1:1 アモツの子イザヤがユダの王ウジヤ、ヨタム、アハズ、ヒゼキヤの世にユダとエルサレムについて見た幻。
The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.
1:2 天よ、聞け、地よ、耳を傾けよ、主が次のように語られたから、「わたしは子を養い育てた、しかし彼らはわたしにそむいた。
1:2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD has spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.
1:3 牛はその飼主を知り、ろばはその主人のまぐさおけを知る。しかしイスラエルは知らず、わが民は悟らない」。
1:3 The ox knows his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel does not know, my people does not consider.
1:4 ああ、罪深い国びと、不義を負う民、悪をなす者のすえ、堕落せる子らよ。彼らは主を捨て、イスラエルの聖者をあなどり、これをうとんじ遠ざかった。
1:4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.
1:5 あなたがたは、どうして重ね重ねそむいて、なおも打たれようとするのか。その頭はことごとく病み、その心は全く弱りはてている。
1:5 Why should all of you be stricken any more? all of you will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.
1:6 足のうらから頭まで、完全なところがなく、傷と打ち傷と生傷ばかりだ。これを絞り出すものなく、包むものなく、油をもってやわらげるものもない。
1:6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and rotting sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.
1:7 あなたがたの国は荒れすたれ、町々は火で焼かれ、田畑のものはあなたがたの前で外国人に食われ、滅ぼされたソドムのように荒れすたれた。
1:7 Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
1:8 シオンの娘はぶどう畑の仮小屋のように、きゅうり畑の番小屋のように、包囲された町のように、ただひとり残った。
1:8 And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.
1:9 もし万軍の主が、われわれに少しの生存者を残されなかったなら、われわれはソドムのようになり、またゴモラと同じようになったであろう。
1:9 Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.
1:10 あなたがたソドムのつかさたちよ、主の言葉を聞け。あなたがたゴモラの民よ、われわれの神の教に耳を傾けよ。
1:10 Hear the word of the LORD, all of you rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, all of you people of Gomorrah.
1:11 主は言われる、「あなたがたがささげる多くの犠牲は、わたしになんの益があるか。わたしは雄羊の燔祭と、肥えた獣の脂肪とに飽いている。わたしは雄牛あるいは小羊、あるいは雄やぎの血を喜ばない。
1:11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? says the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.
1:12 あなたがたは、わたしにまみえようとして来るが、だれが、わたしの庭を踏み荒すことを求めたか。
1:12 When all of you come to appear before me, who has required this at your hand, to tread my courts?
1:13 あなたがたは、もはや、むなしい供え物を携えてきてはならない。薫香は、わたしの忌みきらうものだ。新月、安息日、また会衆を呼び集めること――わたしは不義と聖会とに耐えられない。
1:13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.
1:14 あなたがたの新月と定めの祭とは、わが魂の憎むもの、それはわたしの重荷となり、わたしは、それを負うのに疲れた。
1:14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hates: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.
1:15 あなたがたが手を伸べるとき、わたしは目をおおって、あなたがたを見ない。たとい多くの祈をささげても、わたしは聞かない。あなたがたの手は血まみれである。
1:15 And when all of you spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when all of you make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
1:16 あなたがたは身を洗って、清くなり、わたしの目の前からあなたがたの悪い行いを除き、悪を行うことをやめ、
1:16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
1:17 善を行うことをならい、公平を求め、しえたげる者を戒め、みなしごを正しく守り、寡婦の訴えを弁護せよ。
1:17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
1:18 主は言われる、さあ、われわれは互に論じよう。たといあなたがたの罪は緋のようであっても、雪のように白くなるのだ。紅のように赤くても、羊の毛のようになるのだ。
1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
1:19 もし、あなたがたが快く従うなら、地の良き物を食べることができる。
1:19 If all of you be willing and obedient, all of you shall eat the good of the land:
1:20 しかし、あなたがたが拒みそむくならば、つるぎで滅ぼされる」。これは主がその口で語られたことである。
1:20 But if all of you refuse and rebel, all of you shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it.
1:21 かつては忠信であった町、どうして遊女となったのか。昔は公平で満ち、正義がそのうちにやどっていたのに、今は人を殺す者ばかりとなってしまった。
1:21 How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.
1:22 あなたの銀はかすとなり、あなたのぶどう酒は水をまじえ、
1:22 Your silver is become dross, your wine mixed with water:
1:23 あなたのつかさたちはそむいて、盗びとの仲間となり、みな、まいないを好み、贈り物を追い求め、みなしごを正しく守らず、寡婦の訴えは彼らに届かない。
1:23 Your princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loves gifts, and follows after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither does the cause of the widow come unto them.
1:24 このゆえに、主、万軍の主、イスラエルの全能者は言われる、「ああ、わたしはわが敵にむかって憤りをもらし、わがあだにむかって恨みをはらす。
1:24 Therefore says the LORD, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:
1:25 わたしはまた、わが手をあなたに向け、あなたのかすを灰汁で溶かすように溶かし去り、あなたの混ざり物をすべて取り除く。
1:25 And I will turn my hand upon you, and thoroughly purge away your dross, and take away all your tin:
1:26 こうして、あなたのさばきびとをもとのとおりに、あなたの議官を初めのとおりに回復する。その後あなたは正義の都、忠信の町ととなえられる」。
1:26 And I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counsellors as at the beginning: afterward you shall be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.
1:27 シオンは公平をもってあがなわれ、そのうちの悔い改める者は、正義をもってあがなわれる。
1:27 Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.
1:28 しかし、そむく者と罪びととは共に滅ぼされ、主を捨てる者は滅びうせる。
1:28 And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed.
1:29 あなたがたは、みずから喜んだかしの木によって、はずかしめを受け、みずから選んだ園によって、恥じ赤らむ。
1:29 For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which all of you have desired, and all of you shall be confounded for the gardens that all of you have chosen.
1:30 あなたがたは葉の枯れるかしの木のように、水のない園のようになり、
1:30 For all of you shall be as an oak whose leaf fades, and as a garden that has no water.
1:31 強い者も麻くずのように、そのわざは火花のようになり、その二つのものは共に燃えて、それを消す者はない。
1:31 And the strong shall be as tow, and the maker of it as a spark, and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.
2:1 アモツの子イザヤがユダとエルサレムについて示された言葉。
2:1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
2:2 終りの日に次のことが起る。主の家の山は、もろもろの山のかしらとして堅く立ち、もろもろの峰よりも高くそびえ、すべて国はこれに流れてき、
2:2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
2:3 多くの民は来て言う、「さあ、われわれは主の山に登り、ヤコブの神の家へ行こう。彼はその道をわれわれに教えられる、われわれはその道に歩もう」と。律法はシオンから出、主の言葉はエルサレムから出るからである。
2:3 And many people shall go and say, Come all of you, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
2:4 彼はもろもろの国のあいだにさばきを行い、多くの民のために仲裁に立たれる。こうして彼らはそのつるぎを打ちかえて、すきとし、そのやりを打ちかえて、かまとし、国は国にむかって、つるぎをあげず、彼らはもはや戦いのことを学ばない。
2:4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
2:5 ヤコブの家よ、さあ、われわれは主の光に歩もう。
2:5 O house of Jacob, come all of you, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.
2:6 あなたはあなたの民ヤコブの家を捨てられた。これは彼らが東の国からの占い師をもって満たし、ペリシテびとのように占い者となり、外国人と同盟を結んだからである。
2:6 Therefore you have forsaken your people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.
2:7 彼らの国には金銀が満ち、その財宝は限りない。また彼らの国には馬が満ち、その戦車も限りない。
2:7 Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots:
2:8 また彼らの国には偶像が満ち、彼らはその手のわざを拝み、その指で作ったものを拝む。
2:8 Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:
2:9 こうして人はかがめられ、人々は低くされる。どうか彼らをおゆるしにならぬように。
2:9 And the mean man bows down, and the great man humbles himself: therefore forgive them not.
2:10 あなたは岩の間にはいり、ちりの中にかくれて、主の恐るべきみ前と、その威光の輝きとを避けよ。
2:10 Enter into the rock, and hide you in the dust, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty.
2:11 その日には目をあげて高ぶる者は低くせられ、おごる人はかがめられ、主のみ高くあげられる。
2:11 The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
2:12 これは、万軍の主の一日があって、すべて誇る者と高ぶる者、すべておのれを高くする者と得意な者とに／臨むからである。
2:12 For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:
2:13 またレバノンの高くそびえるすべての香柏、バシャンのすべてのかしの木、
2:13 And upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan,
2:14 またすべての高い山々、すべてのそびえ立つ峰々、
2:14 And upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up,
2:15 すべての高きやぐら、すべての堅固な城壁、
2:15 And upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall,
2:16 タルシシのすべての船、すべての麗しい船舶に臨む。
2:16 And upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures.
2:17 その日には高ぶる者はかがめられ、おごる人は低くせられ、主のみ高くあげられる。
2:17 And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
2:18 こうして偶像はことごとく滅びうせる。
2:18 And the idols he shall utterly abolish.
2:19 主が立って地を脅かされるとき、人々は岩のほら穴にはいり、また地の穴にはいって、主の恐るべきみ前と、その威光の輝きとを避ける。
2:19 And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake terribly the earth.
2:20 その日、人々は拝むためにみずから造った／しろがねの偶像と、こがねの偶像とを、もぐらもちと、こうもりに投げ与え、
2:20 In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;
2:21 岩のほら穴や、がけの裂け目にはいり、主が立って地を脅かされるとき、主の恐るべきみ前と、その威光の輝きとを避ける。
2:21 To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the rugged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake terribly the earth.
2:22 あなたがたは鼻から息の出入りする人に、たよることをやめよ、このような者はなんの価値があろうか。
2:22 Cease all of you from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of ?
3:1 見よ、主、万軍の主は／エルサレムとユダから／ささえとなり、頼みとなるもの――すべてささえとなるパン、すべてささえとなる水――を取り去られる。
3:1 For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, does take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water.
3:2 すなわち勇士と軍人、裁判官と預言者、占い師と長老、
3:2 The mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,
3:3 五十人の長と身分の高い人、議官と巧みな魔術師、老練なまじない師を取り去られる。
3:3 The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator.
3:4 わたしはわらべを立てて彼らの君とし、みどりごに彼らを治めさせる。
3:4 And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.
3:5 民は互に相しえたげ、人はおのおのその隣をしえたげ、若い者は老いたる者にむかって高ぶり、卑しい者は尊い者にむかって高ぶる。
3:5 And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.
3:6 その時、人はその父の家で、兄弟をつかまえて言う、「あなたは外套を持っている、わたしたちのつかさびとになって、この荒れ跡をあなたの手で治めてください」と。
3:6 When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, You have clothing, be you our ruler, and let this ruin be under your hand:
3:7 その日、彼は声をあげて言う、「わたしはいやす者となることはできません、わたしの家にはパンもなく、外套もありません、わたしを立てて、民のつかさびとにしないでください」。
3:7 In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.
3:8 これは彼らの言葉と行いとが主にそむき、その栄光の目をおかしたので、エルサレムはつまずき、ユダは倒れたからである。
3:8 For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.
3:9 彼らの不公平は彼らにむかって不利なあかしをし、ソドムのようにその罪をあらわして隠さない。わざわいなるかな、彼らはみずから悪の報いをうけた。
3:9 The show of their countenance does witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.
3:10 正しい人に言え、彼らはさいわいであると。彼らはその行いの実を食べるからである。
3:10 Say all of you to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
3:11 悪しき者はわざわいだ、彼は災をうける。その手のなした事が彼に報いられるからである。
3:11 Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.
3:12 わが民は幼な子にしえたげられ、女たちに治められる。ああ、わが民よ、あなたを導く者は／かえって、あなたを迷わせ、あなたの行くべき道を混乱させる。
3:12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead you cause you to go astray, and destroy the way of your paths.
3:13 主は言い争うために立ちあがり、その民をさばくために立たれる。
3:13 The LORD stands up to plead, and stands to judge the people.
3:14 主はその民の長老と君たちとをさばいて、「あなたがたは、ぶどう畑を食い荒した。貧しい者からかすめとった物は、あなたがたの家にある。
3:14 The LORD will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for all of you have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.
3:15 なぜ、あなたがたはわが民を踏みにじり、貧しい者の顔をすり砕くのか」と／万軍の神、主は言われる。
3:15 What mean all of you that all of you beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? says the Lord GOD of hosts.
3:16 主は言われた、シオンの娘らは高ぶり、首をのばしてあるき、目でこびをおくり、その行くとき気どって歩き、その足でりんりんと鳴り響かす。
3:16 Moreover the LORD says, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and moving enticingly as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:
3:17 それゆえ、主はシオンの娘らの頭を／撃って、かさぶたでおおい、彼らの隠れた所をあらわされる。
3:17 Therefore the LORD will strike with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.
3:18 その日、主は彼らの美しい装身具と服装すなわち、くるぶし輪、髪ひも、月形の飾り、
3:18 In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,
3:19 耳輪、腕輪、顔おおい、
3:19 The chains, and the bracelets, and the covering for the lower part of the face,
3:20 頭飾り、すね飾り、飾り帯、香箱、守り袋、
3:20 The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
3:21 指輪、鼻輪、
3:21 The rings, and nose jewels,
3:22 礼服、外套、肩掛、手さげ袋、
3:22 The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,
3:23 薄織の上着、亜麻布の着物、帽子、被衣などを取り除かれる。
3:23 The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.
3:24 芳香はかわって、悪臭となり、帯はかわって、なわとなり、よく編んだ髪はかわって、かぶろとなり、はなやかな衣はかわって、荒布の衣となり、美しい顔はかわって、焼き印された顔となる。
3:24 And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.
3:25 あなたの男たちはつるぎに倒れ、あなたの勇士たちは戦いに倒れる。
3:25 Your men shall fall by the sword, and your mighty in the war.
3:26 シオンの門は嘆き悲しみ、シオンは荒れすたれて、地に座する。
3:26 And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.
4:1 その日、七人の女がひとりの男にすがって、「わたしたちは自分のパンをたべ、自分の着物を着ます。ただ、あなたの名によって呼ばれることを許して、わたしたちの恥を取り除いてください」と言う。
4:1 And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by your name, to take away our reproach.
4:2 その日、主の枝は麗しく栄え、地の産物はイスラエルの生き残った者の誇、また光栄となる。
4:2 In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.
4:3 そして主が審判の霊と滅亡の霊とをもって、シオンの娘らの汚れを洗い、エルサレムの血をその中から除き去られるとき、シオンに残る者、エルサレムにとどまる者、すべてエルサレムにあって、生命の書にしるされた者は聖なる者ととなえられる。
4:3 And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remains in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem:
4:4 （3節に合節）
4:4 When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.
4:5 その時、主はシオンの山のすべての場所と、そのもろもろの集会との上に、昼は雲をつくり、夜は煙と燃える火の輝きとをつくられる。これはすべての栄光の上にある天蓋であり、あずまやであって、
4:5 And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence.
4:6 昼は暑さをふせぐ陰となり、また暴風と雨を避けて隠れる所となる。
4:6 And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the day time from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.
5:1 わたしはわが愛する者のために、そのぶどう畑についてのわが愛の歌をうたおう。わが愛する者は土肥えた小山の上に、一つのぶどう畑をもっていた。
5:1 Now will I sing to my beloved a song of my beloved concerning his vineyard. My beloved has a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:
5:2 彼はそれを掘りおこし、石を除き、それに良いぶどうを植え、その中に物見やぐらを建て、またその中に酒ぶねを掘り、良いぶどうの結ぶのを待ち望んだ。ところが結んだものは野ぶどうであった。
5:2 And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the best vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.
5:3 それで、エルサレムに住む者とユダの人々よ、どうか、わたしとぶどう畑との間をさばけ。
5:3 And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, between me and my vineyard.
5:4 わたしが、ぶどう畑になした事のほかに、何かなすべきことがあるか。わたしは良いぶどうの結ぶのを待ち望んだのに、どうして野ぶどうを結んだのか。
5:4 What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?
5:5 それで、わたしが、ぶどう畑になそうとすることを、あなたがたに告げる。わたしはそのまがきを取り去って、食い荒されるにまかせ、そのかきをとりこわして、踏み荒されるにまかせる。
5:5 And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:
5:6 わたしはこれを荒して、刈り込むことも、耕すこともせず、おどろと、いばらとを生えさせ、また雲に命じて、その上に雨を降らさない。
5:6 And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor dug; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.
5:7 万軍の主のぶどう畑はイスラエルの家であり、主が喜んでそこに植えられた物は、ユダの人々である。主はこれに公平を望まれたのに、見よ、流血。正義を望まれたのに、見よ、叫び。
5:7 For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry.
5:8 わざわいなるかな、彼らは家に家を建て連ね、田畑に田畑をまし加えて、余地をあまさず、自分ひとり、国のうちに住まおうとする。
5:8 Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth!
5:9 万軍の主はわたしの耳に誓って言われた、「必ずや多くの家は荒れすたれ、大きな麗しい家も住む者がないようになる。
5:9 In mine ears said the LORD of hosts, Truthfully many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant.
5:10 十反のぶどう畑もわずかに一バテの実を結び、一ホメルの種もわずかに一エパの実を結ぶ」。
5:10 Yea, ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and the seed of an homer shall yield an ephah.
5:11 わざわいなるかな、彼らは朝早く起きて、濃き酒をおい求め、夜のふけるまで飲みつづけて、酒にその身を焼かれている。
5:11 Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!
5:12 彼らの酒宴には琴あり、立琴あり、鼓あり笛あり、ぶどう酒がある。しかし彼らは主のみわざを顧みず、み手のなされる事に目をとめない。
5:12 And the harp, and the viol, the timbrel, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither consider the operation of his hands.
5:13 それゆえ、わが民は無知のために、とりこにせられ、その尊き者は飢えて死に、そのもろもろの民は、かわきによって衰えはてる。
5:13 Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.
5:14 また陰府はその欲望を大きくし、その口を限りなく開き、エルサレムの貴族、そのもろもろの民、その群集およびそのうちの喜びたのしめる者はみな／その中に落ちこむ。
5:14 Therefore hell has enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoices, shall descend into it.
5:15 人はかがめられ、人々は低くせられ、高ぶる者の目は低くされる。
5:15 And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled:
5:16 しかし万軍の主は公平によってあがめられ、聖なる神は正義によって、おのれを聖なる者として示される。
5:16 But the LORD of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness.
5:17 こうして小羊は自分の牧場におるように草をはみ、肥えた家畜および子やぎは荒れ跡の中で食を得る。
5:17 Then shall the lambs feed after their manner, and the waste places of the fat ones shall strangers eat.
5:18 わざわいなるかな、彼らは偽りのなわをもって悪を引きよせ、車の綱をもってするように罪を引きよせる。
5:18 Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope:
5:19 彼らは言う、「彼を急がせ、そのわざをすみやかにさせよ、それを見せてもらおう。イスラエルの聖者の定める事を近づききたらせよ、それを見せてもらおう」と。
5:19 That say, Let him make speed, and hasten his work, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!
5:20 わざわいなるかな、彼らは悪を呼んで善といい、善を呼んで悪といい、暗きを光とし、光を暗しとし、苦きを甘しとし、甘きを苦しとする。
5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
5:21 わざわいなるかな、彼らはおのれを見て、賢しとし、みずから顧みて、さとしとする。
5:21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
5:22 わざわいなるかな、彼らはぶどう酒を飲むことの英雄であり、濃き酒をまぜ合わせることの勇士である。
5:22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:
5:23 彼らはまいないによって悪しき者を義とし、義人からその義を奪う。
5:23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!
5:24 それゆえ、火の舌が刈り株を食い尽すように、枯れ草が炎の中に消えうせるように、彼らの根は朽ちたものとなり、彼らの花はちりのように飛び去る。彼らは万軍の主の律法を捨て、イスラエルの聖者の言葉を侮ったからである。
5:24 Therefore as the fire devours the stubble, and the flame consumes the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
5:25 それゆえ、主はその民にむかって怒りを発し、み手を伸べて彼らを撃たれた。山は震い動き、彼らのしかばねは、ちまたの中で、あくたのようになった。それにもかかわらず、み怒りはやまず、なお、み手を伸ばされる。
5:25 Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against his people, and he has stretched forth his hand against them, and has smitten them: and the hills did tremble, and their carcasses were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
5:26 主は旗をあげて遠くから一つの国民を招き、地の果から彼らを呼ばれる。見よ、彼らは走って、すみやかに来る。
5:26 And he will lift up an explicit sign to the nations from far, and will hiss unto them from the end of the earth: and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly:
5:27 その中には疲れる者も、つまずく者もなく、まどろむ者も、眠る者もない。その腰の帯はとけず、そのくつのひもは切れていない。
5:27 None shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken:
5:28 その矢は鋭く、その弓はことごとく張り、その馬のひずめは火打石のように、その車の輪はつむじ風のように思われる。
5:28 Whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent, their horses' hoofs shall be counted like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind:
5:29 そのほえることは、ししのように、若いししのようにほえ、うなって獲物を捕え、かすめ去っても救う者がない。
5:29 Their roaring shall be like a lion, they shall roar like young lions: yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and shall carry it away safe, and none shall deliver it.
5:30 その日、その鳴りどよめくことは、海の鳴りどよめくようだ。もし地をのぞむならば、見よ、暗きと悩みとがあり、光は雲によって暗くなる。
5:30 And in that day they shall roar against them like the roaring of the sea: and if one look unto the land, behold darkness and sorrow, and the light is darkened in the heavens thereof.
6:1 ウジヤ王の死んだ年、わたしは主が高くあげられたみくらに座し、その衣のすそが神殿に満ちているのを見た。
6:1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
6:2 その上にセラピムが立ち、おのおの六つの翼をもっていた。その二つをもって顔をおおい、二つをもって足をおおい、二つをもって飛びかけり、
6:2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he did fly.
6:3 互に呼びかわして言った。「聖なるかな、聖なるかな、聖なるかな、万軍の主、その栄光は全地に満つ」。
6:3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
6:4 その呼ばわっている者の声によって敷居の基が震い動き、神殿の中に煙が満ちた。
6:4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
6:5 その時わたしは言った、「わざわいなるかな、わたしは滅びるばかりだ。わたしは汚れたくちびるの者で、汚れたくちびるの民の中に住む者であるのに、わたしの目が万軍の主なる王を見たのだから」。
6:5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
6:6 この時セラピムのひとりが火ばしをもって、祭壇の上から取った燃えている炭を手に携え、わたしのところに飛んできて、
6:6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
6:7 わたしの口に触れて言った、「見よ、これがあなたのくちびるに触れたので、あなたの悪は除かれ、あなたの罪はゆるされた」。
6:7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this has touched your lips; and yours iniquity is taken away, and your sin purged.
6:8 わたしはまた主の言われる声を聞いた、「わたしはだれをつかわそうか。だれがわれわれのために行くだろうか」。その時わたしは言った、「ここにわたしがおります。わたしをおつかわしください」。
6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
6:9 主は言われた、「あなたは行って、この民にこう言いなさい、『あなたがたはくりかえし聞くがよい、しかし悟ってはならない。あなたがたはくりかえし見るがよい、しかしわかってはならない』と。
6:9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear all of you indeed, but understand not; and see all of you indeed, but perceive not.
6:10 あなたはこの民の心を鈍くし、その耳を聞えにくくし、その目を閉ざしなさい。これは彼らがその目で見、その耳で聞き、その心で悟り、悔い改めていやされることのないためである」。
6:10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
6:11 そこで、わたしは言った、「主よ、いつまでですか」。主は言われた、「町々は荒れすたれて、住む者もなく、家には人かげもなく、国は全く荒れ地となり、
6:11 Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,
6:12 人々は主によって遠くへ移され、荒れはてた所が国の中に多くなる時まで、こうなっている。
6:12 And the LORD have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.
6:13 その中に十分の一の残る者があっても、これもまた焼き滅ぼされる。テレビンの木またはかしの木が切り倒されるとき、その切り株が残るように」。聖なる種族はその切り株である。
6:13 But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.
7:1 ユダの王、ウジヤの子ヨタム、その子アハズの時、スリヤの王レヂンとレマリヤの子であるイスラエルの王ペカとが上ってきて、エルサレムを攻めたが勝つことができなかった。
7:1 And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it.
7:2 時に「スリヤがエフライムと同盟している」とダビデの家に告げる者があったので、王の心と民の心とは風に動かされる林の木のように動揺した。
7:2 And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind.
7:3 その時、主はイザヤに言われた、「今、あなたとあなたの子シャル・ヤシュブと共に出て行って、布さらしの野へ行く大路に沿う上の池の水道の端でアハズに会い、
7:3 Then said the LORD unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, you, and Shearjashub your son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the launderer's field;
7:4 彼に言いなさい、『気をつけて、静かにし、恐れてはならない。レヂンとスリヤおよびレマリヤの子が激しく怒っても、これら二つの燃え残りのくすぶっている切り株のゆえに心を弱くしてはならない。
7:4 And say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.
7:5 スリヤはエフライムおよびレマリヤの子と共にあなたにむかって悪い事を企てて言う、
7:5 Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have taken evil counsel against you, saying,
7:6 「われわれはユダに攻め上って、これを脅かし、われわれのためにこれを破り取り、タビエルの子をそこの王にしよう」と。
7:6 Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal:
7:7 主なる神はこう言われる、この事は決して行われない、また起ることはない。
7:7 Thus says the Lord GOD, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.
7:8 スリヤのかしらはダマスコ、ダマスコのかしらはレヂンである。（六十五年のうちにエフライムは敗れて、国をなさないようになる。）
7:8 For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people.
7:9 エフライムのかしらはサマリヤ、サマリヤのかしらはレマリヤの子である。もしあなたがたが信じないならば、立つことはできない』」。
7:9 And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If all of you will not believe, surely all of you shall not be established.
7:10 主は再びアハズに告げて言われた、
7:10 Moreover the LORD spoke again unto Ahaz, saying,
7:11 「あなたの神、主に一つのしるしを求めよ、陰府のように深い所に、あるいは天のように高い所に求めよ」。
7:11 Ask you a sign of the LORD your God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.
7:12 しかしアハズは言った、「わたしはそれを求めて、主を試みることをいたしません」。
7:12 But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD.
7:13 そこでイザヤは言った、「ダビデの家よ、聞け。あなたがたは人を煩わすことを小さい事とし、またわが神をも煩わそうとするのか。
7:13 And he said, Hear all of you now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will all of you weary my God also?
7:14 それゆえ、主はみずから一つのしるしをあなたがたに与えられる。見よ、おとめがみごもって男の子を産む。その名はインマヌエルととなえられる。
7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
7:15 その子が悪を捨て、善を選ぶことを知るころになって、凝乳と、蜂蜜とを食べる。
7:15 Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.
7:16 それはこの子が悪を捨て、善を選ぶことを知る前に、あなたが恐れているふたりの王の地は捨てられるからである。
7:16 For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that you abhor shall be forsaken of both her kings.
7:17 主はエフライムがユダから分れた時からこのかた、臨んだことのないような日をあなたと、あなたの民と、あなたの父の家とに臨ませられる。それはアッスリヤの王である」。
7:17 The LORD shall bring upon you, and upon your people, and upon your father's house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.
7:18 その日、主はエジプトの川々の源にいる、はえを招き、アッスリヤの地にいる蜂を呼ばれる。
7:18 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.
7:19 彼らはみな来て、険しい谷、岩の裂け目、すべてのいばら、すべての牧場の上にとどまる。
7:19 And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes.
7:20 その日、主は大川の向こうから雇ったかみそり、すなわちアッスリヤの王をもって、頭と足の毛とをそり、また、ひげをも除き去られる。
7:20 In the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, namely, by them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard.
7:21 その日、人は若い雌牛一頭と羊二頭を飼い、
7:21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall nourish a young cow, and two sheep;
7:22 それから出る乳が多いので、凝乳を食べることができ、すべて国のうちに残された者は凝乳と、蜂蜜とを食べることができる。
7:22 And it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk that they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land.
7:23 その日、銀一千シケルの価ある千株のぶどうの木のあった所も、ことごとくいばらと、おどろの生える所となり、
7:23 And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place shall be, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silver coins, it shall even be for briers and thorns.
7:24 いばらと、おどろとが地にはびこるために、人々は弓と矢をもってそこへ行く。
7:24 With arrows and with bows shall men come thither; because all the land shall become briers and thorns.
7:25 くわをもって掘り耕したすべての山々にも、あなたは、いばらと、おどろとを恐れて、そこへ行くことができない。その地はただ牛を放ち、羊の踏むところとなる。
7:25 And on all hills that shall be dug with the mattock, there shall not come thither the fear of briers and thorns: but it shall be for the sending out of oxen, and for the treading of lesser cattle.
8:1 主はわたしに言われた、「一枚の大きな札を取って、その上に普通の文字で、『マヘル・シャラル・ハシ・バズ』と書きなさい」。
8:1 Moreover the LORD said unto me, Take you a great roll, and write in it with a man's pen concerning Mahershalalhashbaz.
8:2 そこで、わたしは確かな証人として、祭司ウリヤおよびエベレキヤの子ゼカリヤを立てた。
8:2 And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.
8:3 わたしが預言者の妻に近づくと、彼女はみごもって男の子を産んだ。その時、主はわたしに言われた、「その名をマヘル・シャラル・ハシ・バズと呼びなさい。
8:3 And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the LORD to me, Call his name Mahershalalhashbaz.
8:4 それはこの子がまだ『おとうさん、おかあさん』と呼ぶことを知らないうちに、ダマスコの富と、サマリヤのぶんどり品とが、アッスリヤ王の前に奪い去られるからである」。
8:4 For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.
8:5 主はまた重ねてわたしに言われた、
8:5 The LORD spoke also unto me again, saying,
8:6 「この民はゆるやかに流れるシロアの水を捨てて、レヂンとレマリヤの子の前に恐れくじける。
8:6 Forasmuch as this people refuses the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son;
8:7 それゆえ見よ、主は勢いたけく、みなぎりわたる大川の水を彼らにむかってせき入れられる。これはアッスリヤの王と、そのもろもろの威勢とであって、そのすべての支流にはびこり、すべての岸を越え、
8:7 Now therefore, behold, the Lord brings up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:
8:8 ユダに流れ入り、あふれみなぎって、首にまで及ぶ。インマヌエルよ、その広げた翼はあまねく、あなたの国に満ちわたる」。
8:8 And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.
8:9 もろもろの民よ、打ち破られて、驚きあわてよ。遠き国々のものよ、耳を傾けよ。腰に帯して、驚きあわてよ。腰に帯して、驚きあわてよ。
8:9 Associate yourselves, O all of you people, and all of you shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all you of far countries: gird yourselves, and all of you shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and all of you shall be broken in pieces.
8:10 ともに計れ、しかし、成らない。言葉を出せ、しかし、行われない。神がわれわれと共におられるからである。
8:10 Take counsel together, and it shall come to nothing; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.
8:11 主は強いみ手をもって、わたしを捕え、わたしに語り、この民の道に歩まないように、さとして言われた、
8:11 For the LORD spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,
8:12 「この民がすべて陰謀ととなえるものを陰謀ととなえてはならない。彼らの恐れるものを恐れてはならない。またおののいてはならない。
8:12 Say all of you not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear all of you their fear, nor be afraid.
8:13 あなたがたは、ただ万軍の主を聖として、彼をかしこみ、彼を恐れなければならない。
8:13 Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.
8:14 主はイスラエルの二つの家には聖所となり、またさまたげの石、つまずきの岩となり、エルサレムの住民には網となり、わなとなる。
8:14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a animal trap and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
8:15 多くの者はこれにつまずき、かつ倒れ、破られ、わなにかけられ、捕えられる」。
8:15 And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.
8:16 わたしは、あかしを一つにまとめ、教をわが弟子たちのうちに封じておこう。
8:16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
8:17 主はいま、ヤコブの家に、み顔をかくしておられるとはいえ、わたしはその主を待ち、主を望みまつる。
8:17 And I will wait upon the LORD, that hides his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
8:18 見よ、わたしと、主のわたしに賜わった子たちとは、シオンの山にいます万軍の主から与えられたイスラエルのしるしであり、前ぶれである。
8:18 Behold, I and the children whom the LORD has given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwells in mount Zion.
8:19 人々があなたがたにむかって「さえずるように、ささやくように語る巫子および魔術者に求めよ」という時、民は自分たちの神に求むべきではないか。生ける者のために死んだ者に求めるであろうか。
8:19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mumble: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?
8:20 ただ教とあかしとに求めよ。まことに彼らはこの言葉によって語るが、そこには夜明けがない。
8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
8:21 彼らはしえたげられ、飢えて国の中を経あるく。その飢えるとき怒りを放ち、自分たちの王、自分たちの神をのろい、かつその顔を天に向ける。
8:21 And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.
8:22 また地を見ると、見よ、悩みと暗きと、苦しみのやみとがあり、彼らは暗黒に追いやられる。
8:22 And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.
9:1 しかし、苦しみにあった地にも、やみがなくなる。さきにはゼブルンの地、ナフタリの地にはずかしめを与えられたが、後には海に至る道、ヨルダンの向こうの地、異邦人のガリラヤに光栄を与えられる。
9:1 Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.
9:2 暗やみの中に歩んでいた民は大いなる光を見た。暗黒の地に住んでいた人々の上に光が照った。
9:2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them has the light shined.
9:3 あなたが国民を増し、その喜びを大きくされたので、彼らは刈入れ時に喜ぶように、獲物を分かつ時に楽しむように、あなたの前に喜んだ。
9:3 You have multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before you according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.
9:4 これはあなたが彼らの負っているくびきと、その肩のつえと、しえたげる者のむちとを、ミデアンの日になされたように折られたからだ。
9:4 For you have broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.
9:5 すべて戦場で、歩兵のはいたくつと、血にまみれた衣とは、火の燃えくさとなって焼かれる。
9:5 For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.
9:6 ひとりのみどりごがわれわれのために生れた、ひとりの男の子がわれわれに与えられた。まつりごとはその肩にあり、その名は、「霊妙なる議士、大能の神、とこしえの父、平和の君」ととなえられる。
9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
9:7 そのまつりごとと平和とは、増し加わって限りなく、ダビデの位に座して、その国を治め、今より後、とこしえに公平と正義とをもって／これを立て、これを保たれる。万軍の主の熱心がこれをなされるのである。
9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
9:8 主はひと言をヤコブにおくり、これをイスラエルの上にくだされる。
9:8 The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it has lighted upon Israel.
9:9 すべてこの民、エフライムとサマリヤに住む者とは知るであろう。彼らは高ぶり、心おごって言う、
9:9 And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart,
9:10 「かわらがくずれても、われわれは切り石をもって建てよう。くわの木が切り倒されても、われわれは香柏をもってこれにかえよう」と。
9:10 The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.
9:11 それゆえ、主は敵を起して彼らを攻めさせ、そのあだを奮い立たせられる。
9:11 Therefore the LORD shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and join his enemies together;
9:12 東にスリヤびとあり、西にペリシテびとあり、彼らは大口をあけてイスラエルを食い尽す。それでも主の怒りはやまず、なおも、そのみ手を伸ばされる。
9:12 The Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
9:13 しかもなお、この民は自分たちを撃った者に帰らず、万軍の主を求めない。
9:13 For the people turns not unto him that strikes them, neither do they seek the LORD of hosts.
9:14 それゆえ、主はイスラエルから頭と尾と、しゅろの枝と葦とを一日のうちに断ち切られる。
9:14 Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day.
9:15 その頭とは、長老と尊き人、その尾とは、偽りを教える預言者である。
9:15 The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teaches lies, he is the tail.
9:16 この民を導く者は、これを迷わせ、彼らに導かれる者は、のみ尽される。
9:16 For the leaders of this people cause them to go astray; and they that are led of them are destroyed.
9:17 それゆえ、主はその若き人々を喜ばれず、そのみなしごと寡婦とをあわれまれない。彼らはみな、不信仰であって、悪を行う者、すべての口は愚かな事を語るからである。それでも主の怒りはやまず、なおも、そのみ手を伸ばされる。
9:17 Therefore the LORD shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaks folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
9:18 悪は火のように燃え、いばらと、おどろとを食い尽し、茂りあう林を焼き、煙の柱となって巻きあがる。
9:18 For wickedness burns as the fire: it shall devour the briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount up like the lifting up of smoke.
9:19 万軍の主の怒りによって地は焼け、その民は火の燃えくさのようになり、だれもその兄弟をあわれむ者がない。
9:19 Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts is the land darkened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his brother.
9:20 彼らは右手につかんでも、なお飢え、左手で食べても飽くことがない。おのおのその隣り人の肉を食う。
9:20 And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:
9:21 マナセはエフライムを、エフライムはマナセを食い、彼らは共にユダを攻める。それでも主の怒りはやまず、なおも、そのみ手を伸ばされる。
9:21 Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh: and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
10:1 わざわいなるかな、不義の判決を下す者、暴虐の宣告を書きしるす者。
10:1 Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed;
10:2 彼らは乏しい者の訴えを引き受けず、わが民のうちの貧しい者の権利をはぎ、寡婦の資産を奪い、みなしごのものをかすめる。
10:2 To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!
10:3 あなたがたは刑罰の日がきたなら、何をしようとするのか。大風が遠くから来るとき、何をしようとするのか。あなたがたはのがれていって、だれに助けを求めようとするのか。また、どこにあなたがたの富を残そうとするのか。
10:3 And what will all of you do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will all of you flee for help? and where will all of you leave your glory?
10:4 ただ捕われた者の中にかがみ、殺された者の中に伏し倒れるのみだ。それでも主の怒りはやまず、なおも、そのみ手を伸ばされる。
10:4 Without me they shall bow down under the prisoners, and they shall fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
10:5 ああ、アッスリヤはわが怒りのつえ、わが憤りのむちだ。
10:5 O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation.
10:6 わたしは彼をつかわして不信の国を攻め、彼に命じてわが怒りの民を攻め、かすめ奪わせ、彼らをちまたの泥のように踏みにじらせる。
10:6 I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.
10:7 しかし彼はそのようには思わず、その心もそのようには考えず、かえってその心は滅ぼすことを思い、あまたの国々を倒そうとする。
10:7 Nevertheless he means not so, neither does his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few.
10:8 彼は言う、「わが諸侯はみな王ではないか。
10:8 For he says, Are not my princes altogether kings?
10:9 カルノはカルケミシのようではないか。ハマテはアルパデのようではないか。サマリヤはダマスコのようではないか。
10:9 Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus?
10:10 わが手は偶像に仕える国々に伸びた。その彫った像はエルサレムおよび／サマリヤのものにまさっていた。
10:10 As my hand has found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria;
10:11 わたしはサマリヤとその偶像に行ったように、エルサレムとその偶像に行わぬであろうか」。
10:11 Shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?
10:12 主がシオンの山とエルサレムとになそうとすることを、ことごとくなし遂げられた時、主はアッスリヤ王の無礼な言葉と、その高ぶりとを罰せられる。
10:12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord has performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.
10:13 彼は言う、「わが手の力により、またわが知恵によって、わたしはこれをなした。わたしは賢いからである。わたしはもろもろの民の境を除き、その財宝を奪った。またわたしは雄牛のように、位に座する者を引きおろした。
10:13 For he says, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man:
10:14 わが手は巣を取るように、もろもろの民の富を得た。またわたしは人々が捨てられた卵を集めるように、全地を取り集めた。あるいは翼を動かし、あるいは口を開き、あるいはぺちゃくちゃ言う者もなかった」。
10:14 And my hand has found as a nest the riches of the people: and as one gathers eggs that are left, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or peeped.
10:15 おのは、それを用いて切る者にむかって、自分を誇ることができようか。のこぎりは、それを動かす者にむかって、みずから高ぶることができようか。これはあたかも、むちが自分をあげる者を動かし、つえが木でない者をあげようとするのに等しい。
10:15 Shall the axe boast itself against him that hews therewith? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shakes it? as if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift up itself, as if it were no wood.
10:16 それゆえ、主、万軍の主は、その肥えた勇士の中に病気を送って衰えさせ、その栄光の下に火の燃えるような炎を燃やされる。
10:16 Therefore shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory he shall kindle a burning like the burning of a fire.
10:17 イスラエルの光は火となり、その聖者は炎となり、そのいばらと、おどろとを一日のうちに焼き滅ぼす。
10:17 And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day;
10:18 また、その林と土肥えた田畑の栄えを、魂も、からだも二つながら滅ぼし、病める者のやせ衰える時のようにされる。
10:18 And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be as when a standard-bearer faints.
10:19 その林の木の残りのものはわずかであって、わらべもそれを書きとめることができる。
10:19 And the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them.
10:20 その日にはイスラエルの残りの者と、ヤコブの家の生き残った者とは、もはや自分たちを撃った者にたよらず、真心をもってイスラエルの聖者、主にたより、
10:20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that stroke them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
10:21 残りの者、すなわちヤコブの残りの者は大能の神に帰る。
10:21 The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.
10:22 あなたの民イスラエルは海の砂のようであっても、そのうちの残りの者だけが帰って来る。滅びはすでに定まり、義であふれている。
10:22 For though your people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.
10:23 主、万軍の主は定められた滅びを全地に行われる。
10:23 For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.
10:24 それゆえ、主、万軍の主はこう言われる、「シオンに住むわが民よ、アッスリヤびとが、エジプトびとがしたように、むちをもってあなたを打ち、つえをあげてあなたをせめても、彼らを恐れてはならない。
10:24 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwell in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall strike you with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against you, after the manner of Egypt.
10:25 ただしばらくして、わが憤りはやみ、わが怒りは彼らを滅ぼすからである。
10:25 For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction.
10:26 万軍の主は、むかしミデアンびとをオレブの岩で撃たれた時のように、彼らにむかって、むちをふるわれる。またそのつえを海の上にのばし、エジプトでなされたように、それをあげられる。
10:26 And the LORD of hosts shall stir up a scourge for him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and as his rod was upon the sea, so shall he lift it up after the manner of Egypt.
10:27 その日には、彼の重荷はあなたの肩からおり、彼のくびきはあなたの首から離れる」。彼はリンモンから上り、
10:27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off your shoulder, and his yoke from off your neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
10:28 アイアテにきたり、ミグロンを過ぎ、ミクマシでその行李をとどめ、
10:28 He has come to Aiath, he is passed to Migron; at Michmash he has laid up his carriages:
10:29 渡しを過ぎて、ゲバに宿る。ラマはおののき、サウルのギベアは逃げ去った。
10:29 They are gone over the passage: they have taken up their lodging at Geba; Ramah is afraid; Gibeah of Saul is fled.
10:30 ガリムの娘よ、声をあげて叫べ。ライシよ、耳を傾けよ。アナトテよ、彼に答えよ。
10:30 Lift up your voice, O daughter of Gallim: cause it to be heard unto Laish, O poor Anathoth.
10:31 マデメナは逃げ去り、ゲビムの民は隠れ場を求めた。
10:31 Madmenah is removed; the inhabitants of Gebim gather themselves to flee.
10:32 この日彼はノブに立ちとどまり、シオンの娘の山、エルサレムの丘にむかって、その手を振る。
10:32 As yet shall he remain at Nob that day: he shall shake his hand against the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.
10:33 見よ、主、万軍の主は、恐ろしい力をもって枝を切りおろされる。たけの高いものも切り落され、そびえ立つものは低くされる。
10:33 Behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, shall cut off the bough with terror: and the high ones of stature shall be hewn down, and the haughty shall be humbled.
10:34 主はおのをもって茂りあう林を切られる。みごとな木の茂るレバノンも倒される。
10:34 And he shall cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon shall fall by a mighty one.
11:1 エッサイの株から一つの芽が出、その根から一つの若枝が生えて実を結び、
11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
11:2 その上に主の霊がとどまる。これは知恵と悟りの霊、深慮と才能の霊、主を知る知識と主を恐れる霊である。
11:2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
11:3 彼は主を恐れることを楽しみとし、その目の見るところによって、さばきをなさず、その耳の聞くところによって、定めをなさず、
11:3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
11:4 正義をもって貧しい者をさばき、公平をもって国のうちの／柔和な者のために定めをなし、その口のむちをもって国を撃ち、そのくちびるの息をもって悪しき者を殺す。
11:4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall strike the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
11:5 正義はその腰の帯となり、忠信はその身の帯となる。
11:5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
11:6 おおかみは小羊と共にやどり、ひょうは子やぎと共に伏し、子牛、若じし、肥えたる家畜は共にいて、小さいわらべに導かれ、
11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
11:7 雌牛と熊とは食い物を共にし、牛の子と熊の子と共に伏し、ししは牛のようにわらを食い、
11:7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
11:8 乳のみ子は毒蛇のほらに戯れ、乳離れの子は手をまむしの穴に入れる。
11:8 And the nursing infant shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
11:9 彼らはわが聖なる山のどこにおいても、そこなうことなく、やぶることがない。水が海をおおっているように、主を知る知識が地に満ちるからである。
11:9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
11:10 その日、エッサイの根が立って、もろもろの民の旗となり、もろもろの国びとはこれに尋ね求め、その置かれる所に栄光がある。
11:10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an explicit sign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
11:11 その日、主は再び手を伸べて、その民の残れる者をアッスリヤ、エジプト、パテロス、エチオピヤ、エラム、シナル、ハマテおよび海沿いの国々からあがなわれる。
11:11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
11:12 主は国々のために旗をあげて、イスラエルの追いやられた者を集め、ユダの散らされた者を地の四方から集められる。
11:12 And he shall set up an explicit sign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
11:13 エフライムのねたみはうせ、ユダを悩ます者は断たれ、エフライムはユダをねたまず、ユダはエフライムを悩ますことはない。
11:13 The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.
11:14 しかし彼らは西の方ペリシテびとの肩に／襲いかかり、相共に東の民をかすめ、その手をエドムおよびモアブに伸べ、アンモンの人々をおのれに従わせる。
11:14 But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.
11:15 主はエジプトの海の舌をからし、川の上に手を振って熱い風を吹かせ、その川を打って七つの川となし、くつをぬらさないで渡らせられる。
11:15 And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall strike it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod.
11:16 その民の残れる者のために／アッスリヤからの大路があり、昔イスラエルがエジプトの国から／上ってきた時にあったようになる。
11:16 And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.
12:1 その日あなたは言う、「主よ、わたしはあなたに感謝します。あなたは、さきにわたしにむかって怒られたが、その怒りはやんで、わたしを慰められたからです。
12:1 And in that day you shall say, O LORD, I will praise you: though you were angry with me, yours anger is turned away, and you comforted me.
12:2 見よ、神はわが救である。わたしは信頼して恐れることはない。主なる神はわが力、わが歌であり、わが救となられたからである」。
12:2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
12:3 あなたがたは喜びをもって、救の井戸から水をくむ。
12:3 Therefore with joy shall all of you draw water out of the wells of salvation.
12:4 その日、あなたがたは言う、「主に感謝せよ。そのみ名を呼べ。そのみわざをもろもろの民の中につたえよ。そのみ名のあがむべきことを語りつげよ。
12:4 And in that day shall all of you say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.
12:5 主をほめうたえ。主はそのみわざを、みごとになし遂げられたから。これを全地に宣べ伝えよ。
12:5 Sing unto the LORD; for he has done excellent things: this is known in all the earth.
12:6 シオンに住む者よ、声をあげて、喜びうたえ。イスラエルの聖者はあなたがたのうちで／大いなる者だから」。
12:6 Cry out and shout, you inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of you.
13:1 アモツの子イザヤに示されたバビロンについての託宣。
13:1 The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.
13:2 あなたがたは木のない山に旗を立て、声をあげて彼らを招き、手を振って彼らを貴族の門に、はいらせよ。
13:2 Lift all of you up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.
13:3 わたしはわが怒りのさばきを行うために／聖別した者どもに命じ、わが勇士、わが勝ち誇る者どもを招いた。
13:3 I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for mine anger, even them that rejoice in my highness.
13:4 聞け、多くの民のような騒ぎ声が山々に聞える。聞け、もろもろの国々、寄りつどえる／もろもろの国民のざわめく声が聞える。これは万軍の主が／戦いのために軍勢を集められるのだ。
13:4 The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the LORD of hosts musters the host of the battle.
13:5 彼らは遠い国から、天の果から来る。これは、主とその憤りの器で、全地を滅ぼすために来るのだ。
13:5 They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.
13:6 あなたがたは泣き叫べ。主の日が近づき、滅びが全能者から来るからだ。
13:6 Wail all of you; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
13:7 それゆえ、すべての手は弱り、すべての人の心は溶け去る。
13:7 Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt:
13:8 彼らは恐れおののき、苦しみと悩みに捕えられ、子を産まんとする女のようにもだえ苦しみ、互に驚き、顔を見あわせ、その顔は炎のようになる。
13:8 And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that labors: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.
13:9 見よ、主の日が来る。残忍で、憤りと激しい怒りとをもってこの地を荒し、その中から罪びとを断ち滅ぼすために来る。
13:9 Behold, the day of the LORD comes, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
13:10 天の星とその星座とはその光を放たず、太陽は出ても暗く、月はその光を輝かさない。
13:10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
13:11 わたしはその悪のために世を罰し、その不義のために悪い者を罰し、高ぶる者の誇をとどめ、あらぶる者の高慢を低くする。
13:11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
13:12 わたしは人を精金よりも、オフルのこがねよりも少なくする。
13:12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.
13:13 それゆえ、万軍の主の憤りにより、その激しい怒りの日に、天は震い、地は揺り動いて、その所をはなれる。
13:13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
13:14 彼らは追われた、かもしかのように、あるいは集める者のない羊のようになって、おのおの自分の民に帰り、自分の国に逃げて行く。
13:14 And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man takes up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land.
13:15 すべて見いだされる者は刺され、すべて捕えられる者はつるぎによって倒され、
13:15 Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.
13:16 彼らのみどりごはその目の前で投げ砕かれ、その家はかすめ奪われ、その妻は汚される。
13:16 Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.
13:17 見よ、わたしは、しろがねをも顧みず、こがねをも喜ばないメデアびとを起して、彼らにむかわせる。
13:17 Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.
13:18 彼らの弓は若い者を射殺し、腹の実をあわれむことなく、幼な子を見て、惜しむことがない。
13:18 Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eyes shall not spare children.
13:19 国々の誉であり、カルデヤびとの誇である麗しいバビロンは、神に滅ぼされたソドム、ゴモラのようになる。
13:19 And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
13:20 ここにはながく住む者が絶え、世々にいたるまで住みつく者がなく、アラビヤびともそこに天幕を張らず、羊飼もそこに群れを伏させることがない。
13:20 It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.
13:21 ただ、野の獣がそこに伏し、ほえる獣がその家に満ち、だちょうがそこに住み、鬼神がそこに踊る。
13:21 But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.
13:22 ハイエナはその城の中で鳴き、山犬は楽しい宮殿でほえる。その時の来るのは近い、その日は延びることがない。
13:22 And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.
14:1 主はヤコブをあわれみ、イスラエルを再び選んで、これをおのれの地に置かれる。異邦人はこれに加わって、ヤコブの家に結びつらなり、
14:1 For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.
14:2 もろもろの民は彼らを連れてその所に導いて来る。そしてイスラエルの家は、主の地で彼らを男女の奴隷とし、さきに自分たちを捕虜にした者を捕虜にし、自分たちをしえたげた者を治める。
14:2 And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.
14:3 主があなたの苦労と不安とを除き、またあなたが服した苦役を除いて、安息をお与えになるとき、
14:3 And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give you rest from your sorrow, and from your fear, and from the hard bondage wherein you were made to serve,
14:4 あなたはこのあざけりの歌をとなえ、バビロンの王をののしって言う、「あの、しえたげる者は全く絶えてしまった。あの、おごる者は全く絶えてしまった。
14:4 That you shall take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How has the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!
14:5 主は悪い者のつえと、つかさびとの笏を折られた。
14:5 The LORD has broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers.
14:6 彼らは憤りをもってもろもろの民を／絶えず撃っては打ち、怒りをもってもろもろの国を治めても、そのしえたげをとどめる者がなかった。
14:6 He who stroke the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hinders.
14:7 全地はやすみを得、穏やかになり、ことごとく声をあげて歌う。
14:7 The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.
14:8 いとすぎおよびレバノンの香柏でさえも／あなたのゆえに喜んで言う、『あなたはすでに倒れたので、もはや、きこりが上ってきて、われわれを攻めることはない』。
14:8 Yea, the fir trees rejoice at you, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since you are laid down, no tree chopper has come up against us.
14:9 下の陰府はあなたのために動いて、あなたの来るのを迎え、地のもろもろの指導者たちの亡霊を／あなたのために起し、国々のもろもろの王を／その王座から立ちあがらせる。
14:9 Hell from beneath is moved for you to meet you at your coming: it stirs up the dead for you, even all the chief ones of the earth; it has raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.
14:10 彼らは皆あなたに告げて言う、『あなたもまたわれわれのように弱くなった、あなたもわれわれと同じようになった』。
14:10 All they shall speak and say unto you, Are you also become weak as we? are you become like unto us?
14:11 あなたの栄華とあなたの琴の音は／陰府に落ちてしまった。うじはあなたの下に敷かれ、みみずはあなたをおおっている。
14:11 Your pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of your viols: the worm is spread under you, and the worms cover you.
14:12 黎明の子、明けの明星よ、あなたは天から落ちてしまった。もろもろの国を倒した者よ、あなたは切られて地に倒れてしまった。
14:12 How are you fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how are you cut down to the ground, which did weaken the nations!
14:13 あなたはさきに心のうちに言った、『わたしは天にのぼり、わたしの王座を高く神の星の上におき、北の果なる集会の山に座し、
14:13 For you have said in yours heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14:14 雲のいただきにのぼり、いと高き者のようになろう』。
14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
14:15 しかしあなたは陰府に落され、穴の奥底に入れられる。
14:15 Yet you shall be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
14:16 あなたを見る者はつくづくあなたを見、あなたに目をとめて言う、『この人は地を震わせ、国々を動かし、
14:16 They that see you shall narrowly look upon you, and consider you, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
14:17 世界を荒野のようにし、その都市をこわし、捕えた者をその家に／解き帰さなかった者であるのか』。
14:17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?
14:18 もろもろの国の王たちは皆／尊いさまで、自分の墓に眠る。
14:18 All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.
14:19 しかしあなたは忌みきらわれる月足らぬ子のように／墓のそとに捨てられ、つるぎで刺し殺された者でおおわれ、踏みつけられる死体のように穴の石に下る。
14:19 But you are cast out of your grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcass trodden under feet.
14:20 あなたは自分の国を滅ぼし、自分の民を殺したために、彼らと共に葬られることはない。どうか、悪を行う者の子孫は／とこしえに名を呼ばれることのないように。
14:20 You shall not be joined with them in burial, because you have destroyed your land, and slain your people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.
14:21 先祖のよこしまのゆえに、その子孫のためにほふり場を備えよ。これは彼らが起って地を取り、世界のおもてに町々を／満たすことのないためである」。
14:21 Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.
14:22 万軍の主は言われる、「わたしは立って彼らを攻め、バビロンからその名と、残れる者、その子と孫とを断ち滅ぼす、と主は言う。
14:22 For I will rise up against them, says the LORD of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, says the LORD.
14:23 わたしはこれをはりねずみのすみかとし、水の池とし、滅びのほうきをもって、これを払い除く、と万軍の主は言う」。
14:23 I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, says the LORD of hosts.
14:24 万軍の主は誓って言われる、「わたしが思ったように必ず成り、わたしが定めたように必ず立つ。
14:24 The LORD of hosts has sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:
14:25 わたしはアッスリヤびとをわが地で打ち破り、わが山々で彼を踏みにじる。こうして彼が置いたくびきは／イスラエルびとから離れ、彼が負わせた重荷は／イスラエルびとの肩から離れる」。
14:25 That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.
14:26 これは全地について定められた計画である。これは国々の上に伸ばされた手である。
14:26 This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.
14:27 万軍の主が定められるとき、だれがそれを取り消すことができるのか。その手を伸ばされるとき、だれがそれを引きもどすことができるのか。
14:27 For the LORD of hosts has purposed, and who shall nullify it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?
14:28 アハズ王の死んだ年にこの託宣があった、
14:28 In the year that king Ahaz died was this burden.
14:29 「ペリシテの全地よ、あなたを打ったむちが／折られたことを喜んではならない。へびの根からまむしが出、その実は飛びかけるへびとなるからだ。
14:29 Rejoice not you, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that stroke you is broken: for out of the serpent's root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.
14:30 いと貧しい者は食を得、乏しい者は安らかに伏す。しかし、わたしはききんをもって／あなたの子孫を殺し、あなたの残れる者を滅ぼす。
14:30 And the firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety: and I will kill your root with famine, and he shall slay your remnant.
14:31 門よ、泣きわめけ。町よ、叫べ。ペリシテの全地よ、恐れのあまり消えうせよ、北から煙が来るからだ。その隊列からは、ひとりも脱落する者はない」。
14:31 Wail, O gate; cry, O city; you, whole Palestina, are dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.
14:32 その国の使者たちになんと答えようか。「主はシオンの基をおかれた、その民の苦しむ者は／この中に避け所を得る」と答えよ。
14:32 What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD has founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.
