11:1 イエスは十二弟子にこのように命じ終えてから、町々でまた宣べ伝えるために、そこを立ち去られた。
11:1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.
11:2 さて、ヨハネはキリストのみわざについて伝え聞き、自分の弟子たちをつかわして、
11:2 Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,
11:3 イエスに言わせた、「『きたるべきかた』はあなたなのですか。それとも、ほかにだれかを待つべきなのでしょうか」。
11:3 And said unto him, Are you he that should come, or do we look for another?
11:4 イエスは答えて言われた、「行って、あなたが見聞きしていることをヨハネに報告しなさい。
11:4 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and show John again those things which all of you do hear and see:
11:5 盲人は見え、足なえは歩き、らい病人はきよまり、耳しいは聞こえ、死人は生きかえり、貧しい人々は福音を聞かされている。
11:5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
11:6 わたしにつまづかない者は、さいわいである」。
11:6 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
11:7 彼らが帰ってしまうと、イエスはヨハネのことを群衆に語りはじめられた、「あなたがたは、何を見に荒野に出てきたのか。風に揺らぐ葦であるか。
11:7 And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went all of you out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
11:8 では、何を見に出てきたのか。柔らかい着物をまとった人か。柔らかい着物をまとった人々なら、王の家にいる。
11:8 But what went all of you out in order to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings' houses.
11:9 では、なんのために出てきたのか。預言者を見るためか。そうだ、あなたがたに言うが、預言者以上の者である。
11:9 But what went all of you out in order to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.
11:10 『見よ、わたしは使いをあなたの先につかわし、あなたの前に、道を整えさせるであろう』と書いてあるのは、この人のことである。
11:10 For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before your face, which shall prepare your way before you.
11:11 あなたがたによく行っておく。女の産んだ者の中で、バプテスマのヨハネより大きい人物は起こらなかった。しかし、天国で最も小さい者も、彼より大きい。
11:11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there has not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
11:12 バプテスマのヨハネの時から今に至るまで、天国は激しく襲われている。そして激しく襲う者たちがそれを奪い取っている。
11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.
11:13 すべての預言者と律法とが予言したのは、ヨハネの時までである。
11:13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
11:14 そして、もしあなたがたが受けいれることを望めば、この人こそは、きたるべきエリヤなのである。
11:14 And if all of you will receive it, this is Elijah, which was in order to come.
11:15 耳のある者は聞くがよい。
11:15 He that has ears to hear, let him hear.
11:16 今の時代を何に比べようか。それは子供たちが広場にすわって、ほかの子供たちに呼びかけ、
11:16 But unto which shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,
11:17 『わたしたちが笛を吹いたのに、あなただちは踊ってくれなかった。弔いの歌を歌ったのに、胸を打ってくれなかった』と言うのに似ている。
11:17 And saying, We have piped unto you, and all of you have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and all of you have not lamented.
11:18 なぜなら、ヨハネがきて、食べることも、飲むこともしないと、あれは悪霊につかれているのだ、と言い、
11:18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a devil.
11:19 また人の子がきて、食べたり飲んだりしていると、みよ、あれは食をむさぼる者、大酒を飲む者、また取税人、罪人の仲間だ、と言う。しかし、知恵の正しいことは、その働きが証明する」。
11:19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a wine indulger, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.
11:20 それからイエスは、数々の力あるわざがなされたのに、悔い改めをしなかった町々を、責めはじめられた。
11:20 Then began he to reproach the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:
11:21 「わざわいだ、コラジンよ。わざわいだ、ベツサイダよ。おまえたちのうちで、なされた力あるわざが、もしツロとシドンでなされたなら、彼らはとうの昔に、荒布をまとい灰をかぶって、悔い改めたであろう。
11:21 Woe unto you, Chorazin! woe unto you, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
11:22 しかし、おまえたちに言っておく。さばきの日には、ツロとシドンの方がおまえたちよりも、耐えやすいであろう。
11:22 But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.
11:23 ああ、カペナウムよ、おまえは天にまで上げられようとでもいうのか、黄泉にまで落とされるであろう。おまえの中でなされた力あるわざが、もしソドムでなされたなら、その町は今日まで残っていたであろう。
11:23 And you, Capernaum, which are exalted unto heaven, shall be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in you, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
11:24 しかし、あなたがたに言う、さばきの日には、ソドムの地の方がおまえたちよりは耐えやすいでであろう」。
11:24 But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for you.
11:25 そのときイエスは声をあげて言われた、「天の主なる父よ。あなたをほめたたえます。これらの事を知恵のある者や賢い者に隠して、幼な子にあらわしてくださいました。
11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hid these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them unto babes.
11:26 父よ、これはまことにみこころにかなった事でした。
11:26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in your sight.
11:27 すべての事は父からわたしに任せられています。そして、子を知る者は父のほかになく、父を知る者は、子と、父をあらわそうとして子が選んだ者とのほかに、だれもありません。
11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knows the Son, but the Father; neither knows any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
11:28 すべて重荷を負うて苦労している者は、わたしのもとにきなさい。あなたがたを休ませてあげよう。
11:28 Come unto me, all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
11:29 わたしは柔和で心のへりくだった者であるから、わたしのくびきを負うて、わたしに学びなさい。そうすれば、あなたがたの魂に休みが与えられるであろう。
11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and all of you shall find rest unto your souls.
11:30 わたしのくびきは負いやすく、わたしの荷は軽いからである」。
11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
12:1 そのころ、ある安息日に、イエスは麦畑の中を通られた。すると弟子達は、空腹であったので、穂を摘んで食べはじめた。
12:1 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungered, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat.
12:2 パリサイ人たちがこれを見て、イエスに言った、「ごらんなさい、あなたの弟子達が、安息日にしてはならないこしをしています」。
12:2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, your disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.
12:3 そこでイエスは彼らに言われた、「あなたがたは、ダビデとその共の者たちが飢えたとき、ダビデが何をしたか読んだことがないのか。
12:3 But he said unto them, Have all of you not read what David did, when he was an hungered, and they that were with him;
12:4 すなわち、神の家にはいって、祭司たちのほか、自分の共の者たちも食べてはならぬ供えのパンを食べたのである。
12:4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the showbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
12:5 また、安息日に宮仕えをしている祭司たちは安息日を破っても罪にならないことを、律法で読んだことがないのか。
12:5 Or have all of you not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
12:6 あなたがたに言っておく。宮よりも大いなる者がここにいる。
12:6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
12:7 『わたしが好むのは、あわれみであって、いけにえではない。』とはどういう意味か知っていたなら、あなたがたの罪のない者をとがめなかったであろう。
12:7 But if all of you had known what this means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, all of you would not have condemned the guiltless.
12:8 人の子は安息日の主である。」
12:8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
12:9 イエスはそこを去って、彼らの会堂にはいられた。
12:9 And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:
12:10 すると、そのとき、片手のなえた人がいた。人々はイエスに訴えようと思って、「安息日に人をいやしても、さしつかえないか」と尋ねた。
12:10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
12:11 イエスは彼らに言われた、「あなたがたのうちに、一匹の羊を持っている人があるとしても、もしそれが安息日に穴に落ちこんだなら、手をかけて引き上げてやらないだろうか。
12:11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
12:12 人は羊よりも、はるかにすぐれているではないか。だから、安息日に良いことをするのは、正しいことである」。
12:12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
12:13 そしてイエスはその人に、「手を伸ばしなさい」と言われた。そこで手を伸ばすと、ほかの手のように良くなった。
12:13 Then says he to the man, Stretch forth yours hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like the other.
12:14 パリサイ人たちは出て言って、なんとかしてイエスを殺そうと相談した。
12:14 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.
12:15 イエスはこれを知って、そこを去って行かれた。ところが多くの人々がついてきたので、彼らを皆いやし、
12:15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;
12:16 そして自分のことを人々にあらわさないようにと、彼らに戒められた。
12:16 And charged them that they should not make him known:
12:17 これは預言者イザヤの言った言葉が、成就するためである、
12:17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying,
12:18 「見よ、わたしが選んだ僕、わたしの心にかなう、愛する者。わたしは彼にわたしの霊を授け、そして彼は正義を異邦人に宣べ伝えるであろう。
12:18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit (o. pneuma) upon him, and he shall show judgment to the Gentiles.
12:19 彼は争わず、叫ばず、またその声を大路で聞く者はない。
12:19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
12:20 彼が正義に勝ちを得させる時まで、いためられた葦をおることがなく、煙っている燈心を消すこともない。
12:20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
12:21 異邦人は彼の名に望みを置くであろう」。
12:21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
12:22 そのとき、人々が悪霊につかれた盲人のおしを連れてきたので、イエスは彼をいやして、物を言い、また目が見えるようにされた。
12:22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spoke and saw.
12:23 すると群衆はみな驚いて言った、「この人が、あるいはダビデの子ではあるまいか」。
12:23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
12:24 しかし、パリサイ人たちは、これを聞いて言った、「この人が悪霊を追い出しているのは、まったく悪霊のかしらベルゼブルによるのだ」。
12:24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow does not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
12:25 イエスは彼らの思いを見抜いて言われた、「おおよそ、内部で分かれ争う国は自滅し、内で分かれ争う町や家は立ち行かない。
12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
12:26 もしサタンがサタンを追い出すならば、それは内わで分かれ争うことになる。それでは、その国はどうして立ち行けよう。
12:26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
12:27 もしわたしがベルゼブルによって悪霊を追い出すとすれば、あなたがたの仲間はだれによって追い出すのであろうか。だから、彼らがあなたがたをさばく者となるであろう。
12:27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
12:28 しかし、わたしが神の霊によって悪霊を追い出しているのなら、神の国はすでにあなたがたのところにきたのである。
12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit (o. pneuma) of God, then the kingdom of God has come unto you.
12:29 まただれでも、まず強い人を縛りあげなれれば、どうして、その人の家に押し入って家財を奪い取ることができようか。縛ってから、はじめてその家を掠奪することができる。
12:29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.
12:30 わたしの味方ではない者は、わたしに反対するものであり、わたしと共に集めない者は、散らす者である。
12:30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathers not with me scatters abroad.
12:31 だから、あなたがたに言っておく。人には、その犯すすべての罪も神を汚す言葉も、ゆるされる。しかし、聖霊を汚す言葉は、やるされることはない。
12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (o. pneuma) shall not be forgiven unto men.
12:32 また人の子に対して言い逆らう者は、ゆるされるであろう。しかし、聖霊に対して言い逆らう者は、この世でも、きたるべき世でも、ゆるされることはない。
12:32 And whosoever speaks a word (o. logos) against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, (o. pneuma) it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
12:33 木が良ければ、その実も良いとし、木が悪ければ、その実も悪いとせよ。木はその実でわかるからである。
12:33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
12:34 まむしの子らよ。あなたがたは悪い者であるのに、どうして良いことを語ることができようか。おおよそ、心からあふれることを、口が語るものである。
12:34 O generation of vipers, how can all of you, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
12:35 善人はよい倉から良い物を取りだし、悪人は悪い倉から悪い物を取り出す。
12:35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.
12:36 あなたがたに言うが、審判の日には、人はその語る無益な言葉に対して、言い開きをしなければならないであろう。
12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word (o. rhema) that men shall speak, they shall give account (o. logos) thereof in the day of judgment.
12:37 あなたは、自分の言葉によって正しいとされ、自分の言葉によって罪ありとされるからである」。
12:37 For by your words (o. logos) you shall be justified, and by your words (o. logos) you shall be condemned.
12:38 そのとき、律法学者、パリサイ人のうちのある人々がイエスにむかって言った、「先生、わたしたちはあなたから、しるしを見せていただきとうございます」。
12:38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from you.
12:39 すると、彼らに答えて言われた、「邪悪で不義な時代は、しるしを求める。しかし、預言者ヨナのしるしのほかには、なんのしるしも与えられていないであろう。
12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
12:40 すなわち、ヨナが三日三晩、大魚の腹の中にいたように、人の子も三日三晩、地の中にいるであろう。ニネベの人々が、今の時代の人々と共にさばきの場に立って、彼らを罪に定めるであろう。なぜなら、
12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
12:41 ニネベの人々はヨナの宣教によって悔い改めたからである。しかし見よ、ヨナにまさる者がここにいる。
12:41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
12:42 南の女王が、今の時代の人々と共にさばきの場に立って、彼らを罪に定めるであろう。なぜなら、彼女は、ソロモンにまさる者がここにいる。
12:42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
12:43 汚れた霊が人から出ると、休み場を求めて水の無い所を歩きまわるが、見つからない。
12:43 When the unclean spirit (o. pneuma) is gone out of a man, he walks through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none.
12:44 そこで、出てきた元の家に帰ろうと言って帰って見ると、その家はあいていて、そうじがしてある上、飾りつけがしてあった。
12:44 Then he says, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he has come, he finds it empty, swept, and garnished.
12:45 そこでまた出て行って、自分以上に悪い他の七つの霊を一緒に引き連れてきて中にはいり、そこに住み込む。そうすると、その人ののちの状態は初めよりももっと悪くなるのである。よこしまな今の時代も、このようになるであろう」。
12:45 Then goes he, and takes with himself seven other spirits (o. pneuma) more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
12:46 イエスがまた群衆に話しておられるとき、その母と兄弟たちとが、イエスに話そうと思って外に立っていた。
12:46 While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.
12:47 それで、ある人がイエスに言った、「ごらんなさい。あなたの母上と兄弟がたが、あなたに話そうと思って、外に立っておられます」。
12:47 Then one said unto him, Behold, your mother and your brethren stand without, desiring to speak with you.
12:48 イエスは知らせてくれた者に答えて言われた、「わたしの母とは、だれのことか。わたしの兄弟とは、だれのことか」。
12:48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
12:49 そして、弟子たちの方に手をさし伸べて言われた、「ごらんなさい。ここにわたしの母、わたしの兄弟がいる。
12:49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
12:50 天にいますわたしの父のみこころを行う者はだれでも、わたしの兄弟、また姉妹、また母なのである」。
12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

13:1 その日、イエスは家を出て、海べにすわっておられた。
13:1 The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
13:2 ところが、大勢の群衆がみもとに集まったので、イエスは船に乗ってすわられ、群衆はみな岸に立っていた。
13:2 And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
13:3 イエスは譬で多くの事を語り、こう言われた、「見よ、種まきが種をまきに出て行った。
13:3 And he spoke many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
13:4 まいているうちに、道ばたに落ちた種があった。すると鳥がきて食べてしまった。
13:4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
13:5 ほかの種は土が薄い石地に落ちた。そこは土が深くないので、すぐ芽を出したが、
13:5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
13:6 日が上ると焼けて、根ががないため枯れてしまった。
13:6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
13:7 ほかの種はいばらの地に落ちた。すると、いばらが伸びて、ふさいでしまった。
13:7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
13:8 ほかの種はよい地に落ちて実を結び、あるものは百倍、あるものは六十倍、あるものは三十倍にもなった。
13:8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
13:9 耳のある者は聞くがよい」。
13:9 Who has ears to hear, let him hear.
13:10 それから、弟子たちがイエスに近寄ってきて言った、「なぜ、彼らに譬でお話しになるのですか。
13:10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speak you unto them in parables?
13:11 そこでイエスは答えて言われた、「あなたがたには、天国の奥義を知ることが許されているが、彼らには許されていない。
13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
13:12 おおよそ、持っている人は与えられて、いよいよ豊かになるが、持っていない人は、持っているものまで取り上げられるであろう。
13:12 For whosoever has, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever has not, from him shall be taken away even that he has.
13:13 だから、彼らに譬で語るのである。それから彼らが、見ても見ず、聞いても聞かず、きた悟らないからである。
13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
13:14 こうしてイザヤの言った預言が、彼らの上に成就したのである。『あなたがたは聞くには聞くが、決して悟らない。見るには見るが、決して認めない。
13:14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which says, By hearing all of you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing all of you shall see, and shall not perceive:
13:15 この民の心は鈍くなり、その耳は聞こえにくく、その目は閉じている。それは、彼らが目で見ず、耳で聞かず、心で悟らず、悔い改めていやされることがないからである』。
13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
13:16 しかし、あなたがたの目はみており、耳は聞いているから、さいわいである。
13:16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
13:17 あなたがたによく言っておく。多くの預言者や義人は、あなたがたの見ていることを見ようと熱心に願ったが、見ることができず、またあなたがたの聞いていることを聞こうとしたが、聞けなかったのである。
13:17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which all of you see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which all of you hear, and have not heard them.
13:18 そこで、種まきの譬を聞きなさい。
13:18 Hear all of you therefore the parable of the sower.
13:19 だれでも御国の言葉を聞いて悟らないならば、悪い者がきて、その人の心にまかれたものを奪いとって行く。道ばたにまかれたものというのは、そういう人のことである。
13:19 When any one hears the word (o. logos) of the kingdom, and understands it not, then comes the wicked one, and catches away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
13:20 石地にまかれたものというのは、御言を聞くと、すくによろこんで受ける人のことである。
13:20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that hears the word, (o. logos) and soon with joy receives it;
13:21 その中に根がないので、しばらく続くだけであって、御言のために困難や迫害が起こってくると、すぐつまずいてしまう。
13:21 Yet has he not root in himself, but endures for a while: for when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, (o. logos) by and by he is offended.
13:22 また、いばらの中にまかれたものとは、御言を聞くが、世の心づかいと富の惑わしとが御言をふさぐので、実を結ばなくなる人のことである。
13:22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that hears the word; (o. logos) and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, (o. logos) and he becomes unfruitful.
13:23 また、よい地にまかれたものとは、御言を聞いて悟る人のことであって、そういう人が実を結び、百倍、あるいは六十倍、あるいは三十倍にもなるのである」。
13:23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that hears the word, (o. logos) and understands it; which also bears fruit, and brings forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
13:24 また、ほかの譬を彼らに示して言われた、「天国は、良い種を自分の畑にまいておいた人のようなものである。
13:24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
13:25 人々が眠っている間に適がきて、麦の中に毒麦をまいて立ち去った。
13:25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
13:26 芽がはえ出て実を結ぶと、同時に毒麦もあらわれてきた。
13:26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
13:27 僕たちがきて、家の主人に言った、『ご主人様、畑におまきになったのは、よい種ではありませんでしたか。どうして毒麦がはえてきたのでしょうか』。
13:27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, did not you sow good seed in your field? from whence then has it tares?
13:28 主人は言った、『それは適のしわざだ』。すると僕たちが言った『では行って、それを抜き集めましょうか』。
13:28 He said unto them, An enemy has done this. The servants said unto him, Will you then that we go and gather them up?
13:29 彼は言った、『いや、毒麦を集めようとして、麦も一緒に抜くかも知れない。
13:29 But he said, Nay; lest while all of you gather up the tares, all of you root up also the wheat with them.
13:30 収穫の時になったら、刈る者に、まず毒麦を集めて束にして焼き、麦の方は集めて倉にいれてくれ、と言いつけよう』」。
13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather all of you together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
13:31 また、ほかの譬を彼らに示して言われた、「天国は、一粒のからし種のようなものである。ある人がそれをとって畑にまくと、
13:31 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:
13:32 それはどんな種よりも小さいが、成長すると、野菜の中でいちばん大きくなり、空の鳥がきて、その枝に宿るほどの木になる」。
13:32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.
13:33 またほかの譬を彼らに語られた、「天国は、パン種のようなものである。女がそれを取って三斗の粉の中に混ぜると、全体がふくらんでくる」。
13:33 Another parable spoke he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
13:34 イエスはこれらのことをすべて、譬で群衆に語られた。譬によらないでは何事も彼らに語られなかった。
13:34 All these things spoke Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spoke he not unto them:
13:35 これは預言者によって言われたことが、成就するためである。「わたしは口を開いて譬を語り、世の初めから隠されていいることを語り出そう」。
13:35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.
13:36 それからイエスは、群衆をあとに残して家にはいられた。すると弟子たちは、みもとにきて言った、「畑の毒麦の譬を説明してください」。
13:36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
13:37 イエスは答えて言われた、「良い種をまく者は、人の子である。
13:37 He answered and said unto them, He that sows the good seed is the Son of man;
13:38 畑は世界である。よい種と言うのは御国の子たちで、毒麦は悪い者の子たちである。
13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
13:39 それをまいた敵は悪魔である。収穫とは世の終わりのことで、刈る者は御使いたちでである。
13:39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
13:40 だから、毒麦が集められて火で焼かれるように、世の終わりにもそのとおりになるであろう。
13:40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
13:41 人の子はその使いたちをつかわし、つまずきとなるものと不法を行う者とを、ことごとく御国からとり集めて、
13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
13:42 炉の火に投げ入れさせるであろう。そこでは泣き叫んだり、歯がみをしたりするであろう。
13:42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
13:43 そのとき、義人たちは彼らの父の御国で、太陽のように輝きわたるであろう。耳のある者は聞くがよい。
13:43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who has ears to hear, let him hear.
13:44 天国は、畑に隠してある宝のようなものである。人がそれを見つけると隠しておき、喜びのあまり、行って持ち物をみな売りはらい、そしてその畑を買うのである。
13:44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man has found, he hides, and for joy thereof goes and sells all that he has, and buys that field.
13:45 また、天国は、良い真珠を捜している商人のようなものである。
13:45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
13:46 高価な真珠一個見いだすと、行って持ち物をみな売りはらい、そしてこれを買うのである。
13:46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
13:47 また天国は、海におろして、あらゆる種類の魚を囲みいれる網のようなものである。
13:47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:
13:48 それがいっぱいになると岸に引き上げ、そしてすわって、良いのを器に入れ、悪いのを外へ捨てるのである。
13:48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.
13:49 世の終わりにも、そのとおりになるであろう。すなわち、御使いたちがきて、義人のうちから悪人をえり分け、
13:49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,
13:50 そして炉の中へなげこむであろう。そこでは泣き叫んだり、歯がみをしたりするであろう。
13:50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
13:51 あなたがたは、これらのことが皆わかったか」。彼らは「わかりました」と答えた。
13:51 Jesus says unto them, Have all of you understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord.
13:52 そこで、イエスは彼らに言われた、「それだから、天国のことを学んだ学者は、新しいものと古いものとを、その倉から取り出す一家の主人のようなものである」。
13:52 Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which brings forth out of his treasure things new and old.
13:53 イエスはこれらの譬を語り終えてから、そこを立ち去られた。
13:53 And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence.
13:54 そして郷里に行き、会堂で人々に教えられたところ、彼らは驚いて言った、「この人は、知恵とこれらの力あるわざとを、どこで習ってきたのか。
13:54 And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence has this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?
13:55 この人は大工の子ではないか。母はマリヤといい、兄弟たちは、ヤコブ、ヨセフ、シモン、ユダではないか。
13:55 Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
13:56 またその姉妹たちもみな、わたしたちと一緒にいるではないか。こんな数々のことを、いったい、どこで習ってきたのか」。
13:56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then has this man all these things?
13:57 こうして人々はイエスにつまずいた。しかし、イエスは言われた、「預言者は、自分の郷里や自分の家以外では、どこででも敬われないことはない」。
13:57 And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.
13:58 そして彼らの不信仰のゆえに、そこでは力あるわざを、あまりなさらなかった。
13:58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
14:1 そのころ、領主ヘロデはイエスのうわさを聞いて。
14:1 At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus,
14:2 家来に言った、「あれはバプテスマのヨハネだ。死人の中からよみがえったのだ。それで、あのような力が彼のうちに働いているのだ」。
14:2 And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he has risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do show forth themselves in him.
14:3 というのは、ヘロデは先に、自分の兄弟ピリポの妻ヘロデヤのことで、ヨハネを捕らえて縛り、獄に入れていた。
14:3 For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife.
14:4 すなわち、ヨハネはヘロデに、「その女をめとるのは、よろしくない」、と言ったからである。
14:4 For John said unto him, It is not lawful for you to have her.
14:5 そこでヘロデはヨハネを殺そうと思ったが、群衆を恐れた。彼がヨハネを預言者と認めていたからである。
14:5 And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.
14:6 さてヘロデの誕生日の祝に、ヘロデヤの娘がその席上で舞いヘロデを喜ばせたので、
14:6 But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod.
14:7 彼女の願うものは、なんでも与えようと、彼は誓って約束までした。
14:7 Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask.
14:8 すると彼女は母にそそのかされて、「バプテスマのヨハネの首を盆に載せて、ここに持ってきていただきとうございます」と言った。
14:8 And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist's head in a charger.
14:9 王は困ったが、それを与えるように命じて、
14:9 And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at food, he commanded it to be given her.
14:10 人をつかわして、獄中でヨハネの首を切らせた。
14:10 And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison.
14:11 その首は盆に載せて運ばれ、少女にわたされ、少女はそれをははのところに持って行った。
14:11 And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother.
14:12 それから、ヨハネの弟子たちがきて、死体を引き取って葬った。そして、イエスのところに行って報告した。
14:12 And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus.
14:13 イエスはこのことを聞くと、船に乗ってそこを去り、自分ひとりで寂しい所へ行かれた。しかし、群衆はそれを聞いて、町々から徒歩であとを追ってきた。
14:13 When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.
14:14 イエスは船から上がって、大ぜいの群衆をごらんになり、彼らを深くあわれんで、そのうちの病人たちをおいやしになった。
14:14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.
14:15 夕方になったので、弟子たちがイエスのもとにきて言った、「ここは寂しい所でもあり、もう時もおそくなりました。群衆を解散させ、めいめいで食物をかいに、村々へ行かせてください」。
14:15 And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.
14:16 するとイエスは言われた、「彼らが出かけて行くには及ばない。あなたがたの手で食物をやりなさい」。
14:16 But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give all of you them to eat.
14:17 弟子たちは言った、「わたしたちはここに、パン五つと魚二ひきしか持っていません」。
14:17 And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.
14:18 イエスは言われた、「それをここに持ってきなさい」。
14:18 He said, Bring them here to me.
14:19 そして群衆に命じて、草の上にすわらせ、五つのパンと二ひきの魚とを手に取り、天を仰いでそれを祝福し、パンをさいて弟子たちに渡された。弟子たちはそれを群衆に与えた。
14:19 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
14:20 みんなの者は食べて満腹した。パンくずの残りを集めると、十二のかごにいっぱいになった。
14:20 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.
14:21 食べた者は、女と子どもとを除いて、おおよそ五千人であった。
14:21 And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.
14:22 それからすぐ、イエスは群衆を解散させておられる間に、しいて弟子たちを船に乗り込ませ、向こう岸へ先におやりになった。
14:22 And immediately Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
14:23 そして群衆を解散させてから、祈るためにひそかに山へ登られた。夕方になっても、ただひとりそこにおられた。
14:23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
14:24 ところが船は、もうすでに陸から数丁も離れており、逆風が吹いていたために、波に悩まされていた。
14:24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.
14:25 イエスは夜明けの四時ごろ、海の上を歩いて彼らの方へ行かれた。
14:25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
14:26 弟子たちは、イエスが海の上を歩いておられるのを見て、幽霊だと言っておじ惑い、恐怖のあまり叫び声をあげた。
14:26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
14:27 しかし、イエスはすぐに彼らに声をかけて、「しっかりするのだ、わたしである。恐れることはない」と言われた。
14:27 But immediately Jesus spoke unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
14:28 するとペテロが答えて言った、「主よ、あなたでしたか。では、わたしに命じて、水の上を渡ってみもとに行かせてください」。
14:28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be you, bid me come unto you on the water.
14:29 イエスは、「おいでなさい」と言われたので、ペテロは船からおり、水の上を歩いてイエスのところへ行った。
14:29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
14:30 しかし、風を見て恐ろしくなり、そしておぼれかけたので、彼は叫んで、「主よ、お助けください」と言った。
14:30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
14:31 イエスはすぐに手を伸ばし、彼をつかまえて言われた、「信仰の薄い者よ、なぜ疑ったのか」。
14:31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O you of little faith, wherefore did you doubt?
14:32 ふたりが船に乗り込むと、風はやんでしまった。
14:32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
14:33 船の中にいた者たちはイエスを拝して、「ほんとうに、あなたは神の子です」と言った。
14:33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Truthfully you are the Son of God.
14:34 それから、彼らは海を渡ってゲネサレの地に着いた。
14:34 And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.
14:35 するとその土地の人々はイエスと知って、その付近全体に人をつかわし、イエスのところに病人をみな連れてこさせた。
14:35 And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;
14:36 そして彼らにイエスの上着のふさにでも、さわらせてやっていただきたいとお願いした。そしてさわった者はみないやされた。
14:36 And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.
15:1 ときに、パリサイ人と律法学者たちとが、エルサレムからイエスのもとにきて言った、
15:1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
15:2 「あなたの弟子たちは、なぜ昔の人々の言伝えを破るのですか。彼らは食事の時に手を洗っていません」。
15:2 Why do your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
15:3 イエスは、答えて言われた、「なぜ、あなたがたも自分たちの言い伝えによって、神のいましめを破っているのか。
15:3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do all of you also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
15:4 神は、言われた、『父と母を敬え』、また『父または母をののしる者は、必ず死に定められる』と。
15:4 For God commanded, saying, Honour your father and mother: and, He that curses father or mother, let him die the death.
15:5 それだのに、あなたがたは『だれでも父または母に向かって、あなたにさしあげるはずのこのものは供え物です、と言えば、
15:5 But all of you say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever you might be profited by me;
15:6 父または母を敬わなくてもよろしい』と言っている。こうしてあなたがたは自分たちの言伝えによって、神の言葉を無にしている。
15:6 And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have all of you made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.
15:7 偽善者たちよ、イザヤがあなたがたについて、こうこう適切な予言をしている、
15:7 All of you hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
15:8 『この民は、口さきでわたしを敬うが、その心はわたしから遠く離れている。
15:8 This people draws nigh unto me with their mouth, and honors me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
15:9 人間のいましめを教えとして教え、無意味にわたしを拝んでいる』」。
15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
15:10 それから、イエスは群衆を呼び寄せて言われた。「聞いて悟がよい。
15:10 And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
15:11 口にはいるものは人を汚すことはない。かえって、口から出るものが人を汚す物である」。
15:11 Not that which goes into the mouth defiles a man; but that which comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.
15:12 そのとき、弟子たちが近寄ってきてイエスに言った、「パリサイ人たちが御言葉を聞いてつまずいたことを、ご存知ですか」。
15:12 Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Know you that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying? (o. logos)
15:13 イエスは答えて言われた、「わたしの天の父がお植えにならなかったものは、みな抜き取られるであろう。
15:13 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father has not planted, shall be rooted up.
15:14 彼らをそのままにしておけ。彼らは盲人を手引きする盲人である。もし盲人が盲人を手引きするなら、ふたりとも穴に落ち込むであろう」。
15:14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
15:15 ペテロが答えて言った、「その譬を説明してください」。
15:15 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.
15:16 イエスは言われた、「あなたがたも、まだわからないのか。
15:16 And Jesus said, Are all of you also yet without understanding?
15:17 口にはいってくるものは、みな腹の中にはいり、そして、外に出ていくことを知らないのか、
15:17 Do not all of you yet understand, that whatsoever enters in at the mouth goes into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
15:18 しかし、口から出て行くものは、心の中から出てくるものであって、それが汚すのである。
15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
15:19 というのは、悪い思い、すなわち、殺人、姦淫、不品行、盗み、偽証、誂りは、心の中から出てくるものであって、
15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
15:20 これらのものが人を汚すのである。しかし、洗わない手で食事することは、人を汚すのではない」。
15:20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashed hands defiles not a man.
15:21 さて、イエスはそこを出て、ツロとシドンとの地方へ行かれた。
15:21 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
15:22 すると、そこへ、その地方出のカナンの女が出てきて、「主よ、ダビデの子よ、わたしをあわれんでください。娘が悪霊にとりつかれて苦しんでいます」と行って叫びつづけた。
15:22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, you son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
15:23 しかし、イエスはひと言もお答にならなかった。そこで弟子たちがみもとにきて願って言った、「この女を追い払ってください。叫びながらついてきていますから」。
15:23 But he answered her not a word. (o. logos) And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she cries after us.
15:24 するとイエスは答えて言われた、「わたしは、イスラエルの家の失われた羊以外の者には、つかわされていない」。
15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
15:25 しかし、女は近寄りイエスを拝して言った、「主よ、わたしをお助けください」。
15:25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
15:26 イエスは答えて言われた、「子供たちのパンを取って小犬に投げてやるのは、よろしくない」。
15:26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.
15:27 すると、女は言った、「主よ、お言葉どおりです。でも、小犬もその主人の食卓から落ちるパンくずは、いただきます」。
15:27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.
15:28 そこでイエスは答えて言われた、「女よ、あなたの信仰は見あげたものである。あなたの願いどおりになるように」。その時に、娘はいやされた。
15:28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is your faith: be it unto you even as you will. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
15:29 イエスはそこを去って、ガリラヤの海辺べに行き、それから山に登ってそこにすわられた。
15:29 And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.
15:30 すると大ぜいの群衆が、足なえ、不具者、盲人、おし、そのほか多くの人を連れてきて、イエスの足もとに置いたので、彼らをおいやしになった。
15:30 And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, physically disabled, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them:
15:31 群衆は、おしが物を言い、不具者が直り、足なえが歩き、盲人が見えるようになったのを見て驚き、そしてイスラエルの神をほめたたえた。
15:31 Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the physically disabled to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.
15:32 イエスは弟子たちを呼び寄せて言われた、「群衆がかわいそうである。もう三日間もわたしと一緒にいるのに、何も食べるものがない。しかし、彼らを空腹のままで帰らせたくはない。恐らく途中で弱り切ってしまうであろう」。
15:32 Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.
15:33 弟子たちは言った、「荒野の中で、こんな大勢の群衆にじゅうぶん食べさせるほどたくさんのパンを、どこで手に入れましょうか」。
15:33 And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?
15:34 イエスは弟子たちに「パンはいくつあるか」と尋ねられると、「七つあります。また小さい魚が少しあります」と答えた。
15:34 And Jesus says unto them, How many loaves have all of you? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes.
15:35 そこでイエスは群衆に、地にすわるように命じ、
15:35 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground.
15:36 七つのパンと魚をとり、感謝してこれをさき、弟子たちにわたされた、弟子たちはこれを群衆にわけた。
15:36 And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
15:37 一同の者は食べて満腹した。そして残ったパンくずを集めると、七つのかごいっぱいになった。
15:37 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken food that was left seven baskets full.
15:38 食べた者は、女と子供を除いて四千人であった。
15:38 And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children.
15:39 そこでイエスは群衆を解散させ、船に乗ってマガダンの地方へ行かれた。
15:39 And he sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the coasts of Magdala.
16:1 パリサイ人とサドカイ人とが近寄ってきて、
16:1 The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would show them a sign from heaven.
16:2 イエスに試み、天からのしるしを見せてもらいたいと言った。イエスは彼らに言われた、「あなたがたは夕方になると、『空がまっかだから、晴だ』と言い、
16:2 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, all of you say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.
16:3 また明け方には『空が曇ってまっかだから、きょうは荒れだ』と言う。あなたがたは空の模様を見分けることを知りながら、時のしるしを見分けることができないのか。
16:3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O all of you hypocrites, all of you can discern the face of the sky; but can all of you not discern the signs of the times?
16:4 邪悪で不義な時代は、しるしを求めるかしか、ヨナのしるしのほかには、なんのしるしも与えられないであろう」。そいて、イエスは彼らをあとに残して立ち去られた。
16:4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.
16:5 弟子たちが向こう岸に行ったが、パンを持ってくるのを忘れていた。
16:5 And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.
16:6 そこでイエスは言われた、「パリサイ人とサドカイ人とのパン種を、よくよく警戒せよ」。
16:6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
16:7 弟子たちは、これは自分たちがパンを持ってこなかったためであろうと言って、論じ合った。
16:7 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread.
16:8 イエスはそれを知って言われた、「信仰の薄い者たちよ、なぜパンがないからだと互いに論じ合っているのか。
16:8 Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O all of you of little faith, why reason all of you among yourselves, because all of you have brought no bread?
16:9 まだわからないのか。覚えていないのか。五つのパンを五千人に分けたとき、幾かご拾ったのか。
16:9 Do all of you not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets all of you took up?
16:10 また、七つのパンを七千人に分けたとき、幾かご拾ったか。
16:10 Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets all of you took up?
16:11 わたしが言ったのは、パンについてではないことを、どうして悟らないのか。ただ、パリサイ人とサドカイ人とのパン種を警戒しなさい」。
16:11 How is it that all of you do not understand that I spoke it not to you concerning bread, that all of you should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?
16:12 そのとき彼らは、イエスが警戒せよと言われたのは、パン種のことではなく、パリサイ人とサドカイ人との教えのことであると悟った。
16:12 Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
16:13 イエスはピリポ・カイザリヤの地方に行かれたとき、弟子たちに尋ねて言われた、「人々は人の子をだれと言っているのか」。
16:13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
16:14 彼らは言った、「ある人々はバプタスマのヨハネだと言っています。しかし、ほかの人たちは、ユリヤだと言い、また、エレミヤあるいは預言者のひとりだと言っている者もあります」。
16:14 And they said, Some say that you are John the Baptist: some, Elijah; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
16:15 そこでイエスは彼らに言われた、「それでは、あなたがたはわたしをだれと言うのか」。
16:15 He says unto them, But whom say all of you that I am?
16:16 シモン・ペテロが答えて言った、「あなたこそ、生ける神の子キリストです」。
16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
16:17 すると、イエスは彼らにむかって言われた、「バルヨナ・シモン、あなたはさいわいである。あなたにこの事をあらわしたのは、血肉ではなく、天にいますわたしの父である。
16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed are you, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood has not revealed it unto you, but my Father which is in heaven.
16:18 そこで、わたしもあなたに言う。あなたはペテロである。そして、わたしはこの岩の上にわたしの教会を建てよう。黄泉の力もそれに打ち勝つことはない。
16:18 And I say also unto you, That you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
16:19 わたしは、あなたに天国の鍵を授けよう。そして、あなたが地上でつなぐことは、天でもつながれ、あなたが地上で解くことは、天でも解かれるであろう」。
16:19 And I will give unto you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
16:20 そのとき、イエスは、自分がキリストであることをだれにも言ってはいけない、弟子たちを戒められた。
16:20 Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.
16:21 この時から、イエス・キリストは、自分が必ずエルサレムに行き、長老、祭司長、律法学者たちから多くの苦しみを受け、殺され、そして三日目によみがえるべきことを、弟子たちに示しはじめられた。
16:21 From that time forth began Jesus to show unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
16:22 すると、ペテロはイエスをわきへ引き寄せて、いさめはじめ、「主よ、とんでもないことです。そんなことがあるはずございません」、と言った。
16:22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from you, Lord: this shall not be unto you.
16:23 イエスは振り向いて、ペテロに言われた、「サタンよ引きさがれ。わたしの邪魔をする者だ。あなたは神のことを思わないで、人のことを思っている」。
16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get you behind me, Satan: you are an offence unto me: for you savour not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
16:24 それからイエスは弟子たちに言われた、「だれでもわたしについてきたいと思うなら、自分を捨て、自分の十字架を負うて、わたしに従ってきなさい。
16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
16:25 自分の命を救おうと思う者はそれを失い、わたしのために自分の命を失う者は、それを見いだすであろう。
16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
16:26 たとい人が全世界をもうけても、自分の命を損したら、なんの得になろうか。また、人はどんな代価を払って、その命を買いもどすことができようか。
16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
16:27 人の子は父の栄光のうちに、御使たちを従えて来るが、その時には、実際のおこないに応じて、それぞれに報いるであろう。
16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
16:28 よく聞いておくがよい、人の子が御国の力をもって来るのを見るまでは、死を味わわない者が、ここに立っている者の中にいる」。
16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
17:1 六日ののち、イエスはペテロ、ヤコブ、ヤコブの兄弟ヨハネだけを連れて、高い山に登られた。
17:1 And after six days Jesus takes Peter, James, and John his brother, and brings them up into an high mountain apart,
17:2 ところが、彼らの目の前でイエスの姿が変わり、その顔は日のように輝き、その衣は光のように白くなった。
17:2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
17:3 すると、見よ、モーセとエリヤが彼らに現れて、イエスと語り合っていた。
17:3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elijah talking with him.
17:4 ペテロはイエスにむかって言った、「主よ、わたしたちがここにいるのは、すばらしいことです。もし、おさしつかいなければ、わたしはここに小屋を三つ建てましょう。一つはあなたのために、一つはモーセのために、一つはエリヤのために」。
17:4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if you will, let us make here three tabernacles; one for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.
17:5 彼がまだ話し終えないうちに、たちまち、輝く雲が彼らをおおい、そして雲の中から声がした、「これはわたしの愛する子、わたしの心にかなう者である。これに聞け」。
17:5 While he yet spoke, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear all of you him.
17:6 弟子たちはこれを聞いて非常に恐れ、顔を地に伏せた。
17:6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
17:7 イエスは近づいてきて、手を彼らにおいて言われた、「起きなさい、恐れることはない」。
17:7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
17:8 彼らが目をあけると、イエスのほかには、だれも見えなかった。
17:8 And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.
17:9 一同が山を下って来るとき、イエスは「人の子が死人の中からよみがえるまでは、いま見たことをだれにも話してはならない」と、彼らに命じられた。
17:9 And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.
17:10 弟子たちはイエスにお尋ねして言った、「いったい、律法学者たちは、なぜ、エリヤが先に来るはずだと言っているのですか」。
17:10 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elijah must first come?
17:11 答えて言われた、「確かに、エリヤがきて、万事を元どおりに改めるであろう。しかし、あなたがた荷言っておく。エリヤはすでにきたのだ。
17:11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elijah truly shall first come, and restore all things.
17:12 しかし人々は彼を認めず、自分かってに彼をあしらった。人の子もまた、
17:12 But I say unto you, That Elijah has come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
17:13 そのように彼らから苦しみを受けることになろう」。そのとき、弟子たちは、イエスがバプテスマのヨハネのことを言われたのだと悟った。
17:13 Then the disciples understood that he spoke unto them of John the Baptist.
17:14 さて彼らが群衆のところに帰ると、ひとりの人が、イエスに近寄ってきて、ひざまずいて、言った、
17:14 And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying,
17:15 「主よ、わたしの子をあわれんでください。てんかんで苦しんでおります。何度も何度も火の中や水の中に倒れるのです。
17:15 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatic, and sore vexed: for frequently he falls into the fire, and often into the water.
17:16 それで、その子をお弟子さんたちのところに連れてきましたが、なおしていただけませんでした」。
17:16 And I brought him to your disciples, and they could not cure him.
17:17 イエスは答えて言われた、「ああ、なんという不信仰な、曲がった時代であろう。いつまで、わたしはあなたがたと一緒におられようか。いつまであなたがたに我慢ができようか。その子をここに、わたしのところに連れてきなさい」。
17:17 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him here to me.
17:18 イエスはおしかりになると、悪霊はその子から出て行った。そしてその子はその時いやされた。
17:18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
17:19 それから、弟子たちがひそかにイエスのもとにきて言った、「わたしたちは、どうして霊を追い出せなかったのですか」。
17:19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
17:20 するとイエスは言われた、「あなたがたの信仰が足りないからである。よく言い聞かせておくが、もし、からし種一粒ほどの信仰があるなら、この山に向かって『ここからあそこに移れ』と言えば、移るであろう。このように、あなたがたにできない事は、何もないであろう。
17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If all of you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, all of you shall say unto this mountain, Remove behind to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
17:21 〔しかし、このたぐいは、祈りと断食とによらなければ、追い出すことはできない〕」。
17:21 Nevertheless this kind goes not out but by prayer and fasting.
17:22 彼らがガリラヤで集まっていた時、イエスは言われた、「人の子は人々の手にわたされ、
17:22 And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men:
17:23 彼らに殺され、そして三日目によみがえるであろう」。弟子たちは非常に心をいためた。
17:23 And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.
17:24 彼らがカペナウムにきたとき、宮の納入金を集める人たちがペテロのところにきて言った、「あなたがたの先生は宮の納入金を納めないのか」。
17:24 And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Does not your master pay tribute?
17:25 ペテロは「納めておられます」と言った。そして彼がいえにはいると、イエスからさきに話しかけて言われた、「シモン、あなたはどう思うか。この世の王たちは税や貢をだれから取るのか。自分の子からか、それとも、ほかの人たちからか」。
17:25 He says, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What think you, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?
17:26 ペテロが「ほかの人たちからです」と答えると、イエスは言われた、「それでは、子は納めなくてもよいわけである。
17:26 Peter says unto him, Of strangers. Jesus says unto him, Then are the children free.
17:27 しかし、彼らをつまずかせないために、海に行って、つり針をたれなさい。そして最初につれた魚をとって、その口をあけると、金貨一枚が見つかるであろう。それをとり出して、わたしとあなたのために納めなさい」。
17:27 Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go you to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first comes up; and when you have opened his mouth, you shall find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and you.
18:1 そのとき、弟子たちがイエスのもとにきて言った、「いったい、天国はだれがいちばん偉いのですか」。
18:1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
18:2 すると、イエスは幼な子を呼び寄せ、彼らのまん中に立たせて言われた、
18:2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
18:3 「よく聞きなさい。心をいれかえて幼な子のようにならなければ、天国にはいることはできないであろう。
18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except all of you be converted, and become as little children, all of you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
18:4 この幼な子のように自分を低くする者が、天国ではいちばん偉いのである。
18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
18:5 また、だれでも、このようなひとりの幼な子を、わたしの名ゆえに受けいれの者は、わたしを受けいれるのである。
18:5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receives me.
18:6 しかし、わたしを信ずるこれらの小さい者ひとりをつまずかせる者は、大きなひきうすを首にかけられて海の深みに沈められる方が、その人の益になる。
18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
18:7 この世は、罪の誘惑があるから、わざわいである。罪の誘惑は必ず来る。しかし、それをきたらせる人は、わざわいである。
18:7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must essentially be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence comes!
18:8 もしあなたの片手または片足が、罪を犯させるなら、それを切って捨てなさい。両手、両足がそろったままで、永遠の火に投げ込まれるよりは、片手、片足になって命に入る方がよい。
18:8 Wherefore if your hand or your foot offend you, cut them off, and cast them from you: it is better for you to enter into life halt or physically disabled, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
18:9 もしあなたの片目が罪を犯させるなら、それを抜き出して捨てなさい。両眼がそろったままで地獄の火に投げ込まれるよりは、片目になって命に入る方がよい。
18:9 And if yours eye offend you, pluck it out, and cast it from you: it is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.
18:10 あなたがたは、これらの小さい者ひとりも軽んじないように、気をつけなさい。あなたがたに言うが、彼らの御使たちは天にあって、天にいますわたしの父のみ顔をいつも仰いでいるのである。
18:10 Take heed that all of you despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
18:11 〔人の子は、滅びる者を救うためにきたのである。〕
18:11 For the Son of man has come to save that which was lost.
18:12 あなたがたはどう思うか。ある人に百匹の羊があり、その中の一匹が迷い出たとすれば、九十九匹を山に残しておいて、その迷い出ている羊を探しに出かけないであろうか。
18:12 How think all of you? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, does he not leave the ninety and nine, and goes into the mountains, and seeks that which is gone astray?
18:13 もしそれを見つけたなら、よく聞きなさい、迷わないでいる九十九匹のためよりも、むしろその一匹のために喜ぶであろう。
18:13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoices more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
18:14 そのように、これらの小さい者のひとりが滅びることは、天にいますあなたがたの父のみこころではない。
18:14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
18:15 もしあなたの兄弟が罪を犯すなら、行って、彼とふたりだけの所で忠告しなさい。もし聞いてくれたら、あなたの兄弟を得たことになる。
18:15 Moreover if your brother shall trespass against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone: if he shall hear you, you have gained your brother.
18:16 もし聞いてくれないなら、ほかにひとりふたりを、一緒に連れて行きなさい。それは、ふたりまたは三人の証人の口によって、すべてのことがらが確かめられるためである。
18:16 But if he will not hear you, then take with you one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word (o. rhema) may be established.
18:17 もし彼らの言うことを聞かないなら、教会に申し出なさい。もし教会の言うことも聞かないなら、その人を異邦人または取税人同様に扱いなさい。
18:17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto you as an heathen man and a publican.
18:18 よく言っておく。あなたがたが地上でつなぐことは、天でも皆つながれ、あなたがたが地上で解くことは、天でもみな解かれるであろう。
18:18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever all of you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever all of you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
18:19 また、よく言っておく。もしあなたがたのうちふたりが、どんな願い事についても地上で心を合わせるなら、天にいますわたしの父はそれをかなえて下さるであろう。
18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as concerning any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
18:20 ふたりまたは三人が、わたしの名によって集まっている所には、わたしもその中にいるのである。
18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
18:21 そのとき、ペテロがイエスのもとにきて言った、「主よ、兄弟がわたしに対して罪を犯した場合、幾たびゆるさねばなりませんか。七たびまでですか」。
18:21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
18:22 イエスは彼に言われた、「わたとは七たびまでとは言わない。七たびを七十倍するまでしなさい。
18:22 Jesus says unto him, I say not unto you, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
18:23 それだから、天国は王が僕たちと決算をするようなものだ。
18:23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account (o. logos) of his servants.
18:24 決算が始まると、一万タラントの負債のある者が、王のところに連れられてきた。
18:24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
18:25 しかし、返せなかったので、主人は、その人自身とその妻子と持ち物全部とを売って返すように命じた。
18:25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
18:26 そこで、この僕はひれ伏して哀願した、『ぞうぞお待ちください。全部お返しいたしますから』。
18:26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay you all.
18:27 僕の主人はあわれに思って、彼をゆるし、その負債を免じてやった。
18:27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
18:28 その僕が出て行くと、百デナリを貸しているひとりの仲間に出会い、彼をつかまえ、首をしめて『借金をかえせ』と言った。
18:28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellow servants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that you owe.
18:29 そこてこの仲間はひれ伏し、『どうか待ってくれ。返すから』と言って頼んだ。
18:29 And his fellow servant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay you all.
18:30 しかし承知せずに、その人をひっばって行って、借金を返すまで獄に入れた。
18:30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
18:31 その人の仲間たちは、この様子を見て、非常に心をいため、行ってそのことをのこらず主人にはなした。
18:31 So when his fellow servants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
18:32 そこでこの主人は彼を呼びつけて言った、『悪い僕、わたしは願ったからこそ、あの負債を全部ゆるしてやったのだ。
18:32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O you wicked servant, I forgave you all that debt, because you desired me:
18:33 わたしがあわれんでやったように、あの仲間をあわれんでやるべきではなかったか』。
18:33 Should not you also have had compassion on your fellow servant, even as I had pity on you?
18:34 そして主人は立腹して、負債全部を返してしまうまで、彼を獄吏に引きわたした。
18:34 And his lord was angry, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
18:35 あなたがためいめいも、もし心から兄弟をゆるさないならば、わたしの天の父もまたあなたがたに対して、そのようになさるであろう」。
18:35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if all of you from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
19:1 イエスはこれらのことを語り終えられてから、ガリラヤを去ってヨルダンの向こうのユダヤの地方へ行かれた。
19:1 And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, (o. logos) he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;
19:2 すると大ぜいの群衆がついてきたので、彼らをそこでおいやしになった。
19:2 And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.
19:3 さて、パリサイ人たちが近づいてきて、イエスを試みようとして言った、「何かの理由で、夫がその妻を出すのは、さしつかえないでしょうか」。
19:3 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
19:4 イエスは答えて言われた、「あなたがたはまだ読んだことがないのか。『創造者は初めから人を男と女に造られ、
19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have all of you not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
19:5 そして言われた、それゆえに、人は父母を離れ、その妻と結ばれ、二人のものは一体となるべきである』。
19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they two shall be one flesh?
19:6 彼らはもはや、二人ではなく一体である。だから、神は合わせられたものを、人は離してはならない」。
19:6 Wherefore they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder.
19:7 彼らはイエスに言った、「それでは、なぜモーセは、妻を出す場合には、離縁状を渡せ、と定められたのですか」。
19:7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?
19:8 イエスが言われた、「モーセはあなたがたの心が、かたくななので、妻を出すことを許したのだが、初めからそうではなかった。
19:8 He says unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
19:9 そこでわたしはあなたがたに言う。不品行のゆえでなくて、自分の妻を出して他の女をめとる者は、姦淫を行うものである」。
19:9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, commits adultery: and whoso marries her which is put away does commit adultery.
19:10 弟子たちは言った、「もし妻に対する夫の立場がそうだとすれば、結婚しない方がましです」。
19:10 His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.
19:11 するとイエスは彼らに言われた、「その言葉を受けいれることのできるのはすべての人ではなく、だだそれを授けられている人々だけである。
19:11 But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, (o. logos) save they to whom it is given.
19:12 というのは、母の胎内から独身者に生まれついているものがあり、また天国のために、みずから進んで独身者となったものである。この言葉を受けいれられる者は、受けいれるがよい」。
19:12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.
19:13 そのとき、イエスに手をおいて祈っていただくために、人々が幼な子らをみもとに連れてきた。ところが、弟子たちは彼らをたしなめた。
19:13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
19:14 するとイエスは言われた、「幼な子らをそのままにしておきなさい。わたしのところに来るのをとめてはならない。天国はこのような者の国である」。
19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
19:15 そして手を彼らの上においてから、そこを去って行かれた。
19:15 And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.
19:16 すると、ひとりの人がイエスに近寄ってきて言った。「先生、永遠の生命を得るためにはどんなよいことをしたらいいでしょうか」。
19:16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
19:17 イエスは言われた、「なぜよい事についてわたしに尋ねるのか。よいかたはただひとりだけである。もし命に入りたいと思うなら、いましめを守りなさい」。
19:17 And he said unto him, Why call you me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if you will enter into life, keep the commandments.
19:18 彼は言った、「どのいましめですか」。イエスは言われた、「『殺すな、姦淫するな、盗むな、偽証を立てるな。
19:18 He says unto him, Which? Jesus said, You shall do no murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness,
19:19 父と母とを敬え』。また『自分を愛するように、あなたの隣り人を愛せよ』」。
19:19 Honour your father and your mother: and, You shall love your neighbour as yourself.
19:20 この青年はイエスに言った、「それはみな守ってきました。ほかに何が足りないのでしょう」。
19:20 The young man says unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
19:21 イエスは彼に言った、「もしあなたが完全になりたいと思うなら、帰ってあなたの持ち物を売り払い、貧しい人々に施しなさい。そうすれば、天に宝を持つようになろう。そして、わたしに従ってきなさい」。
19:21 Jesus said unto him, If you will be perfect, go and sell that you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
19:22 この言葉を聞いて、青年は悲しみながら立ち去った。たくさんの資産を持っていたからである。
19:22 But when the young man heard that saying, (o. logos) he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
19:23 それからイエスは弟子たちに言われた、「よく聞きなさい。富んでいる者が天国にはいるのは、むずかしいものである。
19:23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
19:24 また、あなたがたに言うが、「富んでいるものが神の国にはいるよりは、らくだが針の穴を通る方が、もっとやさしい」。
19:24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
19:25 弟子たちはこれを聞いて非常に驚いて言った、「では、だれが救われることができるのだろう」。
19:25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
19:26 イエスは彼らを見つめて言われた、「人にはそれができないが、神にはなんでもできない事はない」。
19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
19:27 そのとき、ペテロがイエスに答えて言った、「ごらんなさい、わたしたちはいっさいを捨てて、あなたに従いました。ついては、何かいただけるのでしょうか」。
19:27 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed you; what shall we have therefore?
19:28 イエスは彼らに言われた、「よく聞いておくがよい。世が改まって、人の子がその栄光の座につく時には、わたしに従ってきたあなたがたもまた、十二の位に座してイスラエルの十二の部族をさばくであろう。
19:28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That all of you which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, all of you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
19:29 おおよそ、わたしの名のために、家、兄弟、姉妹、父、母、子、もしくは畑を捨てた者は、その幾倍をも受け、また永遠の生命を受けつぐであろう。
19:29 And every one that has forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
19:30 しかし、多くの先の者はあとになり、あとの者は先になるであろう。
19:30 But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.
20:1 天国は、ある家の主人が、自分のぶどう園に労働者を雇うために、夜が明けると同時に、出かけて行くようなものである。
20:1 For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.
20:2 彼は労働者たちと、一日一デナリの約束をして、彼らをぶどう園に送った。
20:2 And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
20:3 それから九時ごろに出て行って、他の人々が市場で何もせずに立っているのを見た。
20:3 And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,
20:4 そして、その人たちに言った、『あなたがたも、ぶどう園に行きなさい。相当な賃銀を払うから』。
20:4 And said unto them; Go all of you also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.
20:5 そこで、彼らは出かけて行った。主人はまた、十二時ごろと三時ごろとに出て行って、同じようにした。
20:5 Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.
20:6 五時ごろまた出て行くと、また立っている人々を見たので、彼らに言った、『なぜ、何もしないで、一日中ここに立っていたのか』。
20:6 And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and says unto them, Why stand all of you here all the day idle?
20:7 彼らが『だれもわたしたちを雇ってくれませんから』と答えたので、その人々に言った、『あなたがたも、ぶどう園に行きなさい』。
20:7 They say unto him, Because no man has hired us. He says unto them, Go all of you also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall all of you receive.
20:8 さて、夕方になって、ぶどう園の主人は管理人に言った、『労働者たちを呼びなさい。そして、最後にきた人々からはじめて順々に最初にきた人々にわたのように、賃銀を払ってやりなさい』。
20:8 So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard says unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first.
20:9 そこで、五時ごろに雇われた人々がきて、それぞれ一デナリずつもらった。
20:9 And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.
20:10 ところが、最初の人がきて、もっと多くもらえるだろうと思っていたのに、彼らも一デナリずつもらっただけであった。
20:10 But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.
20:11 もらったとき、家の主人にむかって不平をもらして、
20:11 And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house,
20:12 言った、『この最後の者たちは一時間しか働かなかったのに、あなたは一日じゅう、労苦と暑さを辛抱したわたしたちと同じ扱いをなさいました』。
20:12 Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and you have made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.
20:13 そこで彼はそのひとりに答えて言った、『友よ、わたしはあなたに対して不正をしてはいない。あなたはわたしと一デナリの約束をしたのではないか。
20:13 But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do you no wrong: did not you agree with me for a penny?
2014自分の賃銀をもらって行きなさい。わたしは、この最後の者にあなたと同様にはらってやりたいのだ。
20:14 Take that yours is, and go your way: I will give unto this last, even as unto you.
20:15 自分の物を自分がしたいようにするのは、当たりまえではないか。それともわたしが気前よくしているので、ねたましく思うのか』。
20:15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is yours eye evil, because I am good?
20:16 このように、あとの者は先になり、先の者はあとになるであろう」。
20:16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.
20:17 さて、イエスはエルサレムへ上るとき、十二弟子をひそかに呼びよせ、その途中で彼らに言われた、
20:17 And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them,
20:18 「見よ、わたしたちはエルサレムに上って行くが、人の子は祭司長、律法学者たちの手に渡されるであろう。彼らは彼に死刑を宣告し、
20:18 Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,
20:19 そして彼をあざけり、むち打ち、十字架につけさせるために、異邦人に引きわたすであろう。そして彼は三日目によみがえるであろう」。
20:19 And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.
20:20 そのとき、ゼベダイの子らの母が、その子らと一緒にイエスのもとにきてひざまずき、何事かをお願いした。
20:20 Then came to him the mother of Zebedees children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.
20:21 そこでイエスは彼女に言われた、「何をしてほいしのか」。彼女は言った、「わたしのふたりのむすこが、あなたの御国で、ひとりはあなたの右に、ひとりは左にすわれるように、お言葉をください」。
20:21 And he said unto her, What will you? She says unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on your right hand, and the other on the left, in your kingdom.
20:22 イエスは答えて言われた、「あなたがたは、自分が何を求めているのか、わかっていない。わたしの飲もうとしている杯を飲むことができるか」。彼らは「できます」と答えた。
20:22 But Jesus answered and said, All of you know not what all of you ask. Are all of you able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.
20:23 イエスは彼らに言われた、「確かに、あなたがたはわたしの杯を飲むことになろう。しかし、わたしの右、左にすわらせることは、わたしのすることでなく、わたしの父によって備えられている人々だけに許されることである」。
20:23 And he says unto them, All of you shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.
20:24 十人の者はこれを聞いて、このふたりの兄弟たちのことで憤慨した。
20:24 And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren.
20:25 そこで、イエスは彼らを呼び寄せて言われた、「あなたがたの知っているとおり、異邦人の支配者たちはその民を治め、また偉い人たちは、その民の上に権力をふるっている。
20:25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, All of you know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
20:26 あなたがたの間ではそうであってはならない。かえって、あなたがたの間で偉くなりたいと思う者は、仕える人となり、
20:26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
20:27 あなたがたの間でかしらになりたいと思う者は、僕とならねばならない。
20:27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
20:28 それは、人の子がきたのも、仕えられるためでなく、仕えるためであり、またおおくの人のあがないとして、自分の命をあたえるためであるのと、ちょうど同じである」。
20:28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
20:29 それから、彼らがエリコを出て行ったとき、大ぜいの群衆がイエスに従ってきた。
20:29 And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.
20:30 すると、ふたりの盲人が道ばたにすわっていたが、イエスがとおって行かれると聞いて、叫んで言った、「主よ、ダビデの子よ、わたしたちをあわれんでください」。
20:30 And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, you son of David.
20:31 群衆は彼らをしかって黙らせようとしたが、彼らはますます叫びつづけて言った、「主よ、ダビデの子よ、わたしたちをあわれんで下さい」。
20:31 And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, you son of David.
20:32 イエスは立ちどまり彼らを呼んで言われた、「わたしに何をしてほしいのか」。
20:32 And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will all of you that I shall do unto you?
20:33 彼らは言った、「主よ、目をあけていただくことです」。
20:33 They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.
20:34 イエスは深くあわれんで、彼らの目にさわられた。すると彼らは、たちまち見えるようになり、イエスに従って行った。
20:34 So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.
