1 Kings

1:1 Now King David was old and far on in years; and though they put covers over him, his body was cold.

1:1 다윗 왕이 나이 많아 늙으니 이불을 덮어도 따뜻하지 아니한지라

1:2 So his servants said to him, Let search be made for a young virgin for my lord the king, to take care of him and be waiting on him; and you may take her in your arms, and so my lord the king will be warm.

1:2 그 신복들이 왕께 고하되 우리 주 왕을 위하여 젊은 처녀 하나를 구하여 저로 왕을 모셔 봉양하고 왕의 품에 누워 우리 주 왕으로 따뜻하시게 하리이다 하고

1:3 So after searching through all the land of Israel for a fair young girl, they saw Abishag the Shunammite, and took her to the king.

1:3 이스라엘 사방 경내에 아리따운 동녀를 구하다가 수넴 여자 아비삭을 얻어 왕께 데려왔으니

1:4 Now she was very beautiful; and she took care of the king, waiting on him at all times; but the king had no connection with her.

1:4 이 동녀는 심히 아리따운 자라 저가 왕을 봉양하며 수종하였으나 왕이 더불어 동침하지 아니하였더라

1:5 Then Adonijah, the son of Haggith, lifting himself up in pride, said, I will become king; and he made ready his carriages of war and his horsemen, with fifty runners to go before him.

1:5 ○ 때에 학깃의 아들 아도니야가 스스로 높여서 이르기를 내가 왕이 되리라 하고 자기를 위하여 병거와 기병과 전배 오십 인을 예비하니

1:6 Now all his life his father had never gone against him or said to him, Why have you done so? and he was a very good-looking man, and younger than Absalom.

1:6 저는 압살롬의 다음에 난 자요 체용이 심히 준수한 자라 그 부친이 네가 어찌하여 그리하였느냐 하는 말로 한 번도 저를 섭섭하게 한 일이 없었더라

1:7 And he had talk with Joab, the son of Zeruiah, and with Abiathar the priest; and they were on his side and gave him their support.

1:7 아도니야가 스루야의 아들 요압과 제사장 아비아달과 모의하니 저희가 좇아 도우나

1:8 But Zadok the priest, and Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, and Nathan the prophet and Shimei and Rei, and David's men of war did not take the side of Adonijah.

1:8 제사장 사독과 여호야다의 아들 브나야와 선지자 나단과 시므이와 레이와 다윗에게 속한 용사들은 아도니야와 같이 하지 아니하였더라

1:9 Then Adonijah put to death sheep and oxen and fat beasts by the stone of Zoheleth, by En-rogel; and he sent for all his brothers, the king's sons, and all the men of Judah, the king's servants, to come to him:

1:9 아도니야가 에느로겔 근방 소헬렛 돌 곁에서 양과 소와 살찐 송아지를 잡고 왕자 곧 자기의 모든 동생과 왕의 신복 유다 모든 사람을 다 청하였으나

1:10 But he did not send for Nathan the prophet and Benaiah and the other men of war and Solomon his brother.

1:10 선지자 나단과 브나야와 용사들과 자기 동생 솔로몬은 청하지 아니하였더라

1:11 Then Nathan said to Bath-sheba, the mother of Solomon, Has it not come to your ears that Adonijah, the son of Haggith, has made himself king without the knowledge of David our lord?

1:11 ○ 나단이 솔로몬의 모친 밧세바에게 고하여 가로되 학깃의 아들 아도니야가 왕이 됨을 듣지 못하였나이까 우리 주 다윗은 알지 못하시나이다

1:12 So now, let me make a suggestion, so that you may keep your life safe and the life of your son Solomon.

1:12 이제 나로 당신의 생명과 당신의 아들 솔로몬의 생명 구원할 계교 베풀기를 허락하소서

1:13 Come now, go to King David and say to him, Did you not, O my lord, take an oath to me, your servant, saying, Truly Solomon your son will be king after me, seated on the seat of my kingdom? why then is Adonijah acting as king?

1:13 당신은 다윗 왕 앞에 들어가서 고하기를 내 주 왕이여 전에 왕이 계집종에게 맹세하여 이르시기를 네 아들 솔로몬이 정녕 나를 이어 왕이 되어 내 위에 앉으리라 하지 아니하셨나이까 그런데 아도니야가 무슨 연고로 왕이 되었나이까 하소서

1:14 And while you are still talking there with the king, see, I will come in after you and say that your story is true.

1:14 당신이 거기서 왕과 말씀할 때에 나도 이어 들어가서 당신의 말씀을 증거하리이다

1:15 Then Bath-sheba went into the king's room; now the king was very old, and Abishag the Shunammite was waiting on him.

1:15 ○ 밧세바가 이에 침실에 들어가 왕에게 이르니 왕이 심히 늙었음으로 수넴 여자 아비삭이 시종하였더라

1:16 And Bath-sheba went down on her face on the earth before the king giving him honour. And he said, What is your desire?

1:16 밧세바가 몸을 굽혀 왕께 절하니 왕이 이르되 어찜이냐

1:17 And she said to him, My lord, you took an oath by the Lord your God and gave your word to your servant, saying, Truly, Solomon your son will be king after me, seated on the seat of my kingdom.

1:17 저가 왕께 대답하되 내 주여 왕이 전에 왕의 하나님 여호와를 가리켜 계집종에게 맹세하시기를 네 아들 솔로몬이 정녕 나를 이어 왕이 되어 내 위에 앉으리라 하셨거늘

1:18 And now, see, Adonijah has made himself king without my lord's knowledge;

1:18 이제 아도니야가 왕이 되었어도 내 주 왕은 알지 못하시나이다

1:19 And has put to death oxen and fat beasts and sheep in great numbers, and has sent for all the sons of the king, and Abiathar the priest, and Joab, the captain of the army; but he has not sent for Solomon your servant.

1:19 저가 수소와 살찐 송아지와 양을 많이 잡고 왕의 모든 아들과 제사장 아비아달과 군대 장관 요압을 청하였으나 왕의 종 솔로몬은 청치 아니하였나이다

1:20 And now, my lord the king, the eyes of all Israel are on you, waiting for you to say who is to take the place of my lord the king after him.

1:20 내 주 왕이여 온 이스라엘이 왕에게 다 주목하고 누가 내 주 왕을 이어 그 위에 앉을 것을 반포하시기를 기다리나이다

1:21 For as things are, it will come about, when my lord the king is sleeping with his fathers, that I and Solomon my son will be made outlaws.

1:21 그렇지 아니하면 내 주 왕께서 그 열조와 함께 잘 때에 나와 내 아들 솔로몬은 죄인이 되리이다

1:22 And while she was still talking with the king, Nathan the prophet came in.

1:22 ○ 밧세바가 왕과 말씀할 때에 선지자 나단이 들어온지라

1:23 And they said to the king, Here is Nathan the prophet. And when he came in before the king, he went down on his face on the earth.

1:23 혹이 왕께 고하여 가로되 선지자 나단이 여기 있나이다 하니 저가 왕 앞에 들어와서 얼굴을 땅에 대어 왕께 절하고

1:24 And Nathan said, O my lord king, have you said, Adonijah is to be king after me, seated on the seat of my kingdom?

1:24 가로되 내 주 왕께서 이르시기를 아도니야가 나를 이어 왕이 되어 내 위에 앉으리라 하셨나이까

1:25 Because today he has gone down and has put to death oxen and fat beasts and sheep in great numbers, and has sent for all the king's sons to come to him, with the captains of the army and Abiathar the priest; and they are feasting before him and crying, Long life to King Adonijah!

1:25 저가 오늘 내려가서 수소와 살찐 송아지와 양을 많이 잡고 왕의 모든 아들과 군대 장관들과 제사장 아비아달을 청하였는데 저희가 아도니야 앞에서 먹고 마시며 아도니야 왕 만세를 불렀나이다

1:26 But me, your servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, and your servant Solomon, he has not sent for.

1:26 그러나 왕의 종 나와 제사장 사독과 여호야다의 아들 브나야와 왕의 종 솔로몬은 청치 아니하였사오니

1:27 Has this thing been done by my lord the king, without giving word to your servants who was to be placed on my lord the king's seat after him?

1:27 이것이 내 주 왕의 하신 일이니이까 그런데 왕께서 내 주 왕을 이어 그 위에 앉을 자를 종에게 알게 하지 아니하셨나이다

1:28 Then King David in answer said, Send for Bath-sheba to come to me. And she came in and took her place before the king.

1:28 다윗 왕이 명하여 가로되 밧세바를 내 앞으로 부르라 하매 저가 왕의 앞으로 들어와 그 앞에 서는지라

1:29 And the king took an oath, and said, By the living Lord, who has been my saviour from all my troubles,

1:29 왕이 가로되 내 생명을 모든 환난에서 구원하신 여호와의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노라

1:30 As I took an oath to you by the Lord, the God of Israel, saying, Certainly Solomon your son will become king after me, seated on my seat in my place; so will I do this day.

1:30 내가 이전에 이스라엘 하나님 여호와를 가리켜 네게 맹세하여 이르기를 네 아들 솔로몬이 정녕 나를 이어 왕이 되고 나를 대신하여 내 위에 앉으리라 하였으니 내가 오늘날 그대로 행하리라

1:31 Then Bath-sheba went down on her face on the earth before the king giving him honour, and said, May my lord King David go on living for ever.

1:31 밧세바가 얼굴을 땅에 대어 절하며 내 주 다윗 왕은 만세수를 하옵소서 하니라

1:32 And King David said, Send for Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada. And they came before the king.

1:32 다윗 왕이 가로되 제사장 사독과 선지자 나단과 여호야다의 아들 브나야를 내 앞으로 부르라 하니 저희가 왕 앞에 이른지라

1:33 And the king said to them, Take with you the servants of your lord, and put Solomon my son on my beast, yes, mine, and take him down to Gihon;

1:33 왕이 저희에게 이르되 너희는 너희 주의 신복들을 데리고 내 아들 솔로몬을 나의 노새에 태우고 기혼으로 인도하여 내려가고

1:34 And there let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet put the holy oil on him to make him king over Israel; and sounding the horn say, Long life to King Solomon!

1:34 거기서 제사장 사독과 선지자 나단은 저에게 기름을 부어 이스라엘 왕을 삼고 너희는 양각을 불며 솔로몬 왕 만세를 부르고

1:35 Then come up after him and he will come in and take his place on the seat of my kingdom; for he is to be king in my place, and I have given orders that he is to be ruler over Israel and over Judah.

1:35 저를 따라 올라오라 저가 와서 내 위에 앉아 나를 대신하여 왕이 되리라 내가 저를 세워 이스라엘과 유다의 주권자가 되게 하기로 작정하였느니라

1:36 And Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, answering the king, said, So be it: and may the Lord, the God of my lord the king, say so.

1:36 여호야다의 아들 브나야가 왕께 대답하여 가로되 아멘 내 주 왕의 하나님 여호와께서도 이렇게 말씀하시기를 원하오며

1:37 As the Lord has been with my lord the king, even so may he be with Solomon and make the seat of his authority greater than that of my lord King David.

1:37 또 여호와께서 내 주 왕과 함께 계심 같이 솔로몬과 함께 계셔서 그 위를 내 주 다윗 왕의 위보다 더 크게 하시기를 원하나이다 하니라

1:38 So Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites, went down and put Solomon on King David's beast and took him to Gihon.

1:38 ○ 제사장 사독과 선지자 나단과 여호야다의 아들 브나야와 그렛 사람과 블렛 사람이 내려가서 솔로몬을 다윗 왕의 노새에 태우고 인도하여 기혼으로 가서

1:39 And Zadok the priest took the vessel of oil out of the Tent, and put the holy oil on Solomon. And when the horn was sounded, all the people said, Long life to King Solomon!

1:39 제사장 사독이 성막 가운데서 기름 뿔을 가져다가 솔로몬에게 기름을 부으니 이에 양각을 불고 모든 백성이 솔로몬 왕 만세를 부르니라

1:40 And all the people came up after him, piping with pipes, and they were glad with great joy, so that the earth was shaking with the sound.

1:40 모든 백성이 왕을 따라 올라와서 피리를 불며 크게 즐거워하므로 땅이 저희 소리로 인하여 갈라질 듯하니

1:41 And it came to the ears of Adonijah and all the guests who were with him, when their meal was ended. And Joab, hearing the sound of the horn, said, What is the reason of this noise as if the town was worked up?

1:41 아도니야와 저와 함께 한 손들이 먹기를 마칠 때에 다 들은지라 요압이 양각 소리를 듣고 가로되 성 중에서 소리가 어찌하여 요란하뇨

1:42 And while the words were on his lips, Jonathan, the son of Abiathar the priest, came; and Adonijah said, Come in; for you are a man of good faith and the news which you have for us will be good.

1:42 말할 때에 제사장 아비아달의 아들 요나단이 오는지라 아도니야가 가로되 들어오라 너는 용사라 아름다운 소식을 가져오는도다

1:43 And Jonathan, answering, said to Adonijah, Not so, but our lord King David has made Solomon king:

1:43 요나단이 아도니야에게 대답하여 가로되 과연 우리 주 다윗 왕이 솔로몬으로 왕을 삼으셨나이다

1:44 And he sent with him Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and they put him on the king's beast:

1:44 왕께서 제사장 사독과 선지자 나단과 여호야다의 아들 브나야와 그렛 사람과 블렛 사람을 솔로몬과 함께 보내셨는데 저희 무리가 왕의 노새에 솔로몬을 태워다가

1:45 And Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet put the holy oil on him and made him king in Gihon; and they came back from there with joy, and the town was all worked up. This is the noise which has come to your ears.

1:45 제사장 사독과 선지자 나단이 기혼에서 기름을 부어 왕을 삼고 무리가 그곳에서 올라오며 즐거워하므로 성중이 진동하였나니 당신들에게 들린 소리가 이것이라

1:46 And now Solomon is seated on the seat of the kingdom.

1:46 솔로몬이 나라 위에 앉았고

1:47 And the king's servants came to our lord King David, blessing him and saying, May God make the name of Solomon better than your name, and the seat of his authority greater than your seat; and the king was bent low in worship on his bed.

1:47 또 왕의 신복들이 와서 우리 주 다윗 왕에게 축복하여 이르기를 왕의 하나님이 솔로몬의 이름을 왕의 이름보다 아름답게 하시고 그 위를 왕의 위보다 크게 하시기를 원하나이다 하매 왕이 침상에서 몸을 굽히고

1:48 Then the king said, May the God of Israel be praised, who has given one of my seed to be king in my place this day and has let my eyes see it.

1:48 이르시기를 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와를 찬송하리로다 여호와께서 오늘날 내 위에 앉을 자를 주사 나로 목도하게 하셨도다 하셨나이다 하니

1:49 And all the guests of Adonijah got up in fear and went away, every man to his place.

1:49 아도니야와 함께 한 손들이 다 놀라 일어나 각기 갈 길로 간지라

1:50 And Adonijah himself was full of fear because of Solomon; and he got up and went to the altar, and put his hands on its horns.

1:50 아도니야도 솔로몬을 두려워하여 일어나 가서 제단 뿔을 잡으니

1:51 And they gave Solomon word of it, saying, See, Adonijah goes in such fear of King Solomon, that he has put his hands on the horns of the altar, saying, Let King Solomon first give me his oath that he will not put his servant to death with the sword.

1:51 혹이 솔로몬에게 고하여 가로되 아도니야가 솔로몬 왕을 두려워하여 지금 제단 뿔을 잡고 말하기를 솔로몬 왕이 오늘날 칼로 자기 종을 죽이지 않겠다고 내게 맹세하기를 원한다 하나이다

1:52 And Solomon said, If he is seen to be a man of good faith, not a hair of him will be touched; but if any wrongdoing is seen in him, he is to be put to death.

1:52 솔로몬이 가로되 저가 만일 선한 사람이 될진대 그 머리카락 하나라도 땅에 떨어지지 아니하려니와 저의 가운데 악한 것이 보이면 죽으리라 하고

1:53 So King Solomon sent, and they took him down from the altar. And he came and gave honour to King Solomon; and Solomon said to him, Go to your house.

1:53 사람을 보내어 저를 제단에서 이끌어 내리니 저가 와서 솔로몬 왕께 절하매 솔로몬이 이르기를 네 집으로 가라 하였더라

1 Kings

2:1 Now the time of David's death came near; and he gave orders to Solomon his son, saying,

2:1 다윗이 죽을 날이 임박하매 그 아들 솔로몬에게 명하여 가로되

2:2 I am going the way of all the earth: so be strong and be a man;

2:2 내가 이제 세상 모든 사람의 가는 길로 가게 되었노니 너는 힘써 대장부가 되고

2:3 And keep the orders of the Lord your God, walking in his ways, keeping his laws and his orders and his rules and his words, as they are recorded in the law of Moses; so that you may do well in all you do and wherever you go,

2:3 네 하나님 여호와의 명을 지켜 그 길로 행하여 그 법률과 계명과 율례와 증거를 모세의 율법에 기록된 대로 지키라 그리하면 네가 무릇 무엇을 하든지 어디로 가든지 형통할지라

2:4 So that the Lord may give effect to what he said of me, If your children give attention to their ways, living uprightly before me with all their heart and their soul, you will never be without a man to be king in Israel.

2:4 여호와께서 내 일에 대하여 말씀하시기를 만일 네 자손이 그 길을 삼가 마음을 다하고 성품을 다하여 진실히 내 앞에서 행하면 이스라엘 왕위에 오를 사람이 네게서 끊어지지 아니하리라 하신 말씀을 확실히 이루게 하시리라

2:5 Now you have knowledge of what Joab, the son of Zeruiah, did to me, and to the two captains of the army of Israel, Abner, the son of Ner, and Amasa, the son of Jether, whom he put to death, taking payment for the blood of war in time of peace, and making the band of my clothing and the shoes on my feet red with the blood of one put to death without cause.

2:5 스루야의 아들 요압이 내게 행한 일 곧 이스라엘 군대의 두 장관 넬의 아들 아브넬과 예델의 아들 아마사에게 행한 일을 네가 알거니와 저가 저희를 죽여 태평 시대에 전쟁의 피를 흘리고 전쟁의 피로 자기의 허리에 띤 띠와 발에 신은 신에 묻혔으니

2:6 So be guided by your wisdom, and let not his white head go down to the underworld in peace.

2:6 네 지혜대로 행하여 그 백발로 평안히 음부에 내려가지 못하게 하라

2:7 But be good to the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be guests at your table; for so they came to me when I went in flight from Absalom your brother.

2:7 마땅히 길르앗 바실래의 아들들에게 은총을 베풀어 저희로 네 상에서 먹는 자 중에 참예하게 하라 내가 네 형 압살롬의 낯을 피하여 도망할 때에 저희가 내게 나아왔었느니라

2:8 Now you have with you Shimei, the son of Gera the Benjamite of Bahurim, who put a bitter curse on me on the day when I went to Mahanaim; but he came down to see me at Jordan, and I gave him my oath by the Lord, saying, I will not put you to death by the sword.

2:8 바후림 베냐민 사람 게라의 아들 시므이가 너와 함께 있나니 저는 내가 마하나임으로 갈 때에 독한 말로 나를 저주하였느니라 그러나 저가 요단에 내려와서 나를 영접하기로 내가 여호와를 가리켜 맹세하여 이르기를 내가 칼로 너를 죽이지 아니하리라 하였노라

2:9 But do not let him be free from punishment, for you are a wise man; and it will be clear to you what you have to do with him; see that his white head goes down to the underworld in blood.

2:9 그러나 저를 무죄한 자로 여기지 말지어다 너는 지혜 있는 사람인즉 저에게 행할 일을 알지니 그 백발의 피를 흘려 저로 음부에 내려가게 하라

2:10 Then David went to rest with his fathers, and his body was put into the earth in the town of David.

2:10 ○ 다윗이 그 열조와 함께 누워 자서 다윗 성에 장사되니

2:11 David was king over Israel for forty years: for seven years he was king in Hebron and for thirty-three years in Jerusalem.

2:11 다윗이 이스라엘 왕이 된 지 사십 년이라 헤브론에서 칠 년을 치리하였고 예루살렘에서 삼십 삼 년을 치리하였더라

2:12 And Solomon took his place on the seat of David his father, and his kingdom was made safe and strong.

2:12 솔로몬이 그 아비 다윗의 위에 앉으니 그 나라가 심히 견고하니라

2:13 Then Adonijah, the son of Haggith, came to Bath-sheba, the mother of Solomon. And she said, Come you in peace? And he said, Yes, in peace.

2:13 ○ 학깃의 아들 아도니야가 솔로몬의 모친 밧세바에게 나아온지라 밧세바가 이르되 네가 화평한 목적으로 왔느뇨 대답하되 화평한 목적이니이다

2:14 Then he said, I have something to say to you. And she said, Say on.

2:14 또 가로되 내가 말씀할 일이 있나이다 밧세바가 가로되 말하라

2:15 And he said, You saw how the kingdom was mine, and all Israel had the idea that I would be their king; but now the kingdom is turned about, and has become my brother's, for it was given to him by the Lord.

2:15 저가 가로되 당신도 아시는 바여니와 이 왕위는 내 것이었고 온 이스라엘은 다 얼굴을 내게로 향하여 왕을 삼으려 하였는데 그 왕위가 돌이켜 내 아우의 것이 되었음은 여호와께로 말미암음이니이다

2:16 Now I have one request to make to you, and do not say, No, to me. And she said to him, Say on.

2:16 이제 내가 한 가지 소원을 당신에게 구하오니 내 얼굴을 괄시하지 마옵소서 밧세바가 가로되 말하라

2:17 Then he said, Will you go to Solomon the king (for he will not say, No, to you) and put before him my request that he will give me Abishag the Shunammite for a wife?

2:17 가로되 청컨대 솔로몬 왕에게 말씀하여 저로 수넴 여자 아비삭을 내게 주어 아내를 삼게 하소서 왕이 당신의 얼굴을 괄시치 아니하리이다

2:18 And Bath-sheba said, Good! I will make your request to the king.

2:18 밧세바가 가로되 좋다 내가 너를 위하여 왕께 말하리라

2:19 So Bath-sheba went to King Solomon to have talk with him on Adonijah's account. And the king got up to come to her, and went down low to the earth before her; then he took his place on the king's seat and had a seat made ready for the king's mother and she took her place at his right hand.

2:19 ○ 밧세바가 이에 아도니야를 위하여 말하려고 솔로몬 왕에게 이르니 왕이 일어나 영접하여 절한 후에 다시 위에 앉고 그 모친을 위하여 자리를 베풀게 하고 그 우편에 앉게 하는지라

2:20 Then she said, I have one small request to make to you; do not say, No, to me. And the king said, Say on, my mother, for I will not say, No, to you.

2:20 밧세바가 이르되 내가 한 가지 작은 일로 왕께 구하오니 내 얼굴을 괄시하지 마소서 왕이 대답하되 내 어머니여 구하시옵소서 내가 어머니의 얼굴을 괄시하지 아니하리이다

2:21 And she said, Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah your brother for a wife.

2:21 가로되 청컨대 수넴 여자 아비삭을 아도니야에게 주어 아내를 삼게 하소서

2:22 Then King Solomon made answer and said to his mother, Why are you requesting me to give Abishag the Shunammite to Adonijah? Take the kingdom for him in addition, for he is my older brother, and Abiathar the priest and Joab, the son of Zeruiah, are on his side.

2:22 솔로몬 왕이 그 모친에게 대답하여 가로되 어찌하여 아도니야를 위하여 수넴 여자 아비삭을 구하시나이까 저는 나의 형이오니 저를 위하여 왕위도 구하옵소서 저뿐 아니라 제사장 아비아달과 스루야의 아들 요압도 위하여 구하옵소서 하고

2:23 Then King Solomon took an oath by the Lord, saying, May God's punishment be on me if Adonijah does not give payment for these words with his life.

2:23 여호와를 가리켜 맹세하여 가로되 아도니야가 이런 말을 하였은즉 그 생명을 잃지 아니하면 하나님은 내게 벌 위에 벌을 내리심이 마땅하니이다

2:24 Now by the living Lord, who has given me my place on the seat of David my father, and made me one of a line of kings, as he gave me his word, truly Adonijah will be put to death this day.

2:24 나를 세워 내 부친 다윗의 위에 오르게 하시고 허락하신 말씀대로 나를 위하여 집을 세우신 여호와의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노니 아도니야는 오늘날 죽임을 당하리라 하고

2:25 And King Solomon sent Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, and he made an attack on him and put him to death.

2:25 여호야다의 아들 브나야를 보내매 저가 아도니야를 쳐서 죽였더라

2:26 And to Abiathar the priest the king said, Go to Anathoth, to your fields; for death would be your right reward; but I will not put you to death now, because you took up the ark of the Lord God before David my father, and you were with him in all his troubles.

2:26 ○ 왕이 제사장 아비아달에게 이르되 네 고향 아나돗으로 가라 너는 마땅히 죽을 자로되 네가 내 부친 다윗 앞에서 주 여호와의 궤를 메었고 또 내 부친이 모든 환난을 받을 때에 너도 환난을 받았은즉 내가 오늘날 너를 죽이지 아니하노라 하고

2:27 So Solomon let Abiathar be priest no longer, so that he might make the word of the Lord come true which he said about the sons of Eli in Shiloh.

2:27 아비아달을 쫓아내어 여호와의 제사장 직분을 파면하니 여호와께서 실로에서 엘리의 집에 대하여 하신 말씀을 응하게 함이더라

2:28 And news of this came to Joab; for Joab had been one of Adonijah's supporters, though he had not been on Absalom's side. Then Joab went in flight to the Tent of the Lord, and put his hands on the horns of the altar.

2:28 ○ 그 소문이 요압에게 들리매 저가 여호와의 장막으로 도망하여 단 뿔을 잡으니 이는 저가 다윗을 떠나 압살롬을 좇지 아니하였으나 아도니야를 좇았음이더라

2:29 And they said to King Solomon, Joab has gone in flight to the Tent of the Lord and is by the altar. Then Solomon sent Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, saying, Go, make an attack on him.

2:29 혹이 솔로몬 왕에게 고하되 요압이 여호와의 장막으로 도망하여 단 곁에 있나이다 솔로몬이 여호야다의 아들 브나야를 보내며 가로되 너는 가서 저를 치라

2:30 And Benaiah came to the Tent of the Lord and said to him, The king says, Come out. And he said, No; but let death come to me here. And Benaiah went back to the king and gave him word of the answer which Joab had given.

2:30 브나야가 여호와의 장막에 이르러 저에게 이르되 왕께서 나오라 하시느니라 저가 대답하되 아니라 내가 여기서 죽겠노라 브나야가 돌아가서 왕께 고하여 가로되 요압이 이리이리 내게 대답하더이다

2:31 And the king said, Do as he has said and make an attack on him there, and put his body into the earth; so that you may take away from me and from my family the blood of one put to death by Joab without cause.

2:31 왕이 이르되 저의 말과 같이 하여 저를 죽여 묻으라 요압이 까닭 없이 흘린 피를 나와 내 부친의 집에서 네가 제하리라

2:32 And the Lord will send back his blood on his head, because of the attack he made on two men more upright and better than himself, putting them to the sword without my father's knowledge; even Abner, the son of Ner, captain of the army of Israel, and Amasa, the son of Jether, captain of the army of Judah.

2:32 여호와께서 요압의 피를 그 머리로 돌려보내실 것은 저가 자기보다 의롭고 선한 두 사람을 쳤음이니 곧 이스라엘 군대 장관 넬의 아들 아브넬과 유다 군대 장관 예델의 아들 아마사를 칼로 죽였음이라 이 일을 내 부친 다윗은 알지 못하셨나니

2:33 So their blood will be on the head of Joab, and on the head of his seed for ever; but for David and his seed and his family and the seat of his kingdom, there will be peace for ever from the Lord.

2:33 저희의 피는 영영히 요압의 머리와 그 자손의 머리로 돌아갈지라도 다윗과 그 자손과 그 집과 그 위에는 여호와께로 말미암은 평강이 영원히 있으리라

2:34 So Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, went up, and falling on him, put him to death; and his body was put to rest in his house in the waste land.

2:34 여호야다의 아들 브나야가 곧 올라가서 저를 쳐죽이매 저가 거친 땅에 있는 자기의 집에 매장되니라

2:35 And the king put Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, in his place over the army; and Zadok the priest he put in the place of Abiathar.

2:35 왕이 이에 여호야다의 아들 브나야로 요압을 대신하여 군대 장관을 삼고 또 제사장 사독으로 아비아달을 대신하게 하니라

2:36 Then the king sent for Shimei, and said to him, Make a house for yourself in Jerusalem and keep there and go to no other place.

2:36 ○ 왕이 보내어 시므이를 불러서 이르되 너는 예루살렘에서 너를 위하여 집을 짓고 거기서 살고 어디든지 나가지 말라

2:37 For be certain that on the day when you go out and go over the stream Kidron, death will overtake you: and your blood will be on your head.

2:37 너는 분명히 알라 네가 나가서 기드론 시내를 건너는 날에는 정녕 죽임을 당하리니 네 피가 네 머리로 돌아가리라

2:38 And Shimei said to the king, Very well! as my lord the king has said, so will your servant do. And for a long time Shimei went on living in Jerusalem.

2:38 시므이가 왕께 대답하되 이 말씀이 좋사오니 내 주 왕의 말씀대로 종이 그리하겠나이다 하고 이에 날이 오래도록 예루살렘에 머무니라

2:39 But after three years, two of the servants of Shimei went in flight to Achish, son of Maacah, king of Gath. And word was given to Shimei that his servants had gone to Gath.

2:39 ○ 삼 년 후에 시므이의 두 종이 가드 왕 마아가의 아들 아기스에게로 도망하여 간지라 혹이 시므이에게 고하여 가로되 당신의 종이 가드에 있나이다

2:40 Then Shimei got up, and making ready his ass, he went to Gath, to Achish, in search of his servants; and he sent and got them from Gath.

2:40 시므이가 그 종을 찾으려고 일어나 그 나귀에 안장을 지우고 가드로 가서 아기스에게 나아가 그 종을 가드에서 데려왔더니

2:41 And news was given to Solomon that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath and had come back again.

2:41 시므이가 예루살렘에서부터 가드에 갔다가 돌아온 일을 혹이 솔로몬에게 고한지라

2:42 Then the king sent for Shimei, and said to him, Did I not make you take an oath by the Lord, protesting to you and saying, Be certain that on the day when you go out from here, wherever you go, death will overtake you? and you said to me, Very well!

2:42 왕이 사람을 보내어 시므이를 불러서 이르되 내가 너로 여호와를 가리켜 맹세하게 하고 경계하여 이르기를 너는 분명히 알라 네가 밖으로 나가서 어디든지 가는 날에는 죽임을 당하리라 하지 아니하였느냐 너도 내게 말하기를 내가 들은 말씀이 좋으니이다 하였거늘

2:43 Why then have you not kept the oath of the Lord and the order which I gave you?

2:43 네가 어찌하여 여호와를 가리켜 한 맹세와 내가 네게 이른 명령을 지키지 아니하였느냐

2:44 And the king said to Shimei, You have knowledge of all the evil which you did to David my father; and now the Lord has sent back your evil on yourself.

2:44 왕이 또 시므이에게 이르되 네가 무릇 네 마음의 아는 모든 악 곧 내 부친에게 행한 바를 네가 스스로 아나니 여호와께서 네 악을 네 머리로 돌려보내시리라

2:45 But a blessing will be on King Solomon, and the kingdom of David will keep its place before the Lord for ever.

2:45 그러나 솔로몬 왕은 복을 받고 다윗의 위는 영원히 여호와 앞에서 견고히 서리라 하고

2:46 So the king gave orders to Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada; and he went out and, falling on him, put him to death. And Solomon's authority over the kingdom was complete.

2:46 여호야다의 아들 브나야에게 명하매 저가 나가서 시므이를 쳐서 죽게 한지라 이에 나라가 솔로몬의 손에 견고하여지니라

1 Kings

3:1 Solomon became the son-in-law of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh's daughter as his wife, keeping her in the town of David, till the house he was building for himself, and the house of the Lord and the wall round Jerusalem, were complete.

3:1 솔로몬이 애굽 왕 바로로 더불어 인연을 맺어 그 딸을 취하고 데려다가 다윗 성에 두고 자기의 궁과 여호와의 전과 예루살렘 주위의 성이 필역되기를 기다리니라

3:2 But all this time the people were making their offerings in the high places, because no house had been put up to the name of the Lord till those days.

3:2 그 때까지 여호와의 이름을 위하여 전을 아직 건축하지 아니하였으므로 백성들이 산당에서 제사하며

3:3 And Solomon, in his love for the Lord, kept the laws of David his father; but he made offerings and let them go up in smoke on the high places.

3:3 솔로몬이 여호와를 사랑하고 그 부친 다윗의 법도를 행하되 오히려 산당에서 제사하며 분향하더라

3:4 And the king went to Gibeon to make an offering there, because that was the chief high place: it was Solomon's way to make a thousand burned offerings on that altar.

3:4 ○ 이에 왕이 제사하러 기브온으로 가니 거기는 산당이 큼이라 솔로몬이 그 단에 일천 번제를 드렸더니

3:5 In Gibeon, Solomon had a vision of the Lord in a dream by night; and God said to him, Say what I am to give you.

3:5 기브온에서 밤에 여호와께서 솔로몬의 꿈에 나타나시니라 하나님이 이르시되 내가 네게 무엇을 줄꼬 너는 구하라

3:6 And Solomon said, Great was your mercy to David my father, as his life before you was true and upright and his heart was true to you; and you have kept for him this greatest mercy, a son to take his place this day.

3:6 솔로몬이 가로되 주의 종 내 아비 다윗이 성실과 공의와 정직한 마음으로 주와 함께 주의 앞에서 행하므로 주께서 저에게 큰 은혜를 베푸셨고 주께서 또 저를 위하여 이 큰 은혜를 예비하시고 오늘날과 같이 저의 위에 앉을 아들을 저에게 주셨나이다

3:7 And now, O Lord my God, you have made your servant king in the place of David my father; and I am only a young boy, with no knowledge of how to go out or come in.

3:7 나의 하나님 여호와여 주께서 종으로 종의 아비 다윗을 대신하여 왕이 되게 하셨사오나 종은 작은 아이라 출입할 줄을 알지 못하고

3:8 And your servant has round him the people of your selection, a people so great that they may not be numbered, and no account of them may be given.

3:8 주의 빼신 백성 가운데 있나이다 저희는 큰 백성이라 수효가 많아서 셀 수도 없고 기록할 수도 없사오니

3:9 Give your servant, then, a wise heart for judging your people, able to see what is good and what evil; for who is able to be the judge of this great people?

3:9 누가 주의 이 많은 백성을 재판할 수 있사오리이까 지혜로운 마음을 종에게 주사 주의 백성을 재판하여 선악을 분별하게 하옵소서

3:10 Now these words and Solomon's request were pleasing to the Lord.

3:10 솔로몬이 이것을 구하매 그 말씀이 주의 마음에 맞은지라

3:11 And God said to him, Because your request is for this thing, and not for long life for yourself or for wealth or for the destruction of your haters, but for wisdom to be a judge of causes;

3:11 이에 하나님이 저에게 이르시되 네가 이것을 구하도다 자기를 위하여 수도 구하지 아니하며 부도 구하지 아니하며 자기의 원수의 생명 멸하기도 구하지 아니하고 오직 송사를 듣고 분별하는 지혜를 구하였은즉

3:12 I have done as you said: I have given you a wise and far-seeing heart, so that there has never been your equal in the past, and never will there be any like you in the future.

3:12 내가 네 말대로 하여 네게 지혜롭고 총명한 마음을 주노니 너의 전에도 너와 같은 자가 없었거니와 너의 후에도 너와 같은 자가 일어남이 없으리라

3:13 And with this I have given you what you made no request for: wealth and honour, so that no king was ever your equal.

3:13 내가 또 너의 구하지 아니한 부와 영광도 네게 주노니 네 평생에 열왕 중에 너와 같은 자가 없을 것이라

3:14 And if you go on in my ways, keeping my laws and my orders as your father David did, I will give you a long life.

3:14 네가 만일 네 아비 다윗의 행함 같이 내 길로 행하며 내 법도와 명령을 지키면 내가 또 네 날을 길게 하리라

3:15 And Solomon, awakening, saw that it was a dream; then he came to Jerusalem, where he went before the ark of the agreement of the Lord, offering burned offerings and peace-offerings; and he made a feast for all his servants.

3:15 솔로몬이 깨어보니 꿈이더라 이에 예루살렘에 이르러 여호와의 언약궤 앞에 서서 번제와 수은제를 드리고 모든 신복을 위하여 잔치하였더라

3:16 Then two loose women of the town came and took their places before the king;

3:16 ○ 때에 창기 두 계집이 왕에게 와서 그 앞에 서며

3:17 And one of them said, O my lord, I and this woman are living in the same house; and I gave birth to a child by her side in the house.

3:17 한 계집은 말하되 내 주여 나와 이 계집이 한 집에서 사는데 내가 저와 함께 집에 있으며 아이를 낳았더니

3:18 And three days after the birth of my child, this woman had a child: we were together, no other-person was with us in the house but we two only.

3:18 나의 해산한 지 삼 일에 이 계집도 해산하고 우리가 함께 있었고 우리 둘 외에는 집에 다른 사람이 없었나이다

3:19 In the night, this woman, sleeping on her child, was the cause of its death.

3:19 그런데 밤에 저 계집이 그 아들 위에 누우므로 그 아들이 죽으니

3:20 And she got up in the middle of the night and took my son from my side while your servant was sleeping; and she took it in her arms and put her dead child in my arms.

3:20 저가 밤중에 일어나서 계집종 나의 잠든 사이에 내 아들을 내 곁에서 가져다가 자기의 품에 뉘이고 자기의 죽은 아들을 내 품에 뉘었나이다

3:21 And when I got up to give my child the breast, I saw that it was dead; but in the morning, looking at it with care, I saw that it was not my son.

3:21 미명에 내가 내 아들을 젖 먹이려고 일어나 본즉 죽었기로 내가 아침에 자세히 보니 내가 낳은 아들이 아니더이다 하매

3:22 And the other woman said, No; but the living child is my son and the dead one yours. But the first said, No; the dead child is your son and the living one mine. So they kept on talking before the king.

3:22 다른 계집은 이르되 아니라 산 것은 내 아들이요 죽은 것은 네 아들이라 하고 이 계집은 이르되 아니라 죽은 것이 네 아들이요 산 것이 내 아들이라 하매 왕 앞에서 그와 같이 쟁론하는지라

3:23 Then the king said, One says, The living child is my son, and yours is the dead: and the other says, Not so; but your son is the dead one and mine is the living.

3:23 왕이 가로되 이는 말하기를 산 것은 내 아들이요 죽은 것은 네 아들이라 하고 저는 말하기를 아니라 죽은 것이 네 아들이요 산 것이 내 아들이라 하는도다 하고

3:24 Then he said, Get me a sword. So they went and put a sword before the king.

3:24 또 가로되 칼을 내게로 가져오라 하니 칼을 왕의 앞으로 가져온지라

3:25 And the king said, Let the living child be cut in two and one half given to one woman and one to the other.

3:25 왕이 이르되 산 아들을 둘에 나눠 반은 이에게 주고 반은 저에게 주라

3:26 Then the mother of the living child came forward, for her heart went out to her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the child; do not on any account put it to death. But the other woman said, It will not be mine or yours; let it be cut in two.

3:26 그 산 아들의 어미되는 계집이 그 아들을 위하여 마음이 불붙는 것 같아서 왕께 아뢰어 가로되 청컨대 내 주여 산 아들을 저에게 주시고 아무쪼록 죽이지 마옵소서 하되 한 계집은 말하기를 내 것도 되게 말고 네 것도 되게 말고 나누게 하라 하는지라

3:27 Then the king made answer and said, Give her the child, and do not put it to death; she is the mother of it.

3:27 왕이 대답하여 가로되 산 아들을 저 계집에게 주고 결코 죽이지 말라 저가 그 어미니라 하매

3:28 And news of this decision which the king had made went through all Israel; and they had fear of the king, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to give decisions.

3:28 온 이스라엘이 왕의 심리하여 판결함을 듣고 왕을 두려워하였으니 이는 하나님의 지혜가 저의 속에 있어 판결함을 봄이더라

1 Kings

4:1 Now Solomon was king over all Israel.

4:1 솔로몬 왕이 온 이스라엘의 왕이 되었고

4:2 And these were his chief men: Azariah, the son of Zadok, was the priest;

4:2 그의 신하들은 이러하니라 사독의 아들 아사리아는 제사장이요

4:3 Elihoreph and Ahijah, the sons of Shisha, were scribes; Jehoshaphat, the son of Ahilud, was the recorder;

4:3 시사의 아들 엘리호렙과 아히야는 서기관이요 아힐룻의 아들 여호사밧은 사관이요

4:4 Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, was head of the army; Zadok and Abiathar were priests;

4:4 여호야다의 아들 브나야는 군대 장관이요 사독과 아비아달은 제사장이요

4:5 Azariah, the son of Nathan, was over those in authority in the different divisions of the country; Zabud, the son of Nathan, was priest and the king's friend;

4:5 나단의 아들 아사리아는 관리장이요 나단의 아들 사붓은 대신이니 왕의 벗이요

4:6 Ahishar was controller of the king's house; Adoniram, the son of Abda, was overseer of the forced work.

4:6 아히살은 궁내 대신이요 압다의 아들 아도니람은 감역관이더라

4:7 And Solomon put twelve overseers over all Israel, to be responsible for the stores needed for the king and those of his house; every man was responsible for one month in the year.

4:7 ○ 솔로몬이 또 온 이스라엘 위에 열 두 관장을 두매 그 사람들이 왕과 왕실을 위하여 식물을 예비하되 각기 일 년에 한 달씩 식물을 예비하였으니

4:8 And these are their names: ... the son of Hur in the hill country of Ephraim;

4:8 그 이름은 이러하니라 에브라임 산지에는 벤훌이요

4:9 ... the son of Deker in Makaz and Shaalbim and Beth-shemesh and Elonbeth-hanan;

4:9 마가스와 사알빔과 벧세메스와 엘론벧하난에는 벤데겔이요

4:10 ... the son of Hesed in Arubboth; Socoh and all the land of Hepher were under his control;

4:10 아룹봇에는 벤헤셋이니 소고와 헤벨 온 땅을 저가 주관하였으며

4:11 ... the son of Abinadab in all Naphath-dor; his wife was Taphath, the daughter of Solomon.

4:11 돌 높은 땅 온 지방에는 벤아비나답이니 저는 솔로몬의 딸 다밧으로 아내를 삼았으며

4:12 Baana, the son of Ahilud, in Taanach and Megiddo, and all Beth-shean which is by the side of Zarethan, under Jezreel, from Beth-shean to Abel-meholah, as far as the far side of Jokmeam;

4:12 다아낙과 므깃도와 이스르엘 아래 사르단 가에 있는 벧스안 온 땅은 아힐룻의 아들 바아나가 맡았으니 벧소안에서부터 아벨므홀라에 이르고 욕느암 바깥까지 미쳤으며

4:13 ... the son of Geber in Ramoth-gilead; he had the towns of Jair, the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead, and the country of Argob, which is in Bashan, sixty great towns with walls and locks of brass.

4:13 길르앗 라못에는 벤게벨이니 저는 길르앗에 있는 므낫세의 아들 야일의 모든 촌을 주관하였고 또 바산 아르곱 땅의 성벽과 놋빗장 있는 큰 성읍 육십을 주관하였으며

4:14 Ahinadab, the son of Iddo, in Mahanaim;

4:14 마하나임에는 잇도의 아들 아히나답이요

4:15 Ahimaaz in Naphtali; he took Basemath, the daughter of Solomon, as his wife;

4:15 납달리에는 아히마아스니 저는 솔로몬의 딸 바스맛으로 아내를 삼았으며

4:16 Baana, the son of Hushai, in Asher and Aloth;

4:16 아셀과 아롯에는 후새의 아들 바아나요

4:17 Jehoshaphat, the son of Paruah, in Issachar;

4:17 잇사갈에는 바루아의 아들 여호사밧이요

4:18 Shimei, the son of Ela, in Benjamin;

4:18 베냐민에는 엘라의 아들 시므이요

4:19 Geber, the son of Uri, in the land of Gilead, the country of Sihon, king of the Amorites, and Og, king of Bashan; and one overseer had authority over all the overseers who were in the land.

4:19 아모리 사람의 왕 시혼과 바산 왕 옥의 나라 길르앗 땅에는 우리의 아들 게벨이니 그 땅에서는 저 한 사람만 관장이 되었더라

4:20 Judah and Israel were as great in number as the sand by the seaside, and they took their food and drink with joy in their hearts.

4:20 ○ 유다와 이스라엘의 인구가 바닷가의 모래 같이 많게 되매 먹고 마시며 즐거워하였으며

4:21 And Solomon was ruler over all the kingdoms from the River to the land of the Philistines, and as far as the edge of Egypt; men gave him offerings and were his servants all the days of his life.

4:21 솔로몬이 하수에서부터 블레셋 사람의 땅에 이르기까지와 애굽 지경에 미치기까지의 모든 나라를 다스리므로 그 나라들이 공을 바쳐 솔로몬의 사는 동안에 섬겼더라

4:22 And the amount of Solomon's food for one day was thirty measures of crushed grain and sixty measures of meal;

4:22 솔로몬의 일 일분 식물은 가는 밀가루가 삼십 석이요 굵은 밀가루가 육십 석이요

4:23 Ten fat oxen and twenty oxen from the fields, and a hundred sheep, in addition to harts and gazelles and roes and fat fowls.

4:23 살찐 소가 열이요 초장의 소가 스물이요 양이 일백이며 그 외에 수사슴과 노루와 암사슴과 살찐 새들이었더라

4:24 For he had authority over all the country on this side of the River, from Tiphsah to Gaza, over all the kings on this side of the River; and he had peace round him on every side.

4:24 솔로몬이 하수 이편을 딥사에서부터 가사까지 모두 다스리므로 하수 이편의 모든 왕이 다 관할한 바 되매 저가 사방에 둘린 민족과 평화가 있었으니

4:25 So Judah and Israel were living safely, every man under his vine and his fig-tree, from Dan as far as Beer-sheba, all the days of Solomon.

4:25 솔로몬의 사는 동안에 유다와 이스라엘이 단에서부터 브엘세바에 이르기까지 각기 포도나무 아래와 무화과나무 아래서 안연히 살았더라

4:26 And Solomon had four thousand boxed-off spaces for horses for his carriages, and twelve thousand horsemen.

4:26 솔로몬의 병거의 말의 외양간이 사만이요 마병이 일만 이천이며

4:27 And those overseers, every man in his month, saw that food was produced for Solomon and all his guests, they took care that nothing was overlooked.

4:27 그 관장들은 각각 자기 달에 솔로몬 왕과 왕의 상에 참예하는 모든 자를 위하여 먹을 것을 예비하여 부족함이 없게 하였으며

4:28 And they took grain and dry grass for the horses and the carriage-horses, to the right place, every man as he was ordered.

4:28 또 저희가 각기 직무를 따라 말과 준마에게 먹일 보리와 꼴을 그 말의 있는 곳으로 가져왔더라

4:29 And God gave Solomon a great store of wisdom and good sense, and a mind of wide range, as wide as the sand by the seaside.

4:29 ○ 하나님이 솔로몬에게 지혜와 총명을 심히 많이 주시고 또 넓은 마음을 주시되 바닷가의 모래 같이 하시니

4:30 And Solomon's wisdom was greater than the wisdom of all the people of the East and all the wisdom of Egypt.

4:30 솔로몬의 지혜가 동양 모든 사람의 지혜와 애굽의 모든 지혜보다 뛰어난지라

4:31 For he was wiser than all men, even than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman and Calcol and Darda, the sons of Mahol; and he had a great name among all the nations round about.

4:31 저는 모든 사람보다 지혜로와서 예스라 사람 에단과 마홀의 아들 헤만과 갈골과 다르다보다 나으므로 그 이름이 사방 모든 나라에 들렸더라

4:32 He was the maker of three thousand wise sayings, and of songs to the number of a thousand and five.

4:32 저가 잠언 삼천을 말하였고 그 노래는 일천 다섯이며

4:33 He made sayings about all plants, from the cedar in Lebanon to the hyssop hanging on the wall; and about all beasts and birds and fishes and the small things of the earth.

4:33 저가 또 초목을 논하되 레바논 백향목으로부터 담에 나는 우슬초까지 하고 저가 또 짐승과 새와 기어 다니는 것과 물고기를 논한지라

4:34 People came from every nation to give ear to the wisdom of Solomon, from all the kings of the earth who had word of his wisdom.

4:34 모든 민족 중에서 솔로몬의 지혜의 소문을 들은 천하 모든 왕 중에서 그 지혜를 들으러 왔더라

1 Kings

5:1 Now Hiram, king of Tyre, hearing that Solomon had been made king in place of his father, sent his servants to him; for Hiram had ever been a friend to David.

5:1 솔로몬이 기름 부음을 받고 그 부친을 이어 왕이 되었다 함을 두로 왕 히람이 듣고 그 신복을 솔로몬에게 보내었으니 이는 히람이 평일에 다윗을 사랑하였음이라

5:2 And Solomon sent back word to Hiram, saying,

5:2 이에 솔로몬이 히람에게 기별하여 가로되

5:3 You have knowledge that David my father was not able to make a house for the name of the Lord his God, because of the wars which were round him on every side, till the Lord put all those who were against him under his feet.

5:3 당신도 알거니와 내 부친 다윗이 사방의 전쟁으로 인하여 그 하나님 여호와의 이름을 위하여 전을 건축하지 못하고 여호와께서 그 원수들을 그 발바닥 밑에 두시기를 기다렸나이다

5:4 But now the Lord my God has given me rest on every side; no one is making trouble, and no evil is taking place.

5:4 이제 내 하나님 여호와께서 내게 사방의 태평을 주시매 대적도 없고 재앙도 없도다

5:5 And so it is my purpose to make a house for the name of the Lord my God, as he said to David my father, Your son, whom I will make king in your place, will be the builder of a house for my name.

5:5 여호와께서 내 부친 다윗에게 하신 말씀에 내가 너를 이어 네 위에 오르게 할 네 아들 그가 내 이름을 위하여 전을 건축하리라 하신 대로 내가 내 하나님 여호와의 이름을 위하여 전을 건축하려 하오니

5:6 So now, will you have cedar-trees from Lebanon cut down for me, and my servants will be with your servants; and I will give you payment for your servants at whatever rate you say; for it is common knowledge that we have no such wood-cutters among us as the men of Zidon.

5:6 당신은 영을 내려 나를 위하여 레바논에서 백향목을 베어내게 하소서 나의 종과 당신의 종이 함께 할 것이요 또 내가 당신의 모든 말씀대로 당신의 종의 삯을 당신에게 붙이리이다 당신도 알거니와 우리 중에는 시돈 사람처럼 벌목을 잘하는 자가 없나이다

5:7 And these words of Solomon made Hiram glad, and he said, Now may the Lord be praised who has given to David a wise son to be king over this great people.

5:7 ○ 히람이 솔로몬의 말을 듣고 크게 기뻐하여 가로되 오늘날 여호와를 찬양할지로다 저가 다윗에게 지혜로운 아들을 주사 그 많은 백성을 다스리게 하셨도다 하고

5:8 Then Hiram sent to Solomon, saying; The words you sent have been given to me: I will do all your desire in the question of cedar-wood and cypress-wood.

5:8 이에 솔로몬에게 기별하여 가로되 당신의 기별하신 말씀을 내가 듣고 내 백향목 재목과 잣나무 재목에 대하여는 당신의 바라시는 대로 할지라

5:9 My men will take them down from Lebanon to the sea, where I will have them corded together to go by sea to whatever place you say, and I will have them cut up there so that you may take them away; as for payment, it will be enough if you give me food for my people.

5:9 내 종이 레바논에서 바다로 수운하겠고 내가 그것을 바다에서 떼로 엮어 당신이 지정하는 곳으로 보내고 거기서 그것을 풀리니 당신은 받으시고 나의 원을 이루어서 나의 궁정을 위하여 식물을 주소서 하고

5:10 So Hiram gave Solomon all the cedar-wood and cypress-wood he had need of;

5:10 솔로몬의 모든 원대로 백향목 재목과 잣나무 재목을 주매

5:11 And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of grain, as food for his people, and twenty measures of clear oil; this he did every year.

5:11 솔로몬이 히람에게 그 궁정의 식물로 밀 이만 석과 맑은 기름 이십 석을 주고 해마다 그와 같이 주었더라

5:12 Now the Lord had given Solomon wisdom, as he had said to him; and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and they made an agreement together.

5:12 여호와께서 그 말씀대로 솔로몬에게 지혜를 주신 고로 히람과 솔로몬이 친목하여 두 사람이 함께 약조를 맺었더라

5:13 Then King Solomon got together men for the forced work through all Israel, thirty thousand men in number;

5:13 ○ 이에 솔로몬 왕이 온 이스라엘에서 역군을 불러 일으키니 그 역군의 수가 삼만이라

5:14 And sent them to Lebanon in bands of ten thousand every month: for a month they were working in Lebanon and for two months in their country, and Adoniram was in control of them.

5:14 솔로몬이 저희들을 한 달에 일만 인씩 번갈아 레바논으로 보내매 저희들이 한 달은 레바논에 있고 두 달은 집에 있으며 아도니람은 감독이 되었고

5:15 Then he had seventy thousand for the work of transport, and eighty thousand stone-cutters in the mountains;

5:15 솔로몬에게 또 담군이 칠만 인이요 산에서 돌을 뜨는 자가 팔만 인이며

5:16 In addition to the chiefs of the responsible men put by Solomon to oversee the work, three thousand and three hundred in authority over the workmen.

5:16 이 외에 그 역사를 동독하는 관리가 삼천 삼백 인이라 저희가 일하는 백성을 거느렸더라

5:17 By the king's orders great stones, stones of high price, were cut out, so that the base of the house might be made of squared stone.

5:17 이에 왕이 영을 내려 크고 귀한 돌을 떠다가 다듬어서 전의 기초석으로 놓게 하매

5:18 Solomon's builders and Hiram's builders did the work of cutting them, and put edges on them, and got the wood and the stone ready for the building of the house.

5:18 솔로몬의 건축자와 히람의 건축자와 그발 사람이 그 돌을 다듬고 전을 건축하기 위하여 재목과 돌들을 갖추니라

1 Kings

6:1 In the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year that Solomon was king of Israel, in the month Ziv, which is the second month, the building of the Lord's house was started.

6:1 이스라엘 자손이 애굽 땅에서 나온 지 사백 팔십 년이요 솔로몬이 이스라엘 왕이 된 지 사 년 시브월 곧 이 월에 솔로몬이 여호와를 위하여 전 건축하기를 시작하였더라

6:2 The house which Solomon made for the Lord was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide and thirty cubits high.

6:2 솔로몬 왕이 여호와를 위하여 건축한 전은 장이 육십 규빗이요 광이 이십 규빗이요 고가 삼십 규빗이며

6:3 The covered way before the Temple of the house was twenty cubits long, as wide as the house, and ten cubits wide in front of the house.

6:3 전의 성소 앞 낭실의 장은 전의 광과 같이 이십 규빗이요 그 광은 전 앞에서부터 십 규빗이며

6:4 And for the house he made windows, with network across.

6:4 전을 위하여 붙박이 교창을 내고

6:5 And against the walls all round, and against the walls of the Temple and of the inmost room, he put up wings, with side rooms all round:

6:5 또 전의 벽 곧 성소와 지성소의 벽에 연접하여 돌아가며 다락들을 건축하되 다락마다 돌아가며 골방들을 만들었으니

6:6 The lowest line of them being five cubits wide, the middle six cubits wide and the third seven cubits; for there was a space all round the outside walls of the house so that the boards supporting the rooms did not have to be fixed in the walls of the house.

6:6 하층 다락의 광은 다섯 규빗이요 중층 다락의 광은 여섯 규빗이요 제 삼층 다락의 광은 일곱 규빗이라 전의 벽 바깥으로 돌아가며 턱을 내어 골방 들보들로 전의 벽에 박히지 않게 하였으며

6:7 (And the stones used in the building of the house were squared at the place where they were cut out; there was no sound of hammer or axe or any iron instrument while they were building the house.)

6:7 이 전은 건축할 때에 돌을 뜨는 곳에서 치석하고 가져다가 건축하였으므로 건축하는 동안에 전 속에서는 방망이나 도끼나 모든 철 연장 소리가 들리지 아니하였으며

6:8 The door to the lowest side rooms was in the right side of the house; and they went up by twisting steps into the middle rooms, and from the middle into the third.

6:8 중층 골방의 문은 전 오른편에 있는데 나사 모양 사닥다리로 말미암아 하층에서 중층에 오르고 중층에서 제 삼 층에 오르게 하였더라

6:9 So he put up the house and made it complete, roofing it with boards of cedar-wood.

6:9 전의 건축이 마치니라 그 전은 백향목 서까래와 널판으로 덮었고

6:10 And he put up the line of side rooms against the walls of the house, fifteen cubits high, resting against the house on boards of cedar-wood.

6:10 또 온 전으로 돌아가며 고가 다섯 규빗 되는 다락방을 건축하되 백향목 들보로 전에 연접하게 하였더라

6:11 (And the word of the Lord came to Solomon, saying,

6:11 ○ 여호와의 말씀이 솔로몬에게 임하여 가라사대

6:12 About this house which you are building: if you will keep my laws and give effect to my decisions and be guided by my rules, I will give effect to my word which I gave to David your father.

6:12 네가 이제 이 전을 건축하니 네가 만일 내 법도를 따르며 내 율례를 행하며 나의 모든 계명을 지켜 그대로 행하면 내가 네 아비 다윗에게 한 말을 네게 확실히 이룰 것이요

6:13 And I will be ever among the children of Israel, and will not go away from my people.

6:13 내가 또한 이스라엘 자손 가운데 거하며 내 백성 이스라엘을 버리지 아니하리라 하셨더라

6:14 So Solomon made the building of the house complete.)

6:14 ○ 솔로몬이 전 건축하기를 마치고

6:15 The walls of the house were covered inside with cedar-wood boards; from the floor to the roof of the house they were covered inside with wood; and the floor was covered with boards of cypress-wood.

6:15 백향목 널판으로 전의 안 벽 곧 전 마루에서 천장까지의 벽에 입히고 또 잣나무 널판으로 전 마루를 놓고

6:16 And at the back of the house a further space of twenty cubits was shut in with boards of cedar-wood, for the inmost room.

6:16 또 전 뒤편에서부터 이십 규빗 되는 곳에 마루에서 천장까지 백향목 널판으로 가로막아 전의 내소 곧 지성소를 만들었으며

6:17 And the house, that is, the Temple, in front of the holy place was forty cubits long.

6:17 내소 앞에 있는 외소 곧 성소의 장이 사십 규빗이며

6:18 (All the inside of the house was cedar-wood, ornamented with designs of buds and flowers; no stonework was to be seen inside.)

6:18 전 안에 입힌 백향목에는 박과 핀 꽃을 아로새겼고 모두 백향목이라 돌이 보이지 아니하며

6:19 And he made ready an inmost room in the middle of the house, in which to put the ark of the agreement of the Lord.

6:19 여호와의 언약궤를 두기 위하여 전 안에 내소를 예비하였는데

6:20 And the inmost room was twenty cubits square and twenty cubits high, plated over with clear gold, and he made an altar of cedar-wood, plating it with gold.

6:20 그 내소의 속이 장이 이십 규빗이요 광이 이십 규빗이요 고가 이십 규빗이라 정금으로 입혔고 백향목 단에도 입혔더라

6:21 Solomon had all the inside of the house covered with gold, and he put chains of gold across in front of the inmost room, which itself was covered with gold.

6:21 솔로몬이 정금으로 외소 안에 입히고 내소 앞에 금사슬로 건너지르고 내소를 금으로 입히고

6:22 Plates of gold were put all through the house till it was covered completely (and the altar in the inmost room was all covered with gold).

6:22 온 전을 금으로 입히기를 마치고 내소에 속한 단의 전부를 금으로 입혔더라

6:23 In the inmost room he made two winged beings of olive-wood, ten cubits high;

6:23 ○ 내소 안에 감람목으로 두 그룹을 만들었는데 그 고가 각각 십 규빗이라

6:24 With outstretched wings five cubits wide; the distance from the edge of one wing to the edge of the other was ten cubits.

6:24 한 그룹의 이 날개는 다섯 규빗이요 저 날개도 다섯 규빗이니 이 날개 끝으로부터 저 날개 끝까지 십 규빗이며

6:25 The two winged ones were ten cubits high, of the same size and form.

6:25 다른 그룹도 십 규빗이니 그 두 그룹은 한 척수, 한 모양이요

6:26 The two of them were ten cubits high.

6:26 이 그룹의 고가 십 규빗이요 저 그룹도 일반이라

6:27 These were placed inside the inner house, their outstretched wings touching the walls of the house, one touching one wall and one the other, while their other wings were touching in the middle.

6:27 솔로몬이 내소 가운데 그룹을 두었으니 그룹들의 날개가 폐었는데 이 그룹의 날개는 이 벽에 닿았고 저 그룹의 날개는 저 벽에 닿았으며 두 날개는 전의 중앙에서 서로 닿았더라

6:28 These winged ones were plated over with gold.

6:28 저가 금으로 그룹에 입혔더라

6:29 And all the walls of the house inside and out were ornamented with forms of winged ones and palm-trees and open flowers.

6:29 ○ 내외소 사면 벽에는 모두 그룹들과 종려와 핀 꽃 형상을 아로새겼고

6:30 And the floor of the house was covered with gold, inside and out.

6:30 내외 전 마루에는 금으로 입혔으며

6:31 For the way into the inmost room he made doors of olive-wood, the arch and the door supports forming a five-sided opening.

6:31 내소에 들어가는 곳에는 감람목으로 문을 만들었는데 그 문 인방과 문설주는 벽의 오분지 일이요

6:32 On the olive-wood doors were cut designs of winged ones and palm-trees and open flowers, all of them, with the doors, plated with gold.

6:32 감람목으로 만든 그 두 문짝에 그룹과 종려와 핀 꽃을 아로새기고 금으로 입히되 곧 그룹들과 종려에 금으로 입혔더라

6:33 Then he made pillars of olive-wood for the way into the Temple; the pillars were square:

6:33 또 외소의 문을 위하여 감람목으로 문설주를 만들었으니 곧 벽의 사분지 일이며

6:34 And two folding doors of cypress-wood, with two leaves.

6:34 그 두 문짝은 잣나무라 이 문짝도 두 짝으로 접게 되었고 저 문짝도 두 짝으로 접게 되었으며

6:35 These were ornamented with designs of winged ones and palm-trees and open flowers, plated over with gold.

6:35 그 문짝에 그룹들과 종려와 핀 꽃을 아로새기고 금으로 입히되 그 새긴 데 맞게 하였고

6:36 And the inner space was walled with three lines of squared stones and a line of cedar-wood boards.

6:36 또 다듬은 돌 세 켜와 백향목 두꺼운 판자 한 켜로 둘러 안뜰을 만들었더라

6:37 In the fourth year the base of the house was put in its place, in the month Ziv.

6:37 ○ 제 사 년 시브월에 여호와의 전 기초를 쌓았고

6:38 And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, the building of the house was complete in every detail, as it had been designed. So he was seven years building it.

6:38 제 십 일 년 불월 곧 팔 월에 그 설계와 식양대로 전이 다 필역되었으니 솔로몬이 전을 건축한 동안이 칠 년이었더라

1 Kings

7:1 Solomon was thirteen years building a house for himself till it was complete.

7:1 솔로몬이 자기의 궁을 십 삼 년 동안 건축하여 그 전부를 준공하니라

7:2 And he made the house of the Woods of Lebanon, which was a hundred cubits long and fifty cubits wide and thirty cubits high, resting on four lines of cedar-wood pillars with cedar-wood supports on the pillars.

7:2 저가 레바논 나무로 궁을 지었으니 장이 일백 규빗이요 광이 오십 규빗이요 고가 삼십 규빗이라 백향목 기둥이 네 줄이요 기둥 위에 백향목 들보가 있으며

7:3 And it was covered with cedar over the forty-five supports which were on the pillars, fifteen in a line.

7:3 기둥 위에 있는 사십 오 개 들보를 백향목으로 덮었는데 들보는 한 줄에 열 다섯이요

7:4 There were three lines of window-frames, window facing window in every line.

7:4 또 창틀이 세 줄로 있는데 창과 창이 세 층으로 서로 대하였고

7:5 And all the doors and windows had square frames, with the windows facing one another in three lines.

7:5 모든 문과 문설주를 다 큰 나무로 네모지게 만들었는데 창과 창이 세 층으로 서로 대하였으며

7:6 And he made a covered room of pillars, fifty cubits long and thirty cubits wide, and ... with steps before it.

7:6 또 기둥을 세워 낭실을 지었으니 장이 오십 규빗이요 광이 삼십 규빗이며 또 기둥 앞에 한 낭실이 있고 또 그 앞에 기둥과 섬돌이 있으며

7:7 Then he made a covered room for his high seat when he gave decisions; this was the covered room of judging; it was covered with cedar-wood from floor to roof.

7:7 또 심판하기 위하여 보좌의 낭실 곧 재판하는 낭실을 짓고 온 마루를 백향목으로 덮었고

7:8 And the house for his living-place, the other open square in the covered room, was made in the same way. And then he made a house like it for Pharaoh's daughter, whom Solomon had taken as his wife.

7:8 솔로몬의 거처할 궁은 그 낭실 뒤 다른 뜰에 있으니 그 공작이 일반이며 솔로몬이 또 그 장가 든 바로의 딸을 위하여 집을 지었는데 이 낭실과 같더라

7:9 All these buildings were made, inside and out, from base to crowning stone, and outside to the great walled square, of highly priced stone, cut to different sizes with cutting-instruments.

7:9 ○ 이 집들은 안팎을 모두 귀하고 다듬은 돌로 지었으니 척수대로 톱으로 켠 것이라 그 기초석에서 처마까지와 외면에서 큰 뜰에 이르기까지 다 그러하니

7:10 And the base was of great masses of highly priced stone, some ten cubits and some eight cubits square.

7:10 그 기초석은 귀하고 큰 돌 곧 십 규빗 되는 돌과 여덟 규빗 되는 돌이라

7:11 Overhead were highly priced stones cut to measure, and cedar-wood.

7:11 그 위에는 척수대로 다듬은 귀한 돌도 있고 백향목도 있으며

7:12 The great outer square all round was walled with three lines of squared stones and a line of cedar-wood boards, round about the open square inside the house of the Lord and the covered room of the king's house.

7:12 또 큰 뜰 주위에는 다듬은 돌 세 켜와 백향목 두꺼운 판자 한 켜를 놓았으니 마치 여호와의 전 안뜰과 낭실에 놓은 것 같더라

7:13 Then King Solomon sent and got Hiram from Tyre.

7:13 ○ 솔로몬 왕이 보내어 히람을 두로에서 데려오니

7:14 He was the son of a widow of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass; he was full of wisdom and knowledge and an expert worker in brass. He came to King Solomon and did all his work for him.

7:14 저는 납달리 지파 과부의 아들이요 그 아비는 두로 사람이니 놋점장이라 이 히람은 모든 놋 일에 지혜와 총명과 재능이 구비한 자더니 솔로몬 왕에게 와서 그 모든 공작을 하니라

7:15 He it was who made the two brass pillars; the first pillar was eighteen cubits high, and a line of twelve cubits went round it; and the second was the same.

7:15 저가 놋기둥 둘을 만들었으니 그 고는 각각 십 팔 규빗이라 각각 십 이 규빗되는 줄을 두를 만하며

7:16 And he made the two crowns to be put on the tops of the pillars, of brass made soft in the fire; the crowns were five cubits high.

7:16 또 놋을 녹여 부어서 기둥 머리를 만들어 기둥 꼭대기에 두었으니 이 머리의 고도 다섯 규빗이요 저 머리의 고도 다섯 규빗이며

7:17 There were nets of open-work for the crowns on the tops of the pillars, a net of open-work for one and a net of open-work for the other.

7:17 기둥 꼭대기에 있는 머리를 위하여 바둑판 모양으로 얽은 그물과 사슬 모양의 땋은 것을 만들었으니 이 머리에 일곱이요 저 머리에 일곱이라

7:18 And he made ornaments of apples; and two lines of apples all round over the network, covering the crowns of the pillars, the two crowns in the same way.

7:18 기둥을 이렇게 만들었고 또 두 줄 석류를 한 그물 위에 둘러 만들어서 기둥 꼭대기에 있는 머리에 두르게 하였고 다른 기둥 머리에도 그렇게 하였으며

7:19 The crowns on the tops of the pillars were ornamented with a design of flowers, and were four cubits across.

7:19 낭실 기둥 꼭대기에 있는 머리의 네 규빗은 백합화 모양으로 만들었으며

7:20 And there were crowns on the two pillars near the round part by the network, and there were two hundred apples in lines round every crown.

7:20 이 두 기둥 머리에 있는 그물 곁 곧 그 머리의 공 같이 둥근 곳으로 돌아가며 각기 석류 이백이 줄을 지었더라

7:21 He put up the pillars at the doorway of the Temple, naming the one on the right Jachin, and that on the left Boaz.

7:21 이 두 기둥을 전의 낭실 앞에 세우되 우편의 기둥을 세우고 그 이름을 야긴이라 하고 좌편의 기둥을 세우고 그 이름을 보아스라 하였으며

7:22 The tops of the pillars had a design of flowers; and the work of making the pillars was complete.

7:22 그 두 기둥 꼭대기에 백합화 형상이 있더라 두 기둥의 공역이 마치니라

7:23 And he made a great metal water-vessel ten cubits across from edge to edge, five cubits high and thirty cubits round.

7:23 ○ 또 바다를 부어 만들었으니 그 직경이 십 규빗이요 그 모양이 둥글며 그 고는 다섯 규빗이요 주위는 삼십 규빗 줄을 두를 만하며

7:24 And under the edge of it, circling it all round for ten cubits, were two lines of flower buds, made together with it from liquid metal.

7:24 그 가장자리 아래에는 돌아가며 박이 있는데 매 규빗에 열 개씩 있어서 바다 주위에 둘렸으니 그 박은 바다를 부어 만들 때에 두 줄로 부어 만들었으며

7:25 It was supported on twelve oxen, with their back parts turned to the middle of it, three of them facing to the north, three to the west, three to the south, and three to the east; the vessel was resting on top of them.

7:25 그 바다를 열 두 소가 받쳤으니 셋은 북을 향하였고 셋은 서를 향하였고 셋은 남을 향하였고 셋은 동을 향하였으며 바다를 그 위에 놓았고 소의 뒤는 다 안으로 두었으며

7:26 It was as thick as a man's open hand, and was curved like the edge of a cup, like the flower of a lily: it would take two thousand baths.

7:26 바다의 두께는 한 손 넓이 만하고 그 가는 백합화의 식양으로 잔 가와 같이 만들었으니 그 바다에는 이천 밧을 담겠더라

7:27 And he made ten wheeled bases of brass; every one four cubits long, four cubits wide, and three cubits high.

7:27 ○ 또 놋으로 받침 열을 만들었으니 매 받침의 장이 네 규빗이요 광이 네 규빗이요 고가 세 규빗이라

7:28 And the bases were made in this way; their sides were square, fixed in a framework;

7:28 그 받침의 제도는 이러하니 사면 옆 변죽 가운데 판이 있고

7:29 And on the square sides between the frames were lions, oxen, and winged ones; and the same on the frame; and over and under the lions and the oxen and the winged ones were steps.

7:29 변죽 가운데 판에는 사자와 소와 그룹들이 있고 또 변죽 위에는 놓는 자리가 있고 사자와 소 아래에는 화환 모양이 있으며

7:30 Every base had four wheels of brass, turning on brass rods, and their four angles had angle-plates under them; the angle-plates under the base were of metal, and there were ornaments at the side of every one.

7:30 그 받침에 각각 네 놋바퀴와 놋축이 있고 받침 네 발 밑에는 어깨 같은 것이 있으며 그 어깨 같은 것은 물두멍 밑편에 부어 만들었고 화환은 각각 그 옆에 있으며

7:31 The mouth of it inside the angle-plate was one cubit across; it was round like a pillar, a cubit and a half across; it had designs cut on it; the sides were square, not round.

7:31 그 받침 위로 들이켜 고가 한 규빗 되게 내민 것이 있고 그 면은 직경 한 규빗 반 되게 반원형으로 우묵하며 그 나머지 면에는 아로새긴 것이 있으며 그 내민 판들은 네모지고 둥글지 아니하며

7:32 The four wheels were under the frames, and the rods on which the wheels were fixed were in the base; the wheels were a cubit and a half high.

7:32 네 바퀴는 옆판 밑에 있고 바퀴 축은 받침에 연하였는데 바퀴의 고는 각각 한 규빗 반이며

7:33 The wheels were made like carriage-wheels, the rods on which they were fixed, the parts forming their edges, their rods and the middle points of them, were all formed out of liquid metal.

7:33 그 바퀴의 제도는 병거 바퀴의 제도 같은데 그 축과 테와 살과 통이 다 부어 만든 것이며

7:34 And there were four angle-plates at the four angles of every base, forming part of the structure of the base.

7:34 받침 네 모퉁이에 어깨 같은 것 넷이 있는데 그 어깨는 받침과 연하였고

7:35 And at the top of the base there was a round vessel, half a cubit high;

7:35 받침 위에 둥근 테두리가 있는데 고가 반 규빗이요 또 받침 위의 버팀대와 옆판들이 받침과 연하였고

7:36 In the spaces of the flat sides and on the frames of them, he made designs of winged ones, lions, and palm-trees, with ornamented edges all round.

7:36 버팀대 판과 옆판에는 각각 빈 곳을 따라 그룹들과 사자와 종려나무를 아로새겼고 또 그 사면으로 화환 모양이 있더라

7:37 All the ten bases were made in this way, after the same design, of the same size and form.

7:37 이와 같이 받침 열을 만들었는데 그 부어 만든 법과 척수와 식양을 다 동일하게 하였더라

7:38 And he made ten brass washing-vessels, everyone taking forty baths, and measuring four cubits; one vessel was placed on every one of the ten bases.

7:38 또 물두멍 열을 놋으로 만들었는데 물두멍마다 각각 사십 밧을 담게 하였으며 매 물두멍의 직경이 네 규빗이라 열 받침 위에 각각 물두멍이 하나씩이더라

7:39 And he put the bases by the house, five on the right side and five on the left; and he put the great water-vessel on the right side of the house, to the east, facing south.

7:39 그 받침 다섯은 전 우편에 두었고 다섯은 전 좌편에 두었고 전 우편 동남에는 그 바다를 두었더라

7:40 And Hiram made the pots and spades and the basins. So Hiram came to the end of all the work he did for King Solomon in the house of the Lord:

7:40 ○ 히람이 또 물두멍과 부삽과 대접들을 만들었더라 이와 같이 히람이 솔로몬 왕을 위하여 여호와의 전의 모든 일을 마쳤으니

7:41 The two pillars and the two cups of the crowns which were on the tops of the two pillars; and the network covering the two cups of the crowns on the tops of the pillars,

7:41 곧 기둥 둘과 그 기둥 꼭대기의 공 같은 머리 둘과 또 기둥 꼭대기의 공 같은 머리를 가리우는 그물 둘과

7:42 And the four hundred apples for the network, two lines of apples for every network, covering the two cups of the crowns on the pillars;

7:42 또 그 그물들을 위하여 만든 바 매 그물에 두 줄씩으로 기둥 위의 공 같은 두 머리를 가리우게 한 사백 석류와

7:43 And the ten bases, with the ten washing-vessels on them;

7:43 또 열 받침과 받침 위의 열 물두멍과

7:44 And the great water-vessel, with the twelve oxen under it;

7:44 한 바다와 그 바다 아래 열 두 소와

7:45 And the pots and the spades and the basins; all the vessels which Hiram made for King Solomon, for the house of the Lord, were of polished brass.

7:45 솥과 부삽과 대접들이라 히람이 솔로몬 왕을 위하여 여호와의 전에 이 모든 그릇을 빛난 놋으로 만드니라

7:46 He made them of liquid metal in the lowland of Jordan, at the way across the river, at Adama, between Succoth and Zarethan.

7:46 왕이 요단 평지에서 숙곳과 사르단 사이의 차진 흙에 그것들을 부어 내었더라

7:47 The weight of all these vessels was not measured, because there was such a number of them; it was not possible to get the weight of the brass.

7:47 기구가 심히 많으므로 솔로몬이 다 달지 아니하고 두었으니 그 놋 중수를 능히 측량할 수 없었더라

7:48 And Solomon had all the vessels made for use in the house of the Lord: the altar of gold and the gold table on which the holy bread was placed;

7:48 ○ 솔로몬이 또 여호와의 전의 모든 기구를 만들었으니 곧 금단과 진설병의 금상과

7:49 And the supports for the lights, five on the right side and five on the left before the inmost room, of clear gold; and the flowers and the lights and all the instruments of gold;

7:49 내소 앞에 좌우로 다섯씩 둘 정금 등대며 또 금꽃과 등잔과 불집게며

7:50 And the cups and the scissors and the basins and the spoons and the fire-trays, all of gold; and the pins on which the doors were turned, the doors of the inner house, the most holy place, and the doors of the Temple, all of gold.

7:50 또 정금 대접과 불집게와 주발과 숟가락과 불을 옮기는 그릇이며 또 내소 곧 지성소 문의 금 돌쩌귀와 전 곧 외소 문의 금 돌쩌귀더라

7:51 So all the work King Solomon had done in the house of the Lord was complete. Then Solomon took the holy things which David his father had given, the silver and the gold and all the vessels, and put them in the store-houses of the house of the Lord.

7:51 ○ 솔로몬 왕이 여호와의 전을 위하여 만드는 모든 것을 마친지라 이에 솔로몬이 그 부친 다윗의 드린 물건 곧 은과 금과 기구들을 가져다가 여호와의 전 곳간에 두었더라

1 Kings

8:1 Then Solomon sent for all the responsible men of Israel, and all the chiefs of the tribes, and the heads of families of the children of Israel, to come to him in Jerusalem to take the ark of the Lord's agreement up out of the town of David, which is Zion.

8:1 이에 솔로몬이 여호와의 언약궤를 다윗 성 곧 시온에서 메어 올리고자 하여 이스라엘 장로와 모든 지파의 두목 곧 이스라엘 자손의 족장들을 예루살렘 자기에게로 소집하니

8:2 And all the men of Israel came together to King Solomon at the feast, in the month Ethanim, the seventh month.

8:2 이스라엘 모든 사람이 다 에다님월 곧 칠 월 절기에 솔로몬 왕에게 모이고

8:3 And all the responsible men of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

8:3 이스라엘 장로들이 다 이르매 제사장들이 궤를 메니라

8:4 They took up the ark of the Lord, and the Tent of meeting, and all the holy vessels which were in the Tent; all these the priests and the Levites took up.

8:4 여호와의 궤와 회막과 성막 안의 모든 거룩한 기구들을 메고 올라가되 제사장과 레위 사람이 그것들을 메고 올라가매

8:5 And King Solomon and all the men of Israel who had come together there, were with him before the ark, making offerings of sheep and oxen more than might be numbered.

8:5 솔로몬 왕과 그 앞에 모인 이스라엘 회중이 저와 함께 궤 앞에 있어 양과 소로 제사를 드렸으니 그 수가 많아 기록할 수도 없고 셀 수도 없었더라

8:6 And the priests took the ark of the agreement of the Lord and put it in its place in the inner room of the house, in the most holy place, under the wings of the winged ones.

8:6 제사장들이 여호와의 언약궤를 그 처소로 메어 들였으니 곧 내전 지성소 그룹들의 날개 아래라

8:7 For their wings were outstretched over the place where the ark was, covering the ark and its rods.

8:7 그룹들이 궤 처소 위에서 날개를 펴서 궤와 그 채를 덮었는데

8:8 The rods were so long that their ends were seen from the holy place, in front of the inmost room; but they were not seen from outside: and there they are to this day.

8:8 채가 긴 고로 채 끝이 내전 앞 성소에서 보이나 밖에서는 보이지 아니하며 그 채는 오늘까지 그곳에 있으며

8:9 There was nothing in the ark but the two flat stones which Moses put there at Horeb, where the Lord made an agreement with the children of Israel when they came out of the land of Egypt.

8:9 궤 안에는 두 돌판 외에 아무 것도 없으니 이것은 이스라엘 자손이 애굽 땅에서 나온 후 여호와께서 저희와 언약을 세우실 때에 모세가 호렙에서 그 안에 넣은 것이더라

8:10 Now when the priests had come out of the holy place, the house of the Lord was full of the cloud,

8:10 제사장이 성소에서 나올 때에 구름이 여호와의 전에 가득하매

8:11 So that the priests were not able to keep their places to do their work because of the cloud, for the house of the Lord was full of the glory of the Lord.

8:11 제사장이 그 구름으로 인하여 능히 서서 섬기지 못하였으니 이는 여호와의 영광이 여호와의 전에 가득함이었더라

8:12 Then Solomon said, O Lord, to the sun you have given the heaven for a living-place, but your living-place was not seen by men;

8:12 ○ 그 때에 솔로몬이 가로되 여호와께서 캄캄한 데 계시겠다 말씀하셨사오나

8:13 So I have made for you a living-place, a house in which you may be for ever present.

8:13 내가 참으로 주를 위하여 계실 전을 건축하였사오니 주께서 영원히 거하실 처소로소이다 하고

8:14 Then, turning his face about, the king gave a blessing to all the men of Israel; and they were all on their feet together.

8:14 얼굴을 돌이켜 이스라엘의 온 회중을 위하여 축복하니 때에 이스라엘의 온 회중이 섰더라

8:15 And he said, Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, who himself gave his word to David my father, and with his strong hand has made his word come true, saying,

8:15 왕이 가로되 이스라엘 하나님 여호와를 송축할지로다 여호와께서 그 입으로 나의 부친 다윗에게 말씀하신 것을 이제 그 손으로 이루셨도다 이르시기를

8:16 From the day when I took my people Israel out of Egypt, no town in all the tribes of Israel has been marked out by me for the building of a house for the resting-place of my name; but I made selection of David to be king over my people Israel.

8:16 내가 내 백성 이스라엘을 애굽에서 인도하여 낸 날부터 내 이름을 둘 만한 집을 건축하기 위하여 이스라엘 모든 지파 가운데서 아무 성읍도 택하지 아니하고 다만 다윗을 택하여 내 백성 이스라엘을 다스리게 하였노라 하신지라

8:17 Now it was in the heart of David my father to put up a house for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel.

8:17 내 부친 다윗이 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 이름을 위하여 전을 건축할 마음이 있었더니

8:18 But the Lord said to David my father, You did well to have in your heart the desire to make a house for my name;

8:18 여호와께서 내 부친 다윗에게 이르시되 네가 내 이름을 위하여 전을 건축할 마음이 있으니 이 마음이 네게 있는 것이 좋도다

8:19 But you yourself will not be the builder of my house; but your son, the offspring of your body, he it is who will put up a house for my name.

8:19 그러나 너는 그 전을 건축하지 못할 것이요 네 몸에서 낳을 네 아들 그가 내 이름을 위하여 전을 건축하리라 하시더니

8:20 And the Lord has made his word come true; for I have taken my father David's place on the seat of the kingdom of Israel, as the Lord gave his word; and I have made a house for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel.

8:20 이제 여호와께서 말씀하신 대로 이루시도다 내가 여호와의 허하신 대로 내 부친 다윗을 대신하여 일어나서 이스라엘 위에 앉고 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 이름을 위하여 전을 건축하고

8:21 In it I have made a place for the ark, in which is the agreement which the Lord made with our fathers, when he took them out of the land of Egypt.

8:21 내가 또 그곳에 우리 열조를 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 내실 때에 저희와 세우신 바 여호와의 언약 넣은 궤를 위하여 한 처소를 설치하였노라

8:22 Then Solomon took his place before the altar of the Lord, all the men of Israel being present, and stretching out his hands to heaven,

8:22 ○ 솔로몬이 여호와의 단 앞에서 이스라엘의 온 회중을 마주서서 하늘을 향하여 손을 펴고

8:23 Said, O Lord, the God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven or on the earth; keeping faith and mercy unchanging for your servants, while they go in your ways with all their hearts.

8:23 가로되 이스라엘 하나님 여호와여 상천하지에 주와 같은 신이 없나이다 주께서는 온 마음으로 주의 앞에서 행하는 종들에게 언약을 지키시고 은혜를 베푸시나이다

8:24 And you have kept the word which you gave to your servant David, my father; with your mouth you said it and with your hand you have made it come true this day.

8:24 주께서 주의 종 내 아비 다윗에게 허하신 말씀을 지키사 주의 입으로 말씀하신 것을 손으로 이루심이 오늘날과 같으니이다

8:25 So now, O Lord, the God of Israel, let your word to your servant David, my father, come true, when you said, You will never be without a man to take his place on the seat of the kingdom of Israel before me, if only your children give attention to their ways, walking before me as you have done.

8:25 이스라엘 하나님 여호와여 주께서 주의 종 내 아비 다윗에게 말씀하시기를 네 자손이 자기 길을 삼가서 네가 내 앞에서 행한 것 같이 내 앞에서 행하기만 하면 네게로 좇아나서 이스라엘 위에 앉을 사람이 내 앞에서 끊어지지 아니하리라 하셨사오니 이제 다윗을 위하여 그 허하신 말씀을 지키시옵소서

8:26 So now, O God of Israel, it is my prayer that you will make your word come true which you said to your servant David, my father.

8:26 그런즉 이스라엘 하나님이여 원컨대 주는 주의 종 내 아비 다윗에게 하신 말씀이 확실하게 하옵소서

8:27 But is it truly possible that God may be housed on earth? see, heaven and the heaven of heavens are not wide enough to be your resting-place; how much less this house which I have made!

8:27 ○ 하나님이 참으로 땅에 거하시리이까 하늘과 하늘들의 하늘이라도 주를 용납지 못하겠거든 하물며 내가 건축한 이 전이오리이까

8:28 Still, let your heart be turned to the prayer of your servant, O Lord God, and to his prayer for grace; give ear to the cry and the prayer which your servant sends up to you this day;

8:28 그러나 나의 하나님 여호와여 종의 기도와 간구를 돌아보시며 종이 오늘날 주의 앞에서 부르짖음과 비는 기도를 들으시옵소서

8:29 That your eyes may be open to this house night and day, to this place of which you have said, My name will be there; hearing the prayer which your servant may make, turning to this place.

8:29 주께서 전에 말씀하시기를 내 이름이 거기 있으리라 하신 곳 이 전을 향하여 주의 눈이 주야로 보옵시며 종이 이곳을 향하여 비는 기도를 들으시옵소서

8:30 Give ear to the prayers of your servant, and the prayers of your people Israel, when they make their prayers, turning to this place; give ear in heaven your living-place, and hearing, have mercy.

8:30 종과 주의 백성 이스라엘이 이곳을 향하여 기도할 때에 주는 그 간구함을 들으시되 주의 계신 곳 하늘에서 들으시고 들으시사 사하여 주옵소서

8:31 If a man does wrong to his neighbour, and has to take an oath, and comes before your altar to take his oath in this house:

8:31 ○ 만일 어떤 사람이 그 이웃에게 범죄함으로 맹세시킴을 받고 저가 와서 이 전에 있는 주의 단 앞에서 맹세하거든

8:32 Then let your ear be open in heaven, and be the judge of your servants, giving your decision against the wrongdoer, so that punishment for his sins may come on his head; and, by your decision, keeping from evil him who has done no wrong.

8:32 주는 하늘에서 들으시고 행하시되 주의 종들을 국문하사 악한 자의 죄를 정하여 그 행위대로 그 머리에 돌리시고 의로운 자를 의롭다 하사 그 의로운 대로 갚으시옵소서

8:33 When your people Israel are overcome in war, because of their sin against you; if they are turned to you again, honouring your name, making prayers to you and requesting your grace in this house:

8:33 ○ 만일 주의 백성 이스라엘이 주께 범죄하여 적국 앞에 패하게 되므로 주께로 돌아와서 주의 이름을 인정하고 이 전에서 주께 빌며 간구하거든

8:34 Then give ear in heaven, and let the sin of your people Israel have forgiveness, and take them back again into the land which you gave to their fathers.

8:34 주는 하늘에서 들으시고 주의 백성 이스라엘의 죄를 사하시고 그 열조에게 주신 땅으로 돌아오게 하옵소서

8:35 When heaven is shut up and there is no rain, because of their sin against you; if they make prayers with their faces turned to this place, honouring your name and turning away from their sin when you send trouble on them:

8:35 ○ 만일 저희가 주께 범죄함을 인하여 하늘이 닫히고 비가 없어서 주의 벌을 받을 때에 이곳을 향하여 빌며 주의 이름을 인정하고 그 죄에서 떠나거든

8:36 Then give ear in heaven, so that the sin of your servants, and of your people Israel, may have forgiveness, when you make clear to them the good way in which they are to go; and send rain on your land which you have given to your people for their heritage.

8:36 주는 하늘에서 들으사 주의 종들과 주의 백성 이스라엘의 죄를 사하시고 그 마땅히 행할 선한 길을 가르쳐 주옵시며 주의 백성에게 기업으로 주신 주의 땅에 비를 내리시옵소서

8:37 If there is no food in the land, or if there is disease, or if the fruits of the earth are damaged through heat or water, locust or worm; if their towns are shut in by their attackers; whatever trouble, whatever disease there may be:

8:37 ○ 만일 이 땅에 기근이나 온역이 있거나 곡식이 시들거나 깜부기가 나거나 메뚜기나 황충이 나거나 적국이 와서 성읍을 에워싸거나 무슨 재앙이나 무슨 질병이 있든지 무론하고

8:38 Whatever prayer or request for your grace is made by any man, or by all your people Israel, whatever his trouble may be, whose hands are stretched out to this house:

8:38 한 사람이나 혹 주의 온 백성 이스라엘이 다 각각 자기의 마음에 재앙을 깨닫고 이 전을 향하여 손을 펴고 무슨 기도나 무슨 간구를 하거든

8:39 Give ear in heaven your living-place, acting in mercy; and give to every man whose secret heart is open to you, the reward of all his ways; for you, and you only, have knowledge of the hearts of all the children of men:

8:39 주는 계신 곳 하늘에서 들으시고 사유하시며 각 사람의 마음을 아시오니 그 모든 행위대로 행하사 갚으시옵소서 주만 홀로 인생의 마음을 다 아심이니이다

8:40 So that they may give you worship all the days of their life in the land which you gave to our fathers.

8:40 그리하시면 저희가 주께서 우리 열조에게 주신 땅에서 사는 동안에 항상 주를 경외하리이다

8:41 And as for the man from a strange land, who is not of your people Israel; when he comes from a far country because of the glory of your name:

8:41 ○ 또 주의 백성 이스라엘에 속하지 아니한 자 곧 주의 이름을 위하여 먼 지방에서 온 이방인이라도

8:42 (For they will have news of your great name and your strong hand and your out-stretched arm;) when he comes to make his prayer, turning to this house:

8:42 저희가 주의 광대한 이름과 주의 능한 손과 주의 펴신 팔의 소문을 듣고 와서 이 전을 향하여 기도하거든

8:43 Give ear in heaven your living-place, and give him his desire, whatever it may be; so that all the peoples of the earth may have knowledge of your name, worshipping you as do your people Israel, and that they may see that this house which I have put up is truly named by your name.

8:43 주는 계신 곳 하늘에서 들으시고 무릇 이방인이 주께 부르짖는 대로 이루사 땅의 만민으로 주의 이름을 알고 주의 백성 이스라엘처럼 경외하게 하옵시며 또 내가 건축한 이 전을 주의 이름으로 일컫는 줄을 알게 하옵소서

8:44 If your people go out to war against their attackers, by whatever way you may send them, if they make their prayer to the Lord, turning their faces to this town of yours and to this house which I have made for your name:

8:44 ○ 주의 백성이 그 적국으로 더불어 싸우고자 하여 주의 보내신 길로 나갈 때에 저희가 주의 빼신 성과 내가 주의 이름을 위하여 건축한 전 있는 편을 향하여 여호와께 기도하거든

8:45 Give ear in heaven to their prayer and their cry for grace, and see right done to them.

8:45 주는 하늘에서 저희의 기도와 간구를 들으시고 그 일을 돌아보옵소서

8:46 If they do wrong against you, (for no man is without sin,) and you are angry with them and give them up into the power of those who are fighting against them, so that they take them away as prisoners into a strange land, far off or near;

8:46 ○ 범죄치 아니하는 사람이 없사오니 저희가 주께 범죄함으로 주께서 저희에게 진노하사 저희를 적국에게 붙이시매 적국이 저희를 사로잡아 원근을 물론하고 적국의 땅으로 끌어간 후에

8:47 And if they take thought, in the land where they are prisoners, and are turned again to you, crying out in prayer to you in that land, and saying, We are sinners, we have done wrong, we have done evil;

8:47 저희가 사로잡혀 간 땅에서 스스로 깨닫고 그 사로잡은 자의 땅에서 돌이켜 주께 간구하기를 우리가 범죄하여 패역을 행하며 악을 지었나이다 하며

8:48 And with all their heart and soul are turned again to you, in the land of those who took them prisoners, and make their prayer to you, turning their eyes to this land which you gave to their fathers, and to the town which you took for yourself, and the house which I made for your name:

8:48 자기를 사로잡아 간 적국의 땅에서 온 마음과 온 뜻으로 주께 돌아와서 주께서 그 열조에게 주신 땅 곧 주의 빼신 성과 내가 주의 이름을 위하여 건축한 전 있는 편을 향하여 주께 기도하거든

8:49 Then give ear to their prayer and to their cry in heaven your living-place, and see right done to them;

8:49 주는 계신 곳 하늘에서 저희 기도와 간구를 들으시고 저희의 일을 돌아보옵시며

8:50 Answering with forgiveness the people who have done wrong against you, and overlooking the evil which they have done against you; let those who made them prisoners be moved with pity for them, and have pity on them;

8:50 주께 범죄한 백성을 용서하시며 주께 범한 그 모든 허물을 사하시고 저희를 사로잡아 간 자의 앞에서 저희로 불쌍히 여김을 얻게 하사 그 사람들로 저희를 불쌍히 여기게 하옵소서

8:51 For they are your people and your heritage, which you took out of Egypt, out of the iron fireplace;

8:51 저희는 주께서 철 풀무 같은 애굽에서 인도하여 내신 주의 백성, 주의 산업이 됨이니이다

8:52 Let your eyes be open to your servant's prayer for grace and to the prayer of your people Israel, hearing them when their cry comes to you.

8:52 원컨대 주는 눈을 들어 종의 간구함과 주의 백성 이스라엘의 간구함을 보시고 무릇 주께 부르짖는 대로 들으시옵소서

8:53 For you made them separate from all the peoples of the earth, to be your heritage, as you said by Moses your servant, when you took our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord God.

8:53 주 여호와여 주께서 우리 조상을 애굽에서 인도하여 내실 때에 주의 종 모세로 말씀하심 같이 주께서 세상 만민 가운데서 저희를 구별하여 주의 산업을 삼으셨나이다

8:54 Then Solomon, after making all these prayers and requests for grace to the Lord, got up from his knees before the altar of the Lord, where his hands had been stretched out in prayer to heaven;

8:54 ○ 솔로몬이 무릎을 끓고 손을 펴서 하늘을 향하여 이 기도와 간구로 여호와께 아뢰기를 마치고 여호와의 단 앞에서 일어나

8:55 And, getting on his feet, he gave a blessing to all the men of Israel, saying with a loud voice,

8:55 서서 큰 소리로 이스라엘의 온 회중을 위하여 축복하며 가로되

8:56 Praise be to the Lord who has given rest to his people Israel, as he gave them his word to do; every word of all his oath, which he gave by the hand of Moses his servant, has come true.

8:56 여호와를 찬송할지로다 저가 무릇 허하신 대로 그 백성 이스라엘에게 태평을 주셨으니 그 종 모세를 빙자하여 무릇 허하신 그 선한 말씀이 하나도 이루지 않음이 없도다

8:57 Now may the Lord our God be with us as he was with our fathers; let him never go away from us or give us up;

8:57 우리 하나님 여호와께서 우리 열조와 함께 계시던 것 같이 우리와 함께 계시옵고 우리를 떠나지 마옵시며 버리지 마옵시고

8:58 Turning our hearts to himself, guiding us to go in all his ways, to keep his orders and his laws and his decisions, which he gave to our fathers.

8:58 우리의 마음을 자기에게로 향하여 그 모든 길로 행하게 하옵시며 우리 열조에게 명하신 계명과 법도와 율례를 지키게 하시기를 원하오며

8:59 And may these my words, the words of my prayer to the Lord, be before the Lord our God day and night, so that he may see right done to his servant and to his people Israel, day by day as we have need.

8:59 여호와의 앞에서 나의 간구한 이 말씀을 주야로 우리 하나님 여호와께 가까이 있게 하옵시고 또 주의 종의 일과 주의 백성 이스라엘의 일을 날마다 당하는 대로 돌아보사

8:60 So that all the peoples of the earth may see that the Lord is God, and there is no other.

8:60 이에 세상 만민에게 여호와께서만 하나님이시고 그 외에는 없는 줄을 알게 하시기를 원하노라

8:61 Then let your hearts be without sin before the Lord our God, walking in his laws and keeping his orders as at this day.

8:61 ○ 그런즉 너희 마음을 우리 하나님 여호와와 화합하여 완전케 하여 오늘날과 같이 그 법도를 행하며 그 계명을 지킬지어다

8:62 Now the king, and all Israel with him, were making offerings before the Lord.

8:62 이에 왕과 왕과 함께 한 이스라엘이 다 여호와 앞에 희생을 드리니라

8:63 And Solomon gave to the Lord for peace-offerings, twenty-two thousand oxen and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel kept the feast of the opening of the Lord's house.

8:63 솔로몬이 화목제의 희생을 드렸으니 곧 여호와께 드린 소가 이만 이천이요 양이 십이만이라 이와 같이 왕과 모든 이스라엘 자손이 여호와의 전의 낙성식을 행하였는데

8:64 The same day the king made holy the middle of the open square in front of the house of the Lord, offering there the burned offering and the meal offering and the fat of the peace-offerings; for there was not room on the brass altar of the Lord for the burned offerings and the meal offerings and the fat of the peace-offerings.

8:64 그 날에 왕이 여호와의 전 앞뜰 가운데를 거룩히 구별하고 거기서 번제와 소제와 감사제의 기름을 드렸으니 이는 여호와의 앞 놋단이 작으므로 번제물과 소제물과 화목제의 기름을 다 용납할 수 없음이라

8:65 So Solomon and all Israel with him, a very great meeting, (for the people had come together from the way into Hamath to the river of Egypt,) kept the feast at that time before the Lord our God, for two weeks, even fourteen days.

8:65 그 때에 솔로몬이 칠 일 칠 일 합 십 사 일을 우리 하나님 여호와 앞에서 절기로 지켰는데 하맛 어귀에서부터 애굽 하수까지의 온 이스라엘의 큰 회중이 모여 저와 함께 하였더니

8:66 And on the eighth day he sent the people away, and, blessing the king, they went to their tents full of joy and glad in their hearts, because of all the good which the Lord had done to David his servant and to Israel his people.

8:66 제 팔 일에 솔로몬이 백성을 돌려보내매 백성이 왕을 위하여 축복하고 자기 장막으로 돌아가는데 여호와께서 그 종 다윗과 그 백성 이스라엘에게 베푸신 모든 은혜를 인하여 기뻐하며 마음에 즐거워하였더라

1 Kings

9:1 Now when Solomon came to the end of building the house of the Lord and the king's house, and all Solomon's desires, which he had in mind were effected;

9:1 솔로몬이 여호와의 전과 왕궁 건축하기를 마치며 자기의 무릇 이루기를 원하던 일이 마친 때에

9:2 The Lord came to him again in a vision, as he had done at Gibeon;

9:2 여호와께서 전에 기브온에서 나타나심 같이 다시 솔로몬에게 나타나사

9:3 And the Lord said to him, Your prayers and your requests for grace have come to my ears: I have made holy this house which you have made, and I have put my name there for ever; my eyes and my heart will be there at all times.

9:3 저에게 이르시되 네가 내 앞에서 기도하며 간구함을 내가 들었은즉 내가 너의 건축한 이 전을 거룩하게 구별하여 나의 이름을 영영히 그곳에 두며 나의 눈과 나의 마음이 항상 거기 있으리니

9:4 As for you, if you will go on your way before me, as David your father did, uprightly and with a true heart, doing what I have given you orders to do, keeping my laws and my decisions;

9:4 네가 만일 네 아비 다윗의 행함 같이 마음을 온전히 하고 바르게 하여 내 앞에서 행하며 내가 네게 명한 대로 온갖 것을 순종하여 나의 법도와 율례를 지키면

9:5 Then I will make the seat of your rule over Israel certain for ever, as I gave my word to David your father, saying, You will never be without a man to be king in Israel.

9:5 내가 네 아비 다윗에게 허하여 이르기를 이스라엘 위에 오를 사람이 네게서 끊어지지 아니하리라 한 대로 너의 이스라엘의 왕위를 영원히 견고하게 하려니와

9:6 But if you are turned from my ways, you or your children, and do not keep my orders and my laws which I have put before you, but go and make yourselves servants to other gods and give them worship:

9:6 만일 너희나 너희 자손이 아주 돌이켜 나를 좇지 아니하며 내가 너희 앞에 둔 나의 계명과 법도를 지키지 아니하고 가서 다른 신을 섬겨 그것을 숭배하면

9:7 Then I will have Israel cut off from the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have made holy for myself, I will put away from before my eyes; and Israel will be a public example, and a word of shame among all peoples.

9:7 내가 이스라엘을 나의 준 땅에서 끊어버릴 것이요 내 이름을 위하여 내가 거룩하게 구별한 이 전이라도 내 앞에서 던져버리리니 이스라엘은 모든 민족 가운데 속담거리와 이야기거리가 될 것이며

9:8 And this house will become a mass of broken walls, and everyone who goes by will be overcome with wonder at it and make whistling sounds; and they will say, Why has the Lord done so to this land and to this house?

9:8 이 전이 높을지라도 무릇 그리로 지나가는 자가 놀라며 비웃어 가로되 여호와께서 무슨 까닭으로 이 땅과 이 전에 이같이 행하셨는고 하면

9:9 And their answer will be, Because they were turned away from the Lord their God, who took their fathers out of the land of Egypt; they took for themselves other gods and gave them worship and became their servants: that is why the Lord has sent all this evil on them.

9:9 대답하기를 저희가 자기 열조를 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 내신 자기 하나님 여호와를 버리고 다른 신에게 부종하여 그를 숭배하여 섬기므로 여호와께서 이 모든 재앙을 저희에게 내리심이라 하리라 하셨더라

9:10 Now at the end of twenty years, in which time Solomon had put up the two houses, the house of the Lord and the king's house,

9:10 ○ 솔로몬이 두 집 곧 여호와의 전과 왕궁을 이십 년 만에 건축하기를 마치고

9:11 (Hiram, king of Tyre, had given Solomon cedar-trees and cypress-trees and gold, as much as he had need of,) King Solomon gave Hiram twenty towns in the land of Galilee.

9:11 갈릴리 땅의 성읍 이십을 히람에게 주었으니 이는 두로 왕 히람이 솔로몬에게 그 온갖 소원대로 백향목과 잣나무와 금을 지공하였음이라

9:12 But when Hiram came from Tyre to see the towns which Solomon had given him, he was not pleased with them.

9:12 히람이 두로에서 와서 솔로몬이 자기에게 준 성읍들을 보고 눈에 들지 아니하여

9:13 And he said, What sort of towns are these which you have given me, my brother? So they were named the land of Cabul, to this day.

9:13 이르기를 나의 형이여 내게 준 이 성읍들이 이러하뇨 하고 이름하여 가불 땅이라 하였더니 그 이름이 오늘까지 있으니라

9:14 And Hiram sent the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold.

9:14 히람이 금 일백 이십 달란트를 왕에게 보내었더라

9:15 Now, this was the way of Solomon's system of forced work for the building of the Lord's house and of the king's house, and the Millo and the wall of Jerusalem and Megiddo and Gezer. ...

9:15 ○ 솔로몬 왕이 역군을 일으킨 까닭은 여호와의 전과 자기 궁과 밀로와 예루살렘 성과 하솔과 므깃도와 게셀을 건축하려 하였음이라

9:16 Pharaoh, king of Egypt, came and took Gezer, burning it down and putting to death the Canaanites living in the town, and he gave it for a bride-offering to his daughter, Solomon's wife. ...

9:16 전에 애굽 왕 바로가 올라와서 게셀을 탈취하여 불사르고 그 성에 사는 가나안 사람을 죽이고 그 성읍을 자기 딸 솔로몬의 아내에게 예물로 주었더니

9:17 ... and Solomon was the builder of Gezer and Beth-horon the lower,

9:17 솔로몬이 게셀과 아래 벧호론을 건축하고

9:18 And Baalath and Tamar in the waste land, in that land;

9:18 또 바알랏과 그 땅의 들에 있는 다드몰과

9:19 And all the store-towns and the towns which Solomon had for his war-carriages and for his horsemen, and everything which it was his pleasure to put up in Jerusalem and in Lebanon and in all the land under his rule.

9:19 자기에게 있는 모든 국고성과 병거성들과 마병의 성들을 건축하고 솔로몬이 또 예루살렘과 레바논과 그 다스리는 온 땅에 건축하고자 하던 것을 다 건축하였는데

9:20 As for the rest of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not children of Israel;

9:20 무릇 이스라엘 자손이 아닌 아모리 사람과 헷 사람과 브리스 사람과 히위 사람과 여부스 사람의 남아 있는 자

9:21 Their children who were still in the land, and whom the children of Israel had not been able to put to complete destruction, them did Solomon put to forced work, to this day.

9:21 곧 이스라엘 자손이 다 멸하지 못하므로 그 땅에 남아 있는 그 자손들을 솔로몬이 노예로 역군을 삼아 오늘까지 이르렀으되

9:22 But Solomon did not put the children of Israel to forced work; they were the men of war, his servants, his captains, and his chiefs, captains of his war-carriages and of his horsemen.

9:22 오직 이스라엘 자손은 솔로몬이 노예를 삼지 아니하였으니 저희는 군사와 그 신복과 방백과 대장이며 병거와 마병의 장관이 됨이었더라

9:23 These were the chiefs of the overseers of Solomon's work, five hundred and fifty, in authority over the people who did the work.

9:23 ○ 솔로몬에게 역사를 감독하는 두목 오백 오십 인이 있어 역사하는 백성을 다스렸더라

9:24 At that time Solomon made Pharaoh's daughter come up from the town of David to the house which he had made for her: then he made the Millo.

9:24 ○ 바로의 딸이 다윗 성에서부터 올라와 솔로몬이 저를 위하여 건축한 궁에 이를 때에 솔로몬이 밀로를 건축하였더라

9:25 Three times in the year it was Solomon's way to give burned offerings and peace-offerings on the altar he had made to the Lord, causing his fire-offering to go up on the altar before the Lord.

9:25 ○ 솔로몬이 여호와를 위하여 쌓은 단 위에 해마다 세 번씩 번제와 감사제를 드리고 또 여호와 앞에 있는 단에 분향하니라 이에 전 역사가 마치니라

9:26 And King Solomon made a sea-force of ships in Ezion-geber, by Eloth, on the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.

9:26 ○ 솔로몬 왕이 에돔 땅 홍해 물 가 엘롯 근처 에시온게벨에서 배들을 지은지라

9:27 Hiram sent his servants, who were experienced seamen, in the sea-force with Solomon's men.

9:27 히람이 자기 종 곧 바다에 익숙한 사공들을 솔로몬의 종과 함께 그 배로 보내매

9:28 And they came to Ophir, where they got four hundred and twenty talents of gold, and took it back to King Solomon.

9:28 저희가 오빌에 이르러 거기서 금 사백 이십 달란트를 얻고 솔로몬 왕에게로 가져왔더라

1 Kings

10:1 Now the queen of Sheba, hearing great things of Solomon, came to put his wisdom to the test with hard questions.

10:1 스바 여왕이 여호와의 이름으로 말미암은 솔로몬의 명예를 듣고 와서 어려운 문제로 저를 시험코자 하여

10:2 And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels weighted down with spices, and stores of gold and jewels: and when she came to Solomon she had talk with him of everything in her mind.

10:2 예루살렘에 이르니 수원이 심히 많고 향품과 심히 많은 금과 보석을 약대에 실었더라 저가 솔로몬에게 나아와 자기 마음에 있는 것을 다 말하매

10:3 And Solomon gave her answers to all her questions; there was no secret which the king did not make clear to her.

10:3 솔로몬이 그 묻는 말을 다 대답하였으니 왕이 은미하여 대답지 못한 것이 없었더라

10:4 And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house which he had made,

10:4 스바 여왕이 솔로몬의 모든 지혜와 그 건축한 궁과

10:5 And the food at his table, and all his servants seated there, and those who were waiting on him in their places, and their robes, and his wine-servants, and the burned offerings which he made in the house of the Lord, there was no more spirit in her.

10:5 그 상의 식물과 그 신복들의 좌석과 그 신하들의 시립한 것과 그들의 공복과 술 관원들과 여호와의 전에 올라가는 층계를 보고 정신이 현황하여

10:6 And she said to the king, The account which was given to me in my country of your acts and your wisdom was true.

10:6 왕께 고하되 내가 내 나라에서 당신의 행위와 당신의 지혜에 대하여 들은 소문이 진실하도다

10:7 But I had no faith in what was said about you, till I came and saw for myself; and now I see that it was not half the story; your wisdom and your wealth are much greater than they said.

10:7 내가 그 말들을 믿지 아니하였더니 이제 와서 목도한즉 내게 말한 것은 절반도 못되니 당신의 지혜와 복이 나의 들은 소문에 지나도다

10:8 Happy are your wives, happy are these your servants whose place is ever before you, hearing your words of wisdom.

10:8 복되도다 당신의 사람들이여 복되도다 당신의 이 신복들이여 항상 당신의 앞에 서서 당신의 지혜를 들음이로다

10:9 May the Lord your God be praised, whose pleasure it was to put you on the seat of the kingdom of Israel; because the Lord's love for Israel is eternal, he has made you king, to be their judge in righteousness.

10:9 당신의 하나님 여호와를 송축할지로다 여호와께서 당신을 기뻐하사 이스라엘 위에 올리셨고 여호와께서 영영히 이스라엘을 사랑하시므로 당신을 세워 왕을 삼아 공과 의를 행하게 하셨도다 하고

10:10 And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and a great store of spices and jewels: never again was such a wealth of spices seen as that which the queen of Sheba gave King Solomon.

10:10 이에 저가 금 일백 이십 달란트와 심히 많은 향품과 보석을 왕께 드렸으니 스바 여왕이 솔로몬 왕께 드린 것처럼 많은 향품이 다시 오지 아니하였더라

10:11 And the sea-force of Hiram, in addition to gold from Ophir, came back with much sandal-wood and jewels.

10:11 ○ [오빌에서부터 금을 실어 온 히람의 배들이 오빌에서 많은 백단목과 보석을 운반하여 오매

10:12 And from the sandal-wood the king made pillars for the house of the Lord, and for the king's house, and instruments of music for the makers of melody: never has such sandal-wood been seen to this day.

10:12 왕이 백단목으로 여호와의 전과 왕궁의 난간을 만들고 또 노래하는 자를 위하여 수금과 비파를 만들었으니 이같은 백단목은 전에도 온 일이 없었고 오늘까지도 보지 못하였더라]

10:13 And King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she made request for, in addition to what he gave her freely from the impulse of his heart. So she went back to her country, she and her servants.

10:13 솔로몬 왕이 왕의 규례대로 스바 여왕에게 물건을 준 외에 또 저의 소원대로 무릇 구하는 것을 주니 이에 저가 그 신복들로 더불어 본국으로 돌아갔더라

10:14 Now the weight of gold which came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents;

10:14 ○ 솔로몬의 세입금의 중수가 육백 육십 육 금 달란트요

10:15 In addition to what came to him from the business of the traders, and from all the kings of the Arabians, and from the rulers of the country.

10:15 그 외에 또 상고와 무역하는 객상과 아라비아 왕들과 나라의 방백들에게서도 가져온지라

10:16 And Solomon made two hundred body-covers of hammered gold, every one having six hundred shekels of gold in it.

10:16 솔로몬 왕이 쳐서 늘인 금으로 큰 방패 이백을 만들었으니 매 방패에 든 금이 육백 세겔이며

10:17 And he made three hundred smaller body-covers of hammered gold, with three pounds of gold in every cover: and the king put them in the house of the Woods of Lebanon.

10:17 또 쳐서 늘인 금으로 작은 방패 삼백을 만들었으니 매 방패에 든 금이 삼 마네라 왕이 이것들을 레바논 나무 궁에 두었더라

10:18 Then the king made a great ivory seat, plated with the best gold.

10:18 왕이 또 상아로 큰 보좌를 만들고 정금으로 입혔으니

10:19 There were six steps going up to it, and the top of it was round at the back, there were arms on the two sides of the seat, and two lions by the side of the arms;

10:19 그 보좌에는 여섯 층계가 있고 보좌 뒤에 둥근 머리가 있고 앉는 자리 양편에는 팔걸이가 있고 팔걸이 곁에는 사자가 하나씩 섰으며

10:20 And twelve lions were placed on the one side and on the other side on the six steps: there was nothing like it in any kingdom.

10:20 또 열 두 사자가 있어 그 여섯 층계 좌우편에 섰으니 아무 나라에도 이같이 만든 것이 없었더라

10:21 And all King Solomon's drinking-vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the Woods of Lebanon were of the best gold; not one was of silver, for no one gave a thought to silver in the days of King Solomon.

10:21 솔로몬 왕의 마시는 그릇은 다 금이요 레바논 나무 궁의 그릇들도 다 정금이라 은 기물이 없으니 솔로몬의 시대에 은을 귀히 여기지 아니함은

10:22 For the king had Tarshish-ships at sea with the ships of Hiram; once every three years the Tarshish-ships came with gold and silver and ivory and monkeys and peacocks.

10:22 왕이 바다에 다시스 배들을 두어 히람의 배와 함께 있게 하고 그 다시스 배로 삼 년에 일 차씩 금과 은과 상아와 잔나비와 공작을 실어 왔음이더라

10:23 And King Solomon was greater than all the kings of the earth in wealth and in wisdom.

10:23 ○ 솔로몬 왕의 재산과 지혜가 천하 열왕보다 큰지라

10:24 And from all over the earth they came to see Solomon and to give ear to his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

10:24 천하가 다 하나님께서 솔로몬의 마음에 주신 지혜를 들으며 그 얼굴을 보기 원하여

10:25 And everyone took with him an offering, vessels of silver and vessels of gold, and robes, and coats of metal, and spices, and horses, and beasts of transport, regularly year by year.

10:25 각기 예물을 가지고 왔으니 곧 은 그릇과 금 그릇과 의복과 갑옷과 향품과 말과 노새라 해마다 정한 수가 있었더라

10:26 And Solomon got together war-carriages and horsemen; he had one thousand, four hundred carriages and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he kept, some in the carriage-towns and some with the king at Jerusalem.

10:26 ○ 솔로몬이 병거와 마병을 모으매 병거가 일천 사백이요 마병이 일만 이천이라 병거성에도 두고 예루살렘 왕에게도 두었으며

10:27 And the king made silver as common as stones in Jerusalem and cedars like the sycamore-trees of the lowlands in number.

10:27 왕이 예루살렘에서 은을 돌 같이 흔하게 하고 백향목을 평지의 뽕나무 같이 많게 하였더라

10:28 And Solomon's horses came from Egypt and from Kue; the king's traders got them at a price from Kue.

10:28 솔로몬의 말들은 애굽에서 내어왔으니 왕의 상고들이 떼로 정가하여 산 것이며

10:29 A war-carriage might be got from Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty; they got them at the same rate for all the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Aram.

10:29 애굽에서 내어올린 병거는 하나에 은 육백 세겔이요 말은 일백 오십 세겔이라 이와 같이 헷 사람의 모든 왕과 아람 왕들을 위하여도 그 손으로 내어왔더라

1 Kings

11:1 Now a number of strange women were loved by Solomon, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites:

11:1 솔로몬 왕이 바로의 딸 외에 이방의 많은 여인을 사랑하였으니 곧 모압과 암몬과 에돔과 시돈과 헷 여인이라

11:2 The nations of which the Lord had said to the children of Israel, You are not to take wives from them and they are not to take wives from you; or they will certainly make you go after their gods: to these Solomon was united in love.

11:2 여호와께서 일찌기 이 여러 국민에게 대하여 이스라엘 자손에게 말씀하시기를 너희는 저희와 서로 통하지 말며 저희도 너희와 서로 통하게 말라 저희가 정녕코 너희의 마음을 돌이켜 저희의 신들을 좇게 하리라 하셨으나 솔로몬이 저희를 연애하였더라

11:3 He had seven hundred wives, daughters of kings, and three hundred other wives; and through his wives his heart was turned away.

11:3 왕은 후비가 칠백 인이요 빈장이 삼백 인이라 왕비들이 왕의 마음을 돌이켰더라

11:4 For it came about that when Solomon was old, his heart was turned away to other gods by his wives; and his heart was no longer true to the Lord his God as the heart of his father David had been.

11:4 솔로몬의 나이 늙을 때에 왕비들이 그 마음을 돌이켜 다른 신들을 좇게 하였으므로 왕의 마음이 그 부친 다윗의 마음과 같지 아니하여 그 하나님 여호와 앞에 온전치 못하였으니

11:5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Zidonians, and Milcom, the disgusting god of the Ammonites.

11:5 이는 시돈 사람의 여신 아스다롯을 좇고 암몬 사람의 가증한 밀곰을 좇음이라

11:6 And Solomon did evil in the eyes of the Lord, not walking in the Lord's ways with all his heart as David his father did.

11:6 솔로몬이 여호와의 눈 앞에서 악을 행하여 그 부친 다윗이 여호와를 온전히 좇음 같이 좇지 아니하고

11:7 Then Solomon put up a high place for Chemosh, the disgusting god of Moab, in the mountain before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the disgusting god worshipped by the children of Ammon.

11:7 모압의 가증한 그모스를 위하여 예루살렘 앞 산에 산당을 지었고 또 암몬 자손의 가증한 몰록을 위하여 그와 같이 하였으며

11:8 And so he did for all his strange wives, who made offerings with burning of perfumes to their gods.

11:8 저가 또 이족 후비들을 위하여 다 그와 같이 한지라 저희가 자기의 신들에게 분향하며 제사하였더라

11:9 And the Lord was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had twice come to him in a vision;

11:9 ○ 솔로몬이 마음을 돌이켜 이스라엘 하나님 여호와를 떠나므로 여호와께서 저에게 진노하시니라 여호와께서 일찌기 두 번이나 저에게 나타나시고

11:10 And had given him orders about this very thing, that he was not to go after other gods; but he did not keep the orders of the Lord.

11:10 이 일에 대하여 명하사 다른 신을 좇지 말라 하셨으나 저가 여호와의 명령을 지키지 않았으므로

11:11 So the Lord said to Solomon, Because you have done this, and have not kept my agreement and my laws, which I gave you, I will take the kingdom away from you by force and will give it to your servant.

11:11 여호와께서 솔로몬에게 말씀하시되 네게 이러한 일이 있었고 또 네가 나의 언약과 내가 네게 명한 법도를 지키지 아니하였으니 내가 결단코 이 나라를 네게서 빼앗아 네 신복에게 주리라

11:12 I will not do it in your life-time, because of your father David, but I will take it from your son.

11:12 그러나 네 아비 다윗을 위하여 네 세대에는 이 일을 행치 아니하고 네 아들의 손에서 빼앗으려니와

11:13 Still I will not take all the kingdom from him; but I will give one tribe to your son, because of my servant David, and because of Jerusalem, the town of my selection.

11:13 오직 내가 이 나라를 다 빼앗지 아니하고 나의 종 다윗과 나의 뺀 예루살렘을 위하여 한 지파를 네 아들에게 주리라 하셨더라

11:14 So the Lord sent Hadad the Edomite to make trouble for Solomon: he was of the king's seed in Edom.

11:14 ○ 여호와께서 에돔 사람 하닷을 일으켜 솔로몬의 대적이 되게 하시니 저는 왕의 자손으로서 에돔에 거하였더라

11:15 And when David had sent destruction on Edom, and Joab, the captain of the army, had gone to put the dead into the earth, and had put to death every male in Edom;

11:15 전에 다윗이 에돔에 있을 때에 군대 장관 요압이 가서 죽임을 당한 자들을 장사하고 에돔의 남자를 다 쳐서 죽였는데

11:16 (For Joab and all Israel were there six months till every male in Edom had been cut off;)

11:16 요압은 에돔의 남자를 다 없이 하기까지 이스라엘 무리와 함께 여섯 달을 그곳에 유하였었더라

11:17 Hadad, being still a young boy, went in flight to Egypt, with certain Edomites, servants of his father;

11:17 그 때에 하닷은 작은 아이라 그 아비의 신복 중 두어 에돔 사람과 함께 도망하여 애굽으로 가려 하여

11:18 And they went on from Midian and came to Paran; and, taking men from Paran with them, they came to Egypt, to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, who gave him a house and gave orders for his food and gave him land.

11:18 미디안에서 발행하여 바란에 이르고 거기서 사람을 데리고 애굽으로 가서 애굽 왕 바로에게 나아가매 바로가 저에게 집을 주고 먹을 양식을 정하며 또 토지를 주었더라

11:19 Now Hadad was very pleasing to Pharaoh, so that he gave him the sister of his wife, Tahpenes the queen, for his wife.

11:19 하닷이 바로의 눈 앞에 크게 은총을 얻었으므로 바로가 자기의 처제 곧 왕비 다브네스의 아우로 저의 아내를 삼으매

11:20 And the sister of Tahpenes had a son by him, Genubath, whom Tahpenes took care of in Pharaoh's house; and Genubath was living in Pharaoh's house among Pharaoh's sons.

11:20 다브네스의 아우가 그로 말미암아 아들 그누밧을 낳았더니 다브네스가 그 아이를 바로의 궁중에서 젖을 떼게 하매 그누밧이 바로의 궁에서 바로의 아들 가운데 있었더라

11:21 Now when Hadad had news in Egypt that David had been put to rest with his fathers, and that Joab, the captain of the army, was dead, he said to Pharaoh, Send me back to my country.

11:21 하닷이 애굽에 있어서 다윗이 그 열조와 함께 잔 것과 군대 장관 요압의 죽은 것을 듣고 바로에게 고하되 나를 보내어 내 고국으로 가게 하옵소서

11:22 But Pharaoh said to him, What have you been short of while you have been with me, that you are desiring to go back to your country? And he said, Nothing; but even so, send me back.

11:22 바로가 저에게 이르되 네가 나와 함께 있어 무슨 부족함이 있기에 네 고국으로 가기를 구하느뇨 대답하되 없나이다 그러나 아무쪼록 나를 보내옵소서 하였더라

11:23 And God sent another trouble-maker, Rezon, the son of Eliada, who had gone in flight from his lord, Hadadezer, king of Zobah:

11:23 ○ 하나님이 또 엘리아다의 아들 르손을 일으켜 솔로몬의 대적이 되게 하시니 저는 그 주인 소바 왕 하닷에셀에게서 도망한 자라

11:24 He got some men together and made himself captain of a band of outlaws; and went to Damascus and became king there.

11:24 다윗이 소바 사람을 죽일 때에 르손이 사람들을 모으고 그 떼의 괴수가 되며 다메섹으로 가서 웅거하고 거기서 왕이 되었더라

11:25 He was a trouble to Israel all through the days of Solomon. And this is the damage Hadad did: he was cruel to Israel while he was ruler over Edom.

11:25 솔로몬의 일평생에 하닷의 끼친 환난 외에 르손이 수리아 왕이 되어 이스라엘을 대적하고 미워하였더라

11:26 And there was Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, an Ephraimite from Zeredah, a servant of Solomon, whose mother was Zeruah, a widow; and his hand was lifted up against the king.

11:26 ○ 솔로몬의 신복 느밧의 아들 여로보암이 또한 손을 들어 왕을 대적하였으니 저는 에브라임 족속인 스레다 사람이요 그 어미의 이름은 스루아니 과부더라

11:27 The way in which his hand came to be lifted up against the king was this: Solomon was building the Millo and making good the damaged parts of the town of his father David;

11:27 저가 손을 들어 왕을 대적하는 까닭은 이러하니라 솔로몬이 밀로를 건축하고 그 부친 다윗의 성의 무너진 것을 수축하였는데

11:28 And Jeroboam was an able and responsible man; and Solomon saw that he was a good worker and made him overseer of all the work given to the sons of Joseph.

11:28 이 사람 여로보암은 큰 용사라 솔로몬이 이 소년의 부지런함을 보고 세워 요셉 족속의 역사를 감독하게 하였더니

11:29 Now at that time, when Jeroboam was going out of Jerusalem, the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite came across him on the road; now Ahijah had put on a new robe; and the two of them were by themselves in the open country.

11:29 그 즈음에 여로보암이 예루살렘에서 나갈 때에 실로 사람 선지자 아히야가 길에서 저를 만나니 아히야가 새 의복을 입었고 그 두 사람만 들에 있었더라

11:30 And Ahijah took his new robe in his hands, parting it violently into twelve.

11:30 아히야가 그 입은 새 옷을 잡아 열 두 조각에 찢고

11:31 And he said to Jeroboam, Take ten of the parts, for this is what the Lord has said: See, I will take the kingdom away from Solomon by force, and will give ten tribes to you;

11:31 여로보암에게 이르되 너는 열 조각을 취하라 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 말씀이 내가 이 나라를 솔로몬의 손에서 찢어 빼앗아 열 지파를 네게 주고

11:32 (But one tribe will be his, because of my servant David, and because of Jerusalem, the town which, out of all the tribes of Israel, I have made mine,)

11:32 오직 내 종 다윗을 위하고 이스라엘 모든 지파 중에서 뺀 성 예루살렘을 위하여 한 지파를 솔로몬에게 주리니

11:33 Because they are turned away from me to the worship of Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Zidonians, and Chemosh, the god of Moab, and Milcom, the god of the Ammonites; they have not been walking in my ways or doing what is right in my eyes or keeping my laws and my decisions as his father David did.

11:33 이는 저희가 나를 버리고 시돈 사람의 여신 아스다롯과 모압의 신 그모스와 암몬 자손의 신 밀곰을 숭배하며 그 아비 다윗의 행함 같지 아니하여 내 길로 행치 아니하며 나 보기에 정직한 일과 나의 법도와 나의 율례를 행치 아니함이니라

11:34 But I will not take the kingdom from him; I will let him be king all the days of his life, because of David my servant, in whom I took delight because he kept my orders and my laws.

11:34 그러나 내가 뺀 내 종 다윗이 내 명령과 내 법도를 지켰으므로 내가 저를 위하여 솔로몬의 생전에는 온 나라를 그 손에서 빼앗지 아니하고 주관하게 하려니와

11:35 But I will take the kingdom from his son, and give it to you.

11:35 내가 그 아들의 손에서 나라를 빼앗아 그 열 지파를 네게 줄 것이요

11:36 And one tribe I will give to his son, so that David my servant may have a light for ever burning before me in Jerusalem, the town which I have made mine to put my name there.

11:36 그 아들에게는 내가 한 지파를 주어서 내가 내 이름을 두고자 하여 택한 성 예루살렘에서 내 종 다윗에게 한 등불이 항상 내 앞에 있게 하리라

11:37 And you I will take, and you will be king over Israel, ruling over whatever is the desire of your soul.

11:37 내가 너를 취하리니 너는 무릇 네 마음에 원하는 대로 다스려 이스라엘 위에 왕이 되되

11:38 And if you give attention to the orders I give you, walking in my ways and doing what is right in my eyes and keeping my laws and my orders as David my servant did; then I will be with you, building up for you a safe house, as I did for David, and I will give Israel to you.

11:38 네가 만일 내가 명한 모든 일에 순종하고 내 길로 행하며 내 눈에 합당한 일을 하며 내 종 다윗의 행함 같이 내 율례와 명령을 지키면 내가 너와 함께 있어 내가 다윗을 위하여 세운 것 같이 너를 위하여 견고한 집을 세우고 이스라엘을 네게 주리라

11:39 (So that I may send trouble for this on the seed of David, but not for ever.)

11:39 내가 이로 인하여 다윗의 자손을 괴롭게 할 터이나 영원히 하지는 아니하리라 하셨느니라 한지라

11:40 And Solomon was looking for a chance to put Jeroboam to death; but he went in flight to Egypt, to Shishak, king of Egypt, and was in Egypt till the death of Solomon.

11:40 이러므로 솔로몬이 여로보암을 죽이려 하매 여로보암이 일어나 애굽으로 도망하여 애굽 왕 시삭에게 이르러 솔로몬의 죽기까지 애굽에 있으니라

11:41 Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all he did, and his wisdom, are they not recorded in the book of the acts of Solomon?

11:41 ○ 솔로몬의 남은 사적과 무릇 저의 행한 일과 그 지혜는 솔로몬의 행장에 기록되지 아니하였느냐

11:42 And the time Solomon was king in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.

11:42 솔로몬이 예루살렘에서 온 이스라엘을 다스린 날 수가 사십 년이라

11:43 And Solomon went to rest with his fathers, and was put into the earth in the town of David his father: and Solomon went to rest with his fathers and Rehoboam his son became king in his place.

11:43 솔로몬이 그 열조와 함께 자매 그 부친 다윗의 성에 장사되고 그 아들 르호보암이 대신하여 왕이 되니라
