11:1 나아마 사람 소발이 대답하여 가로되
11:1 Then Zophar the Naamathite made answer and said,
11:1 Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
11:2 말이 많으니 어찌 대답이 없으랴 입이 부푼 사람이 어찌 의롭다 함을 얻겠느냐
11:2 Are all these words to go unanswered? and is a man seen to be right because he is
full of talk?
11:2 Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full
of talk be justified?
11:3 네 자랑하는 말이 어떻게 사람으로 잠잠하게 하겠으며 네가 비웃으면 어찌
너를 부끄럽게 할 사람이 없겠느냐
11:3 Are your words of pride to make men keep quiet? and are you to make sport, with
no one to put you to shame?
11:3 Should your lies make men hold their peace? and when you mock, shall
no man make you ashamed?
11:4 네 말이 내 도는 정결하고 나는 주의 목전에 깨끗하다 하는구나
11:4 You may say, My way is clean, and I am free from sin in your eyes.
11:4 For you have said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in yours eyes.
11:5 하나님은 말씀을 내시며 너를 향하여 입을 여시고
11:5 But if only God would take up the word, opening his lips in argument with you;
11:5 But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against you;
11:6 지혜의 오묘로 네게 보이시기를 원하노니 이는 그의 지식이 광대하심이라
너는 알라 하나님의 벌하심이 네 죄보다 경하니라
11:6 And would make clear to you the secrets of wisdom, and the wonders of his purpose!
11:6 And that he would show you the secrets of wisdom, that they are double
to that which is! Know therefore that God exacts of you less than yours iniquity
deserves.
11:7 ○ 네가 하나님의 오묘를 어찌 능히 측량하며 전능자를 어찌 능히 온전히
알겠느냐
11:7 Are you able to take God's measure, to make discovery of the limits of the Ruler
of all?
11:7 Can you by searching find out God? can you find out the Almighty unto
perfection?
11:8 하늘보다 높으시니 네가 어찌 하겠으며 음부보다 깊으시니 네가 어찌 알겠느냐
11:8 They are higher than heaven; what is there for you to do? deeper than the underworld,
and outside your knowledge;
11:8 It is as high as heaven; what can you do? deeper than hell; what can
you know?
11:9 그 도량은 땅보다 크고 바다보다 넓으니라
11:9 Longer in measure than the earth, and wider than the sea.
11:9 The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.
11:10 하나님이 두루 다니시며 사람을 잡아 가두시고 개정하시면 누가 능히 막을소냐
11:10 If he goes on his way, shutting a man up and putting him to death, who may make
him go back from his purpose?
11:10 If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder
him?
11:11 하나님은 허망한 사람을 아시나니 악한 일은 상관치 않으시는 듯하나 다
보시느니라
11:11 For in his eyes men are as nothing; he sees evil and takes note of it.
11:11 For he knows vain men: he sees wickedness also; will he not then consider
it?
11:12 허망한 사람은 지각이 없나니 그 출생함이 들나귀 새끼 같으니라
11:12 And so a hollow-minded man will get wisdom, when a young ass of the field gets teaching.
11:12 For vain men would be wise, though man be born like a wild ass's colt.
11:13 만일 네가 마음을 바로 정하고 주를 향하여 손을 들 때에
11:13 But if you put your heart right, stretching out your hands to him;
11:13 If you prepare yours heart, and stretch out yours hands toward him;
11:14 네 손에 죄악이 있거든 멀리 버리라 불의로 네 장막에 거하지 못하게 하라
11:14 If you put far away the evil of your hands, and let no wrongdoing have a place in
your tent;
11:14 If iniquity be in yours hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness
dwell in your tabernacles.
11:15 그리하면 네가 정녕 흠 없는 얼굴을 들게 되고 굳게 서서 두려움이 없으리니
11:15 Then truly your face will be lifted up, with no mark of sin, and you will be fixed
in your place without fear:
11:15 For then shall you lift up your face without spot; yea, you shall be
steadfast, and shall not fear:
11:16 곧 네 환난을 잊을 것이라 네가 추억할지라도 물이 흘러감 같을 것이며
11:16 For your sorrow will go from your memory, like waters flowing away:
11:16 Because you shall forget your misery, and remember it as waters that
pass away:
11:17 네 생명의 날이 대낮보다 밝으리니 어두움이 있다 할지라도 아침과 같이
될 것이요
11:17 And your life will be brighter than day; though it is dark, it will become like
the morning.
11:17 And yours age shall be clearer than the noonday: you shall shine forth,
you shall be as the morning.
11:18 네가 소망이 있으므로 든든할지며 두루 살펴보고 안전히 쉬리니
11:18 And you will be safe because there is hope; after looking round, you will take your
rest in quiet;
11:18 And you shall be secure, because there is hope; yea, you shall dig
about you, and you shall take your rest in safety.
11:19 네가 누워도 두렵게 할 자가 없겠고 많은 사람이 네게 첨을 드리리라
11:19 Sleeping with no fear of danger; and men will be desiring to have grace in your
eyes;
11:19 Also you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid; yea, many
shall make suit unto you.
11:20 그러나 악한 자는 눈이 어두워서 도망할 곳을 찾지 못하리니 그의 소망은
기운이 끊침이리라
11:20 But the eyes of the evil-doers will be wasting away; their way of flight is gone,
and their only hope is the taking of their last breath.
11:20 But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and
their hope shall be as the giving up of the spirit.
12:1 욥이 대답하여 가로되
12:1 And Job made answer and said,
12:1 And Job answered and said,
12:2 너희만 참으로 사람이로구나 너희가 죽으면 지혜도 죽겠구나
12:2 No doubt you have knowledge, and wisdom will come to an end with you.
12:2 No doubt but all of you are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.
12:3 나도 너희 같이 총명이 있어 너희만 못하지 아니하니 그같은 일을 누가 알지
못하겠느냐
12:3 But I have a mind as well as you; I am equal to you: yes, who has not knowledge
of such things as these?
12:3 But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: yea,
who knows not such things as these?
12:4 하나님께 불러 아뢰어 들으심을 입은 내가 이웃에게 웃음 받는 자가 되었으니
의롭고 순전한 자가 조롱거리가 되었구나
12:4 It seems that I am to be as one who is a cause of laughing to his neighbour, one
who makes his prayer to God and is answered! the upright man who has done no wrong
is to be made sport of!
12:4 I am as one mocked of his neighbour, who calls upon God, and he answers
him: the just upright man is laughed to scorn.
12:5 평안한 자의 마음은 재앙을 멸시하나 재앙이 실족하는 자를 기다리는구나
12:5 In the thought of him who is in comfort there is no respect for one who is in trouble;
such is the fate of those whose feet are slipping.
12:5 He that is ready to slip with his feet is as a lamp despised in the
thought of him that is at ease.
12:6 강도의 장막은 형통하고 하나님을 진노케 하는 자가 평안하니 하나님이 그
손에 후히 주심이니라
12:6 There is wealth in the tents of those who make destruction, and those by whom God
is moved to wrath are safe; even those whose god is their strength.
12:6 The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure;
into whose hand God brings abundantly.
12:7 ○ 이제 모든 짐승에게 물어 보라 그것들이 네게 가르치리라 공중의 새에게
물어 보라 그것들이 또한 네게 고하리라
12:7 But put now a question to the beasts, and get teaching from them; or to the birds
of the heaven, and they will make it clear to you;
12:7 But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach you; and the fowls of the
air, and they shall tell you:
12:8 땅에게 말하라 네게 가르치리라 바다의 고기도 네게 설명하리라
12:8 Or to the things which go flat on the earth, and they will give you wisdom; and
the fishes of the sea will give you news of it.
12:8 Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach you: and the fishes of the
sea shall declare unto you.
12:9 이것들 중에 어느 것이 여호와의 손이 이를 행하신 줄을 알지 못하랴
12:9 Who does not see by all these that the hand of the Lord has done this?
12:9 Who knows not in all these that the hand of the LORD has wrought this?
12:10 생물들의 혼과 인생들의 영이 다 그의 손에 있느니라
12:10 In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all flesh of
man.
12:10 In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of
all mankind.
12:11 입이 식물의 맛을 변별함 같이 귀가 말을 분변하지 아니하느냐
12:11 Are not words tested by the ear, even as food is tasted by the mouth?
12:11 Does not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his food?
12:12 늙은 자에게는 지혜가 있고 장수하는 자에게는 명철이 있느니라
12:12 Old men have wisdom, and a long life gives knowledge.
12:12 With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.
12:13 ○ 지혜와 권능이 하나님께 있고 모략과 명철도 그에게 속하였나니
12:13 With him there is wisdom and strength; power and knowledge are his.
12:13 With him is wisdom and strength, he has counsel and understanding.
12:14 그가 헐으신즉 다시 세울 수 없고 사람을 가두신즉 놓이지 못하느니라
12:14 Truly, there is no building up of what is pulled down by him; when a man is shut
up by him, no one may let him loose.
12:14 Behold, he breaks down, and it cannot be built again: he shuts up a
man, and there can be no opening.
12:15 그가 물을 그치게 하신즉 곧 마르고 물을 내신즉 곧 땅을 뒤집나니
12:15 Truly, he keeps back the waters and they are dry; he sends them out and the earth
is overturned.
12:15 Behold, he withholds the waters, and they dry up: also he sends them
out, and they overturn the earth.
12:16 능력과 지혜가 그에게 있고 속은 자와 속이는 자가 다 그에게 속하였으므로
12:16 With him are strength and wise designs; he who is guided into error, together with
his guide, are in his hands;
12:16 With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are
his.
12:17 모사를 벌거벗겨 끌어 가시며 재판장으로 어리석은 자가 되게 하시며
12:17 He takes away the wisdom of the wise guides, and makes judges foolish;
12:17 He leads counsellors away spoiled, and makes the judges fools.
12:18 열왕의 맨 것을 풀어 그들의 허리를 동이시며
12:18 He undoes the chains of kings, and puts his band on them;
12:18 He looses the bond of kings, and girds their loins with a girdle.
12:19 제사장들을 벌거벗겨 끌어 가시고 권력이 있는 자를 넘어뜨리시며
12:19 He makes priests prisoners, overturning those in safe positions;
12:19 He leads princes away spoiled, and overthrows the mighty.
12:20 충성된 자의 말을 없이하시며 늙은 자의 지식을 빼앗으시며
12:20 He makes the words of responsible persons without effect, and takes away the good
sense of the old;
12:20 He removes away the speech of the trusty, and takes away the understanding
of the aged.
12:21 방백들에게 멸시를 쏟으시며 강한 자의 띠를 푸시며
12:21 He puts shame on chiefs, and takes away the power of the strong;
12:21 He pours contempt upon princes, and weakens the strength of the mighty.
12:22 어두운 가운데서 은밀한 것을 드러내시며 죽음의 그늘을 광명한 데로 나오게
하시며
12:22 Uncovering deep things out of the dark, and making the deep shade bright;
12:22 He discovers deep things out of darkness, and brings out to light the
shadow of death.
12:23 만국을 커지게도 하시고 다시 멸하기도 하시며 열국으로 광대하게도 하시고
다시 사로잡히게도 하시며
12:23 Increasing nations, and sending destruction on them; making wide the lands of peoples,
and then giving them up.
12:23 He increases the nations, and destroys them: he enlarges the nations,
and straitens them again.
12:24 만민의 두목들의 총명을 빼앗으시고 그들을 길 없는 거친 들로 유리하게
하시며
12:24 He takes away the wisdom of the rulers of the earth, and sends them wandering in
a waste where there is no way.
12:24 He takes away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and
causes them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.
12:25 빛 없이 캄캄한 데를 더듬게 하시며 취한 사람 같이 비틀거리게 하시느니라
12:25 They go feeling about in the dark without light, wandering without help like those
overcome with wine.
12:25 They grope in the dark without light, and he makes them to stagger
like a drunken man.
13:1 나의 눈이 이것을 다 보았고 나의 귀가 이것을 듣고 통달하였느니라
13:1 Truly, my eye has seen all this, word of it has come to my ear, and I have knowledge
of it.
13:1 Lo, mine eye has seen all this, mine ear has heard and understood it.
13:2 너희 아는 것을 나도 아노니 너희만 못한 내가 아니니라
13:2 The same things are in my mind as in yours; I am equal to you.
13:2 What all of you know, the same do I know also: I am not inferior unto
you.
13:3 참으로 나는 전능자에게 말씀하려 하며 하나님과 변론하려 하노라
13:3 But I would have talk with the Ruler of all, and my desire is to have an argument
with God.
13:3 Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.
13:4 너희는 거짓말을 지어내는 자요 다 쓸데 없는 의원이니라
13:4 But you put a false face on things; all your attempts to put things right are of
no value.
13:4 But all of you are forgers of lies, all of you are all physicians of
no value.
13:5 너희가 잠잠하고 잠잠하기를 원하노라 이것이 너희의 지혜일 것이니라
13:5 If only you would keep quiet, it would be a sign of wisdom!
13:5 O that all of you would altogether hold your peace! and it should be
your wisdom.
13:6 너희는 나의 변론을 들으며 내 입술의 변명을 들어 보라
13:6 Give ear to the argument of my mouth, and take note of the words of my lips.
13:6 Hear now my reasoning, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips.
13:7 너희가 하나님을 위하여 불의를 말하려느냐 그를 위하여 궤휼을 말하려느냐
13:7 Will you say in God's name what is not right, and put false words into his mouth?
13:7 Will all of you speak wickedly for God? and talk deceitfully for him?
13:8 너희가 하나님의 낯을 좇으려느냐 그를 위하여 쟁론하려느냐
13:8 Will you have respect for God's person in this cause, and put yourselves forward
as his supporters?
13:8 Will all of you accept his person? will all of you contend for God?
13:9 하나님이 너희를 감찰하시면 좋겠느냐 너희가 사람을 속임 같이 그를 속이려느냐
13:9 Will it be good for you to be searched out by him, or have you the thought that
he may be guided into error like a man?
13:9 Is it good that he should search you out? or as one man mocks another,
do all of you so mock him?
13:10 ○ 만일 가만히 낯을 좇을진대 그가 정녕 너희를 책망하시리니
13:10 He will certainly put you right, if you have respect for persons in secret.
13:10 He will surely reprove you, if all of you do secretly accept persons.
13:11 그 존귀가 너희를 두렵게 하지 않겠으며 그 위엄이 너희에게 임하지 않겠느냐
13:11 Will not his glory put you in fear, so that your hearts will be overcome before
him?
13:11 Shall not his excellency make you afraid? and his dread fall upon you?
13:12 너희 격언은 재 같은 속담이요 너희의 방어하는 것은 토성이니라
13:12 Your wise sayings are only dust, and your strong places are only earth.
13:12 Your remembrances are like unto ashes, your bodies to bodies of clay.
13:13 너희는 잠잠하고 나를 버려두어 말하게 하라 무슨 일이 임하든지 내가 당하리라
13:13 Keep quiet, and let me say what is in my mind, whatever may come to me.
13:13 Hold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak, and let come on me
what will.
13:14 내가 어찌하여 내 살을 내 이로 물고 내 생명을 내 손에 두겠느냐
13:14 I will take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in my hand.
13:14 Wherefore do I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in mine hand?
13:15 그가 나를 죽이시리니 내가 소망이 없노라 그러나 그의 앞에서 내 행위를
변백하리라
13:15 Truly, he will put an end to me; I have no hope; but I will not give way in argument
before him;
13:15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine
own ways before him.
13:16 사곡한 자는 그의 앞에 이르지 못하나니 이것이 나의 구원이 되리라
13:16 And that will be my salvation, for an evil-doer would not come before him,
13:16 He also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before
him.
13:17 너희는 들으라 내 말을 들으라 나의 설명을 너희 귀에 담을지니라
13:17 Give ear with care to my words, and keep what I say in your minds.
13:17 Hear diligently my speech, and my declaration with your ears.
13:18 보라 내가 내 사정을 진술하였거니와 내가 스스로 의로운 줄 아노라
13:18 See now, I have put my cause in order, and I am certain that I will be seen to be
right.
13:18 Behold now, I have ordered my cause; I know that I shall be justified.
13:19 나와 변론할 자가 누구이랴 그러면 내가 잠잠하고 기운이 끊어지리라
13:19 Is any one able to take up the argument against me? If so, I would keep quiet and
give up my breath.
13:19 Who is he that will plead with me? for now, if I hold my tongue, I
shall give up the spirit.
13:20 오직 내게 이 두 가지 일을 행하지 마옵소서 그리하시면 내가 주의 얼굴을
피하여 숨지 아니하오리니
13:20 Only two things do not do to me, then I will come before your face:
13:20 Only do not two things unto me: then will I not hide myself from you.
13:21 곧 주의 손을 내게 대지 마옵시며 주의 위엄으로 나를 두렵게 마옵실 것이니이다
13:21 Take your hand far away from me; and let me not be overcome by fear of you.
13:21 Withdraw yours hand far from me: and let not your dread make me afraid.
13:22 그리하시고 주는 나를 부르소서 내가 대답하리이다 혹 나로 말씀하게 하옵시고
주는 내게 대답하옵소서
13:22 Then at the sound of your voice I will give answer; or let me put forward my cause
for you to give me an answer.
13:22 Then call you, and I will answer: or let me speak, and answer you me.
13:23 나의 불법과 죄가 얼마나 많으니이까 나의 허물과 죄를 내게 알게 하옵소서
13:23 What is the number of my evil-doings and my sins? give me knowledge of them.
13:23 How many are mine iniquities and sins? make me to know my transgression
and my sin.
13:24 주께서 어찌하여 얼굴을 가리우시고 나를 주의 대적으로 여기시나이까
13:24 Why is your face veiled from me, as if I was numbered among your haters?
13:24 Wherefore hide you your face, and hold me for yours enemy?
13:25 주께서 어찌하여 날리는 낙엽을 놀래시며 마른 검불을 따르시나이까
13:25 Will you be hard on a leaf in flight before the wind? will you make a dry stem go
more quickly on its way?
13:25 Will you break a leaf driven back and forth? and will you pursue the
dry stubble?
13:26 주께서 나를 대적하사 괴로운 일들을 기록하시며 나로 나의 어렸을 때에
지은 죄를 받게 하시오며
13:26 For you put bitter things on record against me, and send punishment on me for the
sins of my early years;
13:26 For you write bitter things against me, and make me to possess the
iniquities of my youth.
13:27 내 발을 착고에 채우시며 나의 모든 길을 살피사 내 발자취를 한정하시나이다
13:27 And you put chains on my feet, watching all my ways, and making a limit for my steps;
13:27 You put my feet also in the stocks, and look narrowly unto all my paths;
you set a print upon the heels of my feet.
13:28 나는 썩은 물건의 후패함 같으며 좀 먹은 의복 같으니이다
13:28 Though a man comes to nothing like a bit of dead wood, or like a robe which has
become food for the worm.
13:28 And he, as a rotten thing, consumes, as a garment that is moth eaten.
14:1 여인에게서 난 사람은 사는 날이 적고 괴로움이 가득하며
14:1 As for man, the son of woman, his days are short and full of trouble.
14:1 Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.
14:2 그 발생함이 꽃과 같아서 쇠하여지고 그림자 같이 신속하여서 머물지 아니하거늘
14:2 He comes out like a flower, and is cut down: he goes in flight like a shade, and
is never seen again.
14:2 He comes forth like a flower, and is cut down: he flees also as a shadow,
and continues not.
14:3 이와 같은 자를 주께서 눈을 들어 살피시나이까 나를 주의 앞으로 이끌어서
심문하시나이까
14:3 Is it on such a one as this that your eyes are fixed, with the purpose of judging
him?
14:3 And does you open yours eyes upon such an one, and bring me into judgment
with you?
14:4 누가 깨끗한 것을 더러운 것 가운데서 낼 수 있으리이까 하나도 없나이다
14:4 If only a clean thing might come out of an unclean! But it is not possible.
14:4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.
14:5 그 날을 정하셨고 그 달 수도 주께 있으므로 그 제한을 정하여 넘어가지
못하게 하셨사온즉
14:5 If his days are ordered, and you have knowledge of the number of his months, having
given him a fixed limit past which he may not go;
14:5 Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with you,
you have appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;
14:6 그에게서 눈을 돌이켜 그로 쉬게 하사 품군 같이 그 날을 마치게 하옵소서
14:6 Let your eyes be turned away from him, and take your hand from him, so that he may
have pleasure at the end of his day, like a servant working for payment.
14:6 Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as a worker,
his day.
14:7 나무는 소망이 있나니 찍힐지라도 다시 움이 나서 연한 가지가 끊이지 아니하며
14:7 For there is hope of a tree; if it is cut down, it will come to life again, and
its branches will not come to an end.
14:7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout
again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
14:8 그 뿌리가 땅에서 늙고 줄기가 흙에서 죽을지라도
14:8 Though its root may be old in the earth, and its cut-off end may be dead in the
dust;
14:8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof
die in the ground;
14:9 물 기운에 움이 돋고 가지가 발하여 새로 심은 것과 같거니와
14:9 Still, at the smell of water, it will make buds, and put out branches like a young
plant.
14:9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like
a plant.
14:10 사람은 죽으면 소멸되나니 그 기운이 끊어진즉 그가 어디 있느뇨
14:10 But man comes to his death and is gone: he gives up his spirit, and where is he?
14:10 But man dies, and wastes away: yea, man gives up the spirit, and where
is he?
14:11 물이 바다에서 줄어지고 하수가 잦아서 마름 같이
14:11 The waters go from a pool, and a river becomes waste and dry;
14:11 As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decays and dries up:
14:12 사람이 누우면 다시 일어나지 못하고 하늘이 없어지기까지 눈을 뜨지 못하며
잠을 깨지 못하느니라
14:12 So man goes down to his last resting-place and comes not again: till the heavens
come to an end, they will not be awake or come out of their sleep.
14:12 So man lies down, and rises not: till the heavens be no more, they
shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.
14:13 주는 나를 음부에 감추시며 주의 진노가 쉴 때까지 나를 숨기시고 나를
위하여 기한을 정하시고 나를 기억하옵소서
14:13 If only you would keep me safe in the underworld, putting me in a secret place till
your wrath is past, giving me a fixed time when I might come to your memory again!
14:13 O that you would hide me in the grave, that you would keep me secret,
until your wrath be past, that you would appoint me a set time, and remember
me!
14:14 사람이 죽으면 어찌 다시 살리이까 나는 나의 싸우는 모든 날 동안을 참고
놓이기를 기다렸겠나이다
14:14 If death takes a man, will he come to life again? All the days of my trouble I would
be waiting, till the time came for me to be free.
14:14 If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time
will I wait, till my change come.
14:15 주께서는 나를 부르셨겠고 나는 대답하였겠나이다 주께서는 주의 손으로
지으신 것을 아껴 보셨겠나이다
14:15 At the sound of your voice I would give an answer, and you would have a desire for
the work of your hands.
14:15 You shall call, and I will answer you: you will have a desire to the
work of yours hands.
14:16 그러하온데 이제 주께서 나의 걸음을 세시오니 나의 죄를 살피지 아니하시나이까
14:16 For now my steps are numbered by you, and my sin is not overlooked.
14:16 For now you number my steps: do you not watch over my sin?
14:17 내 허물을 주머니에 봉하시고 내 죄악을 싸매시나이다
14:17 My wrongdoing is corded up in a bag, and my sin is shut up safe.
14:17 My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and you sew up mine iniquity.
14:18 ○ 무너지는 산은 정녕 흩어지고 바위는 그 자리에서 옮겨가고
14:18 But truly a mountain falling comes to dust, and a rock is moved from its place;
14:18 And surely the mountains falling comes to nothing, and the rock is
removed out of his place.
14:19 물은 돌을 닳게 하고 넘치는 물은 땅의 티끌을 씻어버리나이다 이와 같이
주께서는 사람의 소망을 끊으시나이다
14:19 The stones are crushed small by the force of the waters; the dust of the earth is
washed away by their overflowing: and so you put an end to the hope of man.
14:19 The waters wear the stones: you wash away the things which grow out
of the dust of the earth; and you destroys the hope of man.
14:20 주께서 사람을 영영히 이기셔서 떠나게 하시며 그의 얼굴 빛을 변하게 하시고
쫓아보내시오니
14:20 You overcome him for ever, and he is gone; his face is changed in death, and you
send him away.
14:20 You prevail for ever against him, and he passes: you change his countenance,
and send him away.
14:21 그 아들이 존귀하나 그가 알지 못하며 비천하나 그가 깨닫지 못하나이다
14:21 His sons come to honour, and he has no knowledge of it; they are made low, but he
is not conscious of it.
14:21 His sons come to honour, and he knows it not; and they are brought
low, but he perceives it not of them.
14:22 오직 자기의 살이 아프고 자기의 마음이 슬플 뿐이니이다
14:22 Only his flesh still has pain, and his soul is sad.
14:22 But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall
mourn.
15:1 데만 사람 엘리바스가 대답하여 가로되
15:1 And Eliphaz the Temanite made answer and said,
15:1 Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said,
15:2 지혜로운 자가 어찌 헛된 지식으로 대답하겠느냐 어찌 동풍으로 그 품에
채우겠느냐
15:2 Will a wise man make answer with knowledge of no value, or will he give birth to
the east wind?
15:2 Should a wise man utter vain knowledge, and fill his belly with the
east wind?
15:3 어찌 유조치 아니한 이야기, 무익한 말로 변론하겠느냐
15:3 Will he make arguments with words in which is no profit, and with sayings which
have no value?
15:3 Should he reason with useless talk? or with speeches wherewith he can
do no good?
15:4 참으로 네가 하나님 경외하는 일을 폐하여 하나님 앞에 묵도하기를 그치게
하는구나
15:4 Truly, you make the fear of God without effect, so that the time of quiet worship
before God is made less by your outcry.
15:4 Yea, you cast off fear, and restrain prayer before God.
15:5 네 죄악이 네 입을 가르치나니 네가 간사한 자의 혀를 택하였구나
15:5 For your mouth is guided by your sin, and you have taken the tongue of the false
for yourself.
15:5 For your mouth utters yours iniquity, and you choose the tongue of the
crafty.
15:6 너를 정죄한 것은 내가 아니요 네 입이라 네 입술이 너를 쳐서 증거하느니라
15:6 It is by your mouth, even yours, that you are judged to be in the wrong, and not
by me; and your lips give witness against you.
15:6 Yours own mouth condemns you, and not I: yea, yours own lips testify
against you.
15:7 ○ 네가 제일 처음 난 사람이냐 산들이 있기 전에 네가 출생하였느냐
15:7 Were you the first man to come into the world? or did you come into being before
the hills?
15:7 Are you the first man that was born? or were you made before the hills?
15:8 하나님의 모의를 네가 들었느냐 지혜를 홀로 가졌느냐
15:8 Were you present at the secret meeting of God? and have you taken all wisdom for
yourself?
15:8 Have you heard the secret of God? and do you restrain wisdom to yourself?
15:9 너의 아는 것이 무엇이기로 우리가 알지 못하겠느냐 너의 깨달은 것이 무엇이기로
우리에게는 없겠느냐
15:9 What knowledge have you which we have not? is there anything in your mind which
is not in ours?
15:9 What know you, that we know not? what understand you, which is not in
us?
15:10 우리 중에는 머리가 세기도 하고 연로하기도 하여 네 부친보다 나이 많은
자가 있느니라
15:10 With us are men who are grey-haired and full of years, much older than your father.
15:10 With us are both the grayheaded and very aged men, much elder than
your father.
15:11 하나님의 위로와 네게 온유하게 하시는 말씀을 네가 어찌 작다 하느냐
15:11 Are the comforts of God not enough for you, and the gentle word which was said to
you?
15:11 Are the consolations of God small with you? is there any secret thing
with you?
15:12 어찌하여 네가 마음에 끌리며 네 눈을 번쩍여
15:12 Why is your heart uncontrolled, and why are your eyes lifted up;
15:12 Why does yours heart carry you away? and what do your eyes overlook,
15:13 네 영으로 하나님을 반대하고 네 입으로 말들을 내느냐
15:13 So that you are turning your spirit against God, and letting such words go out of
your mouth?
15:13 That you turn your spirit against God, and let such words go out of
your mouth?
15:14 사람이 무엇이관대 깨끗하겠느냐 여인에게서 난 자가 무엇이관대 의롭겠느냐
15:14 What is man, that he may be clean? and how may the son of woman be upright?
15:14 What is man, that he should be clean? and he which is born of a woman,
that he should be righteous?
15:15 하나님은 그 거룩한 자들을 믿지 아니하시나니 하늘이라도 그의 보시기에 부정하거든
15:15 Truly, he puts no faith in his holy ones, and the heavens are not clean in his eyes;
15:15 Behold, he puts no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean
in his sight.
15:16 하물며 악을 짓기를 물 마심 같이 하는 가증하고 부패한 사람이겠느냐
15:16 How much less one who is disgusting and unclean, a man who takes in evil like water!
15:16 How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinks iniquity like
water?
15:17 ○ 내가 네게 보이리니 나를 들으라 내가 본 것을 설명하리라
15:17 Take note and give ear to my words; and I will say what I have seen:
15:17 I will show you, hear me; and that which I have seen I will declare;
15:18 이는 곧 지혜로운 자들이 그 열조에게서 받아 숨기지 아니하고 전하여 온
것이라
15:18 (The things which wise men have got from their fathers, and have not kept secret
from us;
15:18 Which wise men have told from their fathers, and have not hid it:
15:19 이 땅은 그들에게만 주셨으므로 외인은 그들 중에 왕래하지 못하였었느니라
15:19 For only to them was the land given, and no strange people were among them:)
15:19 Unto whom alone the earth was given, and no stranger passed among them.
15:20 그 말에 이르기를 악인은 그 일평생에 고통을 당하며 강포자의 햇수는 작정되었으므로
15:20 The evil man is in pain all his days, and the number of the years stored up for
the cruel is small.
15:20 The wicked man labors with pain all his days, and the number of years
is hidden to the oppressor.
15:21 그 귀에는 놀라운 소리가 들리고 그 형통할 때에 멸망시키는 자가 그에게 임하리니
15:21 A sound of fear is in his ears; in time of peace destruction will come on him:
15:21 A dreadful sound is in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall
come upon him.
15:22 그가 어두운 데서 나오기를 바라지 못하고 칼날의 기다림이 되느니라
15:22 He has no hope of coming safe out of the dark, and his fate will be the sword;
15:22 He believes not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited
for of the sword.
15:23 그는 유리하며 식물을 구하여 이르기를 어디 있느냐 하며 흑암한 날이 가까운
줄을 스스로 아느니라
15:23 He is wandering about in search of bread, saying, Where is it? and he is certain
that the day of trouble is ready for him:
15:23 He wanders abroad for bread, saying, Where is it? he knows that the
day of darkness is ready at his hand.
15:24 환난과 고통이 그를 두렵게 하며 싸움을 준비한 왕처럼 그를 쳐서 이기리니
15:24 He is greatly in fear of the dark day, trouble and pain overcome him:
15:24 Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against
him, as a king ready to the battle.
15:25 이는 그 손을 들어 하나님을 대적하며 교만하여 전능자를 배반함이니라
15:25 Because his hand is stretched out against God, and his heart is lifted up against
the Ruler of all,
15:25 For he stretches out his hand against God, and strengthens himself
against the Almighty.
15:26 그는 목을 굳게 하고 두터운 방패로 하나님을 치려고 달려가나니
15:26 Running against him like a man of war, covered by his thick breastplate; even like
a king ready for the fight,
15:26 He runs upon him, even on his neck, upon the thick bosses of his bucklers:
15:27 그 얼굴에는 살이 찌고 허리에는 기름이 엉기었고
15:27 Because his face is covered with fat, and his body has become thick;
15:27 Because he covers his face with his fatness, and makes fatness on his
flanks.
15:28 그는 황무한 성읍, 사람이 살지 아니하는 집, 돌 무더기가 될 곳에 거하였음이니라
15:28 And he has made his resting-place in the towns which have been pulled down, in houses
where no man had a right to be, whose fate was to become masses of broken walls.
15:28 And he dwells in desolate cities, and in houses which no man inhabits,
which are ready to become heaps.
15:29 그는 부요하지 못하고 재산이 항상 있지 못하며 그 산업이 땅에서 증식하지
못할 것이며
15:29 He does not get wealth for himself, and is unable to keep what he has got; the heads
of his grain are not bent down to the earth.
15:29 He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither
shall he prolong the perfection thereof upon the earth.
15:30 흑암한 데를 떠나지 못하리니 불꽃이 그 가지를 말릴 것이라 하나님의 입김에
그가 떠나리라
15:30 He does not come out of the dark; his branches are burned by the flame, and the
wind takes away his bud.
15:30 He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches,
and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away.
15:31 그는 스스로 속아 허망한 것을 믿지 말 것은 허망한 것이 그의 보응이 될 것임이라
15:31 Let him not put his hope in what is false, falling into error: for he will get deceit
as his reward.
15:31 Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his
recompence.
15:32 그의 날이 이르기 전에 그 일이 이룰 것인즉 그 가지가 푸르지 못하리니
15:32 His branch is cut off before its time, and his leaf is no longer green.
15:32 It shall be accomplished before his time, and his branch shall not
be green.
15:33 포도 열매가 익기 전에 떨어짐 같고 감람 꽃이 곧 떨어짐 같으리라
15:33 He is like a vine whose grapes do not come to full growth, or an olive-tree dropping
its flowers.
15:33 He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, and shall cast off
his flower as the olive.
15:34 사곡한 무리는 결실이 없고 뇌물을 받는 자의 장막은 불 탈 것이라
15:34 For the band of the evil-doers gives no fruit, and the tents of those who give wrong
decisions for reward are burned with fire.
15:34 For the congregation of hypocrites shall be desolate, and fire shall
consume the tabernacles of bribery.
15:35 그들은 악한 생각을 배고 불의를 낳으며 마음에 궤휼을 예비한다 하였느니라
15:35 Evil has made them with child, and they give birth to trouble; and the fruit of
their body is shame for themselves.
15:35 They conceive mischief, and bring forth vanity, and their belly prepares
deceit.
16:1 욥이 대답하여 가로되
16:1 And Job made answer and said,
16:1 Then Job answered and said,
16:2 이런 말은 내가 많이 들었나니 너희는 다 번뇌케 하는 안위자로구나
16:2 Such things have frequently come to my ears: you are comforters who only give trouble.
16:2 I have heard many such things: miserable comforters are all of you all.
16:3 허망한 말이 어찌 끝이 있으랴 네가 무엇에 격동되어 이같이 대답하는고
16:3 May words which are like the wind be stopped? or what is troubling you to make answer
to them?
16:3 Shall vain words have an end? or what emboldens you that you answer?
16:4 나도 너희처럼 말할 수 있나니 가령 너희 마음이 내 마음 자리에 있다 하자
나도 말을 지어 너희를 치며 너희를 향하여 머리를 흔들 수 있느니라
16:4 It would not be hard for me to say such things if your souls were in my soul's place;
joining words together against you, and shaking my head at you:
16:4 I also could speak as all of you do: if your soul were in my soul's
position, I could heap up words against you, and shake mine head at you.
16:5 그래도 입으로 너희를 강하게 하며 입술의 위로로 너희의 근심을 풀었으리라
16:5 I might give you strength with my mouth, and not keep back the comfort of my lips.
16:5 But I would strengthen you with my mouth, and the moving of my lips
should subside your grief.
16:6 ○ 내가 말하여도 내 근심이 풀리지 아니하나니 잠잠한들 어찌 평안하랴
16:6 If I say what is in my mind, my pain becomes no less: and if I keep quiet, how much
of it goes from me?
16:6 Though I speak, my grief is not subsided: and though I forbear, what
am I eased?
16:7 이제 주께서 나를 곤고케 하시고 나의 무리를 패괴케 하셨나이다
16:7 But now he has overcome me with weariness and fear, and I am in the grip of all
my trouble.
16:7 But now he has made me weary: you have made desolate all my company.
16:8 주께서 나를 시들게 하셨으니 이는 나를 향하여 증거를 삼으심이라 나의
파리한 모양이 일어나서 대면하여 나의 죄를 증거하나이다
16:8 It has come up as a witness against me, and the wasting of my flesh makes answer
to my face.
16:8 And you have filled me with wrinkles, which is a witness against me:
and my leanness rising up in me bears witness to my face.
16:9 그는 진노하사 나를 찢고 군박하시며 나를 향하여 이를 갈고 대적이 되어
뾰족한 눈으로 나를 보시고
16:9 I am broken by his wrath, and his hate has gone after me; he has made his teeth
sharp against me: my haters are looking on me with cruel eyes;
16:9 He tears me in his wrath, who hates me: he gnashes upon me with his
teeth; mine enemy sharpens his eyes upon me.
16:10 무리들은 나를 향하여 입을 벌리며 나를 천대하여 뺨을 치며 함께 모여
나를 대적하는구나
16:10 Their mouths are open wide against me; the blows of his bitter words are falling
on my face; all of them come together in a mass against me.
16:10 They have gaped upon me with their mouth; they have smitten me upon
the cheek reproachfully; they have gathered themselves together against me.
16:11 하나님이 나를 경건치 않은 자에게 붙이시며 악인의 손에 던지셨구나
16:11 God gives me over to the power of sinners, sending me violently into the hands of
evil-doers.
16:11 God has delivered me to the ungodly, and turned me over into the hands
of the wicked.
16:12 내가 평안하더니 그가 나를 꺾으시며 내 목을 잡아던져 나를 부숴뜨리시며
나를 세워 과녁을 삼으시고
16:12 I was in comfort, but I have been broken up by his hands; he has taken me by the
neck, shaking me to bits; he has put me up as a mark for his arrows.
16:12 I was at ease, but he has broken me asunder: he has also taken me by
my neck, and shaken me to pieces, and set me up for his mark.
16:13 그 살로 나를 사방으로 쏘아 인정 없이 내 허리를 뚫고 내 쓸개로 땅에
흘러나오게 하시는구나
16:13 His bowmen come round about me; their arrows go through my body without mercy; my
life is drained out on the earth.
16:13 His archers compass me round about, he cleaves my reins asunder, and
does not spare; he pours out my gall upon the ground.
16:14 그가 나를 꺾고 다시 꺾고 용사 같이 내게 달려드시니
16:14 I am broken with wound after wound; he comes rushing on me like a man of war.
16:14 He breaks me with breach upon breach, he runs upon me like a giant.
16:15 내가 굵은 베를 꿰어매어 내 피부에 덮고 내 뿔을 티끌에 더럽혔구나
16:15 I have made haircloth the clothing of my skin, and my horn is rolled in the dust.
16:15 I have sewed sackcloth upon my skin, and defiled my horn in the dust.
16:16 내 얼굴은 울음으로 붉었고 내 눈꺼풀에는 죽음의 그늘이 있구나
16:16 My face is red with weeping, and my eyes are becoming dark;
16:16 My face is foul with weeping, and on my eyelids is the shadow of death;
16:17 그러나 내 손에는 포학이 없고 나의 기도는 정결하니라
16:17 Though my hands have done no violent acts, and my prayer is clean.
16:17 Not for any injustice in mine hands: also my prayer is pure.
16:18 ○ 땅아 내 피를 가리우지 말라 나의 부르짖음으로 쉴 곳이 없게 되기를
원하노라
16:18 O earth, let not my blood be covered, and let my cry have no resting-place!
16:18 O earth, cover not you my blood, and let my cry have no place.
16:19 지금 나의 증인이 하늘에 계시고 나의 보인이 높은데 계시니라
16:19 Even now my witness is in heaven, and the supporter of my cause is on high.
16:19 Also now, behold, my witness is in heaven, and my record is on high.
16:20 나의 친구는 나를 조롱하나 내 눈은 하나님을 향하여 눈물을 흘리고
16:20 My friends make sport of me; to God my eyes are weeping,
16:20 My friends scorn me: but mine eye pours out tears unto God.
16:21 사람과 하나님 사이에와 인자와 그 이웃 사이에 변백하시기를 원하노니
16:21 So that he may give decision for a man in his cause with God, and between a son
of man and his neighbour.
16:21 O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleads for his
neighbour!
16:22 수년이 지나면 나는 돌아오지 못할 길로 갈 것임이니라
16:22 For in a short time I will take the journey from which I will not come back.
16:22 When a few years are come, then I shall go the way whence I shall not
return.
17:1 나의 기운이 쇠하였으며 나의 날이 다하였고 무덤이 나를 위하여 예비되었구나
17:1 My spirit is broken, my days are ended, the last resting-place is ready for me.
17:1 My breath is corrupt, my days are extinct, the graves are ready for
me.
17:2 나를 조롱하는 자들이 오히려 나와 함께 있으므로 내 눈이 그들의 격동함을
항상 보는구나
17:2 Truly, those who make sport of me are round about me, and my eyes become dark because
of their bitter laughing.
17:2 Are there not mockers with me? and does not mine eye continue in their
provocation?
17:3 ○ 청컨대 보증물을 주시고 친히 나의 보주가 되옵소서 주 외에 나로 더불어
손을 칠 자가 누구리이까
17:3 Be pleased, now, to be responsible for me to yourself; for there is no other who
will put his hand in mine.
17:3 Lay down now, put me in a guarantor with you; who is he that will shake
hands with me?
17:4 주께서 그들의 마음을 가리워 깨닫지 못하게 하셨사오니 그들을 높이지 아니하시리이다
17:4 You have kept their hearts from wisdom: for this cause you will not give them honour.
17:4 For you have hid their heart from understanding: therefore shall you
not exalt them.
17:5 친구를 지적하여 해를 받게 한 자의 자식들은 눈이 멀지니라
17:5 As for him who is false to his friend for a reward, light will be cut off from the
eyes of his children.
17:5 He that speaks flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children
shall fail.
17:6 ○ 하나님이 나로 백성의 이야기거리가 되게 하시니 그들이 내 얼굴에 침을
뱉는구나
17:6 He has made me a word of shame to the peoples; I have become a mark for their sport.
17:6 He has made me also a byword of the people; and in old times I was as
a timbrel.
17:7 내 눈은 근심으로 하여 어두워지고 나의 온 지체는 그림자 같구나
17:7 My eyes have become dark because of my pain, and all my body is wasted to a shade.
17:7 Mine eye also is dim by reason of sorrow, and all my members are as
a shadow.
17:8 정직자는 이를 인하여 놀라고 무죄자는 사곡한 자를 인하여 분을 내나니
17:8 The upright are surprised at this, and he who has done no wrong is troubled because
of the evil-doers.
17:8 Upright men shall be astonished at this, and the innocent shall stir
up himself against the hypocrite.
17:9 그러므로 의인은 그 길을 독실히 행하고 손이 깨끗한 자는 점점 힘을 얻느니라
17:9 Still the upright keeps on his way, and he who has clean hands gets new strength.
17:9 The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that has clean hands
shall be stronger and stronger.
17:10 너희는 다 다시 올지니라 내가 너희 중에서 지혜자를 찾을 수 없느니라
17:10 But come back, now, all of you, come; and I will not see a wise man among you.
17:10 But as for you all, do all of you return, and come now: for I cannot
find one wise man among you.
17:11 나의 날이 지나갔고 내 경영, 내 마음의 사모하는 바가 다 끊어졌구나
17:11 My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the desires of my heart.
17:11 My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of
my heart.
17:12 그들은 밤으로 낮을 삼고 빛이 어두운데 가깝다 하는구나
17:12 They are changing night into day; they say, The light is near the dark.
17:12 They change the night into day: the light is short because of darkness.
17:13 내 소망이 음부로 내 집을 삼음에 있어서 침상을 흑암에 베풀고
17:13 If I am waiting for the underworld as my house, if I have made my bed in the dark;
17:13 If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.
17:14 무덤더러 너는 내 아비라, 구더기더러 너는 내 어미, 내 자매라 할진대
17:14 If I say to the earth, You are my father; and to the worm, My mother and my sister;
17:14 I have said to corruption, You are my father: to the worm, You are
my mother, and my sister.
17:15 나의 소망이 어디 있으며 나의 소망을 누가 보겠느냐
17:15 Where then is my hope? and who will see my desire?
17:15 And where is now my hope? as for my hope, who shall see it?
17:16 흙 속에서 쉴 때에는 소망이 음부 문으로 내려갈 뿐이니라
17:16 Will they go down with me into the underworld? Will we go down together into the
dust?
17:16 They shall go down to the bars of the pit, when our rest together is
in the dust.
18:1 수아 사람 빌닷이 대답하여 가로되
18:1 Then Bildad the Shuhite made answer and said,
18:1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
18:2 너희가 어느 때까지 말을 찾겠느냐 깨달으라 그 후에야 우리가 말하리라
18:2 How long will it be before you have done talking? Get wisdom, and then we will say
what is in our minds.
18:2 How long will it be before all of you make an end of words? mark, and
afterwards we will speak.
18:3 어찌하여 우리를 짐승으로 여기며 부정하게 보느냐
18:3 Why do we seem as beasts in your eyes, and as completely without knowledge?
18:3 Wherefore are we counted as beasts, and reputed vile in your sight?
18:4 너 분하여 스스로 찢는 자야 너를 위하여 땅이 버림을 당하겠느냐 바위가
그 자리에서 옮기겠느냐
18:4 But come back, now, come: you who are wounding yourself in your passion, will the
earth be given up because of you, or a rock be moved out of its place?
18:4 He tears himself in his anger: shall the earth be forsaken for you?
and shall the rock be removed out of his place?
18:5 ○ 악인의 빛은 꺼지고 그 불꽃은 빛나지 않을 것이요
18:5 For the light of the sinner is put out, and the flame of his fire is not shining.
18:5 Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the spark of his
fire shall not shine.
18:6 그 장막 안의 빛은 어두워지고 그 위의 등불은 꺼질 것이요
18:6 The light is dark in his tent, and the light shining over him is put out.
18:6 The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his candle shall be put
out with him.
18:7 그 강한 걸음이 곤하여지고 그 베푼 꾀에 스스로 빠질 것이니
18:7 The steps of his strength become short, and by his design destruction overtakes
him.
18:7 The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall
cast him down.
18:8 이는 그 발이 스스로 그물에 들어가고 얽는 줄을 밟음이며
18:8 His feet take him into the net, and he goes walking into the cords.
18:8 For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he walks upon a snare.
18:9 그 발뒤꿈치는 창애에 치이고 그 몸은 올무에 얽힐 것이며
18:9 His foot is taken in the net; he comes into its grip.
18:9 The animal trap shall take him by the heel, and the robber shall prevail
against him.
18:10 그를 동일 줄이 땅에 숨겼고 그를 빠뜨릴 함정이 길에 베풀렸으며
18:10 The twisted cord is put secretly in the earth to take him, and the cord is placed
in his way.
18:10 The snare is laid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the
way.
18:11 무서운 것이 사방에서 그를 놀래고 그 뒤를 쫓아올 것이며
18:11 He is overcome by fears on every side, they go after him at every step.
18:11 Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall drive him to
his feet.
18:12 그 힘은 기근을 인하여 쇠하고 그 곁에는 재앙이 기다릴 것이며
18:12 His strength is made feeble for need of food, and destruction is waiting for his
falling footstep.
18:12 His strength shall be famished, and destruction shall be ready at his
side.
18:13 그의 백체가 먹히리니 곧 사망의 장자가 그 지체를 먹을 것이며
18:13 His skin is wasted by disease, and his body is food for the worst of diseases.
18:13 It shall devour the strength of his skin: even the firstborn of death
shall devour his strength.
18:14 그가 그 의뢰하던 장막에서 뽑혀서 무서움의 왕에게로 잡혀가고
18:14 He is pulled out of his tent where he was safe, and he is taken away to the king
of fears.
18:14 His confidence shall be rooted out of his tabernacle, and it shall
bring him to the king of terrors.
18:15 그에게 속하지 않은 자가 그 장막에 거하리니 유황이 그 처소에 뿌려질
것이며
18:15 In his tent will be seen that which is not his, burning stone is dropped on his
house.
18:15 It shall dwell in his tabernacle, because it is none of his: brimstone
shall be scattered upon his habitation.
18:16 아래서는 그 뿌리가 마르고 위에서는 그 가지가 찍힐 것이며
18:16 Under the earth his roots are dry, and over it his branch is cut off.
18:16 His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be
cut off.
18:17 그의 기념이 땅에서 없어지고 그의 이름이 거리에서 전함이 없을 것이며
18:17 His memory is gone from the earth, and in the open country there is no knowledge
of his name.
18:17 His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name
in the street.
18:18 그는 광명 중에서 흑암으로 몰려 들어가며 세상에서 쫓겨날 것이며
18:18 He is sent away from the light into the dark; he is forced out of the world.
18:18 He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the
world.
18:19 그는 그 백성 가운데서 아들도 없고 손자도 없을 것이며 그의 거하던 곳에는
한 사람도 남은 자가 없을 것이라
18:19 He has no offspring or family among his people, and in his living-place there is
no one of his name.
18:19 He shall neither have son nor nephew among his people, nor any remaining
in his dwellings.
18:20 그의 날을 인하여 뒤에 오는 자가 앞선 자의 두려워하던 것 같이 놀라리라
18:20 At his fate those of the west are shocked, and those of the east are overcome with
fear.
18:20 They that come after him shall be astonished at his day, as they that
went before were affrighted.
18:21 불의한 자의 집이 이러하고 하나님을 알지 못하는 자의 처소도 그러하니라
18:21 Truly, these are the houses of the sinner, and this is the place of him who has
no knowledge of God.
18:21 Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place
of him that knows not God.
19:1 욥이 대답하여 가로되
19:1 And Job made answer and said,
19:1 Then Job answered and said,
19:2 너희가 내 마음을 번뇌케 하며 말로 꺾기를 어느 때까지 하겠느냐
19:2 How long will you make my life bitter, crushing me with words?
19:2 How long will all of you vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?
19:3 너희가 열 번이나 나를 꾸짖고 나를 학대하고도 부끄러워 아니하는구나
19:3 Ten times now you have made sport of me; it gives you no sense of shame to do me
wrong.
19:3 These ten times have all of you reproached me: all of you are not ashamed
that all of you make yourselves strange to me.
19:4 내가 과연 허물이 있었다 할지라도 그 허물이 내게만 있는 것이니
19:4 And, truly, if I have been in error, the effect of my error is only on myself.
19:4 And be it indeed that I have erred, mine error remains with myself.
19:5 너희가 참으로 나를 향하여 자긍하며 내게 수치될 행위가 있다고 증명하려면
하려니와
19:5 If you make yourselves great against me, using my punishment as an argument against
me,
19:5 If indeed all of you will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against
me my reproach:
19:6 하나님이 나를 굴하게 하시고 자기 그물로 나를 에워싸신 줄은 알아야 할지니라
19:6 Be certain that it is God who has done me wrong, and has taken me in his net.
19:6 Know now that God has overthrown me, and has compassed me with his net.
19:7 ○ 내가 포학을 당한다고 부르짖으나 응답이 없고 간구할지라도 신원함이
없구나
19:7 Truly, I make an outcry against the violent man, but there is no answer: I give
a cry for help, but no one takes up my cause.
19:7 Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there
is no judgment.
19:8 그가 내 길을 막아 지나지 못하게 하시고 내 첩경에 흑암을 두셨으며
19:8 My way is walled up by him so that I may not go by: he has made my roads dark.
19:8 He has fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he has set darkness
in my paths.
19:9 나의 영광을 벗기시며 나의 면류관을 머리에서 취하시고
19:9 He has put off my glory from me, and taken the crown from my head.
19:9 He has stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.
19:10 사면으로 나를 헐으시니 나는 죽었구나 내 소망을 나무 뽑듯 뽑으시고
19:10 I am broken down by him on every side, and I am gone; my hope is uprooted like a
tree.
19:10 He has destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope has
he removed like a tree.
19:11 나를 향하여 진노하시고 원수 같이 보시는구나
19:11 His wrath is burning against me, and I am to him as one of his haters.
19:11 He has also kindled his wrath against me, and he counts me unto him
as one of his enemies.
19:12 그 군대가 일제히 나아와서 길을 수축하고 나를 치며 내 장막을 둘러 진
쳤구나
19:12 His armies come on together, they make their road high against me, and put up their
tents round mine.
19:12 His troops come together, and raise up their way against me, and camp
round about my tabernacle.
19:13 ○ 나의 형제들로 나를 멀리 떠나게 하시니 나를 아는 모든 사람이 내게
외인이 되었구나
19:13 He has taken my brothers far away from me; they have seen my fate and have become
strange to me.
19:13 He has put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are verily
cut off from me.
19:14 내 친척은 나를 버리며 가까운 친구는 나를 잊었구나
19:14 My relations and my near friends have given me up, and those living in my house
have put me out of their minds.
19:14 My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.
19:15 내 집에 우거한 자와 내 계집종들은 나를 외인으로 여기니 내가 그들 앞에서
타국 사람이 되었구나
19:15 I am strange to my women-servants, and seem to them as one from another country.
19:15 They that dwell in mine house, and my maids, count me for a stranger:
I am an foreigner in their sight.
19:16 내가 내 종을 불러도 대답지 아니하니 내 입으로 그에게 청하여야 하겠구나
19:16 At my cry my servant gives me no answer, and I have to make a prayer to him.
19:16 I called my servant, and he gave me no answer; I implored him with
my mouth.
19:17 내 숨을 내 아내가 싫어하며 내 동포들도 혐의하는구나
19:17 My breath is strange to my wife, and I am disgusting to the offspring of my mother's
body.
19:17 My breath is strange to my wife, though I implored for the children's
sake of mine own body.
19:18 어린 아이들이라도 나를 업신여기고 내가 일어나면 나를 조롱하는구나
19:18 Even young children have no respect for me; when I get up their backs are turned
on me.
19:18 Yea, young children despised me; I arose, and they spoke against me.
19:19 나의 가까운 친구들이 나를 미워하며 나의 사랑하는 사람들이 돌이켜 나의
대적이 되었구나
19:19 All the men of my circle keep away from me; and those dear to me are turned against
me.
19:19 All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned
against me.
19:20 내 피부와 살이 뼈에 붙었고 남은 것은 겨우 잇꺼풀 뿐이로구나
19:20 My bones are joined to my skin, and I have got away with my flesh in my teeth.
19:20 My bone cleaves to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the
skin of my teeth.
19:21 나의 친구야 너희는 나를 불쌍히 여기라 나를 불쌍히 여기라 하나님의 손이
나를 치셨구나
19:21 Have pity on me, have pity on me, O my friends! for the hand of God is on me.
19:21 Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O all of you my friends; for
the hand of God has touched me.
19:22 너희가 어찌하여 하나님처럼 나를 핍박하느냐 내 살을 먹고도 부족하냐
19:22 Why are you cruel to me, like God, for ever saying evil against me?
19:22 Why do all of you persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my
flesh?
19:23 ○ 나의 말이 곧 기록되었으면, 책에 씌어졌으면,
19:23 If only my words might be recorded! if they might be put in writing in a book!
19:23 Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!
19:24 철필과 연으로 영영히 돌에 새겨졌으면 좋겠노라
19:24 And with an iron pen and lead be cut into the rock for ever!
19:24 That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!
19:25 내가 알기에는 나의 구속자가 살아 계시니 후일에 그가 땅 위에 서실 것이라
19:25 But I am certain that he who will take up my cause is living, and that in time to
come he will take his place on the dust;
19:25 For I know that my redeemer lives, and that he shall stand at the latter
day upon the earth:
19:26 나의 이 가죽, 이것이 썩은 후에 내가 육체 밖에서 하나님을 보리라
19:26 And ... without my flesh I will see God;
19:26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall
I see God:
19:27 내가 친히 그를 보리니 내 눈으로 그를 보기를 외인처럼 하지 않을 것이라
내 마음이 초급하구나
19:27 Whom I will see on my side, and not as one strange to me. My heart is broken with
desire.
19:27 Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another;
though my reins be consumed within me.
19:28 너희가 만일 이르기를 우리가 그를 어떻게 칠꼬 하며 또 이르기를 일의
뿌리가 그에게 있다 할진대
19:28 If you say, How cruel we will be to him! because the root of sin is clearly in him:
19:28 But all of you should say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of
the matter is found in me?
19:29 너희는 칼을 두려워할지니라 분노는 칼의 형벌을 부르나니 너희가 심판이
있는 줄을 알게 되리라
19:29 Be in fear of the sword, for the sword is the punishment for such things, so that
you may be certain that there is a judge.
19:29 Be all of you afraid of the sword: for wrath brings the punishments
of the sword, that all of you may know there is a judgment.
20:1 나아마 사람 소발이 대답하여 가로되
20:1 Then Zophar the Naamathite made answer and said,
20:1 Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
20:2 그러므로 내 생각이 내게 대답하나니 이는 내 중심이 초급함이니라
20:2 For this cause my thoughts are troubling me and driving me on.
20:2 Therefore do my thoughts cause me to answer, and for this I make haste.
20:3 내가 나를 부끄럽게 하는 책망을 들었으므로 나의 슬기로운 마음이 내게
대답하는구나
20:3 I have to give ear to arguments which put me to shame, and your answers to me are
wind without wisdom.
20:3 I have heard the check of my reproach, and the spirit of my understanding
causes me to answer.
20:4 네가 알지 못하느냐 예로부터 사람이 이 세상에 있어 옴으로
20:4 Have you knowledge of this from early times, when man was placed on the earth,
20:4 Know you not this of old, since man was placed upon earth,
20:5 악인의 이기는 자랑도 잠시요 사곡한 자의 즐거움도 잠간이니라
20:5 That the pride of the sinner is short, and the joy of the evil-doer but for a minute?
20:5 That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite
but for a moment?
20:6 그 높기가 하늘에 닿고 그 머리가 구름에 미칠지라도
20:6 Though he is lifted up to the heavens, and his head goes up to the clouds;
20:6 Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto
the clouds;
20:7 자기의 똥처럼 영원히 망할 것이라 그를 본 자가 이르기를 그가 어디 있느냐
하리라
20:7 Like the waste from his body he comes to an end for ever: those who have seen him
say, Where is he?
20:7 Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen
him shall say, Where is he?
20:8 그는 꿈 같이 지나가니 다시 찾을 수 없을 것이요 밤에 보이던 환상처럼
쫓겨가리니
20:8 He is gone like a dream, and is not seen again; he goes in flight like a vision
of the night.
20:8 He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall
be chased away as a vision of the night.
20:9 그를 본 눈이 다시 그를 보지 못할 것이요 그의 처소도 다시 그를 보지 못할
것이며
20:9 The eye which saw him sees him no longer; and his place has no more knowledge of
him.
20:9 The eye also which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall his
place any more behold him.
20:10 그의 자녀들이 가난한 자에게 은혜를 구하겠고 그도 얻은 재물을 자기 손으로
도로 줄 것이며
20:10 His children are hoping that the poor will be kind to them, and his hands give back
his wealth.
20:10 His children shall seek to please the poor, and his hands shall restore
their goods.
20:11 그 기골이 청년 같이 강장하나 그 기세가 그와 함께 흙에 누우리라
20:11 His bones are full of young strength, but it will go down with him into the dust.
20:11 His bones are full of the sin of his youth, which shall lie down with
him in the dust.
20:12 ○ 그는 비록 악을 달게 여겨 혀 밑에 감추며
20:12 Though evil-doing is sweet in his mouth, and he keeps it secretly under his tongue;
20:12 Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his
tongue;
20:13 아껴서 버리지 아니하고 입에 물고 있을지라도
20:13 Though he takes care of it, and does not let it go, but keeps it still in his mouth;
20:13 Though he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still within his
mouth:
20:14 그 식물이 창자 속에서 변하며 뱃속에서 독사의 쓸개가 되느니라
20:14 His food becomes bitter in his stomach; the poison of snakes is inside him.
20:14 Yet his food in his bowels is turned, it is the gall of asps within
him.
20:15 그가 재물을 삼켰을지라도 다시 토할 것은 하나님이 그 배에서 도로 나오게
하심이니
20:15 He takes down wealth as food, and sends it up again; it is forced out of his stomach
by God.
20:15 He has swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God
shall cast them out of his belly.
20:16 그가 독사의 독을 빨며 뱀의 혀에 죽을 것이라
20:16 He takes the poison of snakes into his mouth, the tongue of the snake is the cause
of his death.
20:16 He shall suck the poison of asps: the viper's tongue shall slay him.
20:17 그는 강 곧 꿀과 엉긴 젖이 흐르는 강을 보지 못할 것이요
20:17 Let him not see the rivers of oil, the streams of honey and milk.
20:17 He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter.
20:18 수고하여 얻은 것을 도로 주고 삼키지 못할 것이며 매매하여 얻은 재물로
즐거워하지 못하리니
20:18 He is forced to give back the fruit of his work, and may not take it for food; he
has no joy in the profit of his trading.
20:18 That which he laboured for shall he restore, and shall not swallow
it down: according to his substance shall the restitution be, and he shall not
rejoice therein.
20:19 이는 그가 가난한 자를 학대하고 버림이요 자기가 세우지 않은 집을 빼앗음이니라
20:19 Because he has been cruel to the poor, turning away from them in their trouble;
because he has taken a house by force which he did not put up;
20:19 Because he has oppressed and has forsaken the poor; because he has
violently taken away an house which he built not;
20:20 ○ 그는 마음에 족한 줄을 알지 못하니 그 기뻐하는 것을 하나도 보존치
못하겠고
20:20 There is no peace for him in his wealth, and no salvation for him in those things
in which he took delight.
20:20 Surely he shall not feel quietness in his belly, he shall not save
of that which he desired.
20:21 남긴 것이 없이 몰수히 먹으니 그런즉 그 형통함이 오래지 못할 것이라
20:21 He had never enough for his desire; for this cause his well-being will quickly come
to an end.
20:21 There shall none of his food be left; therefore shall no man look for
his goods.
20:22 풍족할 때에도 곤액이 이르리니 모든 고통하는 자의 손이 그에게 닿으리라
20:22 Even when his wealth is great, he is full of care, for the hand of everyone who
is in trouble is turned against him.
20:22 In the fullness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: every hand
of the wicked shall come upon him.
20:23 그가 배를 불리려 할 때에 하나님이 맹렬한 진노를 내리시리니 밥 먹을
때에 그의 위에 비 같이 쏟으시리라
20:23 God gives him his desire, and sends the heat of his wrath on him, making it come
down on him like rain.
20:23 When he is about to fill his belly, God shall cast the fury of his
wrath upon him, and shall rain it upon him while he is eating.
20:24 그가 철 병기를 피할 때에는 놋활이 쏘아 꿸 것이요
20:24 He may go in flight from the iron spear, but the arrow from the bow of brass will
go through him;
20:24 He shall flee from the iron weapon, and the bow of steel shall strike
him through.
20:25 몸에서 그 살을 빼어 낸즉 번쩍번쩍하는 촉이 그 쓸개에서 나오고 큰 두려움이
그에게 임하느니라
20:25 He is pulling it out, and it comes out of his back; and its shining point comes
out of his side; he is overcome by fears.
20:25 It is drawn, and comes out of the body; yea, the glittering sword comes
out of his gall: terrors are upon him.
20:26 모든 캄캄한 것이 그의 보물을 위하여 쌓이고 사람이 피우지 않은 불이
그를 멸하며 그 장막에 남은 것을 사르리라
20:26 All his wealth is stored up for the dark: a fire not made by man sends destruction
on him, and on everything in his tent.
20:26 All darkness shall be hid in his secret places: a fire not blown shall
consume him; it shall go ill with him that is left in his tabernacle.
20:27 하늘이 그의 죄악을 드러낼 것이요 땅이 일어나 그를 칠 것인즉
20:27 The heavens make clear his sin, and the earth gives witness against him.
20:27 The heaven shall reveal his iniquity; and the earth shall rise up against
him.
20:28 그 가산이 패하여 하나님의 진노하시는 날에 흘러가리니
20:28 The produce of his house is taken away into another country, like things given into
the hands of others in the day of wrath.
20:28 The increase of his house shall depart, and his goods shall flow away
in the day of his wrath.
20:29 이는 악인이 하나님께 받을 분깃이요 하나님이 그에게 정하신 산업이니라
20:29 This is the reward of the evil man, and the heritage given to him by God.
20:29 This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed
unto him by God.
