Hosea / ホセア書
1:1 ユダヤの王ウジヤ、ヨタム、アハズ、ヒゼキヤの世、イスラエルの王ヨアシの子ヤラベアムの世に、ベエリの子ホセアに臨んだ主の言葉。
1:1 The word of the LORD that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.
1:2 主が最初ホセアによって語られた時、主はホセアに言われた、「行って、淫行の妻と、淫行によって生れた子らを受けいれよ。この国は主にそむいて、はなはだしい淫行をなしているからである」。
1:2 The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take unto you a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land has committed great whoredom, departing from the LORD.
1:3 そこで彼は行ってデブライムの娘ゴメルをめとった。彼女はみごもって男の子を産んだ。
1:3 So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a son.
1:4 主はまた彼に言われた、「あなたはその子の名をエズレルと名づけよ。しばらくしてわたしはエズレルの血のためにエヒウの家を罰し、イスラエルの家の国を滅ぼすからである。
1:4 And the LORD said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.
1:5 その日、わたしはエズレルの谷でイスラエルの弓を折る」と。
1:5 And it shall come to pass at that day, that I will break the bow of Israel, in the valley of Jezreel.
1:6 ゴメルはまたみごもって女の子を産んだ。主はホセアに言われた、「あなたはその名をロルハマと名づけよ。わたしはもはやイスラエルの家をあわれまず、決してこれをゆるさないからである。
1:6 And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Loruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away.
1:7 しかし、わたしはユダの家をあわれみ、その神、主によってこれを救う。わたしは弓、つるぎ、戦争、馬および騎兵によって救うのではない」と。
1:7 But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen.
1:8 ゴメルはロルハマを乳離れさせたとき、またみごもって男の子を産んだ。
1:8 Now when she had weaned Loruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son.
1:9 主は言われた、「その子の名をロアンミと名づけよ。あなたがたは、わたしの民ではなく、わたしは、あなたがたの神ではないからである」。
1:9 Then said God, Call his name Loammi: for all of you are not my people, and I will not be your God.
1:10 しかしイスラエルの人々の数は海の砂のように量ることも、数えることもできないほどになって、さきに彼らが「あなたがたは、わたしの民ではない」と言われたその所で、「あなたがたは生ける神の子である」と言われるようになる。
1:10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, All of you are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, All of you are the sons of the living God.
1:11 そしてユダの人々とイスラエルの人々は共に集まり、ひとりの長を立てて、その地からのぼって来る。エズレルの日は大いなるものとなる。
1:11 Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel.
2:1 あなたがたの兄弟に向かっては「アンミ（わが民）」と言い、あなたがたの姉妹に向かっては「ルハマ（あわれまれる者）」と言え。
2:1 Say all of you unto your brethren, Ammi; and to your sisters, Ruhamah.
2:2 「あなたがたの母とあげつらえ、あげつらえ――彼女はわたしの妻ではない、わたしは彼女の夫ではない――そして彼女にその顔から淫行を除かせ、その乳ぶさの間から姦淫を除かせよ。
2:2 Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts;
2:3 そうでなければ、わたしは彼女の着物をはいで裸にし、その生れ出た日のようにし、また荒野のようにし、かわききった地のようにし、かわきによって彼女を殺す。
2:3 Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and slay her with thirst.
2:4 わたしはその子らをあわれまない、彼らは淫行の子らだからである。
2:4 And I will not have mercy upon her children; for they be the children of whoredoms.
2:5 彼らの母は淫行をなし、彼らをはらんだ彼女は恥ずべきことを行った。彼女は言った、『わたしはわが恋人たちについて行こう。彼らはパンと水と羊の毛と麻と油と飲み物とを、わたしに与える者である』と。
2:5 For their mother has played the harlot: she that conceived them has done shamefully: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink.
2:6 それゆえ、わたしはいばらで彼女の道をふさぎ、かきをたてて、彼女には／その道がわからないようにする。
2:6 Therefore, behold, I will hedge up your way with thorns, and make a wall, that she shall not find her paths.
2:7 彼女はその恋人たちのあとを慕って行く、しかし彼らに追いつくことはない。彼らを尋ねる、しかし見いだすことはない。そこで彼女は言う、『わたしは行って、さきの夫に帰ろう。あの時は今よりもわたしによかったから』と。
2:7 And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, but shall not find them: then shall she say, I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.
2:8 彼女に穀物と酒と油とを与えた者、またバアルのために用いた銀と金とを／多く彼女に与えた者は、わたしであったことを彼女は知らなかった。
2:8 For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal.
2:9 それゆえ、わたしは穀物をその時になって奪い、ぶどう酒をその季節になって奪い、また彼女の裸をおおうために用いる／羊の毛と麻とを奪い取る。
2:9 Therefore will I return, and take away my corn in the time thereof, and my wine in the season thereof, and will recover my wool and my flax given to cover her nakedness.
2:10 わたしは今、彼女のみだらなことを／その恋人たちの目の前にあらわす。だれも彼女をわたしの手から救う者はない。
2:10 And now will I discover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of mine hand.
2:11 わたしは彼女のすべての楽しみ、すなわち祝、新月、安息日、すべての祭をやめさせる。
2:11 I will also cause all her delight to cease, her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her solemn feasts.
2:12 わたしはまた彼女が先に『これはわたしの恋人らが、わたしに与えた報酬だ』と言った彼女の／ぶどうの木と、いちじくの木とを荒し、これを林とし、野の獣にこれを食わせる。
2:12 And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, whereof she has said, These are my rewards that my lovers have given me: and I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.
2:13 また彼女が耳輪と宝石で身を飾り、その恋人たちを慕って行って、わたしを忘れ、香をたいて仕えたバアルの祭の日のために、わたしは彼女を罰すると主は言われる。
2:13 And I will visit upon her the days of Baalim, wherein she burned incense to them, and she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and she went after her lovers, and forgotten about me, says the LORD.
2:14 それゆえ、見よ、わたしは彼女をいざなって、荒野に導いて行き、ねんごろに彼女に語ろう。
2:14 Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her.
2:15 その所でわたしは彼女にそのぶどう畑を与え、アコルの谷を望みの門として与える。その所で彼女は若かった日のように、エジプトの国からのぼって来た時のように、答えるであろう。
2:15 And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.
2:16 主は言われる、その日には、あなたはわたしを『わが夫』と呼び、もはや『わがバアル』とは呼ばない。
2:16 And it shall be at that day, says the LORD, that you shall call me Ishi; and shall call me no more Baali.
2:17 わたしはもろもろのバアルの名を彼女の口から取り除き、重ねてその名をとなえることのないようにする。
2:17 For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name.
2:18 その日には、わたしはまたあなたのために野の獣、空の鳥および地の這うものと契約を結び、また弓と、つるぎと、戦争とを地から断って、あなたを安らかに伏させる。
2:18 And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely.
2:19 またわたしは永遠にあなたとちぎりを結ぶ。すなわち正義と、公平と、いつくしみと、あわれみとをもってちぎりを結ぶ。
2:19 And I will betroth you unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth you unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in loving kindness, and in mercies.
2:20 わたしは真実をもって、あなたとちぎりを結ぶ。そしてあなたは主を知るであろう。
2:20 I will even betroth you unto me in faithfulness: and you shall know the LORD.
2:21 主は言われる、その日わたしは天に答え、天は地に答える。
2:21 And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, says the LORD, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth;
2:22 地は穀物と酒と油とに答え、またこれらのものはエズレルに答える。
2:22 And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel.
2:23 わたしはわたしのために彼を地にまき、あわれまれぬ者をあわれみ、わたしの民でない者に向かって、『あなたはわたしの民である』と言い、彼は『あなたはわたしの神である』と言う」。
2:23 And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, You are my people; and they shall say, You are my God.
3:1 主はわたしに言われた、「あなたは再び行って、イスラエルの人々が他の神々に転じて、干ぶどうの菓子を愛するにもかかわらず、主がこれを愛せられるように、姦夫に愛せられる女、姦淫を行う女を愛せよ」と。
3:1 Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.
3:2 そこでわたしは銀十五シケルと大麦一ホメル半とをもって彼女を買い取った。
3:2 So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley:
3:3 わたしは彼女に言った、「あなたは長くわたしの所にとどまって、淫行をなさず、また他の人のものとなってはならない。わたしもまた、あなたにそうしよう」と。
3:3 And I said unto her, You shall abide for me many days; you shall not play the harlot, and you shall not be for another man: so will I also be for you.
3:4 イスラエルの子らは多くの日の間、王なく、君なく、犠牲なく、柱なく、エポデおよびテラピムもなく過ごす。
3:4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim:
3:5 そしてその後イスラエルの子らは帰って来て、その神、主と、その王ダビデとをたずね求め、終りの日におののいて、主とその恵みに向かって来る。
3:5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.
4:1 イスラエルの人々よ、主の言葉を聞け。主はこの地に住む者と争われる。この地には真実がなく、愛情がなく、また神を知ることもないからである。
4:1 Hear the word of the LORD, all of you children of Israel: for the LORD has a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
4:2 ただのろいと、偽りと、人殺しと、盗みと、姦淫することのみで、人々は皆荒れ狂い、殺害に殺害が続いている。
4:2 By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood touches blood.
4:3 それゆえ、この地は嘆き、これに住む者はみな、野の獣も空の鳥も共に衰え、海の魚さえも絶えはてる。
4:3 Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwells therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.
4:4 しかし、だれも争ってはならない、責めてはならない。祭司よ。わたしの争うのは、あなたと争うのだ。
4:4 Yet let no man strive, nor reprove another: for your people are as they that strive with the priest.
4:5 あなたは昼つまずき、預言者もまたあなたと共に夜つまずく。わたしはあなたの母を滅ぼす。
4:5 Therefore shall you fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with you in the night, and I will destroy your mother.
4:6 わたしの民は知識がないために滅ぼされる。あなたは知識を捨てたゆえに、わたしもあなたを捨てて、わたしの祭司としない。あなたはあなたの神の律法を忘れたゆえに、わたしもまたあなたの子らを忘れる。
4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you shall be no priest to me: seeing you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.
4:7 彼らは大きくなるにしたがって、ますますわたしに罪を犯したゆえ、わたしは彼らの栄えを恥に変える。
4:7 As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.
4:8 彼らはわが民の罪を食いものにし、その罪を犯すことをせつに願っている。
4:8 They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity.
4:9 それゆえ祭司も民と同じようになる。わたしはそのわざのために彼らを罰し、そのおこないのために彼らに報いる。
4:9 And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings.
4:10 彼らは食べても飽くことなく、淫行をなしてもその数を増すことがない。彼らは主を捨てて、淫行を愛したからである。
4:10 For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the LORD.
4:11 酒と新しい酒とは思慮を奪う。
4:11 Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.
4:12 わが民は木に向かって事を尋ねる。またそのつえは彼らに事を示す。これは淫行の霊が彼らを迷わしたからである。彼らはその神を捨てて淫行をなした。
4:12 My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declares unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms has caused them to go astray, and they have gone a whoring from under their God.
4:13 彼らは山々の頂で犠牲をささげ、丘の上、かしの木、柳の木、テレビンの木の下で供え物をささげる。これはその木陰がここちよいためである。それゆえ、あなたがたの娘は淫行をなし、あなたがたの嫁は姦淫を行う。
4:13 They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters shall commit whoredom, and your spouses shall commit adultery.
4:14 わたしはあなたがたの娘が淫行をしても罰しない。またあなたがたの嫁が姦淫を行っても罰しない。男たちみずから遊女と共に離れ去り、宮の遊女と共に犠牲をささげているからである。悟りのない民は滅びる。
4:14 I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that does not understand shall fall.
4:15 イスラエルよ、あなたは淫行をなしても、ユダに罪を犯させてはならない。ギルガルへ行ってはならない。ベテアベンにのぼってはならない。また「主は生きておられる」と言って／誓ってはならない。
4:15 Though you, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah offend; and come not all of you unto Gilgal, neither go all of you up to Bethaven, nor swear, The LORD lives.
4:16 イスラエルは強情な雌牛のように強情である。今、主は小羊を広い野に放つようにして、彼らを養うことができようか。
4:16 For Israel slides back as a backsliding heifer: now the LORD will feed them as a lamb in a large place.
4:17 エフライムは偶像に結びつらなった。そのなすにまかせよ。
4:17 Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone.
4:18 彼らは酒宴のとりことなり、淫行にふけっている。彼らはその光栄よりも恥を愛する。
4:18 Their drink is sour: they have committed whoredom continually: her rulers with shame do love, Give all of you.
4:19 風はその翼に彼らを包んだ。彼らはその祭壇のゆえに恥を受ける。
4:19 The wind has bound her up in her wings, and they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices.
5:1 祭司たちよ、これを聞け、イスラエルの家よ、心をとめよ、王の家よ、耳を傾けよ、さばきはあなたがたに臨む。あなたがたはミヅパにわなを設け、タボルの上に網を張ったからだ。
5:1 Hear all of you this, O priests; and hearken, all of you house of Israel; and give all of you ear, O house of the king; for judgment is toward you, because all of you have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.
5:2 彼らはシッテムの穴を深くしたが、わたしは彼らをことごとく懲らしめる。
5:2 And the apostates are profound to make slaughter, though I have been a rebuker of them all.
5:3 わたしはエフライムを知っている。イスラエルはわたしに隠れることがない。エフライムよ、あなたは今淫行をなし、イスラエルは汚された。
5:3 I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for now, O Ephraim, you commit whoredom, and Israel is defiled.
5:4 彼らのおこないは彼らを神に帰らせない。それは淫行の霊が彼らのうちにあって、主を知ることができないからだ。
5:4 They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God: for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they have not known the LORD.
5:5 イスラエルの誇はその顔に向かって証言している。エフライムはその不義によってつまずき、ユダもまた彼らと共につまずく。
5:5 And the pride of Israel does testify to his face: therefore shall Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquity: Judah also shall fall with them.
5:6 彼らは羊の群れ、牛の群れを携えて行って、主を求めても、主に会うことはない。主は彼らから離れ去られた。
5:6 They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the LORD; but they shall not find him; he has withdrawn himself from them.
5:7 彼らは主にむかって貞操を守らず、ほかの者の子を産んだ。新月は彼らをその田畑と共に滅ぼす。
5:7 They have dealt treacherously against the LORD: for they have begotten strange children: now shall a month devour them with their portions.
5:8 ギベアで角笛を吹き、ラマでラッパを鳴らし、ベテアベンで呼ばわり叫べ。ベニヤミンよ、おののけ。
5:8 Blow all of you the cornet in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah: cry aloud at Bethaven, after you, O Benjamin.
5:9 エフライムは刑罰の日に荒れすたれる。わたしはイスラエルの部族のうちに、必ず起るべき事を知らせる。
5:9 Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which shall surely be.
5:10 ユダの君たちは境を移す者のようになった。わたしはわが怒りを水のように彼らの上に注ぐ。
5:10 The princes of Judah were like them that remove the bound: therefore I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.
5:11 エフライムは甘んじて、むなしいものに従って歩んだゆえ、さばきを受けて、しえたげられ、打ちひしがれる。
5:11 Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the commandment.
5:12 それゆえ、わたしはエフライムには、しみのように、ユダの家には腐れのようになる。
5:12 Therefore will I be unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.
5:13 エフライムはおのれの病を見、ユダはおのれの傷を見たとき、エフライムはアッスリヤに行き、大王に人をつかわした。しかし彼はあなたがたをいやすことができない。また、あなたがたの傷をなおすことができない。
5:13 When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.
5:14 わたしはエフライムに対しては、ししのようになり、ユダの家に対しては若きししのようになる。わたしは、わたしこそ、かき裂いて去り、かすめて行くが、だれも救う者はない。
5:14 For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him.
5:15 わたしは彼らがその罪を認めて、わが顔をたずね求めるまで、わたしの所に帰っていよう。彼らは悩みによって、わたしを尋ね求めて言う、
5:15 I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.
6:1 「さあ、わたしたちは主に帰ろう。主はわたしたちをかき裂かれたが、またいやし、わたしたちを打たれたが、また包んでくださるからだ。
6:1 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he has torn, and he will heal us; he has smitten, and he will bind us up.
6:2 主は、ふつかの後、わたしたちを生かし、三日目にわたしたちを立たせられる。わたしたちはみ前で生きる。
6:2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
6:3 わたしたちは主を知ろう、せつに主を知ることを求めよう。主はあしたの光のように必ず現れいで、冬の雨のように、わたしたちに臨み、春の雨のように地を潤される」。
6:3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
6:4 エフライムよ、わたしはあなたに何をしようか。ユダよ、わたしはあなたに何をしようか。あなたがたの愛はあしたの雲のごとく、また、たちまち消える露のようなものである。
6:4 O Ephraim, what shall I do unto you? O Judah, what shall I do unto you? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goes away.
6:5 それゆえ、わたしは預言者たちによって／彼らを切り倒し、わが口の言葉をもって彼らを殺した。わがさばきは現れ出る光のようだ。
6:5 Therefore have I hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and your judgments are as the light that goes forth.
6:6 わたしはいつくしみを喜び、犠牲を喜ばない。燔祭よりもむしろ神を知ることを喜ぶ。
6:6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
6:7 ところが彼らはアダムで契約を破り、かしこでわたしにそむいた。
6:7 But they like men have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me.
6:8 ギレアデは悪を行う者の町で、血の足跡で満たされている。
6:8 Gilead is a city of them that work iniquity, and is polluted with blood.
6:9 盗賊が人を待ち伏せするように、祭司たちは党を組み、シケムへ行く道で人を殺す。このように彼らは悪しき事を行う。
6:9 And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness.
6:10 わたしはイスラエルの家に恐るべき事を見た。かしこでエフライムは淫行をなし、イスラエルは汚された。
6:10 I have seen an horrible thing in the house of Israel: there is the whoredom of Ephraim, Israel is defiled.
6:11 ユダよ、あなたのためにも刈入れが定められている。わたしがわが民の繁栄を回復するとき、
6:11 Also, O Judah, he has set an harvest for you, when I returned the captivity of my people.
7:1 わたしがイスラエルをいやすとき、エフライムの不義と、サマリヤの悪しきわざとは現れる。彼らは偽りをおこない、内では盗びとが押し入り、外では山賊の群れが襲いきたる。
7:1 When I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit falsehood; and the thief comes in, and the troop of robbers spoils without.
7:2 しかし、彼らはわたしが彼らのすべての悪を／覚えていることを悟らない。今、そのわざは彼らを囲んで、わたしの顔の前にある。
7:2 And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them about; they are before my face.
7:3 彼らはその悪をもって王を喜ばせ、その偽りをもって君たちを喜ばせる。
7:3 They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.
7:4 彼らはみな姦淫を行う者で、パンを焼く者が熱くする炉のようだ。パンを焼く者は、ねり粉をこねてから、それがふくれるまで、しばらく、火をおこす事をしないだけだ。
7:4 They are all adulterers, as an oven heated by the baker, who ceases from raising after he has kneaded the dough, until it be leavened.
7:5 われわれの王の日に、つかさたちは酒の熱によって病みわずらい、王はあざける者と共に手を伸べた。
7:5 In the day of our king the princes have made him sick with bottles of wine; he stretched out his hand with scorners.
7:6 彼らは陰謀をもってその心を炉のように燃やす。その怒りは夜通しくすぶり、朝になると炎のように燃える。
7:6 For they have made ready their heart like an oven, while they lie in wait: their baker sleeps all the night; in the morning it burns as a flaming fire.
7:7 彼らは皆、炉のように熱くなって、そのさばきびとを焼き滅ぼす。そのもろもろの王は皆たおれる。彼らの中にはわたしを呼ぶ者がひとりもない。
7:7 They are all hot as an oven, and have devoured their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calls unto me.
7:8 エフライムはもろもろの民の中に入り混じる。エフライムは火にかけて、かえさない菓子である。
7:8 Ephraim, he has mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned.
7:9 他国人らは彼の力を食い尽すが、彼はそれを知らない。しらがが混じってはえても、それを悟らない。
7:9 Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knows it not: yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, yet he knows not.
7:10 イスラエルの誇は自らに向かって証言している、彼らはこのもろもろの事があっても、なおその神、主に帰らず、また主を求めない。
7:10 And the pride of Israel testifies to his face: and they do not return to the LORD their God, nor seek him for all this.
7:11 エフライムは知恵のない愚かな、はとのようだ。彼らはエジプトに向かって呼び求め、またアッスリヤへ行く。
7:11 Ephraim also is like a silly dove without heart: they call to Egypt, they go to Assyria.
7:12 彼らが行くとき、わたしは彼らの上に網を張って、空の鳥のように引き落し、その悪しきおこないのゆえに、彼らを懲らしめる。
7:12 When they shall go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the fowls of the heaven; I will chastise them, as their congregation has heard.
7:13 わざわいなるかな、彼らはわたしを離れて迷い出た。滅びは彼らに臨む。彼らがわたしに向かって罪を犯したからだ。わたしは彼らをあがなおうと思うが、彼らはわたしに逆らって偽りを言う。
7:13 Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction unto them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against me.
7:14 彼らは真心をもってわたしを呼ばず、ただ床の上で悲しみ叫ぶ。彼らは穀物と酒のためには集まるが、わたしに逆らう。
7:14 And they have not cried unto me with their heart, when they howled upon their beds: they assemble themselves for corn and wine, and they rebel against me.
7:15 わたしは彼らを教え、その腕を強くしたが、彼らはわたしに逆らって、悪しき事をはかる。
7:15 Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet do they imagine mischief against me.
7:16 彼らはバアルに帰る。彼らはあざむく弓のようだ。彼らの君たちはその舌の高ぶりのために、つるぎに倒れる。これはエジプトの国で人々のあざけりとなる。
7:16 They return, but not to the most High: they are like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.
8:1 ラッパをあなたの口にあてよ、はげたかは主の家に臨む。彼らがわたしの契約を破り、わたしの律法を犯したからだ。
8:1 Set the trumpet to your mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.
8:2 彼らはわたしに向かって叫ぶ、「わが神よ、われわれイスラエルはあなたを知る」と。
8:2 Israel shall cry unto me, My God, we know you.
8:3 イスラエルは善はしりぞけた。敵はこれを追うであろう。
8:3 Israel has cast off the thing that is good: the enemy shall pursue him.
8:4 彼らは王を立てた、しかし、わたしによって立てたのではない。彼らは君を立てた、しかし、わたしはこれを知らない。彼らは銀と金をもって、自分たちの滅びのために偶像を造った。
8:4 They have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
8:5 サマリヤよ、わたしはあなたの子牛を忌みきらう。わたしの怒りは彼らに向かって燃える。彼らはいつになればイスラエルで／罪なき者となるであろうか。
8:5 Your calf, O Samaria, has cast you off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will it be before they attain to innocence?
8:6 これは工人の作ったもので、神ではない。サマリヤの子牛は砕けて粉となる。
8:6 For from Israel was it also: the workman made it; therefore it is not God: but the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
8:7 彼らは風をまいて、つむじ風を刈り取る。立っている穀物は穂を持たず、また実らない。たとい実っても、他国人がこれを食い尽す。
8:7 For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it has no stalk; the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.
8:8 イスラエルはのまれた。彼らは諸国民の間にあって、すでに無用な器のようになった。
8:8 Israel is swallowed up: now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessel wherein is no pleasure.
8:9 彼らはひとりさまよう野のろばのように、アッスリヤにのぼって行った。エフライムは物を贈って恋人を得た。
8:9 For they are gone up to Assyria, a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim has hired lovers.
8:10 たとい彼らが国々に物を贈って同盟者を得ても、わたしはまもなく彼らを集める。彼らはしばらくにして、王や君たちに油をそそぐことをやめる。
8:10 Yea, though they have hired among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall sorrow a little for the burden of the king of princes.
8:11 エフライムは多くの祭壇を造って罪を犯したゆえ、これは彼には罪を犯すための祭壇となった。
8:11 Because Ephraim has made many altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.
8:12 わたしは彼のために、あまたの律法を書きしるしたが、これはかえって怪しい物のように思われた。
8:12 I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing.
8:13 彼らは犠牲を好み、肉をささげてこれを食べる。しかし主はこれを喜ばれない。今、彼らの不義を覚え、彼らの罪を罰せられる。彼らはエジプトに帰る。
8:13 They sacrifice flesh for the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it; but the LORD accepts them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.
8:14 イスラエルは自分の造り主を忘れて、もろもろの宮殿を建てた。ユダは堅固な町々を多く増し加えた。しかしわたしは火をその町々に送って、もろもろの城を焼き滅ぼす。
8:14 For Israel has forgotten his Maker, and builds temples; and Judah has multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.
9:1 イスラエル よ， もろもろの 民のように 喜びおどるな． あなたは 淫行をなして， あなたの 神を 離れ， すべての 穀物の 打ち 場で 受ける 淫行の 價を 愛した．
9:1 Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, as other people: for you have gone a whoring from your God, you have loved a reward upon floors of corn.
9:2 打ち 場と 酒ぶねとは 彼らを 養わない． また 新しい 酒もむなしくなる．
9:2 The floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail in her.
9:3 彼らは 主の 地に 住むことなく， エフライム は エジプト に 歸り， アッスリヤ で 汚れた 物を 食べる．
9:3 They shall not dwell in the LORD's land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean things in Assyria.
9:4 彼らは 主に 向かって 酒を 注がず， また ¿牲をもって 主を 喜ばせず， 彼らの パン は 喪におる 者の パン のようで， すべてこれを 食べる 者は 汚される． 彼らの パン はただ 自分の 飢えを 滿たすためで， 主の 家に， はいることはできない．
9:4 They shall not offer wine offerings to the LORD, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted: for their bread for their soul shall not come into the house of the LORD.
9:5 あなたがたは 祝の 日と， 主の 祭の 日に， 何をしようとするのか．
9:5 What will all of you do in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?
9:6 見よ， 彼らは アッスリヤ へ 行く． エジプト は 彼らを 集め， メンピス は 彼らを 葬る． あざみは 彼らの 銀の 寶物を 所有し， いばらは 彼らの 天幕にはびこる．
9:6 For, lo, they are gone because of destruction: Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them: the pleasant places for their silver, nettles shall possess them: thorns shall be in their tabernacles.
9:7 刑罰の 日は 來た． 報いの 日は 來た． イスラエル はこれを 知る． 預言者は 愚かな 者， ?に 感じた 人は 狂った 者だ． これはあなたがたの 不義が 多く， 恨みが 大きいためである．
9:7 The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of yours iniquity, and the great hatred.
9:8 預言者はわが 神の 民 エフライム の 見張人である． しかし 預言者のすべての 道には ／鳥をとる 者のわながあり， 恨みはその 神の 家にある．
9:8 The watchman of Ephraim was with my God: but the prophet is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God.
9:9 彼らは ギベア の 日のように， 深くおのれを 腐らせた． 主はその 不義を 覺え， その 罪を 罰せられる．
9:9 They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah: therefore he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.
9:10 わたしは イスラエル を 荒野のぶどうのように 見， あなたがたの 先祖たちを， いちじくの 木の 初めに 結んだ 初なりのように 見た． ところが 彼らは バアル ペオル へ 行き， 身を バアル にゆだね， 彼らが 愛した 物と 同じように 憎むべき 者となった．
9:10 I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the first-fruits in the fig tree at her first time: but they went to Baalpeor, and separated themselves unto that shame; and their abominations were according as they loved.
9:11 エフライム の 榮光は， 鳥のようにとび 去る． すなわち 産むことも， はらむことも， みごもることもなくなる．
9:11 As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird, from the birth, and from the womb, and from the conception.
9:12 たとい 彼らが 子を 育てても， わたしはその 子を 奪って， 殘る 者のないようにする． わたしが 彼らを 離れるとき， 彼らはわざわいだ．
9:12 Though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, that there shall not be a man left: yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!
9:13 わたしが 見たように， エフライム の 子らはえじきに 定められた． エフライム はその 子らを， 人を 殺す 者に 渡さなければならない．
9:13 Ephraim, as I saw Tyrus, is planted in a pleasant place: but Ephraim shall bring forth his children to the murderer.
9:14 主よ， 彼らに 與えてください． あなたは 何を 與えられますか． 流産の 胎と， かわいた 乳ぶさを ／彼らに 與えてください．
9:14 Give them, O LORD: what will you give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.
9:15 彼らのすべての ?は ギルガル にある． わたしはかしこで 彼らを 憎んだ． 彼らのおこないの ?しきがゆえに， 彼らをわが 家から 追いだし， 重ねて 愛することをしない． その 君たちはみな， 反逆者である．
9:15 All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are apostates.
9:16 エフライム は ?たれ， その 根は 枯れて， 實を 結ばない． たとい 彼らが 子を 産んでも， わたしはそのいつくしむ 子らを 殺す．
9:16 Ephraim is smitten, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit: yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb.
9:17 彼らは 聞き 從わないので， わが 神はこれを 捨てられる． 彼らはもろもろの 國民のうちに， さすらい 人となる．
9:17 My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto him: and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
10:1 イスラエルは実を結ぶ茂った／ぶどうの木である。その実を多く結ぶにしたがって、祭壇を増し、その地の豊かなるにしたがって、柱の像を麗しくした。
10:1 Israel is an empty vine, he brings forth fruit unto himself: according to the multitude of his fruit he has increased the altars; according to the goodness of his land they have made goodly images.
10:2 彼らの心は偽りである。今、彼らはその罪を負わなければならない。主はその祭壇をこわし、その柱の像を砕かれる。
10:2 Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall spoil their images.
10:3 今、彼らは言う、「われわれは主を恐れないので、われわれには王がない。王はわれわれのために何をなしえようか」と。
10:3 For now they shall say, We have no king, because we feared not the LORD; what then should a king do to us?
10:4 彼らはむなしき言葉をいだし、偽りの誓いをもって契約を結ぶ。それゆえ、さばきは畑のうねの毒草のように現れる。
10:4 They have spoken words, swearing falsely in making a covenant: thus judgment springs up as hemlock in the furrows of the field.
10:5 サマリヤの住民は、ベテアベンの子牛のためにおののき、その民はこれがために嘆き、その偶像に仕える祭司たちは、その栄光のうせたるがために泣き悲しむ。
10:5 The inhabitants of Samaria shall fear because of the calves of Bethaven: for the people thereof shall mourn over it, and the priests thereof that rejoiced on it, for the glory thereof, because it is departed from it.
10:6 その子牛はアッスリヤに携えられ、礼物として大王にささげられ、エフライムは恥をうけ、イスラエルはおのれの偶像を恥じる。
10:6 It shall be also carried unto Assyria for a present to king Jareb: Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.
10:7 サマリヤの王は、水のおもての木切れのように滅ぼされる。
10:7 As for Samaria, her king is cut off as the foam upon the water.
10:8 イスラエルの罪であるアベンの高き所も滅び、いばらとあざみがその祭壇の上にはえ茂る。その時彼らは山に向かって、「われわれをおおえ」と言い、丘に向かって「われわれの上に倒れよ」と言う。
10:8 The high places also of Aven, the sin of Israel, shall be destroyed: the thorn and the thistle shall come up on their altars; and they shall say to the mountains, Cover us; and to the hills, Fall on us.
10:9 イスラエルよ、あなたはギベアの日からこのかた罪を犯した。彼らはその所に立っていた。戦いはギベアにおる彼らに及ばないであろうか。
10:9 O Israel, you have sinned from the days of Gibeah: there they stood: the battle in Gibeah against the children of iniquity did not overtake them.
10:10 わたしは来てよこしまな民を攻め、これを懲らしめる。彼らがその二つの罪のために懲らしめられるとき、もろもろの民は集まって彼らを攻める。
10:10 It is in my desire that I should chastise them; and the people shall be gathered against them, when they shall bind themselves in their two furrows.
10:11 エフライムはならされた若い雌牛であって、穀物を踏むことを好む。わたしはその麗しい首を惜しんだ。しかし、わたしはエフライムにくびきをかける。ユダは耕し、ヤコブは自分のために、まぐわをひかねばならない。
10:11 And Ephraim is as an heifer that is taught, and loves to tread out the corn; but I passed over upon her fair neck: I will make Ephraim to ride; Judah shall plow, and Jacob shall break his clods.
10:12 あなたがたは自分のために正義をまき、いつくしみの実を刈り取り、あなたがたの新田を耕せ。今は主を求むべき時である。主は来て救いを雨のように、あなたがたに降りそそがれる。
10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he comes and rain righteousness upon you.
10:13 あなたがたは悪を耕し、不義を刈りおさめ、偽りの実を食べた。これはあなたがたが自分の戦車を頼み、勇士の多いことを頼んだためである。
10:13 All of you have plowed wickedness, all of you have reaped iniquity; all of you have eaten the fruit of lies: because you did trust in your way, in the multitude of your mighty men.
10:14 それゆえ、あなたがたの民の中に／いくさの騒ぎが起り、シャルマンが戦いの日に／ベテ・アルベルを打ち破ったように、あなたがたの城はことごとく打ち破られる。母らはその子らと共に打ち砕かれた。
10:14 Therefore shall a tumult arise among your people, and all your fortresses shall be spoiled, as Shalman spoiled Betharbel in the day of battle: the mother was dashed in pieces upon her children.
10:15 イスラエルの家よ、あなたがたの大いなる悪のゆえに、このように、あなたがたにも行われ、イスラエルの王は、あらしの中に全く滅ぼされる。
10:15 So shall Bethel do unto you because of your great wickedness: in a morning shall the king of Israel utterly be cut off.
11:1 わたしはイスラエルの幼い時、これを愛した。わたしはわが子をエジプトから呼び出した。
11:1 When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.
11:2 わたしが呼ばわるにしたがって、彼らはいよいよわたしから遠ざかり、もろもろのバアルに犠牲をささげ、刻んだ像に香をたいた。
11:2 As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.
11:3 わたしはエフライムに歩むことを教え、彼らをわたしの腕にいだいた。しかし彼らはわたしにいやされた事を／知らなかった。
11:3 I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them.
11:4 わたしはあわれみの綱、すなわち愛のひもで彼らを導いた。わたしは彼らに対しては、あごから、くびきをはずす者のようになり、かがんで彼らに食物を与えた。
11:4 I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid food unto them.
11:5 彼らはエジプトの地に帰り、アッスリヤびとが彼らの王となる。彼らがわたしに帰ることを拒んだからである。
11:5 He shall not return into the land of Egypt, and the Assyrian shall be his king, because they refused to return.
11:6 つるぎは、そのもろもろの町にあれ狂い、その門の貫の木を砕き、その城の中に彼らを滅ぼす。
11:6 And the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall consume his branches, and devour them, because of their own counsels.
11:7 わが民はわたしからそむき去ろうとしている。それゆえ、彼らはくびきをかけられ、これを除きうる者はひとりもいない。
11:7 And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him.
11:8 エフライムよ、どうして、あなたを捨てることができようか。イスラエルよ、どうしてあなたを渡すことができようか。どうしてあなたをアデマのように／することができようか。どうしてあなたをゼボイムのように／扱うことができようか。わたしの心は、わたしのうちに変り、わたしのあわれみは、ことごとくもえ起っている。
11:8 How shall I give you up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver you, Israel? how shall I make you as Admah? how shall I set you as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together.
11:9 わたしはわたしの激しい怒りをあらわさない。わたしは再びエフライムを滅ぼさない。わたしは神であって、人ではなく、あなたのうちにいる聖なる者だからである。わたしは滅ぼすために臨むことをしない。
11:9 I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of you: and I will not enter into the city.
11:10 彼らは主に従って歩む。主はししのほえるように声を出される。主が声を出されると、子らはおののきつつ西から来る。
11:10 They shall walk after the LORD: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west.
11:11 彼らはエジプトから鳥のように、アッスリヤの地から、はとのように急いで来る。わたしは彼らをその家に帰らせると／主は言われる。
11:11 They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, says the LORD.
11:12 エフライムは偽りをもって、わたしを囲み、イスラエルの家は欺きをもって、わたしを囲んだ。しかしユダはなお神に知られ、聖なる者に向かって真実である。
11:12 Ephraim compasses me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet rules with God, and is faithful with the saints.
12:1 エフライムはひねもす風を牧し、東風を追い、偽りと暴虐とを増し加え、アッスリヤと取引をなし、油をエジプトに送った。
12:1 Ephraim feeds on wind, and follows after the east wind: he daily increases lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.
12:2 主はユダと争い、ヤコブをそのしわざにしたがって罰し、そのおこないにしたがって報いられる。
12:2 The LORD has also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him.
12:3 ヤコブは胎にいたとき、その兄弟のかかとを捕え、成人したとき神と争った。
12:3 He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:
12:4 彼は天の使と争って勝ち、泣いてこれにあわれみを求めた。彼はベテルで神に出会い、その所で神は彼と語られた。
12:4 Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Bethel, and there he spoke with us;
12:5 主は万軍の神、その名は主である。
12:5 Even the LORD God of hosts; the LORD is his memorial.
12:6 それゆえ、あなたはあなたの神に帰り、いつくしみと正しきとを守り、つねにあなたの神を待ち望め。
12:6 Therefore turn you to your God: keep mercy and judgment and wait on your God continually.
12:7 商人はその手に偽りのはかりを持ち、しえたげることを好む。
12:7 He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loves to oppress.
12:8 エフライムは言った、「まことにわたしは富める者となった。わたしは自分ために財宝を得た」と。しかし彼のすべての富も／その犯した罪をつぐなうことはできない。
12:8 And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin.
12:9 わたしはエジプトの国を出たときから、あなたの神、主である。わたしは祭の日のように、再びあなたを天幕に住まわせよう。
12:9 And I that am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt will yet make you to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.
12:10 わたしは預言者たちに語った。幻を多く示したのはわたしである。わたしは預言者たちによってたとえを語った。
12:10 I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.
12:11 もしギレアデに不義があるなら、彼らは必ずむなしき者となる。もし彼らがギルガルで雄牛を犠牲にささげるなら、彼らの祭壇は畑のうねに積んだ石塚のようになる。
12:11 Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields.
12:12 （ヤコブはアラムの地に逃げっていった。イスラエルは妻をめとるために人に仕えた。彼は妻をめとるために羊を飼った。）
12:12 And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep.
12:13 主はひとりの預言者によって、イスラエルをエジプトから導き出し、ひとりの預言者によってこれを守られた。
12:13 And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.
12:14 エフライムはいたく主を怒らせた。それゆえ主はその血のとがを彼の上にのこし、そのはずかしめを彼に返される。
12:14 Ephraim provoked him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his LORD return unto him.
13:1 エフライムが物言えば、人々はおののいた。彼はイスラエルの中に自分を高くした。しかし彼はバアルによって罪を犯して死んだ。
13:1 When Ephraim spoke trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he offended in Baal, he died.
13:2 そして彼らは今もなおますます罪を犯し、その銀をもって自分のために像を鋳、巧みに偶像を造る。これは皆工人のわざである。彼らは言う、これに犠牲をささげよ、人々は子牛に口づけせよと。
13:2 And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, and idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kiss the calves.
13:3 それゆえ彼らは朝の霧のように、すみやかに消えうせる露のように、打ち場から風に吹き去られるもみがらのように、また窓から出て行く煙のようになる。
13:3 Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud and as the early dew that passes away, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney.
13:4 わたしはエジプトの国を出てからこのかた、あなたの神、主である。あなたはわたしのほかに神を知らない。わたしのほかに救う者はない。
13:4 Yet I am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt, and you shall know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.
13:5 わたしは荒野で、またかわいた地で、あなたを知った。
13:5 I did know you in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.
13:6 しかし彼らは食べて飽き、飽きて、その心が高ぶり、わたしを忘れた。
13:6 According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.
13:7 それゆえ、わたしは彼らに向かって、ししのようになり、ひょうのように道のかたわらに潜んでうかがう。
13:7 Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them:

13:8 I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the lobe of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.
13:9 イスラエルよ、わたしはあなたを滅ぼす。だれがあなたを助けることができよう。
13:9 O Israel, you have destroyed yourself; but in me is yours help.
13:10 あなたを助けるあなたの王は今、どこにいるのか。あなたがかつて「わたしに王と君たちとを与えよ」と／言ったあなたを保護すべき、すべてのつかさたちは／今、どこにいるのか。
13:10 I will be your king: where is any other that may save you in all your cities? and your judges of whom you said, Give me a king and princes?
13:11 わたしは怒りをもってあなたに王を与えた、また憤りをもってこれを奪い取った。
13:11 I gave you a king in mine anger, and took him away in my wrath.
13:12 エフライムの不義は包みおかれ、その罪は積みたくわえられてある。
13:12 The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; his sin is hid.
13:13 子を産む女の苦しみが彼に臨む。彼は知恵のない子である。生れる時が来ても彼は産門にあらわれない。
13:13 The sorrows of a travailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the breaking out of children.
13:14 わたしは彼らを陰府の力から、あがなうことがあろうか。彼らを死から、あがなうことがあろうか。死よ、おまえの災はどこにあるのか。陰府よ、おまえの滅びはどこにあるのか。あわれみは、わたしの目から隠されている。
13:14 I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be your plagues; O grave, I will be your destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.
13:15 たとい彼は葦のように栄えても、東風が吹いて来る。主の風が荒野から吹き起る。これがためにその源はかれ、その泉はかわく。それはすべての尊い物の宝庫をかすめ奪う。
13:15 Though he be fruitful among his brethren, an east wind shall come, the wind of the LORD shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: he shall spoil the treasure of all pleasant vessels.
13:16 サマリヤはその神にそむいたので、その罪を負い、つるぎに倒れ、その幼な子は投げ砕かれ、そのはらめる女は引き裂かれる。
13:16 Samaria shall become desolate; for she has rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.
14:1 イスラエルよ、あなたの神、主に帰れ。あなたは自分の不義によって、つまずいたからだ。
14:1 O israel, return unto the LORD your God; for you have fallen by yours iniquity.
14:2 あなたがたは言葉を携えて、主に帰って言え、「不義はことごとくゆるして、よきものを受けいれてください。わたしたちは自分のくちびるの実をささげます。
14:2 Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
14:3 アッスリヤはわたしたちを助けず、わたしたちは馬に乗りません。わたしたちはもはや自分たちの手のわざに向かって／『われわれの神』とは言いません。みなしごはあなたによって、あわれみを得るでしょう」。
14:3 Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, All of you are our gods: for in you the fatherless finds mercy.
14:4 わたしは彼らのそむきをいやし、喜んでこれを愛する。わたしの怒りは彼らを離れ去ったからである。
14:4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.
14:5 わたしはイスラエルに対しては露のようになる。彼はゆりのように花咲き、ポプラのように根を張り、
14:5 I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.
14:6 その枝は茂りひろがり、その麗しさはオリブの木のように、そのかんばしさはレバノンのようになる。
14:6 His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.
14:7 彼らは帰って来て、わが陰に住み、園のように栄え、ぶどうの木のように花咲き、そのかんばしさはレバノンの酒のようになる。
14:7 They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.
14:8 エフライムよ、わたしは偶像となんの係わりがあろうか。あなたに答え、あなたを顧みる者はわたしである。わたしは緑のいとすぎのようだ。あなたはわたしから実を得る。
14:8 Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is your fruit found.
14:9 知恵のある者はだれか。その人にこれらのことを悟らせよ。悟りある者はだれか。その人にこれらのことを知らせよ。主の道は直く、正しき者はこれを歩む。しかし罪びとはこれにつまずく。
14:9 Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.
