Repentance

Jb1:1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

1:2 And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters.

1:3 His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.

1:4 And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.

1:5 And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

Jm1:12 Blessed is the man that endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love him.

1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempts he any man:

1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

1:15 Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death.

1:16 Do not go astray, my beloved brethren.

1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

1:18 Of his own will brings forth he us with the word (o. logos) of truth, that we should be a kind of first-fruits of his creatures.

1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

1:20 For the wrath of man works not the righteousness of God.

1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and abundance of evil, and receive with meekness the implanted word, (o. logos) which is able to save your souls.

1:22 But be all of you doers of the word, (o. logos) and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

1:23 For if any be a hearer of the word, (o. logos) and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

1:24 For he beholds himself, and goes his way, and immediately forgets what manner of man he was.

1:25 But whoso looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridles not his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Gl5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Mt5:21 All of you have heard that it was said of them of old time, You shall not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, You fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

5:23 Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has ought against you;

5:24 Leave there your gift before the altar, and go your way; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

5:25 Agree with yours adversary quickly, while you are in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be cast into prison.

5:26 Verily I say unto you, You shall by no means come out thence, till you have paid the uttermost farthing.

5:27 All of you have heard that it was said by them of old time, You shall not commit adultery:

5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.

5:29 And if your right eye offend you, pluck it out, and cast it from you: for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body should be cast into hell.

5:30 And if your right hand offend you, cut it off, and cast it from you: for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body should be cast into hell.

Mt5:43 All of you have heard that it has been said, You shall love your neighbour, and hate yours enemy.

5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Lk7:21 And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; (o. pneuma) and unto many that were blind he gave sight.

7:22 Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things all of you have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

7:23 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

7:24 And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went all of you out into the wilderness in order to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

7:25 But what went all of you out in order to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.

7:26 But what went all of you out in order to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.

7:27 This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before your face, which shall prepare your way before you.

Jm4:4 All of you adulterers and adulteresses, know all of you not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Jm4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, all of you sinners; and purify your hearts, all of you double minded.

4:9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.

4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Hb13:4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

Pr6:29 So he that goes in to his neighbour's wife; whosoever touches her shall not be innocent.

1Jh3:9 Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

1Pt2:9 But all of you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, an exclusive people; that all of you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

Gl5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, worldy jealousies, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Lv18:22 You shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Lv20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Rm1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Ex20:3 You shall have no other gods before me.

20:4 You shall not make unto you any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

20:5 You shall not bow down yourself to them, nor serve them: for I the Jehovah your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

20:6 And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

20:7 You shall not take the name of the Jehovah your God in vain; for the Jehovah will not hold him guiltless that takes his name in vain.

20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

20:9 Six days shall you labour, and do all your work:

20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Jehovah your God: in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates:

20:11 For in six days the Jehovah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Jehovah blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

20:12 Honour your father and your mother: that your days may be long upon the land which the Jehovah your God gives you.

20:13 You shall not kill.

20:14 You shall not commit adultery.

20:15 You shall not steal.

20:16 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour.

20:17 You shall not covet your neighbour's house, you shall not covet your neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is your neighbour's.

Dt5:7 You shall have no other gods before me.

5:8 You shall not make you any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:

5:9 You shall not bow down yourself unto them, nor serve them: for I the Jehovah your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,

5:10 And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.

5:11 You shall not take the name of the Jehovah your God in vain: for the Jehovah will not hold him guiltless that takes his name in vain.

5:12 Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Jehovah your God has commanded you.

5:13 Six days you shall labour, and do all your work:

5:14 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Jehovah your God: in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor yours ox, nor yours ass, nor any of your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates; that your manservant and your maidservant may rest as well as you.

5:15 And remember that you were a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the Jehovah your God brought you out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the Jehovah your God commanded you to keep the sabbath day.

5:16 Honour your father and your mother, as the Jehovah your God has commanded you; that your days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with you, in the land which the Jehovah your God gives you.

5:17 You shall not kill.

5:18 Neither shall you commit adultery.

5:19 Neither shall you steal.

5:20 Neither shall you bear false witness against your neighbour.

5:21 Neither shall you desire your neighbour's wife, neither shall you covet your neighbour's house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is your neighbour's.

Gn4:1 And Adam had sexual contact with Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have got a man from the Jehovah.

4:2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

4:3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Jehovah.

4:4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Jehovah had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

4:5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.

4:6 And the Jehovah said unto Cain, Why are you angry? and why is your countenance fallen?

4:7 If you do well, shall you not be accepted? and if you do not well, sin lies at the door. And unto you shall be his desire, and you shall rule over him.

Mt22:35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,

22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

22:37 Jesus said unto him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.

22:38 This is the first and great commandment.

22:39 And the second is like unto it, You shall love your neighbour as yourself.

22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Jh13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That all of you love one another; as I have loved you, that all of you also love one another.

2Tm3:1 This know also, that in the last days dangerous times shall come.

3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

3:4 Traitors, rebellious, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Jm5:13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that all of you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Ps62:1 Truly my soul waits upon God: from him comes my salvation.

62:2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

62:3 How long will all of you imagine mischief against a man? all of you shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall all of you be, and as a tottering fence.

62:4 They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

62:5 My soul, wait you only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

62:6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

62:7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

62:8 Trust in him at all times; all of you people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Ps139:1 O lord, you have searched me, and known me.

139:2 You know my sitting down and mine rising up, you understand my thought far off.

139:3 You compass my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.

139:4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Jehovah, you know it altogether.

Ez10:1 Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore.

Ez10:11 Now therefore make confession unto the Jehovah God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives.

Ps34:18 The Jehovah is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saves such as be of a contrite spirit.

Ps51:1 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to your loving kindness: according unto the multitude of your tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

51:2 Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

Ps51:16 For you desire not sacrifice; else would I give it: you delight not in burnt offering.

51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

Ps7:11 God judges the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

7:12 If he turn not, he will sharpen his sword; he has bent his bow, and made it ready.

Ps66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

66:19 But verily God has heard me; he has attended to the voice of my prayer.

66:20 Blessed be God, which has not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.

2ch7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

2Ch15:1 And the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded:

15:2 And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear all of you me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The Jehovah is with you, while all of you be with him; and if all of you seek him, he will be found of you; but if all of you forsake him, he will forsake you.

2Ch33:12 And when he was in affliction, he besought the Jehovah his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,

33:13 And prayed unto him: and he was implored of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Jehovah he was God.

Pr16:2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the Jehovah weights the spirits.

Pr28:13 He that covers his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy.

1Jh1:4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.

1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word (o. logos) is not in us.

Rm6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that all of you should obey it in the lusts thereof.

6:13 Neither yield all of you your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for all of you are not under the law, but under grace.

6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

6:16 Know all of you not, that to whom all of you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants all of you are to whom all of you obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

6:17 But God be thanked, that all of you were the servants of sin, but all of you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

6:18 Being then made free from sin, all of you became the servants of righteousness.

6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as all of you have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

Cl3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

Ps32:1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

32:2 Blessed is the man unto whom the Jehovah imputes not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

32:3 When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.

32:4 For day and night your hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.

32:5 I acknowledge my sin unto you, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Jehovah; and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

32:6 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto you in a time when you may be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.

32:7 You are my hiding place; you shall preserve me from trouble; you shall compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go: I will guide you with mine eye.

32:9 Be all of you not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto you.

32:10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusts in the Jehovah, mercy shall compass him about.

32:11 Be glad in the Jehovah, and rejoice, all of you righteous: and shout for joy, all you that are upright in heart.

Jl2:12 Therefore also now, says the Jehovah, turn all of you even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:

2:13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Jehovah your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repents him of the evil.

Jl2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Jehovah shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Jehovah has said, and in the remnant whom the Jehovah shall call.

Is55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Jehovah, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Is57:15 For thus says the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Is58:1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up your voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

Is66:2 For all those things has mine hand made, and all those things have been, says the Jehovah: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembles at my word.

Jr2:15 The young lions roared upon him, and yelled, and they made his land waste: his cities are burned without inhabitant.

2:16 Also the children of Noph and Tahapanes have broken the crown of your head.

2:17 Have you not procured this unto yourself, in that you have forsaken the Jehovah your God, when he led you by the way?

2:18 And now what have you to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what have you to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river?

2:19 Yours own wickedness shall correct you, and your backslidings shall reprove you: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that you have forsaken the Jehovah your God, and that my fear is not in you, says the Lord GOD of hosts.

2:20 For of old time I have broken your yoke, and burst your bands; and you said, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree you wander, playing the harlot.

2:21 Yet I had planted you a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then are you turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me?

2:22 For though you wash you with alkali, and take you much soap, yet yours iniquity is marked before me, says the Lord GOD.

2:23 How can you say, I am not polluted, I have not gone after Baalim? see your way in the valley, know what you have done: you are a swift dromedary traversing her ways;

2:24 A wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffs up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her.

2:25 Withhold your foot from being unshod, and your throat from thirst: but you said, There is no hope: no; for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go.

Jr3:1 They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but you have played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, says the Jehovah.

3:2 Lift up yours eyes unto the high places, and see where you have not been lien with. In the ways have you sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and you have polluted the land with your whoredoms and with your wickedness.

3:3 Therefore the showers have been withheld, and there has been no latter rain; and you had a whore's forehead, you refused to be ashamed.

3:4 Will you not from this time cry unto me, My father, you are the guide of my youth?

3:5 Will he reserve his anger for ever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, you have spoken and done evil things as you could.

3:6 The Jehovah said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Have you seen that which backsliding Israel has done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there has played the harlot.

3:7 And I said after she had done all these things, Turn you unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.

3:8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

3:9 And it came to pass through the levity of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.

3:10 And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah has not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, says the Jehovah.

3:11 And the Jehovah said unto me, The backsliding Israel has justified herself more than treacherous Judah.

3:12 Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, you backsliding Israel, says the Jehovah; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, says the Jehovah, and I will not keep anger for ever.

3:13 Only acknowledge yours iniquity, that you have transgressed against the Jehovah your God, and have scattered your ways to the strangers under every green tree, and all of you have not obeyed my voice, says the Jehovah.

3:14 Turn, O backsliding children, says the Jehovah; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:

3:15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

3:16 And it shall come to pass, when all of you be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, says the Jehovah, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the Jehovah: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.

3:17 At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the Jehovah; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the Jehovah, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.

3:18 In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.

3:19 But I said, How shall I put you among the children, and give you a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, You shall call me, My father; and shall not turn away from me.

3:20 Surely as a wife treacherously departs from her husband, so have all of you dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, says the Jehovah.

3:21 A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the Jehovah their God.

3:22 Return, all of you backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto you; for you are the Jehovah our God.

Jr4:4 Circumcise yourselves to the Jehovah, and take away the foreskins of your heart, all of you men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

Jr4:14 O Jerusalem, wash yours heart from wickedness, that you may be saved. How long shall your vain thoughts lodge within you?

Lm3:39 Wherefore does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?

3:40 Let us search and try our ways, and return to the Jehovah.

3:41 Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.

Lm4:1 How is the gold become dim! how is the most fine gold changed! the stones of the sanctuary are poured out in the top of every street.

4:2 The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter!

4:3 Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones: the daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.

4:4 The tongue of the nursing infant cleaves to the roof of his mouth for thirst: the young children ask bread, and no man breaks it unto them.

4:5 They that did feed delicately are desolate in the streets: they that were brought up in scarlet embrace dunghills.

4:6 For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands stayed on her.

4:7 Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk, they were more rosy in body than rubies, their polishing was of sapphire:

4:8 Their visage is blacker than a coal; they are not known in the streets: their skin cleaves to their bones; it is withered, it is become like a stick.

4:9 They that be slain with the sword are better than they that be slain with hunger: for these pine away, stricken through for lack of the fruits of the field.

4:10 The hands of the pitiful women have sodden their own children: they were their food in the destruction of the daughter of my people.

4:11 The Jehovah has accomplished his fury; he has poured out his fierce anger, and has kindled a fire in Zion, and it has devoured the foundations thereof.

4:12 The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem.

4:13 For the sins of her prophets, and the iniquities of her priests, that have shed the blood of the just in the midst of her,

4:14 They have wandered as blind men in the streets, they have polluted themselves with blood, so that men could not touch their garments.

4:15 They cried unto them, Depart all of you; it is unclean; depart, depart, touch not: when they fled away and wandered, they said among the heathen, They shall no more sojourn there.

4:16 The anger of the Jehovah has divided them; he will no more regard them: they respected not the persons of the priests, they favoured not the elders.

4:17 As for us, our eyes as yet failed for our vain help: in our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save us.

4:18 They hunt our steps, that we cannot go in our streets: our end is near, our days are fulfilled; for our end has come.

4:19 Our persecutors are swifter than the eagles of the heaven: they pursued us upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness.

4:20 The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of the Jehovah, was taken in their pits, of whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live among the heathen.

4:21 Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwell in the land of Uz; the cup also shall pass through unto you: you shall be drunken, and shall make yourself naked.

4:22 The punishment of yours iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Zion; he will no more carry you away into captivity: he will visit yours iniquity, O daughter of Edom; he will discover your sins.

Lm5:1 Remember, O Jehovah, what has come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.

5:2 Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.

5:3 We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows.

5:4 We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.

5:5 Our necks are under persecution: we labour, and have no rest.

5:6 We have given the hand to the Egyptians, and to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.

5:7 Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities.

5:8 Servants have ruled over us: there is none that does deliver us out of their hand.

5:9 We got our bread with the peril of our lives because of the sword of the wilderness.

Ek18:21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he has committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

18:22 All his transgressions that he has committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he has done he shall live.

18:23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? says the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

18:24 But when the righteous turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All his righteousness that he has done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he has trespassed, and in his sin that he has sinned, in them shall he die.

18:25 Yet all of you say, The way of the Jehovah is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?

18:26 When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and dies in them; for his iniquity that he has done shall he die.

18:27 Again, when the wicked man turns away from his wickedness that he has committed, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.

18:28 Because he considers, and turns away from all his transgressions that he has committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

18:29 Yet says the house of Israel, The way of the Jehovah is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?

18:30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, says the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.

18:31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby all of you have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will all of you die, O house of Israel?

18:32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dies, says the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live all of you.

Ek33:11 Say unto them, As I live, says the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn all of you, turn all of you from your evil ways; for why will all of you die, O house of Israel?

33:12 Therefore, you son of man, say unto the children of your people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turns from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sins.

33:13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he has committed, he shall die for it.

33:14 Again, when I say unto the wicked, You shall surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;

33:15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.

33:16 None of his sins that he has committed shall be mentioned unto him: he has done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

Ek 36:32 Not for your sakes do I this, says the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.

36:33 Thus says the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be built.

36:34 And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.

36:35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.

36:36 Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the Jehovah build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the Jehovah have spoken it, and I will do it.

36:37 Thus says the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.

Dn9:3 And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:

9:4 And I prayed unto the Jehovah my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;

9:5 We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from your precepts and from your judgments:

9:6 Neither have we hearkened unto your servants the prophets, which spoke in your name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.

9:7 O Jehovah, righteousness belongs unto you, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries where you have driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against you.

9:8 O Lord, to us belongs confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against you.

9:9 To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;

9:10 Neither have we obeyed the voice of the Jehovah our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.

9:11 Yea, all Israel have transgressed your law, even by departing, that they might not obey your voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him.

9:12 And he has confirmed his words, which he spoke against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven has not been done as has been done upon Jerusalem.

9:13 As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil has come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the Jehovah our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand your truth.

9:14 Therefore has the Jehovah watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the Jehovah our God is righteous in all his works which he does: for we obeyed not his voice.

9:15 And now, O Lord our God, that have brought your people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and have got you renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly.

9:16 O Jehovah, according to all your righteousness, I plead to you, let yours anger and your fury be turned away from your city Jerusalem, your holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and your people are become a reproach to all that are about us.

9:17 Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of your servant, and his supplications, and cause your face to shine upon your sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord's sake.

9:18 O my God, incline yours ear, and hear; open yours eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by your name: for we do not present our supplications before you for our righteousnesses, but for your great mercies.

9:19 O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for yours own sake, O my God: for your city and your people are called by your name.

Hs6:1 Come, and let us return unto the Jehovah: for he has torn, and he will heal us; he has smitten, and he will bind us up.

Hs10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Jehovah, till he comes and rain righteousness upon you.

Hs14:1 O israel, return unto the Jehovah your God; for you have fallen by yours iniquity.

Am5:4 For thus says the Jehovah unto the house of Israel, Seek all of you me, and all of you shall live:

5:5 But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beersheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nothing.

5:6 Seek the Jehovah, and all of you shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel.

5:7 All of you who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,

5:8 Seek him that makes the seven stars and Orion, and turns the shadow of death into the morning, and makes the day dark with night: that calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out upon the face of the earth: The Jehovah is his name:

Mc7:7 Therefore I will look unto the Jehovah; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.

1:3 Therefore say you unto them, Thus says the Jehovah of hosts; Turn all of you unto me, says the Jehovah of hosts, and I will turn unto you, says the Jehovah of hosts.

Hb6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit, (o. pneuma)

6:5 And have tasted the good word (o. rhema) of God, and the powers of the world to come,

6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

Lk3:3 And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;

Lk 5:27 And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said unto him, Follow me.

5:28 And he left all, rose up, and followed him.

5:29 And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them.

5:30 But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do all of you eat and drink with publicans and sinners?

5:31 And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.

5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Lk19:1 And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.

19:2 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.

19:3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.

19:4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.

19:5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; in order to day I must abide at your house.

19:6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.

19:7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.

19:8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

19:9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

19:10 For the Son of man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Mt3:1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,

3:2 And saying, Repent all of you: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

3:3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare all of you the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

3:4 And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his food was locusts and wild honey.

3:5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,

3:6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

3:9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

Ps130:7 Let Israel hope in the Jehovah: for with the Jehovah there is mercy, and with him is abundant redemption.

130:8 And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

Lk5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Lk13:2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose all of you that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?

13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except all of you repent, all of you shall all likewise perish.

13:4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think all of you that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

Lk15:4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, does not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

15:5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

15:6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repents, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

15:8 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, does not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?

15:9 And when she has found it, she calls her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.

15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repents.

Lk15:11 And he said, A certain man had two sons:

15:12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me. And he divided unto them his living.

15:13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.

15:14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in lack.

15:15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

15:16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.

15:17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

15:18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before you,

15:19 And am no more worthy to be called your son: make me as one of your hired servants.

15:20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

15:21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight, and am no more worthy to be called your son.

15:22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

15:23 And bring here the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

15:24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

Is58:2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.

58:3 Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and you see not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and you take no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast all of you find pleasure, and exact all your labours.

58:4 Behold, all of you fast for strife and debate, and to strike with the fist of wickedness: all of you shall not fast as all of you do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.

58:5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? will you call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the Jehovah?

58:6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that all of you break every yoke?

58:7 Is it not to deal your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor that are cast out to your house? when you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you hide not yourself from yours own flesh?

58:8 Then shall your light break forth as the morning, and yours health shall spring forth speedily: and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Jehovah shall be your rear guard.

58:9 Then shall you call, and the Jehovah shall answer; you shall cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If you take away from the midst of you the yoke, the putting out of the finger, and speaking vanity;

58:10 And if you draw out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall your light rise in obscurity, and your darkness be as the noon day:

58:11 And the Jehovah shall guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and make fat your bones: and you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

Ep5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

5:17 Wherefore be all of you not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; (o. pneuma)

5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

2Pt3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Rv2:1 Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things says he that holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;

2:2 I know your works, and your labour, and your patience, and how you can not bear them which are evil: and you have tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and have found them liars:

2:3 And have borne, and have patience, and for my name's sake have laboured, and have not fainted.

2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against you, because you have left your first love. (o. agape)

2:5 Remember therefore from whence you are fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto you quickly, and will remove your candlestick out of his place, except you repent.

Rv2:12 And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things says he which has the sharp sword with two edges;

2:13 I know your works, and where you dwell, even where Satan's seat is: and you hold fast my name, and have not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwells.

2:14 But I have a few things against you, because you have there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.

2:15 So have you also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate.

2:16 Repent; or else I will come unto you quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

2:17 He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit (o. pneuma) says unto the churches; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knows saving he that receives it.

Rv2:18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things says the Son of God, who has his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;

2:19 I know your works, and love, (o. agape) and service, and faith, and your patience, and your works; and the last to be more than the first.

2:20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against you, because you suffer that woman Jezebel, which calls herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.

2:21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.

2:22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searches the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

2:24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you no other burden.

2:25 But that which all of you have already hold fast till I come.

2:26 And he that overcomes, and keeps my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:

2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.

2:28 And I will give him the morning star.

2:29 He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit (o. pneuma) says unto the churches.

Rv3:2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found your works perfect before God.

3:3 Remember therefore how you have received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore you shall not watch, I will come on you as a thief, and you shall not know what hour I will come upon you.

Rv3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things says the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

3:15 I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot: I would you were cold or hot.

3:16 So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth.

3:17 Because you says, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and know not that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

3:18 I counsel you to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that you may be rich; and white raiment, that you may be clothed, and that the shame of your nakedness do not appear; and anoint yours eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

3:21 To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

3:22 He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit (o. pneuma) says unto the churches.

Rv7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
