1:1 Now it came about in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of
the month, while I was by the river Chebar among those who had been made prisoners,
that the heavens were made open and I saw visions of God.
1:1 Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the
fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar,
that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.
1:2 ȣ߱ ̶
1:2 On the fifth day of the month, in the fifth year after King Jehoiachin had been
made a prisoner,
1:2 In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin's
captivity,
1:3 ȣ ν Ƶ ֿ
Ư ϰ ȣ Ǵ ϶
1:3 The word of the Lord came to me, Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land
of the Chaldaeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the Lord was on me there.
1:3 The word of the LORD came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son
of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the
LORD was there upon him.
1:4 Ϲ濡 dz ū µ ӿ ½½Ͽ 鿡

1:4 And, looking, I saw a storm-wind coming out of the north, a great cloud with flames
of fire coming after one another, and a bright light shining round about it and
in the heart of it was something coloured like electrum.
1:4 And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great
cloud, and a fire setting itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of
the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.
1:5 ӿ Ÿµ ̷ϴ ̶
1:5 And in the heart of it were the forms of four living beings. And this was what they
were like; they had the form of a man.
1:5 Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures.
And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.
1:6 ְ
1:6 And every one had four faces, and every one of them had four wings.
1:6 And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings.
1:7 ٸ ߹ٴ ۾ ߹ٴ
1:7 And their feet were straight feet; and the under sides of their feet were like the
feet of oxen; and they were shining like polished brass.
1:7 And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like
the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.

1:8 And they had the hands of a man under their wings; the four of them had faces on
their four sides.
1:8 And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides;
and they four had their faces and their wings.
1:9 Ͽ Ű ƴϰ

1:9 They went without turning, every one went straight forward.
1:9 Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went;
they went every one straight forward.

1:10 As for the form of their faces, they had the face of a man, and the four of them
had the face of a lion on the right side, and the four of them had the face of an
ox on the left side, and the four of them had the face of an eagle.
1:10 As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man,
and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an
ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.
1:11 ̷ϸ 켭 Ѿ Ͽ
1:11 And their wings were separate at the top; two of the wings of every one were joined
one to another, and two were covering their bodies.
1:11 Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings
of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.

1:12 Every one of them went straight forward; wherever the spirit was to go they went;
they went on without turning.
1:12 And they went every one straight forward: where the spirit was to go,
they went; and they turned not when they went.

1:13 And between the living beings it was like burning coals of fire, as if flames were
going one after the other between the living beings; and the fire was bright, and
out of the fire went thunder-flames.
1:13 As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like
burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down
among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went
forth lightning.
1:14 շ
1:14 And the living beings went out and came back as quickly as a thunder-flame.
1:14 And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash
of lightning.

1:15 Now while I was looking at the four living beings, I saw one wheel on the earth,
by the side of the living beings, for the four of them.
1:15 Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth
by the living creatures, with his four faces.
1:16 Ѱ Ȳ

1:16 The form of the wheels and their work was like a beryl; the four of them had the
same form and design, and they were like a wheel inside a wheel.
1:16 The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour
of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work
was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel.
1:17 Ű ʰ ϸ
1:17 The four of them went straight forward without turning to one side.
1:17 When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not
when they went.
1:18 ѷ ѷ ư鼭 ϸ
1:18 And I saw that they had edges, and their edges, even of the four, were full of eyes
round about.
1:18 As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their
rings were full of eyes round about them four.
1:19 翡 ϰ 鸱
1:19 And when the living beings went on, the wheels went by their side; and when the
living beings were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.
1:19 And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when
the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.
1:20 ϸ ϴ 翡
鸮 ̴ ̶
1:20 Wherever the spirit was to go they went; and the wheels were lifted up by their
side: for the spirit of the living beings was in the wheels.
1:20 Anywhere the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to
go; and the wheels were lifted up opposite to them: for the spirit of the living
creature was in the wheels.
1:21 ϸ ̵鵵 ϰ ġ ̵鵵 ġ
鸱 ̵鵵 翡 鸮 ̴ ̴
1:21 When these went on, the others went; and when these came to rest, the others came
to rest; and when these were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up
by their side: for the spirit of the living beings was in the wheels.
1:21 When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and
when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up opposite
to them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
1:22 Ӹ â ־

1:22 And over the heads of the living beings there was the form of an arch, looking like
ice, stretched out over their heads on high.
1:22 And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature
was as the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads
above.
1:23 â ؿ Ͽ ִµ
1:23 Under the arch their wings were straight, one stretched out to another: every one
had two wings covering their bodies on this side and two covering their bodies on
that side.
1:23 And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the
other: every one had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two,
which covered on that side, their bodies.

1:24 And when they went, the sound of their wings was like the sound of great waters
to my ears, like the voice of the Ruler of all, a sound like the rushing of an army:
when they came to rest they let down their wings.
1:24 And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise
of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise
of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings.
1:25 Ӹ ִ â

1:25 And there was a voice from the top of the arch which was over their heads: when
they came to rest they let down their wings.
1:25 And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads,
when they stood, and had let down their wings.
1:26 Ӹ ִ â ִµ

1:26 And on the top of the arch which was over their heads was the form of a king's seat,
like a sapphire stone; and on the form of the seat was the form of a man seated
on it on high.
1:26 And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of
a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the
throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.

1:27 And I saw it coloured like electrum, with the look of fire in it and round it, going
up from what seemed to be the middle of his body; and going down from what seemed
to be the middle of his body I saw what was like fire, and there was a bright light
shining round him.
1:27 And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about
within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance
of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it
had brightness round about.
1:28 ä ִ ̴ ȣ

1:28 Like the bow in the cloud on a day of rain, so was the light shining round him.
And this is what the glory of the Lord was like. And when I saw it I went down on
my face, and the voice of one talking came to my ears.
1:28 As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain,
so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance
of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my
face, and I heard a voice of one that spoke.
2:1 װ ̸õ ھ Ͼ װ ϸ Ͻø
2:1 And he said to me, Son of man, get up on your feet, so that I may say words to you.
2:1 And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon your feet, and I will speak
unto you.
2:2 Ͻ ϻ ñ Ͻô

2:2 And at his words the spirit came into me and put me on my feet; and his voice came
to my ears.
2:2 And the spirit entered into me when he spoke unto me, and set me upon
my feet, that I heard him that spoke unto me.
2:3 ̸õ ھ ʸ ̽ ڼ п 鼺, ϴ
ڿ Ͽ ó ̸
2:3 And he said to me, Son of man, I am sending you to the children of Israel, to an
uncontrolled nation which has gone against me: they and their fathers have been
sinners against me even to this very day.
2:3 And he said unto me, Son of man, I send you to the children of Israel,
to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against me: they and their fathers
have transgressed against me, even unto this very day.
2:4 ڼ ϰ ڴ϶ ʸ 鿡
ʴ 鿡 ̸⸦ ȣ ̷Ͻô ϶
2:4 And the children are hard and stiff-hearted; I am sending you to them: and you are
to say to them, These are the words of the Lord.
2:4 For they are shameless children and stiff hearted. I do send you unto
them; and you shall say unto them, Thus says the Lord GOD.
2:5 п ̶ ƴ
϶
2:5 And they, if they give ear to you or if they do not give ear (for they are an uncontrolled
people), will see that there has been a prophet among them.
2:5 And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for
they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there has been a prophet among
them.
2:6 ھ ʴ ÿ Բ óϸ
η η п ̶ η
2:6 And you, son of man, have no fear of them or of their words, even if sharp thorns
are round you and you are living among scorpions: have no fear of their words and
do not be overcome by their looks, for they are an uncontrolled people.
2:6 And you, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their
words, though briers and thorns be with you, and you do dwell among scorpions:
be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be
a rebellious house.
2:7 п ڶ ƴ ʴ
2:7 And you are to give them my words, if they give ear to you or if they do not: for
they are uncontrolled.
2:7 And you shall speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether
they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.
2:8 ھ װ ̸ п п
װ ִ Ͻñ
2:8 But you, son of man, give ear to what I say to you, and do not be uncontrolled like
that uncontrolled people: let your mouth be open and take what I give you.
2:8 But you, son of man, hear what I say unto you; Be not you rebellious
like that rebellious house: open your mouth, and eat that I give you.
2:9 Ͽ տ η縶 å ִ
2:9 And looking, I saw a hand stretched out to me, and I saw the roll of a book in it;
2:9 And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll
of a book was therein;
2:10 װ װ տ ô ƿ ִµ ְ ְ
ϵǾ
2:10 And he put it open before me, and it had writing on the front and on the back; words
of grief and sorrow and trouble were recorded in it.
2:10 And he spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and
there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.
3:1 װ ̸õ ھ ʴ ʴ η縶
̽ ӿ ϶ Ͻñ
3:1 And he said to me, Son of man, take this roll for your food, and go and say my words
to the children of Israel.
3:1 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that you find; eat this roll,
and go speak unto the house of Israel.
3:2 װ η縶 ̽ø
3:2 And, on my opening my mouth, he made me take the roll as food.
3:2 So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.
3:3 ̸õ ھ װ ִ η縶 迡 âڿ
ä Ͻñ װ Կ ޱⰡ
3:3 And he said to me, Son of man, let your stomach make a meal of it and let your inside
be full of this roll which I am giving you. Then I took it, and it was sweet as
honey in my mouth.
3:3 And he said unto me, Son of man, cause your belly to eat, and fill your
bowels with this roll that I give you. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth
as honey for sweetness.
3:4 װ ̸õ ھ ̽ ӿ 鿡

3:4 And he said to me, Son of man, go now to the children of Israel, and say my words
to them.
3:4 And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get you unto the house of Israel,
and speak with my words unto them.
3:5 ʸ ٸų 鼺 ƴϿ ̽
ӿ ̶
3:5 For you are not sent to a people whose talk is strange and whose language is hard,
but to the children of Israel;
3:5 For you are not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language,
but to the house of Israel;
3:6 ʸ ٸų װ ˾Ƶ
ƴϴ϶ ʸ 鿡
3:6 Not to a number of peoples whose talk is strange and whose language is hard and
whose words are not clear to you. Truly, if I sent you to them they would give ear
to you.
3:6 Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose
words you can not understand. Surely, had I sent you to them, they would have
hearkened unto you.
3:7 ̽ ̸ Ͽ ƴϸ
̴ ƴ̴϶
3:7 But the children of Israel will not give ear to you; for they have no mind to give
ear to me: for all the children of Israel have a hard brow and a stiff heart.
3:7 But the house of Israel will not hearken unto you; for they will not
hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are shameless and hardhearted.
3:8 ϵ Ͽ ̸ ϵ
̸ Ͽ
3:8 See, I have made your face hard against their faces, and your brow hard against
their brows.
3:8 Behold, I have made your face strong against their faces, and your forehead
strong against their foreheads.
3:9 ̸ ȭ ݰ Ͽ п ̶
η Ͻð
3:9 Like a diamond harder than rock I have made your brow: have no fear of them and
do not be overcome by their looks, for they are an uncontrolled people.
3:9 As an adamant harder than flint have I made your forehead: fear them
not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.
3:10 ̸õ ھ װ ̸ ʴ

3:10 Then he said to me, Son of man, take into your heart all my words which I am about
to say to you, and let your ears be open to them.
3:10 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak
unto you receive in yours heart, and hear with yours ears.
3:11 Է ƴ 鿡 Ͽ
̸⸦ ȣ ̷Ͻô ϶ Ͻô
3:11 And go now to those who have been taken away as prisoners, to the children of your
people, and say to them, This is what the Lord has said; if they give ear or if
they do not.
3:11 And go, get you to them of the captivity, unto the children of your
people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus says the Lord GOD; whether
they will hear, or whether they will forbear.
3:12 øôµ ڿ ũ ︮ Ҹ

3:12 Then I was lifted up by the wind, and at my back the sound of a great rushing came
to my ears when the glory of the Lord was lifted up from his place.
3:12 Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great
rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the LORD from his place.
3:13 ̴ ε Ҹ 翡 Ҹ ũ
︮ Ҹ
3:13 And there was the sound of the wings of the living beings touching one another,
and the sound of the wheels at their side, the sound of a great rushing.
3:13 I heard also the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched
one another, and the noise of the wheels opposite to them, and a noise of a
great rushing.
3:14 ÷ ôµ ٽϰ
ϴ ȣ Ǵ ְ Ͻô
3:14 And the wind, lifting me up, took me away: and I went in the heat of my spirit,
and the hand of the Lord was strong on me.
3:14 So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness,
in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.
3:15 ̿ ƺ ̸ 鼺 ϴ ڵ鿡
ư ߿ δ ĥ ϶
3:15 Then I came to those who had been taken away as prisoners, who were at Telabib by
the river Chebar, and I was seated among them full of wonder for seven days.
3:15 Then I came to them of the captivity at Telabib, that dwelt by the river
of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them
seven days.
3:16 ĥ Ŀ ȣ Ͽ
3:16 And at the end of seven days, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
3:16 And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD
came unto me, saying,
3:17 ھ ʸ ̽ ļ ʴ
Ͽ ġ
3:17 Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the children of Israel: so give ear to
the word of my mouth, and give them word from me of their danger.
3:17 Son of man, I have made you a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore
hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.
3:18 ο ϱ⸦ ʴ װ ġ ƴϰų
ο Ϸ ƴϸ

3:18 When I say to the evil-doer, Death will certainly be your fate; and you give him
no word of it and say nothing to make clear to the evil-doer the danger of his evil
way, so that he may be safe; that same evil man will come to death in his evil-doing;
but I will make you responsible for his blood.
3:18 When I say unto the wicked, You shall surely die; and you give him not
warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life;
the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require
at yours hand.
3:19 װ ġ װ Ű ƴϸ

3:19 But if you give the evil-doer word of his danger, and he is not turned from his
sin or from his evil way, death will overtake him in his evil-doing; but your life
will be safe.
3:19 Yet if you warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor
from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your
soul.
3:20 ǿ ̹ Ǵ

װ ߿ Ͽ տ ã
3:20 Again, when an upright man, turning away from his righteousness, does evil, and
I put a cause of falling in his way, death will overtake him: because you have given
him no word of his danger, death will overtake him in his evil-doing, and there
will be no memory of the upright acts which he has done; but I will make you responsible
for his blood.
3:20 Again, When a righteous man does turn from his righteousness, and commit
iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: because you
have not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which
he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at yours hand.
3:21 װ ġ ʰ ϹǷ װ ġ ƴϸ
츮 ̴ ħ ̸ ʵ ȥ ϸ
3:21 But if you say to the upright man that he is not to do evil, he will certainly keep
his life because he took note of your word; and your life will be safe.
3:21 Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not,
and he does not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also you have
delivered your soul.
3:22 ȣͲ Ǵ ű⼭ Ͻð ̸õ Ͼ
ư ű⼭ ʿ ϸ Ͻñ
3:22 And the hand of the Lord was on me there; and he said, Get up and go out into the
valley and there I will have talk with you.
3:22 And the hand of the LORD was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise,
go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with you.
3:23 Ͼ ư ȣ ű ӹµ

3:23 Then I got up and went out into the valley; and I saw the glory of the Lord resting
there as I had seen it by the river Chebar; and I went down on my face.
3:23 Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory
of the LORD stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and
I fell on my face.
3:24 ϻ ð Ͽ ʴ
3:24 Then the spirit came into me and put me on my feet; and he had talk with me and
said to me, Go and keep yourself shut up inside your house.
3:24 Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spoke
with me, and said unto me, Go, shut yourself within yours house.
3:25 ھ ٷ ʸ Ÿ װ ̶
3:25 But see, O son of man, I will put bands on you, prisoning you in them, and you will
not go out among them:
3:25 But you, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon you, and shall
bind you with them, and you shall not go out among them:
3:26 õ忡 ٰ Ͽ ʷ Ǿ åڰ
ϰ ϸ п ̴϶
3:26 And I will make your tongue fixed to the roof of your mouth, so that you have no
voice and may not make protests to them: for they are an uncontrolled people.
3:26 And I will make your tongue cleave to the roof of your mouth, that you
shall be dumb, and shall not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious
house.
3:27 ʿ ʴ 鿡 ̸⸦
ȣ ̷Ͻô ϶ ڴ ̿ ڴ ƴϸ

3:27 But when I have talk with you I will make your mouth open, and you are to say to
them, This is what the Lord has said: Let the hearer give ear; and as for him who
will not, let him keep his ears shut: for they are an uncontrolled people.
3:27 But when I speak with you, I will open your mouth, and you shall say
unto them, Thus says the Lord GOD; He that hears, let him hear; and he that
forbears, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.
4:1 ھ ڼ ٰ տ 췽
4:1 And you, son of man, take a back and put it before you and on it make a picture
of a town, even Jerusalem.
4:1 You also, son of man, take you a tile, and lay it before you, and illustrate
upon it the city, even Jerusalem:
4:2 ε װ ġ ѷ
4:2 And make an attack on it, shutting it in, building strong places against it, and
making high an earthwork against it; and put up tents against it, placing engines
all round it for smashing down its walls.
4:2 And lay siege against it, and build a fort against it, and cast a mount
against it; set the camp also against it, and set battering rams against it
round about.
4:3 ö ٰ ʿ ̿ ξ ö Ͽ δ
ó ζ ̰ ̽ ӿ ¡ Ǹ
4:3 And take a flat iron plate, and put it for a wall of iron between you and the town:
and let your face be turned to it, and it will be shut in and you will make an attack
on it. This will be a sign to the children of Israel.
4:3 Moreover take you unto you an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron
between you and the city: and set your face against it, and it shall be besieged,
and you shall lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.
4:4 ʴ ̽ ˾ ϵ

4:4 Then, stretching yourself out on your left side, take the sin of the children of
Israel on yourself: for as long as you are stretched out, so long will the sin of
the children of Israel be on you.
4:4 Lie you also upon your left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of
Israel upon it: according to the number of the days that you shall lie upon
it you shall bear their iniquity.
4:5 װ Ͽ ̴϶
ʴ ̷ ̽ ˾ ϰ
4:5 For I have had the years of their sin measured for you by a number of days, even
three hundred and ninety days: and you will take on yourself the sin of the children
of Israel.
4:5 For I have laid upon you the years of their iniquity, according to the
number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: so shall you bear the iniquity
of the house of Israel.
4:6 ŵ ʴ ˾ ϶ װ

4:6 And when these days are ended, turning on your right side, you are to take on yourself
the sin of the children of Judah: forty days, a day for a year, I have had it fixed
for you.
4:6 And when you have accomplished them, lie again on your right side, and
you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed
you each day for a year.
4:7 ʴ 췽 Ͽ ް ϶
4:7 And let your face be turned to where Jerusalem is shut in, with your arm uncovered,
and be a prophet against it.
4:7 Therefore you shall set your face toward the siege of Jerusalem, and
yours arm shall be uncovered, and you shall prophesy against it.
4:8 ٷ ʸ ̸ װ δ ̸

4:8 And see, I will put bands on you; and you will be stretched out without turning
from one side to the other till the days of your attack are ended.
4:8 And, behold, I will lay bands upon you, and you shall not turn you from
one side to another, till you have ended the days of your siege.

4:9 And take for yourself wheat and barley and different sorts of grain, and put them
in one vessel and make bread for yourself from them; all the days when you are stretched
on your side it will be your food.
4:9 Take you also unto you wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentils, and
millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make you bread thereof,
according to the number of the days that you shall lie upon your side, three
hundred and ninety days shall you eat thereof.
4:10 ʴ Ĺ Ƽ Ϸ ̽ ߾
4:10 And you are to take your food by weight, twenty shekels a day: you are to take it
at regular times.
4:10 And your food which you shall eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels
a day: from time to time shall you eat it.
4:11 Ͼ Ǿ ö
4:11 And you are to take water by measure, the sixth part of a hin: you are to take it
at regular times.
4:11 You shall drink also water by measure, the sixth part of an hin: from
time to time shall you drink.
4:12 ʴ װ ó Ե κ ǿ ϶
4:12 And let your food be barley cakes, cooking it before their eyes with the waste which
comes out of a man.
4:12 And you shall eat it as barley cakes, and you shall bake it with dung
that comes out of man, in their sight.
4:13 ȣͲ Ѿ ̽ ڼ ű⼭
̿ Ͻñ
4:13 And the Lord said, Even so the children of Israel will have unclean bread for their
food among the nations where I am driving them.
4:13 And the LORD said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their
defiled bread among the Gentiles, where I will drive them.
4:14 ε ȣ ȣͿ ȥ ̴
ݱ ̳ ¿ ƴϿ ⸦

4:14 Then I said, Ah, Lord! see, my soul has never been unclean, and I have never taken
as my food anything which has come to a natural death or has been broken by beasts,
from the time when I was young even till now; no disgusting flesh has ever come
into my mouth.
4:14 Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! behold, my soul has not been polluted: for
from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dies of itself,
or is torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth.
4:15 ȣͲ ̸õ κ ϱ⸦ ϳ ʴ װ

4:15 Then he said to me, See, I have given you cow's waste in place of man's waste, and
you will make your bread ready on it.
4:15 Then he said unto me, Lo, I have given you cow's dung for man's dung,
and you shall prepare your bread therewith.
4:16 ̸õ ھ 췽 Ƿϴ 鼺
߿ δ ߿ Ǿ ôٰ
4:16 And he said to me, Son of man, see, I will take away from Jerusalem her necessary
bread: they will take their bread by weight and with care, measuring out their drinking-water
with fear and wonder:
4:16 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff
of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and
they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment:
4:17 Ͽ δϿ ϸ ˾ ߿ ϸ
4:17 So that they may be in need of bread and water and be wondering at one another,
wasting away in their sin.
4:17 That they may lack bread and water, and be astonished one with another,
and consume away for their iniquity.
5:1 ھ ʴ īο Į Ͽ 赵 Ӹа Ƽ

5:1 And you, son of man, take a sharp sword, using it like a haircutter's blade, and
making it go over your head and the hair of your chin: and take scales for separating
the hair by weight.
5:1 And you, son of man, take you a sharp knife, take you a barber's razor,
and cause it to pass upon yours head and upon your beard: then take you balances
to weigh, and divide the hair.
5:2 δ ŵ ʴ ͷ ȿ һ縣

5:2 You are to have a third part burned with fire inside the town, when the days of
the attack are ended; and a third part you are to take and give blows with the sword
round about it; and give a third part for the wind to take away, and let loose a
sword after them.
5:2 You shall burn with fire a third part in the midst of the city, when
the days of the siege are fulfilled: and you shall take a third part, and strike
about it with a knife: and a third part you shall scatter in the wind; and I
will draw out a sword after them.
5:3 ʴ ͷ ߿ ڶ ΰ
5:3 And take from them a small number of hairs, folding them in your skirts.
5:3 You shall also take thereof a few in number, and bind them in your skirts.
5:4 ҿ 縣 ӿ ̽

5:4 And again take some of these and put them in the fire, burning them up in the fire;
and say to all the children of Israel,
5:4 Then take of them again, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and
burn them in the fire; for thereof shall a fire come forth into all the house
of Israel.
5:5 ȣͲ ̰ 췽̶ ̹
ξ ѷ ְ ϿŴ
5:5 This is what the Lord has said: This is Jerusalem: I have put her among the nations,
and countries are round her on every side;
5:5 Thus says the Lord GOD; This is Jerusalem: I have set it in the midst
of the nations and countries that are round about her.
5:6 װ Էʸ Ž ̹κ ϸ ʵ
ѷ ִ 溸 ϴ ̴ Էʸ ʸ ġ ƴϿ̴϶
5:6 And she has gone against my orders by doing evil more than the nations, and against
my rules more than the countries round her: for they have given up my orders, and
as for my rules, they have not gone in the way of them.
5:6 And she has changed my judgments into wickedness more than the nations,
and my statutes more than the countries that are round about her: for they have
refused my judgments and my statutes, they have not walked in them.
5:7 Ƿ ȣͰ ϳ ѷ ִ ̹κ
Ͽ ʸ ġ ƴϸ Էʸ Ű ƴϰ ѷ ִ ̹
Էʴε ġ ƴϿ϶
5:7 For this cause the Lord has said: Because you have been more uncontrolled than the
nations round about you, and have not been guided by my rules or kept my orders,
but have kept the orders of the nations round about you;
5:7 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; Because all of you multiplied more
than the nations that are round about you, and have not walked in my statutes,
neither have kept my judgments, neither have done according to the judgments
of the nations that are round about you;
5:8 Ƿ ȣͰ ϳ ʸ ġ ̹
߿
5:8 For this cause the Lord has said: See, I, even I, am against you; and I will be
judging among you before the eyes of the nations.
5:8 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, am against you,
and will execute judgments in the midst of you in the sight of the nations.
5:9 Ϸ Ͽ Ĺϰ װ
5:9 And I will do in you what I have not done and will not do again, because of all
your disgusting ways.
5:9 And I will do in you that which I have not done, and unto which I will
not do any more the like, because of all yours abominations.
5:10 ߿ ƺ Ƶ Ƶ ƺ
װ ߿ ڸ 濡
5:10 For this cause fathers will take their sons for food among you, and sons will make
a meal of their fathers; and I will be judge among you, and all the rest of you
I will send away to every wind.
5:10 Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of you, and the
sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments in you, and the whole
remnant of you will I scatter into all the winds.
5:11 Ƿ ȣͰ ϳ ΰ ͼϳ װ
̿ ǰ Ϸ Ҹ ʸ Ʋ ƴϸ
Ǯ ƴϰ ̾ϰ ϸ
5:11 For this cause, by my life, says the Lord, because you have made my holy place unclean
with all your hated things and all your disgusting ways, you will become disgusting
to me; my eye will have no mercy and I will have no pity.
5:11 Wherefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD; Surely, because you have defiled
my sanctuary with all your detestable things, and with all yours abominations,
therefore will I also diminish you; neither shall mine eye spare, neither will
I have any pity.
5:12 ¿ ̿
濡 Į 巯 ̸ 濡 ڸ

5:12 A third of you will come to death from disease, wasting away among you through need
of food; a third will be put to the sword round about you; and a third I will send
away to every wind, letting loose a sword after them.
5:12 A third part of you shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall
they be consumed in the midst of you: and a third part shall fall by the sword
round about you; and I will scatter a third part into all the winds, and I will
draw out a sword after them.
5:13 ̿ 밡 鿡 Ǯ ÿϸ
鿡 ȣͰ ˸
5:13 So my wrath will be complete and my passion will come to rest on them; and they
will be certain that I the Lord have given the word of decision, when my wrath against
them is complete.
5:13 Thus shall mine anger be accomplished, and I will cause my fury to rest
upon them, and I will be comforted: and they shall know that I the LORD have
spoken it in my zeal, when I have accomplished my fury in them.
5:14 ʷ Ȳ ϰ ʸ ѷ ִ ̹ ߿
ɿŸ ǰ ϸ
5:14 And I will make you a waste and a name of shame among the nations round about you,
in the eyes of everyone who goes by.
5:14 Moreover I will make you waste, and a reproach among the nations that
are round about you, in the sight of all that pass by.
5:15 а å װ ʸ ѷ ִ ̹ο
װ ϰ Ǹ ȣ ̴϶
5:15 And you will be a name of shame and a cause of bitter words, an example and a wonder
to the nations round about you, when I give effect to my judging among you in wrath
and in passion and in burning protests: I the Lord have said it:
5:15 So it shall be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction and an astonishment
unto the nations that are round about you, when I shall execute judgments in
you in anger and in fury and in furious rebukes. I the LORD have spoken it.
5:16 ϴ Ϸ Ͽ
Ƿϴ ̶
5:16 When I send on you the evil arrows of disease, causing destruction, which I will
send to put an end to you; and, further, I will take away your necessary food.
5:16 When I shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine, which shall be
for their destruction, and which I will send to destroy you: and I will increase
the famine upon you, and will break your staff of bread:
5:17 ٰ ܷӰ ϰ ¿
ϰ ϰ Į ϰ ϸ ȣ ̴϶
5:17 And I will send on you need of food and evil beasts, and they will be a cause of
loss to you; and disease and violent death will go through you; and I will send
the sword on you: I the Lord have said it.
5:17 So will I send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave
you: and pestilence and blood shall pass through you; and I will bring the sword
upon you. I the LORD have spoken it.
6:1 ȣ Ͽ
6:1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
6:1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
6:2 ھ ʴ ̽ Ͽ 鿡 Ͽ
6:2 Son of man, let your face be turned to the mountains of Israel, and be a prophet
to them, and say,
6:2 Son of man, set your face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy
against them,
6:3 ̸⸦ ̽ ȣ ȣͲ
ó ¥⸦ Ͽ Ͻñ⸦ Į ϰ
Ͽ ϸ
6:3 You mountains of Israel, give ear to the words of the Lord: this is what the Lord
has said to the mountains and the hills, to the waterways and the valleys: See,
I, even I, am sending on you a sword for the destruction of your high places.
6:3 And say, All of you mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD;
Thus says the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and
to the valleys; Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy
your high places.
6:4 Ȳϰ ¾ ĵ ̸ ߿
Ͽ տ 巯 ̶
6:4 And your altars will be made waste, and your sun-images will be broken: and I will
have your dead men placed before your images.
6:4 And your altars shall be desolate, and your images shall be broken: and
I will cast down your slain men before your idols.
6:5 ̽ ڼ ü տ θ ذ 濡
6:5 And I will put the dead bodies of the children of Israel in front of their images,
sending your bones in all directions about your altars.
6:5 And I will lay the dead carcasses of the children of Israel before their
idols; and I will scatter your bones round about your altars.
6:6 ϴ 縷 Ǹ Ȳϰ ϸ ̴

6:6 In all your living-places the towns will become broken walls, and the high places
made waste; so that your altars may be broken down and made waste, and your images
broken and ended, and so that your sun-images may be cut down and your works rubbed
out.
6:6 In all your dwelling places the cities shall be laid waste, and the high
places shall be desolate; that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate,
and your idols may be broken and cease, and your images may be cut down, and
your works may be abolished.
6:7 ߿ Ͽ 巯 Ͽ ȣ
˰ Ϸ ̴϶
6:7 And the dead will be falling down among you, and you will be certain that I am the
Lord.
6:7 And the slain shall fall in the midst of you, and all of you shall know
that I am the LORD.
6:8 濡 ߿ Į Ͽ ̹
߿ ִ ڰ ְ
6:8 But still, I will keep a small band safe from the sword among the nations, when
you are sent wandering among the countries.
6:8 Yet will I leave a remnant, that all of you may have some that shall
escape the sword among the nations, when all of you shall be scattered through
the countries.
6:9 ڰ ̹ ߿ ־ ϵ
ٽ ϰ
źϸ ̴ Ϸ Ͽ̶
6:9 And those of you who are kept safe will have me in mind among the nations where
they have been taken away as prisoners, how I sent punishment on their hearts which
were untrue to me, and on their eyes which were turned to their false gods: and
they will be full of hate for themselves because of the evil things which they have
done in all their disgusting ways.
6:9 And they that escape of you shall remember me among the nations where
they shall be carried captives, because I am broken with their whorish heart,
which has departed from me, and with their eyes, which go a whoring after their
idols: and they shall loathe themselves for the evils which they have committed
in all their abominations.
6:10 ȣ ˸ ̷ 鿡 ڴ
ƴϴ϶
6:10 And they will be certain that I am the Lord: not for nothing did I say that I would
do this evil to them.
6:10 And they shall know that I am the LORD, and that I have not said in
vain that I would do this evil unto them.
6:11 ȣͲ ʴ ջ ġ ȣ
̽ ϹǷ ʰ Į ٰ ¿ ϵ
6:11 This is what the Lord has said: Give blows with your hand, stamping with your foot,
and say, O sorrow! because of all the evil and disgusting ways of the children of
Israel: for death will overtake them by the sword and through need of food and by
disease.
6:11 Thus says the Lord GOD; Strike with yours hand, and stamp with your
foot, and say, Alas for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel! for
they shall fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence.
6:12 ִ ڴ ¿ װ ִ ڴ Į 巯 ־
ڴ ٿ ̰ 븦 鿡 ̷
6:12 He who is far away will come to his death by disease; he who is near will be put
to the sword; he who is shut up will come to his death through need of food; and
I will give full effect to my passion against them.
6:12 He that is far off shall die of the pestilence; and he that is near
shall fall by the sword; and he that remains and is besieged shall die by the
famine: thus will I accomplish my fury upon them.
6:13 ü ̿, 濡, ,

ȣ ˸
6:13 And you will be certain that I am the Lord, when their dead men are stretched among
their images round about their altars on every high hill, on all the tops of the
mountains, and under every branching tree, and under every thick oak-tree, the places
where they made sweet smells to all their images.
6:13 Then shall all of you know that I am the LORD, when their slain men
shall be among their idols round about their altars, upon every high hill, in
all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under every thick
oak, the place where they did offer sweet savour to all their idols.
6:14 켭 ϴ ߿
óϰ Ȳϰ ϸ ȣ ˸
6:14 And my hand will be stretched out against them, making the land waste and unpeopled,
from the waste land to Riblah, through all their living-places: and they will be
certain that I am the Lord.
6:14 So will I stretch out my hand upon them, and make the land desolate,
yea, more desolate than the wilderness toward Diblath, in all their habitations:
and they shall know that I am the LORD.
7:1 ȣ Ͽ
7:1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
7:1 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
7:2 ھ ȣ ̽ Ͽ ϳ
7:2 And you, son of man, say, This is what the Lord has said to the land of Israel:
An end has come, the end has come on the four quarters of the land.
7:2 Also, you son of man, thus says the Lord GOD unto the land of Israel;
An end, the end has come upon the four corners of the land.
7:3 װ ̸ 븦 װ Ͽ ϰ
ϸ
7:3 Now the end has come on you, and I will send my wrath on you, judging you for your
ways, I will send punishment on you for all your disgusting acts.
7:3 Now is the end come upon you, and I will send mine anger upon you, and
will judge you according to your ways, and will recompense upon you all yours
abominations.
7:4 ʸ Ʋ ƴϸ ƴϰ ʸ
Ͽ ߿ Ÿ ϸ ȣ ˸
7:4 My eye will not have mercy on you, and I will have no pity: but I will send the
punishment of your ways on you, and your disgusting works will be among you: and
you will be certain that I am the Lord.
7:4 And mine eye shall not spare you, neither will I have pity: but I will
recompense your ways upon you, and yours abominations shall be in the midst
of you: and all of you shall know that I am the LORD.
7:5 ȣͲ ̷δ ̷δ, ӹϵ
7:5 This is what the Lord has said: An evil, even one evil; see, it is coming.
7:5 Thus says the Lord GOD; An evil, an only evil, behold, has come.
7:6 , , ʸ ġ Ͼ ӹϵ
7:6 An end has come, the end has come; see, it is coming on you.
7:6 An end has come, the end has come: it watches for you; behold, it has
come.
7:7 Źξ װ ϵ ̸
̿ 꿡 θ ƴϷδ
7:7 The crowning time has come on you, O people of the land: the time has come, the
day is near; the day will not be slow in coming, it will not keep back.
7:7 The morning has come unto you, O you that dwell in the land: the time
has come, the day of trouble is near, and not the sounding again of the mountains.
7:8 װ 븦 װ ̷ ʸ
Ͽ װ ϵ
7:8 Now, in a little time, I will let loose my passion on you, and give full effect
to my wrath against you, judging you for your ways, and sending punishment on you
for all your disgusting works.
7:8 Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon you, and accomplish mine anger
upon you: and I will judge you according to your ways, and will recompense you
for all yours abominations.
7:9 ʸ Ʋ ƴϸ ƴϰ ʸ
Ͽ ߿ Ÿ ϸ ȣͰ ġ װ

7:9 My eye will not have mercy, and I will have no pity: I will send on you the punishment
of your ways, and your disgusting works will be among you; and you will see that
I am the Lord who gives punishment.
7:9 And mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: I will recompense
you according to your ways and yours abominations that are in the midst of you;
and all of you shall know that I am the LORD that strikes.
7:10 ̷δ ӹϵ ̸ ̰

7:10 See, the day; see, it is coming: the crowning time has gone out; the twisted way
is flowering, pride has put out buds.
7:10 Behold the day, behold, it has come: the morning is gone forth; the
rod has blossomed, pride has budded.
7:11 Ͼ ˾ ̰ Ǿ 鵵, , 繰
ϳ ƴϰ Ƹٿ ͵ δ
7:11 Violent behaviour has been lifted up into a rod of evil; it will not be slow in
coming, it will not keep back.
7:11 Violence has risen up into a rod of wickedness: none of them shall remain,
nor of their multitude, nor of any of their's: neither shall there be wailing
for them.
7:12 ̸ ڵ Ĵ ڵ ٽ
밡 ̷δ
7:12 The time has come, the day is near: let not him who gives a price for goods be glad,
or him who gets the price have sorrow:
7:12 The time has come, the day draws near: let not the buyer rejoice, nor
the seller mourn: for wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.
7:13 ڰ ִ ٽ ư ϸ ̴

ϰ ڵ Ͽ̷δ
7:13 For the trader will not go back to the things for which he had his price, even while
he is still living:
7:13 For the seller shall not return to that which is sold, although they
were yet alive: for the vision is concerning the whole multitude thereof, which
shall not return; neither shall any strengthen himself in the iniquity of his
life.
7:14 Ҿ ° Ͽ £
̴ 밡 ̶
7:14 And he who has given a price for goods will not get them, for my wrath is on all
of them.
7:14 They have blown the trumpet, even to make all ready; but none goes to
the battle: for my wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.
7:15 ۿ Į ְ ȿ ¿ ־ 翡 ִ ڴ Į
̿ ִ ڴ ٰ ¿ ̸
7:15 Outside is the sword, and inside disease and need of food: he who is in the open
country will be put to the sword; he who is in the town will come to his end through
need of food and disease.
7:15 The sword is without, and the pestilence and the famine within: he that
is in the field shall die with the sword; and he that is in the city, famine
and pestilence shall devour him.
7:16 ϴ ڴ Ͽ ڱ ˾ ߿ ¥ ѱó
̸
7:16 And those of them who get away safely will go and be in the secret places like the
doves of the valleys, all of them will come to death, every one in his sin.
7:16 But they that escape of them shall escape, and shall be on the mountains
like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, every one for his iniquity.
7:17 ǰϰ ̶
7:17 All hands will be feeble and all knees without strength, like water.
7:17 All hands shall be feeble, and all knees shall be weak as water.
7:18 㸮 ̿ η ̿
ġ ְ Ӹ Ӹ ̸
7:18 And they will put haircloth round them, and deep fear will be covering them; and
shame will be on all faces, and the hair gone from all their heads.
7:18 They shall also gird themselves with sackcloth, and horror shall cover
them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads.
7:19 Ÿ ⸮ ̴ ȣ
븦 Ǫ ϸ ɷ
ϰ ϰų âڸ ä ϰ ˾ǿ ġ ̷δ
7:19 They will put out their silver into the streets, and their gold will be as an unclean
thing; their silver and their gold will not be able to keep them safe in the day
of the wrath of the Lord; they will not get their desire or have food for their
need: because it has been the cause of their falling into sin.
7:19 They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be
removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the
day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill
their bowels: because it is the stumbling block of their iniquity.
7:20 ȭ Ͽ ǰ װ
̿ װ 鿡 ǰ Ͽ
7:20 As for their beautiful ornament, they had put it on high, and had made the images
of their disgusting and hated things in it: for this cause I have made it an unclean
thing to them.
7:20 As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty: but they made
the images of their abominations and of their detestable things therein: therefore
have I set it far from them.
7:21 տ ٿ 뷫ϰ ϸ ο ٿ ŻϿ
ϰ
7:21 And I will give it into the hands of men from strange lands who will take it by
force, and to the evil-doers of the earth to have for themselves; and they will
make it unholy.
7:21 And I will give it into the hands of the strangers for a prey, and to
the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall pollute it.
7:22 鿡Լ Ű óҸ
ڵ ű ͼ
7:22 And my face will be turned away from them, and they will make my secret place unholy:
violent men will go into it and make it unholy.
7:22 My face will I turn also from them, and they shall pollute my secret
place: for the robbers shall enter into it, and defile it.
7:23 ʴ 罽 ̴ 긮 ˰ ϰ

7:23 Make the chain: for the land is full of crimes of blood, and the town is full of
violent acts.
7:23 Make a chain: for the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is
full of violence.
7:24 ̹ ̸ ϰ ϰ
ġ ϸ Ұ ϸ
7:24 For this reason I will send the worst of the nations and they will take their houses
for themselves: I will make the pride of their strength come to an end; and their
holy places will be made unclean.
7:24 Wherefore I will bring the worst of the heathen, and they shall possess
their houses: I will also make the pomp of the strong to cease; and their holy
places shall be defiled.
7:25 и ̸ Ͽ ̶
7:25 Shaking fear is coming; and they will be looking for peace, and there will be no
peace.
7:25 Destruction comes; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.
7:26 ȯ ȯ ϰ ҹ ҹ ڿ ø
ϳ ̸ 忡Դ ̿ οԴ
̸
7:26 Destruction will come on destruction, and one story after another; and the vision
of the prophet will be shamed, and knowledge of the law will come to an end among
the priests, and wisdom among the old.
7:26 Mischief shall come upon mischief, and rumour shall be upon rumour;
then shall they seek a vision of the prophet; but the law shall perish from
the priest, and counsel from the ancients.
7:27 ϰ Ե ϸ Ź
鿡 ˾Ǵ ȣ ˸
7:27 The king will give himself up to sorrow, and the ruler will be clothed with wonder,
and the hands of the people of the land will be troubled: I will give them punishment
for their ways, judging them as it is right for them to be judged; and they will
be certain that I am the Lord.
7:27 The king shall mourn, and the prince shall be clothed with desolation,
and the hands of the people of the land shall be troubled: I will do unto them
after their way, and according to their deserts will I judge them; and they
shall know that I am the LORD.

8:1 Now in the sixth year, in the sixth month, on the fifth day of the month, when I
was in my house and the responsible men of Judah were seated before me, the hand
of the Lord came on me there.
8:1 And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth
day of the month, as I sat in mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before
me, that the hand of the Lord GOD fell there upon me.
8:2 ־ 㸮 㸮 ̻

8:2 And looking, I saw a form like fire; from the middle of his body and down there
was fire: and up from the middle of his body a sort of shining, like electrum.
8:2 Then I beheld, and lo a likeness as the appearance of fire: from the
appearance of his loins even downward, fire; and from his loins even upward,
as the appearance of brightness, as the colour of amber.
8:3 װ 켭 Ӹ

̸ô ű ⸦ ݹ ϴ

8:3 And he put out the form of a hand and took me by the hair of my head; and the wind,
lifting me up between the earth and the heaven, took me in the visions of God to
Jerusalem, to the way into the inner door facing to the north; where was the seat
of the image of envy.
8:3 And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head;
and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me
in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looks
toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provokes
to jealousy.
8:4 ̽ ϳ ű ִµ 鿡 ̻
8:4 And I saw the glory of the Lord there, as in the vision which I saw in the valley.
8:4 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the
vision that I saw in the plain.
8:5 װ ̸õ ھ ʴ ٶ Ͻñ
ٶ ִ
8:5 Then he said to me, Son of man, now let your eyes be lifted up in the direction
of the north; and on looking in the direction of the north, to the north of the
doorway of the altar, I saw this image of envy by the way in.
8:5 Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up yours eyes now the way toward
the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold northward
at the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.
8:6 װ ̸õ ھ ̽ ϴ

8:6 And he said to me, Son of man, do you see what they are doing? even the very disgusting
things which the children of Israel are doing here, causing me to go far away from
my holy place? but you will see other most disgusting things.
8:6 He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, see you what they do? even the
great abominations that the house of Israel commits here, that I should go far
off from my sanctuary? but turn you yet again, and you shall see greater abominations.

8:7 And he took me to the door of the open place; and looking, I saw a hole in the wall.
8:7 And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold
a hole in the wall.
8:8 װ ̸õ ھ ʴ Ͻñ

8:8 And he said to me, Son of man, make a hole in the wall: and after making a hole
in the wall I saw a door.
8:8 Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had
dug in the wall, behold a door.

8:9 And he said to me, Go in and see the evil and disgusting things which they are doing
here.
8:9 And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they
do here.

8:10 So I went in and saw; and there every sort of living thing which goes flat on the
earth, and unclean beasts, and all the images of the children of Israel, were pictured
round about on the wall.
8:10 So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and
abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed upon
the wall round about.
8:11 ̽ ĥ տ Ƶ ߾ƻĵ

8:11 And before them seventy of the responsible men of the children of Israel had taken
their places, every man with a vessel for burning perfumes in his hand, and in the
middle of them was Jaazaniah, the son of Shaphan; and a cloud of smoke went up from
the burning perfume.
8:11 And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house
of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with
every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.
8:12 ̸õ ھ ̽ ε

8:12 And he said to me, Son of man, have you seen what the responsible men of the children
of Israel do in the dark, every man in his room of pictured images? for they say,
The Lord does not see us; the Lord has gone away from the land.
8:12 Then said he unto me, Son of man, have you seen what the ancients of
the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery?
for they say, the LORD sees us not; the LORD has forsaken the earth.
8:13 ̸õ ʴ ٽ ϴ ٸ ū

8:13 Then he said to me, You will see even more disgusting things which they do.
8:13 He said also unto me, Turn you yet again, and you shall see greater
abominations that they do.
8:14 װ ȣ Ϲ ̸ñ

8:14 Then he took me to the door of the way into the Lord's house looking to the north;
and there women were seated weeping for Tammuz.
8:14 Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD's house which
was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.
8:15 װ ̸õ ھ װ װ Ҵ ʴ ̺

8:15 Then he said to me, Have you seen this, O son of man? you will see even more disgusting
things than these.
8:15 Then said he unto me, Have you seen this, O son of man? turn you yet
again, and you shall see greater abominations than these.

8:16 And he took me into the inner square of the Lord's house, and at the door of the
Temple of the Lord, between the covered way and the altar, there were about twenty-five
men with their backs turned to the Temple of the Lord and their faces turned to
the east; and they were worshipping the sun, turning to the east.
8:16 And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD's house, and, behold,
at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were
about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and
their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.
8:17 ̸õ ھ װ Ҵ ⼭

8:17 Then he said to me, Have you seen this, O son of man? is it a small thing to the
children of Judah that they do the disgusting things which they are doing here?
for they have made the land full of violent behaviour, making me angry again and
again: and see, they put the branch to my nose.
8:17 Then he said unto me, Have you seen this, O son of man? Is it a light
thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit
here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke
me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.
8:18 Ƿ г Ʋ ƴϰ Ǯ ƴϸ

8:18 For this reason I will let loose my wrath: my eye will not have mercy, and I will
have no pity.
8:18 Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither
will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will
I not hear them.

9:1 Then crying out in my hearing in a loud voice, he said, Let the overseers of the
town come near, every man armed.
9:1 He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that
have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon
in his hand.

9:2 And six men came from the way of the higher doorway looking to the north, every
man with his axe in his hand: and one man among them was clothed in linen, with
a writer's inkpot at his side. And they went in and took their places by the brass
altar.
9:2 And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lies
toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man
among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's ink holder by his side: and
they went in, and stood beside the brazen altar.
9:3 쿡 ӹ ִ ̽ ϳ ö 濡 ̸
ȣͲ ҷ
9:3 And the glory of the God of Israel had gone up from the winged ones on which it
was resting, to the doorstep of the house. And crying out to the man clothed in
linen who had the writer's inkpot at his side,
9:3 And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon
he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with
linen, which had the writer's ink holder by his side;
9:4 ̸õ ʴ 췽 ߿ Ͽ ϴ

9:4 The Lord said to him, Go through the town, through the middle of Jerusalem, and
put a mark on the brows of the men who are sorrowing and crying for all the disgusting
things which are done in it.
9:4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through
the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh
and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.
9:5 µ ڿ ̸õ ڸ ߿

9:5 And to these he said in my hearing, Go through the town after him using your axes:
do not let your eyes have mercy, and have no pity:
9:5 And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go all of you after him through
the city, and strike: let not your eye spare, neither have all of you pity:
9:6 ڿ ڿ ó ̿ γฦ ̵ ̸ ǥ ִ

ڵκ ϴ
9:6 Give up to destruction old men and young men and virgins, little children and women:
but do not come near any man who has the mark on him: and make a start at my holy
place. So they made a start with the old men who were before the house.
9:6 Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women:
but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary.
Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.
9:7 װ 鿡 ̸õ ü 㿡 ä

9:7 And he said to them, Make the house unclean, make the open places full of dead:
go forward and send destruction on the town.
9:7 And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the
slain: go all of you forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.
9:8 ĥ Ȧ ִ 帮 θ¢ ε ȣ

9:8 Now while they were doing so, and I was untouched, I went down on my face, and crying
out, I said, Ah, Lord! will you give all the rest of Israel to destruction in letting
loose your wrath on Jerusalem?
9:8 And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that
I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! will you destroy all
the residue of Israel in your pouring out of your fury upon Jerusalem?
9:9 װ ̸õ ̽ ˾ Ͽ

9:9 Then he said to me, The sin of the children of Israel and Judah is very, very great,
and the land is full of blood and the town full of evil ways: for they say, The
Lord has gone away from the land, and the Lord does not see.
9:9 Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is
exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness:
for they say, The LORD has forsaken the earth, and the LORD sees not.
9:10 Ƿ Ʋ ƴϸ Ǯ ƴϰ

9:10 And as for me, my eye will not have mercy, and I will have no pity, but I will send
the punishment of their ways on their heads.
9:10 And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity,
but I will recompense their way upon their head.
9:11 㸮 Ͽ ε ֲ

9:11 Then the man clothed in linen, who had the inkpot at his side, came back and said,
I have done what you gave me orders to do.
9:11 And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the ink holder by
his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as you have commanded me.
10:1 ̿ Ӹ â Ÿµ
10:1 Then looking, I saw that on the arch which was over the head of the winged ones
there was seen over them what seemed like a sapphire stone, having the form of a
king's seat.
10:1 Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament that was above the head
of the cherubims there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the
appearance of the likeness of a throne.
10:2 ϳ Ϸ ʴ ̷

10:2 And he said to the man clothed in linen, Go in between the wheels, under the winged
ones, and get your two hands full of burning coals from between the winged ones
and send them in a shower over the town. And he went in before my eyes.
10:2 And he spoke unto the man clothed with linen, and said, Go in between
the wheels, even under the cherub, and fill yours hand with coals of fire from
between the cherubims, and scatter them over the city. And he went in in my
sight.
10:3 ȶ㿡 ϸ
10:3 Now the winged ones were stationed on the right side of the house when the man went
in; and the inner square was full of the cloud.
10:3 Now the cherubims stood on the right side of the house, when the man
went in; and the cloud filled the inner court.
10:4 ȣ 쿡 ö 濡 ϴ ϸ
ȣ ȭο ä 㿡 Ͽ
10:4 And the glory of the Lord went up from the winged ones and came to rest over the
doorstep of the house; and the house was full of the cloud and the open square was
full of the shining of the Lord's glory.
10:4 Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, and stood over the
threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court
was full of the brightness of the LORD's glory.
10:5 Ҹ ٱ 鸮µ Ͻ ϳ Ͻô
10:5 And the sound of the wings of the winged ones was clear even in the outer square,
like the voice of the Ruler of all.
10:5 And the sound of the cherubims' wings was heard even to the outer court,
as the voice of the Almighty God when he speaks.
10:6 ϳ ڿ Ͻñ⸦ ̿
϶ ϼǷ װ
10:6 And when he gave orders to the man clothed in linen, saying, Take fire from between
the wheels, from between the winged ones, then he went in and took his place at
the side of a wheel.
10:6 And it came to pass, that when he had commanded the man clothed with
linen, saying, Take fire from between the wheels, from between the cherubims;
then he went in, and stood beside the wheels.
10:7 ̿ о ̿ ִ Ͽ

10:7 And stretching out his hand to the fire which was between the winged ones, he took
some of it and went out.
10:7 And one cherub stretched forth his hand from between the cherubims unto
the fire that was between the cherubims, and took thereof, and put it into the
hands of him that was clothed with linen: who took it, and went out.
10:8 ؿ Ÿ
10:8 And I saw the form of a man's hands among the winged ones under their wings.
10:8 And there appeared in the cherubims the form of a man's hand under their
wings.
10:9 翡 ִµ 翡 ְ

10:9 And looking, I saw four wheels by the side of the winged ones, one wheel by the
side of a winged one and another wheel by the side of another: and the wheels were
like the colour of a beryl stone to the eye.
10:9 And when I looked, behold the four wheels by the cherubims, one wheel
by one cherub, and another wheel by another cherub: and the appearance of the
wheels was as the colour of a beryl stone.
10:10 Ѱ ġ ȿ ִ
10:10 In form the four of them were all the same, they seemed like a wheel inside a wheel.
10:10 And as for their appearances, they four had one likeness, as if a wheel
had been in the midst of a wheel.
10:11 Ű ʰ ϵ Ű

10:11 When they were moving, they went on their four sides without turning; they went
after the head in the direction in which it was looking; they went without turning.
10:11 When they went, they went upon their four sides; they turned not as
they went, but to the place where the head looked they followed it; they turned
not as they went.

10:12 And the edges of the four wheels were full of eyes round about.
10:12 And their whole body, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings,
and the wheels, were full of eyes round about, even the wheels that they four
had.
10:13 ̶ Īϸ
10:13 As for the wheels, they were named in my hearing, the circling wheels.
10:13 As for the wheels, it was cried unto them in my hearing, O wheel.
10:14 ִµ ù ̿ °

10:14 And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a winged one, and the
second was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the
face of an eagle.
10:14 And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub,
and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion,
and the fourth the face of an eagle.
10:15 ö ̶
10:15 And the winged ones went up on high: this is the living being which I saw by the
river Chebar.
10:15 And the cherubims were lifted up. This is the living creature that
I saw by the river of Chebar.
10:16 翡 ϰ

10:16 And when the winged ones went, the wheels went by their side: and when their wings
were lifted to take them up from the earth, the wheels were not turned from their
side.
10:16 And when the cherubims went, the wheels went by them: and when the
cherubims lifted up their wings to mount up from the earth, the same wheels
also turned not from beside them.
10:17 ̵鵵 ö ̵鵵 Բ ö ̴

10:17 When they were at rest in their place, these were at rest; when they were lifted
up, these went up with them: for the spirit of life was in them.
10:17 When they stood, these stood; and when they were lifted up, these lifted
up themselves also: for the spirit of the living creature was in them.
10:18 ȣ ӹ
10:18 Then the glory of the Lord went out from the doorstep of the house, and came to
rest over the winged ones.
10:18 Then the glory of the LORD departed from off the threshold of the house,
and stood over the cherubims.

10:19 And the winged ones, lifting up their wings, went up from the earth before my eyes,
with the wheels by their side: and they came to rest at the east doorway of the
Lord's house; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them on high.
10:19 And the cherubims lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth
in my sight: when they went out, the wheels also were beside them, and every
one stood at the door of the east gate of the LORD's house; and the glory of
the God of Israel was over them above.
10:20 װ ̽ ϳ Ʒ ִ ̶

10:20 This is the living being which I saw under the God of Israel by the river Chebar;
and it was clear to me that they were the winged ones.
10:20 This is the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the
river of Chebar; and I knew that they were the cherubims.
10:21 ؿ
10:21 Every one had four faces and every one had four wings; and hands like a man's hands
were under their wings.
10:21 Every one had four faces apiece, and every one four wings; and the
likeness of the hands of a man was under their wings.
10:22 ̸ ̵

10:22 As for the form of their faces, they were the faces whose form I saw by the river
Chebar; when they went, every one of them went straight forward.
10:22 And the likeness of their faces was the same faces which I saw by the
river of Chebar, their appearances and themselves: they went every one straight
forward.
