作は同じであった。ソロモンはまた彼がめとったパロの娘のために家を建てたが、その広間と同じであった。
7:8 And his house where he dwelt had another court within the porch, which was of the like work. Solomon made also an house for Pharaoh's daughter, whom he had taken to wife, like unto this porch.
7:9 これらはみな内外とも、土台から軒まで、また主の宮の庭から大庭まで、寸法に合わせて切った石、すなわち、のこぎりでひいた高価な石で造られた。
7:9 All these were of costly stones, according to the measures of hewed stones, sawed with saws, within and without, even from the foundation unto the coping, and so on the outside toward the great court.
7:10 また土台は高価な石、大きな石、すなわち八キュビトの石、十キュビトの石であった。
7:10 And the foundation was of costly stones, even great stones, stones of ten cubits, and stones of eight cubits.
7:11 その上には寸法に合わせて切った高価な石と香柏とがあった。
7:11 And above were costly stones, after the measures of hewed stones, and cedars.
7:12 また大庭の周囲には三かさねの切り石と、一かさねの香柏の角材があった。主の宮の内庭と宮殿の広間の庭の場合と同じである。
7:12 And the great court round about was with three rows of hewed stones, and a row of cedar beams, both for the inner court of the house of the LORD, and for the porch of the house.
7:13 ソロモン王は人をつかわしてツロからヒラムを呼んできた。
7:13 And king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre.
7:14 彼はナフタリの部族の寡婦の子であって、その父はツロの人で、青銅の細工人であった。ヒラムは青銅のいろいろな細工をする知恵と悟りと知識に満ちた者であったが、ソロモン王のところにきて、そのすべての細工をした。
7:14 He was a widow's son of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass: and he was filled with wisdom, and understanding, and cunning to work all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and wrought all his work.
7:15 彼は青銅の柱二本を鋳た。一本の柱の高さは十八キュビト、そのまわりは綱をもって測ると十二キュビトあり、指四本の厚さで空洞であった。他の柱も同じである。
7:15 For he cast two pillars of brass, of eighteen cubits high apiece: and a line of twelve cubits did compass either of them about.
7:16 また青銅を溶かして柱頭二つを造り、柱の頂にすえた。その一つの柱頭の高さは五キュビト、他の柱頭の高さも五キュビトであった。
7:16 And he made two capitals of molten brass, to set upon the tops of the pillars: the height of the one capital was five cubits, and the height of the other capital was five cubits:
7:17 柱の頂にある柱頭のために鎖に編んだ飾りひもで市松模様の網細工二つを造った。すなわちこの柱頭のために一つ、かの柱頭のために一つを造った。
7:17 And nets of checker work, and wreaths of chain work, for the capitals which were upon the top of the pillars; seven for the one capital, and seven for the other capital.
7:18 またざくろを造った。すなわち二並びのざくろを一つの網細工の上のまわりに造って、柱の頂にある柱頭を巻いた。他の柱頭にも同じようにした。
7:18 And he made the pillars, and two rows round about upon the one network, to cover the capitals that were upon the top, with pomegranates: and so did he for the other capital.
7:19 この廊の柱の頂にある柱頭の上に四キュビトのゆりの花の細工があった。
7:19 And the capitals that were upon the top of the pillars were of lily work in the porch, four cubits.
7:20 二つの柱の上端の丸い突出部の上にある網細工の柱頭の周囲には、おのおの二百のざくろが二並びになっていた。
7:20 And the capitals upon the two pillars had pomegranates also above, opposite to the belly which was by the network: and the pomegranates were two hundred in rows round about upon the other capital.
7:21 この柱を神殿の廊に立てた。すなわち南に柱を立てて、その名をヤキンと名づけ、北に柱を立てて、その名をボアズと名づけた。
7:21 And he set up the pillars in the porch of the temple: and he set up the right pillar, and called the name thereof Jachin: and he set up the left pillar, and called the name thereof Boaz.
7:22 その柱の頂にはゆりの花の細工があった。こうしてその柱の造作ができあがった。
7:22 And upon the top of the pillars was lily work: so was the work of the pillars finished.
7:23 また海を鋳て造った。縁から縁まで十キュビトであって、周囲は円形をなし、高さ五キュビトで、その周囲は綱をもって測ると三十キュビトであった。
7:23 And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.
7:24 その縁の下には三十キュビトの周囲をめぐるひさごがあって、海の周囲を囲んでいた。そのひさごは二並びで、海を鋳る時に鋳たものである。
7:24 And under the brim of it round about there were knops compassing it, ten in a cubit, compassing the sea round about: the knops were cast in two rows, when it was cast.
7:25 その海は十二の牛の上に置かれ、その三つは北に向かい、三つは西に向かい、三つは南に向かい、三つは東に向かっていた。海はその上に置かれ、牛のうしろは皆内に向かっていた。
7:25 It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east: and the sea was set above upon them, and all their hinder parts were inward.
7:26 海の厚さは手の幅で、その縁は杯の縁のように、ゆりの花に似せて造られた。海には水が二千バテはいった。
7:26 And it was an hand breadth thick, and the brim thereof was wrought like the brim of a cup, with flowers of lilies: it contained two thousand baths.
7:27 また青銅の台を十個造った。台は長さ四キュビト、幅四キュビト、高さ三キュビトであった。
7:27 And he made ten bases of brass; four cubits was the length of one base, and four cubits the breadth thereof, and three cubits the height of it.
7:28 その台の構造は次のとおりである。台には鏡板があり、鏡板は枠の中にあった。
7:28 And the work of the bases was on this manner: they had borders, and the borders were between the ledges:
7:29 枠の中にある鏡板には、ししと牛とケルビムとがあり、また、ししと牛の上と下にある枠の斜面には花飾りが細工してあった。
7:29 And on the borders that were between the ledges were lions, oxen, and cherubims: and upon the ledges there was a base above: and beneath the lions and oxen were certain additions made of thin work.
7:30 また台にはおのおの四つの青銅の車輪と、青銅の車軸があり、その四すみには洗盤のささえがあった。そのささえは、おのおの花飾りのかたわらに鋳て造りつけてあった。
7:30 And every base had four brazen wheels, and plates of brass: and the four corners thereof had supporters: under the vessel that holds water were supporters molten, at the side of every addition.
7:31 その口は一キュビト上に突き出て、台の頂の内にあり、その口は丸く、台座のように造られ、深さ一キュビト半であった。またその口には彫り物があった。その鏡板は四角で、丸くなかった。
7:31 And the mouth of it within the capital and above was a cubit: but the mouth thereof was round after the work of the base, a cubit and an half: and also upon the mouth of it were engravings with their borders, foursquare, not round.
7:32 四つの車輪は鏡板の下にあり、車軸は台に取り付けてあり、車輪の高さはおのおの一キュビト半であった。
7:32 And under the borders were four wheels; and the axletrees of the wheels were joined to the base: and the height of a wheel was a cubit and half a cubit.
7:33 車輪の構造は戦車の車輪の構造と同じで、その車軸と縁と輻と轂とはみな鋳物であった。
7:33 And the work of the wheels was like the work of a chariot wheel: their axletrees, and their naves, and their rims, and their spokes, were all molten.
7:34 おのおのの台の四すみに四つのささえがあり、そのささえは台の一部をなしていた。
7:34 And there were four supporters to the four corners of one base: and the supporters were of the very base itself.
7:35 台の上には高さ半キュビトの丸い帯輪があった。そして台の上にあるその支柱と鏡板とはその一部をなしていた。
7:35 And in the top of the base was there a round compass of half a cubit high: and on the top of the base the ledges thereof and the borders thereof were of the same.
7:36 その支柱の表面と鏡板にはそれぞれの場所に、ケルビムと、ししと、しゅろを刻み、またその周囲に花飾りを施した。
7:36 For on the plates of the ledges thereof, and on the borders thereof, he graved cherubims, lions, and palm trees, according to the proportion of every one, and additions round about.
7:37 このようにして十個の台を造った。それはみな同じ鋳方、同じ寸法、同じ形であった。
7:37 After this manner he made the ten bases: all of them had one casting, one measure, and one size.
7:38 また青銅の洗盤を十個造った。洗盤はおのおの四十バテの水がはいり、洗盤はおのおの四キュビトであった。十個の台の上にはおのおの一つずつの洗盤があった。
7:38 Then made he ten lavers of brass: one vessel that holds water contained forty baths: and every vessel that holds water was four cubits: and upon every one of the ten bases one vessel that holds water.
7:39 その台の五個を宮の南の方に、五個を宮の北の方に置き、宮の東南の方に海をすえた。
7:39 And he put five bases on the right side of the house, and five on the left side of the house: and he set the sea on the right side of the house eastward opposite to the south.
7:40 ヒラムはまたつぼと十能と鉢を造った。こうしてヒラムはソロモン王のために主の宮のすべての細工をなし終えた。
7:40 And Hiram made the lavers, and the shovels, and the basons. So Hiram made an end of doing all the work that he made king Solomon for the house of the LORD:
7:41 すなわち二本の柱と、その柱の頂にある柱頭の二つの玉と、柱の頂にある柱頭の二つの玉をおおう二つの網細工と、
7:41 The two pillars, and the two bowls of the capitals that were on the top of the two pillars; and the two networks, to cover the two bowls of the capitals which were upon the top of the pillars;
7:42 その二つの網細工のためのざくろ四百。このざくろは一つの網細工に、二並びにつけて、柱の頂にある柱頭の二つの玉を巻いた。
7:42 And four hundred pomegranates for the two networks, even two rows of pomegranates for one network, to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were upon the pillars;
7:43 また十個の台と、その台の上の十個の洗盤と、
7:43 And the ten bases, and ten lavers on the bases;
7:44 一つの海と、その海の下の十二の牛とであった。
7:44 And one sea, and twelve oxen under the sea;
7:45 さてつぼと十能と鉢、すなわちヒラムがソロモン王のために造った主の宮のこれらの器はみな光のある青銅であった。
7:45 And the pots, and the shovels, and the basons: and all these vessels, which Hiram made to king Solomon for the house of the LORD, were of bright brass.
7:46 王はヨルダンの低地で、スコテとザレタンの間の粘土の地でこれらを鋳た。
7:46 In the plain of Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zarthan.
7:47 ソロモンはその器が非常に多かったので、皆それをはからずにおいた。その青銅の重さは、はかり得なかった。
7:47 And Solomon left all the vessels unweighed, because they were exceeding many: neither was the weight of the brass found out.
7:48 またソロモンは主の宮にあるもろもろの器を造った。すなわち金の祭壇と、供えのパンを載せる金の机、
7:48 And Solomon made all the vessels that pertained unto the house of the LORD: the altar of gold, and the table of gold, whereupon the showbread was,
7:49 および純金の燭台。この燭台は本殿の前に、五つは南に、五つは北にあった。また金の花と、ともしび皿と、心かきと、
7:49 And the candlesticks of pure gold, five on the right side, and five on the left, before the oracle, with the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs of gold,
7:50 純金の皿と、心切りばさみと、鉢と、香の杯と、心取り皿と、至聖所である宮の奥のとびらのためおよび、宮の拝殿のとびらのために、金のひじつぼを造った。
7:50 And the bowls, and the snuffers, and the basons, and the spoons, and the censers of pure gold; and the hinges of gold, both for the doors of the inner house, the most holy place, and for the doors of the house, to know, of the temple.
7:51 こうしてソロモン王が主の宮のために造るすべての細工は終った。そしてソロモンは父ダビデがささげた物、すなわち金銀および器物を携え入り、主の宮の宝蔵の中にたくわえた。
7:51 So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the LORD. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the LORD.
