13:1 Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam began Abijah to reign over Judah.
1 Dalam tahun kedelapan belas zaman raja Yerobeam menjadi rajalah Abia atas Yehuda.
13:2 He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Michaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. And there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
2 Tiga tahun lamanya ia memerintah di Yerusalem. Nama ibunya ialah Mikhaya, anak Uriel dari Gibea. Dan ada perang antara Abia dan Yerobeam.
13:3 And Abijah set the battle in array with an army of valiant men of war, even four hundred thousand chosen men: Jeroboam also set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, being mighty men of valour.
3 Abia memulai perang dengan pasukan pahlawan-pahlawan perang, yang jumlahnya empat ratus ribu orang pilihan, sedangkan Yerobeam mengatur barisan perangnya melawan dia dengan delapan ratus ribu orang pilihan, pahlawan-pahlawan yang gagah perkasa.
13:4 And Abijah stood up upon mount Zemaraim, which is in mount Ephraim, and said, Hear me, you Jeroboam, and all Israel;
4 Lalu Abia berdiri di atas gunung Zemaraim, yang termasuk pegunungan Efraim, dan berkata: "Dengarlah kepadaku, Yerobeam dan seluruh Israel!
13:5 Ought all of you not to know that the LORD God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?
5 Tidakkah kamu tahu, bahwa TUHAN Allah Israel telah memberikan kuasa kerajaan atas Israel kepada Daud dan anak-anaknya untuk selama-lamanya dengan suatu perjanjian garam?
13:6 Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, has risen up, and has rebelled against his lord.
6 Tetapi Yerobeam bin Nebat, hamba Salomo bin Daud, telah bangkit memberontak melawan tuannya.
13:7 And there are gathered unto him vain men, the children of Belial, and have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them.
7 Petualang-petualang, orang-orang dursila, berhimpun padanya; mereka terlalu kuat bagi Rehabeam bin Salomo, yang masih muda dan belum teguh hati, dan yang tidak dapat mempertahankan diri terhadap mereka.
13:8 And now all of you think to withstand the kingdom of the LORD in the hand of the sons of David; and all of you be a great multitude, and there are with your golden calves, which Jeroboam made you for gods.
8 Tentu kamu menyangka, bahwa kamu dapat mempertahankan diri terhadap kerajaan TUHAN, yang dipegang keturunan Daud, karena jumlah kamu besar dan karena pada kamu ada anak lembu emas yang dibuat Yerobeam untuk kamu menjadi allah.
13:9 Have all of you not cast out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the nations of other lands? so that whosoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of them that are no gods.
9 Bukankah kamu telah menyingkirkan imam-imam TUHAN, anak-anak Harun itu, dan orang-orang Lewi, lalu mengangkat imam-imam menurut kebiasaan bangsa-bangsa negeri-negeri lain, sehingga setiap orang yang datang untuk ditahbiskan dengan seekor lembu jantan muda dan tujuh ekor domba jantan, dijadikan imam untuk sesuatu yang bukan Allah.
13:10 But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and the priests, which minister unto the LORD, are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites wait upon their business:
10 Tetapi kami ini, Tuhanlah Allah kami, dan kami tidak meninggalkan-Nya. Dan anak-anak Harunlah yang melayani TUHAN sebagai imam, sedang orang Lewi menunaikan tugasnya,
13:11 And they burn unto the LORD every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: the showbread also set they in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the LORD our God; but all of you have forsaken him.
11 yakni setiap pagi dan setiap petang mereka membakar bagi TUHAN korban bakaran dan ukupan dari wangi-wangian, menyusun roti sajian di atas meja yang tahir, dan mengatur kandil emas dengan pelita-pelitanya untuk dinyalakan setiap petang, karena kamilah yang memelihara kewajiban kami terhadap TUHAN, Allah kami, tetapi kamulah yang meninggalkan-Nya.
13:12 And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight all of you not against the LORD God of your fathers; for all of you shall not prosper.
12 Lihatlah, pada pihak kami Allah yang memimpin, sedang imam-imam-Nya siap meniup tanda serangan terhadap kamu dengan nafiri isyarat-isyarat. Hai orang Israel, jangan kamu berperang melawan TUHAN, Allah nenek moyangmu, karena kamu tidak akan beruntung!"
13:13 But Jeroboam caused an ambushment to come about behind them: so they were before Judah, and the ambushment was behind them.
13 Tetapi Yerobeam mengirim suatu pasukan penghadang yang harus membuat gerakan keliling supaya sampai di belakang mereka, sehingga induk pasukannya berada di depan Yehuda dan pasukan-pasukan penghadang di belakang mereka.
13:14 And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind: and they cried unto the LORD, and the priests sounded with the trumpets.
14 Ketika Yehuda menoleh ke belakang, lihatlah, mereka harus menghadapi pertempuran dari depan dan dari belakang. Mereka berteriak kepada TUHAN, sedang para imam meniup nafiri,
13:15 Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God stroke Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.
15 dan orang-orang Yehuda memekikkan pekik perang. Pada saat orang-orang Yehuda itu memekikkan pekik perang, Allah memukul kalah Yerobeam dan segenap orang Israel oleh Abia dan Yehuda.
13:16 And the children of Israel fled before Judah: and God delivered them into their hand.
16 Orang Israel lari dari depan Yehuda, tetapi Allah menyerahkan mereka ke dalam tangan Yehuda.
13:17 And Abijah and his people slew them with a great slaughter: so there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men.
17 Abia dengan laskarnya mendatangkan kekalahan yang besar kepada mereka. Dari orang Israel mati terbunuh lima ratus ribu orang pilihan.
13:18 Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the LORD God of their fathers.
18 Demikianlah orang Israel ditundukkan pada waktu itu, sedang orang Yehuda menjadi kokoh, karena mereka mengandalkan diri kepada TUHAN, Allah nenek moyang mereka.
13:19 And Abijah pursued after Jeroboam, and took cities from him, Bethel with the towns thereof, and Jeshanah with the towns thereof, and Ephraim with the towns thereof.
19 Abia mengejar Yerobeam dan merebut dari padanya beberapa kota, yakni Betel dengan segala anak kotanya, Yesana dengan segala anak kotanya dan Efron dengan segala anak kotanya.
13:20 Neither did Jeroboam recover strength again in the days of Abijah: and the LORD struck him, and he died.
20 Tak pernah lagi Yerobeam mendapat kekuatan di zaman Abia. TUHAN memukul dia, sehingga ia mati.
13:21 But Abijah waxed mighty, and married fourteen wives, and brings forth twenty and two sons, and sixteen daughters.
21 Abia menunjukkan dirinya kuat. Ia mengambil empat belas isteri dan memperanakkan dua puluh dua anak laki-laki dan enam belas anak perempuan.
13:22 And the rest of the acts of Abijah, and his ways, and his sayings, are written in the story of the prophet Iddo.

14:1 So Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his position. In his days the land was quiet ten years.
1 Kemudian Abia mendapat perhentian bersama-sama dengan nenek moyangnya, dan ia dikuburkan di kota Daud. Maka Asa, anaknya, menjadi raja menggantikan dia. Pada zaman pemerintahannya negeri itu aman selama sepuluh tahun.
14:2 And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God:
2 Asa melakukan apa yang baik dan yang benar di mata TUHAN, Allahnya.
14:3 For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves:
3 Ia menjauhkan mezbah-mezbah asing dan bukit-bukit pengorbanan, memecahkan tugu-tugu berhala, dan menghancurkan tiang-tiang berhala.
14:4 And commanded Judah to seek the LORD God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.
4 Ia memerintahkan orang Yehuda supaya mereka mencari TUHAN, Allah nenek moyang mereka, dan mematuhi hukum dan perintah.
14:5 Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.
5 Ia menjauhkan bukit-bukit pengorbanan dan pedupaan-pedupaan dari segala kota di Yehuda. Dan kerajaanpun aman di bawah pemerintahannya.
14:6 And he built fenced cities in Judah: for the land had rest, and he had no war in those years; because the LORD had given him rest.
6 Karena negeri itu aman dan tidak ada yang memeranginya di tahun-tahun itu, ia dapat membangun kota-kota benteng di Yehuda; TUHAN telah mengaruniakan keamanan kepadanya.
14:7 Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us; because we have sought the LORD our God, we have sought him, and he has given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered.
7 Katanya kepada orang Yehuda: "Marilah kita memperkuat kota-kota ini dan mengelilinginya dengan tembok beserta menara-menaranya, pintu-pintunya dan palang-palangnya. Negeri ini masih dalam tangan kita, karena kita mencari TUHAN Allah kita dan Ia mencari kita serta mengaruniakan keamanan kepada kita di segala penjuru." Maka mereka melaksanakan pembangunan itu dengan berhasil.
14:8 And Asa had an army of men that bare targets and spears, out of Judah three hundred thousand; and out of Benjamin, that bare shields and drew bows, two hundred and fourscore thousand: all these were mighty men of valour.
8 Pasukan-pasukan Asa yang dari Yehuda jumlahnya tiga ratus ribu orang yang membawa perisai besar dan tombak, dan yang dari Benyamin jumlahnya dua ratus delapan puluh ribu orang yang membawa perisai kecil, sebagai pemanah. Mereka semua pahlawan-pahlawan yang gagah perkasa.
14:9 And there came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and came unto Mareshah.
9 Zerah, orang Etiopia itu, maju berperang melawan mereka dengan tentara sebanyak sejuta orang dan tiga ratus kereta. Ia sampai ke Maresa.
14:10 Then Asa went out against him, and they set the battle in array in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.
10 Lalu Asa maju menghadapinya. Mereka mengatur barisan perangnya di lembah Zefata dekat Maresa.
14:11 And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with you to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on you, and in your name we go against this multitude. O LORD, you are our God; let no man prevail against you.
11 Kemudian Asa berseru kepada TUHAN, Allahnya: "Ya TUHAN, selain dari pada Engkau, tidak ada yang dapat menolong yang lemah terhadap yang kuat. Tolonglah kami ya TUHAN, Allah kami, karena kepada-Mulah kami bersandar dan dengan nama-Mu kami maju melawan pasukan yang besar jumlahnya ini. Ya TUHAN, Engkau Allah kami, jangan biarkan seorang manusia mempunyai kekuatan untuk melawan Engkau!"
14:12 So the LORD stroke the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.
12 Dan TUHAN memukul kalah orang-orang Etiopia itu di hadapan Asa dan Yehuda. Orang-orang Etiopia itu lari,
14:13 And Asa and the people that were with him pursued them unto Gerar: and the Ethiopians were overthrown, that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before the LORD, and before his host; and they carried away very much spoil.
13 lalu dikejar oleh Asa dan laskarnya sampai ke Gerar. Dari orang-orang Etiopia itu amat banyak yang tewas, sehingga tidak ada yang tinggal hidup, karena mereka hancur di hadapan TUHAN dan tentaranya. Orang-orang Yehuda memperoleh jarahan yang sangat besar.
14:14 And they stroke all the cities round about Gerar; for the fear of the LORD came upon them: and they spoiled all the cities; for there was exceeding much spoil in them.
14 Mereka mengalahkan semua kota di sekeliling Gerar, karena ketakutan yang dari TUHAN menimpa penduduknya. Mereka menjarahi semua kota itu, karena jarahan yang besar terdapat di situ.
14:15 They stroke also the tents of cattle, and carried away sheep and camels in abundance, and returned to Jerusalem.
15 Tenda-tenda pemilik ternakpun direbut mereka, dan banyak kambing domba dan unta diangkutnya sebagai jarahan, lalu mereka kembali ke Yerusalem.
15:1 And the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded:
1 Azarya bin Oded dihinggapi Roh Allah.
15:2 And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear all of you me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while all of you be with him; and if all of you seek him, he will be found of you; but if all of you forsake him, he will forsake you.
2 Ia pergi menemui Asa dan berkata kepadanya: "Dengarlah kepadaku, Asa dan seluruh Yehuda dan Benyamin! TUHAN beserta dengan kamu bilamana kamu beserta dengan Dia. Bilamana kamu mencari-Nya, Ia berkenan ditemui olehmu, tetapi bilamana kamu meninggalkan-Nya, kamu akan ditinggalkan-Nya.
15:3 Now for a long season Israel has been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law.
3 Lama sekali Israel tanpa Allah yang benar, tanpa ajaran dari pada imam dan tanpa hukum.
15:4 But when they in their trouble did turn unto the LORD God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them.
4 Tetapi dalam kesesakan mereka berbalik kepada TUHAN, Allah orang Israel. Mereka mencari-Nya, dan Ia berkenan ditemui oleh mereka.
15:5 And in those times there was no peace to him that went out, nor to him that came in, but great vexations were upon all the inhabitants of the countries.
5 Pada zaman itu tidak dapat orang pergi dan pulang dengan selamat, karena terdapat kekacauan yang besar di antara segenap penduduk daerah-daerah.
15:6 And nation was destroyed of nation, and city of city: for God did vex them with all adversity.
6 Bangsa menghancurkan bangsa, kota menghancurkan kota, karena Allah mengacaukan mereka dengan berbagai-bagai kesesakan.
15:7 Be all of you strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.
7 Tetapi kamu ini, kuatkanlah hatimu, jangan lemah semangatmu, karena ada upah bagi usahamu!"
15:8 And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of the LORD, that was before the porch of the LORD.
8 Ketika Asa mendengar perkataan nubuat yang diucapkan oleh nabi Azarya bin Oded itu, ia menguatkan hatinya dan menyingkirkan dewa-dewa kejijikan dari seluruh tanah Yehuda dan Benyamin dan dari kota-kota yang direbutnya di pegunungan Efraim. Ia membaharui mezbah TUHAN yang ada di depan balai Bait Suci TUHAN.
15:9 And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.
9 Ia mengumpulkan seluruh Yehuda dan Benyamin dan orang-orang Efraim, Manasye dan Simeon yang tinggal di antara mereka sebagai orang asing. Sebab dari Israel banyak yang menyeberang memihak kepadanya ketika mereka melihat bahwa TUHAN, Allahnya, beserta dengan dia.
15:10 So they gathered themselves together at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.
10 Mereka berkumpul di Yerusalem pada bulan ketiga tahun kelima belas dari pemerintahan Asa.
15:11 And they offered unto the LORD the same time, of the spoil which they had brought, seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep.
11 Pada hari itu mereka mempersembahkan kepada TUHAN tujuh ratus lembu sapi dan tujuh ribu kambing domba dari jarahan yang mereka bawa pulang.
15:12 And they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;
12 Mereka mengadakan perjanjian untuk mencari TUHAN, Allah nenek moyang mereka, dengan segenap hati dan jiwa.
15:13 That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.
13 Setiap orang, baik anak-anak atau orang dewasa, baik laki-laki atau perempuan, yang tidak mencari TUHAN, Allah Israel, harus dihukum mati.
15:14 And they swore unto the LORD with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets.
14 Mereka bersumpah setia kepada TUHAN dengan suara yang nyaring, dengan sorak-sorai dan dengan tiupan nafiri dan sangkakala.
15:15 And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and the LORD gave them rest round about.
15 Seluruh Yehuda bersukaria atas sumpah itu, karena dengan segenap hati mereka bersumpah setia dan dengan kehendak yang bulat mereka mencari TUHAN. TUHAN berkenan ditemui oleh mereka dan mengaruniakan keamanan kepada mereka di segala penjuru.
15:16 And also concerning Maachah the mother of Asa the king, he removed her from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove: and Asa cut down her idol, and stamped it, and burnt it at the brook Kidron.
16 Bahkan raja Asa memecat Maakha, neneknya, dari pangkat ibu suri, karena neneknya itu membuat patung Asyera yang keji. Asa merobohkan patung yang keji itu, menumbuknya sampai halus dan membakarnya di lembah Kidron.
15:17 But the high places were not taken away out of Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.
17 Sekalipun bukit-bukit pengorbanan tidak dijauhkan dari Israel, namun hati Asa tulus ikhlas sepanjang umurnya.
15:18 And he brought into the house of God the things that his father had dedicated, and that he himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels.
18 Ia membawa persembahan-persembahan kudus ayahnya dan persembahan-persemba kudusnya sendiri ke rumah Allah, yakni emas dan perak serta barang-barang lain.
15:19 And there was no more war unto the five and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa.
19 Tidak ada perang sampai pada tahun ketiga puluh lima pemerintahan Asa.
16:1 In the six and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah, and built Ramah, to the intent that he might let none go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
1 Pada tahun ketiga puluh enam pemerintahan Asa majulah Baesa, raja Israel, hendak berperang melawan Yehuda. Ia memperkuat Rama dengan maksud mencegah lalu lintas kepada Asa, raja Yehuda.
16:2 Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of the LORD and of the king's house, and sent to Benhadad king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
2 Lalu Asa mengeluarkan emas dan perak dari perbendaharaan rumah TUHAN dan dari perbendaharaan rumah raja dan mengirimnya kepada Benhadad, raja Aram yang diam di Damsyik dengan pesan:
16:3 There is a league between me and you, as there was between my father and your father: behold, I have sent you silver and gold; go, break your league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
3 "Ada perjanjian antara aku dan engkau, antara ayahku dan ayahmu. Ini kukirim emas dan perak kepadamu. Marilah, batalkanlah perjanjianmu dengan Baesa, raja Israel, supaya ia undur dari padaku."
16:4 And Benhadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they stroke Ijon, and Dan, and Abelmaim, and all the store cities of Naphtali.
4 Lalu Benhadad mendengarkan permintaan raja Asa; ia menyuruh panglima-panglimanya menyerang kota-kota Israel. Dan mereka memukul kalah Iyon, Dan, Abel-Maim dan segala tempat perbekalan kota-kota di Naftali.
16:5 And it came to pass, when Baasha heard it, that he left off building of Ramah, and let his work cease.
5 Segera sesudah Baesa mendengar hal itu, ia berhenti memperkuat Rama; ia menghentikan usahanya itu.
16:6 Then Asa the king took all Judah; and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha was building; and he built therewith Geba and Mizpah.
6 Tetapi raja Asa mengerahkan segenap orang Yehuda, yang harus mengangkat batu dan kayu yang dipergunakan Baesa untuk memperkuat Rama itu. Ia mempergunakannya untuk memperkuat Geba dan Mizpa.
16:7 And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the LORD your God, therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of yours hand.
7 Pada waktu itu datanglah Hanani, pelihat itu, kepada Asa, raja Yehuda, katanya kepadanya: "Karena engkau bersandar kepada raja Aram dan tidak bersandar kepada TUHAN Allahmu, oleh karena itu terluputlah tentara raja Aram dari tanganmu.
16:8 Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a huge host, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because you did rely on the LORD, he delivered them into yours hand.
8 Bukankah tentara orang Etiopia dan Libia besar jumlahnya, kereta dan orang berkudanya sangat banyak? Namun TUHAN telah menyerahkan mereka ke dalam tanganmu, karena engkau bersandar kepada-Nya.
16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run back and forth throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein you have done foolishly: therefore from henceforth you shall have wars.
9 Karena mata TUHAN menjelajah seluruh bumi untuk melimpahkan kekuatan-Nya kepada mereka yang bersungguh hati terhadap Dia. Dalam hal ini engkau telah berlaku bodoh, oleh sebab itu mulai sekarang ini engkau akan mengalami peperangan."
16:10 Then Asa was angry with the seer, and put him in a prison house; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people the same time.
10 Maka sakit hatilah Asa karena perkataan pelihat itu, sehingga ia memasukkannya ke dalam penjara, sebab memang ia sangat marah terhadap dia karena perkara itu. Pada waktu itu Asa menganiaya juga beberapa orang dari rakyat.
16:11 And, behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, lo, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
11 Sesungguhnya riwayat Asa dari awal sampai akhir tertulis dalam kitab raja-raja Yehuda dan Israel.
16:12 And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians.
12 Pada tahun ketiga puluh sembilan pemerintahannya Asa menderita sakit pada kakinya yang kemudian menjadi semakin parah. Namun dalam kesakitannya itu ia tidak mencari pertolongan TUHAN, tetapi pertolongan tabib-tabib.
16:13 And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign.
13 Kemudian Asa mendapat perhentian bersama-sama nenek moyangnya. Ia mati pada tahun keempat puluh satu pemerintahannya,
16:14 And they buried him in his own sepulchers, which he had made for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odours and divers kinds of spices prepared by the apothecaries' are: and they made a very great burning for him.

17:1 And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his position, and strengthened himself against Israel.
1 Maka Yosafat, anaknya, menjadi raja menggantikan dia. Sebagai pemimpin Israel ia memperkuat dirinya
17:2 And he placed forces in all the fenced cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.
2 dengan menempatkan tentara di semua kota yang berkubu di Yehuda dan pasukan-pasukan pendudukan di tanah Yehuda serta di kota-kota Efraim yang direbut oleh Asa, ayahnya.
17:3 And the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto Baalim;
3 Dan TUHAN menyertai Yosafat, karena ia hidup mengikuti jejak yang dahulu dari Daud, bapa leluhurnya, dan tidak mencari Baal-baal,
17:4 But sought to the Lord God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.
4 melainkan mencari Allah ayahnya. Ia hidup menurut perintah-perintah-Nya dan tidak berbuat seperti Israel.
17:5 Therefore the LORD established the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat presents; and he had riches and honour in abundance.
5 Oleh sebab itu TUHAN mengokohkan kerajaan yang ada di bawah kekuasaannya. Seluruh Yehuda memberikan persembahan kepada Yosafat, sehingga ia menjadi kaya dan sangat terhormat.
17:6 And his heart was lifted up in the ways of the LORD: moreover he took away the high places and groves out of Judah.
6 Dengan tabah hati ia hidup menurut jalan yang ditunjukkan TUHAN. Pula ia menjauhkan dari Yehuda segala bukit pengorbanan dan tiang berhala.
17:7 Also in the third year of his reign he sent to his princes, even to Benhail, and to Obadiah, and to Zechariah, and to Nethaneel, and to Michaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah.
7 Pada tahun ketiga pemerintahannya ia mengutus beberapa pembesarnya, yakni Benhail, Obaja, Zakharia, Netaneel dan Mikha untuk mengajar di kota-kota Yehuda.
17:8 And with them he sent Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tobadonijah, Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, priests.
8 Bersama-sama mereka turut juga beberapa orang Lewi, yakni Semaya, Netanya, Zebaja, Asael, Semiramot, Yonatan, Adonia, Tobia dan Tob-Adonia disertai imam-imam Elisama dan Yoram.
17:9 And they taught in Judah, and had the book of the law of the LORD with them, and went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught the people.
9 Mereka memberikan pelajaran di Yehuda dengan membawa kitab Taurat TUHAN. Mereka mengelilingi semua kota di Yehuda sambil mengajar rakyat.
17:10 And the fear of the LORD fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.
10 Ketakutan yang dari TUHAN menimpa semua kerajaan di negeri-negeri sekeliling Yehuda, sehingga mereka tidak berani berperang melawan Yosafat.
17:11 Also some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and tribute silver; and the Arabians brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred he goats.
11 Dari antara orang-orang Filistin ada yang membawa kepada Yosafat persembahan, dan perak sebagai upeti. Juga orang-orang Arab membawa kepadanya kambing domba, domba jantan tujuh ribu tujuh ratus ekor dan kambing jantan tujuh ribu tujuh ratus ekor.
17:12 And Jehoshaphat waxed great exceedingly; and he built in Judah castles, and cities of store.
12 Yosafat makin lama makin kuat, menjadi luar biasa kuat. Di Yehuda ia membangun benteng-benteng dan kota-kota perbekalan.
17:13 And he had much business in the cities of Judah: and the men of war, mighty men of valour, were in Jerusalem.
13 Banyak perbekalannya di kota-kota Yehuda. Orang-orang perangnya ada di Yerusalem, semuanya pahlawan yang gagah perkasa.
17:14 And these are the numbers of them according to the house of their fathers: Of Judah, the captains of thousands; Adnah the chief, and with him mighty men of valour three hundred thousand.
14 Inilah daftar kesatuan mereka menurut puak-puak mereka; panglima-panglima dari Yehuda ialah panglima Adna dengan tiga ratus ribu pahlawan yang gagah perkasa;
17:15 And next to him was Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred and fourscore thousand.
15 di samping dia panglima Yohanan dengan dua ratus delapan puluh ribu orang;
17:16 And next him was Amasiah the son of Zichri, who willingly offered himself unto the LORD; and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valour.
16 dan di samping dia Amasia bin Zikhri, yang dengan sukarela telah menyerahkan dirinya kepada TUHAN, dengan dua ratus ribu pahlawan yang gagah perkasa.
17:17 And of Benjamin; Eliada a mighty man of valour, and with him armed men with bow and shield two hundred thousand.
17 Dan dari Benyamin ialah Elyada, seorang pahlawan yang gagah perkasa, dengan dua ratus ribu orang yang bersenjatakan busur dan perisai.
17:18 And next him was Jehozabad, and with him an hundred and fourscore thousand ready prepared for the war.
18 Di samping dia Yozabad, dengan seratus delapan puluh ribu orang yang bersenjata untuk berperang.
17:19 These waited on the king, beside those whom the king put in the fenced cities throughout all Judah.
19 Mereka itulah yang bertugas pada raja, selain dari pada mereka yang ditempatkan raja di kota-kota yang berkubu di seluruh Yehuda.
18:1 Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, and joined affinity with Ahab.
1 Ketika Yosafat kaya dan sangat terhormat, ia menjadi besan Ahab.
18:2 And after certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that he had with him, and persuaded him to go up with him to Ramothgilead.
2 Beberapa tahun kemudian, pergilah ia kepada Ahab di Samaria. Ahab menyembelih banyak kambing domba dan lembu sapi untuk dia dan rombongannya, dan mengajaknya untuk menyerang Ramot-Gilead.
18:3 And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Will you go with me to Ramothgilead? And he answered him, I am as you are, and my people as your people; and we will be with you in the war.
3 Berkatalah Ahab, raja Israel, kepada Yosafat, raja Yehuda: "Maukah engkau pergi ke Ramot-Gilead bersama-sama aku?" Jawabnya kepadanya: "Kita sama-sama, aku dan engkau, rakyatmu dan rakyatku, aku akan bersama-sama engkau di dalam perang."
18:4 And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray you, at the word of the LORD to day.
4 Tetapi Yosafat berkata kepada raja Israel: "Baiklah tanyakan dahulu firman TUHAN."
18:5 Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the king's hand.
5 Lalu raja Israel mengumpulkan para nabi, empat ratus orang banyaknya, kemudian bertanyalah ia kepada mereka: "Apakah kami boleh pergi berperang melawan Ramot-Gilead atau aku membatalkannya?" Jawab mereka: "Majulah! Allah akan menyerahkannya ke dalam tangan raja."
18:6 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him?
6 Tetapi Yosafat bertanya: "Tidak adakah lagi di sini seorang nabi TUHAN, supaya dengan perantaraannya kita dapat meminta petunjuk?"
18:7 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he never prophesied good unto me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.
7 Jawab raja Israel kepada Yosafat: "Masih ada seorang lagi yang dengan perantaraannya dapat diminta petunjuk TUHAN. Tetapi aku membenci dia, sebab tidak pernah ia menubuatkan yang baik tentang aku, melainkan selalu malapetaka. Orang itu ialah Mikha bin Yimla." Kata Yosafat: "Janganlah raja berkata demikian."
18:8 And the king of Israel called for one of his officers, and said, Fetch quickly Micaiah the son of Imla.
8 Kemudian raja Israel memanggil seorang pegawai istana, katanya: "Jemputlah Mikha bin Yimla dengan segera!"
18:9 And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah sat either of them on his throne, clothed in their robes, and they sat in a void place at the entering in of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.
9 Sementara raja Israel dan Yosafat, raja Yehuda, duduk masing-masing di atas takhtanya dengan pakaian kebesaran, di suatu tempat pengirikan di depan pintu gerbang Samaria, sedang semua nabi itu bernubuat di depan mereka,
18:10 And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said, Thus says the LORD, With these you shall push Syria until they be consumed.
10 maka Zedekia bin Kenaana membuat tanduk-tanduk besi, lalu berkata: "Beginilah firman TUHAN: Dengan ini engkau akan menanduk Aram sampai engkau menghabiskan mereka."
18:11 And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramothgilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
11 Juga semua nabi itu bernubuat demikian, katanya: "Majulah ke Ramot-Gilead, dan engkau akan beruntung; TUHAN akan menyerahkannya ke dalam tangan raja."
18:12 And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent; let your word therefore, I pray you, be like one of their's, and speak you good.
12 Suruhan yang pergi memanggil Mikha itu berkata kepadanya: "Ketahuilah, nabi-nabi itu sudah sepakat meramalkan yang baik bagi raja, hendaklah engkau juga berbicara seperti salah seorang dari pada mereka dan meramalkan yang baik."
18:13 And Micaiah said, As the LORD lives, even what my God says, that will I speak.
13 Tetapi Mikha menjawab: "Demi TUHAN yang hidup, sesungguhnya, apa yang akan difirmankan Allahku, itulah yang akan kukatakan."
18:14 And when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go all of you up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand.
14 Setelah ia sampai kepada raja, bertanyalah raja kepadanya: "Mikha, apakah kami boleh pergi berperang melawan Ramot-Gilead atau aku membatalkannya?" Jawabnya: "Majulah dan kamu akan beruntung, sebab mereka akan diserahkan ke dalam tanganmu!"
18:15 And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure you that you say nothing but the truth to me in the name of the LORD?
15 Tetapi raja berkata kepadanya: "Sampai berapa kali aku menyuruh engkau bersumpah, supaya engkau mengatakan kepadaku tidak lain dari kebenaran?"
18:16 Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master; let them return therefore every man to his house in peace.
16 Lalu jawabnya: "Telah kulihat seluruh Israel bercerai-berai di gunung-gunung seperti kambing domba yang tidak mempunyai gembala, sebab itu TUHAN berfirman: Mereka ini tidak punya tuan; baiklah masing-masing pulang ke rumahnya dengan selamat."
18:17 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell you that he would not prophesy good unto me, but evil?
17 Kemudian raja Israel berkata kepada Yosafat: "Bukankah telah kukatakan kepadamu: Tidak pernah ia menubuatkan yang baik tentang aku, melainkan hanya malapetaka?"
18:18 Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the LORD; I saw the LORD sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.
18 Kata Mikha: "Sebab itu dengarkanlah firman TUHAN. Aku telah melihat TUHAN sedang duduk di atas takhta-Nya dan segenap tentara sorga berdiri di sebelah kanan-Nya dan di sebelah kiri-Nya.
18:19 And the LORD said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one spoke saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner.
19 Dan TUHAN berfirman: Siapakah yang akan membujuk Ahab, raja Israel, untuk maju berperang, supaya ia tewas di Ramot-Gilead? Maka yang seorang berkata begini, yang lain berkata begitu.
18:20 Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will entice him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith?
20 Kemudian tampillah suatu roh, lalu berdiri di hadapan TUHAN. Ia berkata: Aku ini akan membujuknya. TUHAN bertanya kepadanya: Dengan apa?
18:21 And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the Lord said, You shall entice him, and you shall also prevail: go out, and do even so.
21 Jawabnya: Aku akan keluar dan menjadi roh dusta dalam mulut semua nabinya. Ia berfirman: Biarlah engkau membujuknya, dan engkau akan berhasil pula. Keluarlah dan perbuatlah demikian!
18:22 Now therefore, behold, the LORD has put a lying spirit in the mouth of these your prophets, and the LORD has spoken evil against you.
22 Karena itu, sesungguhnya TUHAN telah menaruh roh dusta ke dalam mulut nabi-nabimu ini, sebab TUHAN telah menetapkan untuk menimpakan malapetaka kepadamu."
18:23 Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and stroke Micaiah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto you?
23 Sesudah itu tampillah Zedekia bin Kenaana; ditamparnyalah pipi Mikha serta berkata: "Bagaimana mungkin Roh TUHAN pindah dari padaku untuk berbicara kepadamu?"
18:24 And Micaiah said, Behold, you shall see on that day when you shall go into an inner chamber to hide yourself.
24 Tetapi Mikha menjawab: "Sesungguhnya engkau akan melihatnya pada hari engkau lari dari satu kamar ke kamar yang lain untuk menyembunyikan diri."
18:25 Then the king of Israel said, Take all of you Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;
25 Berkatalah raja Israel: "Tangkaplah Mikha, bawa dia kembali kepada Amon, penguasa kota, dan kepada Yoas, anak raja,
18:26 And say, Thus says the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.
26 dan katakan: Beginilah titah raja: Masukkan orang ini dalam penjara dan beri dia makan roti dan minum air serba sedikit sampai aku pulang dengan selamat."
18:27 And Micaiah said, If you certainly return in peace, then has not the LORD spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, all you people.
27 Tetapi jawab Mikha: "Jika benar-benar engkau pulang dengan selamat, tentulah TUHAN tidak berfirman dengan perantaraanku!" Lalu disambungnya: "Dengarlah, hai bangsa-bangsa sekalian!"
18:28 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramothgilead.
28 Sesudah itu majulah raja Israel dengan Yosafat, raja Yehuda, ke Ramot-Gilead.
18:29 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and I will go to the battle; but put you on your robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went to the battle.
29 Raja Israel berkata kepada Yosafat: "Aku akan menyamar dan masuk pertempuran, tetapi engkau, pakailah pakaian kebesaranmu." Lalu menyamarlah raja Israel, kemudian mereka masuk ke pertempuran.
18:30 Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of the chariots that were with him, saying, Fight all of you not with small or great, save only with the king of Israel.
30 Adapun raja negeri Aram telah memberi perintah kepada para panglima pasukan keretanya demikian: "Janganlah kamu berperang melawan sembarang orang, melainkan melawan raja Israel saja."
18:31 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.
31 Segera sesudah para panglima pasukan kereta itu melihat Yosafat, mereka berkata: "Itu raja Israel!" Lalu mereka mengepung dia, untuk menyerang dia, tetapi Yosafat berteriak dan TUHAN menolongnya. Allah membujuk mereka pergi dari padanya.
18:32 For it came to pass, that, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back again from pursuing him.
32 Segera sesudah para panglima pasukan kereta itu melihat, bahwa dia bukanlah raja Israel, maka undurlah mereka dari padanya.
18:33 And a certain man drew a bow at random, and stroke the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: therefore he said to his chariot man, Turn yours hand, that you may carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.
33 Tetapi seseorang menarik panahnya dan menembak dengan sembarangan saja, dan mengenai raja Israel di antara sambungan baju zirahnya. Kemudian ia berkata kepada pengemudi keretanya: "Putar! Bawa aku keluar dari pertempuran, sebab aku sudah luka."
18:34 And the battle increased that day: nevertheless the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the even: and about the time of the sun going down he died.
34 Tetapi pertempuran itu bertambah seru pada hari itu, dan raja Israel tetap berdiri di dalam kereta berhadapan dengan orang Aram itu sampai petang. Ia mati ketika matahari terbenam.
19:1 And Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem.
1 Yosafat, raja Yehuda, pulang dengan selamat ke istananya di Yerusalem.
19:2 And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Should you help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon you from before the LORD.
2 Ketika itu Yehu bin Hanani, pelihat itu, pergi menemuinya dan berkata kepada raja Yosafat: "Sewajarnyakah engkau menolong orang fasik dan bersahabat dengan mereka yang membenci TUHAN? Karena hal itu TUHAN murka terhadap engkau.
19:3 Nevertheless there are good things found in you, in that you have taken away the groves out of the land, and have prepared yours heart to seek God.
3 Namun masih terdapat hal-hal yang baik padamu, karena engkau menghapuskan tiang-tiang berhala dari negeri ini dan mencari Allah dengan tekun."
19:4 And Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem: and he went out again through the people from Beersheba to mount Ephraim, and brought them back unto the LORD God of their fathers.
4 Yosafat diam di Yerusalem. Ia mengadakan kunjungan pula ke daerah-daerah, dari Bersyeba sampai ke pegunungan Efraim, sambil menyuruh rakyat berbalik kepada TUHAN, Allah nenek moyang mereka.
19:5 And he set judges in the land throughout all the fenced cities of Judah, city by city,
5 Ia mengangkat juga hakim-hakim di seluruh negeri, yakni di semua kota yang berkubu di Yehuda, di tiap-tiap kota.
19:6 And said to the judges, Take heed what all of you do: for all of you judge not for man, but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment.
6 Berpesanlah ia kepada hakim-hakim itu: "Pertimbangkanlah apa yang kamu buat, karena bukanlah untuk manusia kamu memutuskan hukum, melainkan untuk TUHAN, yang ada beserta kamu, bila kamu memutuskan hukum.
19:7 Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.
7 Sebab itu, kiranya kamu diliputi oleh rasa takut kepada TUHAN. Bertindaklah dengan seksama, karena berlaku curang, memihak ataupun menerima suap tidak ada pada TUHAN, Allah kita."
19:8 Moreover in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat set of the Levites, and of the priests, and of the chief of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment of the LORD, and for controversies, when they returned to Jerusalem.
8 Juga di Yerusalem Yosafat mengangkat beberapa orang dari antara orang Lewi, dari antara para imam dan dari antara para kepala puak Israel untuk memberi keputusan dalam hal hukum TUHAN dan dalam hal perselisihan. Mereka berkedudukan di Yerusalem.
19:9 And he charged them, saying, Thus shall all of you do in the fear of the LORD, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.
9 Ia memerintahkan mereka: "Kamu harus bertindak dengan takut akan TUHAN, dengan setia dan dengan tulus hati, demikian:
19:10 And what cause whatsoever shall come to you of your brethren that dwell in your cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and judgments, all of you shall even warn them that they trespass not against the LORD, and so wrath come upon you, and upon your brethren: this do, and all of you shall not trespass.
10 Dalam setiap perkara, yang disampaikan kepada kamu oleh rekan-rekanmu yang tinggal di kota-kota, yakni perkara-perkara mengenai penumpahan darah atau mengenai hukum, perintah, ketetapan-ketetapan dan peraturan-peraturan hendaklah kamu memperingatkan mereka, supaya mereka jangan bersalah terhadap TUHAN, sehingga murka-Nya menimpa kamu dan rekan-rekanmu. Hendaklah kamu berbuat demikian, dan kamu tidak akan bersalah.
19:11 And, behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the LORD; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, for all the king's matters: also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, and the LORD shall be with the good.
11 Dengan ini imam kepala Amarya diangkat sebagai ketuamu dalam segala perkara ketuhanan dan Zebaja bin Ismael, pemuka kaum Yehuda, dalam segala perkara kerajaan, sedang orang Lewi akan melayani kamu sebagai pengatur. Bertindaklah dengan tegas! Kiranya TUHAN menyertai orang yang tulus ikhlas."
20:1 It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.
1 Setelah itu bani Moab dan bani Amon datang berperang melawan Yosafat bersama-sama sepasukan orang Meunim.
20:2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There comes a great multitude against you from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi.
2 Datanglah orang memberitahukan Yosafat: "Suatu laskar yang besar datang dari seberang Laut Asin, dari Edom, menyerang tuanku. Sekarang mereka di Hazezon-Tamar," yakni En-Gedi.
20:3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
3 Yosafat menjadi takut, lalu mengambil keputusan untuk mencari TUHAN. Ia menyerukan kepada seluruh Yehuda supaya berpuasa.
20:4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.
4 Dan Yehuda berkumpul untuk meminta pertolongan dari pada TUHAN. Mereka datang dari semua kota di Yehuda untuk mencari TUHAN.
20:5 And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court,
5 Lalu Yosafat berdiri di tengah-tengah jemaah Yehuda dan Yerusalem di rumah TUHAN, di muka pelataran yang baru
20:6 And said, O LORD God of our fathers, are not you God in heaven? and rule not you over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in yours hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand you?
6 dan berkata: "Ya TUHAN, Allah nenek moyang kami, bukankah Engkau Allah di dalam sorga? Bukankah Engkau memerintah atas segenap kerajaan bangsa? Kuasa dan keperkasaan ada di dalam tangan-Mu, sehingga tidak ada orang yang dapat bertahan melawan Engkau.
20:7 Are not you our God, who did drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel, and gave it to the seed of Abraham your friend for ever?
7 Bukankah Engkau Allah kami yang menghalau penduduk tanah ini dari depan umat-Mu Israel, dan memberikannya kepada keturunan Abraham, sahabat-Mu itu, untuk selama-lamanya?
20:8 And they dwelt therein, and have built you a sanctuary therein for your name, saying,
8 Lalu mereka mendiami tanah itu, dan mendirikan bagi-Mu tempat kudus untuk nama-Mu. Kata mereka:
20:9 If, when evil comes upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in your presence, (for your name is in this house,) and cry unto you in our affliction, then you will hear and help.
9 Bila sesuatu malapetaka menimpa kami, yakni pedang, penghukuman, penyakit sampar atau kelaparan, kami akan berdiri di muka rumah ini, di hadapan-Mu, karena nama-Mu tinggal di dalam rumah ini. Dan kami akan berseru kepada-Mu di dalam kesesakan kami, sampai Engkau mendengar dan menyelamatkan kami.
20:10 And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom you would not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;
10 Sekarang, lihatlah, bani Amon dan Moab, dan orang-orang dari pegunungan Seir ini! Ketika orang Israel datang dari tanah Mesir, Engkau melarang mereka memasuki negerinya. Oleh sebab itu mereka menjauhinya dan tidak memusnahkannya.
20:11 Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of your possession, which you have given us to inherit.
11 Lihatlah, sebagai pembalasan mereka datang mengusir kami dari tanah milik yang telah Engkau wariskan kepada kami.
20:12 O our God, will you not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that comes against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon you.
12 Ya Allah kami, tidakkah Engkau akan menghukum mereka? Karena kami tidak mempunyai kekuatan untuk menghadapi laskar yang besar ini, yang datang menyerang kami. Kami tidak tahu apa yang harus kami lakukan, tetapi mata kami tertuju kepada-Mu."
20:13 And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.
13 Sementara itu seluruh Yehuda berdiri di hadapan TUHAN, juga segenap keluarga mereka dengan isteri dan anak-anak mereka.
20:14 Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation;
14 Lalu Yahaziel bin Zakharia bin Benaya bin Matanya, seorang Lewi dari bani Asaf, dihinggapi Roh TUHAN di tengah-tengah jemaah,
20:15 And he said, Hearken all of you, all Judah, and all of you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you king Jehoshaphat, Thus says the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.
15 dan berseru: "Camkanlah, hai seluruh Yehuda dan penduduk Yerusalem dan tuanku raja Yosafat, beginilah firman TUHAN kepadamu: Janganlah kamu takut dan terkejut karena laskar yang besar ini, sebab bukan kamu yang akan berperang melainkan Allah.
20:16 Tomorrow go all of you down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and all of you shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.
16 Besok haruslah kamu turun menyerang mereka. Mereka akan mendaki pendakian Zis, dan kamu akan mendapati mereka di ujung lembah, di muka padang gurun Yeruel.
20:17 All of you shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand all of you still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.
17 Dalam peperangan ini tidak usah kamu bertempur. Hai Yehuda dan Yerusalem, tinggallah berdiri di tempatmu, dan lihatlah bagaimana TUHAN memberikan kemenangan kepadamu. Janganlah kamu takut dan terkejut. Majulah besok menghadapi mereka, TUHAN akan menyertai kamu."
20:18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD.
18 Lalu berlututlah Yosafat dengan mukanya ke tanah. Seluruh Yehuda dan penduduk Yerusalempun sujud di hadapan TUHAN dan menyembah kepada-Nya.
20:19 And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high.
19 Kemudian orang Lewi dari bani Kehat dan bani Korah bangkit berdiri untuk menyanyikan puji-pujian bagi TUHAN, Allah Israel, dengan suara yang sangat nyaring.
20:20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and all of you inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall all of you be established; believe his prophets, so shall all of you prosper.
20 Keesokan harinya pagi-pagi mereka maju menuju padang gurun Tekoa. Ketika mereka hendak berangkat, berdirilah Yosafat, dan berkata: "Dengar, hai Yehuda dan penduduk Yerusalem! Percayalah kepada TUHAN, Allahmu, dan kamu akan tetap teguh! Percayalah kepada nabi-nabi-Nya, dan kamu akan berhasil!"
20:21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endures for ever.
21 Setelah ia berunding dengan rakyat, ia mengangkat orang-orang yang akan menyanyi nyanyian untuk TUHAN dan memuji TUHAN dalam pakaian kudus yang semarak pada waktu mereka keluar di muka orang-orang bersenjata, sambil berkata: "Nyanyikanlah nyanyian syukur bagi TUHAN, bahwasanya untuk selama-lamanya kasih setia-Nya!"
20:22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
22 Ketika mereka mulai bersorak-sorai dan menyanyikan nyanyian pujian, dibuat Tuhanlah penghadangan terhadap bani Amon dan Moab, dan orang-orang dari pegunungan Seir, yang hendak menyerang Yehuda, sehingga mereka terpukul kalah.
20:23 For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.
23 Lalu bani Amon dan Moab berdiri menentang penduduk pegunungan Seir hendak menumpas dan memunahkan mereka. Segera sesudah mereka membinasakan penduduk Seir, mereka saling bunuh-membunuh.
20:24 And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped.
24 Ketika orang Yehuda tiba di tempat peninjauan di padang gurun, mereka menengok ke tempat laskar itu. Tampaklah semua telah menjadi bangkai berhantaran di tanah, tidak ada yang terluput.
20:25 And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much.
25 Lalu Yosafat dan orang-orangnya turun untuk menjarah barang-barang mereka. Mereka menemukan banyak ternak, harta milik, pakaian dan barang-barang berharga. Yang mereka rampas itu lebih banyak dari pada yang dapat dibawa. Tiga hari lamanya mereka menjarah barang-barang itu, karena begitu banyaknya.
20:26 And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the LORD: therefore the name of the same place was called, The valley of Berachah, unto this day.
26 Pada hari keempat mereka berkumpul di Lembah Pujian. Di sanalah mereka memuji TUHAN, dan itulah sebabnya orang menamakan tempat itu Lembah Pujian hingga sekarang.
20:27 Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in the forefront of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the LORD had made them to rejoice over their enemies.
27 Lalu pulanglah sekalian orang Yehuda dan Yerusalem dengan Yosafat di depan. Mereka kembali ke Yerusalem dengan sukacita, karena TUHAN telah membuat mereka bersukacita karena kekalahan musuh mereka.
20:28 And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets unto the house of the LORD.
28 Mereka masuk ke Yerusalem dengan gambus dan kecapi dan nafiri, lalu menuju rumah TUHAN.
20:29 And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel.
29 Ketakutan yang dari Allah menghinggapi semua kerajaan negeri-negeri lain, ketika mereka mendengar, bahwa TUHAN yang berperang melawan musuh-musuh Israel.
20:30 So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet: for his God gave him rest round about.
30 Dan kerajaan Yosafat amanlah, karena Allahnya mengaruniakan keamanan kepadanya di segala penjuru.
20:31 And Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah: he was thirty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
31 Yosafat memerintah atas Yehuda. Ia berumur tiga puluh lima tahun pada waktu ia menjadi raja dan dua puluh lima tahun lamanya ia memerintah di Yerusalem. Nama ibunya ialah Azuba, anak Silhi.
20:32 And he walked in the way of Asa his father, and departed not from it, doing that which was right in the sight of the LORD.
32 Ia hidup mengikuti jejak Asa, ayahnya; ia tidak menyimpang dari padanya, dan melakukan apa yang benar di mata TUHAN.
20:33 Nevertheless the high places were not taken away: for as yet the people had not prepared their hearts unto the God of their fathers.
33 Hanya bukit-bukit pengorbanan tidak dijauhkan. Bangsa itu belum mengarahkan hatinya kepada Allah nenek moyang mereka.
20:34 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Jehu the son of Hanani, who is mentioned in the book of the kings of Israel.
34 Selebihnya dari riwayat Yosafat, dari awal sampai akhir, sesungguhnya semuanya itu tertulis di dalam riwayat Yehu bin Hanani, yang tercantum di dalam kitab raja-raja Israel.
20:35 And after this did Jehoshaphat king of Judah join himself with Ahaziah king of Israel, who did very wickedly:
35 Kemudian Yosafat, raja Yehuda, bersekutu dengan Ahazia, raja Israel, yang fasik perbuatannya.
20:36 And he joined himself with him to make ships to go to Tarshish: and they made the ships in Eziongaber.
36 Ia bersekutu dengan Ahazia untuk membuat kapal-kapal yang dapat berlayar ke Tarsis. Kapal-kapal itu dibuat mereka di Ezion-Geber.
20:37 Then Eliezer the son of Dodavah of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because you have joined yourself with Ahaziah, the LORD has broken your works. And the ships were broken, that they were not able to go to Tarshish.
37 Tetapi Eliezer bin Dodawa dari Maresa bernubuat terhadap Yosafat, katanya: "Karena engkau bersekutu dengan Ahazia, maka TUHAN akan merobohkan pekerjaanmu." Lalu kapal-kapal itu pecah, dan tak dapat berlayar ke Tarsis.
21:1 Now Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And Jehoram his son reigned in his position.
1 Kemudian Yosafat mendapat perhentian bersama-sama dengan nenek moyangnya, dan ia dikuburkan di samping nenek moyangnya di kota Daud. Maka Yoram, anaknya, menjadi raja menggantikan dia.
21:2 And he had brethren the sons of Jehoshaphat, Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah: all these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.
2 Saudara-saudaranya, anak-anak Yosafat, ialah: Azarya, Yehiel, Zakharia, Azariahu, Mikhael dan Sefaca. Mereka semua anak-anak Yosafat, raja Israel.
21:3 And their father gave them great gifts of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fenced cities in Judah: but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram; because he was the firstborn.
3 Ayahnya memberikan kepada mereka banyak pemberian, berupa emas dan perak dan barang-barang berharga, juga kota-kota berkubu di Yehuda. Tetapi kedudukan raja diberikannya kepada Yoram, karena dialah anak sulungnya.
21:4 Now when Jehoram was risen up to the kingdom of his father, he strengthened himself, and slew all his brethren with the sword, and divers also of the princes of Israel.
4 Sesudah Yoram memegang pemerintahan atas kerajaan ayahnya dan merasa dirinya kuat, ia membunuh dengan pedang semua saudaranya dan juga beberapa pembesar Israel.
21:5 Jehoram was thirty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
5 Yoram berumur tiga puluh dua tahun pada waktu ia menjadi raja dan delapan tahun lamanya ia memerintah di Yerusalem.
21:6 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, like did the house of Ahab: for he had the daughter of Ahab to wife: and he wrought that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD.
6 Ia hidup menurut kelakuan raja-raja Israel seperti yang dilakukan keluarga Ahab, sebab yang menjadi isterinya adalah anak Ahab. Ia melakukan apa yang jahat di mata TUHAN.
21:7 Nevertheless the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever.
7 Namun demikian, TUHAN tidak mau memusnahkan keluarga Daud oleh karena perjanjian yang diikat-Nya dengan Daud, sesuai dengan yang dijanjikan-Nya, bahwa Ia hendak memberikan keturunan kepadanya dan kepada anak-anaknya untuk selama-lamanya.
21:8 In his days the Edomites revolted from under the dominion of Judah, and made themselves a king.
8 Pada zamannya memberontaklah Edom terhadap kekuasaan Yehuda dan mereka mengangkat seorang raja atas mereka sendiri.
21:9 Then Jehoram went forth with his princes, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and stroke the Edomites which compassed him in, and the captains of the chariots.
9 Maka majulah Yoram dengan panglima-panglimanya serta seluruh keretanya; pada waktu malam bangunlah ia, lalu bersama-sama dengan para panglima pasukan kereta ia menerobos barisan orang Edom yang mengepung dia.
21:10 So the Edomites revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. The same time also did Libnah revolt from under his hand; because he had forsaken the LORD God of his fathers.
10 Demikianlah Edom memberontak kekuasaan Yehuda dan terlepas sampai sekarang ini. Lalu Libnapun memberontak terhadap kekuasaannya pada masa itu juga. Itu disebabkan karena ia telah meninggalkan TUHAN, Allah nenek moyangnya.
21:11 Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, and compelled Judah thereto.
11 Lagipula ia membuat bukit-bukit pengorbanan di gunung-gunung Yehuda. Ia membujuk penduduk Yerusalem untuk berzinah dan ia menyesatkan Yehuda.
21:12 And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus says the LORD God of David your father, Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,
12 Lalu sampailah kepadanya sebuah surat dari nabi Elia yang bunyinya: "Beginilah firman TUHAN, Allah Daud, bapa leluhurmu: Karena engkau tidak hidup mengikuti jejak Yosafat, ayahmu, dan Asa, raja Yehuda,
21:13 But have walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and have made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go a whoring, like to the whoredoms of the house of Ahab, and also have slain your brethren of your father's house, which were better than yourself:
13 melainkan hidup menurut kelakuan raja-raja Israel dan membujuk Yehuda dan penduduk-penduduk Yerusalem untuk berzinah, sama seperti yang dilakukan keluarga Ahab, dan juga karena engkau telah membunuh saudara-saudaramu, seluruh keluarga ayahmu yang lebih baik dari padamu,
21:14 Behold, with a great plague will the LORD strike your people, and your children, and your wives, and all your goods:
14 maka TUHAN akan mendatangkan tulah besar atas rakyatmu, anak-anakmu, isteri-isterimu, dan atas semua harta milikmu.
21:15 And you shall have great sickness by disease of your bowels, until your bowels fall out by reason of the sickness day by day.
15 Dan engkau sendiri akan menderita penyakit yang dahsyat, suatu penyakit usus, hingga selang beberapa waktu ususmu keluar oleh karena penyakit itu."
21:16 Moreover the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, that were near the Ethiopians:
16 Lalu TUHAN menggerakkan hati orang Filistin dan orang Arab yang tinggal berdekatan dengan orang Etiopia untuk melawan Yoram.
21:17 And they came up into Judah, and brake into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king's house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was not a son left him, save Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.
17 Maka mereka maju melawan Yehuda, memasukinya dan mengangkut segala harta milik yang terdapat di dalam istana raja sebagai jarahan, juga anak-anak dan isteri-isterinya, sehingga tidak ada seorang anak yang tinggal padanya kecuali Yoahas, anaknya yang bungsu.
21:18 And after all this the LORD stroke him in his bowels with an incurable disease.
18 Sesudah semuanya ini TUHAN menulahinya dengan penyakit usus yang tidak dapat sembuh.
21:19 And it came to pass, that in process of time, after the end of two years, his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness: so he died of sore diseases. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers.
19 Beberapa waktu berselang, kira-kira sesudah lewat dua tahun, keluarlah ususnya karena penyakitnya itu, lalu ia mati dengan penderitaan yang hebat. Rakyatnya tidak menyalakan api baginya seperti yang diperbuat mereka bagi nenek moyangnya.
21:20 Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years, and departed without being desired. Nevertheless they buried him in the city of David, but not in the sepulchers of the kings.
20 Ia berumur tiga puluh dua tahun pada waktu ia menjadi raja dan delapan tahun lamanya ia memerintah di Yerusalem. Ia meninggal dengan tidak dicintai orang. Ia dikuburkan di kota Daud, tetapi tidak di dalam pekuburan raja-raja.
22:1 And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest son king in his position: for the band of men that came with the Arabians to the camp had slain all the eldest. So Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah reigned.
1 Lalu penduduk Yerusalem mengangkat Ahazia, anaknya yang bungsu, menjadi raja menggantikan dia, karena semua anaknya yang lebih tua umurnya telah dibunuh oleh gerombolan yang datang ke tempat perkemahan bersama-sama orang-orang Arab. Dengan demikian Ahazia, anak Yoram raja Yehuda, menjadi raja.
22:2 Forty and two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Athaliah the daughter of Omri.
2 Ahazia berumur empat puluh dua tahun pada waktu ia menjadi raja dan setahun lamanya ia memerintah di Yerusalem. Nama ibunya ialah Atalya, cucu Omri.
22:3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab: for his mother was his counsellor to do wickedly.
3 Iapun hidup menurut kelakuan keluarga Ahab, karena ibunya menasihatinya untuk melakukan yang jahat.
22:4 Wherefore he did evil in the sight of the LORD like the house of Ahab: for they were his counsellors after the death of his father to his destruction.
4 Ia melakukan apa yang jahat di mata TUHAN sama seperti keluarga Ahab, sebab sesudah ayahnya mati mereka menjadi penasihat-penasihatnya yang mencelakakannya.
22:5 He walked also after their counsel, and went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of Israel to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramothgilead: and the Syrians stroke Joram.
5 Atas nasihat mereka pula ia pergi bersama-sama Yoram bin Ahab, raja Israel, untuk berperang melawan Hazael, raja Aram, di Ramot-Gilead. Tetapi orang-orang Aram melukai Yoram.
22:6 And he returned to be healed in Jezreel because of the wounds which were given him at Ramah, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria. And Azariah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Jehoram the son of Ahab at Jezreel, because he was sick.
6 Kemudian pulanglah ia ke Yizreel untuk diobati oleh karena luka-luka yang didapatnya di Rama pada waktu ia berperang melawan Hazael, raja Aram. Dan Ahazia, anak Yoram raja Yehuda, pergi menjenguk Yoram bin Ahab di Yizreel, karena dia sakit.
22:7 And the destruction of Ahaziah was of God by coming to Joram: for when he was come, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu the son of Nimshi, whom the LORD had anointed to cut off the house of Ahab.
7 Telah ditentukan Allah, bahwa Ahazia akan menemui ajalnya pada waktu ia mengunjungi Yoram; maka ketika Ahazia datang, pergilah ia bersama-sama Yoram mendapatkan Yehu, cucu Nimsi, yang telah diurapi TUHAN, supaya dialah yang melenyapkan keluarga Ahab.
22:8 And it came to pass, that, when Jehu was executing judgment upon the house of Ahab, and found the princes of Judah, and the sons of the brethren of Ahaziah, that ministered to Ahaziah, he slew them.
8 Sementara Yehu melakukan penghukuman atas keluarga Ahab, ia menjumpai pembesar-pembesar Yehuda dan anak-anak saudara-saudara Ahazia, yang melayani Ahazia. Juga mereka dibunuhnya.
22:9 And he sought Ahaziah: and they caught him, (for he was hid in Samaria,) and brought him to Jehu: and when they had slain him, they buried him: Because, said they, he is the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart. So the house of Ahaziah had no power to keep still the kingdom.
9 Lalu ia mencari Ahazia; Ahazia tertangkap ketika ia bersembunyi di Samaria. Ia dibawa kepada Yehu, lalu dibunuh, tetapi dikuburkan juga, karena kata orang: "Dia ini cucu Yosafat, yang mencari TUHAN dengan segenap hatinya." Dari keluarga Ahazia tidak ada lagi yang sanggup memerintah.
22:10 But when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal of the house of Judah.
10 Ketika Atalya, ibu Ahazia, melihat bahwa anaknya sudah mati, maka bangkitlah ia membinasakan semua keturunan raja dari kaum Yehuda.
22:11 But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king's sons that were slain, and put him and his nurse in a bedchamber. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of king Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest, (for she was the sister of Ahaziah,) hid him from Athaliah, so that she slew him not.
11 Tetapi Yosabat, anak perempuan raja, mengambil Yoas bin Ahazia, menculik dia dari tengah-tengah anak-anak raja yang hendak dibunuh itu, memasukkan dia dengan inang penyusunya ke dalam gudang tempat tidur. Demikianlah Yosabat, anak perempuan raja Yoram, isteri imam Yoyada, --ia adalah saudara perempuan Ahazia--menyembunyikan dia terhadap Atalya, sehingga ia tidak dibunuh Atalya.
22:12 And he was with them hid in the house of God six years: and Athaliah reigned over the land.
12 Maka tinggallah Yoas enam tahun lamanya bersama-sama mereka dengan bersembunyi di rumah Allah, sementara Atalya memerintah negeri.
23:1 And in the seventh year Jehoiada strengthened himself, and took the captains of hundreds, Azariah the son of Jeroham, and Ishmael the son of Jehohanan, and Azariah the son of Obed, and Maaseiah the son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat the son of Zichri, into covenant with him.
1 Tetapi dalam tahun ketujuh Yoyada memberanikan diri dan ia mengadakan persepakatan dengan para kepala pasukan seratus, yakni: Azarya bin Yeroham, Ismael bin Yohanan, Azarya bin Obed. Maaseya bin Adaya, dan Elisafat bin Zikhri.
23:2 And they went about in Judah, and gathered the Levites out of all the cities of Judah, and the chief of the fathers of Israel, and they came to Jerusalem.
2 Mereka mengelilingi Yehuda dan mengumpulkan orang-orang Lewi dari semua kota di Yehuda serta kepala-kepala puak orang Israel, dan mereka semua datang ke Yerusalem.
23:3 And all the congregation made a covenant with the king in the house of God. And he said unto them, Behold, the king's son shall reign, as the LORD has said of the sons of David.
3 Lalu seluruh jemaah itu mengikat perjanjian dengan raja di rumah Allah. Kata Yoyada kepada mereka: "Lihatlah, anak raja! Biarlah ia memerintah, seperti yang telah difirmankan TUHAN tentang anak-anak Daud!
23:4 This is the thing that all of you shall do; A third part of you entering on the sabbath, of the priests and of the Levites, shall be porters of the doors;
4 Inilah yang harus kamu lakukan: sepertiga dari kamu, yakni yang selesai bertugas pada hari Sabat, baik imam maupun orang Lewi, haruslah menjadi penunggu pintu,
23:5 And a third part shall be at the king's house; and a third part at the gate of the foundation: and all the people shall be in the courts of the house of the LORD.
5 sepertiga lagi haruslah berada di istana raja, dan sepertiga pula di pintu gerbang Dasar, sedang seluruh rakyat haruslah berada di pelataran rumah TUHAN.
23:6 But let none come into the house of the LORD, save the priests, and they that minister of the Levites; they shall go in, for they are holy: but all the people shall keep the watch of the LORD.
6 Siapapun tidak boleh memasuki rumah TUHAN selain dari pada para imam dan orang-orang Lewi yang bertugas. Mereka boleh masuk, karena mereka kudus, tetapi seluruh rakyat haruslah mentaati peraturan TUHAN.
23:7 And the Levites shall compass the king round about, every man with his weapons in his hand; and whosoever else comes into the house, he shall be put to death: but be all of you with the king when he comes in, and when he goes out.
7 Dalam pada itu orang-orang Lewi haruslah mengelilingi raja dari segala penjuru, masing-masing dengan senjatanya di tangannya, dan siapa yang memasuki rumah itu haruslah dibunuh. Dan baiklah kamu menyertai raja setiap kali ia keluar atau masuk."
23:8 So the Levites and all Judah did according to all things that Jehoiada the priest had commanded, and took every man his men that were to come in on the sabbath, with them that were to go out on the sabbath: for Jehoiada the priest dismissed not the courses.
8 Orang-orang Lewi dan seluruh Yehuda melakukan tepat seperti yang diperintahkan imam Yoyada. Masing-masing mengambil orang-orangnya yang selesai bertugas pada hari Sabat bersama-sama dengan orang-orang yang masuk bertugas pada hari itu, karena imam Yoyada tidak membebaskan rombongan-rombongan itu.
23:9 Moreover Jehoiada the priest delivered to the captains of hundreds spears, and bucklers, and shields, that had been king David's, which were in the house of God.
9 Lalu imam Yoyada memberikan kepada para kepala pasukan seratus itu tombak-tombak, utar-utar dan perisai-perisai kepunyaan raja Daud yang ada di rumah Allah.
23:10 And he set all the people, every man having his weapon in his hand, from the right side of the temple to the left side of the temple, along by the altar and the temple, by the king round about.
10 Ia menempatkan seluruh rakyat, masing-masing dengan lembing di tangannya, di lambung kanan sampai ke lambung kiri rumah itu, dengan mengelilingi mezbah dan rumah itu untuk melindungi raja.
23:11 Then they brought out the king's son, and put upon him the crown, and gave him the testimony, and made him king. And Jehoiada and his sons anointed him, and said, God save the king.
11 Sesudah itu Yoyada dan anak-anaknya membawa anak raja itu ke luar, mengenakan jejamang kepadanya dan memberikan hukum Allah kepadanya. Mereka menobatkan dia menjadi raja serta mengurapinya, lalu berserulah rakyat: "Hiduplah raja!"
23:12 Now when Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king, she came to the people into the house of the LORD:
12 Ketika Atalya mendengar pekik rakyat yang berlari-lari menyambut raja dan memuji-muji dia, pergilah ia mendapatkan rakyat itu ke dalam rumah TUHAN.
23:13 And she looked, and, behold, the king stood at his pillar at the entering in, and the princes and the trumpets by the king: and all the people of the land rejoiced, and sounded with trumpets, also the singers with instruments of music, and such as taught to sing praise. Then Athaliah rent her clothes, and said, Treason, Treason.
13 Lalu dilihatnyalah raja berdiri dekat tiangnya pada jalan masuk, sedang para pemimpin dengan para pemegang nafiri ada dekat raja. Dan seluruh rakyat negeri bersukaria sambil meniup nafiri, sedang para penyanyi dengan alat-alat musik mereka, memimpin nyanyian puji-pujian. Maka Atalya mengoyakkan pakaiannya sambil berkata: "Khianat, khianat!"
23:14 Then Jehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds that were set over the host, and said unto them, Have her out of the ranges: and whoso follows her, let him be slain with the sword. For the priest said, Slay her not in the house of the LORD.
14 Tetapi imam Yoyada menyuruh keluar para kepala pasukan seratus, yakni orang-orang yang mengepalai tentara, katanya kepada mereka: "Bawalah dia keluar dari antara barisan! Siapa yang memihak kepadanya harus dibunuh dengan pedang!" Sebab imam itu telah berkata tadinya: "Jangan kamu membunuhnya di rumah TUHAN!"
23:15 So they laid hands on her; and when she was come to the entering of the horse gate by the king's house, they slew her there.
15 Lalu mereka menangkap perempuan itu. Pada waktu ia sampai ke jalan masuk istana raja pada pintu gerbang Kuda, dibunuhlah ia di situ.
23:16 And Jehoiada made a covenant between him, and between all the people, and between the king, that they should be the LORD's people.
16 Kemudian Yoyada mengikat perjanjian antara dia dengan segenap rakyat dan raja, bahwa mereka menjadi umat TUHAN.
23:17 Then all the people went to the house of Baal, and brake it down, and brake his altars and his images in pieces, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars.
17 Sesudah itu masuklah seluruh rakyat ke rumah Baal, lalu merobohkannya; mereka memecahkan mezbah-mezbahnya dan patung-patungnya dan membunuh Matan, imam Baal, di depan mezbah-mezbah itu.
23:18 Also Jehoiada appointed the offices of the house of the LORD by the hand of the priests the Levites, whom David had distributed in the house of the LORD, to offer the burnt offerings of the LORD, as it is written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, as it was ordained by David.
18 Kemudian Yoyada menyerahkan pengawasan atas rumah TUHAN kepada imam-imam dan orang-orang Lewi, yang telah dibagi-bagi dalam rombongan oleh Daud untuk bertugas di dalam rumah TUHAN, yakni untuk mempersembahkan korban bakaran kepada TUHAN--seperti tertulis di dalam Taurat Musa--dengan sukaria dan dengan nyanyian menurut petunjuk Daud.
23:19 And he set the porters at the gates of the house of the LORD, that none which was unclean in any thing should enter in.
19 Juga ditempatkannya penunggu-penunggu pintu pada pintu-pintu gerbang rumah TUHAN, supaya dalam hal apapun juga jangan masuk seseorang yang najis.
23:20 And he took the captains of hundreds, and the nobles, and the governors of the people, and all the people of the land, and brought down the king from the house of the LORD: and they came through the high gate into the king's house, and set the king upon the throne of the kingdom.
20 Sesudah itu ia mengajak para kepala pasukan seratus, para pemuka, para pemerintah rakyat dan seluruh rakyat negeri, lalu membawa raja turun dari rumah TUHAN; mereka masuk ke istana raja melalui pintu gerbang Atas, lalu mendudukkan raja ke atas takhta kerajaan.
23:21 And all the people of the land rejoiced: and the city was quiet, after that they had slain Athaliah with the sword.
21 Bersukarialah seluruh rakyat negeri dan amanlah kota itu, setelah Atalya mati dibunuh dengan pedang.
24:1 Joash was seven years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Zibiah of Beersheba.
1 Yoas berumur tujuh tahun pada waktu ia menjadi raja, dan empat puluh tahun lamanya ia memerintah di Yerusalem. Nama ibunya ialah Zibya, dari Bersyeba.
24:2 And Joash did that which was right in the sight of the LORD all the days of Jehoiada the priest.
2 Yoas melakukan apa yang benar di mata TUHAN selama hidup imam Yoyada.
24:3 And Jehoiada took for him two wives; and he brings forth sons and daughters.
3 Yoyada mengambil dua orang isteri bagi dia; dari mereka ia mendapat anak laki-laki dan anak perempuan.
24:4 And it came to pass after this, that Joash was minded to repair the house of the LORD.
4 Kemudian Yoas bermaksud untuk membaharui rumah TUHAN.
24:5 And he gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them, Go out unto the cities of Judah, and gather of all Israel money to repair the house of your God from year to year, and see that all of you hasten the matter. Nevertheless the Levites hastened it not.
5 Ia mengumpulkan para imam dan orang Lewi dan berkata kepada mereka: "Pergilah kamu ke kota-kota Yehuda dan kumpulkanlah uang dari seluruh orang Israel untuk memperbaiki rumah Allahmu setiap tahun. Lakukanlah hal itu dengan segera!" Tetapi orang Lewi itu tidak melakukannya dengan segera.
24:6 And the king called for Jehoiada the chief, and said unto him, Why have you not required of the Levites to bring in out of Judah and out of Jerusalem the collection, according to the commandment of Moses the servant of the LORD, and of the congregation of Israel, for the tabernacle of witness?
6 Lalu raja memanggil imam kepala Yoyada dan bertanya kepadanya: "Mengapa engkau tidak menuntut kepada orang-orang Lewi untuk membawa dari Yehuda dan dari Yerusalem pajak yang dikenakan Musa, hamba Allah itu, kepada jemaah Israel untuk Kemah tempat hukum Allah?
24:7 For the sons of Athaliah, that wicked woman, had broken up the house of God; and also all the dedicated things of the house of the LORD did they bestow upon Baalim.
7 Sebab anak-anak Atalya, perempuan fasik itu, telah membongkar rumah Allah, bahkan memakai barang-barang kudus rumah TUHAN untuk para Baal."
24:8 And at the king's commandment they made a chest, and set it without at the gate of the house of the LORD.
8 Sesudah itu raja memerintahkan supaya dibuat sebuah peti dan ditempatkan di depan pintu gerbang rumah TUHAN,
24:9 And they made a proclamation through Judah and Jerusalem, to bring in to the LORD the collection that Moses the servant of God laid upon Israel in the wilderness.
9 lalu menyuruh mengumumkan di Yehuda dan di Yerusalem, bahwa orang harus membawa bagi TUHAN pajak yang dikenakan Musa, hamba Allah itu, kepada orang Israel di padang gurun.
24:10 And all the princes and all the people rejoiced, and brought in, and cast into the chest, until they had made an end.
10 Maka bersukacitalah semua pemimpin dan seluruh rakyat; mereka datang membawa pajaknya dan memasukkannya ke dalam peti itu sampai penuh.
24:11 Now it came to pass, that at what time the chest was brought unto the king's office by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that there was much money, the king's scribe and the high priest's officer came and emptied the chest, and took it, and carried it to his place again. Thus they did day by day, and gathered money in abundance.
11 Setiap kali peti itu dibawa masuk untuk diperiksa oleh orang-orang Lewi atas nama raja, dan apabila mereka melihat bahwa sudah banyak uang di dalamnya, maka datanglah panitera raja dan kuasa usaha imam kepala mengeluarkan isi peti itu; kemudian mereka mengangkat peti itu, lalu menaruhnya pula di tempatnya. Demikianlah mereka lakukan setiap kali, dan banyaklah uang yang dikumpulkan.
24:12 And the king and Jehoiada gave it to such as did the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and hired stone workers and carpenters to repair the house of the LORD, and also such as wrought iron and brass to mend the house of the LORD.
12 Raja dan Yoyada menyerahkan uang itu kepada mereka yang memanduri pekerjaan pada rumah TUHAN. Mereka ini mengupah tukang-tukang pahat dan tukang-tukang kayu untuk membaharui rumah TUHAN; juga tukang-tukang besi dan tembaga untuk memperbaiki rumah TUHAN.
24:13 So the workmen wrought, and the work was perfected by them, and they set the house of God in his state, and strengthened it.
13 Setelah itu mulailah tukang-tukang itu bekerja; pekerjaan perbaikan maju di bawah tangan mereka. Mereka membangun kembali rumah Allah menurut keadaannya semula dan mengokohkannya.
24:14 And when they had finished it, they brought the rest of the money before the king and Jehoiada, whereof were made vessels for the house of the LORD, even vessels to minister, and to offer likewise, and spoons, and vessels of gold and silver. And they offered burnt offerings in the house of the LORD continually all the days of Jehoiada.
14 Setelah mereka selesai, mereka membawa uang yang kelebihan kepada raja dan Yoyada. Uang itu dipakai untuk membuat perkakas-perkakas rumah TUHAN, yakni: perkakas-perkakas untuk penyelenggaraan kebaktian, perkakas-perkakas untuk korban bakaran, juga cawan-cawan dan perkakas-perkakas emas dan perak. Sepanjang umur Yoyada korban bakaran tetap dipersembahkan dalam rumah TUHAN.
24:15 But Jehoiada waxed old, and was full of days when he died; an hundred and thirty years old was he when he died.
15 Yoyada menjadi tua, dan lanjut umur, lalu matilah ia. Seratus tiga puluh tahun umurnya ketika ia mati.
24:16 And they buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel, both toward God, and toward his house.
16 Ia dikuburkan di kota Daud di samping raja-raja, karena perbuatan-perbuat yang baik di Israel terhadap Allah dan rumah-Nya.
24:17 Now after the death of Jehoiada came the princes of Judah, and made reverence to the king. Then the king hearkened unto them.
17 Sesudah Yoyada mati, pemimpin-pemimpin Yehuda datang menyembah kepada raja. Sejak itu raja mendengarkan mereka.
24:18 And they left the house of the LORD God of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their trespass.
18 Mereka meninggalkan rumah TUHAN, Allah nenek moyang mereka, lalu beribadah kepada tiang-tiang berhala dan patung-patung berhala. Oleh karena kesalahan itu Yehuda dan Yerusalem tertimpa murka.
24:19 Yet he sent prophets to them, to bring them again unto the LORD; and they testified against them: but they would not give ear.
19 Namun TUHAN mengutus nabi-nabi kepada mereka, supaya mereka berbalik kepada-Nya. Nabi-nabi itu sungguh-sungguh memperingatkan mereka, tetapi mereka tidak mau mendengarkannya.
24:20 And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus says God, Why transgress all of you the commandments of the LORD, that all of you cannot prosper? because all of you have forsaken the LORD, he has also forsaken you.
20 Lalu Roh Allah menguasai Zakharia, anak imam Yoyada. Ia tampil di depan rakyat, dan berkata kepada mereka: "Beginilah firman Allah: Mengapa kamu melanggar perintah-perintah TUHAN, sehingga kamu tidak beruntung? Oleh karena kamu meninggalkan TUHAN, Iapun meninggalkan kamu!"
24:21 And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of the LORD.
21 Tetapi mereka mengadakan persepakatan terhadap dia, dan atas perintah raja mereka melontari dia dengan batu di pelataran rumah TUHAN.
24:22 Thus Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said, The LORD look upon it, and require it.
22 Raja Yoas tidak mengingat kesetiaan yang ditunjukkan Yoyada, ayah Zakharia itu, terhadap dirinya. Ia membunuh anak Yoyada itu, yang pada saat kematiannya berseru: "Semoga TUHAN melihatnya dan menuntut balas!"
24:23 And it came to pass at the end of the year, that the host of Syria came up against him: and they came to Judah and Jerusalem, and destroyed all the princes of the people from among the people, and sent all the spoil of them unto the king of Damascus.
23 Pada pergantian tahun tentara Aram maju menyerang Yoas dan masuk ke Yehuda dan Yerusalem. Dari bangsa itu semua pemimpin habis dibunuh mereka dan segala jarahan dikirim mereka kepada raja negeri Damsyik.
24:24 For the army of the Syrians came with a small company of men, and the LORD delivered a very great host into their hand, because they had forsaken the LORD God of their fathers. So they executed judgment against Joash.
24 Walaupun tentara Aram itu datang dengan sedikit orang, namun TUHAN menyerahkan tentara yang sangat besar kepada mereka, karena orang Yehuda telah meninggalkan TUHAN, Allah nenek moyang mereka. Demikianlah orang Aram melakukan penghukuman kepada Yoas.
24:25 And when they were departed from him, (for they left him in great diseases,) his own servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and slew him on his bed, and he died: and they buried him in the city of David, but they buried him not in the sepulchers of the kings.
25 Ketika mereka pergi dari padanya, --mereka meninggalkannya dengan luka-luka berat--pegawai-pegawainya mengadakan persepakatan terhadap dia karena darah anak imam Yoyada itu, lalu membunuhnya di atas tempat tidurnya. Ia mati dan dikuburkan di kota Daud, tetapi tidak di pekuburan raja-raja.
24:26 And these are they that conspired against him; Zabad the son of Shimeath an Ammonitess, and Jehozabad the son of Shimrith a Moabitess.
26 Mereka yang mengadakan persepakatan terhadap dia ialah: Zabad, anak Simeat perempuan Amon, dan Yozabad, anak Simrit perempuan Moab.
24:27 Now concerning his sons, and the greatness of the burdens laid upon him, and the repairing of the house of God, behold, they are written in the story of the book of the kings. And Amaziah his son reigned in his position.
27 Tentang anak-anaknya dan ucapan-ucapan ilahi yang banyak terhadap dia, serta tentang perbaikan rumah Allah, semua itu tertulis dalam tafsiran kitab raja-raja. Maka Amazia, anaknya, menjadi raja menggantikan dia.
