1:1 The words of Amos, who was among the herdsmen of Tekoa; what he saw about Israel
in the days of Uzziah, king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam, the son of Joash,
king of Israel, two years before the earth-shock.
1:1 The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning
Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the
son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

1:2 And he said, The Lord will give a lion's cry from Zion, his voice will be sounding
from Jerusalem; and the fields of the keepers of sheep will become dry, and the
top of Carmel will be wasted away.
1:2 And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem;
and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall
wither.

1:3 These are the words of the Lord: For three crimes of Damascus, and for four, I will
not let its fate be changed; because they have been crushing Gilead with iron grain-crushing
instruments.
1:3 Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four,
I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead
with threshing instruments of iron:

1:4 And I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, burning up the great houses of
Ben-hadad.
1:4 But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the
palaces of Benhadad.

1:5 And I will have the locks of the door of Damascus broken, and him who is seated
in power cut off from the valley of Aven, and him in whose hand is the rod from
the house of Eden; and the people of Aram will go away as prisoners into Kir, says
the Lord.
1:5 I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from
the plain of Aven, and him that holds the sceptre from the house of Eden: and
the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, says the LORD.

1:6 These are the words of the Lord: For three crimes of Gaza, and for four, I will
not let its fate be changed; because they took all the people away prisoners, to
give them up to Edom.
1:6 Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I
will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive
the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom:
1:7 ³»°¡ °¡»ç ¼º¿¡ ºÒÀ» º¸³»¸®´Ï ±× ±Ã±ÈµéÀ» »ç¸£¸®¶ó
1:7 And I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, burning up its great houses:
1:7 But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces
thereof:

1:8 Him who is seated in power I will have cut off from Ashdod, and him in whose hand
is the rod from Ashkelon; and my hand will be turned against Ekron, and the rest
of the Philistines will come to destruction, says the Lord God.
1:8 And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holds the
sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant
of the Philistines shall perish, says the Lord GOD.

1:9 These are the words of the Lord: For three crimes of Tyre, and for four, I will
not let its fate be changed; because they gave up all the people prisoners to Edom,
without giving a thought to the brothers' agreement between them.
1:9 Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four,
I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole
captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:

1:11 These are the words of the Lord: For three crimes of Edom, and for four, I will
not let its fate be changed; because his sword was turned against his brother, without
pity, and his wrath was burning at all times, and he was angry for ever.
1:11 Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four,
I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother
with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually,
and he kept his wrath for ever:

1:12 And I will send a fire on Teman, burning up the great houses of Bozrah.

1:13 These are the words of the Lord: For three crimes of the children of Ammon, and
for four, I will not let its fate be changed; because in Gilead they had women with
child cut open, so that they might make wider the limits of their land.
1:13 Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon,
and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have
ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:

1:14 And I will make a fire in the wall of Rabbah, burning up its great houses, with
loud cries in the days of war, with a storm in the day of the great wind:
1:14 But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour
the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the
day of the whirlwind:
1:15 ÀúÈñÀÇ ¿ÕÀº ±× ¹æ¹éµé°ú ÇÔ²² »ç·ÎÀâÇô °¡¸®¶ó ÀÌ´Â ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸»¾¸À̴϶ó
1:15 And their king will be made prisoner, he and his captains together, says the Lord.
1:15 And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together,
says the LORD.
2:1 ¿©È£¿Í²²¼ °¡¶ó»ç´ë ¸ð¾ÐÀÇ ¼³Ê °¡Áö ÁË·Î ÀÎÇÏ¿© ³»°¡ ±× ¹úÀ» µ¹ÀÌÅ°Áö

2:1 These are the words of the Lord: For three crimes of Moab, and for four, I will
not let its fate be changed; because he had the bones of the king of Edom burned
to dust.
2:1 Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I
will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he burned the bones of the
king of Edom into lime:
2:2 ³»°¡ ¸ð¾Ð¿¡ ºÒÀ» º¸³»¸®´Ï ±×¸®¿ê ±Ã±ÈµéÀ» »ç¸£¸®¶ó ¸ð¾ÐÀÌ ¿ä¶õÇÔ°ú ¿Üħ°ú

2:2 And I will send a fire on Moab, burning up the great houses of Kerioth: and death
will come on Moab with noise and outcries and the sound of the horn:
2:2 But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of
Kirioth: and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of
the trumpet:

2:3 And I will have the judge cut off from among them, and all their captains I will
put to death with him, says the Lord.
2:3 And I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all
the princes thereof with him, says the LORD.
2:4 ¡Û ¿©È£¿Í²²¼ °¡¶ó»ç´ë À¯´ÙÀÇ ¼³Ê °¡Áö ÁË·Î ÀÎÇÏ¿© ³»°¡ ±× ¹úÀ» µ¹ÀÌÅ°Áö

2:4 These are the words of the Lord: For three crimes of Judah, and for four, I will
not let its fate be changed; because they have given up the law of the Lord, and
have not kept his rules; and their false ways, in which their fathers went, have
made them go out of the right way.
2:4 Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four,
I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have despised the
law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them
to go astray, after the which their fathers have walked:
2:5 ³»°¡ À¯´Ù¿¡ ºÒÀ» º¸³»¸®´Ï ¿¹·ç»ì·½ÀÇ ±Ã±ÈµéÀ» »ç¸£¸®¶ó
2:5 And I will send a fire on Judah, burning up the great houses of Jerusalem.
2:5 But I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of
Jerusalem.

2:6 These are the words of the Lord: For three crimes of Israel, and for four, I will
not let its fate be changed; because they have given the upright man for silver,
and the poor for the price of two shoes;
2:6 Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four,
I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they sold the righteous
for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes;
2:7 °¡³ÇÑ ÀÚÀÇ ¸Ó¸®¿¡ Àִ Ƽ²øÀ» Ž³»¸ç °â¼ÕÇÑ ÀÚÀÇ ±æÀ» ±Á°Ô ÇÏ¸ç ºÎÀÚ°¡
ÇÑ ÀþÀº ¿©Àο¡°Ô ´Ù³à¼ ³ªÀÇ °Å·èÇÑ À̸§À» ´õ·´È÷¸ç
2:7 Crushing the head of the poor, and turning the steps of the gentle out of the way:
and a man and his father go in to the same young woman, putting shame on my holy
name:
2:7 That pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn
aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go in unto the same
maid, to profane my holy name:
2:8 ¸ðµç ´Ü ¿·¿¡¼ Àü´ç ÀâÀº ¿Ê À§¿¡ ´©¿ì¸ç ÀúÈñ ½ÅÀÇ Àü¿¡¼ ¹ú±ÝÀ¸·Î ¾òÀº

2:8 By every altar they are stretched on clothing taken from those who are in their
debt, drinking in the house of their god the wine of those who have made payment
for wrongdoing.
2:8 And they lay themselves down upon clothes laid to pledge by every altar,
and they drink the wine of the condemned in the house of their god.
2:9 ¡Û ³»°¡ ¾Æ¸ð¸® »ç¶÷À» ÀúÈñ ¾Õ¿¡¼ ¸êÇÏ¿´³ª´Ï ±× Å°´Â ¹éÇâ¸ñ ³ôÀÌ¿Í °°°í
°Çϱâ´Â »ó¼ö¸®³ª¹« °°À¸³ª ³»°¡ ±× À§ÀÇ ¿¸Å¿Í ±× ¾Æ·¡ÀÇ »Ñ¸®¸¦ Áø¸êÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ¿´´À³Ä
2:9 Though I sent destruction on the Amorite before them, who was tall as the cedar
and strong as the oak-tree, cutting off his fruit from on high and his roots from
under the earth.
2:9 Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height
of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from
above, and his roots from beneath.
2:10 ³»°¡ ³ÊÈñ¸¦ ¾Ö±Á ¶¥¿¡¼ À̲ø¾î ³»¾î »ç½Ê ³â µ¿¾È ±¤¾ß¿¡¼ ÀεµÇÏ°í ¾Æ¸ð¸®
»ç¶÷ÀÇ ¶¥À» ³ÊÈñ·Î Â÷ÁöÇÏ°Ô ÇÏ¿´°í
2:10 And I took you up out of the land of Egypt, guiding you for forty years in the waste
land, so that you might take for your heritage the land of the Amorite.
2:10 Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years
through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.
2:11 ¶Ç ³ÊÈñ ¾Æµé Áß¿¡¼ ¼±ÁöÀÚ¸¦, ³ÊÈñ û³â Áß¿¡¼ ³ª½Ã¸£ »ç¶÷À» ÀÏÀ¸Ä׳ª´Ï
À̽º¶ó¿¤ ÀÚ¼Õµé¾Æ °ú¿¬ ±×·¸Áö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ³Ä ÀÌ´Â ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸»¾¸À̴϶ó
2:11 And some of your sons I made prophets, and some of your young men I made separate
for myself. Is it not even so, O children of Israel? says the Lord.
2:11 And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for
Nazarites. Is it not even thus, O all of you children of Israel? says the LORD.
2:12 ±×·¯³ª ³ÊÈñ°¡ ³ª½Ã¸£ »ç¶÷À¸·Î Æ÷µµÁÖ¸¦ ¸¶½Ã°Ô ÇÏ¸ç ¶Ç ¼±ÁöÀÚ¿¡°Ô ¸íÇÏ¿©

2:12 But to those who were separate you gave wine for drink; and to the prophets you
said, Be prophets no longer.
2:12 But all of you gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets,
saying, Prophesy not.
2:13 ¡Û °î½Ä ´ÜÀ» °¡µæÈ÷ ½ÇÀº ¼ö·¹°¡ ÈëÀ» ´©¸§ °°ÀÌ ³»°¡ ³ÊÈñ ÀÚ¸®¿¡ ³ÊÈñ¸¦

2:13 See, I am crushing you down, as one is crushed under a cart full of grain.
2:13 Behold, I am pressed under you, as a cart is pressed that is full of
sheaves.
2:14 »¡¸® ´ÞÀ½¹ÚÁúÇÏ´Â ÀÚµµ µµ¸ÁÇÒ ¼ö ¾øÀ¸¸ç °ÇÑ ÀÚµµ ÀÚ±â ÈûÀ» ³¾ ¼ö ¾øÀ¸¸ç

2:14 And flight will be impossible for the quick-footed, and the force of the strong
will become feeble, and the man of war will not get away safely:
2:14 Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall
not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver himself:

2:15 And the bowman will not keep his place; he who is quick-footed will not get away
safely: and the horseman will not keep his life.
2:15 Neither shall he stand that handles the bow; and he that is swift of
foot shall not deliver himself: neither shall he that rides the horse deliver
himself.
2:16 ¿ë»ç Áß¿¡ ±»¼¾ ÀÚ´Â ±× ³¯¿¡ ¹ú°Å¹þ°í¾ß µµ¸ÁÇϸ®¶ó ÀÌ´Â ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸»¾¸À̴϶ó
2:16 And he who is without fear among the fighting men will go in flight without his
clothing in that day, says the Lord.
2:16 And he that is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in
that day, says the LORD.

3:1 Give ear to this word which the Lord has said against you, O children of Israel,
against all the family which I took up out of the land of Egypt, saying,
3:1 Hear this word that the LORD has spoken against you, O children of Israel,
against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,

3:2 You only of all the families of the earth have I taken care of: for this reason
I will send punishment on you for all your sins.
3:2 You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will
punish you for all your iniquities.

3:3 Is it possible for two to go walking together, if not by agreement?

cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?

3:5 Is it possible for a bird to be taken in a net on the earth where no net has been
put for him? will the net come up from the earth if it has taken nothing at all?
3:5 Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no animal trap is for
him? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all?

3:6 If the horn is sounded in the town will the people not be full of fear? will evil
come on a town if the Lord has not done it?
3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall
there be evil in a city, and the LORD has not done it?

3:7 Certainly the Lord will do nothing without making clear his secret to his servants,
the prophets.
3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he reveals his secret unto his
servants the prophets.

3:8 The cry of the lion is sounding; who will not have fear? The Lord God has said the
word; is it possible for the prophet to keep quiet?
3:8 The lion has roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD has spoken, who
can but prophesy?

3:9 Give out the news in the great houses of Assyria and in the land of Egypt, and say,
Come together on the mountains of Samaria, and see what great outcries are there,
and what cruel acts are done in it.
3:9 Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt,
and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great
tumults in the midst thereof, and the oppressed in the midst thereof.

3:10 For they have no knowledge of how to do what is right, says the Lord, who are storing
up violent acts and destruction in their great houses.

and robbery in their palaces.

3:11 For this reason, says the Lord, an attacker will come, shutting in the land on every
side; and your strength will come down and your great houses will be made waste.
3:11 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; An adversary there shall be even round
about the land; and he shall bring down your strength from you, and your palaces
shall be spoiled.

3:12 These are the words of the Lord: As the keeper of sheep takes out of the mouth of
the lion two legs or part of an ear; so will the children of Israel be made safe,
who are resting in Samaria on seats of honour or on the silk cushions of a bed.
3:12 Thus says the LORD; As the shepherd takes out of the mouth of the lion
two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out
that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch.

him I will also visit the altars of Bethel: and the horns of the altar shall
be cut off, and fall to the ground.

4:1 Give ear to this word, you cows of Bashan, who are in the hill of Samaria, by whom
the poor are kept down, and those in need are crushed; who say to their lords, Get
out the wine and give us drink.

of Samaria, which oppress the poor, which crush the needy, which say to their
masters, Bring, and let us drink.

4:2 The Lord God has taken an oath by his holy name, that the days are coming when they
will take you away with hooks, and the rest of you with fish-hooks.
4:2 The Lord GOD has sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come
upon you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks.

bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes after three years:

4:5 Let that which is leavened be burned as a praise-offering, let the news of your
free offerings be given out publicly; for this is pleasing to you, O children of
Israel, says the Lord.
4:5 And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim and publish
the free offerings: for this likes you, O all of you children of Israel, says
the Lord GOD.

4:6 But in all your towns I have kept food from your teeth, and in all your places there
has been need of bread: and still you have not come back to me, says the Lord.
4:6 And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and
lack of bread in all your places: yet have all of you not returned unto me,
says the LORD.

4:7 And I have kept back the rain from you, when it was still three months before the
grain-cutting: I sent rain on one town and kept it back from another: one part was
rained on, and the part where there was no rain became a waste.
4:7 And also I have withheld the rain from you, when there were yet three
months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it
not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon
it rained not withered.

4:9 I have sent destruction on your fields by burning and disease: the increase of your
gardens and your vine-gardens, your fig-trees and your olive-trees, has been food
for worms: and still you have not come back to me, says the Lord.
4:9 I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your
vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm
devoured them: yet have all of you not returned unto me, says the LORD.

4:10 I have sent disease among you, as it was in Egypt: I have put your young men to
the sword, and have taken away your horses; I have made the evil smell from your
tents come up to your noses: and still you have not come back to me, says the Lord.
4:10 I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your
young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and
I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have

4:11 And I have sent destruction among you, as when God sent destruction on Sodom and
Gomorrah, and you were like a burning stick pulled out of the fire: and still you
have not come back to me, says the Lord.
4:11 I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah,
and all of you were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have all
of you not returned unto me, says the LORD.

his purpose to man, who makes the morning dark, and is walking on the high places
of the earth: the Lord, the God of armies, is his name.
4:13 For, lo, he that forms the mountains, and creates the wind, and declares
unto man what is his thought, that makes the morning darkness, and treads upon
the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.

upon her land; there is none to raise her up.

5:3 For thus says the Lord GOD; The city that went out by a thousand shall
leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to
the house of Israel.

to Beer-sheba: for Gilgal will certainly be taken prisoner, and Beth-el will come
to nothing.
5:5 But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beersheba:
for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nothing.

5:6 Go to the Lord for help so that you may have life; for fear that he may come like
fire bursting out in the family of Joseph, causing destruction, and there will be
no one to put it out in Beth-el.
5:6 Seek the LORD, and all of you shall live; lest he break out like fire
in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel.

5:8 Go for help to him who makes Orion and the Pleiades, by whom the deep dark is turned
into morning, who makes the day black with night; whose voice goes out to the waters
of the sea, sending them out over the face of the earth: the Lord is his name;

death into the morning, and makes the day dark with night: that calls for the

take from him burdens of wheat: all of you have built houses of hewn stone,

the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their
right.

detest the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver

7:4 This is what the Lord let me see: and I saw that the Lord God sent for a great fire
to be the instrument of his punishment; and, after burning up the great deep, it
was about to put an end to the Lord's heritage.
7:4 Thus has the Lord GOD showed unto me: and, behold, the Lord GOD called
to contend by fire, and it devoured the great deep, and did eat up a part.

7:7 This is what he let me see: and I saw the Lord stationed by a wall made straight
by a weighted line, and he had a weighted line in his hand.
7:7 Thus he showed me: and, behold, the LORD stood upon a wall made by a
plumb-line, with a plumb-line in his hand.

7:8 And the Lord said to me, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A weighted line. Then
the Lord said, See, I will let down a weighted line among my people Israel; never
again will my eyes be shut to their sin:
7:8 And the LORD said unto me, Amos, what see you? And I said, A plumb-line.
Then said the LORD, Behold, I will set a plumb-line in the midst of my people
Israel: I will not again pass by them any more:

Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with
the sword.

7:10 Then Amaziah, the priest of Beth-el, sent to Jeroboam, king of Israel, saying, Amos
has made designs against you among the people of Israel: the land is troubled by
his words.
7:10 Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying,
Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel: the land
is not able to bear all his words.

7:11 For Amos has said, Jeroboam will be put to the sword, and Israel will certainly
be taken away as a prisoner out of his land.
7:11 For thus Amos says, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall
surely be led away captive out of their own land.

7:17 So this is what the Lord has said: Your wife will be a loose woman in the town,
and your sons and your daughters will be put to the sword, and your land will be
cut up into parts by a line; and you yourself will come to your end in an unclean
land, and Israel will certainly be taken away a prisoner out of his land.
7:17 Therefore thus says the LORD; Your wife shall be an harlot in the city,
and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall
be divided by line; and you shall die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely
go into captivity out of his land.

Lord said to me, The end has come to my people Israel; never again will my eyes
be shut to their sin.

8:3 And the songs of the king's house will be cries of pain in that day, says the Lord
God: great will be the number of the dead bodies, and everywhere they will put them
out without a word.
8:3 And the songs of the temple shall be wailings in that day, says the Lord
GOD: there shall be many dead bodies in every place; they shall cast them forth
with silence.

8:5 Saying, When will the new moon be gone, so that we may do trade in grain? and the
Sabbath, so that we may put out in the market the produce of our fields? making
the measure small and the price great, and trading falsely with scales of deceit;

sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel
great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?

8:6 Getting the poor for silver, and him who is in need for the price of two shoes,
and taking a price for the waste parts of the grain.
8:6 That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes;
yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat?

8:7 The Lord has taken an oath by the pride of Jacob, Truly I will ever keep in mind
all their works.

any of their works.

8:8 Will not the land be shaking with fear because of this, and everyone in it have
sorrow? and all of it will be overflowing like the River; and it will be troubled
and go down again like the River of Egypt.
8:8 Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwells
therein? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood; and it shall be cast out and
drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.

8:10 Your feasts will be turned into sorrow and all your melody into songs of grief;
everyone will be clothed with haircloth, and the hair of every head will be cut;
I will make the weeping like that for an only son, and the end of it like a bitter
day.
8:10 And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation;
and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head;
and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.

8:11 See, the days are coming, says the Lord God, when I will send times of great need
on the land, not need of food or desire for water, but for hearing the words of
the Lord.
8:11 Behold, the days come, says the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine
in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the
words of the LORD:

8:14 Those who make their oaths by the sin of Samaria and say, By the life of your God,
O Dan; and, By the living way of Beer-sheba; even they will go down, never again
to be lifted up.
8:14 They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Your god, O Dan, lives;
and, The manner of Beersheba lives; even they shall fall, and never rise up again.

9:1 I saw the Lord stationed by the side of the altar, giving blows to the tops of the
pillars so that the doorsteps were shaking: and he said, I will let all of them
be broken with earth-shocks; I will put the last of them to the sword: if any one
of them goes in flight he will not get away, not one of them will be safe.

of the door, that the posts may shake: and cut them in the head, all of them;
and I will slay the last of them with the sword: he that flees of them shall

take them out thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of

³»°¡ ÀúÈñ¿¡°Ô ÁÖ¸ñÇÏ¿© ȸ¦ ³»¸®°í º¹À» ³»¸®Áö ¾Æ´ÏÇϸ®¶ó ÇϽô϶ó
9:4 And though they are taken away as prisoners by their attackers, even there will
I give orders to the sword to put them to death: my eyes will be fixed on them for
evil and not for good.
9:4 And though they go into captivity before their enemies, thence will I
command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I will set mine eyes upon them
for evil, and not for good.
9:5 ¡Û ÁÖ ¸¸±ºÀÇ ¿©È£¿Í´Â ¶¥À» ¸¸Á® ³ì°Ô ÇÏ»ç ¹«¸© °Å±â °ÅÇÑ ÀÚ·Î ¾ÖÅëÇÏ°Ô
ÇÏ½Ã¸ç ±× ¿Â ¶¥À¸·Î ÇϼöÀÇ ³Ñħ °°ÀÌ ¼Ú¾Æ¿À¸£¸ç ¾Ö±Á ° °°ÀÌ ³·¾ÆÁö°Ô ÇϽô ÀÚ¿ä
9:5 For the Lord, the God of armies, is he at whose touch the land is turned to water,
and everyone in it will be given up to sorrow; all of it will be overflowing like
the River, and will go down again like the River of Egypt;
9:5 And the Lord GOD of hosts is he that touches the land, and it shall melt,
and all that dwell therein shall mourn: and it shall rise up wholly like a flood;
and shall be drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.
9:6 ±× ÀüÀ» Çϴÿ¡ ¼¼¿ì½Ã¸ç ±× ±ÃâÀÇ ±âÃʸ¦ ¶¥¿¡ µÎ½Ã¸ç ¹Ù´å ¹°À» ºÒ·¯ Áö¸é¿¡
½ñÀ¸½Ã´Â ÀÚ´Ï ±× À̸§Àº ¿©È£¿Í½Ã´Ï¶ó
9:6 It is he who makes his rooms in the heaven, basing his arch on the earth; whose
voice goes out to the waters of the sea, and sends them flowing over the face of
the earth; the Lord is his name.
9:6 It is he that builds his stories in the heaven, and has founded his troop
in the earth; he that calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out upon
the face of the earth: The LORD is his name.
9:7 ¡Û ¿©È£¿Í²²¼ °¡¶ó»ç´ë À̽º¶ó¿¤ ÀÚ¼Õµé¾Æ ³ÊÈñ´Â ³»°Ô ±¸½º Á·¼Ó °°Áö ¾Æ´ÏÇϳÄ
³»°¡ À̽º¶ó¿¤À» ¾Ö±Á ¶¥¿¡¼, ºí·¹¼Â »ç¶÷À» °©µ¹¿¡¼, ¾Æ¶÷ »ç¶÷À» ±æ¿¡¼ ¿Ã¶ó¿À°Ô ÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ¿´´À³Ä
9:7 Are you not as the children of the Ethiopians to me, O children of Israel? says
the Lord. Have I not taken Israel up out of the land of Egypt, and the Philistines
from Caphtor, and the Aramaeans from Kir?
9:7 Are all of you not as children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children
of Israel? says the LORD. Have not I brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt?
and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir?
9:8 º¸¶ó ÁÖ ¿©È£¿Í ³»°¡ ¹üÁËÇÑ ³ª¶ó¿¡ ÁÖ¸ñÇÏ¿© Áö¸é¿¡¼ ¸êÇϸ®¶ó ±×·¯³ª ¾ß°öÀÇ
ÁýÀº ¿ÂÀüÈ÷ ¸êÇÏÁö´Â ¾Æ´ÏÇϸ®¶ó ÀÌ´Â ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸»¾¸À̴϶ó
9:8 See, the eyes of the Lord are on the evil kingdom, and I will put an end to it in
all the earth; but I will not send complete destruction on Jacob, says the Lord.
9:8 Behold, the eyes of the Lord GOD are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will
destroy it from off the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly destroy
the house of Jacob, says the LORD.
9:9 ³»°¡ ¸í·ÉÇÏ¿© À̽º¶ó¿¤ Á·¼ÓÀ» ¸¸±¹ Áß¿¡ üÁúÇϱ⸦ °î½ÄÀ» üÁúÇÔ °°ÀÌ
ÇÏ·Á´Ï¿Í ±× ÇÑ ¾Ë°»À̵µ ¶¥¿¡ ¶³¾îÁöÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇϸ®¶ó
9:9 For see, I will give orders, and I will have Israel moved about among all the nations,
as grain is moved about by the shaking of the tray, but not the smallest seed will
be dropped on the earth.
9:9 For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all
nations, like corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall
upon the earth.
9:10 ³» ¹é¼º Áß¿¡¼ ¸»Çϱ⸦ È°¡ ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô ¹ÌÄ¡Áö ¾Æ´ÏÇϸç ÀÓÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇϸ®¶ó
ÇÏ´Â ¸ðµç ÁËÀÎÀº Ä®¿¡ Á×À¸¸®¶ó
9:10 All those sinners among my people will be put to the sword who say, Evil will not
overtake us or come face to face with us.
9:10 All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The
evil shall not overtake nor prevent us.
9:11 ¡Û ±× ³¯¿¡ ³»°¡ ´ÙÀÀÇ ¹«³ÊÁø õ¸·À» ÀÏÀ¸Å°°í ±× Æ´À» ¸·À¸¸ç ±× Åð¶ôÇÑ °ÍÀ» ÀÏÀ¸ÄѼ ¿¾Àû°ú °°ÀÌ ¼¼¿ì°í
9:11 In that day I will put up the tent of David which has come down, and make good its
broken places; and I will put up again his damaged walls, building it up as in the
past;
9:11 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen,
and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will
build it as in the days of old:
9:12 ÀúÈñ·Î ¿¡µ¼ÀÇ ³²Àº ÀÚ¿Í ³» À̸§À¸·Î ÀÏÄ´ ¸¸±¹À» ±â¾÷À¸·Î ¾ò°Ô Çϸ®¶ó

9:12 So that the rest of Edom may be their heritage, and all the nations who have been
named by my name, says the Lord, who is doing this.
9:12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which
are called by my name, says the LORD that does this.

9:13 See, the days will come, says the Lord, when the ploughman will overtake him who
is cutting the grain, and the crusher of the grapes him who is planting seed; and
sweet wine will be dropping from the mountains, and the hills will be turned into
streams of wine.
9:13 Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake
the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that sows seed; and the mountains
shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.
9:14 ³»°¡ ³» ¹é¼º À̽º¶ó¿¤ÀÇ »ç·ÎÀâÈù °ÍÀ» µ¹ÀÌÅ°¸®´Ï ÀúÈñ°¡ Ȳ¹«ÇÑ ¼ºÀ¾À»
°ÇÃàÇÏ°í °ÅÇϸç Æ÷µµ¿øµéÀ» ½É°í ±× Æ÷µµÁÖ¸¦ ¸¶½Ã¸ç °ú¿øµéÀ» ¸¸µé°í ±× °ú½ÇÀ» ¸ÔÀ¸¸®¶ó
9:14 And I will let the fate of my people Israel be changed, and they will be building
up again the waste towns and living in them; they will again be planting vine-gardens
and taking the wine for their drink; and they will make gardens and get the fruit
of them.
9:14 And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they
shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards,
and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit
of them.
9:15 ³»°¡ ÀúÈñ¸¦ ±× º»Åä¿¡ ½ÉÀ¸¸®´Ï ÀúÈñ°¡ ³ªÀÇ ÁØ ¶¥¿¡¼ ´Ù½Ã »ÌÈ÷Áö ¾Æ´ÏÇϸ®¶ó
ÀÌ´Â ³× Çϳª´Ô ¿©È£¿ÍÀÇ ¸»¾¸À̴϶ó
9:15 And I will have them planted in their land, and never again will they be uprooted
from their land which I have given them, says the Lord your God.
9:15 And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled
up out of their land which I have given them, says the LORD your God.
