1:1 ÀÌ´Â ¸ð¼¼°¡ ¿ä´Ü ÀúÆí ½£ ¸ÂÀºÆíÀÇ ¾Æ¶ó¹Ù ±¤¾ß °ð ¹Ù¶õ°ú µµº§°ú ¶ó¹Ý°ú Çϼ¼·Ô°ú µð»çÇÕ »çÀÌ¿¡¼­ À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¹«¸®¿¡°Ô ¼±Æ÷ÇÑ ¸»¾¸À̴϶ó
1:1 These are the words which Moses said to all Israel on the far side of Jordan, in the waste land in the Arabah opposite Suph, between Paran on the one side, and Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Dizahab on the other.
1:1 These be the words which Moses spoke unto all Israel on this side Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain opposite to the Red sea, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.

1:2 It is eleven days' journey from Horeb by the way of Mount Seir to Kadesh-barnea.

1:3 Now in the fortieth year, on the first day of the eleventh month, Moses gave to the children of Israel all the orders which the Lord had given him for them;
1:3 And it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spoke unto the children of Israel, according unto all that the LORD had given him in commandment unto them;

1:4 After he had overcome Sihon, king of the Amorites, ruling in Heshbon, and Og, king of Bashan, ruling in Ashtaroth, at Edrei:
1:4 After he had slain Sihon the king of the Amorites, which dwelt in Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, which dwelt at Astaroth in Edrei:

1:5 ¸ð¼¼°¡ ¿ä´Ü ÀúÆí ¸ð¾Ð ¶¥¿¡¼­ ÀÌ À²¹ý ¼³¸íÇϱ⸦ ½ÃÀÛÇÏ¿´´õ¶ó ÀÏ·¶À¸µÇ
1:5 On the far side of Jordan in the land of Moab, Moses gave the people this law, saying,
1:5 On this side Jordan, in the land of Moab, began Moses to declare this law, saying,

1:6 The Lord our God said to us in Horeb, You have been long enough in this mountain:
1:6 The LORD our God spoke unto us in Horeb, saying, All of you have dwelt long enough in this mount:

1:7 Make a move now, and go on your way into the hill-country of the Amorites and the places near it, in the Arabah and the hill-country and in the lowlands and in the South and by the seaside, all the land of the Canaanites, and Lebanon, as far as the great river, the river Euphrates.
1:7 Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates.

1:8 See, all the land is before you: go in and take for yourselves the land which the Lord gave by an oath to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and to their seed after them.
1:8 Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD swore unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them.

1:9 ¡Û ±×¶§¿¡ ³»°¡ ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô ¸»ÇÏ¿© À̸£±â¸¦ ³ª´Â Ȧ·Î ³ÊÈñ ÁüÀ» Áú ¼ö ¾øµµ´Ù
1:9 At that time I said to you, I am not able to undertake the care of you by myself;
1:9 And I spoke unto you at that time, saying, I am not able to bear you myself alone:

1:10 ³ÊÈñ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ³ÊÈñ¸¦ ¹ø¼ºÄÉ ÇϼÌÀ¸¹Ç·Î ³ÊÈñ°¡ ¿À´Ã³¯ ÇÏ´ÃÀÇ º° °°ÀÌ ¸¹°Å´Ï¿Í
1:10 The Lord your God has given you increase, and now you are like the stars of heaven in number.
1:10 The LORD your God has multiplied you, and, behold, all of you are this day as the stars of heaven for multitude.

1:11 ³ÊÈñ ¿­Á¶ÀÇ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ³ÊÈñ¸¦ ÇöÀ纸´Ù õ ¹è³ª ¸¹°Ô ÇÏ½Ã¸ç ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô Çã¶ôÇϽŠ°Í°ú °°ÀÌ ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô º¹ Áֽñ⸦ ¿øÇϳë¶ó
1:11 May the Lord, the God of your fathers, make you a thousand times greater in number than you are, and give you his blessing as he has said!
1:11 (The LORD God of your fathers make you a thousand times so many more as all of you are, and bless you, as he has promised you!)

1:12 How is it possible for me by myself to be responsible for you, and undertake the weight of all your troubles and your arguments?
1:12 How can I myself alone bear your cumbrance, and your burden, and your strife?

1:13 Take for yourselves men who are wise, far-seeing, and respected among you, from your tribes, and I will make them rulers over you.
1:13 Take you wise men, and understanding, and known among your tribes, and I will make them rulers over you.

1:14 ³ÊÈñ°¡ ´ë´äÇÏ¿© À̸£±â¸¦ ´ç½ÅÀÇ ¸»¾¸´ë·Î ÇÏ´Â °ÍÀÌ ÁÁ´Ù Çϱ⿡
1:14 And you made answer and said to me, It is good for us to do as you say.
1:14 And all of you answered me, and said, The thing which you have spoken is good for us to do.

1:15 ³»°¡ ³ÊÈñ ÁöÆÄÀÇ µÎ·ÉÀ¸·Î ÁöÇý°¡ ÀÖ´Â À¯¸íÇÑ ÀÚ¸¦ ÃëÇÏ¿© ³ÊÈñÀÇ ¾î¸¥À» »ïµÇ °ð °¢ ÁöÆĸ¦ µû¶ó õºÎÀå°ú ¹éºÎÀå°ú ¿À½ÊºÎÀå°ú ½ÊºÎÀå°ú ÆÐÀåÀ» »ï°í
1:15 So I took the heads of your tribes, wise men and respected, and made them rulers over you, captains of thousands and captains of hundreds and captains of fifties and captains of tens, and overseers of your tribes.
1:15 So I took the chief of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and captains over fifties, and captains over tens, and officers among your tribes.

1:16 ³»°¡ ±×¶§¿¡ ³ÊÈñ ÀçÆÇÀåµé¿¡°Ô ¸íÇÏ¿© À̸£±â¸¦ ³ÊÈñ°¡ ³ÊÈñ ÇüÁ¦ Áß¿¡ ¼Û»ç¸¦ µéÀ» ¶§¿¡ ¾ç¹æ°£¿¡ °øÁ¤È÷ ÆÇ°áÇÒ °ÍÀÌ¸ç ±×µé ÁßÀÇ Å¸±¹Àο¡°Ôµµ ±×¸®ÇÒ °ÍÀ̶ó
1:16 And at that time I gave orders to your judges, saying, Let all questions between your brothers come before you for hearing, and give decisions uprightly between a man and his brother or one from another nation who is with him.
1:16 And I charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously between every man and his brother, and the stranger that is with him.

1:17 ÀçÆÇÀº Çϳª´Ô²² ¼ÓÇÑ °ÍÀÎÁï ³ÊÈñ´Â ÀçÆÇ¿¡ ¿Ü¸ð¸¦ º¸Áö ¸»°í ±ÍõÀ» ÀϹÝÀ¸·Î µè°í »ç¶÷ÀÇ ³¸À» µÎ·Á¿ö ¸» °ÍÀÌ¸ç ½º½º·Î °á´ÜÇϱ⠾î·Á¿î ÀÏÀÌ°Åµç ³»°Ô·Î µ¹¸®¶ó ³»°¡ µéÀ¸¸®¶ó ÇÏ¿´°í
1:17 In judging, do not let a man's position have any weight with you; give hearing equally to small and great; have no fear of any man, for it is God who is judge: and any cause in which you are not able to give a decision, you are to put before me and I will give it a hearing.
1:17 All of you shall not respect persons in judgment; but all of you shall hear the small as well as the great; all of you shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God's: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it.

1:18 ³»°¡ ³ÊÈñÀÇ ÇàÇÒ ¸ðµç ÀÏÀ» ±×¶§¿¡ ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô ´Ù ¸íÇÏ¿´´À´Ï¶ó
1:18 And at that time I gave you all the orders which you were to do.
1:18 And I commanded you at that time all the things which all of you should do.

1:19 ¡Û ¿ì¸® Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô ¸íÇϽŠ´ë·Î ¿ì¸®°¡ È£·¾ »ê¿¡¼­ ¹ßÇàÇÏ¿© ³ÊÈñÀÇ º» ¹Ù Å©°í µÎ·Á¿î ±¤¾ß¸¦ Áö³ª ¾Æ¸ð¸® Á·¼Ó »êÁö ±æ·Î °¡µ¥½º ¹Ù³×¾Æ¿¡ À̸¥ ¶§¿¡
1:19 Then we went on from Horeb, through all that great and cruel waste which you saw, on our way to the hill-country of the Amorites, as the Lord gave us orders; and we came to Kadesh-barnea.
1:19 And when we departed from Horeb, we went through all that great and terrible wilderness, which all of you saw by the way of the mountain of the Amorites, as the LORD our God commanded us; and we came to Kadeshbarnea.

1:20 ³»°¡ ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô À̸£±â¸¦ ¿ì¸® Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô ÁֽŠ¾Æ¸ð¸® Á·¼ÓÀÇ »êÁö¿¡ ³ÊÈñ°¡ À̸£·¶³ª´Ï
1:20 And I said to you, You have come to the hill-country of the Amorites, which the Lord our God is giving us.
1:20 And I said unto you, All of you are come unto the mountain of the Amorites, which the LORD our God does give unto us.

1:21 ³ÊÈñ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ÀÌ ¶¥À» ³ÊÈñ ¾Õ¿¡ µÎ¼ÌÀºÁï ³ÊÈñ ¿­Á¶ÀÇ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô À̸£½Å ´ë·Î ¿Ã¶ó°¡¼­ ¾òÀ¸¶ó µÎ·Á¿ö ¸»¶ó ÁÖÀúÇÏÁö ¸»¶ó ÇÑÁï
1:21 See now, the Lord your God has put the land into your hands: go up and take it, as the Lord, the God of your fathers, has said to you; have no fear and do not be troubled.
1:21 Behold, the LORD your God has set the land before you: go up and possess it, as the LORD God of your fathers has said unto you; fear not, neither be discouraged.

1:22 ³ÊÈñ°¡ ´Ù ³» ¾ÕÀ¸·Î ³ª¾Æ¿Í ¸»Çϱ⸦ ¿ì¸®°¡ »ç¶÷À» ¿ì¸® ¾Õ¼­ º¸³»¾î ¿ì¸®¸¦ À§ÇÏ¿© ±× ¶¥À» Á¤Å½ÇÏ°í ¾î´À ±æ·Î ¿Ã¶ó°¡¾ß ÇÒ °Í°ú ¾î´À ¼ºÀ¾À¸·Î µé¾î°¡¾ß ÇÒ °ÍÀ» ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô ȸº¸ÄÉ ÇÏÀÚ Çϱ⿡
1:22 And you came near to me, every one of you, and said, Let us send men before us to go through the land with care and give us an account of the way we are to go and the towns to which we will come.
1:22 And all of you came near unto me every one of you, and said, We will send men before us, and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what way we must go up, and into what cities we shall come.

1:23 ³»°¡ ±× ¸»À» ¼±È÷ ¿©°Ü ³ÊÈñ Áß¿¡¼­ ¸Å ÁöÆÄ¿¡ ÇÑ »ç¶÷¾¿ ¿­ µÑÀ» ÅÃÇϸÅ
1:23 And what you said seemed good to me, and I took twelve men from among you, one from every tribe;
1:23 And the saying pleased me well: and I took twelve men of you, one of a tribe:

1:24 ±×µéÀÌ ¾ÕÀ¸·Î °¡¼­ »êÁö¿¡ ¿Ã¶ó ¿¡½º°ñ °ñÂ¥±â¿¡ À̸£·¯ ±× °÷À» Á¤Å½ÇÏ°í
1:24 And they went up into the hill-country and came to the valley of Eshcol, and saw what was there.
1:24 And they turned and went up into the mountain, and came unto the valley of Eshcol, and searched it out.

1:25 ±× ¶¥ÀÇ °ú½ÇÀ» ¼Õ¿¡ °¡Áö°í ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô·Î µ¹¾Æ¿Í¼­ ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô ȸº¸ÇÏ¿© À̸£µÇ ¿ì¸®ÀÇ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô Áֽô ¶¥ÀÌ ÁÁ´õ¶ó ÇÏ¿´´À´Ï¶ó
1:25 And taking in their hands some of the fruit of the land, they came down again to us, and gave us their account, saying, It is a good land which the Lord our God is giving us.
1:25 And they took of the fruit of the land in their hands, and brought it down unto us, and brought us word again, and said, It is a good land which the LORD our God does give us.

1:26 ±×·¯³ª ³ÊÈñ°¡ ¿Ã¶ó°¡±â¸¦ Áñ°Ü ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ°í ³ÊÈñ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸íÀ» °Å¿ªÇÏ¿©
1:26 But going against the order of the Lord your God, you would not go up:
1:26 Notwithstanding all of you would not go up, but rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God:

1:27 À帷 Áß¿¡¼­ ¿ø¸ÁÇÏ¿© À̸£±â¸¦ ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ¿ì¸®¸¦ ¹Ì¿öÇϽô °í·Î ¾Æ¸ð¸® Á·¼ÓÀÇ ¼Õ¿¡ ºÙ¿© ¸êÇϽ÷Á°í ¿ì¸®¸¦ ¾Ö±Á ¶¥¿¡¼­ ÀεµÇÏ¿© ³»¼Ìµµ´Ù
1:27 And you made an angry outcry in your tents, and said, In his hate for us the Lord has taken us out of the land of Egypt, to give us up into the hands of the Amorites for our destruction.
1:27 And all of you murmured in your tents, and said, Because the LORD hated us, he has brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.

1:28 ¿ì¸®°¡ ¾îµð·Î °¥²¿ ¿ì¸®ÀÇ ÇüÁ¦µéÀÌ ¿ì¸®·Î ³«½ÉÄÉ ÇÏ¿© ¸»Çϱ⸦ ±× ¹é¼ºÀº ¿ì¸®º¸´Ù Àå´ëÇÏ¸ç ±× ¼ºÀ¾Àº Å©°í ¼º°ûÀº Çϴÿ¡ ´ê¾ÒÀ¸¸ç ¿ì¸®°¡ ¶Ç °Å±â¼­ ¾Æ³« ÀÚ¼ÕÀ» º¸¾Ò³ë¶ó Çϴµµ´Ù Çϱâ·Î
1:28 Where are we going up? Our brothers have made our hearts feeble with fear by saying, The people are greater and taller than we are, and the towns are great and walled up to heaven; and more than this, we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.
1:28 Where shall we go up? our brethren have discouraged our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and walled up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakims there.

1:29 ³»°¡ ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô ¸»Çϱ⸦ ±×µéÀ» ¹«¼­¿ö ¸»¶ó µÎ·Á¿öÇÏÁö ¸»¶ó
1:29 Then I said to you, Have no fear of them.
1:29 Then I said unto you, Dread not, neither be afraid of them.

1:30 ³ÊÈñ ¾Õ¼­ ÇàÇϽô ³ÊÈñ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ¾Ö±Á¿¡¼­ ³ÊÈñ¸¦ À§ÇÏ¿© ³ÊÈñ ¸ñÀü¿¡¼­ ¸ðµç ÀÏÀ» ÇàÇϽŠ°Í °°ÀÌ ÀÌÁ¦µµ ³ÊÈñ¸¦ À§ÇÏ¿© ½Î¿ì½Ç °ÍÀ̸ç
1:30 The Lord your God who goes before you will be fighting for you, and will do such wonders as he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;
1:30 The LORD your God which goes before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;

1:31 ±¤¾ß¿¡¼­µµ ³ÊÈñ°¡ ´çÇÏ¿´°Å´Ï¿Í »ç¶÷ÀÌ Àڱ⠾ƵéÀ» ¾ÈÀ½ °°ÀÌ ³ÊÈñ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ³ÊÈñÀÇ Çà·Î Áß¿¡ ³ÊÈñ¸¦ ¾ÈÀ¸»ç ÀÌ°÷±îÁö À̸£°Ô Çϼ̴À´Ï¶ó Çϳª
1:31 And in the waste land, where you have seen how the Lord was supporting you, as a man does his son, in all your journeying till you came to this place.
1:31 And in the wilderness, where you have seen how that the LORD your God bare you, as a man does bear his son, in all the way that all of you went, until all of you came into this place.

1:32 ÀÌ ÀÏ¿¡ ³ÊÈñ°¡ ³ÊÈñ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í¸¦ ¹ÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ¿´µµ´Ù
1:32 But for all this, you had no faith in the Lord your God,
1:32 Yet in this thing all of you did not believe the LORD your God,

1:33 ±×´Â ³ÊÈñ ¾Õ¼­ ÇàÇϽøç À帷 Ä¥ °÷À» ãÀ¸½Ã°í ¹ã¿¡´Â ºÒ·Î, ³·¿¡´Â ±¸¸§À¸·Î ³ÊÈñÀÇ ÇàÇÒ ±æÀ» Áö½ÃÇϽŠÀڴ϶ó
1:33 Who goes before you on your way, looking for a place where you may put up your tents, in fire by night, lighting up the way you are to go, and in a cloud by day.
1:33 Who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to show you by what way all of you should go, and in a cloud by day.

1:34 ¡Û ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ³ÊÈñÀÇ ¸»¼Ò¸®¸¦ µéÀ¸½Ã°í ³ëÇÏ»ç ¸Í¼¼ÇÏ¿© °¡¶ó»ç´ë
1:34 And the Lord, hearing your words, was angry, and said with an oath,
1:34 And the LORD heard the voice of your words, and was angry, and swore, saying,

1:35 ÀÌ ¾ÇÇÑ ¼¼´ë »ç¶÷µé Áß¿¡´Â ³»°¡ ±×µéÀÇ ¿­Á¶¿¡°Ô ÁÖ±â·Î ¸Í¼¼ÇÑ ÁÁÀº ¶¥À» º¼ ÀÚ°¡ Çϳªµµ ¾øÀ¸¸®¶ó
1:35 Truly, not one of this evil generation will see that good land which I said I would give to your fathers,
1:35 Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I swore to give unto your fathers.

1:39 And your little ones, who, you said, would come into strange hands, your children, who now have no knowledge of good or evil, they will go into that land, and to them I will give it and it will be theirs.
1:39 Moreover your little ones, which all of you said should be a prey, and your children, which in that day had no knowledge between good and evil, they shall go in thither, and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess it.

1:41 Then you said to me, We have done evil against the Lord, we will go up to the attack, as the Lord our God has given us orders. And arming yourselves every one, you made ready to go up without care into the hill-country.
1:41 Then all of you answered and said unto me, We have sinned against the LORD, we will go up and fight, according to all that the LORD our God commanded us. And when all of you had girded on every man his weapons of war, all of you were ready to go up into the hill.

1:42 And the LORD said unto me, Say unto them. Go not up, neither fight; for I am not among you; lest all of you be smitten before your enemies.

1:44 And the Amorites who were in the hill-country came out against you and put you to flight, rushing after you like bees, and overcame you in Seir, driving you even as far as Hormah.
1:44 And the Amorites, which dwelt in that mountain, came out against you, and chased you, as bees do, and destroyed you in Seir, even unto Hormah.

2:1 Then we went back, journeying into the waste land by the way to the Red Sea, as the Lord had said to me: and we were a long time going round Mount Seir.
2:1 Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea, as the LORD spoke unto me: and we compassed mount Seir many days.

2:2 And the Lord said to me,
2:2 And the LORD spoke unto me, saying,

2:3 You have been journeying round this mountain long enough: now go to the north;
2:3 All of you have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward.

2:4 And give the people orders, saying, You are about to go through the land of your brothers, the children of Esau, who are living in Seir; and they will have fear of you; so take care what you do:
2:4 And command you the people, saying, All of you are to pass through the coast of your brethren the children of Esau, which dwell in Seir; and they shall be afraid of you: take all of you good heed unto yourselves therefore:

2:5 Make no attack on them, for I will not give you any of their land, not even space enough for a man's foot: because I have given Mount Seir to Esau for his heritage.
2:5 Meddle not with them; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so much as a foot breadth; because I have given mount Seir unto Esau for a possession.

2:6 You may get food for your needs from them for a price, and water for drinking.
2:6 All of you shall buy food of them for money, that all of you may eat; and all of you shall also buy water of them for money, that all of you may drink.

2:7 For the blessing of the Lord your God has been on you in all the work of your hands: he has knowledge of your wanderings through this great waste: these forty years the Lord your God has been with you, and you have been short of nothing.
2:7 For the LORD your God has blessed you in all the works of your hand: he knows your walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD your God has been with you; you have lacked nothing.

2:8 So we went on past our brothers, the children of Esau, living in Seir, by the road through the Arabah, from Elath and Ezion-geber. And turning, we went by the road through the waste land of Moab.
2:8 And when we passed by from our brethren the children of Esau, which dwelt in Seir, through the way of the plain from Elath, and from Eziongaber, we turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab.

2:9 And the Lord said to me, Make no attack on Moab and do not go to war with them, for I will not give you any of his land: because I have given Ar to the children of Lot for their heritage.
2:9 And the LORD said unto me, Distress not the Moabites, neither contend with them in battle: for I will not give you of their land for a possession; because I have given Ar unto the children of Lot for a possession.

2:10 The Emims dwelt therein in times past, a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims;

2:11 They are numbered among the Rephaim, like the Anakim; but are named Emim by the Moabites.
2:11 Which also were accounted giants, as the Anakims; but the Moabites called them Emims.

2:12 And the Horites in earlier times were living in Seir, but the children of Esau took their place; they sent destruction on them and took their land for themselves, as Israel did to the land of his heritage which the Lord gave them.)
2:12 The Horims also dwelt in Seir in time past; but the children of Esau succeeded them, when they had destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their position; as Israel did unto the land of his possession, which the LORD gave unto them.

2:13 Now rise up, said I, and get you over the brook Zered. And we went over the brook Zered.

2:14 Thirty-eight years had gone by from the time when we came away from Kadesh-barnea till we went over the stream Zered; by that time all the generation of the men of war among us were dead, as the Lord had said.
2:14 And the space in which we came from Kadeshbarnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, was thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as the LORD swore unto them.

2:15 For indeed the hand of the LORD was against them, to destroy them from among the host, until they were consumed.

2:18 You are about to go by Ar, the limit of the country of Moab;
2:18 You are to pass over through Ar, the coast of Moab, this day:

2:19 And when you come near the land of the children of Ammon, give them no cause of trouble and do not make war on them, for I will not give you any of the land of the children of Ammon for your heritage: because I have given it to the children of Lot.
2:19 And when you come nigh opposite to the children of Ammon, distress them not, nor meddle with them: for I will not give you of the land of the children of Ammon any possession; because I have given it unto the children of Lot for a possession.

2:20 (That land is said to have been a land of the Rephaim, for Rephaim had been living there in earlier times, but they were named Zamzummim by the Ammonites;
2:20 (That also was accounted a land of giants: giants dwelt therein in old time; and the Ammonites call them Zamzummims;

2:21 They were a great people, tall as the Anakim, and equal to them in number; but the Lord sent destruction on them and the children of Ammon took their place, living in their land;
2:21 A people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; but the LORD destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their position:

2:23 And the Avvim, living in the small towns as far as Gaza, came to destruction by the hands of the Caphtorim who came out from Caphtor and took their land.)
2:23 And the Avims which dwelt in Hazerim, even unto Azzah, the Caphtorims, which came forth out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dwelt in their position.)

2:24 Rise all of you up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into yours hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.

2:29 As the children of Esau did for me in Seir and the Moabites in Ar; till I have gone over Jordan into the land which the Lord our God is giving us.
2:29 (As the children of Esau which dwell in Seir, and the Moabites which dwell in Ar, did unto me;) until I shall pass over Jordan into the land which the LORD our God gives us.

2:30 But Sihon, king of Heshbon, would not let us go through; for the Lord your God made his spirit hard and his heart strong, so that he might give him up into your hands as at this day.
2:30 But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him: for the LORD your God hardened his spirit, and made his heart obstinate, that he might deliver him into your hand, as appears this day.

2:31 And the Lord said to me, See, from now on I have given Sihon and his land into your hands: go forward now to take his land and make it yours.

2:34 At that time we took all his towns, and gave them over to complete destruction, together with men, women, and children; we had no mercy on any:

2:36 From Aroer on the edge of the valley of the Arnon and from the town in the valley as far as Gilead, no town was strong enough to keep us out; the Lord our God gave them all into our hands:
2:36 From Aroer, which is by the brink of the river of Arnon, and from the city that is by the river, even unto Gilead, there was not one city too strong for us: the LORD our God delivered all unto us:

2:37 But you did not go near the land of the children of Ammon, that is, all the side of the river Jabbok or the towns of the hill-country, wherever the Lord our God had said we were not to go.
2:37 Only unto the land of the children of Ammon you came not, nor unto any place of the river Jabbok, nor unto the cities in the mountains, nor unto whatsoever the LORD our God forbad us.

3:1 Then turning we took the road to Bashan: and Og, king of Bashan, came out against us with all his people, and made an attack on us at Edrei.
3:1 Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.

3:2 And the Lord said to me, Have no fear of him: for I have given him and all his people and his land into your hands; do to him as you did to Sihon, king of the Amorites, who was ruling in Heshbon.
3:2 And the LORD said unto me, Fear him not: for I will deliver him, and all his people, and his land, into your hand; and you shall do unto him as you did unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon.

3:3 So the Lord our God gave up Og, king of Bashan, and all his people into our hands; and we overcame him so completely that all his people came to their end in the fight.
3:3 So the LORD our God delivered into our hands Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people: and we stroke him until none was left to him remaining.

3:4 At that time we took all his towns; there was not one town of the sixty towns, all the country of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan, which we did not take.
3:4 And we took all his cities at that time, there was not a city which we took not from them, threescore cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

3:5 All these towns had high walls round them with doors and locks; and in addition we took a great number of unwalled towns.
3:5 All these cities were fenced with high walls, gates, and bars; beside towns without protective walls a great many.

3:6 And we put them to the curse, every town together with men, women, and children.
3:6 And we utterly destroyed them, as we did unto Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying the men, women, and children, of every city.

3:8 At that time we took their land from the two kings of the Amorites on the far side of Jordan, from the valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon;
3:8 And we took at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites the land that was on this side Jordan, from the river of Arnon unto mount Hermon;

3:10 All the towns of the table-land and all Gilead and Bashan as far as Salecah and Edrei, towns of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
3:10 All the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, unto Salchah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

3:11 (For Og, king of Bashan, was the last of all the Rephaim; his bed was made of iron; is it not in Rabbah, in the land of the children of Ammon? It was nine cubits long and four cubits wide, measured by the common cubit.)
3:11 For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.

3:12 And this land which we took at that time, from Aroer by the valley of the Arnon, and half the hill-country of Gilead with its towns, I gave to the Reubenites and the Gadites.
3:12 And this land, which we possessed at that time, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, and half mount Gilead, and the cities thereof, gave I unto the Reubenites and to the Gadites.

3:13 The rest of Gilead and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, all the land of Argob, together with Bashan, I gave to the half-tribe of Manasseh. (This land is named the land of the Rephaim.
3:13 And the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, being the kingdom of Og, gave I unto the half tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, with all Bashan, which was called the land of giants.

3:14 Jair, the son of Manasseh, took all the land of Argob, as far as the country of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, naming it, Bashan, Havvoth-Jair after himself, as it is to this day.)
3:14 Jair the son of Manasseh took all the country of Argob unto the coasts of Geshuri and Maachathi; and called them after his own name, Bashanhavothjair, unto this day.

3:16 And the land from Gilead to the valley of the Arnon, with the middle of the valley as a limit, as far as the river Jabbok which is the limit of the country of the children of Ammon, I gave to the Reubenites and the Gadites;
3:16 And unto the Reubenites and unto the Gadites I gave from Gilead even unto the river Arnon half the valley, and the border even unto the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon;

3:17 As well as the Arabah, with the river Jordan as their limit, from Chinnereth to the Salt Sea, under the slopes of Pisgah to the east.
3:17 The plain also, and Jordan, and the coast thereof, from Chinnereth even unto the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, under Ashdothpisgah eastward.

3:18 At that time I gave you orders, saying, The Lord has given you this land for your heritage: all the men of war are to go over armed before your brothers the children of Israel.
3:18 And I commanded you at that time, saying, The LORD your God has given you this land to possess it: all of you shall pass over armed before your brethren the children of Israel, all that are meet for the war.

3:19 But your wives and your little ones and your cattle (for it is clear that you have much cattle) may go on living in the towns I have given you;
3:19 But your wives, and your little ones, and your cattle, (for I know that all of you have much cattle,) shall abide in your cities which I have given you;

3:20 Till the Lord has given rest to your brothers as to you, and till they have taken for themselves the land which the Lord your God is giving them on the other side of Jordan: then you may go back, every man of you, to the heritage which I have given you.
3:20 Until the LORD have given rest unto your brethren, as well as unto you, and until they also possess the land which the LORD your God has given them beyond Jordan: and then shall all of you return every man unto his possession, which I have given you.

3:21 And I gave orders to Joshua at that time, saying, Your eyes have seen what the Lord your God has done to these two kings: so will the Lord do to all the kingdoms into which you come.
3:21 And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, Yours eyes have seen all that the LORD your God has done unto these two kings: so shall the LORD do unto all the kingdoms where you pass.

3:22 Have no fear of them, for the Lord your God will be fighting for you.
3:22 All of you shall not fear them: for the LORD your God he shall fight for you.

3:24 O Lord God, you have now for the first time let your servant see your great power and the strength of your hand; for what god is there in heaven or on earth able to do such great works and such acts of power?
3:24 O Lord GOD, you have begun to show your servant your greatness, and your mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to your works, and according to your might?

3:25 Let me go over, O Lord, and see the good land on the other side of Jordan, and that fair mountain country, even Lebanon.
3:25 I pray you, let me go over, and see the good land that is beyond Jordan, that goodly mountain, and Lebanon.

3:26 But the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, and would not hear me: and the LORD said unto me, Let it suffice you; speak no more unto me of this matter.

3:27 Go up to the top of Pisgah, and turning your eyes to the west and the north, to the south and the east, see the land with your eyes: for you are not to go over Jordan.
3:27 Get you up into the top of Pisgah, and lift up yours eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold it with yours eyes: for you shall not go over this Jordan.

3:28 But give my orders to Joshua, comforting him and making him strong; for he is to go over Jordan at the head of this people, and he will give them this land which you will see for their heritage.
3:28 But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which you shall see.

4:1 And now give ear, O Israel, to the laws and the decisions which I am teaching you, and do them; so that life may be yours, and you may go in and take for yourselves the land which the Lord, the God of your fathers, is giving you.
4:1 Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, in order to do them, that all of you may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers gives you.

4:2 Make no addition to the orders which I give you, and take nothing from them, but keep the orders of the Lord your God which I give you.
4:2 All of you shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall all of you diminish ought from it, that all of you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

4:3 Your eyes have seen what the Lord did because of Baal-peor: for destruction came from the Lord on all those among you who went after Baal-peor.
4:3 Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baalpeor: for all the men that followed Baalpeor, the LORD your God has destroyed them from among you.

4:4 But you who kept faith with the Lord are living, every one of you, today.
4:4 But all of you that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day.

4:5 I have been teaching you laws and decisions, as I was ordered to do by the Lord my God, so that you might keep them in the land to which you are going to take it for your heritage.
4:5 Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that all of you should do so in the land where all of you go to possess it.

4:6 ³ÊÈñ´Â ÁöÄÑ ÇàÇ϶ó ±×¸®ÇÔÀº ¿­±¹ ¾Õ¿¡ ³ÊÈñÀÇ ÁöÇý¿ä ³ÊÈñÀÇ Áö½ÄÀ̶ó ±×µéÀÌ ÀÌ ¸ðµç ±Ô·Ê¸¦ µè°í À̸£±â¸¦ ÀÌ Å« ³ª¶ó »ç¶÷Àº °ú¿¬ ÁöÇý¿Í Áö½ÄÀÌ ÀÖ´Â ¹é¼ºÀ̷δ٠Çϸ®¶ó
4:6 So keep these laws and do them; for so will your wisdom and good sense be clear in the eyes of the peoples, who hearing all these laws will say, Truly, this great nation is a wise and far-seeing people.
4:6 Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

4:7 ¿ì¸® Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ¿ì¸®°¡ ±×¿¡°Ô ±âµµÇÒ ¶§¸¶´Ù ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô °¡±îÀÌ ÇϽɰú °°ÀÌ ±× ½ÅÀÇ °¡±îÀÌ ÇÔÀ» ¾òÀº ³ª¶ó°¡ ¾îµð ÀÖ´À³Ä
4:7 For what great nation has a god so near to them as the Lord our God is, whenever we are turned to him in prayer?
4:7 For what nation is there so great, who has God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?

4:8 ¿À´Ã ³»°¡ ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô ¼±Æ÷ÇÏ´Â ÀÌ À²¹ý°ú °°ÀÌ ±× ±Ô·Ê¿Í ¹ýµµ°¡ °øÀǷοî Å« ³ª¶ó°¡ ¾îµð ÀÖ´À³Ä
4:8 And what great nation has laws and decisions so right as all this law which I put before you today?
4:8 And what nation is there so great, that has statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

4:9 Only take care, and keep watch on your soul, for fear that the things which your eyes have seen go from your memory and from your heart all the days of your life; but let the knowledge of them be given to your children and to your children's children;
4:9 Only take heed to yourself, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things which yours eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life: but teach them your sons, and your sons' sons;

4:10 That day when you were waiting before the Lord your God in Horeb, and the Lord said to me, Make all the people come together, so that hearing my words they may go in fear of me all the days of their life on earth and give this teaching to their children.
4:10 Specially the day that you stood before the LORD your God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.

4:11 ³ÊÈñ°¡ °¡±îÀÌ ³ª¾Æ¿Í¼­ »ê ¾Æ·¡ ¼­´Ï ±× »ê¿¡ ºÒÀÌ ºÙ¾î È­¿°ÀÌ ÃæõÇÏ°í À¯¾Ï°ú ±¸¸§°ú Èæ¾ÏÀÌ µ¤¿´´Âµ¥
4:11 And you came near, waiting at the foot of the mountain; and flames of fire went up from the mountain to the heart of heaven, with dark clouds, and all was black as night.
4:11 And all of you came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.

4:12 And the voice of the Lord came to you out of the fire: the sound of his words came to your ears but you saw no form; there was nothing but a voice.
4:12 And the LORD spoke unto you out of the midst of the fire: all of you heard the voice of the words, but saw no embodiment; only all of you heard a voice.

4:13 And he gave you his agreement with you, the ten rules which you were to keep, which he put in writing on the two stones of the law.
4:13 And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

4:14 And the Lord gave me orders at that time to make clear to you these laws and decisions, so that you might do them in the land to which you are going, and which is to be your heritage.
4:14 And the LORD commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that all of you might do them in the land where all of you go over to possess it.

4:15 So keep watch on yourselves with care; for you saw no form of any sort on the day when the voice of the Lord came to you in Horeb out of the heart of the fire:
4:15 Take all of you therefore good heed unto yourselves; for all of you saw no manner of embodiment on the day that the LORD spoke unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:

4:16 µÎ·Æ°Ç´ë ½º½º·Î ºÎÆÐÇÏ¿© Àڱ⸦ À§ÇÏ¿© ¾Æ¹« Çü»ó´ë·ÎµçÁö ¿ì»óÀ» »õ°Ü ¸¸µéµÇ ³²ÀÚÀÇ Çü»óÀ̶óµçÁö, ¿©ÀÚÀÇ Çü»óÀ̶óµçÁö,
4:16 So that you may not be turned to evil ways and make for yourselves an image in the form of any living thing, male or female,
4:16 Lest all of you corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the embodiment of any figure, the likeness of male or female,

4:17 ¶¥ À§¿¡ ÀÖ´Â ¾Æ¹« Áü½ÂÀÇ Çü»óÀ̶óµçÁö, Çϴÿ¡ ³ª´Â ¾Æ¹« »õÀÇ Çü»óÀ̶óµçÁö,
4:17 Or any beast of the earth, or winged bird of the air,
4:17 The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flies in the air,

4:18 ¶¥ À§¿¡ ±â´Â ¾Æ¹« °ïÃæÀÇ Çü»óÀ̶óµçÁö, ¶¥ ¾Æ·¡ ¹° ¼Ó¿¡ ÀÖ´Â ¾Æ¹« ¾îÁ·ÀÇ Çü»óÀ̶óµçÁö ¸¸µé±î Çϳë¶ó
4:18 Or of anything which goes flat on the earth, or any fish in the water under the earth.
4:18 The likeness of any thing that creeps on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:

4:19 ¶Ç µÎ·Æ°Ç´ë ³×°¡ ÇÏ´ÃÀ» ÇâÇÏ¿© ´«À» µé¾î ÀÏ¿ù ¼º½Å ÇÏ´Ã À§ÀÇ ±ºÁß °ð ³ÊÈñ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ õÇÏ ¸¸¹ÎÀ» À§ÇÏ¿© ºÐÁ¤ÇϽŠ°ÍÀ» º¸°í ¹ÌȤÇÏ¿© ±×°Í¿¡ °æ¹èÇÏ¸ç ¼¶±æ±î Çϳë¶ó
4:19 And when your eyes are lifted up to heaven, and you see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the army of heaven, do not let yourselves be moved to give them worship, or become the servants of what the Lord has given equally to all peoples under heaven.
4:19 And lest you lift up yours eyes unto heaven, and when you see the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, should be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD your God has divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

4:20 But the Lord has taken you out of the flaming fire, out of Egypt, to be to him the people of his heritage, as you are today.
4:20 But the LORD has taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as all of you are this day.

4:21 And the Lord was angry with me because of you, and made an oath that I was not to go over Jordan into the good land which the Lord is giving you for your heritage:
4:21 Furthermore the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, and swore that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in unto that good land, which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance:

4:22 ³ª´Â ÀÌ ¶¥¿¡¼­ Á×°í ¿ä´ÜÀ» °Ç³ÊÁö ¸øÇÏ·Á´Ï¿Í ³ÊÈñ´Â °Ç³Ê°¡¼­ ±× ¾Æ¸§´Ù¿î ¶¥À» ¾òÀ¸¸®´Ï
4:22 But death is to come to me in this land, I may not go over Jordan: but you will go over and take that good land for your heritage.
4:22 But I must die in this land, I must not go over Jordan: but all of you shall go over, and possess that good land.

4:23 Take care that you do not let the agreement of the Lord your God, which he has made with you, go out of your mind, or make for yourselves images of any sort, against the orders which the Lord your God has given you.
4:23 Take heed unto yourselves, lest all of you forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD your God has forbidden you.

4:24 For the Lord your God is an all-burning fire, and he will not let the honour which is his be given to any other.
4:24 For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.

4:25 If, when you have had children and children's children, and have been living a long time in the land, you are turned to evil ways, and make an image of any sort, and do evil in the eyes of the Lord your God, moving him to wrath:
4:25 When you shall brought forth children, and children's children, and all of you shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the LORD your God, to provoke him to anger:

4:26 May heaven and earth be my witnesses against you today, that destruction will quickly overtake you, cutting you off from that land which you are going over Jordan to take; your days will not be long in that land, but you will come to a complete end.
4:26 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that all of you shall soon utterly perish from off the land unto which all of you go over Jordan to possess it; all of you shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.

4:27 And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and all of you shall be left few in number among the heathen, where the LORD shall lead you.

4:28 There you will be the servants of gods, made by men's hands, of wood and stone, having no power of seeing or hearing or taking food or smelling.
4:28 And there all of you shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.

4:30 When you are in trouble and all these things have come on you, if, in the future, you are turned again to the Lord your God, and give ear to his voice:
4:30 When you are in tribulation, and all these things are come upon you, even in the latter days, if you turn to the LORD your God, and shall be obedient unto his voice;

4:31 Because the Lord your God is a God of mercy, he will not take away his help from you or let destruction overtake you, or be false to the agreement which he made by an oath with your fathers.
4:31 (For the LORD your God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake you, neither destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which he swore unto them.

4:32 Give thought now to the days which are past, before your time, from the day when God first gave life to man on the earth, and searching from one end of heaven to the other, see if such a great thing as this has ever been, or if anything like it has been talked of in story.
4:32 For ask now of the days that are past, which were before you, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there has been any such thing as this great thing is, or has been heard like it?

4:34 Has God ever before taken a nation for himself from out of another nation, by punishments and signs and wonders, by war and by a strong hand and a stretched-out arm and great acts of wonder and fear, as the Lord your God did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes?
4:34 Or has God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

5:1 And Moses sent for all Israel, and said to them, Give ear, O Israel, to the laws and the decisions which I give you today, and give attention to them so that you may keep and do them.
5:1 And Moses called all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your ears this day, that all of you may learn them, and keep, and do them.

5:5 (I was between the Lord and you at that time, to make clear to you the word of the Lord: because, through fear of the fire, you did not go up the mountain;) saying,
5:5 (I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to show you the word of the LORD: for all of you were afraid by reason of the fire, and went not up into the mount;) saying,

5:9 You may not go down on your faces before them or give them worship: for I, the Lord your God, am a God who will not give his honour to another; and I will send punishment on the children for the wrongdoing of their fathers, to the third and fourth generation of my haters;
5:9 You shall not bow down yourself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,

5:10 And I will have mercy through a thousand generations on those who have love for me and keep my laws.

5:11 You are not to make use of the name of the Lord your God for an evil purpose; whoever takes the Lord's name on his lips for an evil purpose will be judged as a sinner by the Lord.
5:11 You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that takes his name in vain.

5:14 But the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God; on that day do no work, you or your son or your daughter, or your man-servant or your woman-servant, or your ox or your ass or any of your cattle, or the man from a strange country who is living among you; so that your man-servant and your woman-servant may have rest as well as you.

5:15 And keep in mind that you were a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord your God took you out of that land by his strong hand and his stretched-out arm: for this reason the Lord has given you orders to keep the Sabbath day.

5:21 Or let your desire be turned to your neighbour's wife, or his house or his field or his man-servant or his woman-servant or his ox or his ass or anything which is your neighbour's.

5:24 And said, The Lord has let us see his glory and his power, and his voice has come to us out of the fire: today we have seen that a man may go on living even after hearing the voice of God.
5:24 And all of you said, Behold, the LORD our God has showed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God does talk with man, and he lives.

5:25 Why then is death to be our fate? For if the voice of the Lord our God comes to us any more, death will overtake us, and we will be burned up in this great fire.
5:25 Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.

5:27 Do you go near: and after hearing everything which the Lord our God has to say, give us an account of all he has said to you, and we will give ear, and do it.

5:28 And the LORD heard the voice of your words, when all of you spoke unto me; and the LORD said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto you: they have well said all that they have spoken.

5:31 But as for you, keep your place here by me, and I will give you all the orders and the laws and the decisions which you are to make clear to them, so that they may do them in the land which I am giving them for their heritage.
5:31 But as for you, stand you here by me, and I will speak unto you all the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which you shall teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.

5:33 Go on walking in the way ordered for you by the Lord your God, so that life may be yours and it may be well for you, and your days may be long in the land of your heritage.
5:33 All of you shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God has commanded you, that all of you may live, and that it may be well with you, and that all of you may prolong your days in the land which all of you shall possess.

6:1 Now these are the orders and the laws and the decisions which the Lord your God gave me for your teaching, so that you might do them in the land of your heritage to which you are going:
6:1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that all of you might do them in the land where all of you go to possess it:

6:2 So that living in the fear of the Lord your God, you may keep all his laws and his orders, which I give you: you and your son and your son's son, all the days of your life; and so that your life may be long.
6:2 That you might fear the LORD your God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, you, and your son, and your son's son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged.

6:3 So give ear, O Israel, and take care to do this; so that it may be well for you, and you may be greatly increased, as the Lord the God of your fathers has given you his word, in a land flowing with milk and honey.
6:3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with you, and that all of you may increase mightily, as the LORD God of your fathers has promised you, in the land that flows with milk and honey.

6:7 Teaching them to your children with all care, talking of them when you are at rest in your house or walking by the way, when you go to sleep and when you get up.
6:7 And you shall teach them diligently unto your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in yours house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.

6:8 Let them be fixed as a sign on your hand, and marked on your brow;
6:8 And you shall bind them for a sign upon yours hand, and they shall be as frontlets between yours eyes.

6:9 Have them lettered on the pillars of your houses and over the doors of your towns.

6:10 And when the Lord your God has taken you into the land which he gave his oath to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, that he would give you; with great and fair towns which were not of your building;
6:10 And it shall be, when the LORD your God shall have brought you into the land which he swore unto your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you great and goodly cities, which you builded not,

6:11 And houses full of good things not stored up by you, and places for storing water which you did not make, and vine-gardens and olive-trees not of your planting; and you have taken food and are full;
6:11 And houses full of all good things, which you filled not, and wells dug, which you dug not, vineyards and olive trees, which you planted not; when you shall have eaten and be full;

6:12 Then take care that you keep your hearts true to the Lord, who took you out of the land of Egypt, out of the prison-house.

6:15 For the Lord your God who is with you is a God who will not let his honour be given to another; or the wrath of the Lord will be burning against you, causing your destruction from the face of the earth.
6:15 (For the LORD your God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD your God be kindled against you, and destroy you from off the face of the earth.

6:17 Keep with care the orders of the Lord your God, and his rules and his laws which he has given you;
6:17 All of you shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he has commanded you.

6:18 And do what is upright and good in the eyes of the Lord your God, so that it may be well for you and you may go in and take for your heritage that good land from which the Lord undertook by an oath to your fathers,
6:18 And you shall do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and possess the good land which the LORD swore unto your fathers.

6:20 And when your son says to you in time to come, What is the reason for these rules and laws and decisions which the Lord our God has given you?
6:20 And when your son asks you in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God has commanded you?

6:21 ³Ê´Â ³× ¾Æµé¿¡°Ô À̸£±â¸¦ ¿ì¸®°¡ ¿¾Àû¿¡ ¾Ö±Á¿¡¼­ ¹Ù·ÎÀÇ Á¾ÀÌ µÇ¾ú´õ´Ï ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ±Ç´ÉÀÇ ¼ÕÀ¸·Î ¿ì¸®¸¦ ¾Ö±Á¿¡¼­ ÀεµÇÏ¿© ³»¼Ì³ª´Ï
6:21 Then you will say to your son, We were servants under Pharaoh's yoke in Egypt; and the Lord took us out of Egypt with a strong hand:
6:21 Then you shall say unto your son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:

6:22 And the Lord did great signs and wonders against Egypt, and against Pharaoh and all his house, before our eyes:
6:22 And the LORD showed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:

6:23 And he took us out from that place, guiding us here to give us this land, as he said in his oath to our fathers.
6:23 And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he swore unto our fathers.

6:24 And the Lord gave us orders to keep all these laws, in the fear of the Lord our God, so that it might be well for us for ever, and that he might keep us from death, as he has done to this day.
6:24 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.

6:25 And it will be our righteousness if we take care to keep all this order before the Lord our God as he has given it to us.
6:25 And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he has commanded us.

7:1 When the Lord your God takes you into the land where you are going, which is to be your heritage, and has sent out the nations before you, the Hittites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Canaanites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and stronger than you;
7:1 When the LORD your God shall bring you into the land where you go to possess it, and has cast out many nations before you, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than you;

7:2 ³× Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ±×µéÀ» ³×°Ô ºÙ¿© ³Ê·Î Ä¡°Ô ÇϽø®´Ï ±×¶§¿¡ ³Ê´Â ±×µéÀ» Áø¸êÇÒ °ÍÀ̶ó ±×µé°ú ¹«½¼ ¾ð¾àµµ ¸» °ÍÀÌ¿ä ±×µéÀ» ºÒ½ÖÈ÷ ¿©±âÁöµµ ¸» °ÍÀ̸ç
7:2 And when the Lord has given them up into your hands and you have overcome them, give them up to complete destruction: make no agreement with them, and have no mercy on them:
7:2 And when the LORD your God shall deliver them before you; you shall strike them, and utterly destroy them; you shall make no covenant with them, nor show mercy unto them:

7:3 Do not take wives or husbands from among them; do not give your daughters to their sons, or take their daughters for your sons.
7:3 Neither shall you make marriages with them; your daughter you shall not give unto his son, nor his daughter shall you take unto your son.

7:4 For through them your sons will be turned from me to the worship of other gods: and the Lord will be moved to wrath against you and send destruction on you quickly.
7:4 For they will turn away your son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy you suddenly.

7:5 ¿ÀÁ÷ ³ÊÈñ°¡ ±×µé¿¡°Ô ÇàÇÒ °ÍÀº ÀÌ·¯ÇÏ´Ï ±×µéÀÇ ´ÜÀ» Çæ¸ç ÁÖ»óÀ» ±ú¶ß¸®¸ç ¾Æ¼¼¶ó ¸ñ»óÀ» ÂïÀ¸¸ç Á¶°¢ÇÑ ¿ì»óµéÀ» ºÒ»ç¸¦ °ÍÀ̴϶ó
7:5 But this is what you are to do to them: their altars are to be pulled down and their pillars broken, and their holy trees cut down and their images burned with fire.
7:5 But thus shall all of you deal with them; all of you shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.

7:6 ³Ê´Â ¿©È£¿Í ³× Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¼º¹ÎÀ̶ó ³× Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ Áö»ó ¸¸¹Î Áß¿¡¼­ ³Ê¸¦ Àڱ⠱â¾÷ÀÇ ¹é¼ºÀ¸·Î ÅÃÇϼ̳ª´Ï
7:6 For you are a holy people to the Lord your God: marked out by the Lord your God to be his special people out of all the nations on the face of the earth.
7:6 For you are an holy people unto the LORD your God: the LORD your God has chosen you to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.

7:7 ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ³ÊÈñ¸¦ ±â»µÇÏ½Ã°í ³ÊÈñ¸¦ ÅÃÇϽÉÀº ³ÊÈñ°¡ ´Ù¸¥ ¹ÎÁ·º¸´Ù ¼öÈ¿°¡ ¸¹Àº ¿¬°í°¡ ¾Æ´Ï¶ó ³ÊÈñ´Â ¸ðµç ¹ÎÁ· Áß¿¡ °¡Àå ÀûÀ¸´Ï¶ó
7:7 The Lord did not give you his love or take you for himself because you were more in number than any other people; for you were the smallest of the nations:
7:7 The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because all of you were more in number than any people; for all of you were the few of all people:

7:8 ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ´Ù¸¸ ³ÊÈñ¸¦ »ç¶ûÇϽÉÀ» ÀÎÇÏ¿©, ¶Ç´Â ³ÊÈñ ¿­Á¶¿¡°Ô ÇϽŠ¸Í¼¼¸¦ ÁöÅ°·Á ÇϽÉÀ» ÀÎÇÏ¿© ÀÚ±âÀÇ ±Ç´ÉÀÇ ¼ÕÀ¸·Î ³ÊÈñ¸¦ ÀεµÇÏ¿© ³»½ÃµÇ ³ÊÈñ¸¦ ±× Á¾ µÇ¾ú´ø Áý¿¡¼­ ¾Ö±Á ¿Õ ¹Ù·ÎÀÇ ¼Õ¿¡¼­ ¼Ó·®Çϼ̳ª´Ï
7:8 But because of his love for you, and in order to keep his oath to your fathers, the Lord took you out with the strength of his hand, making you free from the prison-house and from the hand of Pharaoh, king of Egypt.
7:8 But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, has the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

7:9 ±×·±Áï ³Ê´Â ¾Ë¶ó ¿ÀÁ÷ ³× Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í´Â Çϳª´ÔÀÌ½Ã¿ä ½Å½ÇÇϽŠÇϳª´ÔÀ̽öó ±×¸¦ »ç¶ûÇÏ°í ±× °è¸íÀ» ÁöÅ°´Â ÀÚ¿¡°Ô´Â õ ´ë±îÁö ±× ¾ð¾àÀ» ÀÌÇàÇϽøç Àξָ¦ º£Çª½ÃµÇ
7:9 Be certain, then, that the Lord your God is God; whose faith and mercy are unchanging, who keeps his word through a thousand generations to those who have love for him and keep his laws;
7:9 Know therefore that the LORD your God, he is God, the faithful God, which keeps covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

7:10 ±×¸¦ ¹Ì¿öÇÏ´Â ÀÚ¿¡°Ô´Â ´çÀå¿¡ º¸ÀÀÇÏ¿© ¸êÇϽóª´Ï ¿©È£¿Í´Â Àڱ⸦ ¹Ì¿öÇÏ´Â ÀÚ¿¡°Ô ÁöüÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ½Ã°í ´çÀå¿¡ ±×¿¡°Ô º¸ÀÀÇϽôÀ´Ï¶ó
7:10 Rewarding his haters to their face with destruction; he will have no mercy on his hater, but will give him open punishment.
7:10 And repays them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hates him, he will repay him to his face.

7:11 ±×·±Áï ³Ê´Â ¿À´Ã³¯ ³»°¡ ³×°Ô ¸íÇÏ´Â ¸í·É°ú ±Ô·Ê¿Í ¹ýµµ¸¦ ÁöÄÑ ÇàÇÒÁö´Ï¶ó
7:11 So keep the orders and the laws and the decisions which I give you today and do them.
7:11 You shall therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command you this day, to do them.

7:12 ¡Û ³ÊÈñ°¡ ÀÌ ¸ðµç ¹ýµµ¸¦ µè°í ÁöÄÑ ÇàÇÏ¸é ³× Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ³× ¿­Á¶¿¡°Ô ¸Í¼¼ÇϽŠ¾ð¾àÀ» ÁöÄÑ ³×°Ô Àξָ¦ º£Çª½Ç °ÍÀ̶ó
7:12 And it will be, that if you give attention to these decisions and keep and do them, then the Lord will keep his agreement with you and his mercy, as he said in his oath to your fathers.
7:12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, if all of you hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD your God shall keep unto you the covenant and the mercy which he swore unto your fathers:

7:13 °ð ³Ê¸¦ »ç¶ûÇÏ½Ã°í º¹À» ÁÖ»ç ³Ê·Î ¹ø¼ºÄÉ ÇÏ½ÃµÇ ³×°Ô ÁÖ¸®¶ó°í ³× ¿­Á¶¿¡°Ô ¸Í¼¼ÇϽŠ¶¥¿¡¼­ ³× ¼Ò»ý¿¡°Ô ÀºÇý¸¦ º£Çª½Ã¸ç ³× ÅäÁö ¼Ò»ê°ú °î½Ä°ú Æ÷µµÁÖ¿Í ±â¸§À» dz¼ºÄÉ ÇÏ½Ã°í ³× ¼Ò¿Í ¾çÀ» ¹ø½ÄÄÉ ÇϽø®´Ï
7:13 And he will give you his love, blessing you and increasing you: he will send his blessing on the offspring of your body and the fruit of your land, your grain and your wine and your oil, the increase of your cattle and the young of your flock, in the land which by his oath to your fathers he undertook to give you.
7:13 And he will love you, and bless you, and multiply you: he will also bless the fruit of your womb, and the fruit of your land, your corn, and your wine, and yours oil, the increase of your cattle, and the flocks of your sheep, in the land which he swore unto your fathers to give you.

7:14 ³×°¡ º¹À» ¹ÞÀ½ÀÌ ¸¸¹Îº¸´Ù ¿ì½ÂÇÏ¿© ³ÊÈñ ÁßÀÇ ³²³à¿Í ³ÊÈñ Áü½ÂÀÇ ¾Ï¼ö¿¡ »ýÀ°ÇÏÁö ¸øÇÔÀÌ ¾øÀ» °ÍÀ̸ç
7:14 You will have greater blessings than any other people: no male or female among you or among your cattle will be without offspring.
7:14 You shall be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.

7:15 ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ¶Ç ¸ðµç Áúº´À» ³×°Ô¼­ ¸Ö¸®ÇÏ»ç ³ÊÈñ°¡ ¾Æ´Â ¹Ù ±× ¾Ö±ÁÀÇ ¾ÇÁúÀÌ ³×°Ô ÀÓÇÏÁö ¾Ê°Ô ÇÏ½Ã°í ³Ê¸¦ ¹Ì¿öÇÏ´Â ¸ðµç ÀÚ¿¡°Ô ÀÓÇÏ°Ô ÇÏ½Ç °ÍÀ̶ó
7:15 And the Lord will take away from you all disease, and will not put on you any of the evil diseases of Egypt which you have seen, but will put them on your haters.
7:15 And the LORD will take away from you all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which you know, upon you; but will lay them upon all them that hate you.

7:16 ³× Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ³×°Ô ºÙÀ̽Š¸ðµç ¹ÎÁ·À» ³× ´«ÀÌ ±àÈáÈ÷ º¸Áö ¸»°í Áø¸êÇÏ°í ±× ½ÅÀ» ¼¶±âÁö ¸»¶ó ±×°ÍÀÌ ³×°Ô ¿Ã¹«°¡ µÇ¸®¶ó
7:16 And you are to send destruction on all the peoples which the Lord your God gives into your hands; have no pity on them, and do not give worship to their gods; for that will be a cause of sin to you.
7:16 And you shall consume all the people which the LORD your God shall deliver you; yours eye shall have no pity upon them: neither shall you serve their gods; for that will be a snare unto you.

7:17 ¡Û ³×°¡ Ȥ½Ã ½ÉÁß¿¡ À̸£±â¸¦ ÀÌ ¹ÎÁ·µéÀÌ ³ªº¸´Ù ¸¹À¸´Ï ³»°¡ ¾îÂî ±×¸¦ ÂÑ¾Æ ³¾ ¼ö ÀÖÀ¸¸®¿ä Çϸ®¶ó¸¶´Â
7:17 If you say in your hearts, These nations are greater in number than we are: how are we to take their land from them?
7:17 If you shall say in yours heart, These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them?

7:18 ±×µéÀ» µÎ·Á¿ö ¸»°í ³× Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ¹Ù·Î¿Í ¿Â ¾Ö±Á¿¡ ÇàÇϽŠ°ÍÀ» Àß ±â¾ïÇϵÇ
7:18 Have no fear of them, but keep well in mind what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt;
7:18 You shall not be afraid of them: but shall well remember what the LORD your God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt;

7:19 ³× Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ³Ê¸¦ ÀεµÇÏ¿© ³»½Ç ¶§¿¡ ³×°¡ ¸ñµµÇÑ Å« ½ÃÇè°ú ÀÌÀû°ú ±â»ç¿Í °­ÇÑ ¼Õ°ú Æí ÆÈÀ» ±â¾ïÇ϶ó ±×¿Í °°ÀÌ ³× Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ³×°¡ µÎ·Á¿öÇÏ´Â ¸ðµç ¹ÎÁ·¿¡°Ô ÇàÇÏ½Ç °ÍÀÌ¿ä
7:19 The great punishments which your eyes saw, and the signs and the wonders and the strong hand and the stretched-out arm, by which the Lord your God took you out: so will the Lord your God do to all the peoples who are the cause of your fears.
7:19 The great temptations which yours eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the stretched out arm, whereby the LORD your God brought you out: so shall the LORD your God do unto all the people of whom you are afraid.

7:20 ³× Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ¶Ç ¿Õ¹úÀ» ±×µé Áß¿¡ º¸³»¾î ±×µéÀÇ ³²Àº ÀÚ¿Í ³Ê¸¦ ÇÇÇÏ¿© ¼ûÀº ÀÚ¸¦ ¸êÇϽø®´Ï
7:20 And the Lord will send a hornet among them, till all the rest who have kept themselves safe from you in secret places have been cut off.
7:20 Moreover the LORD your God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and hide themselves from you, be destroyed.

7:21 Have no fear of them: for the Lord your God is with you, a great God greatly to be feared.
7:21 You shall not be affrighted at them: for the LORD your God is among you, a mighty God and terrible.

7:22 ³× Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ÀÌ ¹ÎÁ·µéÀ» ³× ¾Õ¿¡¼­ Á¡Á¡ ÂѾƳ»½Ã¸®´Ï ³Ê´Â ±×µéÀ» ±ÞÈ÷ ¸êÇÏÁö ¸»¶ó µÎ·Æ°Ç´ë µéÁü½ÂÀÌ ¹ø¼ºÇÏ¿© ³Ê¸¦ ÇØÇÒ±î Çϳë¶ó
7:22 The Lord your God will send out the nations before you little by little; they are not to be rooted out quickly, for fear that the beasts of the field may be increased overmuch against you.
7:22 And the LORD your God will put out those nations before you by little and little: you may not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon you.

7:23 ³× Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ±×µéÀ» ³×°Ô ºÙÀÌ½Ã°í ±×µéÀ» Å©°Ô ¿ä¶õÄÉ ÇÏ¿© ÇÊ°æÀº Áø¸êÇϽðí
7:23 But the Lord your God will give them up into your hands, overpowering them till their destruction is complete.
7:23 But the LORD your God shall deliver them unto you, and shall destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they be destroyed.

7:24 He will give their kings into your hands, and you will put their names out of existence under heaven; there is not one of them who will not give way before you, till their destruction is complete.
7:24 And he shall deliver their kings into yours hand, and you shall destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before you, until you have destroyed them.

7:25 The images of their gods are to be burned with fire: have no desire for the gold and silver on them, and do not take it for yourselves, for it will be a danger to you: it is a thing disgusting to the Lord your God:
7:25 The graven images of their gods shall all of you burn with fire: you shall not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto you, lest you be snared therin: for it is an abomination to the LORD your God.

7:26 And you may not take a disgusting thing into your house, and so become cursed with its curse: but keep yourselves from it, turning from it with fear and hate, for it is a cursed thing.
7:26 Neither shall you bring an abomination into yours house, lest you be a cursed thing like it: but you shall utterly detest it, and you shall utterly detest it; for it is a cursed thing.

8:1 Take care to keep all the orders which I give you today, so that you may have life and be increased and go in and take as a heritage the land which the Lord, by his oath to your fathers, undertook to give you.
8:1 All the commandments which I command you this day shall all of you observe to do, that all of you may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD swore unto your fathers.

8:2 And keep in mind the way by which the Lord your God has taken you through the waste land these forty years, so that he might make low your pride and put you to the test, to see what was in your heart and if you would keep his orders or not.
8:2 And you shall remember all the way which the LORD your God led you these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you, and to prove you, to know what was in yours heart, whether you would keep his commandments, or no.

8:3 And he made low your pride and let you be without food and gave you manna for your food, a thing new to you, which your fathers never saw; so that he might make it clear to you that bread is not man's only need, but his life is in every word which comes out of the mouth of the Lord.
8:3 And he humbled you, and suffered you to hunger, and fed you with manna, which you knew not, neither did your fathers know; that he might make you know that man does not live by bread only, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD does man live.

8:4 Through all these forty years your clothing did not get old or your feet become tired.
8:4 Your raiment waxed not old upon you, neither did your foot swell, these forty years.

8:5 Keep in mind this thought, that as a son is trained by his father, so you have been trained by the Lord your God.
8:5 You shall also consider in yours heart, that, as a man chastens his son, so the LORD your God chastens you.

8:6 ³× Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸í·ÉÀ» ÁöÄÑ ±× µµ¸¦ ÇàÇÏ¸ç ±×¸¦ °æ¿ÜÇÒÁö´Ï¶ó
8:6 Then keep the orders of the Lord your God, fearing him and walking in his ways.
8:6 Therefore you shall keep the commandments of the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.

8:7 For the Lord your God is guiding you into a good land, a land of water-springs, of fountains, and deep streams flowing out from the valleys and the hills;
8:7 For the LORD your God brings you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills;

8:8 A land of grain and vines and fig-trees and fair fruits; a land of oil-giving olive-trees and honey;
8:8 A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey;

8:9 Where there will be bread for you in full measure and you will be in need of nothing; a land where the very stones are iron and from whose hills you may get copper.
8:9 A land wherein you shall eat bread without scarceness, you shall not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you may dig brass.

8:10 And you will have food enough and be full, praising the Lord your God for the good land he has given you.
8:10 When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land which he has given you.

8:11 Then take care that you are not turned away from the Lord your God and from keeping his orders and decisions and laws which I give you this day:
8:11 Beware that you forget not the LORD your God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command you this day:

8:12 And when you have taken food and are full, and have made fair houses for yourselves and are living in them;
8:12 Lest when you have eaten and are full, and have built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;

8:13 And when your herds and your flocks are increased, and your stores of silver and gold, and you have wealth of every sort;
8:13 And when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold is multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied;

8:14 Take care that your hearts are not lifted up in pride, giving no thought to the Lord your God who took you out of the land of Egypt, out of the prison-house;
8:14 Then yours heart be lifted up, and you forget the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;

8:15 Who was your guide through that great and cruel waste, where there were poison-snakes and scorpions and a dry land without water; who made water come out of the hard rock for you;
8:15 Who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought you forth water out of the rock of flint;

8:16 Who gave you manna for your food in the waste land, a food which your fathers had never seen; so that your pride might be broken and your hearts tested for your good in the end;
8:16 Who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers knew not, that he might humble you, and that he might prove you, to do you good at your latter end;

8:17 Say not then, in your hearts, My power and the strength of my hands have got me this wealth.
8:17 And you say in yours heart, My power and the might of mine hand has got me this wealth.

8:18 But keep in mind the Lord your God: for it is he who gives you the power to get wealth, so that he may give effect to the agreement which he made by his oath with your fathers, as at this day.
8:18 But you shall remember the LORD your God: for it is he that gives you power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore unto your fathers, as it is this day.

8:19 And it is certain that if at any time you are turned away from the Lord your God, and go after other gods, to be their servants and to give them worship, destruction will overtake you.
8:19 And it shall be, if you do at all forget the LORD your God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that all of you shall surely perish.

8:20 Like the nations which the Lord is cutting off before you, so you will be cut off; because you would not give ear to the voice of the Lord your God.
8:20 As the nations which the LORD destroys before your face, so shall all of you perish; because all of you would not be obedient unto the voice of the LORD your God.

9:1 Give ear, O Israel: today you are to go over Jordan, to take the heritage of nations greater and stronger than yourselves, and towns of great size with walls as high as heaven;
9:1 Hear, O Israel: You are to pass over Jordan this day, to go in to possess nations greater and mightier than yourself, cities great and fenced up to heaven,

9:2 A people great and tall, the sons of the Anakim, of whom you have knowledge and of whom it has been said, All are forced to give way before the sons of Anak.

9:3 Be certain then today that it is the Lord your God who goes over before you like an all-burning fire; he will send destruction on them, crushing them before you; and you will send them in flight, putting an end to them quickly, as the Lord has said.
9:3 Understand therefore this day, that the LORD your God is he which goes over before you; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before your face: so shall you drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the LORD has said unto you.

9:4 And after the Lord has sent them in flight from before you, say not in your heart, Because of my righteousness the Lord has given me this land; when it is because of their evil-doing that the Lord is driving these nations out before you.
9:4 Speak not you in yours heart, after that the LORD your God has cast them out from before you, saying, For my righteousness the LORD has brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD does drive them out from before you.

9:5 ³×°¡ °¡¼­ ±× ¶¥À» ¾òÀ½Àº ³ÊÀÇ ÀǷοòÀ» ÀÎÇÔµµ ¾Æ´Ï¸ç ³× ¸¶À½ÀÌ Á¤Á÷ÇÔÀ» ÀÎÇÔµµ ¾Æ´Ï¿ä ÀÌ ¹ÎÁ·µéÀÇ ¾ÇÇÔÀ» ÀÎÇÏ¿© ³× Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ±×µéÀ» ³× ¾Õ¿¡¼­ ÂѾƳ»½ÉÀÌ¶ó ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ÀÌ°°ÀÌ ÇϽÉÀº ³× ¿­Á¶ ¾Æºê¶óÇÔ°ú ÀÌ»è°ú ¾ß°ö¿¡°Ô ÇϽŠ¸Í¼¼¸¦ ÀÌ·ç·Á ÇϽÉÀ̴϶ó
9:5 Not for your righteousness or because your hearts are upright are you going in to take their land; but because of the evil-doing of these nations the Lord your God is driving them out from before you, and to give effect to his oath to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
9:5 Not for your righteousness, or for the uprightness of yours heart, do you go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD your God does drive them out from before you, and that he may perform the word which the LORD swore unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

9:6 ¡Û ±×·¯¹Ç·Î ³×°¡ ¾Ë °ÍÀº ³× Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ³×°Ô ÀÌ ¾Æ¸§´Ù¿î ¶¥À» ±â¾÷À¸·Î ÁֽŠ°ÍÀÌ ³× ÀǷοòÀ» ÀÎÇÔÀÌ ¾Æ´Ï´Ï¶ó ³Ê´Â ¸ñÀÌ °ðÀº ¹é¼ºÀ̴϶ó
9:6 Be certain then that the Lord your God is not giving you this good land as a reward for your righteousness; for you are a stiff-necked people.
9:6 Understand therefore, that the LORD your God gives you not this good land to possess it for your righteousness; for you are a stubborn people.

9:7 Keep well in mind how you made the Lord your God angry in the waste land; from the day when you went out of Egypt till you came to this place, you have gone against the orders of the Lord.
9:7 Remember, and forget not, how you provoked the LORD your God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that you did depart out of the land of Egypt, until all of you came unto this place, all of you have been rebellious against the LORD.

9:8 Also in Horeb all of you provoked the LORD to wrath, so that the LORD was angry with you to have destroyed you.

9:9 When I had gone up into the mountain to be given the stones on which was recorded the agreement which the Lord made with you, I was on the mountain for forty days and forty nights without taking food or drinking water.
9:9 When I was gone up into the mount to receive the tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant which the LORD made with you, then I abode in the mount forty days and forty nights, I neither did eat bread nor drink water:

9:10 ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ µÎ µ¹ÆÇÀ» ³×°Ô Áּ̳ª´Ï ±× ÆÇÀÇ ±ÛÀº Çϳª´ÔÀÌ Ä£¼ö·Î ±â·ÏÇϽŠ°ÍÀÌ¿ä ³ÊÈñ ÃÑȸ ³¯¿¡ ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ »ê»ó ºÒ °¡¿îµ¥¼­ ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô À̸£½Å ¸ðµç ¸»¾¸À̴϶ó
9:10 And the Lord gave me the two stones with writing on them done by the finger of God: on them were recorded all the words which the Lord said to you on the mountain out of the heart of the fire, on the day of the great meeting.
9:10 And the LORD delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them was written according to all the words, which the LORD spoke with you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.

9:11 »ç½Ê Á־߰¡ Áö³­ ÈÄ¿¡ ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ³»°Ô µ¹ÆÇ °ð ¾ð¾àÀÇ µÎ µ¹ÆÇÀ» Áֽðí
9:11 Then at the end of forty days and forty nights the Lord gave me those stones, the stones of the agreement.
9:11 And it came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights, that the LORD gave me the two tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant.

9:12 ³»°Ô À̸£½ÃµÇ ÀϾ ¿©±â¼­ ¼ÓÈ÷ ³»·Á°¡¶ó ³×°¡ ¾Ö±Á¿¡¼­ ÀεµÇÏ¿© ³½ ³» ¹é¼ºÀÌ ½º½º·Î ºÎÆÐÇÏ¿© ³»°¡ ±×µé¿¡°Ô ¸íÇÑ µµ¸¦ ¼ÓÈ÷ ¶°³ª Àڱ⸦ À§ÇÏ¿© ¿ì»óÀ» ºÎ¾î ¸¸µé¾ú´À´Ï¶ó
9:12 And the Lord said to me, Get up now, and go down quickly from this place; for the people you have taken out of Egypt have given themselves over to evil; they have quickly been turned from the way in which I gave them orders to go; they have made themselves a metal image.
9:12 And the LORD said unto me, Arise, get you down quickly from behind; for your people which you have brought forth out of Egypt have corrupted themselves; they are quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a molten image.

9:13 ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ¶Ç ³»°Ô ÀÏ·¯ °¡¶ó»ç´ë ³»°¡ ÀÌ ¹é¼ºÀ» º¸¾Ò³ë¶ó º¸¶ó ÀÌ´Â ¸ñÀÌ °ðÀº ¹é¼ºÀ̴϶ó
9:13 And then the Lord said to me, I have seen that this people is stiff-necked:
9:13 Furthermore the LORD spoke unto me, saying, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stubborn people:

9:14 ³ª¸¦ ¸·Áö ¸»¶ó ³»°¡ ±×µéÀ» ¸êÇÏ¿© ±× À̸§À» õÇÏ¿¡¼­ µµ¸»ÇÏ°í ³Ê·Î ±×µéº¸´Ù °­´ëÇÑ ³ª¶ó°¡ µÇ°Ô Çϸ®¶ó ÇϽñâ·Î
9:14 Let me send destruction on them till their very name is cut off; and I will make of you a nation greater and stronger than they.
9:14 Let me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under heaven: and I will make of you a nation mightier and greater than they.

9:15 ³»°¡ µ¹ÀÌÄÑ »ê¿¡¼­ ³»·Á¿À´Âµ¥ »ê¿¡´Â ºÒÀÌ ºÙ¾ú°í ¾ð¾àÀÇ µÎ µ¹ÆÇÀº ³» ¼Õ¿¡ ÀÖ¾ú´À´Ï¶ó
9:15 So turning round I came down from the mountain, and the mountain was burning with fire; and the two stones of the agreement were in my hands.
9:15 So I turned and came down from the mount, and the mount burned with fire: and the two tables of the covenant were in my two hands.

9:16 ³»°¡ º»Áï ³ÊÈñ°¡ ³ÊÈñ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿Í²² ¹üÁËÇÏ¿© Àڱ⸦ À§ÇÏ¿© ¼Û¾ÆÁö¸¦ ºÎ¾î ¸¸µé¾î¼­ ±Þ¼ÓÈ÷ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸íÇϽŠµµ¸¦ ¶°³µ±â·Î
9:16 And I saw that you had done evil against the Lord, and had made for yourselves a metal image of a young ox: you had quickly been turned from the way in which the Lord had given you orders to go.
9:16 And I looked, and, behold, all of you had sinned against the LORD your God, and had made you a molten calf: all of you had turned aside quickly out of the way which the LORD had commanded you.

9:17 ³»°¡ ±× µÎ µ¹ÆÇÀ» ³» µÎ ¼Õ¿¡¼­ µé¾î ´øÁ® ³ÊÈñÀÇ ¸ñÀü¿¡¼­ ±ú¶ß·È¾ú³ë¶ó
9:17 And I let the stones go from my hands, and they were broken before your eyes.
9:17 And I took the two tables, and cast them out of my two hands, and brake them before your eyes.

9:18 ±×¸®°í ³»°¡ Àü°ú °°ÀÌ »ç½Ê Á־߸¦ ¿©È£¿Í ¾Õ¿¡ ¾þµå·Á¼­ ¶±µµ ¸ÔÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ°í ¹°µµ ¸¶½ÃÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ¿´À¸´Ï ÀÌ´Â ³ÊÈñ°¡ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸ñÀü¿¡ ¾ÇÀ» ÇàÇÏ¿© ±×¸¦ °Ý³ëÄÉ ÇÏ¿© Å©°Ô Á˸¦ ¾ò¾úÀ½À̶ó
9:18 And I went down on my face before the Lord, as at the first, for forty days and forty nights, without taking food or drinking water, because of all your sin, in doing evil in the eyes of the Lord and moving him to wrath.
9:18 And I fell down before the LORD, as at the first, forty days and forty nights: I did neither eat bread, nor drink water, because of all your sins which all of you sinned, in doing wickedly in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

9:19 ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ½ÉÈ÷ ºÐ³ëÇÏ»ç ³ÊÈñ¸¦ ¸êÇÏ·Á ÇϼÌÀ¸¹Ç·Î ³»°¡ µÎ·Á¿öÇÏ¿´¾ú³ë¶ó ±×·¯³ª ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ±×¶§¿¡µµ ³» ¸»À» µéÀ¸¼Ì°í
9:19 For I was full of fear because of the wrath of the Lord which was burning against you, with your destruction in view. But again the Lord's ear was open to my prayer.
9:19 For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, wherewith the LORD was angry against you to destroy you. But the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also.

9:20 ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ¶Ç ¾Æ·Ð¿¡°Ô Áø³ëÇÏ»ç ±×¸¦ ¸êÇÏ·Á ÇϼÌÀ¸¹Ç·Î ³»°¡ ±×¶§¿¡µµ ¾Æ·ÐÀ» À§ÇÏ¿© ±âµµÇÏ°í
9:20 And the Lord, in his wrath, would have put Aaron to death: and I made prayer for Aaron at the same time.
9:20 And the LORD was very angry with Aaron to have destroyed him: and I prayed for Aaron also the same time.

9:21 ³ÊÈñÀÇ ÁË °ð ³ÊÈñÀÇ ¸¸µç ¼Û¾ÆÁö¸¦ ÃëÇÏ¿© ºÒ»ì¶ó Âö°í Ƽ²ø °°ÀÌ °¡´Ã°Ô °¥¾Æ ±× °¡·ç¸¦ »ê¿¡¼­ Èê·¯ ³»¸®´Â ½Ã³»¿¡ »Ñ·È¾ú´À´Ï¶ó
9:21 And I took your sin, the image which you had made, and put it in the fire and had it hammered and crushed very small till it was only dust: and the dust I put in the stream flowing down from the mountain.
9:21 And I took your sin, the calf which all of you had made, and burnt it with fire, and stamped it, and ground it very small, even until it was as small as dust: and I cast the dust thereof into the brook that descended out of the mount.

9:22 ¡Û ³ÊÈñ°¡ ´Ùº£¶ó¿Í ¸À»ç¿Í ±âºê·Ô ÇִپƿͿ¡¼­µµ ¿©È£¿Í¸¦ °Ý³ëÄÉ ÇÏ¿´´À´Ï¶ó
9:22 Again at Taberah and at Massah and at Kibroth-hattaavah you made the Lord angry.
9:22 And at Taberah, and at Massah, and at Kibrothhattaavah, all of you provoked the LORD to wrath.

9:23 ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ³ÊÈñ¸¦ °¡µ¥½º ¹Ù³×¾Æ¿¡¼­ ¶°³ª°Ô ÇÏ½Ç ¶§¿¡ À̸£½Ã±â¸¦ ³ÊÈñ´Â ¿Ã¶ó°¡¼­ ³»°¡ ³ÊÈñ¿¡°Ô ÁØ ¶¥À» ¾òÀ¸¶ó ÇÏ½ÃµÇ ³ÊÈñ°¡ ³ÊÈñ Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸í·ÉÀ» °Å¿ªÇÏ¿© ¹ÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ°í ±× ¸»¾¸À» µèÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ¿´³ª´Ï
9:23 And when the Lord sent you from Kadesh-barnea, saying, Go up and take the land which I have given you; you went against the orders of the Lord your God, and had no faith in him, and would not give ear to his voice.
9:23 Likewise when the LORD sent you from Kadeshbarnea, saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given you; then all of you rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God, and all of you believed him not, nor hearkened to his voice.

9:24 ³»°¡ ³ÊÈñ¸¦ ¾Ë´ø ³¯ºÎÅÍ ¿ÈÀ¸·Î ³ÊÈñ°¡ Ç×»ó ¿©È£¿Í¸¦ °Å¿ªÇÏ¿´´À´Ï¶ó
9:24 From the day when I first had knowledge of you, you have gone against the word of the Lord.
9:24 All of you have been rebellious against the LORD from the day that I knew you.

9:25 ¡Û ±×¶§¿¡ ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ³ÊÈñ¸¦ ¸êÇÏ°Ú´Ù ÇϼÌÀ¸¹Ç·Î ³»°¡ ¿©ÀüÈ÷ »ç½Ê Á־߸¦ ¿©È£¿Í ¾Õ¿¡ ¾þµå¸®°í
9:25 So I went down on my face in prayer before the Lord for forty days and forty nights as I did at first; because the Lord had said that he would put an end to you.
9:25 Thus I fell down before the LORD forty days and forty nights, as I fell down at the first; because the LORD had said he would destroy you.

9:26 ¿©È£¿Í²² °£±¸ÇÏ¿© °¡·ÎµÇ ÁÖ ¿©È£¿Í¿© ÁÖ²²¼­ Å« À§¾öÀ¸·Î ¼ÓÇÏ½Ã°í °­ÇÑ ¼ÕÀ¸·Î ¾Ö±Á¿¡¼­ ÀεµÇÏ¿© ³»½Å ÁÖÀÇ ¹é¼º °ð ÁÖÀÇ ±â¾÷À» ¸êÇÏÁö ¸¶¿É¼Ò¼­
9:26 And I made prayer to the Lord and said, O Lord God, do not send destruction on your people and your heritage, to whom, by your great power, you have given salvation, whom you have taken out of Egypt by the strength of your hand.
9:26 I prayed therefore unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, destroy not your people and yours inheritance, which you have redeemed through your greatness, which you have brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand.

9:27 ÁÖÀÇ Á¾ ¾Æºê¶óÇÔ°ú ÀÌ»è°ú ¾ß°öÀ» »ý°¢ÇÏ»ç ÀÌ ¹é¼ºÀÇ °­ÆÚ°ú ¾Ç°ú Á˸¦ º¸Áö ¸¶¿É¼Ò¼­
9:27 Keep in mind your servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, not looking at the hard heart of this people, or their evil-doing and their sin:
9:27 Remember your servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; look not unto the stubbornness of this people, nor to their wickedness, nor to their sin:

9:28 ÁÖ²²¼­ ¿ì¸®¸¦ ÀεµÇÏ¿© ³»½Å ±× ¶¥ ¹é¼ºÀÌ ¸»Çϱ⸦ ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ±×µé¿¡°Ô Çã¶ôÇϽŠ¶¥À¸·Î ±×µéÀ» ÀεµÇÏ¿© µéÀÏ ´É·Âµµ ¾ø°í ±×µéÀ» ¹Ì¿öµµ ÇÏ»ç ±¤¾ß¿¡¼­ Á×ÀÌ·Á°í ÀεµÇÏ¿© ³»¼Ì´Ù ÇÒ±î µÎ·Á¿öÇϳªÀÌ´Ù
9:28 Or it may be said in the land from which you have taken them, Because the Lord was not able to take them into the land which he said he would give them, and because of his hate for them, he has taken them out to put them to death in the waste land.
9:28 Lest the land whence you brought us out say, Because the LORD was not able to bring them into the land which he promised them, and because he hated them, he has brought them out to slay them in the wilderness.

9:29 ±×µéÀº ÁÖÀÇ Å« ´É·Â°ú Æì½Å ÆÈ·Î ÀεµÇÏ¿© ³»½Å ÁÖÀÇ ¹é¼º °ð ÁÖÀÇ ±â¾÷À̷μÒÀÌ´Ù ÇÏ¿´¾ú³ë¶ó
9:29 But still they are your people and your heritage, whom you took out by your great power and by your stretched-out arm.
9:29 Yet they are your people and yours inheritance, which you brought out by your mighty power and by your stretched out arm.
