21:1 The word about the waste land. As storm-winds in the South go rushing through, it
comes from the waste land, from the land greatly to be feared.
21:1 The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds in the south pass
through; so it comes from the desert, from a terrible land.
21:2 Ȥ ð ֲ ̴ ڴ ̰ Żϴ
ڴ Żϵ ̿ ö 뿩 ζ ź ġ
Ͽ Ͻõ
21:2 A vision of fear comes before my eyes; the worker of deceit goes on in his false
way, and the waster goes on making waste. Up! Elam; to the attack! Media; I have
put an end to her sorrow.
21:2 A grievous vision is declared unto me; the treacherous dealer deals
treacherously, and the spoiler spoils. Go up, O Elam: besiege, O Media; all
the sighing thereof have I made to cease.
21:3 ̷Ƿ Ͽ ӻ ϿǷ
Ͽ ϸ ϵ
21:3 For this cause I am full of bitter grief; pains like the pains of a woman in childbirth
have come on me: I am bent down with sorrow at what comes to my ears; I am shocked
by what I see.
21:3 Therefore are my loins filled with pain: pangs have taken hold upon
me, as the pangs of a woman that labors: I was bowed down at the hearing of
it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it.
21:4 ϸ η Ͽ

21:4 My mind is wandering, fear has overcome me: the evening of my desire has been turned
into shaking for me.
21:4 My heart panted, fearfulness affrighted me: the night of my pleasure
has he turned into fear unto me.
21:5 Ź Ǯ ļ õ Ͼ

21:5 They make ready the table, they put down the covers, they take food and drink. Up!
you captains; put oil on your breastplates.
21:5 Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink: arise, all of
you princes, and anoint the shield.
21:6 ֲ ̸õ ļ ϰ ϵ
21:6 For so has the Lord said to me, Go, let a watchman be placed; let him give word
of what he sees:
21:6 For thus has the LORD said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare
what he sees.
21:7 밡 ֽ Ͱ ŵ ڼ,

21:7 And when he sees war-carriages, horsemen by twos, war-carriages with asses, war-carriages
with camels, let him give special attention.
21:7 And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses,
and a chariot of camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed:
21:8 ļ θ¢⸦ ֿ 뿡

21:8 And the watchman gave a loud cry, O my lord, I am on the watchtower all day, and
am placed in my watch every night:
21:8 And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower
in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights:
21:9 밡 ֽ ̴ װ Ͽ ԶǾ ԶǾ
ٺ̿ ŵ ν Ͻõ
21:9 See, here come war-carriages with men, horsemen by twos: and in answer he said,
Babylon is made low, is made low, and all her images are broken on the earth.
21:9 And, behold, here comes a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen.
And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images
of her gods he has broken unto the ground.
21:10 Ÿ ̿ ̿ ̽ ϳ
ȣͲ Ͽ
21:10 O my crushed ones, the grain of my floor! I have given you the word which came to
me from the Lord of armies, the God of Israel.
21:10 O my threshing, and the corn of my floor: that which I have heard of
the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you.
21:11 θ Ͽ θ ļ̿

21:11 The word about Edom. A voice comes to me from Seir, Watchman, how far gone is the
night? how far gone is the night?
21:11 The burden of Dumah. He calls to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of
the night? Watchman, what of the night?
21:12 ļ ε ħ 㵵 װ ŵ

21:12 The watchman says, The morning has come, but night is still to come: if you have
questions to put, put them, and come back again.
21:12 The watchman said, The morning comes, and also the night: if all of
you will enquire, enquire all of you: return, come.
21:13 ƶƿ ̿ ƶ Ǯ

21:13 The word about Arabia. In the thick woods of Arabia will be your night's resting-place,
O travelling bands of Dedanites!
21:13 The burden upon Arabia. In the forest in Arabia shall all of you lodge,
O all of you travelling companies of Dedanim.
21:14 Źε ٰ ڿ ְ ϴ
ڸ ϶
21:14 Give water to him who is in need of water; give bread, O men of the land of Tema,
to those in flight.
21:14 The inhabitants of the land of Tema brought water to him that was thirsty,
they prevented with their bread him that fled.
21:15 Į ϸ Į Ȱ Ͽ̴϶
21:15 For they are in flight from the sharp sword, and the bent bow, and from the trouble
of war.
21:15 For they fled from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent
bow, and from the grievousness of war.
21:16 ֲ ̰ ̸õ ǰ Դ
ϸ
21:16 For so has the Lord said to me, In a year, by the years of a servant working for
payment, all the glory of Kedar will come to an end:
21:16 For thus has the LORD said unto me, Within a year, according to the
years of a worker, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail:
21:17 Դ ڼ Ȱ Ͻô϶ ̽
ϳ ȣ ̴϶
21:17 And the rest of the bowmen, the men of war of the children of Kedar, will be small
in number: for the Lord, the God of Israel, has said it.
21:17 And the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children
of Kedar, shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel has spoken it.
22:1 ̻ ¥ װ ؿ ö ΰ
22:1 The word about the valley of vision. Why have all your people gone up to the house-tops?
22:1 The burden of the valley of vision. What disturbs you now, that you
are wholly gone up to the housetops?
22:2 ȭϸ , ſϴ ̿ ڰ Į
͵ ƴϿ £ ͵ ƴϸ
22:2 You, who are full of loud voices, a town of outcries, given up to joy; your dead
men have not been put to the sword, or come to their death in war.
22:2 You that are full of stirs, a tumultuous city, joyous city: your slain
men are not slain with the sword, nor dead in battle.
22:3 Բ Ͽٰ Ȱ Ͽ
ָ ڵ ߰ߵǾ Բ Ͽ
22:3 All your rulers ... have gone in flight; all your strong ones have gone far away.
22:3 All your rulers are fled together, they are bound by the archers: all
that are found in you are bound together, which have fled from far.
22:4 ̷Ƿ ϳ ϰڳ
鼺 иϿ Ͽ Ϸ ϶
22:4 For this cause I have said, Let your eyes be turned away from me in my bitter weeping;
I will not be comforted for the wasting of the daughter of my people.
22:4 Therefore said I, Look away from me; I will weep bitterly, labour not
to comfort me, because of the spoiling of the daughter of my people.
22:5 ̻ ¥ ȣͲμ ̸ п ȥ
̿ ʶ߸ ǿ 繫ġ θ¢ Ҹδ
22:5 For it is a day of trouble and of crushing down and of destruction from the Lord,
the Lord of armies, in the valley of vision; ...
22:5 For it is a day of trouble, and of treading down, and of perplexity
by the Lord GOD of hosts in the valley of vision, breaking down the walls, and
of crying to the mountains.
22:6 ź ڿ Բ Ͽ ⸣

22:6 And Elam was armed with arrows, and Aram came on horseback; and the breastplate
of Kir was uncovered.
22:6 And Elam bare the quiver with chariots of men and horsemen, and Kir
uncovered the shield.
22:7 Ŵ Ƹٿ ¥ Ͽ ĵǾ
22:7 And your most fertile valleys were full of war-carriages, and the horsemen took
up their positions in front of the town.
22:7 And it shall come to pass, that your best valleys shall be full of chariots,
and the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.
22:8 װ ٿ װ Ǯ ⸦ ٶҰ
22:8 He took away the cover of Judah; and in that day you were looking with care at the
store of arms in the house of the woods.
22:8 And he discovered the covering of Judah, and you did look in that day
to the armour of the house of the forest.
22:9 ͵ Ʒ
22:9 And you saw all the broken places in the wall of the town of David: and you got
together the waters of the lower pool.
22:9 All of you have seen also the breaches of the city of David, that they
are many: and all of you gathered together the waters of the lower pool.
22:10 췽 ϸ ߰ɵ ϸ
22:10 And you had the houses of Jerusalem numbered, pulling down the houses to make the
wall stronger.
22:10 And all of you have numbered the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses
have all of you broken down to fortify the wall.
22:11 Ͽ ̿ ϶
Ͻ ڸ Ӹ ƴϿ 濵Ͻ
ڸ ƴϿ϶
22:11 And you made a place between the two walls for storing the waters of the old pool:
but you gave no thought to him who had done this, and were not looking to him by
whom it had been purposed long before.
22:11 All of you made also a ditch between the two walls for the water of
the old pool: but all of you have not looked unto the maker thereof, neither
had respect unto him that fashioned it long ago.
22:12 ȣͲ ϻ ϸ ȣϸ Ӹ
ϼ̰Ŵ
22:12 And in that day the Lord, the Lord of armies, was looking for weeping, and cries
of sorrow, cutting off of the hair, and putting on the clothing of grief:
22:12 And in that day did the Lord GOD of hosts call to weeping, and to mourning,
and to baldness, and to girding with sackcloth:
22:13 ϸ ſϿ Ҹ ⸦ ָ
ø鼭 ϵ
22:13 But in place of these there was joy and delight, oxen and sheep were being made
ready for food, there was feasting and drinking: men said, Now is the time for food
and wine, for tomorrow death comes.
22:13 And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating
flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; in order to morrow we shall
die.
22:14 ȣͲ ģ Ϳ Ƿ ˾
ױ ϸ ϼ̴϶ ȣ ̴϶
22:14 And the Lord of armies said to me secretly, Truly, this sin will not be taken from
you till your death, says the Lord, the Lord of armies.
22:14 And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, Surely this
iniquity shall not be purged from you till all of you die, says the Lord GOD
of hosts.
22:15 ȣͲ ʴ ð
̸⸦
22:15 The Lord, the Lord of armies, says, Go to this person in authority, this Shebna,
who is over the house; who has made himself a resting-place on high, cutting out
a place for himself in the rock, and say,
22:15 Thus says the Lord GOD of hosts, Go, get you unto this treasurer, even
unto Shebna, which is over the house, and say,
22:16 װ 谡 ִ ֱ ⼭ ʸ Ͽ
ʹ ڱ⸦ Ͽ Ͱ ݼ ڱ⸦ Ͽ óҸ ɾƳ
22:16 Who are you, and by what right have you made for yourself a resting-place here?
22:16 What have you here? and whom have you here, that you have hewed you
out a tomb here, as he that hews him out a tomb on high, and that graves an
habitation for himself in a rock?
22:17 ȣͰ ʸ ܴ ӹϰ ͷ
22:17 See, O strong man, the Lord will send you violently away, gripping you with force,
22:17 Behold, the LORD will carry you away with a mighty captivity, and will
surely cover you.
22:18 ʸ μ 濡 ̶
ġ ġ ʿ װ װڰ ű
22:18 Twisting you round and round like a ball he will send you out into a wide country:
there you will come to your end, and there will be the carriages of your pride,
O shame of your lord's house!
22:18 He will surely violently turn and toss you like a ball into a large
country: there shall you die, and there the chariots of your glory shall be
the shame of your lord's house.
22:19 ʸ ѾƳ ߰
22:19 And I will have you forced out of your place of authority, and pulled down from
your position.
22:19 And I will drive you from your station, and from your state shall he
pull you down.
22:20 Ƶ Ʊ ҷ
22:20 And in that day I will send for my servant, Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah:
22:20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant
Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:
22:21 츦 ְ ϰ
տ ñ⸮ װ 췽 Źΰ ƺ ̸
22:21 And I will put your robe on him, and put your band about him, and I will give your
authority into his hand: and he will be a father to the men of Jerusalem, and to
the family of Judah.
22:21 And I will clothe him with your robe, and strengthen him with your
girdle, and I will commit your government into his hand: and he shall be a father
to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.
22:22 踦 θ װ ڰ ڰ

22:22 And I will give the key of the family of David into his care; and what he keeps
open will be shut by no one, and what he keeps shut no one will make open.
22:22 And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so
he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
22:23 ܴ ߰ ϸ װ ƺ

22:23 And I will put him like a nail in a safe place; and he will be for a seat of glory
to his father's family.
22:23 And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for
a glorious throne to his father's house.
22:24 ƺ ɸ ļհ Ǵ
κ Ƹ
22:24 And all the glory of his father's family will be hanging on him, all their offspring,
every small vessel, even the cups and the basins.
22:24 And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the
offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of
cups, even to all the vessels of flagons.
22:25 ȣͲ ܴ
η Ƿ ɸ ļǸ ϼ̴ ϶ ȣ

22:25 In that day, says the Lord of armies, will the nail fixed in a safe place give way;
and it will be cut down, and in its fall the weight hanging on it will be cut off,
for the Lord has said it.
22:25 In that day, says the LORD of hosts, shall the nail that is fastened
in the sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that
was upon it shall be cut off: for the LORD has spoken it.
23:1 ηο ٽý ô θ¢ ηΰ
ȲϿ ̿ ҽ 鿡
ĵǾ̴϶
23:1 The word about Tyre. Let a cry of sorrow go up, O ships of Tarshish, because your
strong place is made waste; on the way back from the land of Kittim the news is
given to them.
23:1 The burden of Tyre. Wail, all of you ships of Tarshish; for it is laid
waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Chittim it
is revealed to them.
23:2 ٴٿ շϴ õ ̾Ͼ οϰ غ Źε

23:2 Send out a cry of grief, you men of the sea-land, traders of Zidon, who go over
the sea, whose representatives are on great waters;
23:2 Be still, all of you inhabitants of the isle; you whom the merchants
of Zidon, that pass over the sea, have replenished.
23:3 Ȧ ū Ͽ 鿴 ̾
23:3 Who get in the seed of Shihor, whose wealth is the trade of the nations.
23:3 And by great waters the seed of Sihor, the harvest of the river, is
her revenue; and she is a merchant of nations.
23:4 õ̿ ʴ β ٴ ٴ ϱ⸦
Ͽ Ͽ û ڵ Ͽ ó

23:4 Be shamed, O Zidon: for the sea, the strong place of the sea has said, I have not
been with child, or given birth; I have not taken care of young men, or kept watch
over the growth of virgins.
23:4 Be you ashamed, O Zidon: for the sea has spoken, even the strength of
the sea, saying, I travail not, nor bring forth children, neither do I nourish
up young men, nor bring up virgins.
23:5 ҽ ֱ ̸ η ҽ Ͽ 뵵ϸδ
23:5 When the news comes to Egypt they will be bitterly pained at the fate of Tyre.
23:5 As at the report concerning Egypt, so shall they be sorely pained at
the report of Tyre.
23:6 ٽý dzʰ غ Źξ θ¢
23:6 Go over to Tarshish; give cries of sorrow, O men of the sea-land.
23:6 Pass all of you over to Tarshish; wail, all of you inhabitants of the
isle.
23:7 ̰ 뿡 Ǽ 鼺 ڱ ߷
ϴ ̳
23:7 Is this the town which was full of joy, whose start goes back to times long past,
whose wanderings took her into far-off countries?
23:7 Is this your joyous city, whose antiquity is of ancient days? her own
feet shall carry her far off to sojourn.
23:8 ڿ ̿ ڵ
̴ ηο Ͽ Ͽ
23:8 By whom was this purposed against Tyre, the crowning town, whose traders are chiefs,
whose business men are honoured in the land?
23:8 Who has taken this counsel against Tyre, the crowning city, whose merchants
are princes, whose traffickers are the honourable of the earth?
23:9 ȣ Ͻ ̶ ǰ Ͻø
ڷ ø ް Ϸ Ͻ̴϶
23:9 It was the purpose of the Lord of armies to put pride to shame, to make sport of
the glory of those who are honoured in the earth.
23:9 The LORD of hosts has purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory,
and to bring into contempt all the honourable of the earth.
23:10 ٽý ĥ ʸ ӹ ٽô
23:10 Let your land be worked with the plough, O daughter of Tarshish; there is no longer
any harbour.
23:10 Pass through your land as a river, O daughter of Tarshish: there is
no more strength.
23:11 ȣͲ ٴ ø ȣͲ ȿ
Ͽ ߰ ϰ Ͻð
23:11 His hand is stretched out over the sea, the kingdoms are shaking: the Lord has given
orders about Canaan, to make waste its strong places.
23:11 He stretched out his hand over the sea, he shook the kingdoms: the
LORD has given a commandment against the merchant city, to destroy the strong
holds thereof.
23:12 д ó õ װ ٽô Ͼ
dzʰ ű⼭ װ ϸ ϼ̴϶
23:12 And he said, There is no more joy for you, O crushed virgin daughter of Zidon: up!
go over to Kittim; even there you will have no rest.
23:12 And he said, You shall no more rejoice, O you oppressed virgin, daughter
of Zidon: arise, pass over to Chittim; there also shall you have no rest.
23:13 鼺 Ѽ
ϴ ǰ Ͽ 븦 Ȳ Ͽ϶
23:13 ...
23:13 Behold the land of the Chaldeans; this people was not, till the Assyrian
founded it for them that dwell in the wilderness: they set up the towers thereof,
they raised up the palaces thereof; and he brought it to ruin.
23:14 ٽý ô θ¢ ߰ ıǾ϶
23:14 Let a cry of sorrow go up, O ships of Tarshish: because your strong place is made
waste.
23:14 Wail, all of you ships of Tarshish: for your strength is laid waste.
23:15 ηΰ ĥ ؾ Ǿٰ ĥ
Ŀ ηδ 뷡 ̶
23:15 And it will be in that day that Tyre will go out of mind for seventy years, that
is, the days of one king: after the end of seventy years it will be for Tyre as
in the song of the loose woman.
23:15 And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten
seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years
shall Tyre sing as an harlot.
23:16 ؾ Ǿ ʿ η ϸ
뷡 ҷ ʸ ٽ ϶ Ͽ϶
23:16 Take an instrument of music, go about the town, O loose woman who has gone out from
the memory of man; make sweet melody with songs, so that you may come back to men's
minds.
23:16 Take an harp, go about the city, you harlot that have been forgotten;
make sweet melody, sing many songs, that you may be remembered.
23:17 ĥ Ŀ ȣͲ ηθ ǰϽø װ ٽ 븮Ͽ
鿡 ִ ̸
23:17 And it will be after the end of seventy years, that the Lord will have mercy on
Tyre, and she will go back to her trade, acting as a loose woman with all the kingdoms
of the world on the face of the earth.
23:17 And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the
LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication
with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.
23:18 Ͱ ŷ ȣͲ ϰų ƴϸ
ȣ տ ϴ Ҹ ڷ, ڷᰡ Ǹ
23:18 And her goods and her trade will be holy to the Lord: they will not be kept back
or stored up; for her produce will be for those living in the Lord's land, to give
them food for their needs, and fair clothing.
23:18 And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to the LORD: it
shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that
dwell before the LORD, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.
24:1 ȣͲ ϰ Ͻø Ȳϰ Ͻø ð Ź

24:1 See, the Lord is making the earth waste and unpeopled, he is turning it upside down,
and sending the people in all directions.
24:1 Behold, the LORD makes the earth empty, and makes it waste, and turns
it upside down, and scatters abroad the inhabitants thereof.
24:2 鼺 Ϲ ̸ Ϲ ̸ ڿ
Ϲ ̸ ڿ Ĵ ڰ Ϲ ̸ äϴ ڿ äϴ ڰ
Ϲ ̸ ڸ ڿ ڸ ڰ Ϲ ̶
24:2 And it will be the same for the people as for the priest; for the servant as for
his master; and for the woman-servant as for her owner; the same for the one offering
goods for a price as for him who takes them; the same for him who gives money at
interest and for him who takes it; the same for him who lets others have the use
of his property as for those who make use of it.
24:2 And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the
servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with
the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as
with the taker of interest, so with the giver of interest to him.
24:3 ϰ ǰ Ȳϰ Ǹ ȣͲ

24:3 The earth will be completely waste and without men; for this is the word of the
Lord.
24:3 The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD
has spoken this word.
24:4 ϰ ϸ 谡 ϰ ϸ 鼺 ߿
ڰ ϸ
24:4 The earth is sorrowing and wasting away, the world is full of grief and wasting
away, the high ones of the earth come to nothing.
24:4 The earth mourns and fades away, the world languishes and fades away,
the haughty people of the earth do languish.
24:5 Ź Ʒ Ǿ ̴ ϸ ʸ
Ͽ̶
24:5 The earth has been made unclean by those living in it; because the laws have not
been kept by them, the orders have been changed, and the eternal agreement has been
broken.
24:5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they
have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
24:6 Ƿ ְ װ ߿ ϴ ڵ Ͽ
Ź Ÿ ڰ
24:6 For this cause the earth is given up to the curse, and those in it are judged as
sinners: for this cause those living on the earth are burned up, and the rest are
small in number.
24:6 Therefore has the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein
are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men
left.
24:7 ϰ ϸ ̴ ڰ źϸ
24:7 The new wine is thin, the vine is feeble, and all the glad-hearted make sounds of
grief.
24:7 The new wine mourns, the vine languishes, all the merry hearted do sigh.
24:8 Ұ ġ ġ ſϴ Ҹ ġ Ÿ
24:8 The pleasing sound of all instruments of music has come to an end, and the voices
of those who are glad.
24:8 The delight of timbrels ceases, the noise of them that rejoice ends,
the joy of the harp ceases.
24:9 뷡ϸ ָ ϰ ִ ô ڿ ̸
24:9 There is no more drinking of wine with a song; strong drink will be bitter to those
who take it.
24:9 They shall not drink wine with a song; strong drink shall be bitter
to them that drink it.
24:10 Ż ĵǰ ڰ
24:10 The town is waste and broken down: every house is shut up, so that no man may come
in.
24:10 The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up, that
no man may come in.
24:11 ְ Ƿ Ÿ θ¢ ſ Ͽ

24:11 There is a crying in the streets because of the wine; there is an end of all delight,
the joy of the land is gone.
24:11 There is a crying for wine in the streets; all joy is darkened, the
delight of the land is gone.
24:12 Ȳϰ ıǾ϶
24:12 In the town all is waste, and in the public place is destruction.
24:12 In the city is left desolation, and the gate is smitten with destruction.
24:13 ߿ ̷
ŵ Ŀ ֿ ̴϶
24:13 For it will be in the heart of the earth among the peoples, like the shaking of
an olive-tree, as the last of the grapes after the getting-in is done.
24:13 When thus it shall be in the midst of the land among the people, there
shall be as the shaking of an olive tree, and as the gleaning grapes when the
vintage is done.
24:14 Ҹ θ ̸ ȣ Ͽ ٴٿ

24:14 But those will be making sounds of joy; they will be crying loudly from the sea
for the glory of the Lord.

24:15 Give praise to the Lord in the east, to the name of the Lord, the God of Israel,
in the sea-lands.
24:15 Wherefore glorify all of you the LORD in the fires, even the name of
the LORD God of Israel in the isles of the sea.

24:16 From the farthest part of the earth comes the sound of songs, glory to the upright.
But I said, I am wasting away, wasting away, the curse is on me! The false ones
go on in their false way, yes, they go on acting falsely.
24:16 From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, even glory
to the righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me! the treacherous
dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very
treacherously.
24:17 Źξ η ù װ Ͽ
24:17 Fear, and death, and the net, are come on you, O people of the earth.
24:17 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon you, O inhabitant of the
earth.

24:18 And it will be that he who goes in flight from the sound of fear will be overtaken
by death; and he who gets free from death will be taken in the net: for the windows
on high are open, and the bases of the earth are shaking.
24:18 And it shall come to pass, that he who flees from the noise of the
fear shall fall into the pit; and he that comes up out of the midst of the pit
shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the
foundations of the earth do shake.
24:19 鸮 鸮
24:19 The earth is completely broken, it is parted in two, it is violently moved.
24:19 The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the
earth is moved exceedingly.
24:20 ƲƲϸ ħ 鸮 ˾ ϹǷ

24:20 The earth will be moving uncertainly, like a man overcome by drink; it will be shaking
like a tent; and the weight of its sin will be on it, crushing it down so that it
will not get up again.
24:20 The earth shall reel back and forth like a drunkard, and shall be removed
like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it
shall fall, and not rise again.
24:21 ȣͲ 븦 Ͻø յ

24:21 And in that day the Lord will send punishment on the army of the high ones on high,
and on the kings of the earth on the earth.
24:21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the
host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the
earth.

24:22 And they will be got together, like prisoners in the prison-house; and after a long
time they will have their punishment.
24:22 And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the
pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.

24:23 Then the moon will be veiled, and the sun put to shame; for the Lord of armies will
be ruling in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before his judges he will let his
glory be seen.
24:23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD
of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients
gloriously.
25:1 ȣͿ ִ ϳ̽ö ָ ̰ ̸ Ͽ
ִ 縦 Ͻ ϼ̶
25:1 O Lord, you are my God; I will give praise to you, I will give honour to your name;
for you have done great acts of power; your purposes in the past have been made
true and certain in effect.
25:1 O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you, I will praise your name; for
you have done wonderful things; your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

25:2 For you have made a town a waste place: a strong town a mass of broken walls; the
tower of the men of pride has come to an end; it will never be put up again.
25:2 For you have made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace
of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built.
25:3 ָ ȭӰ ϸ ָ ϸ̴
25:3 For this cause will the strong people give glory to you, the town of the cruel ones
will be in fear of you.
25:3 Therefore shall the strong people glorify you, the city of the terrible
nations shall fear you.

ȯ ̽ø dz ߿ dzóø ϴ ״ Ǽ̻
25:4 For you have been a strong place for the poor and the crushed in their trouble,
a safe place from the storm, a shade from the heat, when the wrath of the cruel
ones is like a winter storm.
25:4 For you have been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in
his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast
of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
25:5 ֲ ȭ ġ Ͻø
뷡 ߽ø̴
25:5 As heat by the shade of a cloud, the noise of the men of pride has been made quiet
by you; as heat by the shade of a cloud, the song of the cruel ones has been stopped.
25:5 You shall bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place;
even the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall
be brought low.
25:6 ȣͲ 꿡 Ͽ ⸧ Ͱ Ͽ

25:6 And in this mountain will the Lord of armies make for all peoples a feast of good
things, a feast of wines long stored, of good things sweet to the taste, of wines
long kept and tested.
25:6 And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a
feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the sediments of wine, of fat things
full of marrow, of wines on the sediments of wine well refined.
25:7 꿡 ڰ Ͻø
25:7 And in this mountain he will put an end to the shade covering the face of all peoples,
and the veil which is stretched over all nations.
25:7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over
all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.

鼺 ġ õϿ Ͻø ȣͲ ̰ ϼ̴϶
25:8 He has put an end to death for ever; and the Lord God will take away all weeping;
and he will put an end to the shame of his people in all the earth: for the Lord
has said it.
25:8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away
tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from
off all the earth: for the LORD has spoken it.

25:9 And in that day it will be said, See, this is our God; we have been waiting for
him, and he will be our saviour: this is the Lord in whom is our hope; we will be
glad and have delight in his salvation.
25:9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited
for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will
be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

25:10 For in this mountain will the hand of the Lord come to rest, and Moab will be crushed
down in his place, even as the dry stems of the grain are crushed under foot in
the waste place.
25:10 For in this mountain shall the hand of the LORD rest, and Moab shall
be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill.

25:11 And if he puts out his hands, like a man stretching out his hands in swimming, the
Lord will make low his pride, however expert his designs.
25:11 And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that
swins spreads forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down their pride together
with the spoils of their hands.

25:12 And the strong tower of your walls has been broken by him, made low, and crushed
even to the dust.
25:12 And the fortress of the high fort of your walls shall he bring down,
lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust.

26:1 In that day will this song be made in the land of Judah: We have a strong town;
he will make salvation our walls and towers.
26:1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a
strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.

26:2 Let the doors be open, so that the upright nation which keeps faith may come in.
26:2 Open all of you the gates, that the righteous nation which keeps the
truth may enter in.

26:3 The man whose heart is unmoved you will keep in peace, because his hope is in you.
26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you: because
he trusts in you.

26:4 Let your hope be in the Lord for ever: for the Lord Jah is an unchanging Rock.
26:4 Trust all of you in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting
strength:

26:5 For he has made low those who are lifted up, all the people of the town of pride:
he makes it low, crushing it down to the earth; he makes it low in the dust.
26:5 For he brings down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he lays
it low; he lays it low, even to the ground; he brings it even to the dust.
26:6 װ ߰ ̸δ
26:6 It will be crushed under the feet of the poor and the steps of those who are in
need.
26:6 The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps
of the needy.

26:7 The way of the good man is straight; the road of the upright is made smooth by you.
26:7 The way of the just is uprightness: you, most upright, do weigh the
path of the just.

26:8 We have been waiting for you, O Lord; the desire of our soul is for the memory of
your name.
26:8 Yea, in the way of your judgments, O LORD, have we waited for you; the
desire of our soul is to your name, and to the remembrance of you.

26:9 In the night the desire of my soul has been for you; early will my spirit be searching
for you; for when your punishments come on the earth, the people of the world will
get the knowledge of righteousness.
26:9 With my soul have I desired you in the night; yea, with my spirit within
me will I seek you early: for when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants
of the world will learn righteousness.

26:10 Even if you are kind to the evil-doer, he will not go after righteousness; even
in the land of the upright he will still go on in his wrongdoing, and will not see
the glory of the Lord.
26:10 Let favour be showed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness:
in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty
of the LORD.

26:11 Lord, your hand is lifted up, but they do not see: let them see ... yes, your haters
will be burned up in the fire.
26:11 LORD, when your hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall
see, and be ashamed for their envy at the people; yea, the fire of yours enemies
shall devour them.

26:12 Lord, you will give us peace: for all our works are the outcome of your purpose.
26:12 LORD, you will ordain peace for us: for you also have wrought all our
works in us.

26:13 O Lord, our God, other lords than you have had rule over us; but in you only is

26:14 The dead will not come back to life: their spirits will not come back to earth;
for this cause you have sent destruction on them, so that the memory of them is

rise: therefore have you visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory
to perish.

26:15 You have made the nation great, O Lord, you have made it great; glory is yours:
you have made wide the limits of the land.
26:15 You have increased the nation, O LORD, you have increased the nation:
you are glorified: you had removed it far unto all the ends of the earth.

26:16 Lord, in trouble our eyes have been turned to you, we sent up a prayer when your
punishment was on us.

your chastening was upon them.

26:17 As a woman with child, whose time is near, is troubled, crying out in her pain;
so have we been before you, O Lord.
26:17 Like a woman with child, that draws near the time of her delivery,
is in pain, and cries out in her pangs; so have we been in your sight, O LORD.

26:18 We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have given birth to wind; no salvation
has come to the earth through us, and no children have come into the world.
26:18 We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have as it were brought
forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the
inhabitants of the world fallen.

26:19 Your dead will come back; their dead bodies will come to life again. Those in the
dust, awaking from their sleep, will send out a song; for your dew is a dew of light,
and the earth will give birth to the shades.
26:19 Your dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise.
Awake and sing, all of you that dwell in dust: for your dew is as the dew of
herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

26:20 Come, my people, into your secret places, and let your doors be shut: keep yourself
safe for a short time, till his wrath is over.
26:20 Come, my people, enter you into your chambers, and shut your doors
about you: hide yourself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation

26:21 For the Lord is coming out of his place to send punishment on the people of the
earth for their evil-doing: the earth will let the blood drained out on her be seen,
and will keep her dead covered no longer.
26:21 For, behold, the LORD comes out of his place to punish the inhabitants
of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and
shall no more cover her slain.

27:1 In that day the Lord, with his great and strong and cruel sword, will send punishment
on Leviathan, the quick-moving snake, and on Leviathan, the twisted snake; and he
will put to death the dragon which is in the sea.
27:1 In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall
punish leviathan (p. sea serpent) the piercing serpent, even leviathan (p. sea
serpent) that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.

27:2 In that day it will be said, A vine-garden of delight, make a song about it.
27:2 In that day sing all of you unto her, A vineyard of red wine.

27:3 I, the Lord, am watching it; I will give it water at all times: I will keep it night
and day, for fear that any damage comes to it.
27:3 I the LORD do keep it; I will water it every moment: lest any hurt it,
I will keep it night and day.

27:4 My passion is over: if the thorns were fighting against me, I would make an attack
on them, and they would be burned up together.
27:4 Fury is not in me: who would set the briers and thorns against me in
battle? I would go through them, I would burn them together.

27:5 Or let him put himself under my power, and make peace with me.
27:5 Or let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me;
and he shall make peace with me.

27:6 In days to come Jacob will take root: Israel will put out buds and flowers; and
the face of the world will be full of fruit.
27:6 He shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall blossom
and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.

27:7 Is his punishment like the punishment of those who overcame him? or are his dead
as great in number as those he put to the sword?
27:7 Has he smitten him, as he stroke those that stroke him? or is he slain
according to the slaughter of them that are slain by him?
27:8 ֲ 鼺 ϰ åϻ ѾƳ dz δ dz

27:8 Your anger against her has been made clear by driving her away; he has taken her
away with his storm-wind in the day of his east wind.
27:8 In measure, when it shoots forth, you will debate with it: he stays
his rough wind in the day of the east wind.
27:9 ߰ ǰ ˸ ̷ ϳ
װ ν Ƚ ϸ Ƽ ¾ ٽ

27:9 So by this will the sin of Jacob be covered, and this is all the fruit of taking
away his punishment; when all the stones of the altar are crushed together, so that
the wood pillars and the sun-images will not be put up again.
27:9 By this therefore shall the iniquity of Jacob be purged; and this is
all the fruit to take away his sin; when he makes all the stones of the altar
as chalkstones that are beaten in two, the groves and images shall not stand
up.
27:10 ߰ ϰ ó Ȳϸ Ǿ ߿

27:10 For the strong town is without men, an unpeopled living-place; and she has become
a waste land: there the young ox will take his rest, and its branches will be food
for him.
27:10 Yet the defenced city shall be desolate, and the habitation forsaken,
and left like a wilderness: there shall the calf feed, and there shall he lie
down, and consume the branches thereof.

27:11 When its branches are dry they will be broken off; the women will come and put fire
to them: for it is a foolish people; for this cause he who made them will have no
mercy on them, and he whose work they are will not have pity on them.
27:11 When the boughs thereof are withered, they shall be broken off: the
women come, and set them on fire: for it is a people of no understanding: therefore
he that made them will not have mercy on them, and he that formed them will
show them no favour.
27:12 ̽ ڼյ ȣͲ âϴ ϼ

27:12 And it will be in that day that the Lord will get together his grain, from the River
to the stream of Egypt, and you will be got together with care, O children of Israel.
27:12 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall beat off
from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt, and all of you shall
be gathered one by one, O all of you children of Israel.

27:13 And it will be in that day that a great horn will be sounded; and those who were
wandering in the land of Assyria, and those who had been sent away into the land
of Egypt, will come; and they will give worship to the Lord in the holy mountain
at Jerusalem.
27:13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall
be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria,
and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy
mount at Jerusalem.

28:1 Ho! crown of pride of those who are given up to wine in Ephraim, and the dead flower
of his glory which is on the head of those who are overcome by strong drink!
28:1 Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious
beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them
that are overcome with wine!
28:2 ֲ ִ ϰ ִ ڰ , ıϴ dz , ū â
28:2 See, the Lord has a strong and cruel one; like a rain of ice, a storm of destruction,
like the overflowing of a strong river, he will violently overcome them.
28:2 Behold, the Lord has a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of
hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall
cast down to the earth with the hand.
28:3 ߿ ̶
28:3 The crown of pride of those who are given up to wine in Ephraim will be crushed
under foot;
28:3 The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under
feet:
28:4 ⸧ ¥ ִ ȭ

28:4 And the dead flower of his glory, which is on the head of the fertile valley, will
be like the first early fruit before the summer; which a man takes and puts in his
mouth the minute he sees it.
28:4 And the glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall
be a fading flower, and as the hasty fruit before the summer; which when he
that looks upon it sees, while it is yet in his hand he eats it up.
28:5 ȣͲ 鼺 ȭο ǽø

28:5 In that day will the Lord of armies be a crown of glory, and a fair ornament, to
the rest of his people;
28:5 In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for
a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people,
28:6 Ǽ ڿԴ ǰϴ ǽø ο ġ
ڿԴ ǽøδٸ
28:6 And a spirit of wisdom to the judge, and strength to those who keep back the attackers
at the door of the town.
28:6 And for a spirit of judgment to him that sits in judgment, and for strength
to them that turn the battle to the gate.

ڵ ַ Ͽ ġ ֿ ַ Ͽ ƲŸ

28:7 And further, these are uncertain through wine, and have gone out of the right way
through strong drink: the priest and the prophet are uncertain through strong drink,
they are overcome by wine, they have gone out of the way through strong drink; their
vision is false, they go wrong in their decisions.
28:7 But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are
out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink,
they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink;
they go astray in vision, they stumble in judgment.

28:8 For all the tables are covered with coughed-up food, so that there is not a clean
place.
28:8 For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no
place clean.

28:9 To whom will he give knowledge? and to whom will he make clear the word? Will it
be to those who have newly given up milk, and who have only now been taken from
the breast?
28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand
doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

28:10 For it is one rule after another; one line after another; here a little, there a
little.
28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line,
line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

28:11 No, but with broken talk, and with a strange tongue, he will give his word to this
people:
28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

28:12 To whom he said, This is the rest, give rest to him who is tired; and by this you
may get new strength; but they would not give ear.
28:12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith all of you may cause the
weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

28:13 For this cause the word of the Lord will be to them rule after rule, line after
line, here a little, there a little; so that they may go on their way, and falling
back may be broken, and taken in the net.
28:13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept
upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little;
that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
28:14 ̷Ƿ 췽 ִ 鼺 ġϴ 游 ڿ ȣ
28:14 Give ear then to the word of the Lord, you men of pride, the rulers of this people
in Jerusalem:
28:14 Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, all of you scornful men, that
rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
28:15 츮 Ͽ ο ;Ͽ ġ
츮 ġ ϸ 츮 츮 dzó Ұ
Ʒ 츮 ̶ ϴµ
28:15 Because you have said, We have made death our friend, and with the underworld we
have made an agreement; when the overflowing waters come through they will not come
near us; for we are looking to false words for help, taking cover in what is untrue:
28:15 Because all of you have said, We have made a covenant with death, and
with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through,
it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood
have we hid ourselves:
28:16 Ƿ ȣͲ ÿ¿ ξ ʸ
ҳ ̿ ϰ ߰ ̶ װ ϴ ڴ ϰ
ƴϸδ
28:16 For this cause says the Lord God, See, I am placing in Zion as a base, a stone,
a tested stone, an angle-stone which is certain and of great value: and he who has
faith will not give way.
28:16 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation
a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that
believes shall not make haste.
28:17 Ƿ ߸ dzó ϸ

28:17 And I will make right decision the measuring-line, and righteousness the weight:
and the ice-storm will take away the safe place of false words, and the secret place
will be covered by the flowing waters.
28:17 Judgment also will I apply to the line, and righteousness to the plummet:
and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow
the hiding place.
28:18 Ҿ ϸ η Ҿ ;
Ͽ ġ װͿ ̶
28:18 And the help you were looking for from death will come to nothing, and your agreement
with the underworld will be broken; when the overflowing waters come through, then
you will be overcome by them.
28:18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement
with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through,
then all of you shall be trodden down by it.
28:19 װ ̴ ħ ϰ ־߷

28:19 Whenever they come through they will overtake you; for they will come through morning
after morning, by day and by night: and the news will be nothing but fear.
28:19 From the time that it goes forth it shall take you: for morning by
morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation
only to understand the report.
28:20 ħ ªƼ ϸ ̺ Ƽ

28:20 For the bed is not long enough for a man to be stretched out on: and the cover is
not wide enough for him to be covered with.
28:20 For the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it: and
the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it.

28:21 For the Lord will come up as on Mount Perazim, he will be moved to wrath as in the
valley of Gibeon; so that he may do his work--strange is his work; and give effect
to his act--unnatural is his act.
28:21 For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be angry as
in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring
to pass his act, his strange act.
28:22 Ƿ 游 ڰ ұ ϳ
Ű Ͻ ȣͲμ ϶
28:22 And now, take care that you do not make sport of him, or your bands will be made
strong; for I have had word from the Lord, the Lord of armies, of an end, of a complete
end, which is to come on all the land.
28:22 Now therefore be all of you not mockers, lest your bands be made strong:
for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon
the whole earth.

28:23 Let your ears be open to my voice; give attention to what I say.
28:23 Give all of you ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.
28:24 Ϸ ڰ ʰ ⸸ ϰڴ ϸ

28:24 Is the ploughman for ever ploughing? does he not get the earth ready and broken
up for the seed?
28:24 Does the plowman plow all day to sow? does he open and break the clods
of his ground?
28:25 ̹ Ͽ ȸ Ѹ ȸ Ѹ Ҹ
ʰڴ
28:25 When the face of the earth has been levelled, does he not put in the different sorts
of seed, and the grain in lines, and the barley in its place, and the spelt at the
edge?
28:25 When he has made plain the face thereof, does he not cast abroad the
fitches, and scatter the cummin, and cast in the principal wheat and the appointed
barley and the spelt in their place?
28:26 ̴ ϳ ̻ ġ̸
28:26 For his God is his teacher, giving him the knowledge of these things.
28:26 For his God does instruct him to discretion, and does teach him.
28:27 ȸ ƴϸ ȸ ƴϰ
ȸ ۴ ȸ
28:27 For the fitches are not crushed with a sharp instrument, and a cart-wheel is not
rolled over the cummin; but the grain of the fitches is hammered out with a stick,
and of the cummin with a rod.
28:27 For the fitches are not threshed with a threshing instrument, neither
is a cart wheel turned about upon the cummin; but the fitches are beaten out
with a staff, and the cummin with a rod.
28:28 μ°, ƴ϶ ⸸ ƴϰ װͿ

28:28 Is the grain for bread crushed? He does not go on crushing it for ever, but he lets
his cart-wheels and his horses go over it without crushing it.
28:28 Bread corn is bruised; because he will not ever be threshing it, nor
break it with the wheel of his cart, nor bruise it with his horsemen.
28:29 ̵ ȣͲμ ̶ ϸ ϴ϶
28:29 This comes from the Lord of armies, purposing wonders, and wise in all his acts.
28:29 This also comes forth from the LORD of hosts, which is wonderful in
counsel, and excellent in working.
29:1 Ƹ̿ Ƹ̿ ģ ̿ γ Ⱑ ƿϿ
29:1 Ho! Ariel, Ariel, the town against which David made war; put year to year, let the
feasts come round:
29:1 Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt! add all of you year
to year; let them kill sacrifices.
29:2 ʰ Ƹ Ӱ ϸ װ ϰ ְϸ Ƹ

29:2 And I will send trouble on Ariel, and there will be weeping and cries of grief;
and she will be to me as Ariel.
29:2 Yet I will distress Ariel, and there shall be heaviness and sorrow:
and it shall be unto me as Ariel.
29:3 ʸ ѷ ġ ʸ 븦 ʸ

29:3 And I will make war on you like David, and you will be shut in by earthworks, and
I will make towers round you.
29:3 And I will camp against you round about, and will lay siege against
you with a mount, and I will raise forts against you.
29:4 װ ϸ Ҹ Ƽ ̶
Ҹ Ҹ Ҹ Ƽ Ÿ
29:4 And you will be made low, and your voice will come out of the earth, and your words
will be low out of the dust; and your voice will come out of the earth like that
of a spirit, making bird-like noises out of the dust.
29:4 And you shall be brought down, and shall speak out of the ground, and
your speech shall be low out of the dust, and your voice shall be, as of one
that has a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and your speech shall whisper
out of the dust.
29:5 Ƽ ڰ
ҷ 氢 ڱ ̷ ̶
29:5 And the army of your attackers will be like small dust, and all the cruel ones like
dry stems gone before the wind; suddenly it will come about.
29:5 Moreover the multitude of your strangers shall be like small dust, and
the multitude of the terrible ones shall be as chaff that passes away: yea,
it shall be at an instant suddenly.
29:6 ȣͲ ° ū Ҹ ȸٶ dz ͷ Ҳ

29:6 The Lord of armies will come in with thunder and earth-shaking and great noise,
with rushing wind and storm, and the flame of burning fire.
29:6 You shall be visited of the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake,
and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.
29:7 Ƹ ġ Ƹ ļ ϴ
ڴ , ȯ Ǹ
29:7 And all the nations making war on Ariel, and all those who are fighting against
her and shutting her in with their towers, will be like a dream, like a vision of
the night.
29:7 And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel, even
all that fight against her and her stronghold, and that distress her, shall
be as a dream of a night vision.
29:8 ָ ڰ Ծ ڰ
ϸ ӿ ִ ÿ ġ
29:8 And it will be like a man desiring food, and dreaming that he is feasting; but when
he is awake there is nothing in his mouth: or like a man in need of water, dreaming
that he is drinking; but when he is awake he is feeble and his soul is full of desire:
so will all the nations be which make war on Mount Zion.
29:8 It shall even be as when an hungry man dreams, and, behold, he eats;
but he awakes, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreams, and,
behold, he drinks; but he awakes, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul has
appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount
Zion.
29:9 Ұ ǰ Ұ Ƕ
ַ ƴϸ ƲŸ ַ ƴ϶
29:9 Be surprised and full of wonder; let your eyes be covered and be blind: be overcome,
but not with wine; go with uncertain steps, but not because of strong drink.
29:9 Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry all of you out, and cry: they are drunken,
but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.
29:10 ȣͲ ϴ ξ ֻ
̴ ڿ Ӹ ̴ Ӹ ڶ
29:10 For the Lord has sent on you a spirit of deep sleep; and by him your eyes, the prophets,
are shut, and your heads, the seers, are covered.
29:10 For the LORD has poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and
has closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers has he covered.
29:11 Ƿ ð Դ ġ å ̶ װ
ڿ ָ ̸⸦ ״뿡 ûϳ ̸ ϸ ϱ⸦ Ͽ
ϰڳ ̿
29:11 And the vision of all this has become to you like the words of a book which is shut,
which men give to one who has knowledge of writing, saying, Make clear to us what
is in the book: and he says, I am not able to, for the book is shut:
29:11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that
is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray
you: and he says, I cannot; for it is sealed:
29:12 ڿ ָ ̸⸦ ״뿡 ûϳ ̸ ϸ ϱ⸦
ϴ ̴϶
29:12 And they give it to one without learning, saying, Make clear to us what is in the
book: and he says, I have no knowledge of writing.
29:12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read
this, I pray you: and he says, I am not learned.
29:13 ֲ 鼺 δ ϸ Լδ

29:13 And the Lord said, because this people come near to me with their mouths, and give
honour to me with their lips, but their heart is far from me, and their fear of
me is false, a rule given them by the teaching of men;
29:13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with
their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart
far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
29:14 Ƿ 鼺 ߿ ϰ ٽ
ϸ ö Ѹ
29:14 For this cause I will again do a strange thing among this people, a thing to be
wondered at: and the wisdom of their wise men will come to nothing, and the sense
of their guides will no longer be seen.
29:14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this
people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men
shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.
29:15 ȭ ڱ ȣͲ ϴ ڿ
ο ϸ ̸⸦ 츮 츮 ˷ ϴ
29:15 Cursed are those who go deep to keep their designs secret from the Lord, and whose
works are in the dark, and who say, Who sees us? and who has knowledge of our acts?
29:15 Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and
their works are in the dark, and they say, Who sees us? and who knows us?
29:16 и ϵ ̸ ڴ

ϰ ڱ⸦ ڿ Ͽ ̸⸦ װ Ѹ

29:16 You are turning things upside down! Is the wet earth the same to you as the one
who is forming it? will the thing made say of him who made it, He made me not: or
the thing formed say of him who gave it form, He has no knowledge?
29:16 Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the
potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or
shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?
29:17 ̱ ٳ ⸧ ʰ ⸧ ︲

29:17 In a very short time Lebanon will become a fertile field, and the fertile field
will seem like a wood.
29:17 Is it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into
a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest?
29:18 ӰŸ å ̸ Ӱ įį Ұ

29:18 And in that day those whose ears are stopped will be hearing the words of the book;
and the eyes of the blind will see through the mist and the dark.
29:18 And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the
eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.
29:19 ڰ ȣ Ͽ ϰڰ ڰ ̽

29:19 And the poor will have their joy in the Lord increased, and those in need will be
glad in the Holy One of Israel.
29:19 The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among
men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
29:20 ̴ ڰ ҸǾ 游 ڰ ˾ ȸ
ڰ ̶
29:20 For the cruel one has come to nothing; and those who make sport of the Lord are
gone; and those who are watching to do evil are cut off:
29:20 For the terrible one is brought to nothing, and the scorner is consumed,
and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:
29:21 ۻ翡 ˸ Ǵϴ ڸ ù

29:21 Who give help to a man in a wrong cause, and who put a net for the feet of him who
gives decisions in the public place, taking away a man's right without cause.
29:21 That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that
reproves in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nothing.
29:22 Ƿ ƺ Ͻ ȣͲ ߰ ӿ Ͽ Ͻõ
߰ ʹ β ƴϰڰ ʹ ǻ ƴ ̸
29:22 For this reason the Lord, the saviour of Abraham, says about the family of Jacob,
Jacob will not now be put to shame, or his face be clouded with fear.
29:22 Therefore thus says the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the
house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax
pale.
29:23 ڼ ̸ ŷϴ
ϸ ߰ ŷ ڸ ŷϴ ϸ ̽ ϳ ̸
29:23 But when they, the children of Jacob, see the work of my hands among them, they
will give honour to my name; yes, they will give honour to the Holy One of Jacob,
and go in fear of the God of Israel.
29:23 But when he sees his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst
of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and
shall fear the God of Israel.
29:24 ȥϴ ڵ Ѹϰ Ǹ ϴ ڵ ϼ̴϶
29:24 Those whose hearts were turned away from him will get knowledge, and those who made
an outcry against him will give attention to his teaching.
29:24 They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they
that murmured shall learn doctrine.
30:1-2 ȣͲ ȭ п ڽĵ̿ 豳 Ǫ
̾Ͼ ƴϸ ; ̾Ͼ ƴϿ̷δ
ٷ ȿ Ϸ ϸ ֱ ״ÿ Ϸ Ͽ ֱ

30:1 Ho! uncontrolled children, says the Lord, who give effect to a purpose which is
not mine, and who make an agreement, but not by my spirit, increasing their sin:
30:1 Woe to the rebellious children, says the LORD, that take counsel, but
not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may
add sin to sin:
30:2 Who make a move to go down into Egypt, without authority from me; who are looking
to the strength of Pharaoh for help, and whose hope is in the shade of Egypt.
30:2 That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to
strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow
of Egypt!
30:3 Ƿ ٷ ġ Ǹ ֱ ״ÿ

30:3 And the strength of Pharaoh will be your shame, and your hope in the shade of Egypt
will come to nothing.
30:3 Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust
in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.
30:4 Ҿȿ ְ ŵ ϳ ̸
30:4 For his chiefs are at Zoan, and his representatives have come to Hanes.
30:4 For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.
30:5 ڱ⸦ ϰ ϴ Ͽ ġ ϸ
ϸ ϰԵ ϰ ġ ǰ ϸ ǰ ̴϶
30:5 For they have all come with offerings to a people of no use to them, in whom is
no help or profit, but only shame and a bad name.
30:5 They were all ashamed of a people that could not profit them, nor be
an help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.
30:6 ¿ ŵ 繰 ư

ϰ ڱ Է
30:6 The word about the Beasts of the South. Through the land of trouble and grief, the
land of the she-lion and the voice of the lion, of the snake and the burning winged
snake, they take their wealth on the backs of young asses, and their stores on camels,
to a people in whom is no profit.
30:6 The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and
anguish, from whence come the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying
serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and
their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit
them.
30:7 ֱ ǰ ϴ϶ Ƿ ֱ ̶

30:7 For there is no use or purpose in the help of Egypt: so I have said about her, She
is Rahab, who has come to an end.
30:7 For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have
I cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.
30:8 鼺 տ ǿ ϸ å Ἥ ļ ְ ϶
30:8 Now go, put it in writing before them on a board, and make a record of it in a book,
so that it may be for the future, a witness for all time to come.
30:8 Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that
it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:
30:9 ̴ п 鼺̿ ϴ ڽ̿ ȣ Ⱦϴ

30:9 For they are an uncontrolled people, false-hearted, who will not give ear to the
teaching of the Lord:
30:9 That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will
not hear the law of the LORD:
30:10 ڿ ̸⸦ ڿ ̸⸦ 츮
ε巯 ϶ ̶
30:10 Who say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Do not give us word of what
is true, but say false things to give us pleasure:
30:10 Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not
unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
30:11 θ ø濡 Ű ̽ ŷϽ ڷ 츮

30:11 Get out of the good way, turning from the right road; do not keep the Holy One of
Israel before our minds.
30:11 Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy
One of Israel to cease from before us.
30:12 ̷Ƿ ̽ ŷϽ ڰ Ͻõ ſ
йڰ Ͼ װͿ Ƿϴ
30:12 For this cause the Holy One of Israel says, Because you will not give ear to this
word, and are looking for help in ways of deceit and evil, and are putting your
hope in them:
30:12 Wherefore thus says the Holy One of Israel, Because all of you despise
this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:
30:13 ˾ ġ Ҿ 氢 Ȧ
ϸ ϼ
30:13 This sin will be to you like a crack in a high wall, causing its fall suddenly and
in a minute.
30:13 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall,
swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking comes suddenly at an instant.
30:14 װ Ͻõ ̰ Ƴ
ļϽø ߿, Ʊ̿ ϰų ̿ ͵

30:14 And he will let it be broken as a potter's vessel is broken: it will be smashed
to bits without mercy; so that there will not be a bit in which one may take fire
from the fireplace, or water from the spring.
30:14 And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters' vessel that is
broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the
bursting of it a potsherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water likewise
out of the pit.
30:15 ȣ ̽ ŷϽ ڰ Ͻõ ȿ
óϿ ̿ ϰ ŷϿ ̾ ġ
ƴϰ
30:15 For the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, said, In quiet and rest is your salvation:
peace and hope are your strength: but you would not have it so.
30:15 For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and
rest shall all of you be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your
strength: and all of you would not.
30:16 ̸⸦ ƴ϶ 츮 Ÿ ϸ ̿
̸⸦ 츮 Ÿ Ѵ ڰ
30:16 Saying, No, for we will go in flight on horses; so you will certainly go in flight:
and, We will go on the backs of quick-running beasts; so those who go after you
will be quick-footed.
30:16 But all of you said, No; for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall
all of you flee: and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that
pursue you be swift.
30:17 ¢ õ ϰڰ ټ ¢ ϰ
ڴ ܿ ڰ ȣ ϼ̴϶
30:17 A thousand will go in fear before one; even before five you will go in flight: till
you are like a pillar by itself on the top of a mountain, and like a flag on a hill.
30:17 One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five
shall all of you flee: till all of you be left as a beacon upon the top of a
mountain, and as an explicit sign on an hill.
30:18 ȣͲ ٸó ̴ Ǯ Ͻ̿

30:18 For this cause the Lord will be waiting, so that he may be kind to you; and he will
be lifted up, so that he may have mercy on you; for the Lord is a God of righteousness:
there is a blessing on all whose hope is in him.
30:18 And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you,
and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD
is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
30:19 ÿ¿ ϸ 췽 ϴ 鼺 ʴ ٽ ̶

30:19 O people, living in Zion, at Jerusalem, your weeping will be ended; he will certainly
have mercy on you at the sound of your cry; when it comes to his ear, he will give
you an answer.
30:19 For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: you shall weep no
more: he will be very gracious unto you at the voice of your cry; when he shall
hear it, he will answer you.
30:20 ֲ ȯ ֽó ٽ

30:20 And though the Lord will give you the bread of trouble and the water of grief, you
will no longer put your teacher on one side, but you will see your teacher:
30:20 And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water
of affliction, yet shall not your teachers be removed into a corner any more,
but yours eyes shall see your teachers:
30:21 ġġ ġġ ڿ Ҹ
Ϳ ̸⸦ ̰ δ ̸ ϶ ̸
30:21 And at your back, when you are turning to the right hand or to the left, a voice
will be sounding in your ears, saying, This is the way in which you are to go.
30:21 And yours ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way,
walk all of you in it, when all of you turn to the right hand, and when all
of you turn to the left.
30:22 ξ ø
Ͽ Ұ ̸⸦ ϸ
30:22 And you will make unclean what is covering your pictured images of silver, and the
plating of your images of gold: you will send them away as an unclean thing, saying,
Be gone!
30:22 All of you shall defile also the covering of your graven images of
silver, and the ornament of your molten images of gold: you shall cast them
away as a menstruous cloth; you shall say unto it, Get you behind.
30:23 װ Ѹ ڿ ֲ ֻ һ

30:23 And he will give rain for your seed, so that you may put it in the earth; and you
will have bread from the produce of the earth, good and more than enough for your
needs: in that day the cattle will get their food in wide grass-lands.
30:23 Then shall he give the rain of your seed, that you shall sow the ground
likewise; and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shall be fat and abundant:
in that day shall your cattle feed in large pastures.
30:24 簡 ҿ ͵ Ű â θ ְ ̸

30:24 And the oxen and the young asses which are used for ploughing, will have salted
grain which has been made free from the waste with fork and basket.
30:24 The oxen likewise and the young asses that ear the ground shall eat
clean animal food, which has been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.
30:25 ũ ϴ 밡 , طɿ ó

30:25 And there will be rivers and streams of water on every tall mountain and on every
high hill, in the day when great numbers are put to the sword, when the towers come
down.
30:25 And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill,
rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers
fall.
30:26 ȣͲ 鼺 ó θŽø ڸ ġô
ڰ ĥ 谡 Ǿ ϰ
30:26 And the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and the light of the
sun will be seven times greater, as the light of seven days, in the day when the
Lord puts oil on the wounds of his people, and makes them well from the blows they
have undergone.
30:26 Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and
the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the
day that the LORD binds up the breach of his people, and heals the stroke of
their wound.
30:27 ȣ ̸ 濡 밡 ٵ ϸ
Ⱑ Ͼ ϸ Լ г밡 á ͷ
30:27 See, the name of the Lord is coming from far, burning with his wrath, with thick
smoke going up: his lips are full of passion, and his tongue is like a burning fire:
30:27 Behold, the name of the LORD comes from far, burning with his anger,
and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue
as a devouring fire:
30:28 ȣ ġ âϿ ġ ϼ װ ϴ Ű
θ Ȥǰ ϴ ڰ Կ ̽ø
30:28 And his breath is as an overflowing stream, coming up even to the neck, shaking
the nations for their destruction, like the shaking of grain in a basket: and he
will put a cord in the mouths of the people, turning them out of their way.
30:28 And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst
of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be
a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to go astray.
30:29 ŷ ⸦ Ű 㿡 뷡 ̸ Ҹ ȣ
̽ ݼԷ ư ſ ̶
30:29 You will have a song, as in the night when a holy feast is kept; and you will be
glad in heart, as when they go with music of the pipe to the mountain of the Lord,
the Rock of Israel.
30:29 All of you shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity
is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goes with a pipe to come into the
mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.
30:30 ȣͲ Ҹ Ͻø ġ
̽õ ͷ ȭ dz Ͻø
30:30 And the Lord will send out the sound of his great voice, and they will see his arm
stretched out, with the heat of his wrath, and the flame of a burning fire; with
a cloud-burst, and storm, and a rain of ice.
30:30 And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall
show the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with
the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.
30:31 ȣ Ҹ Ѽ ̸ ֲ ġ ε
30:31 For through the voice of the Lord the Assyrian will be broken, and the Lord's rod
will be lifted up against him.
30:31 For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down,
which stroke with a rod.
30:32 ȣͲ Ͻ ̸ Ѽ Ͻ Ұ ġ

30:32 And every blow of the rod of his punishment, which the Lord will send on him, will
be with the sound of music: and with the waving of his sword the Lord will make
war against him.
30:32 And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the LORD
shall lay upon him, it shall be with timbrels and harps: and in battles of shaking
will he fight with it.
30:33 ̹ Ǿ Ͽ ̶ а
Ͽ ű Ұ ȣ ȣ Ȳ õ Ƽ ̸ 縣ø
30:33 For a place of fire has long been ready; yes, it has been made ready for the king;
he has made it deep and wide: it is massed with fire and much wood; the breath of
the Lord, like a stream of fire, puts a light to it.
30:33 For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he
has made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath
of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, does kindle it.
