9:1 それからイエスは十二弟子を呼び集めて、彼らにすべての悪霊を制し、病気をいやす力と権威とをお授けになった。
9:1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
9:2 また神の国を宣べ伝え、かつ病気をなおすためにつかわして
9:2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
9:3 言われた、「旅のために何も携えるな。つえも袋もパンも銭も持たず、また下着も二枚は持つな。
9:3 And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor pouch, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.
9:4 また、どこかの家にはいったら、そこに留まっておれ。そしてそこから出かけることにしなさい。
9:4 And whatsoever house all of you enter into, there abide, and thence depart.
9:5 だれもあなたがたを迎えるものがいなかったら、その町を出て行くとき、彼らに対する抗議のしるしに、足からちりを払い落としなさい」。
9:5 And whosoever will not receive you, when all of you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.
9:6 弟子たちは出て行って、村々を巡り歩き、いたる所で福音を宣べ伝え、また病気をいやした。
9:6 And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.
9:7 さて、領主ヘロデはいろいろな出来事を耳にして、あわて惑っていた。それは、ある人たちは、ヨハネが死人の中からよみがえったと言い、
9:7 Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him: and he was perplexed, because that it was said of some, that John was risen from the dead;
9:8 またある人たちは、エリヤが現れたと言い、またほかの人たちは、昔の預言者のひとりが復活したのだと言っていたからである。
9:8 And of some, that Elijah had appeared; and of others, that one of the old prophets was risen again.
9:9 そこでヘロデが言った、「ヨハネはわたしがすでに首を切ったのだか、こうしてうわさされているこの人は、いったい、だれなのだろう」。そしてイエスに会ってみよう思っていた。
9:9 And Herod said, John have I beheaded: but who is this, of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.
9:10 使徒たちは帰ってきて、自分たちのしたことをすべてイエスにはなした。それからイエスは彼らを連れて、ベツサイダという町へひそかに退かれた。
9:10 And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.
9:11 ところが群衆がそれと知って、ついてきたので、これを迎えて神の国のことを語り聞かせ、また治療を要する人たちをいやされた。
9:11 And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spoke unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.
9:12 それから日が傾きかけたので、十二弟子がイエスのもとにきて言った、「群衆を解散して、まわりの村々や部落へ行って宿を取り、食物を手にいれるようにさせてください。わたしたちはこにな寂しい所にきているのですから」。
9:12 And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place.
9:13 しかしイエスは言われた、「あなたがたの手で食物をやりなさい」。彼らは言った、「わたしたちにはパン五つと魚二ひきしかありません、この大ぜいの人のために食物を買いに行くかしなければ」。
9:13 But he said unto them, Give all of you them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy food for all this people.
9:14 というのは、男が五千人ばかりもいたからである。しかしイエスは弟子たちに言われた、「人々をおおよそ五十人ずつの組にして、すわらせなさい」。
9:14 For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company.
9:15 彼らはそのとおりにして、みんなをすわらせた。
9:15 And they did so, and made them all sit down.
9:16 イエスは五つのパンと二ひきの魚とを手に取り、天を仰いでそれを祝福してさき、弟子たちにわたして群衆に配らせた。
9:16 Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.
9:17 みんなの者は食べて満腹した。そして、その余りくずを集めたら、十二かごあった。
9:17 And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.
9:18 イエスはひとりで祈っておられたとき、弟子たちが近くにいたので、彼らに尋ねて言われた、「群衆はわたしをだれだと言っているのか」。
9:18 And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?
9:19 彼らは答えて言った、「バプテスマのヨハネだと、言っています。しかしほかの人たちは、エリヤだと言い、また昔の預言者のひとりが復活したのだとち、言っている者もあります」。
9:19 They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elijah; and others say, that one of the old prophets has risen again.
9:20 彼らに言われた、「それでは、あなたがたはわたしをだれと言うのか」。ペテロが答えて言った、「神のキリストです」。
9:20 He said unto them, But whom say all of you that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.
9:21 イエスは彼らを戒め、この事をだれにも言うなと命じ、そして言われた、
9:21 And he strictly charged them, and commanded them to tell no man that thing;
9:22 「人の子は必ず多くの苦しみを受け、長老、祭司長、律法学者たちに捨てられ、また殺され、そして三日目によみがえる」。
9:22 Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.
9:23 それから、みんなの者に、言われた、「だれでもわたしについてきたいと思うなら、自分を捨て、日々自分の十字架を負うて、わたしに従ってきなさい。
9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
9:24 自分の命を救おうと思う者はそれを失い、わたしのために自分の命を失う者は、それを救うであろう。
9:24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
9:25 人が全世界をもうけても、自分自身を失いまたは損したら、なんの得になろうか。
9:25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?
9:26 わたしとわたしの言葉とを恥じる者に対しては、人の子もまた、自分の栄光と、父と聖なる御使との栄光のうちに現れて来るとき、その者を恥じるであろう。
9:26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, (o. logos) of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.
9:27 よく聞いておくがよい、神の国を見るまでは、死を味わわない者が、ここに立っている者の中にいる」。
9:27 But I tell you truthfully, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.
9:28 これらのことを話された後、八日ほどたってから、イエスはペテロ、ヨハネ、ヤコブを連れて、祈るために山に登られた。
9:28 And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, (o. logos) he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.
9:29 祈っておられる間に、み顔の様が変り、み衣がまばゆいほどに白く輝いた。
9:29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and flashing.
9:30 すると見よ、二人の人がイエスと語り合っていた。それはモーセとエリヤであったが、
9:30 And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elijah:
9:31 栄光の中に現れて、イエスがエルサレムで遂げようとする最後のことについてはなしていたのである。
9:31 Who appeared in glory, and spoke of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.
9:32 ペテロとその仲間の者たちとは熟睡していたが、目をさますと、イエスの栄光の姿と、共に立っているふたりの人とを見た。
9:32 But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.
9:33 このふたりがイエスを離れ去ろうとしたとき、ペテロは自分が何を言っているかわからないで、イエスに言った、「先生、わたしたちがここにいるのは、すばらしいことです。それで、わたしたちは小屋を三つ建てましょう。一つはあなたのために、一つはモーセのために、一つはエリヤのために」。
9:33 And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah: not knowing what he said.
9:34 彼がこう言っている間に雲がわき起こって彼らをおおいはじめた。そしてその雲に囲まれたとき、彼らは恐れた。
9:34 While he thus spoke, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.
9:35 すると雲の中から声があった、「これはわたしの子、わたしの選んだ者である。これを聞け」。
9:35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
9:36 そして声が止んだとき、イエスがひとりだけになっておられた。弟子たちは沈黙を守って、自分たちが見たことについては、そのころだれにも話さなかった。
9:36 And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.
9:37 翌日、一同が山を降りて来ると、大ぜいの群衆がイエスを出迎えた。
9:37 And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him.
9:38 すると突然、ある人が群衆の中から大声をあげて言った、「先生、お願いです。わたしのむすこを見てやってください。この子はわたしのひとりむすこですが。
9:38 And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I plead to you, look upon my son: for he is mine only child.
9:39 霊が取り付きますと、彼は急に叫び出すのです。それから、霊は彼をひきつれさせて、あわを吹かせ、彼を弱り果てさせて、なかなか出て行かないのです。
9:39 And, lo, a spirit (o. pneuma) takes him, and he suddenly cries out; and it tears him that he foams again, and bruising him hardly departs from him.
9:40 それで、お弟子たちに、この霊を追い出してくださるように願いましたが、できませんでした」。
9:40 And I besought your disciples to cast him out; and they could not.
9:41 イエスは答えて言われた、「ああ、なんという不信仰な、曲った時代であろう。いつまで、わたしはあなたがたと一緒におられようか。またあなたがたに我慢できようか。あなたの子をここに連れてきなさい」。
9:41 And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring your son here.
9:42 ところが、その子がイエスのところに来る時にも、悪霊が彼を引き倒して、引きつけさせた。イエスはこの汚れた霊をしかりつけ、その子供をいやして、父親にお渡しになった。
9:42 And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, (o. pneuma) and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.
9:43 人人はみな、神の偉大な力に非常に驚いた。みんなの者がイエスのしておられた数々の事を不思議に思っていると、弟子たちに言われた、
9:43 And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples,
9:44 「あなたがたはこの言葉を耳におさめて置きなさい。人の子は人々の手に渡されようとしている」。
9:44 Let these sayings (o. logos) sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.
9:45 しかし、彼らはなんのことかわからなかった。それが彼らに隠されていて、悟ることができなかったのである。また彼らはそのことについて尋ねるのを恐れていた。
9:45 But they understood not this saying, (o. rhema) and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying. (o. rhema)
9:46 弟子たちの間に、彼らのうちでだれがいちばん偉いのだろうかということで、議論がはじまった。
9:46 Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest.
9:47 イエスは彼らの心の思いを見抜き、ひとりの幼な子を取りあげて自分のそばに立たせ、彼らに言われた、
9:47 And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him,
9:48 「だれでもこの幼な子をわたしの名ゆえに受けいれる者は、わたしを受けいれるのである。そしてわたしを受けいれる者は、わたしをおつかわしになったかたを受けいれるのである。あなたがたみんなの中でいちばん小さい者こそ、大きいのである」。
9:48 And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receives me: and whosoever shall receive me receives him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.
9:49 するとヨハネが答えて言った、「先生、わたしたちはある人があなたの名を使って悪霊を追い出しているのを見ましたが、その人はわたしたちの仲間でないので、やめさせました」。
9:49 And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in your name; and we forbad him, because he follows not with us.
9:50 イエスは彼に言われた、「やめさせないがよい。あなたがたに反対しない者は、あなたがたの味方なのである」。
9:50 And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.
9:51 さて、イエスが天に上げられる日が近づいたので、エルサレムへ行こうと決意して、その方へ顔をむけられ、
9:51 And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,
9:51 自分に先立って使者たちをおつかわしになった。そして彼らがサマリヤ人の村へはいって行き、イエスのために準備をしようとしたところ、
9:52 And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.
9:53 村人は、エルサレムへむかって進んで行かれるというので、イエスを歓迎しようとはしなかった。
9:53 And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.
9:54 弟子のヤコブとヨハネとはそれを見て言った、「主よ、いかがでしょう。彼らを焼き払ってしまうように、天から火をよび求めましょうか」。
9:54 And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, will you that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elijah did?
9:55 イエスは振りかえって、彼らをおしかりになった。
9:55 But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, All of you know not what manner of spirit (o. pneuma) all of you are of.
9:56 そして一同はほかの村へ行った。
9:56 For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.
9:57 道を進んで行くと、ある人がイエスに言った、「あなたがおいでになる所ならどこへでも従ってまいります」。
9:57 And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow you anywhere you go.
9:58 イエスはその人に言われた、「きつねには穴があり、空の鳥には巣がある。しかし、人の子にはまくらする所がない」。
9:58 And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man has not where to lay his head.
9:59 またほかの人に、「わたしに従ってきなさい」と言われた。するとその人が言った、「まず、父を葬りに行かせてください」。
9:59 And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
9:60 彼に言われた、「その死人を葬ることは、死人に任せておくがよい。あなたは、出て行って神の国を告げひろめなさい」。
9:60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go you and preach the kingdom of God.
9:61 またほかの人が言った、「主よ、従ってまいりますが、まず家の者に別れを言いに行かせてください」。
9:61 And another also said, Lord, I will follow you; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.
9:62 イエスは言われた、「手をすきにかけてから、うしろを見る者は、神の国にふさわしくないものである」。
9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
10:1 その後、主は別に七十二人を撰び、行こうとしておられたすべての町や村へ、ふたりずつ先におつかわしになった。
10:1 After these things the LORD appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, where he himself would come.
10:2 そのとき、彼らに言われた、「収穫は多いが、働き人が少ない。だから、収穫の主に願って、その収穫のために働き人を送り出すようにしてもらいなさい。
10:2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray all of you therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
10:3 さあ、行きなさい。わたしがあなたがたをつかわすのは、小羊をおおかみの中に送るようなものである。
10:3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
10:4 財布も袋も持って行くな。だれにも道であいさつするな。
10:4 Carry neither purse, nor pouch, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
10:5 どこかの家にはいったら。まず『平安がこの家にあるように』と言いなさい。
10:5 And into whatsoever house all of you enter, first say, Peace be to this house.
10:6 もし平安の子がそこにおれば、あなたがたの祈る平安はその人の上にとどまるであろう。もしそうでなかったら、それはあなたがたの上に帰って来るであろう。
10:6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
10:7 それで、その同じ家に留まっていて、家の人が出してくれるものを飲み食いしなさい。働き人がその報いを得るのは当然である。家から家へと渡り歩くな。
10:7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
10:8 どの町へはいっても、人々があなたがたを迎えてくれるなら、前に出されるものを食べなさい。
10:8 And into whatsoever city all of you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
10:9 そして、その町にいる病人をいやしてやり、『神の国はあなたがたに近づいた』と言いなさい。
10:9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God has come nigh unto you.
10:10 しかし、どの町へはいっても、人々があなたがたを迎えない場合には、大通りに出て行って言いなさい、
10:10 But into whatsoever city all of you enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,
10:11 『わたしたちの足についているこの町のちりも、ぬぐい捨てて行く。しかし、神の国が近づいたことは、承知しているがよい』。
10:11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaves on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be all of you sure of this, that the kingdom of God has come nigh unto you.
10:12 あなたがたに言っておく。その日には、この町よりもソドムの方が耐えやすいであろう。わざわいだ、コラジンよ。
10:12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.
10:13 わざわいだ、ベツサイダよ。おまえたちの中でなされた力あるわざが、もしツロとシドンでなされたなら、彼らはとうの昔に、荒布をまとい灰の中にすわって、悔い改めたであろう。
10:13 Woe unto you, Chorazin! woe unto you, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
10:14 しかし、さばきの日には、ツロとシドンの方がおまえたちよりも、耐えやすいであろう。
10:14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.
10:15 ああ、カペナウムよ、おまえは天にまで上げられようとでもいうのか。黄泉まで落とされるであろう。
10:15 And you, Capernaum, which are exalted to heaven, shall be thrust down to hell.
10:16 あなたがたに聞き従う者は、わたしに聞き従うものであり、あなたがたを拒む者は、わたしをおつかわしになったかたを拒むのである」。
10:16 He that hears you hears me; and he that despises you despises me; and he that despises me despises him that sent me.
10:17 七十二人が喜んで帰ってきて言った、「主よ、あなたの名によっていたしますと、悪霊までがわたしたちに服従します」。
10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through your name.
10:18 彼らに言われた、「わたしはサタンが電光のように天から落ちるのを見た。
10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
10:19 わたしはあなたがたに、へびやさそりを踏みつけ、敵のあらゆる力に打ち勝つ権威を授けた。だから、あなたがたに害をおよぼす者はまったく無いであろう。
10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
10:20 しかし、霊があなたがたに服従することを喜ぶな。むしろ、あなたがたの名が天にしるされていることを喜びなさい」。
10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits (o. pneuma) are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
10:21 そのとき、イエスは聖霊によって喜びあふれて言われた、「天地の主なる父よ。あなたをほめたたえます。これらの事を知恵ある者や賢い者に隠して、幼な子にあらわしてくださいました。父よ、これはまことに、みこころにかなった事でした。
10:21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, (o. pneuma) and said, I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hid these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in your sight.
10:22 すべての事は父からわたしに任せられています。そして、子がだれであるかは、父のほか知っている者はありません。また父がだれであるかは、子と、父をあらわそいとして子が選んだ者とのほか、だれも知っている者はいません」。
10:22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knows who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
10:23 それから弟子たちの方に振りむいて、ひそかに言われた、「あなたがたが見ていることを見る目は、さいわいである。
10:23 And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that all of you see:
10:24 あなたがたに言っておく。多くの預言者や王たちも、あなたがたの見ていることを見ようとしたが、見ることができず、あなたがたの聞いていることを聞こうとしたが、聞けなかったのである」。
10:24 For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which all of you see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which all of you hear, and have not heard them.
10:25 するとそこへ、ある律法学者が現れ、イエスを試みようとして言った、「先生、何をしたら永遠の生命を受けられましょうか」。
10:25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
10:26 彼に言われた、「律法にはなんと書いてあるか。あなたはどう読むか」。
10:26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how read you?
10:27 彼は答えて言った、「『心をつくし、精神をつくし、力をつくし、思いをつくして、主なるあなたの神を愛せよ』。また、『自分を愛するように、あなたの隣り人を愛せよ』とあります」。
10:27 And he answering said, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbour as yourself.
10:28 彼に言われた、「あなたの答は正しい。そのとおり行いなさい。そうすれば、いのちが得られる」。
10:28 And he said unto him, You have answered right: this do, and you shall live.
10:29 すると彼は自分の立場を弁護しようと思って、イエスに言った、「では、わたしの隣り人とはだれのことですか」。
10:29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
10:30 イエスが答えて言われた、「ある人がエルサレムからエリコに下って行く途中、強盗どもが彼を襲い、その着物をはぎ取り、傷を負わせ、半殺しにしたまま、逃げ去った。
10:30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
10:31 するとたまたま、ひとりの祭司がその道を下ってきたが、この人を見ると、向こう側を通って行った。
10:31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
10:32 同様に、レビ人もこのこの場所にさしかかってきたが、彼を見ると向こう側を通って行った。
10:32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
10:33 ところが、あるサマリヤ人が旅をしてこの人のところを通りかかり、彼を見て気の毒に思い、
10:33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
10:34 近寄ってきてその傷にオリブ油とぶどう酒とを注いでほうたいをしてやり、自分の家畜に乗せ、宿屋に連れて行って介抱した。
10:34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
10:35 翌日、デナリ二つを取り出して宿屋の主人に手渡し、『この人を見てやってください。費用がよけいにかかったら、帰りがけに、わたしが支払います』と言った。
10:35 And on the next day when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever you spend more, when I come again, I will repay you.
10:36 この三人のうち、だれが強盗に襲われた人の隣り人になったと思うか」。
10:36 Which now of these three, think you, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
10:37 彼が言った、「その人に慈悲深い行いをした人です」。そこでイエスは言われた、「あなたも行って同じようにしなさい」。
10:37 And he said, He that showed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do you likewise.
10:38 一同が旅を続けているうちに、イエスがある村へはいられた。するとマルタという名の女がイエスを家に迎え入れた。
10:38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
10:39 この女にマリヤという妹がいたが、主の足元にすわって、御言に聞き入っていた。
10:39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. (o. logos)
10:40 ところが、マルタは接待のことで忙しくて心をとりみだし、イエスのところにきて言った、「主よ、妹がわたしにだけ接待をさせているのを、なんともお思いになりませんか。わたしの手伝いをするように妹におっしゃってください」。
10:40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
10:41 主は答えて言われた、「マルタよ、マルタよ、あなたは多くのことに心を配って思いわずらっている。
10:41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, you are careful and troubled about many things:
10:42 しかし、無くてはならぬものは多くはない。いや、一つだけである。マリヤはその良い方を選んだのだ。そしてそれは、彼女から取り去ってはならないものである」。
10:42 But one thing is necessary: and Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
11:1 また、イエスはある所に行で祈っておられたが、それが終わったとき、弟子のひとりが言った、「主よ、ヨハネがその弟子たちに教えたように、わたしたちにも祈ることを教えてください」。
11:1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
11:2 そこで彼らに言われた、『父よ、御名をあがめられますように、御国がきますように。
11:2 And he said unto them, When all of you pray, say, Our Father which are in heaven, Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
11:3 わたしたちの日ごとの食物を、日々お与えください。
11:3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
11:4 わたしたちに負債のある者を皆ゆるしますから、わたしたちの罪をもおゆるしください。わたしたちを試みに会わせないでください』」。
11:4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
11:5 そして彼らに言われた、「あなたがたのうちのだれかに、友人があるとして、その人のところへ真夜中に行き、『友よ、パンを三つ化してください。
11:5 And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;
11:6 友だちが旅先からわたしのところに着いたのですが、何も出すものがありませんから』と言った場合、
11:6 For a friend of mine in his journey has come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?
11:7 彼は内から、『面倒をかけないでくれ。もう戸は締めてしまったし、子供たちもわたしと一緒にとこにはいっているので、いま起きて何もあげるわけにはいかない』と言うであろう。
11:7 And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give you.
11:8 しかし、よく聞きなさい、友人だからというのでは起きて与えないが、しきりに願うので、起き上がって必要なものを出してくれるであろう。
11:8 I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needs.
11:9 そこでわたしはあなたがたに言う。求めよ、そうすれば、与えられるであろう。捜せ、そうすれば見いだすであろう。門をたたけ、そうすれば、あけてもらえるであろう。
11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and all of you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
11:10 すべて求める者に得、捜す者は見いだし、門をたたく者はあけてもらえるからである。
11:10 For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.
11:11 あなたがたのうちで、父であるものは、その子が魚を求めるのに、魚の代わりにへびをあたえるだろうか。
11:11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
11:12 卵を求めるのに、さそりを与えるだろうか。
11:12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
11:13 このように、あなたがたは悪い者でであっても、自分の子供には、良い贈り物をすることを知っているとすれば、天の父はなおさら、求めて来る者に聖霊を下さらないことがあろうか」。
11:13 If all of you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit (o. pneuma) to them that ask him?
11:14 さて、イエスが悪霊を追い出しておられた。それは、物を言えなくする霊であった。悪霊が出て行くと、口の聞けない人が物を言うようになったので、群衆は不思議に思った。
11:14 And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spoke; and the people wondered.
11:15 その中のある人々が、「彼は悪霊のかしらベルゼブルによって、悪霊どもを追い出しているのだ」、と言い、
11:15 But some of them said, He casts out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.
11:16 またほかの人々はイエスを試みようとして、天からのしるしを求めた。
11:16 And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.
11:17 しかしイエスは、彼らの思いを見抜いて言われた、「おおよそ国が内部で分裂すれば自滅してしまい、また家が分れ争えば倒れてしまう。
11:17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falls.
11:18 そこでサタンも内部で分裂すれば、その国はどうして立ち行けよう。おなたがたはわたしがベルゼブルによって悪霊を追い出していると言うが、
11:18 If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because all of you say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.
11:19 もしわたしがベルゼブルによって悪霊を追い出すとすれば、あなたがたの仲間はだれによって追い出すのであろうか。だから、彼らがあなたがたをさばく者となるであろう。
11:19 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.
11:20 しかし、わたしが神の指によって悪霊を追い出しているのなら、神の国はすでにあなたがたのところにきたのである。
11:20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God has come upon you.
11:21 強い人が十分に武装して自分の邸宅を守っている限り、その持ち物は安全である。
11:21 When a strong man armed keeps his palace, his goods are in peace:
11:22 しかし、もっと強い者が襲ってきて彼に打ち勝てば、その頼みにしていた武具を奪って、その分捕品を分けるのである。
11:22 But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he takes from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divides his spoils.
11:23 わたしの味方でない者は、わたしに反対するものであり、わたしと共に集めない者は、散らすものである。
11:23 He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathers not with me scatters.
11:24 汚れた霊が人から出ると、休み場を求めて水の無い所を歩きまわるが、見つからないので、出てきた元の家に帰ろうと言って、
11:24 When the unclean spirit (o. pneuma) is gone out of a man, he walks through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, I will return unto my house whence I came out.
11:25 帰って見ると、その家はそうじがしてある上、飾りつけがしてあった。
11:25 And when he comes, he finds it swept and garnished.
11:26 そこでまた出て行って、自分以上に悪い他の七つの霊を引き連れてきて中にはいり、そこに住み込む。そうすると、その人の後の状態は初めよりももっと悪くなるのである」。
11:26 Then goes he, and takes to him seven other spirits (o. pneuma) more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
11:27 イエスがこう話しておられるとき、群衆の中からひとりの女が声を張りあげて言った、「あなたを宿した胎、あなたが吸われた乳房は、なんとめぐまれていることでしょう」。
11:27 And it came to pass, as he spoke these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare you, and the breast which you have sucked.
11:28 しかしイエスは言われた、「いや、めぐまれているのは、むしろ、神の言を聞いてそれを守る人たちである」。
11:28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word (o. logos) of God, and keep it.
11:29 さて群衆が群がり集まったので、イエスは語り出された、「この時代は邪悪な時代である。それはしるしを求めるが、ヨナのしるしのほかはには、なんのしるしも与えられないであろう。
11:29 And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet.
11:30 というのは、ニネベの人々に対してヨナがしるしとなったように、人の子もこの時代に対してしるしとなるであろう。
11:30 For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation.
11:31 南の女王が、今の時代の人々と共にさばきの場に立って、彼らを罪に定めるであろう。なぜなら、彼女はソロモンの知恵を聞くために、地の果てからはるばるきたからである。しかし見よ、ソロモンにまさる者がここにいる。
11:31 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
11:32 ニネベの人々が、今の時代の人々と共にさばきの場に立って、彼らを罪に定めるであろう。なぜなら、ニネベの人々はヨナの宣教によって悔い改めたからである。しかし見よ、ヨナにまさる者がここにいる。
11:32 The men of Nineveh shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
11:33 だれもあかりをともして、それを穴倉の中や枡の下に置くことはしない。むしろはいって来る人たちに、そのあかりが見えるように、燭台の上におく。
11:33 No man, when he has lighted a candle, puts it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.
11:34 あなたの目は、からだのあかりである。あなたの目が澄んでおれば、全身も明るいが、目がわるければ、からだも暗い。
11:34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore when yours eye is single, your whole body also is full of light; but when yours eye is evil, your body also is full of darkness.
11:35 だからあなたの内なる光が暗くならないように注意しなさい。
11:35 Take heed therefore that the light which is in you be not darkness.
11:36 もし、あなたのからだ全体が明るくて、暗い部分が少しもなければ、ちょうど、あかりが輝いてあなたを照らす時のように、全身が明るくなるであろう」
11:36 If your whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle does give you light.
11:37 イエスが語っておられた時、あるパリサイ人が自分の家で食事をしていただきたいと申し出たので、はいって食卓につかれた。ところが、
11:37 And as he spoke, a certain Pharisee besought him to dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to food.
11:38 食前にまず洗うことをなさらなかったのを見て、そのパリサイ人は不思議に思った。
11:38 And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner.
11:39 そこで主は言われた、「いったい、あなたがたパリサイ人は、杯や盆の外側をきよめるが、あなたがたの内側は貪欲と邪悪とで満ちている。
11:39 And the Lord said unto him, Now do all of you Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.
11:40 愚かな者たちよ、外側を造ったかたは、また内側も造られたではないか。
11:40 All of you fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also?
11:41 ただ、内側にあるものをきよめなさい。そうすれば、いっさいがあなたがたにとって、清いものとなる。
11:41 But rather give alms of such things as all of you have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.
11:42 しかし、あなた方パリサイ人は、わざわいである。はっか、うん香、あらゆる野菜などの十分の一を宮に納めておきながら、義と神に対する愛とをなおざりにしている。それもなおざりにできないが、これを行わねばならない。
11:42 But woe unto you, Pharisees! for all of you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love (o. agape) of God: these ought all of you to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
11:43 あなたがたパリサイ人は、わざわいである。会堂の上席や広場での敬礼を好んでいる。
11:43 Woe unto you, Pharisees! for all of you love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.
11:44 あなたがたは、わざわいである。人目につかない墓のようなものである。その上を歩いても人々は気づかないでいる」。
11:44 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.
11:45 ひとりの律法学者がイエスに答えて言った、「先生、そんなことを言われるのは、わたしたちまでも侮辱することです」。
11:45 Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thus saying you reproach us also.
11:46 そこで言われた、「あなたがた律法学者も、わざわいである。負い切れない重荷を人に負わせながら、自分ではその荷に指一本でも触れようとしない。
11:46 And he said, Woe unto you also, all of you lawyers! for all of you load men with burdens grievous to be borne, and all of you yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.
11:47 あなたがたは、わざわいである。預言者たちの碑を建てるが、しかし彼らを殺したのは、あなたがたの先祖であったのだ。
11:47 Woe unto you! for all of you build the sepulchers of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
11:48 だから、あなたがたは、自分の先祖のしわざに同意する証人なのだ。先祖が彼らを殺し、あなたがたがその碑を建てるのだから。
11:48 Truly all of you bear witness that all of you allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and all of you build their sepulchers.
11:49 それゆえに、『神の知恵』も言っている、『わたしは預言者と使徒とを彼らにつかわすが、彼らはそのうちのある者を殺したり、迫害したりするであろう』。
11:49 Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:
11:50 それで、アベルの血から祭壇と神殿との間で殺されたザカリヤの血に至るまで、世の初めから流されてきたすべての預言者の血について、この時代がその責任を問われる。
11:50 That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
11:51 そうだ、あなたがたに言って置く、この時代がその責任を問われるであろう。
11:51 From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.
11:52 あなたがた律法学者は、わざわいである。知識のかぎを取りあげて、自分がはいらないばかりか、はいろうとする人たちを妨げてきた」。
11:52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for all of you have taken away the key of knowledge: all of you entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in all of you hindered.
11:53 イエスがそこを出て行かれると、律法学者やパリサイ人は、激しく詰め寄り、いろいろな事を問いかれて、
11:53 And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things:
11:54 イエスの口から何か言いがかりを得ようと、ねらいはじめた。
11:54 Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.
12:1 その間に、おびただしい群衆が、互いに踏み合うほどに群がってきたが、イエスはまず弟子たちに語りはじめらた、「パリサイ人のパン種、すなわち彼らの偽善に気をつけなさい。
12:1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware all of you of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
12:2 おおいかぶされたもので、現れてこないものはなく。隠れているもので、知られてこないものはない。
12:2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
12:3 だから、あなたがたが暗やみで言ったことは、なんでもみな明るみで聞かれ、密室で耳にささやいたことは、屋根の上で言いひろめられるであろう。
12:3 Therefore whatsoever all of you have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which all of you have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
12:4 そこでわたしの友であるあなたがたに言うが、からだを殺しても、そのあとでそれ以上なにもできない者どもを恐れるな。
12:4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
12:5 恐るべき者がだれであるか、教えてあげよう。殺したあとで、更に地獄に投げ込む権威のあるかたを恐れなさい。
12:5 But I will forewarn you whom all of you shall fear: Fear him, which after he has killed has power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
12:6 五羽のすずめは二アサリオンで売られているではないか。しかも、その一羽も神のみまえで忘れられてはいない。
12:6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?
12:7 その上、あなたがたの頭の毛までも、みな数えられている。恐れることはない。あなたがたは多くのすずめよりも、まさった者である。
12:7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: all of you are of more value than many sparrows.
12:8 そこで、あなたがたに言う。だれでも人の前でわたしを受けいれる者を、人の子も神の使いたちの前で受けいれるであろう。
12:8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
12:9 しかし、人の前でわたしを拒む者は、神の使いたちの前で拒まれるであろう。
12:9 But he that denies me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.
12:10 また、人の子に言い逆らう者はゆるされるであろうが、聖霊をけがす者は、ゆるされることはない。
12:10 And whosoever shall speak a word (o. logos) against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemes against the Holy Spirit (o. pneuma) it shall not be forgiven.
12:11 あなたがたが会堂や役人や高官の前へひっぱられて行った場合には、何をどう弁明しようか、何を言おうかと心配しないがよい。
12:11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take all of you no thought how or what thing all of you shall answer, or what all of you shall say:
12:12 言うべきことは、聖霊がその時に教えてくださるからである」。
12:12 For the Holy Spirit (o. pneuma) shall teach you in the same hour what all of you ought to say.
12:13 群衆の中のひとりがイエスに言った、「先生、わたしの兄弟に、遺産を分けてくれるようにおっしゃつてください」。
12:13 And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.
1214彼に言われた、「人よ、だれがわたしをあなたがたの裁判人または分配人に立てたのか」。
12:14 And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?
12:15 それから人々にむかって言われた、「あらゆる貪欲に対してよくよく警戒しなさい。たといたくさんの物を持っていても、人のいのちは、持ち物にはよらないのである」。
12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consists not in the abundance of the things which he possesses.
12:16 そこで一つの譬で語られた、「ある金持の畑が豊作であった。
12:16 And he spoke a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
12:17 そこで彼は心の中で、『どうしようか、わたしの作物をしまっておく所がないのだが』とおもいめぐらして
12:17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
12:18 言った、『こうしよう。わたしの倉を取りこわし、もっと大きいのを建てて、そこに穀物や食糧を全部しまい込もう。
12:18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
12:19 そして自分の魂に言おう。たましいよ、おまえには長年月分の食糧がたくさんたくわえてある。さあ安心せよ、食え、飲め、楽しめ』。
12:19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have much goods laid up for many years; take yours ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
12:20 すると神が彼に言われた、『愚かな者よ、あなたの魂は今夜のうちにも取り去られるであろう。そしたら、あなたが用意した物は、だれのものになるのか』。
12:20 But God said unto him, You fool, this night your soul shall be required of you: then whose shall those things be, which you have provided?
12:21 自分のために宝を積んで神に対して富まない者は、これと同じである」。
12:21 So is he that lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
12:22 それから弟子たちに言われた、「それだから、あなたがたに言っておく。何を食べようとかと、命のことで思いわずらい、何を着ようかとからだのことで思いわずらうな。
12:22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what all of you shall eat; neither for the body, what all of you shall put on.
12:23 命は食物にまさり、からだは着物にまさっている。
12:23 The life is more than food, and the body is more than raiment.
12:24 からすのことを考えて見よ。まくことも、刈ることもせず、また、納屋もなく倉もない。それだのに、神は彼らを養っていて下さる。あなたがたは鳥よりも、はるかにすぐれているではないか。
12:24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them: how much more are all of you better than the fowls?
12:25 あなたがたのうち、だれが思いわずらったからとて、自分の寿命をわずかでも延ばすことができようか。
12:25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
12:26 そんな小さい事でさえできないのに、どうしてほかのことを思いわずらうのか。
12:26 If all of you then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take all of you thought for the rest?
12:27 野の花のことを考えて見るがよい。紡ぎもせず、織りもしない。しかし、あなたがたに言うが、栄華をきわめた時のソロモンでさえ、この花一つほどにも着飾ってはいなかった。
12:27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
12:28 きょうは野にあって、あすは炉に投げ入れられる草でさえ、神はこのように装って下さるのなら、あなたがたに、それ以上よくしてくださらないはずがあろうか。ああ、信仰の薄い者たちよ。
12:28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O all of you of little faith?
12:29 あなたがたも、何を食べ、何を飲もうかと、あくせくするな、また気を使うな。
12:29 And seek not all of you what all of you shall eat, or what all of you shall drink, neither be all of you of doubtful mind.
12:30 これらのものは皆、この世の異邦人が切に求めているものである。あなたがたの父は、これらのものがあなたがたに必要であることを、ご存知である。
12:30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knows that all of you have need of these things.
12:31 ただ、御国を求めなさい。そうすれば、これらのものは添えて与えられるであろう。
12:31 But rather seek all of you the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
12:32 恐れるな、小さい群れよ。御国を下さることは、あなたがたの父のみこころなのである。
12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
12:33 自分の持ち物を売って、施しなさい。自分のために古びることのない財布をつくり、盗人も近寄らず、虫も食い破らない天に、尽きることのない宝をたくわえなさい。
12:33 Sell that all of you have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that fails not, where no thief approaches, neither moth corrupts.
12:34 あなたがたの宝のある所には、心もあるからである。
12:34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
12:35 腰に帯をしめ、あかりをともしていなさい。
12:35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;
12:36 主人が婚宴から帰ってきて戸をたたくとき、すぐあけてあげようと待っている人のようにしていなさい。
12:36 And all of you yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he comes and knocks, they may open unto him immediately.
12:37 主人が帰ってきたとき、目を覚ましているのを見られる僕たちを食卓につかせ、進み寄って給仕してくれるであろう。
12:37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he comes shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to food, and will come forth and serve them.
12:38 主人が夜中ごろ、あるいは夜明けごろに帰ってきても、そうしているのを見られるなら、その人たちはさいわいである。
12:38 And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
12:39 このことを、わきまえているがよい。家の主人は、盗賊がいつごろ来るかわかっているなら、自分の家に押し入らせはしないであろう。
12:39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
12:40 あなたがたも用意していなさい。思いがけない時に人の子が来るからである」。
12:40 Be all of you therefore ready also: for the Son of man comes at an hour when all of you think not.
12:41 するとペテロが言った、「主よ、この譬をはなしておられるのはわたしたちのためですか。それとも、みんなの者のためなのですか」。
12:41 Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speak you this parable unto us, or even to all?
12:42 そこで主が言われた、「主人が、召使たちの上に立てて、時に応じて定めの食事をそなえさせる忠実な思慮深い家令は、いったいだれであろう。
12:42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season?
12:43 主人が帰ってきたとき、そのようにつとめているのを見られる僕は、さいわいである。
12:43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he comes shall find so doing.
12:44 よく言っておくが、主人はその僕を立てて自分の全財産を管理させるであろう。
12:44 Truthfully I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he has.
12:45 しかし、もしその僕が、主人の帰りがおそいと心の中で思い、男女の召使たちを打ちたたき、そして食べたり、飲んだりして酔いはじめるならば、
12:45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delays his coming; and shall begin to beat the male servants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
12:46 その僕の主人は思いがけない日、気づかない時に帰って来るであろう。そして、彼を厳罰に処して、不忠実なものたちと同じ目にあわせるであろう。
12:46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looks not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
12:47 主人のこころを知っていながら、それに従って用意もせず勤めもしなかった僕は、多くむち打たれるであろう。
12:47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
12:48 しかし、知らずに打たれるようなことをした者は、打たれ方が少ないだろう。多く与えられた者からは多く求められ、多く任せられた者からは更に多く要求されるであろう。
12:48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
12:49 わたしは、火を地上に投じるためにきたのだ。火がすでに燃えていたならと、わたしはどんなに願っていることか。
12:49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?
12:50 しかし、わたしには受けなければならないバプテスマがある。そして、それを受けてしまうまでは、わたしはどんなにか苦しい思いをすることであろう。
12:50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!
12:51 あなたがたは、わたしが平和をこの地上にもたらすためにきたと思っているのか。あなたがたに言っておく。そうではない。むしろ分裂である。
12:51 Suppose all of you that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:
12:52 というのは、今から後は、一家の内で五人が相分れて、三人はふたりに、ふたりは三人に対立し、
12:52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
12:53 また父は子、子は父に、母は娘に、娘は母に、しゅうとめは嫁に、嫁はしゅうとめに、対立するであろう」。
12:53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
12:54 イエスはまた群衆に対しても言われた、「あなたがたは、雲が西に起るのを見るとすぐ、にわか雨がやって来る、と言う。果たしてそのとおりになる。
12:54 And he said also to the people, When all of you see a cloud rise out of the west, immediately all of you say, There comes a shower; and so it is.
12:55 それから南風が吹くと、暑くなるだろう、と言う。果たしてそのとおりになる。
12:55 And when all of you see the south wind blow, all of you say, There will be heat; and it comes to pass.
12:56 偽善者よ、あなたがたは天地の模様を見分けることを知りながら、どうして今の時代を見分けることができないのか。
12:56 All of you hypocrites, all of you can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that all of you do not discern this time?
12:57 また、あなたがたは、なぜ正しいことを自分で判断しないのか。
12:57 Yea, and why even of yourselves judge all of you not what is right?
12:58 たとえば、あなたを訴える人と一緒に役人のところへ行くときには、途中でその人と和解するように努めるがよい。そうしないと、その人はあなたを裁判官のところへひっぱって行き、裁判官はあなたを獄吏に引き渡し、獄吏はあなたを獄に投げ込むであろう。
12:58 When you go with yours adversary to the magistrate, as you are in the way, give diligence that you may be delivered from him; lest he hale you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer cast you into prison.
12:59 わたしは言って置く、最後の一レプタまでも支払ってしまうまでは、決してそこから出て来ることはできない」。
12:59 I tell you, you shall not depart thence, till you have paid the very last mite.
13:1 ちょうどその時、ある人々がきて、ピラトがガリラヤ人たちの血を流し、それを彼らの犠牲の血に混ぜたことを、イエスに知らせた。
13:1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
13:2 そこでイエスは答えて言われた、「それらのガリラヤ人が、そのような災難あったからといって、他のすべてのガリラヤ人以上に罪が深かったと思うのか。
13:2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose all of you that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?
13:3 あなたがたに言うが、そうではない、あなたがたも悔い改めなければ、みな同じように滅びるであろう。
13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except all of you repent, all of you shall all likewise perish.
13:4 また、シロアムの塔が倒れたためにおし殺したあの十八人は、エルサレムの他の全民衆以上に罪の負債があったと思うか。
13:4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think all of you that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
13:5 あなたがたに言うが、そうではない、あなたがたも悔い改めなければ、みな同じように滅びるであろう」。
13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except all of you repent, all of you shall all likewise perish.
13:6 それから、この譬で語られた、「ある人が自分のぶどう園にいちじくの木を植えて置いたので、実を探しにきたが見つからなかった。
13:6 He spoke also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
13:7 そこで園丁に言った、『わたしは三年間も実を求めて、このいちじくの木のところにきたのだが、いまだに見あたらない。その木を切り倒してしまえ。なんのために、土地をむだにふそがせて置くのか』。
13:7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbers it the ground?
13:8 すると園丁は答えて言った、『ご主人様、ことしも、そのままにして置いてください。そのまわりを掘って肥料をやって見ますから。
13:8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
13:9 それで来年実がなりましたら結構です。もしそれでもだめなら、切り倒してください』」。
13:9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that you shall cut it down.
13:10 安息日に、ある会堂で教えておられると、
13:10 And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.
13:11 そこに十八年も病気の霊につかれ、かがんだままで、からだを伸ばすことの全くできない女がいた。
13:11 And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit (o. pneuma) of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.
13:12 イエスはこの女を見て、呼びよせ、「女よ、あなたの病気はなおった」と言って、
13:12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, you are loosed from yours infirmity.
13:13 手をその上に置かれた。すると立ちどころに、そのからだがますくになり、そして神をたたえはじめた。
13:13 And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
13:14 ところが会堂司は、イエスが安息日に病気をいやされたことに憤り、群衆にむかって言った、「働くべき日は六日ある。その間に、なおしてもらいにきなさい。安息日にはいけない」。
13:14 And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.
13:15 主はこれに答えて言われた、「偽善者たちよ、あなたがたはだれでも、安息日であっても、自分の牛やろばを家畜小屋から解いて、水を飲ませに引き出してやるではないか。
13:15 The Lord then answered him, and said, You hypocrite, does not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?
13:16 それなら、十八年もサタンに縛られいた、アブラハムの娘であるこの女を、安息日であっても、その束縛から解いてやるべきではなかったか」。
13:16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
13:17 こう言われたので、イエスに反対していた人たちはみな恥じ入った。そして群衆はこぞって、イエスがなされたすべてのすばらしいみわざを見て喜んだ。
13:17 And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
13:18 そこで言われた、「神の国は何に似ているか。またそれを何にたとえようか。
13:18 Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and unto which shall I resemble it?
13:19 一粒のからし種のようなものである。ある人がそれを取って庭にまくと、育って木となり、空の鳥もその枝に宿るようになる」。
13:19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.
13:20 また言われた、「神の国を何にたとえようか。
13:20 And again he said, Unto which shall I liken the kingdom of God?
13:21 パン種のようなものである。女がそれを取って三斗の粉の中に混ぜると、全体がふくらんでくる」。
13:21 It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
13:22 さてイエスは教えながら町々村々を通り過ぎ、エルサレムへと旅を続けられた。
13:22 And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
13:23 すると、ある人がイエスに、「主よ、救われる人は少ないのですか」と尋ねた。
13:23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
13:24 そこでイエスは人々にむかって言われた、「狭い戸口からはいるように努めなさい。事実、はいろうとしても、はいれない人が多いのだから。
13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
13:25 家の主人が立って戸を閉じてしまってから、あなたがたが外に立ち戸をたたき始めて、『ご主人様、ぞうぞあけてください』と言っても、主人はそれに答えて、『あなたがたがどこからきた人なのか、わたしはしらない』と言うであろう。
13:25 When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut to the door, and all of you begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence all of you are:
13:26 そのとき、『わたしたちはあなたとご一緒に飲み食いしました。また、あなたはわたしたちの大通りで教えてくださいました』と言い出しても、
13:26 Then shall all of you begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in your presence, and you have taught in our streets.
13:27 彼は、『あなたがたがどこからきた人なのか、わたしは知らない。悪事を働く者どもよ、みんな行ってしまえ』と言うであろう。
13:27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence all of you are; depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.
13:28 あなたがたは、アブラハム、イサク、ヤコブやすべての預言者たちが、神の国にはいっているのに、自分たちは外に投げ出されることになれば、そこで泣き叫んだり、歯がみをしたりするであろう。
13:28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when all of you shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
13:29 それから人々が、東から西から、また南から北からきて、神の国の宴会の席につくであろう。
13:29 And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
13:30 こうしてあとのもので先になるものがあり、また、先のものであとのものになるものもある」。
13:30 And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.
13:31 ちょうどその時、あるパリサイ人たちが、イエスに近寄ってきて言った、「ここから出て行きなさい。ヘロデがあなたを殺そうとしています」。
13:31 The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get you out, and depart behind: for Herod will kill you.
13:32 そこで彼らに言われた、「あのきつねのところへ行ってこう言え、『見よ、わたしはきょうもあすも悪霊を追い出し、また、病気をいやし、そして三日目にわざを終えるであろう。
13:32 And he said unto them, Go all of you, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.
13:33 しかし、きょうもあすも、またその次の日も、わたしは進んで行かねばならない。預言者がエルサレム以外の地で死ぬことは、あり得ないからである』。
13:33 Nevertheless I must walk to day, and tomorrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.
13:34 ああ、エルサレム、エルサレム、預言者たちを殺し、おまえたちにつかわされた人々を石で打ち殺す者よ、ちょうどめんどりが翼の下にひなを集めるように、私はおまえの子らを幾たび集めようとしたことであろう。それだのに、おまえたちは応じようとしなかった。
13:34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which kill the prophets, and stone them that are sent unto you; how often would I have gathered your children together, as a hen does gather her brood under her wings, and all of you would not!
13:35 見よ、おまえたちの家は見捨てられてしまう。わたしは言って置く、『主の名によってきたるものに、祝福あれ』とおまえたちが言う時の来るまでは、再びわたしに会うことはないであろう」。
13:35 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, All of you shall not see me, until the time come when all of you shall say, Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord.
14:1 ある安息日のこと、食事をするために、あるパリサイ派のかしらの家にはいって行かれたが、人々はイエスの様子をうかがっていた。
14:1 And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, that they watched him.
14:2 するとそこに、水腫をわずらっている人が、みまえにいた。
14:2 And, behold, there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy.
14:3 イエスは律法学者パリサイ人たちにむかって言われた、「安息日に人をいやすのは、正しいことかどうか」。
14:3 And Jesus answering spoke unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?
14:4 彼らは黙っていた。そこでイエスはその人に手を置いていやしてやり、そしてお帰りになった。
14:4 And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go;
14:5 それから彼らに言われた、「あなたがたのうちで、自分のむすこか牛が井戸に落ち込んだなら、安息日だからといって、すぐに引き上げてやらない者がいるだろうか」。
14:5 And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not immediately pull him out on the sabbath day?
14:6 彼らはこれに対して返す言葉がなかった。
14:6 And they could not answer him again to these things.
14:7 客に招かれた者たちが上座を選んでいる様子をごらんになって、彼らに一つの譬で語られた。
14:7 And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them.
14:8 「婚宴に招かれたときには、上座につくな。あるいは、おなたがたよりも身分の高い人が招かれているかも知れない。
14:8 When you are bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than you be bidden of him;
14:9 その場合、あなたとその人を招いた人がきて、『このかたに座を、譲ってください』と言うであろう。そのとき、あなたは恥じ入って末座につくことになるであろう。
14:9 And he that bade you and him come and say to you, Give this man place; and you begin with shame to take the low room.
14:10 むしろ、招かれた場合には、末座に行ってすわりなさい。そうすれば、招いてくれた人がきて、『友よ、上座の方へお進みください』と言うであろう。そのとき、あなたの席を共にするみんなの前で、面目をほどこすことになるであろう。
14:10 But when you are bidden, go and sit down in the low room; that when he that bade you comes, he may say unto you, Friend, go up higher: then shall you have worship in the presence of them that sit to eat with you.
14:11 おおよそ、自分を高くする者は低くされ、自分を低くする者は高くされるのであろう」。
14:11 For whosoever exalts himself shall be brought low; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted.
14:12 また、イエスは自分を招いた人に言われた、「午餐または晩餐の席を設ける場合には、友人、兄弟、親族、金持の隣り人なとは呼ばぬがよい。おそらく彼らもあなたを招きかえし、それであなたは返礼を受けることになるから。
14:12 Then said he also to him that bade him, When you make a dinner or a supper, call not your friends, nor your brethren, neither your kinsmen, nor your rich neighbours; lest they also bid you again, and a recompence be made you.
14:13 むしろ、宴会を催す場合には、貧しい人、体の不自由な人、足の悪い人、目の見えない人などを招くが良い。
14:13 But when you make a feast, call the poor, the physically disabled, the lame, the blind:
14:14 そうすれば、彼らは返礼ができないから、あなたはさいわいになるであろう。正しい人々の復活の際には、あなたはむくいられるであろう」。
14:14 And you shall be blessed; for they cannot recompense you: for you shall be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
14:15 列席者のひとりがこれを聞いてイエスに「神の国で食事をする人は、さいわいです」と言った。
14:15 And when one of them that sat at food with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.
14:16 そこでイエスが言われた、「ある人が盛大な晩餐会を催して、大ぜいの人を招いた。
14:16 Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:
14:17 晩餐の時刻になったので、招いておいた人たちのもとに僕を送って、『さあ、おいでください。もう準備ができましたから』と言わせた。
14:17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.
14:18 ところが、みんな一様に断りはじめた。最初の人は『わたしは土地を買いましたので、行って見なければなりません。どうぞ、おゆるしください』と言った。
14:18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must essentially go and see it: I pray you have me excused.
14:19 ほかの人は、『わたしは五対の牛を買いましたので、それをしらべに行くところです。どうぞ、おゆるしください』、
14:19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray you have me excused.
14:20 もうひとりの人は、『わたしは妻をめとりましたので、参ることができません』と言った。
14:20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
14:21 僕は帰ってきて、以上の事を主人に報告した。すると家の主人はおこって僕に言った、『いますぐに、町の大通りや小道へ行って、貧しい人、体の不自由な人、目の見えない人、足の悪い人などを、ここへ連れてきなさい』。
14:21 So that servant came, and showed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor, and the physically disabled, and the halt, and the blind.
14:22 僕は言った、『ご主人様、仰せのとおりにいたしましたが、まだ席がございます』。
14:22 And the servant said, Lord, it is done as you have commanded, and yet there is room.
14:23 主人が僕に言った、『道やかきねのあたりに出て行って、この家がいっぱいになるように、人々を無理やりひっぱってきなさい。
14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
14:24 あなたがたに言って置くが、招かれた人で、わたしの晩餐にあずかる者はひとりもないであろう』」。
14:24 For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.
14:25 大ぜいの群衆ががついてきたので。イエスは彼らの方をに向かって言われた、
14:25 And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,
14:26 「だれでも、父、母、妻、子、兄弟、姉妹、さらに自分の命までも捨てて、わたしの弟子となることはできない。
14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
14:27 自分の十字架を負うてわたしについて来るものでなければ、わたしの弟子となることはできない。
14:27 And whosoever does not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
14:28 あなたがたのうちで、だれかが邸宅を建てようと思うなら、それを仕上げるのに足りるだけの金を持っているかどうかをみるため、まず、すわってその費用を計算しないだろうか。
14:28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sits not down first, and counts the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
14:29 そうしないと、土台をすえただけで完成することができず、見ているみんなの人が、
14:29 Lest lest by any means, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
14:30 『あの人は建てかけたが仕上げができなかった』と言ってあざ笑うようになろう。
14:30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
14:31 また、どんな王でも、ほかの王と戦いを交えるために出ていく場合には、まず座して、こちらの一万人をもって、二万人を率いて向かってくる適に対抗できるかどうか、考えて見ないだろうか。
14:31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sits not down first, and consults whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that comes against him with twenty thousand?
14:32 もし自分の力にあまれば、適がまだ遠くにいるうちに、使者を送って、和を求めるであろう。
14:32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends an embassy, and desires conditions of peace.
14:33 それと同じように、あなたがたのうちで、自分の財産をことごとくすて切るものでなくては、わたしの弟子となることはできない。
14:33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsakes not all that he has, he cannot be my disciple.
14:34 塩は良いものだ。しかし、塩もききめがなくなったら、何によって塩味が取りもどされようか。
14:34 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?
14:35 土にも肥料にも役立たず、外に投げ捨てられてしまう。聞く耳のあるものは聞くがよい」。
14:35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that has ears to hear, let him hear.
15:1 さて、収税人や罪人たちが皆、イエスの話を聞こうとして近寄ってきた。
15:1 Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners in order to hear him.
15:2 するとパリサイ人や律法学者たちがつぶやいて、「この人は罪人たちを迎えて一緒に食事をしている」と言った。
15:2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receives sinners, and eats with them.
15:3 そこでイエスは彼らに、この譬をお話になった、
15:3 And he spoke this parable unto them, saying,
15:4 「あなたがたのうちに、百匹の羊を持っている者がいたとする。その一匹がいなくなったら、九十九匹を野に残しておいて、いなくなった一匹を見つけるまでは捜しに歩かないであろうか。
15:4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, does not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
15:5 そして見つけたら、喜んでそれを自分の肩に乗せ、
15:5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
15:6 家に帰ってきて友人や隣り人を呼び集め、『わたしと一緒に喜んでください。いなくなった羊を見つけましたから』と言うであろう。
15:6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
15:7 よく聞きなさい。それと同じように、罪人がひとりでも悔い改めるなら、悔い改めが必要としない九十九人の正しい人のためにもまさる大きいよろこびが、天にあるであろう」。
15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repents, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
15:8 また、ある女が銀貨十枚を持っていて、もしその一枚をなくしたとすれば、彼女はあかりをつけて家中を掃き、それを見つけるまでは注意深く捜さないであろうか。
15:8 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, does not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?
15:9 そして見つけたなら、女友だちや近所の女たちを呼び集めて、『わたしと一緒に喜んでください。なくした銀貨が見つかりましたから』と言うであろう。
15:9 And when she has found it, she calls her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.
15:10 よく聞きなさい。それと同じように、罪人がひとりでも悔い改めるなら、神の御使たちの前でよろこびがあるであろう」。
15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repents.
15:11 また言われた、「ある人に、ふたりのむすこがあった。
15:11 And he said, A certain man had two sons:
15:12 ところが、弟が父親に言った、『父よ、あなたの財産のうちでわたしがいただく分をください』。そこで、父はその身代をふたりに分けてやった。
15:12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me. And he divided unto them his living.
15:13 それから幾日もたたないうちに、弟は自分のものを全部とりまとめて遠い所へ行き、そこで放蕩に身を持ちくずして財産を使い果たした。
15:13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
15:14 何もかも浪費してしまったのち、その地方にひどいききんがあったので、彼は食べることにも窮しはじめた。
15:14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in lack.
15:15 そこで、その地方のある住民のところに行って身を寄せたところが、その人は彼を畑にやって豚を飼わせた。
15:15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
15:16 彼は、豚の食べるいなご豆で腹を満たしたいと思うほどであったが、何もくれる人はなかった。
15:16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
15:17 そこで彼は本心に立ちかえって言った『父のところには食物のあり余っている雇人が大ぜいいるのに、わたしはここで飢えて死のうとしている。
15:17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
15:18 立って、父のところへ帰って、こう言おう、父よ、わたしは天に対しても、あなたにむかっても、罪を犯しました。
15:18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before you,
15:19 もう、あなたのむすこと呼ばれる資格はありません。ぞうぞ、雇人のひとり同様にしてください』。
15:19 And am no more worthy to be called your son: make me as one of your hired servants.
15:20 そこで立って、父のところへ出かけた。まだ遠く離れていたのに、父は彼をみとめ、哀れに思って走り寄り、その首をだいて接吻した。
15:20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
15:21 むすこは父に言った、『父よ、わたしは天に対しても、あなたにむかっても、罪を犯しました。もうあなたの息子と呼ばれる資格はありません』。
15:21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight, and am no more worthy to be called your son.
15:22 しかし父は僕たちに言いつけた、『さあ、早く、最上の着物を出してきてこの子に着せ、指輪を手にはめ、はきものを足にはかせなさい。
15:22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
15:23 また、肥えた子牛を引いてきてほふりなさい。食べて楽しもうではないか。
15:23 And bring here the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
15:24 このむすこが死んでいたのに生き返り、いなくなっていたのに見つかったのだから』。それから祝宴がはじまった。
15:24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
15:25 ところが、兄は畑にいたが、帰ってきて家に近づくと、音楽や踊りの音が聞こえたので、
15:25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing.
15:26 ひとりの僕を呼んで、『いったい、これは何事なのか』と尋ねた。
15:26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
15:27 僕は答えた、『あなたのご兄弟がお帰りになりました。無事に迎えたというので、父上が肥えた子牛をほふらせなさったのです』。
15:27 And he said unto him, Your brother has come; and your father has killed the fatted calf, because he has received him safe and sound.
15:28 兄はおこって家にはいろうとしなかったので、父が出てきてなだめると、
15:28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and implored him.
15:29 兄は父にむかって言った、『わたしは何か年もあなたに仕えて、一度でもあなたの言いつけにそむいたことはなかったのに、友だちと楽しむために子やぎ一匹も下さったことはありません。
15:29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve you, neither transgressed I at any time your commandment: and yet you never gave me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
15:30 それだのに、遊女どもと一緒になって、あなたの身代を食いつぶしたこのあなたの子が帰ってくると、そのために肥えた子牛をほふりなさいました』。
15:30 But as soon as this your son was come, which has devoured your living with harlots, you have killed for him the fatted calf.
15:31 すると父は言った、『子よ、あなたはいつもわたしと一緒にいるし、またわたしのものは全部あなたのものだ。
15:31 And he said unto him, Son, you are ever with me, and all that I have is yours.
15:32 しかし、このあなたの弟は、死んでいたのに生き返り、いなくなっていたのに見つかったのだから、喜び祝うのはあたりまえである』」。
15:32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this your brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
16:1 イエスはまた、弟子たちに言われた、「ある金持ちのところにひとりの家令がいたが、彼は主人の財産を浪費していると、告げ口する者があった。
16:1 And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.
16:3 そこで主人が彼を呼んで言った、『あなたについて聞いていることがある、あれはどうなのか。あなたの会計報告を出しなさい。もう家令をさせて置くわけにはいかないから』。
16:2 And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of you? give an account (o. logos) of your stewardship; for you may be no longer steward.
16:3 この家令は心の中で思った、『どうしようか、主人がわたしの職を取り上げようとしている。土を掘るには力がないし、物ごいをするのは恥ずかしい。
16:3 Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord takes away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.
16:4 そうだ、わかった。こうしておけば、職をやめさせられる場合、人人がわたしを、その家に迎えてくれるだろう』。
16:4 I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.
16:5 それから彼は、主人の負債者をひとりびとり呼び出して、初めの人に、『あなたは、わたしの主人にどれだけ負債がありますか』と尋ねた。
16:5 So he called every one of his lord's debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owe you unto my lord?
16:6 『油百樽です』と答えた。そこで家令が言った、『ここにあなたの証書がある。すぐそこにすわって、五十樽と書き変えなさい』。
16:6 And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take your bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.
16:7 次ぎに、もうひとりに、『あなたの負債はどれだけですか』と尋ねると、『麦百石です』と答えた。これに対して、『ここに、あなたの証書があるが、八十石と書き変えなさい』と言った。
16:7 Then said he to another, And how much owe you? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take your bill, and write fourscore.
16:8 ところが主人は、この不正な家令の利口なやり方をほめた。この世の子らはその時代に対しては、光の子らよりも利口である。
16:8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.
16:9 またあなたがたに言うが、不正の富を用いてでも、自分のために友だちをつくるがよい。そうすれば、富が無くなった場合、あなたがたを永遠のすまいに迎えてくれるであろう。
16:9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when all of you fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.
16:10 小事に忠実な人は、大事にも忠実である。そして、小事に不忠実な人は大事にも不忠実である。
16:10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
16:11 だから、もしあなたがたが不正の富について忠実てなかったら、だれが真の富を任せるだろうか。
16:11 If therefore all of you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
16:12 また、もしほかの人のものについて忠実でなかったら、だれがあなたがたのものを与えてくれようか。
16:12 And if all of you have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?
16:13 どの僕でも、ふたりの主人に兼ね仕えることはできない。一方を憎んで他方を愛し、あるいは、一方に親しんで他方をうとんじるからである。あなたがたは、神と富とに兼ね仕えることはできない」。
16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. All of you cannot serve God and mammon.
16:14 欲の深いパリサイ人たちが、すべてこれらの言葉を聞いて、イエスをあざ笑った。
16:14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.
16:15 そこで彼らにむかって言われた、「あなたがたは、人々の前で自分を正しいとする人たちである。しかし、神はあなたがたの心をご存じである。人々の間で尊ばれるものは、神のまえでは忌みきらわれる。
16:15 And he said unto them, All of you are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knows your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
16:16 律法と預言者とはヨハネの時までのものである。それ以来、神の国が宣べ伝えられ、人々は皆これに突入している。
16:16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presses into it.
16:17 しかし、律法の一画が落ちるよりは、天地の滅びる方が、もっとたやすい。
16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.
16:18 すべて自分の妻を出して他の女をめとるものは、姦淫をおこなうものであり、また、夫から出された女をめとる者も、姦淫を行うものである。
16:18 Whosoever puts away his wife, and marries another, commits adultery: and whosoever marries her that is put away from her husband commits adultery.
16:19 ある金持がいた。彼は紫の衣や細布を着て、毎日ぜいたくに遊び暮らしていた。
16:19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
16:20 ところが、ラザロという貧しい人が全身でき物でおおわれて、この金持の玄関の前にすわり、
16:20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
16:21 その食卓から落ちるもので飢えをしのごうと望んでいた。その上、犬がきて彼のでき物をなめていた。
16:21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
16:22 この貧しい人がついに死に、御使たちにつれられてアブラハムのふところに送られた。金持も死んで葬られた。
16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
16:23 そして黄泉について苦しみながら、目をあげると、アブラハムとそのふところにいるラザロとが、はるかに見えた。
16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and sees Abraham far off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
16:24 そこで声をあげて言った、『父、アブラハムよ、わたしをあわれんでください。ラザロをおつかわしになって、その指先を水でぬらし、わたしの舌を冷やさせてください。わたしはこの火災の中で苦しみもだえています』。
16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
16:25 アブラハムが言った、『子よ、思い出すがよい。あなたは生前よいものを受け、ラザロの方は悪い物を受けた。しかし今ここでは、彼は慰められ、あなたは苦しみもだえている。
16:25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and you are tormented.
16:26 そればかりか、わたしたちとあなたがたとの間には大きな淵がおいてあって、こちらからあなたがたの方へ渡ろうと思ってもできないし、そちらからわたしたちの方へ越えて来ることもできない』。
16:26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from behind to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
16:27 そこで金持が言った、『父よ、ではお願いします。わたしの父の家へラザロをつかわしてください。
16:27 Then he said, I pray you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house:
16:28 わたしに五人の兄弟がいますので、こんな苦しい所へ来ることがないように、彼らに警告していただきたいのです』。
16:28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
16:29 アブラハムは言った、『彼らにはモーセと預言者とがある。それに聞くがよかろう』。
16:29 Abraham says unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
16:30 金持が言った、『いえいえ、父アブラハムよ、もし死人の中からだれかが兄弟たちのところへ行ってくれましたら、彼らは悔い改めるでしょう』。
16:30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
16:31 アブラハムは言った、『もし彼らがモーセと預言者とに耳を傾けないなら、死人の中からよみがえってくる者があっても、彼らはその勧めを聞き入れはしないであろう』」。
16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
