17:1 イエスは弟子たちに言われた、「罪の誘惑が来ることは避けられない。しかし、それをきたらせる者は、わざわいである。
17:1 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!
17:2 これらの小さい者のひとりを罪に誘惑するよりは、むしろ、ひきうすを首にかけられて海に投げ入れられた方が、ましである。
17:2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
17:3 あなたがたは、自分で注意しなさい。もしあなたがたの兄弟が罪を犯すなら、彼をいさめなさい。そして悔い改めたら、ゆるしてやりなさい。
17:3 Take heed to yourselves: If your brother trespass against you, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
17:4 もしあなたに対して一日に七度罪を犯し、そして七度『悔い改めます』と言ってあなたのところへ帰ってくれば、ゆるしてやるがよい」。
17:4 And if he trespass against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day return to you, saying, I repent; you shall forgive him.
17:5 使徒たちは主に「わたしたちの信仰を増してください」と言った。
17:5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
17:6 そこで主が言われた、「もし、からし種一粒ほどの信仰があるなら、この桑の木に、『抜け出して海に植われ』と言ったとしても、その言葉どおりになるであろう。
17:6 And the Lord said, If all of you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, all of you might say unto this sycamine tree, Be you plucked up by the root, and be you planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
17:7 あなたがたのうちでだれかに、耕作か牧畜かをする僕があるとする。その僕が畑から帰って来たとき、彼に『かぐきて、食卓につきなさい』と言うだろうか、
17:7 But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he has come from the field, Go and sit down to food?
17:8 かえって、『夕食の用意をしてくれ。そしてわたしが飲み食いするあいだ、帯をしめて給仕をしなさい。そのあとで、飲み食いをするがよい』と、言うではないか。
17:8 And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird yourself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward you shall eat and drink?
17:9 僕が命じられたことをしたからといって、主人は彼に感謝するだろうか。
17:9 Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I I think not not.
17:10 同様にあなたがたも、命じられたことを皆してしまったとき、『わたしはふつつかな僕です。すべき事をしたに過ぎません』と言いなさい」。
17:10 So likewise all of you, when all of you shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are useless servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
17:11 イエスはエルサレムへ行かれるとき、サマリヤとガリラヤとの間を通られた。
17:11 And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
17:12 そして、ある村へはいられると、十人のらい病人に出会われたが、彼らは遠くの方で立ちとどまり、
17:12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood far off:
17:13 声を張りあげて、「イエスさま、わたしたちをあわれんでください」と言った。
17:13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
17:14 イエスは彼らをごらんになって、「祭司たちのところへ行って、からだを見せなさい」と言われた。そして、行く途中で彼らはきよめられた。
17:14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go show yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
17:15 そのうちのひとりは、自分がいやされたことを知り、大声で神をほめたたえながら帰ってきて、
17:15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
17:16 イエスの足もとにひれ伏して感謝した。これはサマリヤ人であった。
17:16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
17:17 イエスは彼にむかって言われた、「きよめられたのは、十人ではなかったか。ほかの九人は、どこにいるのか。
17:17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
17:18 神をほめたたえるために帰ってきたのものは、この他国人のほかにはいないのか」。
17:18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
17:19 それから、その人に言われた、「立って行きなさい。あなたの信仰があなたを救ったのだ」。
17:19 And he said unto him, Arise, go your way: your faith has made you whole.
17:20 神の国はいつ来るのかと、パリサイ人が訪ねたので、イエスは答えて言われた、「神の国は、見られるかたちで来るものではない。
17:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God comes not with observation:
17:21 また『見よ、ここにある』『あそこにある』などとも言えない。神の国は、実にあなたがたのただ中にあるのだ」。
17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
17:22 それから弟子たちに言われた、「あなたがたは、人の子の日を一日でも見たいと願っても見ることができない時が来るであろう。
17:22 And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when all of you shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and all of you shall not see it.
17:23 人々はあなたがたに、『見よ、あそこに』『見よ、ここに』と言うだろう。しかし、そちらへ行くな、彼らのあとを追うな。
17:23 And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them.
17:24 いなずまが天の端からひかり出て天の端へとひらめき渡るように、人の子もその日には同じようであろだろう。
17:24 For as the lightning, that lightens out of the one part under heaven, shines unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.
17:25 しかし、彼はまず多くの苦しみを受け、またこの時代の人々に捨てられねばならない。
17:25 But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.
17:26 そして、ノアの時にあったように、人の子の時にも同様なことが起こるであろう。
17:26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
17:27 ノアが箱船にはいる日まで、人々は食い、飲み、めとり、とつぎなどしていたが、そこへ洪水が襲ってきて、彼らをことごとく滅ぼした。
17:27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
17:28 ロトの時にも同じようなことが起こった。人々は食い、飲み、買い、売り、植え、建てなどしていたが、
17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;
17:29 ロトがソドムから出て行った日に、天から火と硫黄とが降ってきて、彼らをことごとく滅ぼした。
17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
17:30 人の子が現れる日も、ちょうどそれと同様であろう。
17:30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
17:31 その日には、屋上にいる者は、自分の持ち物が家の中にあっても、取りにおりるな。畑にいる者も同じように、あとへもどるな。
17:31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
17:32 ロトの妻のことを思い出しなさい。
17:32 Remember Lot's wife.
17:33 自分の命を救おうとするものは、それを失い、それを失うものは、保つのである。
17:33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
17:34 あなたがたに言っておく。その夜、ふたりの男が一つ寝床にいるならば、ひとりは取り去られ、他のひとりは残されるであろう。
17:34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
17:35 ふたりの女が一緒にうすをひいているならば、ひとりは取り去られ、他のひとりは残されるであろう。〔
17:35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
17:36 ふたりの男が畑におれば、ひとりは取り去られ、他のひとりは残されるであろう〕」。
17:36 Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
17:37 弟子たちは「主よ、それはどこであるのですか」と尋ねた。するとイエスは言われた、「死体のある所には、はげたかが集まるものである」。
17:37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Where ever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.
18:1 また、イエスは失望せずに常に祈るべきことを、人々に譬で教えられた。
18:1 And he spoke a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
18:2 「ある町に、神を恐れず、人を人と思わぬ裁判官がいた。
18:2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
18:3 ところが、その同じ町にひとりのやもめがいて、彼のもとにたびたびきて、『どうぞ、わたしを訴える者をさばいて、わたしを守ってください』と願いつづけた。
18:3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
18:4 彼はしばらくの間きき入れないでいたが、そののち、心のうちで考えた、『わたしは神をも恐れず、人を人と思わないが、
18:4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
18:5 このやもめがわたしに面倒をかけるから、彼女のためになる裁判をしてやろう。そうしたら、絶えずやってきてわたしを悩ますことがなくなるだろう』」。
18:5 Yet because this widow troubles me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
18:6 そこで主は言われた、「この不義な裁判官の言っていることを聞いたか。
18:6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge says.
18:7 まして神は、日夜叫び求める選民のために、正しいさばきをしてくださらずに長い間そのままにしておかれることがあろうか。
18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
18:8 あなたがたに言っておくが、神はすみやかにさばいてくださるであろう。しかし、人の子が来るとき、地上に信仰が見られるであろうか」。
18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man comes, shall he find faith on the earth?
18:9 自分が義人だと自任して他人を見下げている人に対して、イエスはこの譬をお話になった。
18:9 And he spoke this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
18:10 「ふたりの人が祈るために宮に上った。そのひとりはパリサイ人であり、もうひとりは収税人であった。
18:10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
18:11 パリサイ人は立って、ひとりでこう祈った、『神よ、わたしはほかの人たちのような貪欲な者、不正な者、姦淫をする者ではなく、また、この収税人のような人間でもないことを感謝します。
18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank you, that I am not as other men are, extortionists, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
18:12 わたしは一周に二度断食しており、全収入の十分の一をささげています』。
18:12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
18:13 ところが、収税人は遠く離れて立ち、目を天に向けようともしなしで、胸を打ちながら言った、『神様、罪人のわたしをおゆるしください』と。
18:13 And the publican, standing far off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but stroke upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
18:14 あなたがたに言っておく。神に議とされて自分の家に帰ったのは、この収税人であって、あのパリサイ人ではなかった。おおよそ、自分を高くする者は低くされ、自分を低くする者は高くされるであろう」。
18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalts himself shall be brought low; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted.
18:15 イエスにさわっていただきために、人々が幼な子らをみもとに連れてきた。ところが、弟子たちはそれを見て、彼らをたしなめた。
18:15 And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
18:16 するとイエスは幼な子らを呼び寄せて言われた、「幼な子らをわたしのところに来るままにしておきなさい、止めてはならない。神の国はこのような者の国である。
18:16 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
18:17 よく聞いておくがよい。だれでも幼な子のように神の国を受けいれる者でなければ、そこにないることは決してできない」。
18:17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.
18:18 また、ある役人がイエスに尋ねた、「よき師よ、何をしたら永遠の生命が受けられましょうか」。
18:18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
18:19 イエスは言われた、「なぜわたしをよき者と言うのか。神ひとりのほかによい者はいない。
18:19 And Jesus said unto him, Why call you me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.
18:20 いましめはあなたの知っているとおりである、『姦淫するな、殺すな、盗むな、偽証を立てるな、父と母を敬え』」。
18:20 You know the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour your father and your mother.
18:21 すると彼は言った、「それらのことはみな、小さい時から守っております」。
18:21 And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.
18:22 イエスはこれを聞いて言われた、「あなたのする事がまだ一つ残っている。持っているものをみな売り払って、貧しい人々に分けてやりなさい。そうすれば、天に宝を持つようになろう。そして、わたしに従ってきなさい」。
18:22 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lack you one thing: sell all that you have, and distribute unto the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
18:23 彼はこの言葉を聞いて非常に悲しんだ。大金持であったからである。
18:23 And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.
18:24 イエスは彼の様子を見て言われた、「財産のある者が神の国にはいるのはなんとむずかしいことであろう。
18:24 And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
18:25 富んでいる者が神の国にはいるよりは、らくだが針の穴を通る方が、もっと優しい」。
18:25 For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
18:26 これを聞いた人々が、「それでは、だれが救われることができるのですか」と尋ねると、
18:26 And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved?
18:27 イエスは言われた、「人にはできない事も、神にはできる」。
18:27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
18:28 ペテロが言った、「ごらんなさい、わたしたちは自分のものを捨てて、あなたに従いました」。
18:28 Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed you.
18:29 イエスは言われた、「よく聞いておくがよい。だれでも神の国のために、家、妻、兄弟、両親、子を捨てた者は、
18:29 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that has left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake,
18:30 必ずこの時代ではその幾倍もを受け、また、きたるべき世では永遠の生命を受けるのである」。
18:30 Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.
18:31 イエスは十二弟子を呼び寄せて言われた、「見よ、わたしたちはエルサレムへ上って行くが、人の子について預言者たちがしるしたことは、すべて成就するであろう。
18:31 Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.
18:32 人の子は異邦人に引きわたされ、あざけられ、はずかしめを受け、つばきをかれられ、
18:32 For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully pleaded, and spitted on:
18:33 また、むち打たれてから、ついに殺され、そして三日目によみがえるであろう」。
18:33 And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.
18:34 弟子たちには、これらのことが何一つわからなかった。この言葉が彼らに隠されていたので、イエスの言われた事が理解できなかった。
18:34 And they understood none of these things: and this saying (o. rhema) was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.
18:35 イエスがエリコに近づかれたとき、ある盲人が道ばたにすわって、物ごいをしていた。
18:35 And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:
18:36 群衆が通り過ぎる音を耳にして、彼は何事があるのかと尋ねた。
18:36 And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant.
18:37 ところが、ナザレのイエスがお通りなのだと聞かされたので、
18:37 And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passes by.
18:38 声をあげて、「ダビデの子イエスよ、わたしをあわれんで下さい」と言った。
18:38 And he cried, saying, Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me.
18:39 先頭に立つ人々が彼をしかって黙らせようとしたが、彼はますます激しく叫びつづけた、「ダビデの子よ、わたしをあわれんで下さい」。
18:39 And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, You son of David, have mercy on me.
18:40 そこでイエスは立ちどまって、その者を連れて来るように、とお命じになった。彼が近づいたとき、
18:40 And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him,
18:41 「わたしに何をしてほしいのか」とおたずねになると、「主よ、見えるようになることです」と答えた。
18:41 Saying, What will you that I shall do unto you? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.
18:42 そこでイエスは言われた、「見えるようになれ、あなたの信仰があなたを救った」。
18:42 And Jesus said unto him, Receive your sight: your faith has saved you.
18:43 すると彼は、たちまち見えるようになった。そして神をあがめながらイエスに従って行った。これを見て、人々はみな神をさんびした。
18:43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.
19:1 さて、イエスはエリコにはいって、その町をお通りになった。
19:1 And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.
19:2 ところが、そこにザアカイという名の人がいた。この人は取税人のかしらで、金持であった。
19:2 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
19:3 彼は、イエスがどんな人か見たいと思っていたが、背が低かったので、群衆にさえぎられて見ることができなかった。
19:3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.
19:4 そこでイエスを見るために、前の方に走って行って、いちじく桑の木に登った。そこを通られるところだったからである。
19:4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.
19:5 イエスは、その場所にこられたとき、上を見あげて言われた、「ザアカイよ、急いで下りてきなさい。きょう、あなたの家に泊まることにしているから」。
19:5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; in order to day I must abide at your house.
19:6 そこでザアカイは急いでおりてきて、よろこんでイエスを迎え入れた。
19:6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.
19:7 人々はみな、これを見てつぶやき、「彼は罪人の家にはいって、客となった」と言った。
19:7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.
19:8 ザアカイは立って主に言った、「主よ、わたしは誓って自分の財産の半分を貧民に施します。また、もしだれかから不正な取立をしていましたら、それを四倍にして返します」。
19:8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.
19:9 イエスは彼に言われた、「きょう、救がこの家にきた。この人もアブラハムの子なのだから。
19:9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
19:10 人の子がきたのは、失われたものを尋ね出して救うためである」。
19:10 For the Son of man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.
19:11 人々がこれらの言葉を聞いているとき、イエスはなお一つの譬をお話になった。それはエルサレムに近づいてこられたし、また人々が神の国はたちまち現れると思っていたためである。
19:11 And as they heard these things, he added and spoke a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.
19:12 それで言われた、「ある身分の高い人が、王位を受けて帰ってくるために遠い所へ旅立つことになった。
19:12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
19:13 そこで十人の僕を呼び十ミナを渡して言った、『わたしが帰って来るまで、これで商売をしなさい』。
19:13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
19:14 ところが、本国の住民は彼を憎んでいたので、あとから使者をおくって、『この人が王になるのをわれわれは望んでいない』と言わせた。
19:14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.
19:15 さて、彼が王位を受けて帰ってきたとき、だれがどんなもうけをしたかを知ろうとして、金を渡しておいた僕たちを呼んでこさせた。
19:15 And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
19:16 最初の者が進み出て言った、『ご主人様、あなたの一ミナで十ミナをもうけました』。
19:16 Then came the first, saying, Lord, your pound has gained ten pounds.
19:17 主人は言った、『よい僕よ、うまくやった。あなたは小さい事に忠実であったから、十の町を支配させる』。
19:17 And he said unto him, Well, you good servant: because you have been faithful in a very little, have you authority over ten cities.
19:18 次の者がきて言った、『ご主人様、あなたの一ミナで五ミナをつくりました』。
19:18 And the second came, saying, Lord, your pound has gained five pounds.
19:19 そこでこの者にも、『では、あなたは五つの町のかしらになれ』と言った。
19:19 And he said likewise to him, Be you also over five cities.
19:20 それからもうひとりの者がきて言った、『ご主人様、さあ、ここにあなたの一ミナがあります。わたしはそれをふくさに包んで、しまっておきました。
19:20 And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is your pound, which I have kept laid up in a cloth:
19:21 あなたはきびしい方で、おあずけにならなかったものを取りたて、おまきんならなかったものを刈る人なので、おそろしかったのです』。
19:21 For I feared you, because you are an austere man: you take up that you layed not down, and reap that you did not sow.
19:22 彼に言った、『悪い僕よ、わたしはあなたの言ったその言葉であなたをさばこう。わたしがきびしくて、あずけなかったものを取りたて、まかなかったものを刈る人間だと、知っているのか。
19:22 And he says unto him, Out of yours own mouth will I judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:
19:23 では、なぜわたしの金を銀行に入れなかったのか。そうすれば、わたしが帰ってきたとき、その金を利子と一緒に引き出したであろうに』。
19:23 Wherefore then gave not you my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with interest?
19:24 そして、そばに立っていた人々に、『その一ミナを彼から取り上げて、十ミナを持っている者に与えなさい』と言った。
19:24 And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that has ten pounds.
19:25 彼らは言った、『ご主人様、あの人は既に十ミナを持っています』。
19:25 (And they said unto him, Lord, he has ten pounds.)
19:26 『あなたがたに言うが、おおよそ持っている人には、なお与えられ、持っていない人からは、持っているものまで取り上げられるであろう。
19:26 For I say unto you, That unto every one which has shall be given; and from him that has not, even that he has shall be taken away from him.
19:27 しかしわたしが王になることを好まなかったあの敵どもを、ここにひっぱってきて、わたしの前で打ち殺せ』」。
19:27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring here, and slay them before me.
19:28 イエスはこれらのことを言ったのち、先頭に立ち、エルサレムへ上って行かれた。
19:28 And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem.
19:29 そしてオリブという山に沿ったベテパゲとベタニヤに近づかれたとき、ふたりの弟子をつかわして言われた、
19:29 And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,
19:30 「向こうの村へ行きなさい。そこにはいったら、まだだれも乗ったことのないろばの子がつないであるのを見るであろう。それを解いて、引いてきなさい。
19:30 Saying, Go all of you into the village opposite to you; in the which at your entering all of you shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him here.
19:31 もしだれかが『なぜ解くのか』と問うたら、『主がお入り用なのです』と、そう言いなさい」。
19:31 And if any man ask you, Why do all of you loose him? thus shall all of you say unto him, Because the Lord has need of him.
19:32 そこで、つかわされた者たちが行って見ると、果たして、言われたとおりであった。
19:32 And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.
19:33 彼らが、そのろばの子を解いていると、その持ち主たちが、「なぜろばの子を解くのか」と言ったので、
19:33 And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose all of you the colt?
19:34 「主がお入り用なのです」と答えた。
19:34 And they said, The Lord has need of him.
19:35 そしてそれをイエスのところに引いてきて、そのろばの上に自分たちの上着をかけてイエスをお乗せした。
19:35 And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.
19:36 そして進んで行かれると、人々は自分たちの上着を道に敷いた。
19:36 And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.
19:37 いよいよオリブ山の下り道あたりに近づかれると、大ぜいの弟子たちはみな喜んで、彼らが見たすべての力あるみわざについて、声高らかに神をさんびして言いはじめた、
19:37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;
19:38 「主の御名によってきたる王に、祝福あれ、天には平和、いと高きところには栄光あれ」。
19:38 Saying, Blessed be the King that comes in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
19:39 ところが、群衆の中にいたあるパリサイ人たちがイエスに言った、「先生、あなたの弟子たちをおしかり下さい」。
19:39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke your disciples.
19:40 答えて言われた、「あなたがたに言うが、もしこの人たちが黙れば、石が叫ぶであろう」。
19:40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
19:41 いよいよ都の近くにきて、それが見えたとき、そのために泣いて言われた、
19:41 And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
19:42 「もしおまえも、この日に、平和をもたらす道を知ってさえいたら･･････しかし、それは今おまえの目に隠されている。
19:42 Saying, If you had known, even you, at least in this your day, the things which belong unto your peace! but now they are hid from yours eyes.
19:43 いつかは、敵が周囲に塁を築き、おまえを取りかこんで、四方から押し迫り、
19:43 For the days shall come upon you, that yours enemies shall cast a trench about you, and compass you round, and keep you in on every side,
19:44 おまえとその内にいる子らとを地に打ち倒し、城内の一つの石も他の石の上に残して置かない日が来るであろう。それは、おまえが神のおとずれの時を知らないでいたからである」。
19:44 And shall lay you even with the ground, and your children within you; and they shall not leave in you one stone upon another; because you knew not the time of your visitation.
19:45 それから宮にはいり、商売人たちを追い出しはじめて、
19:45 And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;
19:46 彼らに言われた「『わが家は祈りの家であるべきだ』と書いてあるのに、あなたがたはそれを盗賊の巣にしてしまった」。
19:46 Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but all of you have made it a den of thieves.
19:47 イエスが毎日、宮で教えておられた。祭司長、律法学者また民衆の重立った者たちはイエスを殺そうと思っていたが、
19:47 And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,
19:48 民衆がみな熱心にイエスに耳を傾けていたので、手のくだしようがなかった。
19:48 And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.
20:1 ある日、イエスが宮で人々に教え、福音を宣べておられると、祭司長や律法学者たちが、長老たちと共に近寄ってきて、
20:1 And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders,
20:2 イエスに言った、「何の権威によってこれらの事をするのですか。そうする権威をあなたに与えたのはだれですか、わたしたちに言ってください」。
20:2 And spoke unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority do you these things? or who is he that gave you this authority?
20:3 そこで、イエスは答えて言われた、「わたしも、ひと言たずねよう。それに答えてほしい。
20:3 And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; (o. logos) and answer me:
20:4 ヨハネのバプテスマは、天からであったか、人からであったか」。
20:4 The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men?
20:5 彼らは互いに論じて言った、「もし天からだと言えば、では、なぜ彼を信じなかったのか、とイエスは言うだろう。
20:5 And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed all of you him not?
20:6 しかし、もし人からだと言えば、民衆はみなヨハネを預言者だと信じているから、わたしたちを石で打つだろう」。
20:6 But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet.
20:7 それで彼らは「とこからか、知りません」と答えた。
20:7 And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was.
20:8 イエスはこれに対して言われた、「わたしも何の権威によってこれらのことをするのか、あなたがたに言うまい」。
20:8 And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
20:9 そこでイエスは次の譬を民衆に語り出された、「ある人がぶどう園を造って農夫たちに貸し、長い旅にでた。
20:9 Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time.
20:10 季節になったので、農夫たちのところへ、ひとりの僕を送って、ぶどう園の収穫の分け前を出させようとした。ところが、農夫たちは、その僕を袋だたきにして、から手で帰らせた。
20:10 And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty.
20:11 そこで彼はもうひとりの僕を送った。彼らはそり僕も袋だたきにし、侮辱を加えて、から手で帰らせた。
20:11 And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and pleaded him shamefully, and sent him away empty.
20:12 そこで更に三人目の者を送ったが、彼らはこの者も、傷を負わせて追い出した。
20:12 And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out.
20:13 ぶどう園の主人は言った、『どうしようか。そうだ、わたしの愛子をつかわそう。これなら、たぶんうやまってくれるだろう』。
20:13 Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him.
20:14 ところが、農夫たちは彼を見ると、『あれはあと取りだ。あれを殺してしまおう。そうしたら、その財産はわれわれのものになる』と互いに話し合い、
20:14 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.
20:15 彼をぶどう園の外に追い出して殺した。そのさい、ぶどう園の主人は、彼らをどうするだろうか。
20:15 So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them?
20:16 彼は出てきて、この農夫たちを殺し、ぶどう園を他の人々に与えるであろう」。人々はこれを聞いて、「そんなことがあってはなりません」と言った。
20:16 He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.
20:17 そこで、イエスは彼らを見つめて言われた、「それでは、『家造りらの捨てた石が隅のかしら石になった』と書いてあるのは、どういうことですか。
20:17 And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?
20:18 すべてその石の上に落ちる者は打ち砕かれ、それがだれかの上に落ちかかるなら、その人はこなみじんにされるであろう」。
20:18 Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
20:19 このとき、律法学者たちや祭司長たちはイエスに手をかけようと思ったが、民衆を恐れた。いまの譬が自分たちに当てて語られたのだと、悟ったからである。
20:19 And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.
20:20 そこで、彼らは機会をうかがい、義人を装うまわし者どもを送って、イエスを総督の支配と権威とに引き渡すため、その言葉じりを捕らえさせようとした。
20:20 And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, (o. logos) that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor.
20:21 彼らは尋ねて言った、「先生、わたしたちは、あなたの語り教えられることが正しく、また、あなたは、分け隔てをなさらず、真理に基づいて神の道を教えておられることを、承知しています。
20:21 And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that you says and teach rightly, neither accept you the person of any, but teach the way of God truly:
20:22 ところで、カイザルに貢を納めてよいでしょうか、いけないでしょうか」。
20:22 Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar, or no?
20:23 イエスは彼らの悪巧みを見破って言われた、
20:23 But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt all of you me?
20:24 「デナリを見せなさい。それにあるのは、だれの肖像、だれの記号なのか」。「カイザルのです」と、彼らが答えた。
20:24 Show me a penny. Whose image and superscription has it? They answered and said, Caesar's.
20:25 するとイエスは彼らに言われた、「それなら、カイザルのものはカイザルに、神のものは神に返しなさい」。
20:25 And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's.
20:26 そこで彼らは、民衆の前でイエスの言葉じりを捕らえることができず、その答に驚嘆して、黙ってしまった。
20:26 And they could not take hold of his words (o. rhema) before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.
20:27 復活ということはないと言い張っていたサドカイ人のある者たちが、イエスに近寄ってきて質問した、
20:27 Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him,
20:28 「先生、モーセは、わたしたちのためにこう書いています、『もしある人の兄が妻をめとり、子がなくて死んだなら、弟はこの女をめとって、兄のために子をもうけなければならない』。
20:28 Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man's brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
20:29 ところで、ここに七人の兄弟がいました。長男は妻をめとりましたが、子がなくて死に、
20:29 There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children.
20:30 そして次男、三男と、次々に、その女をめとり、
20:30 And the second took her to wife, and he died childless.
20:31 七人とも同様に、子をもうけずに死にました。
20:31 And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died.
20:32 のちに、その女も死にました。
20:32 Last of all the woman died also.
20:33 さて復活の時には、この女は七人のうち、だれの妻になるのですか。七人とも彼女を妻にしたのですが」。
20:33 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.
20:34 イエスは彼らに言われた、「この世の子らは、めとったり、とついだりするが、
20:34 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:
20:35 かの世にはいって死人からの復活にあずかるにふさわしい者たちは、めとったり、とついだりすることはない。
20:35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:
20:36 彼らは天使に等しいものであり、また復活にあずかるゆえに、神の子でもあるので、もう死ぬことはあり得ないからである。
20:36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
20:37 死人がよみがえることは、モーセも柴の篇で、主を『アブラハムの神、イサクの神、ヤコブの神』と呼んで、これを示した。
20:37 Now that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the bush, when he calls the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
20:38 神は死んだ者の神ではなく、生きている者の神である。人はみな神に生きるものだからである」。
20:38 For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.
20:39 律法学者のうちのある人々が答えて言った、「先生、仰せのとおりです」。
20:39 Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, you have well said.
20:40 彼らはそれ以上何もあえて問いかけようとしなかった。
20:40 And after that they durst not ask him any question at all.
20:41 イエスは彼らに言われた、「どうして人々はキリストをダビデの子だと言うのか。
20:41 And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David's son?
20:42 ダビデ自身が詩編の中で言っている、『主はわが主に仰せになった、
20:42 And David himself says in the book of Psalms, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit you on my right hand,
20:43 あなたの敵をあのたの足台とする時までは、わたしの右に座していなさい』。
20:43 Till I make yours enemies your footstool.
20:44 このように、ダビデはキリストを主と呼んでいる。それなら、どうしてキリストはダビデの子であろうか」。
20:44 David therefore calls him Lord, how is he then his son?
20:45 民衆がみな聞いているとき、イエスは弟子たちに言われた、
20:45 Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples,
20:46 「律法学者に気をつけなさい。彼らは長い衣を着て歩くのを好み、広場での敬礼や会堂の上席や宴会の上座をよろこび、
20:46 Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;
20:47 やもめたちの家を食い倒し、見えのために長い祈りをする。彼らはもっときびしいさばきを受けるであろう」。
20:47 Which devour widows' houses, and for a show make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.
21:1 イエスは目をあげて、金持たちがさいせん箱に献金を投げ入れているのを見られ、
21:1 And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.
21:2 また、ある貧しいゆもめが、レプタ二つをいれるのを見て、
21:2 And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.
21:3 言われた、「よく聞きなさい。あの貧しいやもめは、だれよりもたくさん入れたのだ。
21:3 And he said, Truthfully I say unto you, that this poor widow has cast in more than they all:
21:4 これらの人たちはみな、ありあまる中から献金を投げ入れたが、あの婦人は、その乏しい中から、持っている生活費全部を入れたからである」。
21:4 For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her destitution has cast in all the living that she had.
21:5 ある人々が、見事な石と奉納物とで宮が飾られていることを話していたので、イエスは言われた、
21:5 And as some spoke of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,
21:6 「あなたがたはこれらのものをながめているか、その石一つでもくずされずに、他の石の上に残ることもなくなる日が、来るであろう」。
21:6 As for these things which all of you behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
21:7 そこで彼らはたずねた、「先生、では、いつそんなことが起こるのでしょうか。またそんなことが起こるような場合には、どんな前兆がありますか」。
21:7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?
21:8 イエスは言われた、「あなたがたは、惑わされないように気をつけなさい。多くの者がわたしの名を名のって現れ、自分がそれだとか、時が近づいたとか、家であろう言うであろう。彼らについて行くな。
21:8 And he said, Take heed that all of you be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draws near: go all of you not therefore after them.
21:9 戦争と騒乱とのうわさを聞くときにも、おじ恐れるな。こうしたことはまず起こらねばならないが、終わりはすぐにはこない」。
21:9 But when all of you shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.
21:10 それから彼らに言われた、「民は民に、国は国に敵対して立ち上がるであろう。
21:10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
21:11 また大地震があり、あちこちに疫病やききんが起こり、いろいろ恐ろしいことや天から物すごい前兆があるであろう。
21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
21:12 しかし、これらのあらゆる出来事のある前に、人々はあなたがたに手をかけて迫害をし、会堂や獄に引き渡し、わたしの名ゆえに王や総督の前にひっぱって行くであろう。
21:12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.
21:13 それは、あなたがたがあかしをする機会となるであろう。
21:13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
21:14 だからどう答弁しようかと、前もって考えておかないことに心を決めなさい。
21:14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what all of you shall answer:
21:15 あなたの反対者のだれもが抗弁も否定もできないような言葉と知恵とを、わたしが授けるから。
21:15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
21:16 しかし、あなたがたは両親、兄弟、友人にさえ裏切られるであろう。
21:16 And all of you shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.
21:17 また、あなたがたの中で殺されるものもあろう。また、わたしの名ゆえにすべての人に憎まれるであろう。
21:17 And all of you shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.
21:18 しかし、あなたがたの髪の毛一すじでも失われることはない。
21:18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish.
21:19 あなたがたは堪え忍ぶ事によって、自分の魂をかち取るであろう。
21:19 In your patience possess all of you your souls.
21:20 エルサレムが軍隊に包囲されるのを見たならば、そのときは、その滅亡が近づいたとさとりなさい。
21:20 And when all of you shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
21:21 そのとき、ユダヤにいる人々は山へ逃げよ。市中にいる者は、そこから出ていくがよい。
21:21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter therein.
21:22 それは、聖書にしるされたすべての事が実現する刑罰の日であるからだ。
21:22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
21:23 その日には、身重の女と乳飲み子をもつ女とは、不幸である。地上には大きな苦難があり、この民にはみ怒りが臨み、
21:23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
21:24 彼らはつるぎの刃に倒れ、また捕らえられて諸国へ引きゆかれるであろう。そしてエルサレムは、異邦人の時期が満ちるまで、彼らに踏みにじられているであろう。
21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
21:25 また日と月と星とに、しるしが現れるであろう。そして、地上では、諸国民が悩み、海と大波とのとどろきにおじ惑い、
21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
21:26 人々は世界に起ころうとする事を思い、恐怖と不安で気絶するであろう。もろもろの天体が揺り動かされるからである。
21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
21:27 そのとき、大いなる力と栄光とをもって、人の子が雲に乗って来るのを、人々は見るであろう。
21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
21:28 これらの事が起こりはじめたら、身を起し頭をもちあげなさい。あなたがたの救いが近づいているのだから」。
21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws nigh.
21:29 それから一つの譬を話された、「いちじくの木を、またすべての木をみなさい。
21:29 And he spoke to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
21:30 はや芽を出せば、あなたがたはそれを見て、夏がすでに近いと、自分で気づくのである。
21:30 When they now shoot forth, all of you see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
21:31 このようにあなたがたも、これらの事が事が起こるのを見たなら、神の国が近づいたのだとさとりなさい。
21:31 So likewise all of you, when all of you see these things come to pass, know all of you that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
21:32 よく聞いておきなさい。これらの事が、ことごとく起こるまでは、この時代は滅びることがない。
21:32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
21:33 天地は滅びるであろう。しかしわたしの言葉は決して滅びることがない。
21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words (o. logos) shall not pass away.
21:34 あなたがたが放縦や、泥酔や、世の煩いのために心が鈍っているうちに、思いがけないとき、その日がわなのようにあなたがたを捕らえることがないように、よく注意していなさい。
21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with worldly excess, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unexpectedly.
21:35 その日は全面に住む全ての人に臨むからである。
21:35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
21:36 これらの起ころうとしているすべての事からのがれて、人の子の前に立つことができるように、絶えず目をさまして祈っていなさい」。
21:36 Watch all of you therefore, and pray always, that all of you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
21:37 イエスは昼のあいだは宮で教え、夜は出て行ってオリブという山で夜をすごしておられた、
21:37 And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.
21:38 民衆はみな、み教えを聞こうとして、いつも朝早く宮に行き、イエスのもとに集まった。
21:38 And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, in order to hear him.
22:1 さて、過越といわれている徐酵祭が近づいた。
22:1 Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.
22:2 祭司長たちや律法学者たちは、どうかしてイエスを殺そうと計っていた。民衆を恐れていたからである。
22:2 And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.
22:3 そのとき、十二弟子のひとりで、イスカリオテのユダと呼ばれていたユダに、サタンがはいった。
22:3 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.
22:4 すなわち、彼は祭司長たちや宮守がしらたちのところへ行って、どうしてイエスを彼らに渡そうかと、その方法について協議した。
22:4 And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.
22:5 彼らは喜んで、ユダに金を与える取決めをした。
22:5 And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.
22:6 ユダはそれを承諾した。そして、群衆のいないときにイエスを引き渡そうと、機会をねらっていた。
22:6 And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
22:7 さて、過越の小羊をほふるべき徐酵祭の日がきたので、
22:7 Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.
22:8 イエスはペテロとヨハネとを使いに出して言われた、「行って、過越の食事ができるように準備をしなさい」。
22:8 And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.
22:9 彼らは言った、「どこに準備をしたらよいのですか」。
22:9 And they said unto him, Where will you that we prepare?
22:10 イエスは言われた、「市内にはいったら、水がめを持っている男に出会うであろう。その人がはいる家までついて行って、
22:10 And he said unto them, Behold, when all of you are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he enters in.
22:11 その家の主人に言いなさい、『弟子たちと一緒に過越の食事をする座敷はどこか、と先生が言っておられます』。
22:11 And all of you shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master says unto you, Where is the guest room, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
22:12 すると、その主人は席の整えられた二階の広間を見せてくれるから、そこに用意をしなさい」。
22:12 And he shall show you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
22:13 弟子たちは出て行ってみると、イエスが言われたとおりであったので、過越の食事の用意をした。
22:13 And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
22:14 時間になったので、イエスは食卓につかれ、使徒たちも共に席についた。
22:14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
22:15 イエスは彼らに言われた、「わたしは苦しみを受ける前に、あなたがたとこの過越の食事をしようと、切に望んでいた。
22:15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
22:16 あなたがたに言って置くが、神の国で過越が成就する時までは、わたしは二度と、この過越の食事をすることはない」。
22:16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
22:17 そして杯を取り、感謝して言われた、「これを取って、互いに分けて飲め、
22:17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
22:18 あなたがたに言っておくが、今からのち神の国が来るまでは、わたしはぶどうの実から造ったものを、いっさい飲まない」。
22:18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
22:19 またパンを取り、感謝してこれをさき、弟子たちに与えて言われた、「これは、あなたがたのために与えるわたしのからだである。わたしを記念するため、このように行いなさい」。
22:19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
22:20 食事ののち、杯も同じ様にして言われた、「この杯は、あなたがたのために流すわたしの血で立てられる新しい契約である。
22:20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
22:21 しかし、そこに、わたしを裏切る者が、わたしと一緒に食卓に手を置いている。
22:21 But, behold, the hand of him that betrays me is with me on the table.
22:22 人の子は定められたとおりに、去って行く。しかし人の子を裏切るその人は、わざわいである」。
22:22 And truly the Son of man goes, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!
22:23 弟子たちは、自分たちのうちのだれが、そんな事をしようとしているのだろうと、互いに論じはじめた。
22:23 And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
22:24 それから、自分たちの中でだれがいちばん偉いだろうかと言って、争論が彼らの間に、起こった。
22:24 And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.
22:25 そこでイエスが言われた、「異邦の王たちはその民の上に君臨し、また、権力をふるっている者たちは恩人と呼ばれる。
22:25 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.
22:26 しかし、あなたがた、そうであってはならない。かえって、あなたがたの中でいちばん偉い人はいちばん若い者のように、指導する人は仕える者のようになるべきである。
22:26 But all of you shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that does serve.
22:27 食卓につく人と給仕する者と、どちらが偉いのか。食卓につく人の方ではないか。しかし、わたしはあなたがたの中で、給仕する者のようにしている。
22:27 For whether is greater, he that sits at food, or he that serves? is not he that sits at food? but I am among you as he that serves.
22:28 あなたがたは、わたしの試練のあいだ、わたしと一緒に最後まで忍んでくれた人たちである。
22:28 All of you are they which have continued with me in my temptations.
22:29 それで、わたしの父が国の支配をわたしにゆだねてくださったように、わたしもそれをあなたがたにゆだね、
22:29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father has appointed unto me;
22:30 わたしの国で食卓について飲み食いをさせ、また位に座してイスラエルの十二の部族をさばかせるであろう。
22:30 That all of you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
22:31 シモン、シモン、見よ、サタンはあなたがたを麦のようにふるいにかけることを願って許された。
22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
22:32 しかし、わたしはあなたの信仰がなくならないように、あなたのために祈った。それて、あなたが立ち直ったときには、兄弟たちを力づけてやりなさい」。
22:32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith fail not: and when you are converted, strengthen your brethren.
22:33 シモンが言った、「主よ、わたしは獄にでも、また死に至るまでも、あなたとご一緒に行く覚悟です」。
22:33 And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with you, both into prison, and to death.
22:34 するとイエスが言われた、「ペテロよ、あなたに言っておく。きょう、鶏が鳴くまでに、あなたは三度わたしを知らないと言うだろう」。
22:34 And he said, I tell you, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that you shall three times deny that you know me.
22:35 そして彼らに言われた、「わたしが財布も袋もくつも持たせずにあなたがたをつかわしたとき。何かこまったことがあったか」。彼らは、「いいえ、何もありませんでした」と答えた。
22:35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and pouch, and shoes, lacked all of you any thing? And they said, Nothing.
22:36 そこで言われた、「しかし今は、財布のあるものはそれを持って行け。袋も同様に持って行け。また、つるぎのない者は、自分の上着を売って、それを買うがよい。
22:36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that has a purse, let him take it, and likewise his pouch: and he that has no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
22:37 あなたがたに言うが、『彼は罪人のひとりに数えられた』としるしてあることは、わたしに係わることは成就している」。
22:37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.
22:38 弟子たちが言った、「主よ、ごらんなさい、ここにつるぎが二振りございます」。イエスは言われた、「それでよい」。
22:38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.
22:39 イエスは出て、いつものようにオリブ山に行かれると、弟子たちも従って行った。
22:39 And he came out, and went, as he was known, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.
22:40 いつもの場所に着いてから、彼らに言われた、「誘惑に陥らないように祈りなさい」。
22:40 And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that all of you enter not into temptation.
22:41 そしてご自分は、石を投げてとどくほど離れたところへ退き、ひさせまづいて、祈って言われた、
22:41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
22:42 「父よ、みこころならば、どうぞ、この杯をわたしから取りのけてください。しかし、わたしの思いではなく、みこころが成るようにしてください」。
22:42 Saying, Father, if you be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but yours, be done.
22:43 そのとき、御使が天からあらわれてイエスを力づけた。
22:43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
22:44 イエスは苦しみもだえて、ますます切に祈られた。そして、その汗が血のしたたりのように地に落ちた。
22:44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
22:45 祈りをおえて立ちあがり、弟子たちのところへ行かれると、彼らは悲しみのはて寝入っているのをごらんになって、
22:45 And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,
22:46 言われた、「なぜ眠っているのか。誘惑に陥らないように、起きて祈っていなさい」。
22:46 And said unto them, Why sleep all of you? rise and pray, lest all of you enter into temptation.
22:47 イエスがまだそう言っておられるうちに、そこに群衆が現れ、十二弟子のひちとでユダという者が先頭に立って、イエスに接吻しようとして近づいてきた。
22:47 And while he yet spoke, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
22:48 そこでイエスは言われた、「ユダ、あなたは接吻をもって人の子を裏切るのか」。
22:48 But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betray you the Son of man with a kiss?
22:49 イエスのそばにいた人たちは、事のなりゆきを見て、「主よ、つるぎで切りつけてやりましょうか」と言って、
22:49 When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we strike with the sword?
22:50 そのうちのひとりが、祭司長の僕に切りつけ、その右の耳を切り落とした。
22:50 And one of them stroke the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
22:51 イエスはこれに対して言われた、「それだけでやめなさい」。そして、その僕の耳に手を触れて、おいやしになった。
22:51 And Jesus answered and said, Suffer all of you thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
22:52 それから、自分にむかってくる祭司長、宮守がしら、長老たちに対して言われた、「あなたがたは、強盗にむかうように剣と棒を持って出てきたのか。
22:52 Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be all of you come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?
22:53 毎日あなたがたと宮にいた時には、わたしに手をかけなかった。だが、今あなたがたの時には、また、やみの支配の時である」。
22:53 When I was daily with you in the temple, all of you stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
22:54 それから人々はイエスを捕え、ひっぱって大祭司の邸宅へつれて行った。ペテロは遠くからついて行った。
22:54 Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed far off.
22:55 人々は中庭のまん中に火をたいて、一緒にすわっていたので、ペテロもその中にすわった。
22:55 And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them.
22:56 すると、ある女中が、彼が火のそばにすわっているのを見、彼を見つめて、「この人もイエスと一緒にいました」と言った。
22:56 But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.
22:57 ペテロはそれを打ち消して、「わたしはその人を知らない」と言った。
22:57 And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.
22:58 しばらくして、ほかの人がペテロを見て行った、「あなたもあの仲間のひとりだ」。するとペテロは言った、「いや、それはちがう」。
22:58 And after a little while another saw him, and said, You are also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.
22:59 約一時間たってから、またほかの者が言い張った、「たしかにこの人もイエスと一緒だった。この人もガリラヤ人なのだから」。
22:59 And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Truthfully this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.
22:60 ペテロは言った、「あなたの言っていることは、わたしにわからない」。すると、彼がまだ言い終わらぬうちに、たちまち、鶏が鳴いた。
22:60 And Peter said, Man, I know not what you says. And immediately, while he yet spoke, the cock crew.
22:61 主は振りむいてペテロを見つめられた。そのときペテロは、「きょう、鶏が鳴く前に、三度わたしを知らないと言うであろう」と言われた主のお言葉を思い出した。
22:61 And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word (o. logos) of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, you shall deny me three times.
22:62 そして外へ出て、激しく泣いた。
22:62 And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.
22:63 イエスを監視していた人たちは、イエスを嘲弄し、打ちたたき、
22:63 And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and stroke him.
22:64 目かくしをして、「言いあててみよ、打ったのは、だれか」ときいたりした。
22:64 And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that stroke you?
22:65 そのほか、いろいろな事でイエスを愚弄した。
22:65 And many other things blasphemously spoke they against him.
22:66 夜が明けたとき、人民の長老、祭司長たち、律法学者たちが集まり、イエスを議会に引き出して言った、
22:66 And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying,
22:67 「あなたがキリストなら、そう言ってもらいたい」。イエスは言われた、「わたしが言っても、あなたがたは信じないだろう。
22:67 Are you the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, all of you will not believe:
22:68 また、わたしがたずねても、答えないだろう。
22:68 And if I also ask you, all of you will not answer me, nor let me go.
22:69 しかし、人の子は今からのち、全能の神の右に座するであろう」。
22:69 Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.
22:70 彼らは言った、「では、あなたは神の子なのか」。イエスは言われた、「あなたがたの言うとおりである」。
22:70 Then said they all, Are you then the Son of God? And he said unto them, All of you say that I am.
22:71 すると彼らは言った、「これ以上、なんの証拠がいるか。われわれは直接彼の口から聞いたのだから」。
22:71 And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.
23:1 群衆はみな立ちあがって、イエスをピラトのところへ連れて行った。
23:1 And the whole multitude of them arose, and led him unto Pilate.
23:2 そして訴え出て言った、「わたしたちは、この人が、国民を惑わし、貢ぎをカイザルに納めることを禁じ、また自分こそ王なるキリストだと、となえているところを目撃しました」。
23:2 And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ a King.
23:3 ピラトはイエスに尋ねた、「あなたがユダヤ人の王であるか」。イエスは「そのとおりである」とお答になった。
23:3 And Pilate asked him, saying, Are you the King of the Jews? And he answered him and said, You says it.
23:4 そこでピラトは祭司長たちと群衆にむかって言った、「わたしはこの人になんの罪もみとめない」。
23:4 Then said Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man.
23:5 ところが彼らは、ますます言いつのってやまなかった、「彼は、ガリラヤからはじめてこの所まで、ユダヤ全国にわたって教え、民衆を煽動しているのです」。
23:5 And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Jewry, beginning from Galilee to this place.
23:6 ピラトはこれを聞いて、この人はガリラヤ人かと尋ね、
23:6 When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilaean.
23:7 そしてヘロデの支配下のものであることを確かめたので、ちょうどこのころ、ヘロデがエルサレムにいたのをさいわい、そちらへイエスを送りとどけた。
23:7 And as soon as he knew that he belonged unto Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem at that time.
23:8 ヘロデはイエスを見て非常に喜んだ。それは、かねてイエスのことを聞いていたので、会って見たいと長いあいだ思っていたし、またイエスが何か奇跡を行うのを見たいと望んでいたからである。
23:8 And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him.
23:9 それで、いろいろと質問を試みたが、イエスは何もお答にならなかった。
23:9 Then he questioned with him in many words; (o. logos) but he answered him nothing.
23:10 祭司長たちと、律法学者たちとは立って、激しい語調でイエスを訴えた。
23:10 And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused him.
23:11 またヘロデはその兵卒どもと一緒になって、イエスを侮辱したり嘲弄したりしたあげく、はなやかな着物を着せてピラトへ送りかえした。
23:11 And Herod with his men of war set him at nothing, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate.
23:12 ヘロデとピラトとは、以前は互いに敵視していたが、この日に親しい仲になった。
23:12 And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves.
23:13 ピラトは祭司長たちと役人たちと民衆とを、呼び集めて言った、
23:13 And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,
23:14 「おまえたとは、この人を民衆を惑わすものとしてわたしのところに連れてきたので、おまえたちの面前でしらべたが、訴え出ているような罪は、この人に少しもみとめられなかった。
23:14 Said unto them, All of you have brought this man unto me, as one that perverts the people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man concerning those things whereof all of you accuse him:
23:15 ヘロデもまたみとめなかった。現に彼はイエスをわれわれに送りかえしてきた。この人はなんら死に当たるようなことはしていないのである。
23:15 No, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, lo, nothing worthy of death is done unto him.
23:16 だから、彼をむち打ってから、ゆるしてやることにしよう」。〔
23:16 I will therefore chastise him, and release him.
23:17 祭ごとにピラトがひとりの囚人をゆるしてやることになっていた。〕
23:17 (For of necessity he must release one unto them at the feast.)
23:18 ところが、彼らはいっせいに叫んで言った、「その人を殺せ。バラバをゆるしてくれ」。
23:18 And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas:
23:19 このバラバは、都で起こった暴動と殺人とのかどで、獄に投ぜられていた者である。
23:19 (Who for a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison.)
23:20 ピラトはイエスをゆるしてやりたいと思って、もう一度かれらに呼びかけた。
23:20 Pilate therefore, willing to release Jesus, spoke again to them.
23:21 しかし彼らは、わめきたてて「十字架につけよ、彼を十字架につけよ」と言いつづけた。
23:21 But they cried, saying, Crucify him, crucify him.
23:22 ピラトは三度目に彼らにむかって言った、「では、この人は、いったい、どんな悪事をしたのか。彼には死に当る罪は全くみとめられなかった。だから、むち打ってから彼をゆるしてやることにしよう」。
23:22 And he said unto them the third time, Why, what evil has he done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will therefore chastise him, and let him go.
23:23 ところが、彼らは大声をあげて詰め寄り、イエスを十字架につけるように要求した。そして、その声が勝った。
23:23 And they were instant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed.
23:24 ピラトはついに彼らの願いどおりにすることに決定した。
23:24 And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required.
23:25 そして、暴動と殺人とのかどで獄に投ぜられた者の方を、彼らの要求に応じてゆるしてやり、イエスの方は彼らに引き渡して、その意のままにまかせた。
23:25 And he released unto them him that for sedition and murder was cast into prison, whom they had desired; but he delivered Jesus to their will.
23:26 彼らがイエスをひいていく途中、シモンというクレネ人が郊外から出てきたのを捕えて十字架を負わせ、それをになってイエスのあとから行かせた。
23:26 And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus.
23:27 大ぜいの民衆と、悲しみ嘆いてやまない女たちの群れとが、イエスに従って行った。
23:27 And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him.
23:28 イエスは女たちの方に振りむいて言われた、「エルサレムの娘たちよ、わたしのために泣くな。むしろ、あなたがた自身のため、また自分の子供たちのために泣くがよい。
23:28 But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.
23:29 『不妊の女と子を産まなかった胎と、ふくませなかった乳房とは、さいわいだ』と言う日が、いまに来る。
23:29 For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the breast which never gave suck.
23:30 そのとき、人々は山にむかって、われわれにおおいかぶされと言い出すであろう。
23:30 Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.
23:31 もし、生木でさえそうされるなら、枯木はどうされることであろう」。
23:31 For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?
23:32 さて、イエスと共に刑を受けるために、ほかにふたりの犯罪人も引かれていった。
23:32 And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death.
23:33 されこうべと呼ばれているところに着くと、人々はそこでイエスを十字架につけ、犯罪人たちも、ひとりは右に、ひとりは左に、十字架につけた。
23:33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
23:34 そのとき、イエスは言われた、「父よ、彼らをおゆるしください。彼らは何をしているのか、わからずにいるのです。人々はイエスの着物をくじ引きで分け会った。
23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
23:35 民衆は立って見ていた。役人たちもあざ笑って言った、「彼は他人を救った。もし彼が神のキリスト、選ばれた者であるなら、自分自身を救いなさい」。
23:35 And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.
23:36 兵卒どももイエスをののしり、近寄ってきて酢いぶどう酒をさし出して言った、
23:36 And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,
23:37 「あなたがユダヤ人の王なら、自分を救いなさい」。
23:37 And saying, If you be the king of the Jews, save yourself.
23:38 イエスの上には、「ユダヤ人の王」と書いた札がかけてあった。
23:38 And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
23:39 十字架にかけられた犯罪人のひとりが、「あなたはキリストではないか。それなら、自分を救い、またわれわれも救ってみよ」と、イエスに悪口を言いつづけた。
23:39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If you be Christ, save yourself and us.
23:40 もうひとりは、それをたしなめて言った、「おまえは同じ刑を受けていながら、神を恐れないのか。
23:40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Do not you fear God, seeing you are in the same condemnation?
23:41 お互は自分のやった事のむくいを受けているのだから、こうなったのは当然だ。しかし、このかたは何も悪いことをしたのではない」。
23:41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man has done nothing amiss.
23:42 そして言った、「イエスよ、あなたが御国の権威をもっておいでになる時には、わたしを思い出してください」。
23:42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom.
23:43 イエスは言われた、「よく言っておくが、あなたはきょう、わたしと一緒にパラダイスにいるであろう」。
23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto you, To day shall you be with me in paradise.
23:44 時はもう昼の十二時ごろであったが、太陽は光を失い、全地は暗くなって、三時に及んだ。
23:44 And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
23:45 そして聖所の幕が真ん中から裂けた。
23:45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
23:46 そのとき、イエスは声高く叫んで言われた、「父よ、わたしの霊をみ手にゆだねます」。こう言ってついに息を引きとられた。
23:46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into your hands I commend my spirit: (o. pneuma) and having said thus, he gave up the spirit.
23:47 百卒長はこの有様を見て、神をあがめ、「ほんとうに、この人は正しい人であった」と言った。
23:47 Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.
23:48 この光景を見に集まってきた群衆も、これらの出来事を見て、みな胸を打ちながら帰って行った。
23:48 And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, stroke their breasts, and returned.
23:49 すべてイエスを知っていた者や、ガリラヤから従ってきた女たちも、遠い所に立って、これらのことを見ていた。
23:49 And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood far off, beholding these things.
23:50 ここに、ヨセフという議員がいたが、善良で正しい人であった。
23:50 And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just:
23:51 この人はユダヤの町アリマタヤの出身で、神の国を待ち望んでいた。彼は議会の議決や行動には賛成していなかった。
23:51 (The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;) he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God.
23:52 この人がピラトのところへ行って、イエスのからだの引取り方を願い出て、
23:52 This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.
23:53 それを取りおろして亜麻布に包み、まだだれも葬ったことのない、岩を掘って造った墓に納めた。
23:53 And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a tomb that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.
23:54 この日は準備の日であって、安息日が始まりかけていた。
23:54 And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.
23:55 イエスと一緒にガリラヤからきた女たちは、あとについてきて、その墓を見、また、イエスのからだか、納められる様子を見とどけた。
23:55 And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the tomb, and how his body was laid.
23:56 そして帰って、香料と香油とを用意した。それからおきてに従って安息日を休んだ。
23:56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.
24:1 週の初めの日、夜明け前に、女たちは用意しておいた香料を携えて、墓に行った。
24:1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
24:2 ところが、石が墓からころがしてあるので、
24:2 And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb.
24:3 中にはいってみると、主イエスのからだが見当たらなかった。
24:3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
24:4 そのため途方にくれていると、見よ、輝いた衣をきたふたりの者が、彼らに現れた。
24:4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
24:5 女たちは驚き恐れて、顔を地に伏せていると、このふたりの者が言った、「あなたがたは、なぜ生きた方を死人の中にたずねているのか。
24:5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek all of you the living among the dead?
24:6 そのかたは、ここにはおられない。よみがえられたのだ。まだガリラヤにえられたとき、あなたがたにお話になったことを思い出しなさい。
24:6 He is not here, but has risen: remember how he spoke unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
24:7 すなわち、人の子は必ず罪人らの手に渡され、十字架につけられ、そして三日目によみがえる、と仰せられたではないか」。
24:7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
24:8 そこで女たちはその言葉を思い出し、
24:8 And they remembered his words, (o. rhema)
24:9 墓から帰って、これらいっさいのことを、十一弟子や、その他みんなの人に報告した。
24:9 And returned from the tomb, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.
24:10 この女たちちいうのは、マグダラのマリヤ、ヨハンナ、およびユコブの母マリヤであった。彼女たちと一緒にいたほかの女たちも、このことを使徒たちに話した。
24:10 It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.
24:11 ところが使徒たちには、それが愚かな話のように思われて、それを信じなかった。〔
24:11 And their words (o. rhema) seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.
24:12 ペテロは立って墓へ走って行き、かがんで中を見ると、亜麻布だけがそこにあったので、事の次第を不思議に思いながら帰って行った。〕
24:12 Then arose Peter, and ran unto the tomb; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.
24:13 この日、ふたりの弟子が、エルサレムから七マイルばかり離れたエマオという村へ行きながら、
24:13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.
24:14 このいっさいの出来事について互いに語り合っていた。
24:14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
24:15 語り合い論じ合っていると、イエスご自身が近づいてきて、彼らと一緒に歩いていかれた。
24:15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
24:16 しかし、彼らの目がさえぎられて、イエスを認めることができなかった。
24:16 But their eyes were held that they should not know him.
24:17 イエスは彼らに言われた、「歩きながら互いに語り合っているその話しはなんのことなのか」。彼らは悲しそうな顔をして立ちどまった。
24:17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications (o. logos) are these that all of you have one to another, as all of you walk, and are sad?
24:18 そのひとりのクレオパという者が、答えて言った、「あなたはエルサレムに泊まっていながら、あなただけが、この都でこのごろ起こったことをご存じないのですか」。
24:18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Are you only a stranger in Jerusalem, and have not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
24:19 「それは、どんなことか」と言われると、かれらは言った、「ナザレのイエスのことです。あのかたは、神とすべての民衆との前で、わざにも言葉にも力ある預言者でしたが、
24:19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word (o. logos) before God and all the people:
24:20 祭司長たちや役人たちが、死刑に処するために引き渡し、十字架につけたのです。
24:20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.
24:21 わたしたちは、イスラエルを救うのはこの人であろうと、望みをかけていました。しかもその上に、この事が起こってから、きょうが三日目なのです。
24:21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
24:22 ところが、わたしたちの仲間である数人の女が、わたしたちを驚かせました。というのは、彼らが朝早く墓に行きますと、
24:22 Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the tomb;
24:23 イエスのからだが見当らないので、帰ってきましたが、そのとき御使が現れて、『イエスは生きておられる』と告げたと申すのです。
24:23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.
24:24 それで、わたしたちの仲間が数人、墓に行って見ますと、果たして女たちが言ったとおりで、イエスは見当たりませんでした」。
24:24 And certain of them which were with us went to the tomb, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.
24:25 そこでイエスが言われた、「ああ、愚かで心のにぶいため、預言者たちが説いたすべての事を信じられない者たちよ。
24:25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
24:26 キリストは必ず、これらの苦難を受けて、その栄光に入るはずではなかったのか」。
24:26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
24:27 こう言って、モーセやすべての預言者からはじめて、聖書全体にわたり、ご自身についてしるしてある事どもを、説きあかされた。
24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
24:28 それから、彼らは行こうとしていた村に近づいたが、イエスがなお先へ進みいかれる様子であった。
24:28 And they drew nigh unto the village, where they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
24:29 そこで、しいて引き止めて言った、゜わたしたちと一緒にお泊まり下さい。もう夕暮れになっており、日もはや傾いていています」。イエスは彼らと共に泊まるために、家にはいられた。
24:29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
24:30 一緒に食卓につかれたとき、パンを取り、祝福してさき、彼らに渡しておられるうちに、
24:30 And it came to pass, as he sat at food with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
24:31 彼らの目が開けて、それがイエスであることがわかった。すると、み姿が見えなくなった。
24:31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
24:32 彼らは互いに言った、゜道々をお話になったとき、また聖書を説き明かしてくださったとき、お互いの心が内に燃えたではないか」。
24:32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
24:33 そして、すぐに立ってエルサレムに帰って見ると、十一弟子とその仲間が集まっていて、
24:33 And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,
24:34 「主は、ほんとうによみがえって、シモンに現れなさった」と言っていた。
24:34 Saying, The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon.
24:35 そこでふたりの者は、途中であったことや、パンをおさきになる様子でイエスだとわかったことなどを話した。
24:35 And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.
24:36 こう話していると、イエスが彼らの中にお立ちになった。〔そして「やすかれ」と言われた。〕
24:36 And as they thus spoke, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and says unto them, Peace be unto you.
24:37 彼らは恐れ驚いて、霊を見ているのだと思った。
24:37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. (o. pneuma)
24:38 そこでイエスが言われた、「なぜおじ惑っているのか。どうして心に疑いを起こすのか。
24:38 And he said unto them, Why are all of you troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
24:39 わたしの手や足を見なさい。霊には肉や骨はないが、あなたがたが見るとおり、わたしにはあるのだ」。〔
24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit (o. pneuma) has not flesh and bones, as all of you see me have.
24:40 こう言って、手と足とをお見せになった。〕
24:40 And when he had thus spoken, he showed them his hands and his feet.
24:41 彼らは喜びのあまり、まだ信じられないで不思議に思っていると、イエスが「ここに何か食物があるか」と言われた。
24:41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have all of you here any food?
24:42 彼らが焼いた魚の一きれをさしあげると。
24:42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
24:43 イエスはそれを取って、みんなの前で食べられた。
24:43 And he took it, and did eat before them.
24:44 それから彼らに対して言われた、「わたしが以前あなたがたと一緒にいた時分に話して聞かせた言葉は、こうであった。すなわち、モーセの律法と預言者と詩編とに、わたしについて書いてあることは、必ずことごとく成就する」。
24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words (o. logos) which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
24:45 そこでイエスは、聖書を悟らせるために彼らの心を開いて
24:45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
24:46 言われた、「こう、しるしてある。キリストは苦しみを受けて、三日目に死人の中からよみがえる。
24:46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it was essential for Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
24:47 そして、その名によって罪のゆるしを得させる悔い改めが、エルサレムからはじまって、もろもろの国民に宣べ伝えられる。
24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
24:48 あなたがたは、これらの事の証人である。
24:48 And all of you are witnesses of these things.
24:49 見よ、わたしの父が約束されたものを、あなたがたに贈る。だから、上から力を授けられるまでは、あなたがたは都にとどまっていなさい」。
24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry all of you in the city of Jerusalem, until all of you be imbued with power from on high.
24:50 それから、イエスは彼らをベタニヤの近くまで連れて行き、手をあげて彼らを祝福された。
24:50 And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
24:51 「祝福しておられるうちに、彼らを離れて、〔天にあげられた。〕
24:51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
24:52 彼らは〔イエスを拝し、〕非常な喜びをもってエルサレムに帰り、
24:52 And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:
24:53 絶えず宮にいて、神をほめたたえた。
24:53 And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
