1:2 The Lord is a God who takes care of his honour and gives punishment for wrong; the Lord gives punishment and is angry; the Lord sends punishment on those who are against him, being angry with his haters.
1:2 God is jealous, and the LORD revenges; the LORD revenges, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserves wrath for his enemies.

1:3 The Lord is slow to get angry and great in power, and will not let the sinner go without punishment: the way of the Lord is in the wind and the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
1:3 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD has his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

1:4 He says sharp words to the sea and makes it dry, drying up all the rivers: Bashan is feeble, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon is without strength.
1:4 He rebukes the sea, and makes it dry, and dries up all the rivers: Bashan languishes, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languishes.

1:5 The mountains are shaking because of him, and the hills flowing away; the earth is falling to bits before him, the world and all who are in it.
1:5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.

1:6 Who may keep his place before his wrath? and who may undergo the heat of his passion? his wrath is let loose like fire and the rocks are broken open by him.
1:6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.

1:7 The Lord is good, a strong place in the day of trouble; and he has knowledge of those who take him for their safe cover.
1:7 The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knows them that trust in him.

1:8 But like water overflowing he will take them away; he will put an end to those who come up against him, driving his haters into the dark.
1:8 But with a surpassing flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.

1:9 What are you designing against the Lord? he will put an end to it: his haters will not come up again a second time.
1:9 What do all of you imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.

1:10 For though they are like twisted thorns, and are overcome as with drink, they will come to destruction like stems of grass fully dry.
1:10 For while they be folded together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.

1:11 One has gone out from you who is designing evil against the Lord, whose purposes are of no value.
1:11 There is one come out of you, that imagines evil against the LORD, a wicked counsellor.

1:12 This is what the Lord has said: The days of my cause against you are ended; they are cut off and past. Though I have sent trouble on you, you will no longer be troubled.
1:12 Thus says the LORD; Though they be quiet, and likewise many, yet thus shall they be cut down, when he shall pass through. Though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you no more.

1:13 And now I will let his yoke be broken off you, and your chains be parted.
1:13 For now will I break his yoke from off you, and will burst your bonds in two.

1:14 The Lord has given an order about you, that no more of your name are to be planted: from the house of your gods I will have the pictured and metal images cut off; I will make your last resting-place a place of shame; for you are completely evil.
1:14 And the LORD has given a commandment concerning you, that no more of your name be sown: out of the house of your gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image: I will make your grave; for you are vile.

1:15 See on the mountains the feet of him who comes with good news, giving word of peace! Keep your feasts, O Judah, give effect to your oaths: for the good-for-nothing man will never again go through you; he is completely cut off.
1:15 Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that brings good tidings, that publishes peace! O Judah, keep your solemn feasts, perform your vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through you; he is utterly cut off.

2:1 Æı«ÇÏ´Â ÀÚ°¡ ³Ê¸¦ Ä¡·¯ ¿Ã¶ó¿Ô³ª´Ï ³Ê´Â »ê¼ºÀ» ÁöÅ°¸ç ±æÀ» ÆļöÇÏ¸ç ³× Ç㸮¸¦ °ß°íÈ÷ ¹­°í ³× ÈûÀ» Å©°Ô ±»°Ô ÇÒÁö¾î´Ù
2:1 A crusher has come up before your face: keep a good look-out, let the way be watched, make yourself strong, let your power be greatly increased.
2:1 He that dashes in pieces has come up before your face: keep the stronghold, watch the way, make your loins strong, fortify your power mightily.

2:2 ¿©È£¿Í²²¼­ ¾ß°öÀÇ ¿µ±¤À» ȸº¹ÇÏ½ÃµÇ À̽º¶ó¿¤ÀÇ ¿µ±¤ °°°Ô ÇϽóª´Ï ÀÌ´Â ¾àÅ»ÀÚµéÀÌ ¾àÅ»ÇÏ¿´°í ¶Ç ±× Æ÷µµ³ª¹« °¡Áö¸¦ ¾øÀÌ ÇÏ¿´À½À̶ó
2:2 For the Lord will make good the vine of Jacob, as well as the vine of Israel: for the wasters have made them waste and sent destruction on the branches of their vine.
2:2 For the LORD has turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the destroyers have emptied them out, and ruined their vine branches.

2:3 ±×ÀÇ ¿ë»çµéÀÇ ¹æÆд ºÓ°í ±×ÀÇ ¹«»çµéÀÇ ¿Êµµ ºÓÀ¸¸ç ±× Ç׿À¸¦ ¹úÀÌ´Â ³¯¿¡ º´°ÅÀÇ Ã¶ÀÌ ¹ø½ÀÌ°í ³ë¼Û³ª¹« âÀÌ ¿äµ¿Çϴµµ´Ù
2:3 The body-covers of his fighting men have been made red, the men of war are clothed in bright red: the war-carriages are like flames of fire in the day when he gets ready, the horses are shaking.
2:3 The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.

2:4 ±× º´°Å´Â °Å¸®¿¡ ¹ÌÄ¡°Ô ´Þ¸®¸ç ´ë·Î¿¡¼­ À̸®Àú¸® »¡¸® °¡´Ï ±× ¸ð¾çÀÌ È¶ºÒ °°°í ºü¸£±â ¹ø°³ °°µµ´Ù
2:4 The war-carriages are rushing through the streets, pushing against one another in the wide ways, looking like burning lights, running like thunder-flames.
2:4 The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall clash with one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.

2:5 ±×°¡ ±× Á¸±ÍÇÑ ÀÚ¸¦ »ý°¢ÇØ ³»´Ï ±×µéÀÌ ¾þµå·¯Áú µíÀÌ ´Þ·Á¼­ ±ÞÈ÷ ¼º¿¡ À̸£·¯ ¸·À» °ÍÀ» ¿¹ºñÇϵµ´Ù
2:5 He takes the record of his great men: they go falling on their way; they go quickly to the wall, the cover is made ready.
2:5 He shall recount his nobles: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make haste to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared.

2:6 °­µéÀÇ ¼ö¹®ÀÌ ¿­¸®°í ¿Õ±ÃÀÌ ¼Ò¸êµÇ¸ç
2:6 The river doorways are forced open, and the king's house is flowing away.
2:6 The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.

2:7 Á¤¸í´ë·Î ¿ÕÈÄ°¡ ¹ú°Å¹þÀº ¸öÀ¸·Î ²ø·Á°¡¸ç ±× ¸ðµç ½Ã³à°¡ °¡½¿À» Ä¡¸ç ºñµÑ±â °°ÀÌ ½½ÇÇ ¿ì´Âµµ´Ù
2:7 And the queen is uncovered, she is taken away and her servant-girls are weeping like the sound of doves, hammering on their breasts.
2:7 And Huzzab shall be led away captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead her as with the voice of doves, beating upon their breasts.

2:8 ¡Û ´Ï´À¿þ´Â ¿¹·ÎºÎÅÍ ¹°ÀÌ ¸ðÀÎ ¸ø °°´õ´Ï ÀÌÁ¦ ¸ðµÎ µµ¸ÁÇÏ´Ï ¼­¶ó ¼­¶ó Çϳª µ¹¾Æº¸´Â ÀÚ°¡ ¾øµµ´Ù
2:8 But Nineveh is like a pool of water whose waters are flowing away; Keep your place, they say; but no one is turning back.
2:8 But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back.

2:9 ÀºÀ» ³ë·«Ç϶ó ±ÝÀ» ´ÁÅ»Ç϶ó ±× ÀúÃàÇÑ °ÍÀÌ ¹«ÇÑÇÏ°í ¾Æ¸§´Ù¿î ±â±¸°¡ dzºÎÇÔÀ̴϶ó
2:9 Take silver, take gold; for there is no end to the store; take for yourselves a weight of things to be desired.
2:9 Take all of you the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture.

2:10 Everything has been taken from her, all is gone, she has nothing more: the heart is turned to water, the knees are shaking, all are twisted in pain, and colour has gone from all faces.
2:10 She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melts, and the knees strike together, and much pain is in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness.

2:11 Where is the lions' hole, the place where the young lions got their food, where the lion and the she-lion were walking with their young, without cause for fear?
2:11 Where is the dwelling of the lions, and the feeding-place of the young lions, where the lion, even the old lion, walked, and the lion's offspring, and none made them afraid?

2:12 Food enough for his young and for his she-lions was pulled down by the lion; his hole was full of flesh and his resting-place stored with meat.
2:12 The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin.

2:13 See, I am against you, says the Lord of armies, and I will have your war-carriages burned in the smoke, and your young lions will be food for the sword: you will no longer get your food by force on the earth, and the voice of your she-lions will be stopped for ever.
2:13 Behold, I am against you, says the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour your young lions: and I will cut off your prey from the earth, and the voice of your messengers shall no more be heard.

3:1 È­ ÀÖÀ»ÁøÀú ÇÇ ¼ºÀÌ¿© ±× ¼Ó¿¡¼­´Â ±ËÈá°ú °­Æ÷°¡ °¡µæÇÏ¸ç ´ÁÅ»ÀÌ ¶°³ªÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇϴµµ´Ù
3:1 A curse is on the town of blood; it is full of deceit and violent acts; and there is no end to the taking of life.
3:1 Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departs not;

3:2 È×È×Çϴ äÂï ¼Ò¸®, ±²±²ÇÏ´Â º´°Å ¹ÙÄû ¼Ò¸®, ¶Ù´Â ¸», ´Þ¸®´Â º´°Å,
3:2 The noise of the whip, and the noise of thundering wheels; horses rushing and war-carriages jumping,
3:2 The noise of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of the wheels, and of the prancing horses, and of the jumping chariots.

3:3 Ãæµ¹ÇÏ´Â ±âº´, ¹ø½ÀÌ´Â Ä®, ¹ø°³ °°Àº â, »ì·ú ´çÇÑ ¶¼, Å« ¹«´õ±â ÁÖ°Ë, ¹«¼öÇÑ ½Ãü¿© »ç¶÷ÀÌ ±× ½Ãü¿¡ °É·Á ³Ñ¾îÁö´Ï
3:3 Horsemen driving forward, and the shining sword and the bright spear: and a great number of wounded, and masses of dead bodies; they are falling over the bodies of the dead:
3:3 The horseman lifts up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcasses; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:

3:4 Because of all the false ways of the loose woman, expert in attraction and wise in secret arts, who takes nations in the net of her false ways, and families through her secret arts.
3:4 Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the well-favoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that sells nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.

3:5 ¸¸±ºÀÇ ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸»¾¸¿¡ ³»°¡ ³× ´ëÀûÀÌ µÇ¾î¼­ ³× Ä¡¸¶¸¦ °È¾î ÃÄ ³× ¾ó±¼¿¡ À̸£°Ô ÇÏ°í ³× ¹ú°Å¹þÀº °ÍÀ» ¿­±¹¿¡ º¸ÀÌ¸ç ³× ºÎ²ô·¯¿î °÷À» ¿­¹æ¿¡ º¸ÀÏ °ÍÀÌ¿ä
3:5 See, I am against you, says the Lord of armies, and I will have your skirts pulled over your face, and let the nations see you unclothed, and the kingdoms your shame.
3:5 Behold, I am against you, says the LORD of hosts; and I will discover your skirts upon your face, and I will show the nations your nakedness, and the kingdoms your shame.

3:6 I will make you completely disgusting and full of shame, and will put you up to be looked at by all.
3:6 And I will cast abominable filth upon you, and make you vile, and will set you as a gazing-stock.

3:7 And it will come about that all who see you will go in flight from you and say, Nineveh is made waste: who will be weeping for her? where am I to get comforters for her?
3:7 And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon you shall flee from you, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will lament for her? whence shall I seek comforters for you?
