13:1 ここにダビデは千人の長、百人の長などの諸将と相はかり、
13:1 And David consulted with the captains of thousands and hundreds, and with every leader.
13:2 そしてダビデはイスラエルの全会衆に言った、「もし、このことをあなたがたがよしとし、われわれの神、主がこれを許されるならば、われわれは、イスラエルの各地に残っているわれわれの兄弟ならびに、放牧地の付いている町々にいる祭司とレビびとに、使をつかわし、われわれの所に呼び集めましょう。
13:2 And David said unto all the congregation of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and that it be of the LORD our God, let us send abroad unto our brethren every where, that are left in all the land of Israel, and with them also to the priests and Levites which are in their cities and suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us:
13:3 また神の箱をわれわれの所に移しましょう。われわれはサウルの世にはこれをおろそかにしたからです」。
13:3 And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we enquired not at it in the days of Saul.
13:4 会衆は一同「そうしましょう」と言った。このことがすべての民の目に正しかったからである。
13:4 And all the congregation said that they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.
13:5 そこでダビデはキリアテ・ヤリムから神の箱を運んでくるため、エジプトのシホルからハマテの入口までのイスラエルをことごとく呼び集めた。
13:5 So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjathjearim.
13:6 そしてダビデとすべてのイスラエルはバアラすなわちユダのキリアテ・ヤリムに上り、ケルビムの上に座しておられる主の名をもって呼ばれている神の箱をそこからかき上ろうと、
13:6 And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kirjathjearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the LORD, that dwells between the cherubims, whose name is called on it.
13:7 神の箱を新しい車にのせて、アビナダブの家からひきだし、ウザとアヒヨがその車を御した。
13:7 And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drove the cart.
13:8 ダビデおよびすべてのイスラエルは歌と琴と立琴と、手鼓と、シンバルと、ラッパをもって、力をきわめて神の前に踊った。
13:8 And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.
13:9 彼らがキドンの打ち場に来た時、ウザは手を伸べて箱を押えた。牛がつまずいたからである。
13:9 And when they came unto the threshing floor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.
13:10 ウザが手を箱につけたことによって、主は彼に向かって怒りを発し、彼を撃たれたので、彼はその所で神の前に死んだ。
13:10 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he stroke him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.
13:11 主がウザを撃たれたので、ダビデは怒った。その所は今日までペレヅ・ウザと呼ばれている。
13:11 And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perezuzza to this day.
13:12 その日ダビデは神を恐れて言った、「どうして神の箱を、わたしの所へかいて行けようか」。
13:12 And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?
13:13 それでダビデはその箱を自分の所ダビデの町へは移さず、これを転じてガテびとオベデ・エドムの家に運ばせた。
13:13 So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.
13:14 神の箱は三か月の間、オベデ・エドムの家に、その家族とともにとどまった。主はオベデ・エドムの家族とそのすべての持ち物を祝福された。
13:14 And the ark of God remained with the family of Obededom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obededom, and all that he had.
14:1 ツロの王ヒラムはダビデに使者をつかわし、彼のために家を建てさせようと香柏および石工と木工を送った。
14:1 Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with stone workers and carpenters, to build him an house.
14:2 ダビデは主が自分を堅く立ててイスラエルの王とされたことと、その民イスラエルのために彼の国を大いに興されたことを悟った。
14:2 And David perceived that the LORD had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Israel.
14:3 ダビデはエルサレムでまた妻たちをめとった。そしてダビデにまたむすこ、娘が生れた。
14:3 And David took more wives at Jerusalem: and David brings forth more sons and daughters.
14:4 彼がエルサレムで得た子たちの名は次のとおりである。すなわちシャンマ、ショバブ、、ナタン、ソロモン、
14:4 Now these are the names of his children which he had in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,
14:5 イブハル、エリシュア、エルペレテ、
14:5 And Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,
14:6 ノガ、ネペグ、ヤピア、
14:6 And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
14:7 エリシャマ、ベエリアダ、エリペレテである。
14:7 And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.
14:8 さてペリシテびとはダビデが油を注がれて全イスラエルの王になったことを聞いたので、ペリシテびとはみな上ってきてダビデを捜した。ダビデはこれを聞いてこれに当ろうと出ていったが、
14:8 And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them.
14:9 ペリシテびとはすでに来て、レパイムの谷を侵した。
14:9 And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
14:10 ダビデは神に問うて言った、「ペリシテびとに向かって上るべきでしょうか。あなたは彼らをわたしの手にわたされるでしょうか」。主はダビデに言われた、「上りなさい。わたしは彼らをあなたの手にわたそう」。
14:10 And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? And will you deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into yours hand.
14:11 そこで彼はバアル・ペラジムへ上っていった。その所でダビデは彼らを打ち敗り、そして言った、「神は破り出る水のように、わたしの手で敵を破られた」。それゆえ、その所の名はバアル・ペラジムと呼ばれている。
14:11 So they came up to Baalperazim; and David stroke them there. Then David said, God has broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking out of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baalperazim.
14:12 彼らが自分たちの神をそこに残して退いたので、ダビデは命じてこれを火で焼かせた。
14:12 And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.
14:13 ペリシテびとは再び谷を侵した。
14:13 And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.
14:14 ダビデが再び神に問うたので神は言われた、「あなたは彼らを追って上ってはならない。遠回りしてバルサムの木の前から彼らを襲いなさい。
14:14 Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them opposite to the mulberry trees.
14:15 バルサムの木の上に行進の音が聞えたならば、あなたは行って戦いなさい。神があなたの前に出てペリシテびとの軍勢を撃たれるからです」。
14:15 And it shall be, when you shall hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then you shall go out to battle: for God is gone forth before you to strike the host of the Philistines.
14:16 ダビデは神が命じられたようにして、ペリシテびとの軍勢を撃ち破り、ギベオンからゲゼルに及んだ。
14:16 David therefore did as God commanded him: and they stroke the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.
14:17 そこでダビデの名はすべての国々に聞えわたり、主はすべての国びとに彼を恐れさせられた。
14:17 And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations.
15:1 ダビデはダビデの町のうちに自分のために家を建て、また神の箱のために所を備え、これがために幕屋を張った。
15:1 And David made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.
15:2 ダビデは言った、「神の箱をかくべき者はただレビびとのみである。主が主の箱をかかせ、また主に長く仕えさせるために彼らを選ばれたからである」。
15:2 Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them has the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.
15:3 ダビデは主の箱をこれがために備えた所にかき上るため、イスラエルをことごとくエルサレムに集めた。
15:3 And David gathered all Israel together to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD unto his place, which he had prepared for it.
15:4 ダビデはまたアロンの子孫とレビびとを集めた。
15:4 And David assembled the children of Aaron, and the Levites:
15:5 すなわち、コハテの子孫のうちからはウリエルを長としてその兄弟百二十人、
15:5 Of the sons of Kohath; Uriel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twenty:
15:6 メラリの子孫のうちからはアサヤを長としてその兄弟二百二十人、
15:6 Of the sons of Merari; Asaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty:
15:7 ゲルショムの子孫のうちからはヨエルを長としてその兄弟百三十人、
15:7 Of the sons of Gershom; Joel the chief and his brethren an hundred and thirty:
15:8 エリザパンの子孫のうちからはシマヤを長としてその兄弟二百人、
15:8 Of the sons of Elizaphan; Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred:
15:9 ヘブロンの子孫のうちからはエリエルを長としてその兄弟八十人、
15:9 Of the sons of Hebron; Eliel the chief, and his brethren fourscore:
15:10 ウジエルの子孫のうちからはアミナダブを長としてその兄弟百十二人である。
15:10 Of the sons of Uzziel; Amminadab the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twelve.
15:11 ダビデは祭司ザドクとアビヤタル、およびレビびとウリエル、アサヤ、ヨエル、シマヤ、エリエル、アミナダブを召し、
15:11 And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,
15:12 彼らに言った、「あなたがたはレビびとの氏族の長である。あなたがたとあなたがたの兄弟はともに身を清め、イスラエルの神、主の箱をわたしがそのために備えた所にかき上りなさい。
15:12 And said unto them, All of you are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both all of you and your brethren, that all of you may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it.
15:13 さきにこれをかいた者があなたがたでなかったので、われわれの神、主はわれわれを撃たれました。これはわれわれがその定めにしたがってそれを扱わなかったからです」。
15:13 For because all of you did it not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.
15:14 そこで祭司たちとレビびとたちはイスラエルの神、主の箱をかき上るために身を清め、
15:14 So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel.
15:15 レビびとたちはモーセが主の言葉にしたがって命じたように、神の箱をさおをもって肩にになった。
15:15 And the children of the Levites bare the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the LORD.
15:16 ダビデはまたレビびとの長たちに、その兄弟たちを選んで歌うたう者となし、立琴と琴とシンバルなどの楽器を打ちはやし、喜びの声をあげることを命じた。
15:16 And David spoke to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of music, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.
15:17 そこでレビびとはヨエルの子ヘマンと、その兄弟ベレキヤの子アサフおよびメラリの子孫である彼らの兄弟クシャヤの子エタンを選んだ。
15:17 So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;
15:18 またこれに次ぐその兄弟たちがこれと共にいた。すなわちゼカリヤ、ヤジエル、セミラモテ、エイエル、ウンニ、エリアブ、ベナヤ、マアセヤ、マッタテヤ、エリペレホ、ミクネヤおよび門を守る者オベデ・エドムとエイエル。
15:18 And with them their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obededom, and Jeiel, the porters.
15:19 歌うたう者ヘマン、アサフおよびエタンは青銅のシンバルを打ちはやす者であった。
15:19 So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were appointed to sound with cymbals of brass;
15:20 ゼカリヤ、アジエル、セミラモテ、エイエル、ウンニ、エリアブ、マアセヤ、ベナヤはアラモテにしたがって立琴を奏する者であった。
15:20 And Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries on Alamoth;
15:21 しかしマッタテヤ、エリペレホ、ミクネヤ、オベデ・エドム、エイエル、アザジヤはセミニテにしたがって琴をもって指揮する者であった。
15:21 And Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obededom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith to excel.
15:22 ケナニヤはレビびとの楽長で、音楽に通じていたので、これを指揮した。
15:22 And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was for song: he instructed about the song, because he was skilful.
15:23 ベレキヤとエルカナは箱のために門を守る者であった。
15:23 And Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.
15:24 祭司シバニヤ、ヨシャパテ、ネタネル、アマサイ、ゼカリヤ、ベナヤ、エリエゼルらは神の箱の前でラッパを吹き、オベデ・エドムとエヒアは箱のために門を守る者であった。
15:24 And Shebaniah, and Jehoshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obededom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.
15:25 ダビデとイスラエルの長老たちおよび千人の長たちは行って、オベデ・エドムの家から主の契約の箱を喜び勇んでかき上った。
15:25 So David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the house of Obededom with joy.
15:26 神が主の契約の箱をかくレビびとを助けられたので、彼らは雄牛七頭、雄羊七頭をささげた。
15:26 And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.
15:27 ダビデは亜麻布の衣服を着ていた。箱をかくすべてのレビびとは、歌うたう者、音楽をつかさどるケナニヤも同様である。ダビデはまた亜麻布のエポデを着ていた。
15:27 And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers: David also had upon him an ephod of linen.
15:28 こうしてイスラエルは皆、声をあげ、角笛を吹きならし、ラッパと、シンバルと、立琴と琴をもって打ちはやして主の契約の箱をかき上った。
15:28 Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps.
15:29 主の契約の箱がダビデの町にはいったとき、サウルの娘ミカルが窓からながめ、ダビデ王の舞い踊るのを見て、心のうちに彼をいやしめた。
15:29 And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the LORD came to the city of David, that Michal, the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.
16:1 人々は神の箱をかき入れて、ダビデがそのために張った幕屋のうちに置き、そして燔祭と酬恩祭を神の前にささげた。
16:1 So they brought the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it: and they offered burnt sacrifices and peace offerings before God.
16:2 ダビデは燔祭と酬恩祭をささげ終えたとき、主の名をもって民を祝福し、
16:2 And when David had made an end of offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD.
16:3 イスラエルの人々に男にも女にもおのおのパン一つ、肉一切れ、干ぶどう一かたまりを分け与えた。
16:3 And he dealt to every one of Israel, both man and woman, to every one a loaf of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine.
16:4 ダビデはまたレビびとのうちから主の箱の前に仕える者を立てて、イスラエルの神、主をあがめ、感謝し、ほめたたえさせた。
16:4 And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, and to record, and to thank and praise the LORD God of Israel:
16:5 楽長はアサフ、その次はゼカリヤ、エイエル、セミラモテ、エヒエル、マッタテヤ、エリアブ、ベナヤ、オベデ・エドム、エイエルで、彼らは立琴と琴を弾じ、アサフはシンバルを打ち鳴らし、
16:5 Asaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obededom: and Jeiel with psalteries and with harps; but Asaph made a sound with cymbals;
16:6 祭司ベナヤとヤハジエルは神の契約の箱の前でつねにラッパを吹いた。
16:6 Benaiah also and Jahaziel the priests with trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.
16:7 その日ダビデは初めてアサフと彼の兄弟たちを立てて、主に感謝をささげさせた。
16:7 Then on that day David delivered first this psalm to thank the LORD into the hand of Asaph and his brethren.
16:8 主に感謝し、そのみ名を呼び、／そのみわざをもろもろの民の中に知らせよ。
16:8 Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.
16:9 主にむかって歌え、主をほめ歌え。そのもろもろのくすしきみわざを語れ。
16:9 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk all of you of all his wondrous works.
16:10 その聖なるみ名を誇れ。どうか主を求める者の心が喜ぶように。
16:10 Glory all of you in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
16:11 主とそのみ力とを求めよ。つねにそのみ顔をたずねよ。
16:11 Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.
16:12 そのしもべアブラハムのすえよ、／その選ばれたヤコブの子らよ。主のなされたくすしきみわざと、その奇跡と、／そのみ口のさばきとを心にとめよ。
16:12 Remember his marvellous works that he has done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
16:13 （この後一節ずつ繰り上げ）
16:13 O all of you seed of Israel his servant, all of you children of Jacob, his chosen ones.
16:14 彼はわれわれの神、主にいます。そのさばきは全地にある。
16:14 He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
16:15 主はとこしえにその契約をみこころにとめられる。これはよろずよに命じられたみ言葉であって、
16:15 Be all of you mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations;
16:16 アブラハムと結ばれた契約、／イサクに誓われた約束である。
16:16 Even of the covenant which he made with Abraham, and of his oath unto Isaac;
16:17 主はこれを堅く立ててヤコブのために定めとし、／イスラエルのためにとこしえの契約として、
16:17 And has confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant,
16:18 言われた、「あなたにカナンの地を与えて、／あなたがたの受ける嗣業の分け前とする」と。
16:18 Saying, Unto you will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance;
16:19 その時、彼らの数は少なくて、／数えるに足らず、かの国で旅びととなり、
16:19 When all of you were but few, even a few, and strangers in it.
16:20 国から国へ行き、／この国からほかの民へ行った。
16:20 And when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people;
16:21 主は人の彼らをしえたげるのをゆるされず、／彼らのために王たちを懲らしめて、
16:21 He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes,
16:22 言われた、「わが油そそがれた者たちに／さわってはならない。わが預言者たちに害を加えてはならない」と。
16:22 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
16:23 全地よ、主に向かって歌え。日ごとにその救を宣べ伝えよ。
16:23 Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; show forth from day to day his salvation.
16:24 もろもろの国の中にその栄光をあらわし、／もろもろの民の中にくすしきみわざをあらわせ。
16:24 Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvellous works among all nations.
16:25 主は大いなるかたにいまして、／いとほめたたうべき者、／もろもろの神にまさって、恐るべき者だからである。
16:25 For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods.
16:26 もろもろの民のすべての神はむなしい。しかし主は天を造られた。
16:26 For all the gods of the people are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.
16:27 誉と威厳とはそのみ前にあり、／力と喜びとはその聖所にある。
16:27 Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place.
16:28 もろもろの民のやからよ、主に帰せよ、／栄光と力とを主に帰せよ。
16:28 Give unto the LORD, all of you families of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.
16:29 そのみ名にふさわしい栄光を主に帰せよ。供え物を携えて主のみ前にきたれ。聖なる装いをして主を拝め。
16:29 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
16:30 全地よ、そのみ前におののけ。世界は堅く立って、動かされることはない。
16:30 Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.
16:31 天は喜び、地はたのしみ、／もろもろの国民の中に言え、「主は王であられる」と。
16:31 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigns.
16:32 海とその中に満つるものとは鳴りどよめき、／田畑とその中のすべての物は喜べ。
16:32 Let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all that is therein.
16:33 そのとき林のもろもろの木も主のみ前に喜び歌う。主は地をさばくためにこられるからである。
16:33 Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because he comes to judge the earth.
16:34 主に感謝せよ、主は恵みふかく、／そのいつくしみはとこしえに絶えることがない。
16:34 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endures for ever.
16:35 また言え、「われわれの救の神よ、われわれを救い、／もろもろの国民の中から／われわれを集めてお救いください。そうすればあなたの聖なるみ名に感謝し、／あなたの誉を誇るでしょう。
16:35 And say all of you, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to your holy name, and glory in your praise.
16:36 イスラエルの神、主は、／とこしえからとこしえまでほむべきかな」と。その時すべての民は「アァメン」と言って主をほめたたえた。
16:36 Blessed be the LORD God of Israel for ever and ever. And all the people said, Amen, and praised the LORD.
16:37 ダビデはアサフとその兄弟たちを主の契約の箱の前にとめおいて、常に箱の前に仕え、日々のわざを行わせた。
16:37 So he left there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD Asaph and his brethren, to minister before the ark continually, as every day's work required:
16:38 オベデ・エドムとその兄弟たちは合わせて六十八人である。またエドトンの子オベデ・エドムおよびホサは門守であった。
16:38 And Obededom with their brethren, threescore and eight; Obededom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah to be porters:
16:39 祭司ザドクとその兄弟である祭司たちはギベオンにある高き所で主の幕屋の前に仕え、
16:39 And Zadok the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the LORD in the high place that was at Gibeon,
16:40 主がイスラエルに命じられた律法にしるされたすべてのことにしたがって燔祭の壇の上に朝夕たえず燔祭を主にささげた。
16:40 To offer burnt offerings unto the LORD upon the altar of the burnt offering continually morning and evening, and to do according to all that is written in the law of the LORD, which he commanded Israel;
16:41 また彼らとともにヘマン、エドトンおよびほかの選ばれて名をしるされた者どもがいて、主のいつくしみの世々限りなきことについて主に感謝した。
16:41 And with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest that were chosen, who were expressed by name, to give thanks to the LORD, because his mercy endures for ever;
16:42 すなわちヘマンおよびエドトンは彼らとともにいて、ラッパ、シンバルおよびその他の聖歌のための楽器をとって音楽を奏し、エドトンの子らは門を守った。
16:42 And with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those that should make a sound, and with musical instruments of God. And the sons of Jeduthun were porters.
16:43 こうして民は皆おのおの家に帰り、ダビデはその家族を祝福するために帰って行った。
16:43 And all the people departed every man to his house: and David returned to bless his house.
17:1 さてダビデは自分の家に住むようになったとき、預言者ナタンに言った、「見よ、わたしは香柏の家に住んでいるが、主の契約の箱は天幕のうちにある」。
17:1 Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD remains under curtains.
17:2 ナタンはダビデに言った、「神があなたとともにおられるから、すべてあなたの心にあるところを行いなさい」。
17:2 Then Nathan said unto David, Do all that is in yours heart; for God is with you.
17:3 その夜、神の言葉がナタンに臨んで言った、
17:3 And it came to pass the same night, that the word of God came to Nathan, saying,
17:4 「行ってわたしのしもべダビデに告げよ、『主はこう言われる、わたしの住む家を建ててはならない。
17:4 Go and tell David my servant, Thus says the LORD, You shall not build me an house to dwell in:
17:5 わたしはイスラエルを導き上った日から今日まで、家に住まわず、天幕から天幕に、幕屋から幕屋に移ったのである。
17:5 For I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel unto this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another.
17:6 わたしがすべてのイスラエルと共に歩んだすべての所で、わたしの民を牧することを命じたイスラエルのさばきづかさのひとりに、ひと言でも、「どうしてあなたがたは、わたしのために香柏の家を建てないのか」と言ったことがあるだろうか』と。
17:6 Where ever I have walked with all Israel, spoke I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why have all of you not built me an house of cedars?
17:7 それゆえ今あなたは、わたしのしもべダビデにこう言いなさい、『万軍の主はこう仰せられる、「わたしはあなたを牧場から、羊に従っている所から取って、わたしの民イスラエルの君とし、
17:7 Now therefore thus shall you say unto my servant David, Thus says the LORD of hosts, I took you from the sheepcote, even from following the sheep, that you should be ruler over my people Israel:
17:8 あなたがどこへ行くにもあなたと共におり、あなたのすべての敵をあなたの前から断ち去った。わたしはまた地の上の大いなる者の名のような名をあなたに得させよう。
17:8 And I have been with you anywhere you have walked, and have cut off all yours enemies from before you, and have made you a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth.
17:9 そしてわたしはわが民イスラエルのために一つの所を定めて、彼らを植えつけ、彼らを自分の所に住ませ、重ねて動くことのないようにしよう。
17:9 Also I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning,
17:10 また前のように、すなわちわたしがわが民イスラエルの上にさばきづかさを立てた時からこのかたのように、悪い人が重ねてこれを荒すことはないであろう。わたしはまたあなたのもろもろの敵を征服する。かつわたしは主があなたのために家を建てられることを告げる。
17:10 And since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. Moreover I will subdue all yours enemies. Furthermore I tell you that the LORD will build you an house.
17:11 あなたの日が満ち、あなたの先祖たちの所へ行かねばならぬとき、わたしはあなたの子、すなわちあなたの子らのひとりを、あなたのあとに立てて、その王国を堅くする。
17:11 And it shall come to pass, when your days be expired that you must go to be with your fathers, that I will raise up your seed after you, which shall be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom.
17:12 彼はわたしのために家を建てるであろう。わたしは長く彼の位を堅くする。
17:12 He shall build me an house, and I will establish his throne for ever.
17:13 わたしは彼の父となり、彼はわたしの子となる。わたしは、わたしのいつくしみを、あなたのさきにあった者から取り去ったように、彼からは取り去らない。
17:13 I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before you:
17:14 かえって、わたしは彼を長くわたしの家に、わたしの王国にすえおく。彼の位はとこしえに堅く立つであろう』」。
17:14 But I will settle him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for evermore.
17:15 ナタンはすべてこれらの言葉のように、またすべてこの幻のようにダビデに語った。
17:15 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.
17:16 そこで、ダビデ王は、はいって主の前に座して言った、「主なる神よ、わたしがだれ、わたしの家がなんであるので、あなたはこれまでわたしを導かれたのですか。
17:16 And David the king came and sat before the LORD, and said, Who am I, O LORD God, and what is mine house, that you have brought me until now?
17:17 神よ、これはあなたの目には小さな事です。主なる神よ、あなたはしもべの家について、はるか後の事を語って、きたるべき代々のことを示されました。
17:17 And yet this was a small thing in yours eyes, O God; for you have also spoken of your servant's house for a great while to come, and have regarded me according to the estate of a man of high degree, O LORD God.
17:18 しもべの名誉については、ダビデはこの上あなたに何を申しあげることができましょう。あなたはしもべを知っておられるからです。
17:18 What can David speak more to you for the honour of your servant? for you know your servant.
17:19 主よ、あなたはしもべのために、またあなたの心にしたがって、このもろもろの大いなる事をなし、すべての大いなる事を知らされました。
17:19 O LORD, for your servant's sake, and according to yours own heart, have you done all this greatness, in making known all these great things.
17:20 主よ、われわれがすべて耳に聞いた所によれば、あなたのようなものはなく、またあなたのほかに神はありません。
17:20 O LORD, there is none like you, neither is there any God beside you, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
17:21 また地上のどの国民が、あなたの民イスラエルのようでありましょうか。これは神が行って、自分のためにあがなって民とし、エジプトからあなたがあがない出されたあなたの民の前から国々の民を追い払い、大いなる恐るべき事を行って、名を得られたものではありませんか。
17:21 And what one nation in the earth is like your people Israel, whom God went to redeem to be his own people, to make you a name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out nations from before your people whom you have redeemed out of Egypt?
17:22 あなたはあなたの民イスラエルを長くあなたの民とされました。主よ、あなたは彼らの神となられたのです。
17:22 For your people Israel did you make yours own people for ever; and you, LORD, became their God.
17:23 それゆえ主よ、あなたがしもべと、しもべの家について語られた言葉を長く堅くして、あなたの言われたとおりにしてください。
17:23 Therefore now, LORD, let the thing that you have spoken concerning your servant and concerning his house be established for ever, and do as you have said.
17:24 そうすればあなたの名はとこしえに堅くされ、あがめられて、『イスラエルの神、万軍の主はイスラエルの神である』と言われ、またあなたのしもべダビデの家はあなたの前に堅く立つことができるでしょう。
17:24 Let it even be established, that your name may be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel: and let the house of David your servant be established before you.
17:25 わが神よ、あなたは彼のために家を建てると、しもべに示されました。それゆえ、しもべはあなたの前に祈る勇気を得ました。
17:25 For you, O my God, have told your servant that you will build him an house: therefore your servant has found in his heart to pray before you.
17:26 主よ、あなたは神にいまし、この良き事をしもべに約束されました。
17:26 And now, LORD, you are God, and have promised this goodness unto your servant:
17:27 それゆえどうぞいま、しもべの家を祝福し、あなたの前に長く続かせてくださるように。主よ、あなたの祝福されるものは長く祝福を受けるからです」。
17:27 Now therefore let it please you to bless the house of your servant, that it may be before you for ever: for you bless, O LORD, and it shall be blessed for ever.
18:1 この後ダビデはペリシテびとを撃ってこれを征服し、ペリシテびとの手からガテとその村々を取った。
18:1 Now after this it came to pass, that David stroke the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and her towns out of the hand of the Philistines.
18:2 彼はまたモアブを撃った。モアブびとはダビデのしもべとなって、みつぎを納めた。
18:2 And he stroke Moab; and the Moabites became David's servants, and brought gifts.
18:3 ダビデはまた、ハマテのゾバの王ハダデゼルがユフラテ川のほとりに、その記念碑を建てようとして行ったとき彼を撃った。
18:3 And David stroke Hadarezer king of Zobah unto Hamath, as he went to establish his dominion by the river Euphrates.
18:4 そしてダビデは彼から戦車一千、騎兵七千人、歩兵二万人を取った。ダビデは一百の戦車の馬を残して、そのほかの戦車の馬はみなその足の筋を切った。
18:4 And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: David also cut the hamstrings of all the chariot horses, but reserved of them an hundred chariots.
18:5 その時ダマスコのスリヤびとがゾバの王ハダデゼルを助けるために来たので、ダビデはそのスリヤびと二万二千人を殺した。
18:5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadarezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.
18:6 そしてダビデはダマスコのスリヤに守備隊を置いた。スリヤびとはみつぎを納めてダビデのしもべとなった。主はダビデにすべてその行く所で勝利を与えられた。
18:6 Then David put garrisons in Syriadamascus; and the Syrians became David's servants, and brought gifts. Thus the LORD preserved David anywhere he went.
18:7 ダビデはハダデゼルのしもべらが持っていた金の盾を奪って、エルサレムに持ってきた。
18:7 And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
18:8 またハダデゼルの町テブハテとクンからダビデは非常に多くの青銅を取った。ソロモンはそれを用いて青銅の海、柱および青銅の器を造った。
18:8 Likewise from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, brought David very much brass, wherewith Solomon made the brazen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.
18:9 時にハマテの王トイはダビデがゾバの王ハダデゼルのすべての軍勢を撃ち破ったことを聞き、
18:9 Now when Tou king of Hamath heard how David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer king of Zobah;
18:10 その子ハドラムをダビデ王につかわして、彼にあいさつさせ、かつ祝を述べさせた。ハダデゼルはかつてしばしばトイと戦いを交えたが、ダビデはハダデゼルと戦って、これを撃ち破ったからである。ハドラムは金、銀および青銅のさまざまの器を贈ったので、
18:10 He sent Hadoram his son to king David, to enquire of his welfare, and to congratulate him, because he had fought against Hadarezer, and smitten him; (for Hadarezer had war with Tou;) and with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass.
18:11 ダビデ王はこれをエドム、モアブ、アンモンの人々、ペリシテびと、アマクレなどの諸国民のうちから取ってきた金銀とともに、主にささげた。
18:11 Them also king David dedicated unto the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.
18:12 ゼルヤの子アビシャイは塩の谷で、エドムびと一万八千を撃ち殺した。
18:12 Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah slew of the Edomites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand.
18:13 ダビデはエドムに守備隊を置き、エドムびとは皆ダビデのしもべとなった。主はダビデにすべてその行く所で勝利を与えられた。
18:13 And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became David's servants. Thus the LORD preserved David anywhere he went.
18:14 こうしてダビデはイスラエルの全地を治め、そのすべての民に公道と正義を行った。
18:14 So David reigned over all Israel, and executed judgment and justice among all his people.
18:15 ゼルヤの子ヨアブは軍の長、アヒルデの子ヨシャパテは史官、
18:15 And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, recorder.
18:16 アヒトブの子ザドクとアビヤタルの子アビメレクは祭司、シャウシャは書記官、
18:16 And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Shavsha was scribe;
18:17 エホヤダの子ベナヤはケレテびととペレテびとの長、ダビデの子たちは王のかたわらにはべる大臣であった。
18:17 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king.
19:1 この後アンモンの人々の王ナハシが死んで、その子がこれに代って王となった。
19:1 Now it came to pass after this, that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon died, and his son reigned in his position.
19:2 そのときダビデは言った、「わたしはナハシの子ハヌンに、彼の父がわたしに恵みを施したように、恵みを施そう」。そしてダビデは彼をその父のゆえに慰めようとして使者をつかわした。ダビデのしもべたちはハヌンを慰めるためアンモンの人々の地に来たが、
19:2 And David said, I will show kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me. And David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. So the servants of David came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun, to comfort him.
19:3 アンモンの人々のつかさたちはハヌンに言った、「ダビデが慰める者をあなたのもとにつかわしたことによって、あなたは彼があなたの父を尊ぶのだと思われますか。彼のしもべたちが来たのは、この国をうかがい、探って滅ぼすためではありませんか」。
19:3 But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun, Think you that David does honour your father, that he has sent comforters unto you? are not his servants come unto you in order to search, and to overthrow, and to spy out the land?
19:4 そこでハヌンはダビデのしもべたちを捕えて、そのひげをそり落し、その着物を中ほどから断ち切って腰の所までにして彼らを帰してやった。
19:4 Wherefore Hanun took David's servants, and shaved them, and cut off their garments in the midst hard by their buttocks, and sent them away.
19:5 ある人々が来て、この人たちのされたことをダビデに告げたので、彼は人をつかわして、彼らを迎えさせた。その人々が非常に恥じたからである。そこで王は言った、「ひげがのびるまでエリコにとどまって、その後帰りなさい」。
19:5 Then there went certain, and told David how the men were served. And he sent to meet them: for the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.
19:6 アンモンの人々は自分たちがダビデに憎まれることをしたとわかったので、ハヌンおよびアンモンの人々は銀千タラントを送ってメソポタミヤとアラム・マアカ、およびゾバから戦車と騎兵を雇い入れた。
19:6 And when the children of Ammon saw that they had made themselves abhorrent to David, Hanun and the children of Ammon sent a thousand talents of silver to hire them chariots and horsemen out of Mesopotamia, and out of Syriamaachah, and out of Zobah.
19:7 すなわち戦車三万二千およびマアカの王とその軍隊を雇い入れたので、彼らは来てメデバの前に陣を張った。そこでアンモンの人々は町々から寄り集まって、戦いに出動した。
19:7 So they hired thirty and two thousand chariots, and the king of Maachah and his people; who came and pitched before Medeba. And the children of Ammon gathered themselves together from their cities, and came to battle.
19:8 ダビデはこれを聞いてヨアブと勇士の全軍をつかわしたので、
19:8 And when David heard of it, he sent Joab, and all the host of the mighty men.
19:9 アンモンの人々は出て来て町の入口に戦いの備えをした。また助けに来た王たちは別に野にいた。
19:9 And the children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array before the gate of the city: and the kings that were come were by themselves in the field.
19:10 時にヨアブは戦いが前後から自分に向かっているのを見て、イスラエルのえり抜きの兵士のうちから選んで、これをスリヤびとに対して備え、
19:10 Now when Joab saw that the battle was set against him before and behind, he chose out of all the choice of Israel, and put them in array against the Syrians.
19:11 そのほかの民を自分の兄弟アビシャイの手にわたして、アンモンの人々に対して備えさせ、
19:11 And the rest of the people he delivered unto the hand of Abishai his brother, and they set themselves in array against the children of Ammon.
19:12 そして言った、「もしスリヤびとがわたしに手ごわいときは、わたしを助けてください。もしアンモンの人々があなたに手ごわいときは、あなたを助けましょう。
19:12 And he said, If the Syrians be too strong for me, then you shall help me: but if the children of Ammon be too strong for you, then I will help you.
19:13 勇ましくしてください。われわれの民のためと、われわれの神の町々のために、勇ましくしましょう。どうか、主が良いと思われることをされるように」。
19:13 Be of good courage, and let us behave ourselves valiantly for our people, and for the cities of our God: and let the LORD do that which is good in his sight.
19:14 こうしてヨアブが自分と一緒にいる民と共にスリヤびとに向かって戦おうとして近づいたとき、スリヤびとは彼の前から逃げた。
19:14 So Joab and the people that were with him drew nigh before the Syrians unto the battle; and they fled before him.
19:15 アンモンの人々はスリヤびとの逃げるのを見て、彼らもまたヨアブの兄弟アビシャイの前から逃げて町にはいった。そこでヨアブはエルサレムに帰った。
19:15 And when the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians were fled, they likewise fled before Abishai his brother, and entered into the city. Then Joab came to Jerusalem.
19:16 しかしスリヤびとは自分たちがイスラエルの前に打ち敗られたのを見て、使者をつかわし、ハダデゼルの軍の長ショパクの率いるユフラテ川の向こう側にいるスリヤびとを引き出した。
19:16 And when the Syrians saw that they were put to the worse before Israel, they sent messengers, and drew forth the Syrians that were beyond the river: and Shophach the captain of the host of Hadarezer went before them.
19:17 この事がダビデに聞えたので、彼はイスラエルをことごとく集め、ヨルダンを渡り、彼らの所に来て、これに向かって戦いの備えをした。ダビデがこのようにスリヤびとに対して戦いの備えをしたとき、彼はダビデと戦った。
19:17 And it was told David; and he gathered all Israel, and passed over Jordan, and came upon them, and set the battle in array against them. So when David had put the battle in array against the Syrians, they fought with him.
19:18 しかしスリヤびとがイスラエルの前から逃げたので、ダビデはスリヤびとの戦車の兵七千、歩兵四万を殺し、また軍の長ショパクをも殺した。
19:18 But the Syrians fled before Israel; and David slew of the Syrians seven thousand men which fought in chariots, and forty thousand footmen, and killed Shophach the captain of the host.
19:19 ハダデゼルのしもべたちは味方の者がイスラエルに打ち敗られたのを見て、ダビデと和を講じ、彼に仕えた。スリヤびとは再びアンモンびとを助けることをしなかった。
19:19 And when the servants of Hadarezer saw that they were put to the worse before Israel, they made peace with David, and became his servants: neither would the Syrians help the children of Ammon any more.
20:1 春になって、王たちが戦いに出るに及んで、ヨアブは軍勢を率いてアンモンびとの地を荒し、行ってラバを包囲した。しかしダビデはエルサレムにとどまった。ヨアブはラバを撃って、これを滅ぼした。
20:1 And it came to pass, that after the year was expired, at the time that kings go out to battle, Joab led forth the power of the army, and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried at Jerusalem. And Joab stroke Rabbah, and destroyed it.
20:2 そしてダビデは彼らの王の冠をその頭から取りはなした。その金の重さを量ってみると一タラント、またその中に宝石があった。これをダビデの頭に置いた。ダビデはまたその町のぶんどり物を非常に多く持ち出した。
20:2 And David took the crown of their king from off his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and there were precious stones in it; and it was set upon David's head: and he brought also exceeding much spoil out of the city.
20:3 また彼はそのうちの民を引き出して、これをのこぎりと、鉄のつるはしと、おのを使う仕事につかせた。ダビデはアンモンびとのすべての町々にこのように行った。そしてダビデと民とは皆エルサレムに帰った。
20:3 And he brought out the people that were in it, and cut them with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes. Even so dealt David with all the cities of the children of Ammon. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.
20:4 この後ゲゼルでペリシテびとと戦いが起った。その時ホシャびとシベカイが巨人の子孫のひとりシパイを殺した。かれらはついに征服された。
20:4 And it came to pass after this, that there arose war at Gezer with the Philistines; at which time Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Sippai, that was of the children of the giant: and they were subdued.
20:5 ここにまたペリシテびとと戦いがあったが、ヤイルの子エルハナンはガテびとゴリアテの兄弟ラミを殺した。そのやりの柄は機の巻棒のようであった。
20:5 And there was war again with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, whose spear staff was like a weaver's beam.
20:6 またガテに戦いがあったが、そこにひとりの背の高い人がいた。その手の指と足の指は六本ずつで、合わせて二十四本あった。彼もまた巨人から生れた者であった。
20:6 And yet again there was war at Gath, where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four and twenty, six on each hand, and six on each foot and he also was the son of the giant.
20:7 彼はイスラエルをののしったので、ダビデの兄弟シメアの子ヨナタンがこれを殺した。
20:7 But when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea David's brother slew him.
20:8 これらはガテで巨人から生れた者であったが、ダビデの手とその家来たちの手に倒れた。
20:8 These were born unto the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
21:1 時にサタンが起ってイスラエルに敵し、ダビデを動かしてイスラエルを数えさせようとした。
21:1 And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.
21:2 ダビデはヨアブと軍の将校たちに言った、「あなたがたは行って、ベエルシバからダンまでのイスラエルを数え、その数を調べてわたしに知らせなさい」。
21:2 And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people, Go, number Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring the number of them to me, that I may know it.
21:3 ヨアブは言った、「それがどのくらいあっても、どうか主がその民を百倍に増されるように。しかし王わが主よ、彼らは皆あなたのしもべではありませんか。どうしてわが主はこの事を求められるのですか。どうしてイスラエルに罪を得させられるのですか」。
21:3 And Joab answered, The LORD make his people an hundred times so many more as they be: but, my lord the king, are they not all my lord's servants? why then does my lord require this thing? why will he be a cause of trespass to Israel?
21:4 しかし王の言葉がヨアブに勝ったので、ヨアブは出て行って、イスラエルをあまねく行き巡り、エルサレムに帰って来た。
21:4 Nevertheless the king's word prevailed against Joab. Wherefore Joab departed, and went throughout all Israel, and came to Jerusalem.
21:5 そしてヨアブは民の総数をダビデに告げた。すなわちイスラエルにはつるぎを抜く者が百十万人、ユダにはつるぎを抜く者が四十七万人あった。
21:5 And Joab gave the sum of the number of the people unto David. And all they of Israel were a thousand thousand and an hundred thousand men that drew sword: and Judah was four hundred threescore and ten thousand men that drew sword.
21:6 しかしヨアブは王の命令を快しとしなかったので、レビとベニヤミンとはその中に数えなかった。
21:6 But Levi and Benjamin counted he not among them: for the king's word was abominable to Joab.
21:7 この事が神の目に悪かったので、神はイスラエルを撃たれた。
21:7 And God was displeased with this thing; therefore he stroke Israel.
21:8 そこでダビデは神に言った、「わたしはこの事を行って大いに罪を犯しました。しかし今どうか、しもべの罪を除いてください。わたしは非常に愚かなことをいたしました」。
21:8 And David said unto God, I have sinned greatly, because I have done this thing: but now, I plead to you, do away the iniquity of your servant; for I have done very foolishly.
21:9 主はダビデの先見者ガデに告げて言われた、
21:9 And the LORD spoke unto Gad, David's seer, saying,
21:10 「行ってダビデに言いなさい、『主はこう仰せられる、わたしは三つの事を示す。あなたはその一つを選びなさい。わたしはそれをあなたに行おう』と」。
21:10 Go and tell David, saying, Thus says the LORD, I offer you three things: choose you one of them, that I may do it unto you.
21:11 ガデはダビデのもとに来て言った、「主はこう仰せられます、『あなたは選びなさい。
21:11 So Gad came to David, and said unto him, Thus says the LORD, Choose you
21:12 すなわち三年のききんか、あるいは三月の間、あなたのあだの前に敗れて、敵のつるぎに追いつかれるか、あるいは三日の間、主のつるぎすなわち疫病がこの国にあって、主の使がイスラエルの全領域にわたって滅ぼすことをするか』。いま、わたしがどういう答をわたしをつかわしたものになすべきか決めなさい」。
21:12 Either three years' famine; or three months to be destroyed before your foes, while that the sword of yours enemies overtakes you; or else three days the sword of the LORD, even the pestilence, in the land, and the angel of the LORD destroying throughout all the coasts of Israel. Now therefore advise yourself what word I shall bring again to him that sent me.
21:13 ダビデはガデに言った、「わたしは非常に悩んでいるが、主のあわれみは大きいゆえ、わたしを主の手に陥らせてください。しかしわたしを人の手に陥らせないでください」。
21:13 And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let me fall now into the hand of the LORD; for very great are his mercies: but let me not fall into the hand of man.
21:14 そこで主はイスラエルに疫病を下されたので、イスラエルびとのうち七万人が倒れた。
21:14 So the LORD sent pestilence upon Israel: and there fell of Israel seventy thousand men.
21:15 神はまたみ使をエルサレムにつかわして、これを滅ぼそうとされたが、み使がまさに滅ぼそうとしたとき、主は見られて、この災を悔い、その滅ぼすみ使に言われた、「もうじゅうぶんだ。今あなたの手をとどめよ」。そのとき主の使はエブスびとオルナンの打ち場のかたわらに立っていた。
21:15 And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it: and as he was destroying, the LORD beheld, and he repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed, It is enough, stay now yours hand. And the angel of the LORD stood by the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
21:16 ダビデが目をあげて見ると、主の使が地と天の間に立って、手に抜いたつるぎをもち、エルサレムの上にさし伸べていたので、ダビデと長老たちは荒布を着て、ひれ伏した。
21:16 And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the LORD stand between the earth and the heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders of Israel, who were clothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces.
21:17 そしてダビデは神に言った、「民を数えよと命じたのはわたしではありませんか。罪を犯し、悪い事をしたのはわたしです。しかしこれらの羊は何をしましたか。わが神、主よ、どうぞあなたの手をわたしと、わたしの父の家にむけてください。しかし災をあなたの民に下さないでください」。
21:17 And David said unto God, Is it not I that commanded the people to be numbered? even I it is that have sinned and done evil indeed; but as for these sheep, what have they done? let yours hand, I pray you, O LORD my God, be on me, and on my father's house; but not on your people, that they should be plagued.
21:18 時に主の使はガデに命じ、ダビデが上って行って、エブスびとオルナンの打ち場で主のために一つの祭壇を築くように告げさせた。
21:18 Then the angel of the LORD commanded Gad to say to David, that David should go up, and set up an altar unto the LORD in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
21:19 そこでダビデはガデが主の名をもって告げた言葉に従って上って行った。
21:19 And David went up at the saying of Gad, which he spoke in the name of the LORD.
21:20 そのときオルナンは麦を打っていたが、ふりかえってみ使を見たので、ともにいた彼の四人の子は身をかくした。
21:20 And Ornan turned back, and saw the angel; and his four sons with him hid themselves. Now Ornan was threshing wheat.
21:21 ダビデがオルナンに近づくと、オルナンは目を上げてダビデを見、打ち場から出て来て地にひれ伏してダビデを拝した。
21:21 And as David came to Ornan, Ornan looked and saw David, and went out of the threshing floor, and bowed himself to David with his face to the ground.
21:22 ダビデはオルナンに言った、「この打ち場の所をわたしに与えなさい。わたしは災が民に下るのをとどめるため、そこに主のために一つの祭壇を築きます。あなたは、そのじゅうぶんな価をとってこれをわたしに与えなさい」。
21:22 Then David said to Ornan, Grant me the place of this threshing floor, that I may build an altar therein unto the LORD: you shall grant it me for the full price: that the plague may be stayed from the people.
21:23 オルナンはダビデに言った、「どうぞこれをお取りなさい。そして王わが主の良しと見られるところを行いなさい。わたしは牛を燔祭のために、打穀機をたきぎのために、麦を素祭のためにささげます。わたしは皆これをささげます」。
21:23 And Ornan said unto David, Take it to you, and let my lord the king do that which is good in his eyes: lo, I give you the oxen also for burnt offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the food offering; I give it all.
21:24 ダビデ王はオルナンに言った、「いいえ、わたしはじゅうぶんな代価を払ってこれを買います。わたしは主のためにあなたのものを取ることをしません。また、費えなしに燔祭をささげることをいたしません」。
21:24 And king David said to Ornan, Nay; but I will verily buy it for the full price: for I will not take that which is yours for the LORD, nor offer burnt offerings without cost.
21:25 それでダビデはその所のために金六百シケルをはかって、オルナンに払った。
21:25 So David gave to Ornan for the place six hundred shekels of gold by weight.
21:26 こうしてダビデは主のために、その所に一つの祭壇を築き、燔祭と酬恩祭をささげて、主を呼んだ。主は燔祭の祭壇の上に天から火を下して答えられた。
21:26 And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called upon the LORD; and he answered him from heaven by fire upon the altar of burnt offering.
21:27 また主がみ使に命じられたので、彼はつるぎをさやにおさめた。
21:27 And the LORD commanded the angel; and he put up his sword again into the sheath thereof.
21:28 その時ダビデは主がエブスびとオルナンの打ち場で自分に答えられたのを見たので、その所で犠牲をささげた。
21:28 At that time when David saw that the LORD had answered him in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite, then he sacrificed there.
21:29 モーセが荒野で造った主の幕屋と燔祭の祭壇とは、その時ギベオンの高き所にあったからである。
21:29 For the tabernacle of the LORD, which Moses made in the wilderness, and the altar of the burnt offering, were at that season in the high place at Gibeon.
21:30 しかしダビデはその前へ行って神に求めることができなかった。彼が主の使のつるぎを恐れたからである。
21:30 But David could not go before it to enquire of God: for he was afraid because of the sword of the angel of the LORD.
22:1 それでダビデは言った、「主なる神の家はこれである、イスラエルのための燔祭の祭壇はこれである」と。
22:1 Then David said, This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.
22:2 ダビデは命じてイスラエルの地にいる他国人を集めさせ、また神の家を建てるのに用いる石を切るために石工を定めた。
22:2 And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set stone workers to hew wrought stones to build the house of God.
22:3 ダビデはまた門のとびらのくぎ、およびかすがいに用いる鉄をおびただしく備えた。また青銅を量ることもできないほどおびただしく備えた。
22:3 And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight;
22:4 また香柏を数えきれぬほど備えた。これはシドンびととツロの人々がおびただしく香柏をダビデの所に持って来たからである。
22:4 Also cedar trees in abundance: for the Zidonians and they of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.
22:5 ダビデは言った、「わが子ソロモンは若く、かつ経験がない。また主のために建てる家はきわめて壮大で、万国に名を得、栄えを得るものでなければならない。それゆえ、わたしはその準備をしておこう」と。こうしてダビデは死ぬ前に多くの物資を準備した。
22:5 And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be built for the LORD must be exceedingly magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.
22:6 そして彼はその子ソロモンを召して、イスラエルの神、主のために家を建てることを命じた。
22:6 Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build an house for the LORD God of Israel.
22:7 すなわちダビデはソロモンに言った、「わが子よ、わたしはわが神、主の名のために家を建てようと志していた。
22:7 And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God:
22:8 ところが主の言葉がわたしに臨んで言われた、『おまえは多くの血を流し、大いなる戦争をした。おまえはわたしの前で多くの血を地に流したから、わが名のために家を建ててはならない。
22:8 But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, You have shed blood abundantly, and have made great wars: you shall not build an house unto my name, because you have shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.
22:9 見よ、男の子がおまえに生れる。彼は平和の人である。わたしは彼に平安を与えて、周囲のもろもろの敵に煩わされないようにしよう。彼の名はソロモンと呼ばれ、彼の世にわたしはイスラエルに平安と静穏とを与える。
22:9 Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.
22:10 彼はわが名のために家を建てるであろう。彼はわが子となり、わたしは彼の父となる。わたしは彼の王位をながくイスラエルの上に堅くするであろう』。
22:10 He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.
22:11 それでわが子よ、どうか主があなたと共にいまし、あなたを栄えさせて、主があなたについて言われたように、あなたの神、主の家を建てさせてくださるように。
22:11 Now, my son, the LORD be with you; and prosper you, and build the house of the LORD your God, as he has said of you.
22:12 ただ、どうか主があなたに分別と知恵を賜い、あなたをイスラエルの上に立たせられるとき、あなたの神、主の律法を、あなたに守らせてくださるように。
22:12 Only the LORD give you wisdom and understanding, and give you charge concerning Israel, that you may keep the law of the LORD your God.
22:13 あなたがもし、主がイスラエルについてモーセに命じられた定めとおきてとを慎んで守るならば、あなたは栄えるであろう。心を強くし、勇め。恐れてはならない、おののいてはならない。
22:13 Then shall you prosper, if you take heed to fulfill the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.
22:14 見よ、わたしは苦難のうちにあって主の家のために金十万タラント、銀百万タラントを備え、また青銅と鉄を量ることもできないほどおびただしく備えた。また材木と石をも備えた。あなたはまたこれに加えなければならない。
22:14 Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and you may add thereto.
22:15 あなたにはまた多数の職人、すなわち石や木を切り刻む者、工作に巧みな各種の者がある。
22:15 Moreover there are workmen with you in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work.
22:16 金、銀、青銅、鉄もおびただしくある。たって行いなさい。どうか主があなたと共におられるように」。
22:16 Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with you.
22:17 ダビデはまたイスラエルのすべてのつかさたちにその子ソロモンを助けるように命じて言った、
22:17 David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,
22:18 「あなたがたの神、主はあなたがたとともにおられるではないか。四方に泰平を賜わったではないか。主はこの地の民をわたしの手にわたされたので、この地は主の前とその民の前に服している。
22:18 Is not the LORD your God with you? and has he not given you rest on every side? for he has given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people.
22:19 それであなたがたは心をつくし、精神をつくしてあなたがたの神、主を求めなさい。たって主なる神の聖所を建て、主の名のために建てるその家に、主の契約の箱と神の聖なるもろもろの器を携え入れなさい」。
22:19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build all of you the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD.
23:1 ダビデは老い、その日が満ちたので、その子ソロモンをイスラエルの王とした。
23:1 So when David was old and full of days, he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
23:2 ダビデはイスラエルのすべてのつかさおよび祭司とレビびとを集めた。
23:2 And he gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
23:3 レビびとの三十歳以上のものを数えると、その男の数が三万八千人あった。
23:3 Now the Levites were numbered from the age of thirty years and upward: and their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty and eight thousand.
23:4 ダビデは言った、「そのうち二万四千人は主の家の仕事をつかさどり、六千人はつかさびと、およびさばきびととなり、
23:4 Of which, twenty and four thousand were to set forward the work of the house of the LORD; and six thousand were officers and judges:
23:5 四千人は門を守る者となり、また四千人はさんびのためにわたしの造った楽器で主をたたえよ」。
23:5 Moreover four thousand were porters; and four thousand praised the LORD with the instruments which I made, said David, to praise therewith.
23:6 そしてダビデは彼らをレビの子らにしたがってゲルション、コハテ、メラリの組に分けた。
23:6 And David divided them into courses among the sons of Levi, namely, Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
23:7 ゲルションの子らはラダンとシメイ。
23:7 Of the Gershonites were, Laadan, and Shimei.
23:8 ラダンの子らは、かしらのエヒエルとゼタムとヨエルの三人。
23:8 The sons of Laadan; the chief was Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
23:9 シメイの子らはシロミテ、ハジエル、ハランの三人。これらはラダンの氏族の長であった。
23:9 The sons of Shimei; Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the chief of the fathers of Laadan.
23:10 シメイの子らはヤハテ、ジナ、エウシ、ベリアの四人。皆シメイの子で、
23:10 And the sons of Shimei were, Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah. These four were the sons of Shimei.
23:11 ヤハテはかしら、ジザはその次、エウシとベリアは子が多くなかったので、ともに数えられて一つの氏族となった。
23:11 And Jahath was the chief, and Zizah the second: but Jeush and Beriah had not many sons; therefore they were in one reckoning, according to their father's house.
23:12 コハテの子らはアムラム、イヅハル、ヘブロン、ウジエルの四人。
23:12 The sons of Kohath; Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
23:13 アムラムの子らはアロンとモーセである。アロンはその子らとともに、ながくいと聖なるものを聖別するために分かたれて、主の前に香をたき、主に仕え、常に主の名をもって祝福することをなした。
23:13 The sons of Amram; Aaron and Moses: and Aaron was separated, that he should sanctify the most holy things, he and his sons for ever, to burn incense before the LORD, to minister unto him, and to bless in his name for ever.
23:14 神の人モーセの子らはレビの部族のうちに数えられた。
23:14 Now concerning Moses the man of God, his sons were named of the tribe of Levi.
23:15 モーセの子らはゲルションとエリエゼル。
23:15 The sons of Moses were, Gershom, and Eliezer.
23:16 ゲルションの子らは、かしらはシブエル。
23:16 Of the sons of Gershom, Shebuel was the chief.
23:17 エリエゼルの子らは、かしらはレハビヤ。エリエゼルにはこのほかに子がなかった。しかしレハビヤの子らは非常に多かった。
23:17 And the sons of Eliezer were, Rehabiah the chief. And Eliezer had no other sons; but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.
23:18 イヅハルの子らは、かしらはシロミテ。
23:18 Of the sons of Izhar; Shelomith the chief.
23:19 ヘブロンの子らは長子はエリヤ、次はアマリヤ、第三はヤハジエル、第四はエカメアム。
23:19 Of the sons of Hebron; Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
23:20 ウジエルの子らは、かしらはミカ、次はイシアである。
23:20 Of the sons of Uzziel; Micah the first and Jesiah the second.
23:21 メラリの子らはマヘリとムシ。マヘリの子らはエレアザルとキシ。
23:21 The sons of Merari; Mahli, and Mushi. The sons of Mahli; Eleazar, and Kish.
23:22 エレアザルは男の子がなくて死に、ただ娘たちだけであったが、キシの子であるその身内の男たちが彼女たちをめとった。
23:22 And Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters: and their brethren the sons of Kish took them.
23:23 ムシの子らはマヘリ、エデル、エレモテの三人である。
23:23 The sons of Mushi; Mahli, and Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
23:24 これらはその氏族によるレビの子孫であって、その人数が数えられ、その名がしるされて、主の家の務をなした二十歳以上の者で、氏族の長であった。
23:24 These were the sons of Levi after the house of their fathers; even the chief of the fathers, as they were counted by number of names by their polls, that did the work for the service of the house of the LORD, from the age of twenty years and upward.
23:25 ダビデは言った、「イスラエルの神、主はその民に平安を与え、ながくエルサレムに住まわれる。
23:25 For David said, The LORD God of Israel has given rest unto his people, that they may dwell in Jerusalem for ever:
23:26 レビびとは重ねて幕屋およびその勤めの器物をかつぐことはない。
23:26 And also unto the Levites; they shall no more carry the tabernacle, nor any vessels of it for the service thereof.
23:27 ――ダビデの最後の言葉によって、レビびとは二十歳以上の者が数えられた――
23:27 For by the last words of David the Levites were numbered from twenty years old and above:
23:28 彼らの務はアロンの子孫を助けて主の家の働きをし、庭とへやの仕事およびすべての聖なるものを清めること、そのほか、すべて神の家の働きをすることである。
23:28 Because their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;
23:29 また供えのパン、素祭の麦粉、種入れぬ菓子、焼いた供え物、油をまぜた供え物をつかさどり、またすべて分量および大きさを量ることをつかさどり、
23:29 Both for the showbread, and for the fine flour for food offering, and for the unleavened cakes, and for that which is baked in the pan, and for that which is fried, and for all manner of measure and size;
23:30 また朝ごとに立って主に感謝し、さんびし、夕にもまたそのようにし、
23:30 And to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD, and likewise at even:
23:31 また安息日と新月と祭日に、主にもろもろの燔祭をささげるときは、絶えず主の前にその命じられた数にしたがってささげなければならない。
23:31 And to offer all burnt sacrifices unto the LORD in the sabbaths, in the new moons, and on the set feasts, by number, according to the order commanded unto them, continually before the LORD:
23:32 このようにして彼らは会見の幕屋と聖所の務を守り、主の家の働きのためにその兄弟であるアロンの子らに仕えなければならない」。
23:32 And that they should keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the holy place, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, in the service of the house of the LORD.
24:1 アロンの子孫の組は次のとおりである。すなわちアロンの子らはナダブ、アビウ、エレアザル、イタマル。
24:1 Now these are the divisions of the sons of Aaron. The sons of Aaron; Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
24:2 ナダブとアビウはその父に先だって死に、子がなかったので、エレアザルとイタマルが祭司となった。
24:2 But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children: therefore Eleazar and Ithamar executed the priest's office.
24:3 ダビデはエレアザルの子孫ザドクとイタマルの子孫アヒメレクの助けによって彼らを分けて、それぞれの勤めにつけた。
24:3 And David distributed them, both Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, according to their offices in their service.
24:4 エレアザルの子孫のうちにはイタマルの子孫のうちよりも長たる人々が多かった。それでエレアザルの子孫で氏族の長である十六人と、イタマルの子孫で氏族の長である者八人にこれを分けた。
24:4 And there were more chief men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar, and thus were they divided. Among the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen chief men of the house of their fathers, and eight among the sons of Ithamar according to the house of their fathers.
24:5 このように彼らは皆ひとしく、くじによって分けられた。聖所のつかさ、および神のつかさは、ともにエレアザルの子孫とイタマルの子孫から出たからである。
24:5 Thus were they divided by lot, one sort with another; for the governors of the sanctuary, and governors of the house of God, were of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar.
24:6 レビびとネタネルの子である書記シマヤは、王とつかさたちと祭司ザドクとアビヤタルの子アヒメレクと祭司およびレビびとの氏族の長たちの前で、これを書きしるした。すなわちエレアザルのために氏族一つを取れば、イタマルのためにも一つを取った。
24:6 And Shemaiah the son of Nethaneel the scribe, one of the Levites, wrote them before the king, and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and before the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites: one principal household being taken for Eleazar, and one taken for Ithamar.
24:7 第一のくじはヨアリブに当り、第二はエダヤに当り、
24:7 Now the first lot came forth to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah,
24:8 第三はハリムに、第四はセオリムに、
24:8 The third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim,
24:9 第五はマルキヤに、第六はミヤミンに、
24:9 The fifth to Malchijah, the sixth to Mijamin,
24:10 第七はハッコヅに、第八はアビヤに、
24:10 The seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah,
24:11 第九はエシュアに、第十はシカニヤに、
24:11 The ninth to Jeshuah, the tenth to Shecaniah,
24:12 第十一はエリアシブに、第十二はヤキムに、
24:12 The eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim,
24:13 第十三はホッパに、第十四はエシバブに、
24:13 The thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebeab,
24:14 第十五はビルガに、第十六はインメルに、
24:14 The fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer,
24:15 第十七はヘジルに、第十八はハピセツに、
24:15 The seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Aphses,
24:16 第十九はペタヒヤに、第二十はエゼキエルに、
24:16 The nineteenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Jehezekel,
24:17 第二十一はヤキンに、第二十二はガムルに、
24:17 The one and twentieth to Jachin, the two and twentieth to Gamul,
24:18 第二十三はデラヤに、第二十四はマアジヤに当った。
24:18 The three and twentieth to Delaiah, the four and twentieth to Maaziah.
24:19 これは、彼らの先祖アロンによって設けられた定めにしたがい、主の家にはいって務をなす順序であって、イスラエルの神、主の彼に命じられたとおりである。
24:19 These were the orderings of them in their service to come into the house of the LORD, according to their manner, under Aaron their father, as the LORD God of Israel had commanded him.
24:20 このほかのレビの子孫は次のとおりである。すなわちアムラムの子らのうちではシュバエル。シュバエルの子らのうちではエデヤ。
24:20 And the rest of the sons of Levi were these: Of the sons of Amram; Shubael: of the sons of Shubael; Jehdeiah.
24:21 レハビヤについては、レハビヤの子らのうちでは長子イシア。
24:21 Concerning Rehabiah: of the sons of Rehabiah, the first was Isshiah.
24:22 イヅハリびとのうちではシロミテ。シロミテの子らのうちではヤハテ。
24:22 Of the Izharites; Shelomoth: of the sons of Shelomoth; Jahath.
24:23 ヘブロンの子らは長子はエリヤ、次はアマリヤ、第三はヤハジエル、第四はエカメアム。
24:23 And the sons of Hebron; Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, Jekameam the fourth.

24:27 The sons of Merari by Jaaziah; Beno, and Shoham, and Zaccur, and Ibri.
24:28 マヘリからエレアザルが出た。彼には子がなかった。
24:28 Of Mahli came Eleazar, who had no sons.

24:29 Concerning Kish: the son of Kish was Jerahmeel.

24:30 The sons also of Mushi; Mahli, and Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites after the house of their fathers.

24:31 These likewise cast lots opposite to their brethren the sons of Aaron in the presence of David the king, and Zadok, and Ahimelech, and the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites, even the principal fathers opposite to their younger brethren.

25:1 Moreover David and the captains of the host separated to the service of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of the workmen according to their service was:
25:2 アサフの子たちはザックル、ヨセフ、ネタニヤ、アサレラであって、アサフの指揮のもとに王の命によって預言した者である。
25:2 Of the sons of Asaph; Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph under the hands of Asaph, which prophesied according to the order of the king.
25:3 エドトンについては、エドトンの子たちはゲダリヤ、ゼリ、エサヤ、ハシャビヤ、マッタテヤの六人で、琴をもって主に感謝し、かつほめたたえて預言したその父エドトンの指揮の下にあった。
25:3 Of Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp, to give thanks and to praise the LORD.
25:4 ヘマンについては、ヘマンの子たちはブッキヤ、マッタニヤ、ウジエル、シブエル、エレモテ、ハナニヤ、ハナニ、エリアタ、ギダルテ、ロマムテ・エゼル、ヨシベカシャ、マロテ、ホテル、マハジオテである。
25:4 Of Heman: the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamtiezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth:
25:5 これらは皆、神がご自身の約束にしたがって高くされた王の先見者ヘマンの子たちであった。神はヘマンに男の子十四人、女の子三人を与えられた。
25:5 All these were the sons of Heman the king's seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.
25:6 これらの者は皆その父の指揮の下にあって、主の宮で歌をうたい、シンバルと立琴と琴をもって神の宮の務をした。アサフ、エドトンおよびヘマンは王の命の下にあった。
25:6 All these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of the LORD, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king's order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.
25:7 彼らおよび主に歌をうたうことのために訓練され、すべて熟練した兄弟たちの数は二百八十八人であった。
25:7 So the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in the songs of the LORD, even all that were cunning, was two hundred fourscore and eight.
25:8 彼らは小なる者も、大なる者も、教師も生徒も皆ひとしくその務のためにくじを引いた。
25:8 And they cast lots, ward against ward, as well the small as the great, the teacher as the scholar.
25:9 第一のくじはアサフのためにヨセフに当り、第二はゲダリヤに当った。彼とその兄弟たちおよびその子たち、合わせて十二人。
25:9 Now the first lot came forth for Asaph to Joseph: the second to Gedaliah, who with his brethren and sons were twelve:
25:10 第三はザックルに当った。その子たちおよびその兄弟たち、合わせて十二人。
25:10 The third to Zaccur, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
25:11 第四はイヅリに当った。その子たちおよびその兄弟たち、合わせて十二人。
25:11 The fourth to Izri, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
25:12 第五はネタニヤに当った。その子たちおよびその兄弟たち、合わせて十二人。
25:12 The fifth to Nethaniah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

26:1 Concerning the divisions of the porters: Of the Korhites was Meshelemiah the son of Kore, of the sons of Asaph.
26:2 メシレミヤの子たちは、長子はゼカリヤ、次はエデアエル、第三はゼバデヤ、第四はヤテニエル、
26:2 And the sons of Meshelemiah were, Zechariah the firstborn, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel the fourth,
26:3 第五はエラム、第六はヨハナン、第七はエリヨエナイである。
26:3 Elam the fifth, Jehohanan the sixth, Elioenai the seventh.
26:4 オベデ・エドムの子たちは、長子はシマヤ、次はヨザバデ、第三はヨア、第四はサカル、第五はネタネル、
26:4 Moreover the sons of Obededom were, Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, and Sacar the fourth, and Nethaneel the fifth.
26:5 第六はアンミエル、第七はイッサカル、第八はピウレタイである。神が彼を祝福されたからである。
26:5 Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peulthai the eighth: for God blessed him.
26:6 彼の子シマヤにも数人の子が生れ、有能な人々であったので、その父の家を治める者となった。
26:6 Also unto Shemaiah his son were sons born, that ruled throughout the house of their father: for they were mighty men of valour.
26:7 すなわちシマヤの子たちはオテニ、レパエル、オベデ、エルザバデで、エルザバデの兄弟エリウとセマキヤは力ある人々であった。
26:7 The sons of Shemaiah; Othni, and Rephael, and Obed, Elzabad, whose brethren were strong men, Elihu, and Semachiah.
26:8 これらは皆オベデ・エドムの子孫である。彼らはその子たちおよびその兄弟たちと共にその勤めに適した力ある人々で、合わせて六十二人、みなオベデ・エドムに属する者である。
26:8 All these of the sons of Obededom: they and their sons and their brethren, able men for strength for the service, were threescore and two of Obededom.
26:9 メシレミヤにも子たちと兄弟たち合わせて十八人あって、皆力ある人々であった。
26:9 And Meshelemiah had sons and brethren, strong men, eighteen.
26:10 メラリの子孫ホサにも子たちがあった。そのかしらはシムリ、これは長子ではなかったが、父はこれをかしらにしたのであった。
26:10 Also Hosah, of the children of Merari, had sons; Simri the chief, (for though he was not the firstborn, yet his father made him the chief;)
26:11 次はヒルキヤ、第三はテバリヤ、第四はゼカリヤである。ホサの子たちと兄弟たちは合わせて十三人である。
26:11 Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth: all the sons and brethren of Hosah were thirteen.
26:12 これらは門を守る者の組の長たる人々であって、その兄弟たちと同様に務をなして、主の宮に仕えた。
26:12 Among these were the divisions of the porters, even among the chief men, having wards one against another, to minister in the house of the LORD.
26:13 彼らはそれぞれ門のために小なる者も、大なる者も等しく、その氏族にしたがってくじを引いた。
26:13 And they cast lots, as well the small as the great, according to the house of their fathers, for every gate.
26:14 東の門のくじはシレミヤに当った。また彼の子で思慮深い議士ゼカリヤのためにくじを引いたが、北の門のくじがこれに当った。
26:14 And the lot eastward fell to Shelemiah. Then for Zechariah his son, a wise counsellor, they cast lots; and his lot came out northward.
26:15 オベデ・エドムには南の門のくじ、その子たちには倉のくじ、
26:15 To Obededom southward; and to his sons the house of Asuppim.
26:16 シュパムとホサには西の門のくじが当った。これは坂の大路にあるシャレケテの門のかたわらにあった。守る者と守る者とが相対していた。
26:16 To Shuppim and Hosah the lot came forth westward, with the gate Shallecheth, by the causeway of the going up, ward against ward.
26:17 東の方には毎日六人、北の方には毎日四人、南の方には毎日四人、倉には二人と二人、
26:17 Eastward were six Levites, northward four a day, southward four a day, and toward Asuppim two and two.
26:18 西の方パルバルには大路に四人、パルバルに二人。
26:18 At Parbar westward, four at the causeway, and two at Parbar.
26:19 門を守る者の組は以上のとおりで、コラの子孫とメラリの子孫であった。
26:19 These are the divisions of the porters among the sons of Kore, and among the sons of Merari.
26:20 レビびとのうちアヒヤは神の宮の倉および聖なる物の倉をつかさどった。
26:20 And of the Levites, Ahijah was over the treasures of the house of God, and over the treasures of the dedicated things.
26:21 ラダンの子孫すなわちラダンから出たゲルションびとの子孫で、ゲルションびとの氏族の長はエヒエリである。
26:21 As concerning the sons of Laadan; the sons of the Gershonite Laadan, chief fathers, even of Laadan the Gershonite, were Jehieli.
26:22 エヒエリ、ゼタムおよびその兄弟ヨエルの子たちは主の宮の倉をつかさどった。
26:22 The sons of Jehieli; Zetham, and Joel his brother, which were over the treasures of the house of the LORD.
26:23 アムラムびと、イヅハルびと、ヘブロンびと、ウジエルびとのうちでは次のとおりであった。
26:23 Of the Amramites, and the Izharites, the Hebronites, and the Uzzielites:
26:24 すなわちモーセの子ゲルショムの子シブエルは倉のつかさであった。
26:24 And Shebuel the son of Gershom, the son of Moses, was ruler of the treasures.
26:25 その兄弟でエリエゼルから出た者は、その子はレハビヤ、その子はエサヤ、その子はヨラム、その子はジクリ、その子はシロミテである。
26:25 And his brethren by Eliezer; Rehabiah his son, and Jeshaiah his son, and Joram his son, and Zichri his son, and Shelomith his son.
26:26 このシロミテとその兄弟たちはすべての聖なる物の倉をつかさどった。これはダビデ王と、氏族の長と、千人の長と、百人の長と、軍の長たちのささげたものである。
26:26 Which Shelomith and his brethren were over all the treasures of the dedicated things, which David the king, and the chief fathers, the captains over thousands and hundreds, and the captains of the host, had dedicated.
26:27 すなわち彼らが戦いで獲たぶんどり物のうちから主の宮の修繕のためにささげたものである。
26:27 Out of the spoils won in battles did they dedicate to maintain the house of the LORD.
26:28 またすべて先見者サムエル、キシの子サウル、ネルの子アブネル、ゼルヤの子ヨアブなどがささげた物。すべてこれらのささげ物はシロミテとその兄弟たちが管理した。
26:28 And all that Samuel the seer, and Saul the son of Kish, and Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah, had dedicated; and whosoever had dedicated any thing, it was under the hand of Shelomith, and of his brethren.
26:29 イヅハルびとのうちでは、ケナニヤとその子たちが、つかさおよびさばきびととしてイスラエルの外事のために選ばれた。
26:29 Of the Izharites, Chenaniah and his sons were for the outward business over Israel, for officers and judges.
26:30 ヘブロンびとのうちでは、ハシャビヤおよびその兄弟など勇士千七百人があって、ヨルダンのこなた、すなわち西の方でイスラエルの監督となり、主のすべての事を行い、王に奉仕した。
26:30 And of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brethren, men of valour, a thousand and seven hundred, were officers among them of Israel on this side Jordan westward in all the business of the LORD, and in the service of the king.
26:31 ヘブロンびとのうちでは、系図と氏族によってエリヤがヘブロンびとの長であったが、ダビデの治世の第四十年に彼らを尋ね求め、ギレアデのヤゼルで彼らのうちから大勇士を得た。
26:31 Among the Hebronites was Jerijah the chief, even among the Hebronites, according to the generations of his fathers. In the fortieth year of the reign of David they were sought for, and there were found among them mighty men of valour at Jazer of Gilead.
26:32 ダビデ王は彼とその兄弟など氏族の長たち二千七百人の勇士をルベンびと、ガドびと、マナセびとの半部族の監督となし、すべて神につける事と王の事とをつかさどらせた。
26:32 And his brethren, men of valour, were two thousand and seven hundred chief fathers, whom king David made rulers over the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, for every matter pertaining to God, and affairs of the king.
27:1 イスラエルの子孫のうちで氏族の長、千人の長、百人の長、およびつかさたちは年のすべての月の間、月ごとに交替して組のすべての事をなして王に仕えたが、その数にしたがえば各組二万四千人あった。
27:1 Now the children of Israel after their number, to know, the chief fathers and captains of thousands and hundreds, and their officers that served the king in any matter of the courses, which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year, of every course were twenty and four thousand.
27:2 まず第一の組すなわち正月の分はザブデエルの子ヤショベアムがこれを率いた。その組には二万四千人あった。
27:2 Over the first course for the first month was Jashobeam the son of Zabdiel: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
27:3 彼はペレヅの子孫で、正月の軍団のすべての将たちのかしらであった。
27:3 Of the children of Perez was the chief of all the captains of the host for the first month.
27:4 二月の組はアホアびとドダイがこれを率いた。その組には二万四千人あった。
27:4 And over the course of the second month was Dodai an Ahohite, and of his course was Mikloth also the ruler: in his course likewise were twenty and four thousand.

27:5 The third captain of the host for the third month was Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, a chief priest: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
27:6 このベナヤはかの三十人のうちの勇士であって三十人を率い、その子アミザバデがその組にあった。
27:6 This is that Benaiah, who was mighty among the thirty, and above the thirty: and in his course was Ammizabad his son.
27:7 四月の第四の将はヨアブの兄弟アサヘルであって、その子ゼバデヤがこれに次いだ。その組には二万四千人あった。
27:7 The fourth captain for the fourth month was Asahel the brother of Joab, and Zebadiah his son after him: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.

27:8 The fifth captain for the fifth month was Shamhuth the Izrahite: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.

27:10 The seventh captain for the seventh month was Helez the Pelonite, of the children of Ephraim: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.

27:11 The eighth captain for the eighth month was Sibbecai the Hushathite, of the Zarhites: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.

27:12 The ninth captain for the ninth month was Abiezer the Anetothite, of the Benjamites: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.

27:13 The tenth captain for the tenth month was Maharai the Netophathite, of the Zarhites: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.

27:16 Furthermore over the tribes of Israel: the ruler of the Reubenites was Eliezer the son of Zichri: of the Simeonites, Shephatiah the son of Maachah:
27:17 レビびとのつかさはケムエルの子ハシャビヤ。アロンびとのつかさはザドク。
27:17 Of the Levites, Hashabiah the son of Kemuel: of the Aaronites, Zadok:

27:18 Of Judah, Elihu, one of the brethren of David: of Issachar, Omri the son of Michael:

27:21 Of the half tribe of Manasseh in Gilead, Iddo the son of Zechariah: of Benjamin, Jaasiel the son of Abner:

27:22 Of Dan, Azareel the son of Jeroham. These were the princes of the tribes of Israel.
27:23 しかしダビデは二十歳以下の者は数えなかった。主がかつてイスラエルを天の星のように多くすると言われたからである。
27:23 But David took not the number of them from twenty years old and under: because the LORD had said he would increase Israel like to the stars of the heavens.
27:24 ゼルヤの子ヨアブは数え始めたが、これをなし終えなかった。その数えることによって怒りがイスラエルの上に臨んだ。またその数はダビデ王の歴代志に載せなかった。
27:24 Joab the son of Zeruiah began to number, but he finished not, because there fell wrath for it against Israel; neither was the number put in the account of the chronicles of king David.
27:25 アデエルの子アズマウテは王の倉をつかさどり、ウジヤの子ヨナタンは田野、町々、村々、もろもろの塔にある倉をつかさどり、
27:25 And over the king's treasures was Azmaveth the son of Adiel: and over the storehouses in the fields, in the cities, and in the villages, and in the castles, was Jehonathan the son of Uzziah:

27:26 And over them that did the work of the field for tillage of the ground was Ezri the son of Chelub:

27:28 And over the olive trees and the sycomore trees that were in the low plains was Baalhanan the Gederite: and over the cellars of oil was Joash:

27:29 And over the herds that fed in Sharon was Shitrai the Sharonite: and over the herds that were in the valleys was Shaphat the son of Adlai:

27:30 Over the camels also was Obil the Ishmaelite: and over the asses was Jehdeiah the Meronothite:
27:31 ハガルびとヤジズは羊の群れをつかさどった。彼らは皆ダビデ王の財産のつかさであった。
27:31 And over the flocks was Jaziz the Hagerite. All these were the rulers of the substance which was king David's.
27:32 またダビデのおじヨナタンは議官で、知恵ある人であり、学者であった。また彼とハクモニの子エヒエルは王の子たちの補佐であった。
27:32 Also Jonathan David's uncle was a counsellor, a wise man, and a scribe: and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni was with the king's sons:
27:33 アヒトペルは王の議官。アルキびとホシャイは王の友であった。
27:33 And Ahithophel was the king's counsellor: and Hushai the Archite was the king's companion:
27:34 アヒトペルに次ぐ者はベナヤの子エホヤダおよびアビヤタル。王の軍の長はヨアブであった。
27:34 And after Ahithophel was Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar: and the general of the king's army was Joab.
28:1 ダビデはイスラエルのすべての長官、すなわち部族の長、王に仕えた組の長、千人の長、百人の長、王とその子たちのすべての財産および家畜のつかさ、宦官、有力者、勇士などをことごとくエルサレムに召し集めた。
28:1 And David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies that ministered to the king by course, and the captains over the thousands, and captains over the hundreds, and the stewards over all the substance and possession of the king, and of his sons, with the officers, and with the mighty men, and with all the valiant men, unto Jerusalem.
28:2 そしてダビデ王はその足で立ち上がって言った、「わが兄弟たち、わが民よ、わたしに聞きなさい。わたしは主の契約の箱のため、われわれの神の足台のために安住の家を建てようとの志をもち、すでにこれを建てる準備をした。
28:2 Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building:
28:3 しかし神はわたしに言われた、『おまえはわが名のために家を建ててはならない。おまえは軍人であって、多くの血を流したからである』と。
28:3 But God said unto me, You shall not build an house for my name, because you have been a man of war, and have shed blood.
28:4 それにもかかわらず、イスラエルの神、主はわたしの父の全家のうちからわたしを選んで長くイスラエルの王とせられた。すなわちユダを選んでかしらとし、ユダの家のうちで、わたしの父の家を選び、わたしの父の子らのうちで、わたしを喜び、全イスラエルの王とせられた。
28:4 Nevertheless the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he has chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel:
28:5 そして主はわたしに多くの子を賜わり、そのすべての子らのうちからわが子ソロモンを選び、これを主の国の位にすわらせて、イスラエルを治めさせようとせられた。
28:5 And of all my sons, (for the LORD has given me many sons,) he has chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel.
28:6 主はまたわたしに言われた、『おまえの子ソロモンがわが家およびわが庭を造るであろう。わたしは彼を選んでわが子となしたからである。わたしは彼の父となる。
28:6 And he said unto me, Solomon your son, he shall build my house and my courts: for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.
28:7 彼がもし今日のように、わが戒めとわがおきてを固く守って行うならば、わたしはその国をいつまでも堅くするであろう』と。
28:7 Moreover I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments, as at this day.
28:8 それゆえいま、主の会衆なる全イスラエルの目の前およびわれわれの神の聞かれる所であなたがたに勧める。あなたがたはその神、主のすべての戒めを守り、これを求めなさい。そうすればあなたがたはこの良き地を所有し、これをあなたがたの後の子孫に長く嗣業として伝えることができる。
28:8 Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the LORD, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD your God: that all of you may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance for your children after you for ever.
28:9 わが子ソロモンよ、あなたの父の神を知り、全き心をもって喜び勇んで彼に仕えなさい。主はすべての心を探り、すべての思いを悟られるからである。あなたがもし彼を求めるならば会うことができる。しかしあなたがもしかれを捨てるならば彼は長くあなたを捨てられるであろう。
28:9 And you, Solomon my son, know you the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts: if you seek him, he will be found of you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off for ever.
28:10 それであなたは慎みなさい。主はあなたを選んで聖所とすべき家を建てさせようとされるのだから心を強くしてこれを行いなさい」。
28:10 Take heed now; for the LORD has chosen you to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.
28:11 こうしてダビデは神殿の廊およびその家、その倉、その上の室、その内の室、贖罪所の室などの計画をその子ソロモンに授け、
28:11 Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch, and of the houses thereof, and of the treasuries thereof, and of the upper chambers thereof, and of the inner parlours thereof, and of the place of the mercy seat,
28:12 またその心にあったすべてのもの、すなわち主の宮の庭、周囲のすべての室、神の家の倉、ささげ物の倉などの計画を授け、
28:12 And the pattern of all that he had by the spirit, of the courts of the house of the LORD, and of all the chambers round about, of the treasuries of the house of God, and of the treasuries of the dedicated things:
28:13 また祭司およびレビびとの組と、主の宮のもろもろの務の仕事と、主の宮のもろもろの勤めの器物について授け、
28:13 Also for the courses of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and for all the vessels of service in the house of the LORD.
28:14 またもろもろの勤めに用いるすべての金の器を造る金の目方、およびもろもろの勤めに用いる銀の器の目方を定めた。
28:14 He gave of gold by weight for things of gold, for all instruments of all manner of service; silver also for all instruments of silver by weight, for all instruments of every kind of service:
28:15 すなわち金の燭台と、そのともしび皿の目方、おのおのの燭台と、そのともしび皿の金の目方を定め、また銀の燭台についてもおのおのの燭台の用法にしたがって燭台と、そのともしび皿の銀の目方を定めた。
28:15 Even the weight for the candlesticks of gold, and for their lamps of gold, by weight for every candlestick, and for the lamps thereof: and for the candlesticks of silver by weight, both for the candlestick, and also for the lamps thereof, according to the use of every candlestick.
28:16 また供えのパンの机については、そのおのおのの机のために金の目方を定め、また銀の机のためにも銀を定め、
28:16 And by weight he gave gold for the tables of showbread, for every table; and likewise silver for the tables of silver:
28:17 また肉さし、鉢、かめに用いる純金の目方を定め、金の大杯についてもおのおのの目方を定め、銀の大杯についてもおのおのの目方を定め、
28:17 Also pure gold for the forks, and the bowls, and the cups: and for the golden basons he gave gold by weight for every basin; and likewise silver by weight for every basin of silver:
28:18 また香の祭壇のために精金の目方を定め、また翼を伸べて主の契約の箱をおおっているケルビムの金の車のひな型の金を定めた。
28:18 And for the altar of incense refined gold by weight; and gold for the pattern of the chariot of the cherubims, that spread out their wings, and covered the ark of the covenant of the LORD.
28:19 ダビデはすべての工作が計画にしたがってなされるため、これについて主の手によって書かれたものにより、これをことごとく明らかにした。
28:19 All this, said David, the LORD made me understand in writing by his hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern.
28:20 ダビデはその子ソロモンに言った、「あなたは心を強くし、勇んでこれを行いなさい。恐れてはならない。おののいてはならない。主なる神、わたしの神があなたとともにおられるからである。主はあなたを離れず、あなたを捨てず、ついに主の宮の務のすべての工事をなし終えさせられるでしょう。
28:20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with you; he will not fail you, nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.
28:21 見よ、神の宮のすべての務のためには祭司とレビびとの組がある。またもろもろの勤めのためにすべての仕事を喜んでする巧みな者が皆あなたと共にある。またつかさたちおよびすべての民もあなたの命じるところをことごとく行うでしょう」。
28:21 And, behold, the courses of the priests and the Levites, even they shall be with you for all the service of the house of God: and there shall be with you for all manner of workmanship every willing skilful man, for any manner of service: also the princes and all the people will be wholly at your commandment.
29:1 ダビデ王はまた全会衆に言った、「わが子ソロモンは神がただひとりを選ばれた者であるが、まだ若くて経験がなく、この事業は大きい。この宮は人のためではなく、主なる神のためだからである。
29:1 Furthermore David the king said unto all the congregation, Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great: for the palace is not for man, but for the LORD God.
29:2 そこでわたしは力をつくして神の宮のために備えた。すなわち金の物を造るために金、銀の物のために銀、青銅の物のために青銅、鉄の物のために鉄、木の物のために木を備えた。その他縞めのう、はめ石、アンチモニイ、色のついた石、さまざまの宝石、大理石などおびただしい。
29:2 Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for things to be made of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and the brass for things of brass, the iron for things of iron, and wood for things of wood; onyx stones, and stones to be set, flashing stones, and of divers colours, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.
29:3 なおわたしはわが神の宮に熱心なるがゆえに、聖なる家のために備えたすべての物に加えて、わたしの持っている金銀の財宝をわが神の宮にささげる。
29:3 Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have of mine own proper good, of gold and silver, which I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house.
29:4 すなわちオフルの金三千タラント、精銀七千タラントをそのもろもろの建物の壁をおおうためにささげる。
29:4 Even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses likewise:
29:5 金は金の物のために、銀は銀の物のために、すべて工人によって造られるもののために用いる。だれかきょう、主にその身をささげる者のように喜んでささげ物をするだろうか」。
29:5 The gold for things of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and for all manner of work to be made by the hands of artificers. And who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the LORD?
29:6 そこで氏族の長たち、イスラエルの部族のつかさたち、千人の長、百人の長および王の工事をつかさどる者たちは喜んでささげ物をした。
29:6 Then the chief of the fathers and princes of the tribes of Israel and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers of the king's work, offered willingly,
29:7 こうして彼らは神の宮の務のために金五千タラント一万ダリク、銀一万タラント、青銅一万八千タラント、鉄十万タラントをささげた。
29:7 And gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand drams, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and one hundred thousand talents of iron.
29:8 宝石を持っている者はそれをゲルションびとエヒエルの手によって神の宮の倉に納めた。
29:8 And they with whom precious stones were found gave them to the treasure of the house of the LORD, by the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.
29:9 彼らがこのように真心からみずから進んで主にささげたので、民はそのみずから進んでささげたのを喜んだ。ダビデ王もまた大いに喜んだ。
29:9 Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.
29:10 そこでダビデは全会衆の前で主をほめたたえた。ダビデは言った、「われわれの先祖イスラエルの神、主よ、あなたはとこしえにほむべきかたです。
29:10 Wherefore David blessed the LORD before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed be you, LORD God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.
29:11 主よ、大いなることと、力と、栄光と、勝利と、威光とはあなたのものです。天にあるもの、地にあるものも皆あなたのものです。主よ、国もまたあなたのものです。あなたは万有のかしらとして、あがめられます。
29:11 Yours, O LORD is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is yours; yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and you are exalted as head above all.
29:12 富と誉とはあなたから出ます。あなたは万有をつかさどられます。あなたの手には勢いと力があります。あなたの手はすべてのものを大いならしめ、強くされます。
29:12 Both riches and honour come of you, and you reign over all; and in yours hand is power and might; and in yours hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.
29:13 われわれの神よ、われわれは、いま、あなたに感謝し、あなたの光栄ある名をたたえます。
29:13 Now therefore, our God, we thank you, and praise your glorious name.
29:14 しかしわれわれがこのように喜んでささげることができても、わたしは何者でしょう。わたしの民は何でしょう。すべての物はあなたから出ます。われわれはあなたから受けて、あなたにささげたのです。
29:14 But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of you, and of yours own have we given you.
29:15 われわれはあなたの前ではすべての先祖たちのように、旅びとです、寄留者です。われわれの世にある日は影のようで、長くとどまることはできません。
29:15 For we are strangers before you, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding.
29:16 われわれの神、主よ、あなたの聖なる名のために、あなたに家を建てようとしてわれわれが備えたこの多くの物は皆あなたの手から出たもの、また皆あなたのものです。
29:16 O LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build you an house for yours holy name comes of yours hand, and is all yours own.
29:17 わが神よ、あなたは心をためし、また正直を喜ばれることを、わたしは知っています。わたしは正しい心で、このすべての物を喜んでささげました。今わたしはまた、ここにおるあなたの民が喜んで、みずから進んであなたにささげ物をするのを見ました。
29:17 I know also, my God, that you try the heart, and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy your people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto you.
29:18 われわれの先祖アブラハム、イサク、イスラエルの神、主よ、あなたの民の心にこの意志と精神とをいつまでも保たせ、その心をあなたに向けさせてください。
29:18 O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of your people, and prepare their heart unto you:
29:19 またわが子ソロモンに心をつくしてあなたの命令と、あなたのあかしと、あなたのさだめとを守らせて、これをことごとく行わせ、わたしが備えをした宮を建てさせてください」。
29:19 And give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep your commandments, your testimonies, and your statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for the which I have made provision.
29:20 そしてダビデが全会衆にむかって、「あなたがたの神、主をほめたたえよ」と言ったので、全会衆は先祖たちの神、主をほめたたえ、伏して主を拝し、王に敬礼した。
29:20 And David said to all the congregation, Now bless the LORD your God. And all the congregation blessed the LORD God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped the LORD, and the king.
29:21 そしてその翌日彼らは全イスラエルのために主に犠牲をささげた。すなわち燔祭として雄牛一千、雄羊一千、小羊一千をその灌祭と共に主にささげ、おびただしい犠牲をささげた。
29:21 And they sacrificed sacrifices unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings unto the LORD, on the next day after that day, even a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, with their drink offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel:
29:22 そしてその日、彼らは大いなる喜びをもって主の前に食い飲みした。彼らはさらに改めてダビデの子ソロモンを王となし、これに油を注いで主の君となし、またザドクを祭司とした。
29:22 And did eat and drink before the LORD on that day with great gladness. And they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him unto the LORD to be the chief governor, and Zadok to be priest.
29:23 こうしてソロモンはその父ダビデに代り、王として主の位に座した。彼は栄え、イスラエルは皆彼に従った。
29:23 Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.
29:24 またすべてのつかさたち、勇士たち、およびダビデ王の王子たちも皆ソロモン王に忠誠を誓った。
29:24 And all the princes, and the mighty men, and all the sons likewise of king David, submitted themselves unto Solomon the king.
29:25 主は全イスラエルの目の前でソロモンを非常に大いならしめ、彼より前のイスラエルのどの王も得たことのない王威を彼に与えられた。
29:25 And the LORD magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.
29:26 このようにエッサイの子ダビデは全イスラエルを治めた。
29:26 Thus David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel.
29:27 彼がイスラエルを治めた期間は四十年であった。すなわちヘブロンで七年世を治め、エルサレムで三十三年世を治めた。
29:27 And the time that he reigned over Israel was forty years; seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three years reigned he in Jerusalem.
29:28 彼は高齢に達し、年も富も誉も満ち足りて死んだ。その子ソロモンが彼に代って王となった。
29:28 And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honour: and Solomon his son reigned in his position.
29:29 ダビデ王の始終の行為は、先見者サムエルの書、預言者ナタンの書および先見者ガドの書にしるされている。
29:29 Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer,

29:30 With all his reign and his might, and the times that went over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdoms of the countries.
