Psalms / Psaumes 1
1.1 Heureux l'homme qui ne marche pas selon le conseil des méchants, Qui ne s'arrête pas sur la voie des pécheurs, Et qui ne s'assied pas en compagnie des moqueurs,
1:1 Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.
1.2 Mais qui trouve son plaisir dans la loi de l'Éternel, Et qui la médite jour et nuit!
1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law does he meditate day and night.
1.3 Il est comme un arbre planté près d'un courant d'eau, Qui donne son fruit en sa saison, Et dont le feuillage ne se flétrit point: Tout ce qu'il fait lui réussit.
1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper.
1.4 Il n'en est pas ainsi des méchants: Ils sont comme la paille que le vent dissipe.
1:4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
1.5 C'est pourquoi les méchants ne résistent pas au jour du jugement, Ni les pécheurs dans l'assemblée des justes;
1:5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
1.6 Car l'Éternel connaît la voie des justes, Et la voie des pécheurs mène à la ruine.
1:6 For the LORD knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
2.1 Pourquoi ce tumulte parmi les nations, Ces vaines pensées parmi les peuples?
2:1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2.2 Pourquoi les rois de la terre se soulèvent-ils Et les princes se liguent-ils avec eux Contre l'Éternel et contre son oint? -
2:2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
2.3 Brisons leurs liens, Délivrons-nous de leurs chaînes! -
2:3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
2.4 Celui qui siège dans les cieux rit, Le Seigneur se moque d'eux.
2:4 He that sits in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision.
2.5 Puis il leur parle dans sa colère, Il les épouvante dans sa fureur:
2:5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
2.6 C'est moi qui ai oint mon roi Sur Sion, ma montagne sainte!
2:6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
2.7 Je publierai le décret; L'Éternel m'a dit: Tu es mon fils! Je t'ai engendré aujourd'hui.
2:7 I will declare the decree: the LORD has said unto me, You are my Son; this day have I begotten you.
2.8 Demande-moi et je te donnerai les nations pour héritage, Les extrémités de la terre pour possession;
2:8 Ask of me, and I shall give you the heathen for yours inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.
2.9 Tu les briseras avec une verge de fer, Tu les briseras comme le vase d'un potier.
2:9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; you shall dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
2.10 Et maintenant, rois, conduisez-vous avec sagesse! Juges de la terre, recevez instruction!
2:10 Be wise now therefore, O all of you kings: be instructed, all of you judges of the earth.
2.11 Servez l'Éternel avec crainte, Et réjouissez-vous avec tremblement.
2:11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
2.12 Baisez le fils, de peur qu'il ne s'irrite, Et que vous ne périssiez dans votre voie, Car sa colère est prompte à s'enflammer. Heureux tous ceux qui se confient en lui!
2:12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and all of you perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Psaumes 3 / Psaume de David. A l'occasion de sa fuite devant Absalom, son fils.
3.1 O Éternel, que mes ennemis sont nombreux! Quelle multitude se lève contre moi!
3:1 Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.
3.2 Combien qui disent à mon sujet: Plus de salut pour lui auprès de Dieu! -Pause.
3:2 Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.
3.3 Mais toi, ô Éternel! tu es mon bouclier, Tu es ma gloire, et tu relèves ma tête.
3:3 But you, O LORD, are a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
3.4 De ma voix je crie à l'Éternel, Et il me répond de sa montagne sainte. -Pause.
3:4 I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
3.5 Je me couche, et je m'endors; Je me réveille, car l'Éternel est mon soutien.
3:5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
3.6 Je ne crains pas les myriades de peuples Qui m'assiègent de toutes parts.
3:6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.
3.7 Lève-toi, Éternel! sauve-moi, mon Dieu! Car tu frappes à la joue tous mes ennemis, Tu brises les dents des méchants.
3:7 Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for you have smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; you have broken the teeth of the ungodly.
3.8 Le salut est auprès de l'Éternel: Que ta bénédiction soit sur ton peuple! -Pause.
3:8 Salvation belongs unto the LORD: your blessing is upon your people. Selah.
Psaumes 4 / Au chef des chantres. Avec instruments à cordes. Psaume de David.
4.1 Quand je crie, réponds-moi, Dieu de ma justice! Quand je suis dans la détresse, sauve-moi! Aie pitié de moi, écoute ma prière!
4:1 Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: you have enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.
4.3 Fils des hommes, jusques à quand ma gloire sera-t-elle outragée? Jusques à quand aimerez-vous la vanité, Chercherez-vous le mensonge? -Pause.
4:2 O all of you sons of men, how long will all of you turn my glory into shame? how long will all of you love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.
4.4 Sachez que l'Éternel s'est choisi un homme pieux; L'Éternel entend, quand je crie à lui.
4:3 But know that the LORD has set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.
4.5 Tremblez, et ne péchez point; Parlez en vos coeurs sur votre couche, puis taisez-vous. -Pause.
4:4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
4.6 Offrez des sacrifices de justice, Et confiez-vous à l'Éternel.
4:5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.
4.7 Plusieurs disent: Qui nous fera voir le bonheur? Fais lever sur nous la lumière de ta face, ô Éternel!
4:6 There be many that say, Who will show us any good? LORD, lift you up the light of your countenance upon us.
4.8 Tu mets dans mon coeur plus de joie qu'ils n'en ont Quand abondent leur froment et leur moût.
4:7 You have put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.
4.9 Je me couche et je m'endors en paix, Car toi seul, ô Éternel! tu me donnes la sécurité dans ma demeure.
4:8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for you, LORD, only make me dwell in safety.
Psaumes 5 / Au chef des chantres. Avec les flûtes. Psaume de David.
5.1 Prête l'oreille à mes paroles, ô Éternel! Écoute mes gémissements!
5:1 Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.
5.3 Sois attentif à mes cris, mon roi et mon Dieu! C'est à toi que j'adresse ma prière.
5:2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto you will I pray.
5.4 Éternel! le matin tu entends ma voix; Le matin je me tourne vers toi, et je regarde.
5:3 My voice shall you hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto you, and will look up.
5.5 Car tu n'es point un Dieu qui prenne plaisir au mal; Le méchant n'a pas sa demeure auprès de toi.
5:4 For you are not a God that has pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with you.
5.6 Les insensés ne subsistent pas devant tes yeux; Tu hais tous ceux qui commettent l'iniquité.
5:5 The foolish shall not stand in your sight: you hate all workers of iniquity.
5.7 Tu fais périr les menteurs; L'Éternel abhorre les hommes de sang et de fraude.
5:6 You shall destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will detest the bloody and deceitful man.
5.8 Mais moi, par ta grande miséricorde, je vais à ta maison, Je me prosterne dans ton saint temple avec crainte.
5:7 But as for me, I will come into your house in the multitude of your mercy: and in your fear will I worship toward your holy temple.
5.9 Éternel! conduis-moi dans ta justice, à cause de mes ennemis, Aplanis ta voie sous mes pas.
5:8 Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness because of mine enemies; make your way straight before my face.
5.10 Car il n'y a point de sincérité dans leur bouche; Leur coeur est rempli de malice, Leur gosier est un sépulcre ouvert, Et ils ont sur la langue des paroles flatteuses.
5:9 For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open tomb; they flatter with their tongue.
5.11 Frappe-les comme des coupables, ô Dieu! Que leurs desseins amènent leur chute! Précipite-les au milieu de leurs péchés sans nombre! Car ils se révoltent contre toi.
5:10 Destroy you them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against you.
5.12 Alors tous ceux qui se confient en toi se réjouiront, Ils auront de l'allégresse à toujours, et tu les protégeras; Tu seras un sujet de joie Pour ceux qui aiment ton nom.
5:11 But let all those that put their trust in you rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because you defend them: let them also that love your name be joyful in you.
5.13 Car tu bénis le juste, ô Éternel! Tu l'entoures de ta grâce comme d'un bouclier.
5:12 For you, LORD, will bless the righteous; with favour will you compass him as with a shield.
Psaumes 6 / Au chef des chantres. Avec instruments à cordes. Sur la harpe à huit cordes. Psaume de David.
6.1 Éternel! ne me punis pas dans ta colère, Et ne me châtie pas dans ta fureur.
6:1 O LORD, rebuke me not in yours anger, neither chasten me in your hot displeasure.
6.3 Aie pitié de moi, Éternel! car je suis sans force; Guéris-moi, Éternel! car mes os sont tremblants.
6:2 Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed.
6.4 Mon âme est toute troublée; Et toi, Éternel! jusques à quand?...
6:3 My soul is also sore vexed: but you, O LORD, how long?
6.5 Reviens, Éternel! délivre mon âme; Sauve-moi, à cause de ta miséricorde.
6:4 Return, O LORD, deliver my soul: oh save me for your mercies' sake.
6.6 Car celui qui meurt n'a plus ton souvenir; Qui te louera dans le séjour des morts?
6:5 For in death there is no remembrance of you: in the grave who shall give you thanks?
6.7 Je m'épuise à force de gémir; Chaque nuit ma couche est baignée de mes larmes, Mon lit est arrosé de mes pleurs.
6:6 I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears.
6.8 J'ai le visage usé par le chagrin; Tous ceux qui me persécutent le font vieillir.
6:7 Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxs old because of all mine enemies.
6.9 Éloignez-vous de moi, vous tous qui faites le mal! Car l'Éternel entend la voix de mes larmes;
6:8 Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity; for the LORD has heard the voice of my weeping.
6.10 L'Éternel exauce mes supplications, L'Éternel accueille ma prière.
6:9 The LORD has heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.
6.11 Tous mes ennemis sont confondus, saisis d'épouvante; Ils reculent, soudain couverts de honte.
6:10 Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly.
Psaumes 7 / Complainte de David. Chantée à l'Éternel, au sujet de Cusch, Benjamite.
7.1 Éternel, mon Dieu! je cherche en toi mon refuge; Sauve-moi de tous mes persécuteurs, et délivre-moi,
7:1 O LORD my God, in you do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:
7.3 Afin qu'il ne me déchire pas, comme un lion Qui dévore sans que personne vienne au secours.
7:2 Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
7.4 Éternel, mon Dieu! si j'ai fait cela, S'il y a de l'iniquité dans mes mains,
7:3 O LORD my God, If I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands;
7.5 Si j'ai rendu le mal à celui qui était paisible envers moi, Si j'ai dépouillé celui qui m'opprimait sans cause,
7:4 If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)
7.6 Que l'ennemi me poursuive et m'atteigne, Qu'il foule à terre ma vie, Et qu'il couche ma gloire dans la poussière! -Pause.
7:5 Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. Selah.
7.7 Lève-toi, ô Éternel! dans ta colère, Lève-toi contre la fureur de mes adversaires, Réveille-toi pour me secourir, ordonne un jugement!
7:6 Arise, O LORD, in yours anger, lift up yourself because of the rage of mine enemies: and awake for me to the judgment that you have commanded.
7.8 Que l'assemblée des peuples t'environne! Monte au-dessus d'elle vers les lieux élevés!
7:7 So shall the congregation of the people compass you about: for their sakes therefore return you on high.
7.9 L'Éternel juge les peuples: Rends-moi justice, ô Éternel! Selon mon droit et selon mon innocence!
7:8 The LORD shall judge the people: judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.
7.10 Mets un terme à la malice des méchants, Et affermis le juste, Toi qui sondes les coeurs et les reins, Dieu juste!
7:9 Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God tries the hearts and reins.
7.11 Mon bouclier est en Dieu, Qui sauve ceux dont le coeur est droit.
7:10 My defence is of God, which saves the upright in heart.
7.12 Dieu est un juste juge, Dieu s'irrite en tout temps.
7:11 God judges the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
7.13 Si le méchant ne se convertit pas, il aiguise son glaive, Il bande son arc, et il vise;
7:12 If he turn not, he will sharpen his sword; he has bent his bow, and made it ready.
7.14 Il dirige sur lui des traits meurtriers, Il rend ses flèches brûlantes.
7:13 He has also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordains his arrows against the persecutors.
7.15 Voici, le méchant prépare le mal, Il conçoit l'iniquité, et il enfante le néant.
7:14 Behold, he labors with iniquity, and has conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.
7.16 Il ouvre une fosse, il la creuse, Et il tombe dans la fosse qu'il a faite.
7:15 He made a pit, and dug it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
7.17 Son iniquité retombe sur sa tête, Et sa violence redescend sur son front.
7:16 His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own crown of the head.
7.18 Je louerai l'Éternel à cause de sa justice, Je chanterai le nom de l'Éternel, du Très Haut.
7:17 I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.
Psaumes 8 / Au chef des chantres. Sur la guitthith. Psaume de David.
8.1 Éternel, notre Seigneur! Que ton nom est magnifique sur toute la terre! Ta majesté s'élève au-dessus des cieux.
8:1 O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth! who have set your glory above the heavens.
8.3 Par la bouche des enfants et de ceux qui sont à la mamelle Tu as fondé ta gloire, pour confondre tes adversaires, Pour imposer silence à l'ennemi et au vindicatif.
8:2 Out of the mouth of babes and infants have you ordained strength because of yours enemies, that you might still the enemy and the avenger.
8.4 Quand je contemple les cieux, ouvrage de tes mains, La lune et les étoiles que tu as créées:
8:3 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained;
8.5 Qu'est-ce que l'homme, pour que tu te souviennes de lui? Et le fils de l'homme, pour que tu prennes garde à lui?
8:4 What is man, that you are mindful of him? and the son of man, that you visit him?
8.6 Tu l'as fait de peu inférieur à Dieu, Et tu l'as couronné de gloire et de magnificence.
8:5 For you have made him a little lower than the angels, and have crowned him with glory and honour.
8.7 Tu lui as donné la domination sur les oeuvres de tes mains, Tu as tout mis sous ses pieds,
8:6 You made him to have dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet:
8.8 Les brebis comme les boeufs, Et les animaux des champs,
8:7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
8.9 Les oiseaux du ciel et les poissons de la mer, Tout ce qui parcourt les sentiers des mers.
8:8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passes through the paths of the seas.
8.10 Éternel, notre Seigneur! Que ton nom est magnifique sur toute la terre!
8:9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth!
Psaumes 9 / Au chef des chantres. Sur <<Meurs pour le fils>>. Psaume de David.
9.1 Je louerai l'Éternel de tout mon coeur, Je raconterai toutes tes merveilles.
9:1 I will praise you, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will show forth all your marvellous works.
9.3 Je ferai de toi le sujet de ma joie et de mon allégresse, Je chanterai ton nom, Dieu Très Haut!
9:2 I will be glad and rejoice in you: I will sing praise to your name, O you most High.
9.4 Mes ennemis reculent, Ils chancellent, ils périssent devant ta face.
9:3 When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at your presence.
9.5 Car tu soutiens mon droit et ma cause, Tu sièges sur ton trône en juste juge.
9:4 For you have maintained my right and my cause; you sat in the throne judging right.
9.6 Tu châties les nations, tu détruis le méchant, Tu effaces leur nom pour toujours et à perpétuité.
9:5 You have rebuked the heathen, you have destroyed the wicked, you have put out their name for ever and ever.
9.7 Plus d'ennemis! Des ruines éternelles! Des villes que tu as renversées! Leur souvenir est anéanti.
9:6 O you enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and you have destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them.
9.8 L'Éternel règne à jamais, Il a dressé son trône pour le jugement;
9:7 But the LORD shall endure for ever: he has prepared his throne for judgment.
9.9 Il juge le monde avec justice, Il juge les peuples avec droiture.
9:8 And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.
9.10 L'Éternel est un refuge pour l'opprimé, Un refuge au temps de la détresse.
9:9 The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
9.11 Ceux qui connaissent ton nom se confient en toi. Car tu n'abandonnes pas ceux qui te cherchent, ô Éternel!
9:10 And they that know your name will put their trust in you: for you, LORD, have not forsaken them that seek you.
9.12 Chantez à l'Éternel, qui réside en Sion, Publiez parmi les peuples ses hauts faits!
9:11 Sing praises to the LORD, which dwells in Zion: declare among the people his doings.
9.13 Car il venge le sang et se souvient des malheureux, Il n'oublie pas leurs cris.
9:12 When he makes inquisition for blood, he remembers them: he forgets not the cry of the humble.
9.14 Aie pitié de moi, Éternel! Vois la misère où me réduisent mes ennemis, Enlève-moi des portes de la mort,
9:13 Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, you that lift me up from the gates of death:
9.15 Afin que je publie toutes tes louanges, Dans les portes de la fille de Sion, Et que je me réjouisse de ton salut.
9:14 That I may show forth all your praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in your salvation.
9.16 Les nations tombent dans la fosse qu'elles ont faite, Leur pied se prend au filet qu'elles ont caché.
9:15 The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.
9.17 L'Éternel se montre, il fait justice, Il enlace le méchant dans l'oeuvre de ses mains. -Jeu d'instruments. Pause.
9:16 The LORD is known by the judgment which he executes: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.
9.18 Les méchants se tournent vers le séjour des morts, Toutes les nations qui oublient Dieu.
9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
9.19 Car le malheureux n'est point oublié à jamais, L'espérance des misérables ne périt pas à toujours.
9:18 For the needy shall not always be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.
9.21 Lève-toi, ô Éternel! Que l'homme ne triomphe pas! Que les nations soient jugées devant ta face!
9:19 Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in your sight.
9.21 Frappe-les d'épouvante, ô Éternel! Que les peuples sachent qu'ils sont des hommes! -Pause.
9:20 Put them in fear, O LORD: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.
10.1 Pourquoi, ô Éternel! te tiens-tu éloigné? Pourquoi te caches-tu au temps de la détresse?
10:1 Why stand you far off, O LORD? why hide you yourself in times of trouble?
10.2 Le méchant dans son orgueil poursuit les malheureux, Ils sont victimes des trames qu'il a conçues.
10:2 The wicked in his pride does persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
10.3 Car le méchant se glorifie de sa convoitise, Et le ravisseur outrage, méprise l'Éternel.
10:3 For the wicked boasts of his heart's desire, and blesses the covetous, whom the LORD detests.
10.4 Le méchant dit avec arrogance: Il ne punit pas! Il n'y a point de Dieu! -Voilà toutes ses pensées.
10:4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
10.5 Ses voies réussissent en tout temps; Tes jugements sont trop élevés pour l'atteindre, Il souffle contre tous ses adversaires.
10:5 His ways are always grievous; your judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffs at them.
10.6 Il dit en son coeur: Je ne chancelle pas, Je suis pour toujours à l'abri du malheur!
10:6 He has said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.
10.7 Sa bouche est pleine de malédictions, de tromperies et de fraudes; Il y a sous sa langue de la malice et de l'iniquité.
10:7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.
10.8 Il se tient en embuscade près des villages, Il assassine l'innocent dans des lieux écartés; Ses yeux épient le malheureux.
10:8 He sits in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places does he murder the innocent: his eyes are privately set against the poor.
10.9 Il est aux aguets dans sa retraite, comme le lion dans sa tanière, Il est aux aguets pour surprendre le malheureux; Il le surprend et l'attire dans son filet.
10:9 He lies in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lies in wait to catch the poor: he does catch the poor, when he draws him into his net.
10.10 Il se courbe, il se baisse, Et les misérables tombent dans ses griffes.
10:10 He crouches, and humbles himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.
10.11 Il dit en son coeur: Dieu oublie! Il cache sa face, il ne regarde jamais!
10:11 He has said in his heart, God has forgotten: he hides his face; he will never see it.
10.12 Lève-toi, Éternel! ô Dieu, lève ta main! N'oublie pas les malheureux!
10:12 Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up yours hand: forget not the humble.
10.13 Pourquoi le méchant méprise-t-il Dieu? Pourquoi dit-il en son coeur: Tu ne punis pas?
10:13 Wherefore does the wicked contemn God? he has said in his heart, You will not require it.

10:14 You have seen it; for you behold mischief and spite, to requite it with your hand: the poor commits himself unto you; you are the helper of the fatherless.
10.15 Brise le bras du méchant, Punis ses iniquités, et qu'il disparaisse à tes yeux!
10:15 Break you the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till you find none.
10.16 L'Éternel est roi à toujours et à perpétuité; Les nations sont exterminées de son pays.
10:16 The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.
10.17 Tu entends les voeux de ceux qui souffrent, ô Éternel! Tu affermis leur coeur; tu prêtes l'oreille
10:17 LORD, you have heard the desire of the humble: you will prepare their heart, you will cause yours ear to hear:
10.18 Pour rendre justice à l'orphelin et à l'opprimé, Afin que l'homme tiré de la terre cesse d'inspirer l'effroi.
10:18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

11.1 C'est en l'Éternel que je cherche un refuge. Comment pouvez-vous me dire: Fuis dans vos montagnes, comme un oiseau?
11:1 In the LORD put I my trust: how say all of you to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?
11.2 Car voici, les méchants bandent l'arc, Ils ajustent leur flèche sur la corde, Pour tirer dans l'ombre sur ceux dont le coeur est droit.
11:2 For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privately shoot at the upright in heart.
11.3 Quand les fondements sont renversés, Le juste, que ferait-il? -
11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
11.4 L'Éternel est dans son saint temple, L'Éternel a son trône dans les cieux; Ses yeux regardent, Ses paupières sondent les fils de l'homme.
11:4 The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD's throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.
11.5 L'Éternel sonde le juste; Il hait le méchant et celui qui se plaît à la violence.
11:5 The LORD tries the righteous: but the wicked and him that loves violence his soul hates.
11.6 Il fait pleuvoir sur les méchants Des charbons, du feu et du soufre; Un vent brûlant, c'est le calice qu'ils ont en partage.
11:6 Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.
11.7 Car l'Éternel est juste, il aime la justice; Les hommes droits contemplent sa face.
11:7 For the righteous LORD loves righteousness; his countenance does behold the upright.

12.1 Sauve, Éternel! car les hommes pieux s'en vont, Les fidèles disparaissent parmi les fils de l'homme.
12:1 Help, LORD; for the godly man ceases; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.
12.3 On se dit des faussetés les uns aux autres, On a sur les lèvres des choses flatteuses, On parle avec un coeur double.
12:2 They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.
12.4 Que l'Éternel extermine toutes les lèvres flatteuses, La langue qui discourt avec arrogance,
12:3 The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaks proud things:
12.5 Ceux qui disent: Nous sommes puissants par notre langue, Nous avons nos lèvres avec nous; Qui serait notre maître? -
12:4 Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?
12.6 Parce que les malheureux sont opprimés et que les pauvres gémissent, Maintenant, dit l'Éternel, je me lève, J'apporte le salut à ceux contre qui l'on souffle.
12:5 For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, says the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffs at him.
12.7 Les paroles de l'Éternel sont des paroles pures, Un argent éprouvé sur terre au creuset, Et sept fois épuré.
12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
12.8 Toi, Éternel! tu les garderas, Tu les préserveras de cette race à jamais.
12:7 You shall keep them, O LORD, you shall preserve them from this generation for ever.
12.9 Les méchants se promènent de toutes parts, Quand la bassesse règne parmi les fils de l'homme.
12:8 The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.

13.2 Jusques à quand, Éternel! m'oublieras-tu sans cesse? Jusques à quand me cacheras-tu ta face?
13:2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?
13.3 Jusques à quand aurai-je des soucis dans mon âme, Et chaque jour des chagrins dans mon coeur? Jusques à quand mon ennemi s'élèvera-t-il contre moi?
13:3 Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
13.4 Regarde, réponds-moi, Éternel, mon Dieu! Donne à mes yeux la clarté, Afin que je ne m'endorme pas du sommeil de la mort,
13:4 Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.
13.5 Afin que mon ennemi ne dise pas: Je l'ai vaincu! Et que mes adversaires ne se réjouissent pas, si je chancelle.
13:5 But I have trusted in your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
13.6 Moi, j'ai confiance en ta bonté, J'ai de l'allégresse dans le coeur, à cause de ton salut; Je chante à l'Éternel, car il m'a fait du bien.
13:6 I will sing unto the LORD, because he has dealt bountifully with me.
Psaumes 14 / Au chef des chantres. De David.
14.1 L'insensé dit en son coeur: Il n'y a point de Dieu! Ils se sont corrompus, ils ont commis des actions abominables; Il n'en est aucun qui fasse le bien.
14:1 The fool has said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that does good.
14.2 L'Éternel, du haut des cieux, regarde les fils de l'homme, Pour voir s'il y a quelqu'un qui soit intelligent, Qui cherche Dieu.
14:2 The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
14.3 Tous sont égarés, tous sont pervertis; Il n'en est aucun qui fasse le bien, Pas même un seul.
14:3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that does good, no, not one.
14.4 Tous ceux qui commettent l'iniquité ont-ils perdu le sens? Ils dévorent mon peuple, ils le prennent pour nourriture; Ils n'invoquent point l'Éternel.
14:4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.
14.5 C'est alors qu'ils trembleront d'épouvante, Quand Dieu paraîtra au milieu de la race juste.
14:5 There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.
14.6 Jetez l'opprobre sur l'espérance du malheureux... L'Éternel est son refuge.
14:6 All of you have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.
14.7 Oh! qui fera partir de Sion la délivrance d'Israël? Quand l'Éternel ramènera les captifs de son peuple, Jacob sera dans l'allégresse, Israël se réjouira.
14:7 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD brings back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
15.1 O Éternel! qui séjournera dans ta tente? Qui demeurera sur ta montagne sainte? -
15:1 Lord, who shall abide in your tabernacle? who shall dwell in your holy hill?
15.2 Celui qui marche dans l'intégrité, qui pratique la justice Et qui dit la vérité selon son coeur.
15:2 He that walks uprightly, and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart.
15.3 Il ne calomnie point avec sa langue, Il ne fait point de mal à son semblable, Et il ne jette point l'opprobre sur son prochain.
15:3 He that backbites not with his tongue, nor does evil to his neighbour, nor takes up a reproach against his neighbour.
15.4 Il regarde avec dédain celui qui est méprisable, Mais il honore ceux qui craignent l'Éternel; Il ne se rétracte point, s'il fait un serment à son préjudice.
15:4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honors them that fear the LORD. He that swears to his own hurt, and changes not.
15.5 Il n'exige point d'intérêt de son argent, Et il n'accepte point de don contre l'innocent. Celui qui se conduit ainsi ne chancelle jamais.
15:5 He that puts not out his money to interest, nor takes reward against the innocent. He that does these things shall never be moved.
16.1 Garde-moi, ô Dieu! car je cherche en toi mon refuge.
16:1 Preserve me, O God: for in you do I put my trust.
16.2 Je dis à l'Éternel: Tu es mon Seigneur, Tu es mon souverain bien!
16:2 O my soul, you have said unto the LORD, You are my Lord: my goodness extends not to you;
16.3 Les saints qui sont dans le pays, Les hommes pieux sont l'objet de toute mon affection.
16:3 But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.
16.4 On multiplie les idoles, on court après les dieux étrangers: Je ne répands pas leurs libations de sang, Je ne mets pas leurs noms sur mes lèvres.
16:4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
16.5 L'Éternel est mon partage et mon calice; C'est toi qui m'assures mon lot;
16:5 The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: you maintain my lot.
16.6 Un héritage délicieux m'est échu, Une belle possession m'est accordée.
16:6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
16.7 Je bénis l'Éternel, mon conseiller; La nuit même mon coeur m'exhorte.
16:7 I will bless the LORD, who has given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
16.8 J'ai constamment l'Éternel sous mes yeux; Quand il est à ma droite, je ne chancelle pas.
16:8 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
16.9 Aussi mon coeur est dans la joie, mon esprit dans l'allégresse, Et mon corps repose en sécurité.
16:9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
16.10 Car tu ne livreras pas mon âme au séjour des morts, Tu ne permettras pas que ton bien-aimé voie la corruption.
16:10 For you will not leave my soul in hell; neither will you suffer yours Holy One to see corruption.
16.11 Tu me feras connaître le sentier de la vie; Il y a d'abondantes joies devant ta face, Des délices éternelles à ta droite.
16:11 You will show me the path of life: in your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
17.1 Éternel! écoute la droiture, sois attentif à mes cris, Prête l'oreille à ma prière faite avec des lèvres sans tromperie!
17:1 Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goes not out of feigned lips.
17.2 Que ma justice paraisse devant ta face, Que tes yeux contemplent mon intégrité!
17:2 Let my sentence come forth from your presence; let yours eyes behold the things that are equal.
17.3 Si tu sondes mon coeur, si tu le visites la nuit, Si tu m'éprouves, tu ne trouveras rien: Ma pensée n'est pas autre que ce qui sort de ma bouche.
17:3 You have proved mine heart; you have visited me in the night; you have tried me, and shall find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.
17.4 A la vue des actions des hommes, fidèle à la parole de tes lèvres, Je me tiens en garde contre la voie des violents;
17:4 Concerning the works of men, by the word of your lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.
17.5 Mes pas sont fermes dans tes sentiers, Mes pieds ne chancellent point.
17:5 Hold up my activities in your paths, that my footsteps slip not.
17.6 Je t'invoque, car tu m'exauces, ô Dieu! Incline vers moi ton oreille, écoute ma parole!
17:6 I have called upon you, for you will hear me, O God: incline yours ear unto me, and hear my speech.
17.7 Signale ta bonté, toi qui sauves ceux qui cherchent un refuge, Et qui par ta droite les délivres de leurs adversaires!
17:7 Show your marvellous loving kindness, O you that save by your right hand them which put their trust in you from those that rise up against them.
17.8 Garde-moi comme la prunelle de l'oeil; Protège-moi, à l'ombre de tes ailes,
17:8 Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of your wings,
17.9 Contre les méchants qui me persécutent, Contre mes ennemis acharnés qui m'enveloppent.
17:9 From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.
17.10 Ils ferment leurs entrailles, Ils ont à la bouche des paroles hautaines.
17:10 They are enclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.
17.11 Ils sont sur nos pas, déjà ils nous entourent, Ils nous épient pour nous terrasser.
17:11 They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth;
17.12 On dirait un lion avide de déchirer, Un lionceau aux aguets dans son repaire.
17:12 Like a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.
17.13 Lève-toi, Éternel, marche à sa rencontre, renverse-le! Délivre-moi du méchant par ton glaive!
17:13 Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is your sword:
17.14 Délivre-moi des hommes par ta main, Éternel, des hommes de ce monde! Leur part est dans la vie, Et tu remplis leur ventre de tes biens; Leurs enfants sont rassasiés, Et ils laissent leur superflu à leurs petits-enfants.
17:14 From men which are your hand, O LORD, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly you fill with your hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.
17.15 Pour moi, dans mon innocence, je verrai ta face; Dès le réveil, je me rassasierai de ton image.
17:15 As for me, I will behold your face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with your likeness.
Psaumes 18 / Au chef des chantres. Du serviteur de l'Éternel, de David, qui adressa à l'Éternel les paroles de ce cantique, lorsque l'Éternel l'eut délivré de la main de tous ses ennemis et de la main de Saül.
18.1 Il dit: Je t'aime, ô Éternel, ma force!
18:1 I will love you, O LORD, my strength.
18.3 Éternel, mon rocher, ma forteresse, mon libérateur! Mon Dieu, mon rocher, où je trouve un abri! Mon bouclier, la force qui me sauve, ma haute retraite!
18:2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
18.4 Je m'écrie: Loué soit l'Éternel! Et je suis délivré de mes ennemis.
18:3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
18.5 Les liens de la mort m'avaient environné, Et les torrents de la destruction m'avaient épouvanté;
18:4 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.
18.6 Les liens du sépulcre m'avaient entouré, Les filets de la mort m'avaient surpris.
18:5 The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.
18.7 Dans ma détresse, j'ai invoqué l'Éternel, J'ai crié à mon Dieu; De son palais, il a entendu ma voix, Et mon cri est parvenu devant lui à ses oreilles.
18:6 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.
18.8 La terre fut ébranlée et trembla, Les fondements des montagnes frémirent, Et ils furent ébranlés, parce qu'il était irrité.
18:7 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was angry.
18.9 Il s'élevait de la fumée dans ses narines, Et un feu dévorant sortait de sa bouche: Il en jaillissait des charbons embrasés.
18:8 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.
18.10 Il abaissa les cieux, et il descendit: Il y avait une épaisse nuée sous ses pieds.
18:9 He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.
18.11 Il était monté sur un chérubin, et il volait, Il planait sur les ailes du vent.
18:10 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.
18.12 Il faisait des ténèbres sa retraite, sa tente autour de lui, Il était enveloppé des eaux obscures et de sombres nuages.
18:11 He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.
18.13 De la splendeur qui le précédait s'échappaient les nuées, Lançant de la grêle et des charbons de feu.
18:12 At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.
18.14 L'Éternel tonna dans les cieux, Le Très Haut fit retentir sa voix, Avec la grêle et les charbons de feu.
18:13 The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.
18.15 Il lança ses flèches et dispersa mes ennemis, Il multiplia les coups de la foudre et les mit en déroute.
18:14 Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and humiliated them.
18.16 Le lit des eaux apparut, Les fondements du monde furent découverts, Par ta menace, ô Éternel! Par le bruit du souffle de tes narines.
18:15 Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at your rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of your nostrils.
18.17 Il étendit sa main d'en haut, il me saisit, Il me retira des grandes eaux;
18:16 He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.
18.18 Il me délivra de mon adversaire puissant, De mes ennemis qui étaient plus forts que moi.
18:17 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.
18.19 Ils m'avaient surpris au jour de ma détresse; Mais l'Éternel fut mon appui.
18:18 They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.
18.20 Il m'a mis au large, Il m'a sauvé, parce qu'il m'aime.
18:19 He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.
18.21 L'Éternel m'a traité selon ma droiture, Il m'a rendu selon la pureté de mes mains;
18:20 The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands has he recompensed me.
18.22 Car j'ai observé les voies de l'Éternel, Et je n'ai point été coupable envers mon Dieu.
18:21 For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
18.23 Toutes ses ordonnances ont été devant moi, Et je ne me suis point écarté de ses lois.
18:22 For all his judgments were before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me.
18.24 J'ai été sans reproche envers lui, Et je me suis tenu en garde contre mon iniquité.
18:23 I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.
18.25 Aussi l'Éternel m'a rendu selon ma droiture, Selon la pureté de mes mains devant ses yeux.
18:24 Therefore has the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.
18.26 Avec celui qui est bon tu te montres bon, Avec l'homme droit tu agis selon la droiture,
18:25 With the merciful you will show yourself merciful; with an upright man you will show yourself upright;
18.27 Avec celui qui est pur tu te montres pur, Et avec le pervers tu agis selon sa perversité.
18:26 With the pure you will show yourself pure; and with the perverse you will show yourself perverse.
18.28 Tu sauves le peuple qui s'humilie, Et tu abaisses les regards hautains.
18:27 For you will save the afflicted people; but will bring down high looks.
18.29 Oui, tu fais briller ma lumière; L'Éternel, mon Dieu, éclaire mes ténèbres.
18:28 For you will light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.
18.30 Avec toi je me précipite sur une troupe en armes, Avec mon Dieu je franchis une muraille.
18:29 For by you I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.
18.31 Les voies de Dieu sont parfaites, La parole de l'Éternel est éprouvée; Il est un bouclier pour tous ceux qui se confient en lui.
18:30 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
18.32 Car qui est Dieu, si ce n'est l'Éternel; Et qui est un rocher, si ce n'est notre Dieu?
18:31 For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?
18.33 C'est Dieu qui me ceint de force, Et qui me conduit dans la voie droite.
18:32 It is God that girds me with strength, and makes my way perfect.
18.34 Il rend mes pieds semblables à ceux des biches, Et il me place sur mes lieux élevés.
18:33 He makes my feet like hinds' feet, and sets me upon my high places.
18.35 Il exerce mes mains au combat, Et mes bras tendent l'arc d'airain.
18:34 He teaches my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
18.36 Tu me donnes le bouclier de ton salut, Ta droite me soutient, Et je deviens grand par ta bonté.
18:35 You have also given me the shield of your salvation: and your right hand has held me up, and your gentleness has made me great.
18.37 Tu élargis le chemin sous mes pas, Et mes pieds ne chancellent point.
18:36 You have enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.
18.38 Je poursuis mes ennemis, je les atteins, Et je ne reviens pas avant de les avoir anéantis.
18:37 I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I return till they were consumed.
18.39 Je les brise, et ils ne peuvent se relever; Ils tombent sous mes pieds.
18:38 I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet.
18.40 Tu me ceins de force pour le combat, Tu fais plier sous moi mes adversaires.
18:39 For you have girded me with strength unto the battle: you have subdued under me those that rose up against me.
18.41 Tu fais tourner le dos à mes ennemis devant moi, Et j'extermine ceux qui me haïssent.
18:40 You have also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.
18.42 Ils crient, et personne pour les sauver! Ils crient à l'Éternel, et il ne leur répond pas!
18:41 They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.
18.43 Je les broie comme la poussière qu'emporte le vent, Je les foule comme la boue des rues.
18:42 Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.
18.44 Tu me délivres des dissensions du peuple; Tu me mets à la tête des nations; Un peuple que je ne connaissais pas m'est asservi.
18:43 You have delivered me from the strivings of the people; and you have made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me.
18.45 Ils m'obéissent au premier ordre, Les fils de l'étranger me flattent;
18:44 As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.
18.46 Les fils de l'étranger sont en défaillance, Ils tremblent hors de leurs forteresses.
18:45 The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.
18.47 Vive l'Éternel, et béni soit mon rocher! Que le Dieu de mon salut soit exalté,
18:46 The LORD lives; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.
18.48 Le Dieu qui est mon vengeur, Qui m'assujettit les peuples,
18:47 It is God that avenges me, and subdues the people under me.
18.49 Qui me délivre de mes ennemis! Tu m'élèves au-dessus de mes adversaires, Tu me sauves de l'homme violent.
18:48 He delivers me from mine enemies: yea, you lift me up above those that rise up against me: you have delivered me from the violent man.
18.50 C'est pourquoi je te louerai parmi les nations, ô Éternel! Et je chanterai à la gloire de ton nom.
18:49 Therefore will I give thanks unto you, O LORD, among the heathen, and sing praises unto your name.
18.51 Il accorde de grandes délivrances à son roi, Et il fait miséricorde à son oint, A David, et à sa postérité, pour toujours.
18:50 Great deliverance gives he to his king; and shows mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.

19.1 Les cieux racontent la gloire de Dieu, Et l'étendue manifeste l'oeuvre de ses mains.
19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows his handiwork.
19.3 Le jour en instruit un autre jour, La nuit en donne connaissance à une autre nuit.
19:2 Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night shows knowledge.
19.4 Ce n'est pas un langage, ce ne sont pas des paroles Dont le son ne soit point entendu:
19:3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
19.5 Leur retentissement parcourt toute la terre, Leurs accents vont aux extrémités du monde, Où il a dressé une tente pour le soleil.
19:4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them has he set a tabernacle for the sun,
19.6 Et le soleil, semblable à un époux qui sort de sa chambre, S'élance dans la carrière avec la joie d'un héros;
19:5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoices as a strong man to run a race.
19.7 Il se lève à une extrémité des cieux, Et achève sa course à l'autre extrémité: Rien ne se dérobe à sa chaleur.
19:6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
19.8 La loi de l'Éternel est parfaite, elle restaure l'âme; Le témoignage de l'Éternel est véritable, il rend sage l'ignorant.
19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
19.9 Les ordonnances de l'Éternel sont droites, elles réjouissent le coeur; Les commandements de l'Éternel sont purs, ils éclairent les yeux.
19:8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
19.10 La crainte de l'Éternel est pure, elle subsiste à toujours; Les jugements de l'Éternel sont vrais, ils sont tous justes.
19:9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
19.11 Ils sont plus précieux que l'or, que beaucoup d'or fin; Ils sont plus doux que le miel, que celui qui coule des rayons.
19:10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
19.12 Ton serviteur aussi en reçoit instruction; Pour qui les observe la récompense est grande.
19:11 Moreover by them is your servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
19.13 Qui connaît ses égarements? Pardonne-moi ceux que j'ignore.
19:12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse you me from secret faults.
19.14 Préserve aussi ton serviteur des orgueilleux; Qu'ils ne dominent point sur moi! Alors je serai intègre, innocent de grands péchés.
19:13 Keep back your servant also from arrogant sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
19.15 Reçois favorablement les paroles de ma bouche Et les sentiments de mon coeur, O Éternel, mon rocher et mon libérateur!
19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Psaumes 20 / Au chef des chantres. Psaume de David.
20.1 Que l'Éternel t'exauce au jour de la détresse, Que le nom du Dieu de Jacob te protège!
20:1 The LORD hear you in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend you;
20.2 Que du sanctuaire il t'envoie du secours, Que de Sion il te soutienne!
20:2 Send you help from the sanctuary, and strengthen you out of Zion;
20.3 Qu'il se souvienne de toutes tes offrandes, Et qu'il agrée tes holocaustes! -Pause.
20:3 Remember all your offerings, and accept your burnt sacrifice; Selah.
20.4 Qu'il te donne ce que ton coeur désire, Et qu'il accomplisse tous tes desseins!
20:4 Grant you according to yours own heart, and fulfill all your counsel.
20.5 Nous nous réjouirons de ton salut, Nous lèverons l'étendard au nom de notre Dieu; L'Éternel exaucera tous tes voeux.
20:5 We will rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfill all your petitions.
20.6 Je sais déjà que l'Éternel sauve son oint; Il l'exaucera des cieux, de sa sainte demeure, Par le secours puissant de sa droite.
20:6 Now know I that the LORD saves his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
20.7 Ceux-ci s'appuient sur leurs chars, ceux-là sur leurs chevaux; Nous, nous invoquons le nom de l'Éternel, notre Dieu.
20:7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
20.8 Eux, ils plient, et ils tombent; Nous, nous tenons ferme, et restons debout.
20:8 They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.
20.9 Éternel, sauve le roi! Qu'il nous exauce, quand nous l'invoquons!
20:9 Save, LORD: let the king hear us when we call.
Psaumes 21 / Au chef des chantres. Psaume de David.
21.1 Éternel! le roi se réjouit de ta protection puissante. Oh! comme ton secours le remplit d'allégresse!
21:1 The king shall joy in your strength, O LORD; and in your salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!
21.2 Tu lui as donné ce que désirait son coeur, Et tu n'as pas refusé ce que demandaient ses lèvres. -Pause.
21:2 You have given him his heart's desire, and have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah.
21.3 Car tu l'as prévenu par les bénédictions de ta grâce, Tu as mis sur sa tête une couronne d'or pur.
21:3 For you prevent him with the blessings of goodness: you set a crown of pure gold on his head.
21.4 Il te demandait la vie, tu la lui as donnée, Une vie longue pour toujours et à perpétuité.
21:4 He asked life of you, and you gave it him, even length of days for ever and ever.
21.5 Sa gloire est grande à cause de ton secours; Tu places sur lui l'éclat et la magnificence.
21:5 His glory is great in your salvation: honour and majesty have you laid upon him.
21.6 Tu le rends à jamais un objet de bénédictions, Tu le combles de joie devant ta face.
21:6 For you have made him most blessed for ever: you have made him exceeding glad with your countenance.
21.7 Le roi se confie en l'Éternel; Et, par la bonté du Très Haut, il ne chancelle pas.
21:7 For the king trusts in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
21.8 Ta main trouvera tous tes ennemis, Ta droite trouvera ceux qui te haïssent.
21:8 Yours hand shall find out all yours enemies: your right hand shall find out those that hate you.
21.9 Tu les rendras tels qu'une fournaise ardente, Le jour où tu te montreras; L'Éternel les anéantira dans sa colère, Et le feu les dévorera.
21:9 You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of yours anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.
21.10 Tu feras disparaître leur postérité de la terre, Et leur race du milieu des fils de l'homme.
21:10 Their fruit shall you destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.
21.11 Ils ont projeté du mal contre toi, Ils ont conçu de mauvais desseins, mais ils seront impuissants.
21:11 For they intended evil against you: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.
21.12 Car tu leur feras tourner le dos, Et avec ton arc tu tireras sur eux.
21:12 Therefore shall you make them turn their back, when you shall make ready yours arrows upon your strings against the face of them.
21.13 Lève-toi, Éternel, avec ta force! Nous voulons chanter, célébrer ta puissance.
21:13 Be you exalted, LORD, in yours own strength: so will we sing and praise your power.

22.1 Mon Dieu! mon Dieu! pourquoi m'as-tu abandonné, Et t'éloignes-tu sans me secourir, sans écouter mes plaintes?
22:1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? why are you so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
22.2 Mon Dieu! je crie le jour, et tu ne réponds pas; La nuit, et je n'ai point de repos.
22:2 O my God, I cry in the day time, but you hear not; and in the night season, and am not silent.
22.3 Pourtant tu es le Saint, Tu sièges au milieu des louanges d'Israël.
22:3 But you are holy, O you that inhabit the praises of Israel.
22.4 En toi se confiaient nos pères; Ils se confiaient, et tu les délivrais.
22:4 Our fathers trusted in you: they trusted, and you did deliver them.
22.5 Ils criaient à toi, et ils étaient sauvés; Ils se confiaient en toi, et ils n'étaient point confus.
22:5 They cried unto you, and were delivered: they trusted in you, and were not confounded.
22.6 Et moi, je suis un ver et non un homme, L'opprobre des hommes et le méprisé du peuple.
22:6 But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
22.7 Tous ceux qui me voient se moquent de moi, Ils ouvrent la bouche, secouent la tête:
22:7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
22.8 Recommande-toi à l'Éternel! L'Éternel le sauvera, Il le délivrera, puisqu'il l'aime! -
22:8 He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.
22.9 Oui, tu m'as fait sortir du sein maternel, Tu m'as mis en sûreté sur les mamelles de ma mère;
22:9 But you are he that took me out of the womb: you did make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.
22.10 Dès le sein maternel j'ai été sous ta garde, Dès le ventre de ma mère tu as été mon Dieu.
22:10 I was cast upon you from the womb: you are my God from my mother's belly.
22.11 Ne t'éloigne pas de moi quand la détresse est proche, Quand personne ne vient à mon secours!
22:11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.
22.12 De nombreux taureaux sont autour de moi, Des taureaux de Basan m'environnent.
22:12 Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
22.13 Ils ouvrent contre moi leur gueule, Semblables au lion qui déchire et rugit.
22:13 They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
22.14 Je suis comme de l'eau qui s'écoule, Et tous mes os se séparent; Mon coeur est comme de la cire, Il se fond dans mes entrailles.
22:14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
22.15 Ma force se dessèche comme l'argile, Et ma langue s'attache à mon palais; Tu me réduis à la poussière de la mort.
22:15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaves to my jaws; and you have brought me into the dust of death.
22.16 Car des chiens m'environnent, Une bande de scélérats rôdent autour de moi, Ils ont percé mes mains et mes pieds.
22:16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
22.17 Je pourrais compter tous mes os. Eux, ils observent, ils me regardent;
22:17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
22.18 Ils se partagent mes vêtements, Ils tirent au sort ma tunique.
22:18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
22.19 Et toi, Éternel, ne t'éloigne pas! Toi qui es ma force, viens en hâte à mon secours!
22:19 But be not you far from me, O LORD: O my strength, haste you to help me.
22.20 Protège mon âme contre le glaive, Ma vie contre le pouvoir des chiens!
22:20 Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.
22.21 Sauve-moi de la gueule du lion, Délivre-moi des cornes du buffle!
22:21 Save me from the lion's mouth: for you have heard me from the horns of the unicorns.
22.22 Je publierai ton nom parmi mes frères, Je te célébrerai au milieu de l'assemblée.
22:22 I will declare your name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise you.
22.23 Vous qui craignez l'Éternel, louez-le! Vous tous, postérité de Jacob, glorifiez-le! Tremblez devant lui, vous tous, postérité d'Israël!
22:23 All of you that fear the LORD, praise him; all you the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all you the seed of Israel.
22.24 Car il n'a ni mépris ni dédain pour les peines du misérable, Et il ne lui cache point sa face; Mais il l'écoute quand il crie à lui.
22:24 For he has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither has he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.
22.25 Tu seras dans la grande assemblée l'objet de mes louanges; J'accomplirai mes voeux en présence de ceux qui te craignent.
22:25 My praise shall be of you in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.
22.26 Les malheureux mangeront et se rassasieront, Ceux qui cherchent l'Éternel le célébreront. Que votre coeur vive à toujours!
22:26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.
22.27 Toutes les extrémités de la terre penseront à l'Éternel et se tourneront vers lui; Toutes les familles des nations se prosterneront devant ta face.
22:27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the families of the nations shall worship before you.
22.28 Car à l'Éternel appartient le règne: Il domine sur les nations.
22:28 For the kingdom is the LORD's: and he is the governor among the nations.
22.29 Tous les puissants de la terre mangeront et se prosterneront aussi; Devant lui s'inclineront tous ceux qui descendent dans la poussière, Ceux qui ne peuvent conserver leur vie.
22:29 All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.
22.30 La postérité le servira; On parlera du Seigneur à la génération future.
22:30 A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
22.31 Quand elle viendra, elle annoncera sa justice, Elle annoncera son oeuvre au peuple nouveau-né.
22:31 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he has done this.
Psaumes 23 / Cantique de David.
23.1 L'Éternel est mon berger: je ne manquerai de rien.
23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not lack.
23.2 Il me fait reposer dans de verts pâturages, Il me dirige près des eaux paisibles.
23:2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still waters.
23.3 Il restaure mon âme, Il me conduit dans les sentiers de la justice, A cause de son nom.
23:3 He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
23.4 Quand je marche dans la vallée de l'ombre de la mort, Je ne crains aucun mal, car tu es avec moi: Ta houlette et ton bâton me rassurent.
23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me.
23.5 Tu dresses devant moi une table, En face de mes adversaires; Tu oins d'huile ma tête, Et ma coupe déborde.
23:5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: you anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.
23.6 Oui, le bonheur et la grâce m'accompagneront Tous les jours de ma vie, Et j'habiterai dans la maison de l'Éternel Jusqu'à la fin de mes jours.
23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
24.1 A l'Éternel la terre et ce qu'elle renferme, Le monde et ceux qui l'habitent!
24:1 The earth is the LORD's, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
24.2 Car il l'a fondée sur les mers, Et affermie sur les fleuves.
24:2 For he has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
24.3 Qui pourra monter à la montagne de l'Éternel? Qui s'élèvera jusqu'à son lieu saint? -
24:3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?
24.4 Celui qui a les mains innocentes et le coeur pur; Celui qui ne livre pas son âme au mensonge, Et qui ne jure pas pour tromper.
24:4 He that has clean hands, and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
24.5 Il obtiendra la bénédiction de l'Éternel, La miséricorde du Dieu de son salut.
24:5 He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
24.6 Voilà le partage de la génération qui l'invoque, De ceux qui cherchent ta face, de Jacob! -Pause.
24:6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek your face, O Jacob. Selah.
24.7 Portes, élevez vos linteaux; Élevez-vous, portes éternelles! Que le roi de gloire fasse son entrée! -
24:7 Lift up your heads, O all of you gates; and be all of you lift up, all of you everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
24.8 Qui est ce roi de gloire? -L'Éternel fort et puissant, L'Éternel puissant dans les combats.
24:8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

24:9 Lift up your heads, O all of you gates; even lift them up, all of you everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
24.10 Qui donc est ce roi de gloire? -L'Éternel des armées: Voilà le roi de gloire! -Pause.
24:10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.
25.1 Éternel! j'élève à toi mon âme.
25:1 Unto you, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.
25.2 Mon Dieu! en toi je me confie: que je ne sois pas couvert de honte! Que mes ennemis ne se réjouissent pas à mon sujet!
25:2 O my God, I trust in you: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
25.3 Tous ceux qui espèrent en toi ne seront point confondus; Ceux-là seront confondus qui sont infidèles sans cause.
25:3 Yea, let none that wait on you be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
25.4 Éternel! fais-moi connaître tes voies, Enseigne-moi tes sentiers.
25:4 Show me your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths.
25.5 Conduis-moi dans ta vérité, et instruis-moi; Car tu es le Dieu de mon salut, Tu es toujours mon espérance.
25:5 Lead me in your truth, and teach me: for you are the God of my salvation; on you do I wait all the day.
25.6 Éternel! souviens-toi de ta miséricorde et de ta bonté; Car elles sont éternelles.
25:6 Remember, O LORD, your tender mercies and your loving kindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
25.7 Ne te souviens pas des fautes de ma jeunesse ni de mes transgressions; Souviens-toi de moi selon ta miséricorde, A cause de ta bonté, ô Éternel!
25:7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to your mercy remember you me for your goodness' sake, O LORD.
25.8 L'Éternel est bon et droit: C'est pourquoi il montre aux pécheurs la voie.
25:8 Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
25.9 Il conduit les humbles dans la justice, Il enseigne aux humbles sa voie.
25:9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
25.10 Tous les sentiers de l'Éternel sont miséricorde et fidélité, Pour ceux qui gardent son alliance et ses commandements.
25:10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
25.11 C'est à cause de ton nom, ô Éternel! Que tu pardonneras mon iniquité, car elle est grande.
25:11 For your name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
25.12 Quel est l'homme qui craint l'Éternel? L'Éternel lui montre la voie qu'il doit choisir.
25:12 What man is he that fears the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
25.13 Son âme reposera dans le bonheur, Et sa postérité possédera le pays.
25:13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
25.14 L'amitié de l'Éternel est pour ceux qui le craignent, Et son alliance leur donne instruction.
25:14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant.
25.15 Je tourne constamment les yeux vers l'Éternel, Car il fera sortir mes pieds du filet.
25:15 Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.
25.16 Regarde-moi et aie pitié de moi, Car je suis abandonné et malheureux.
25:16 Turn you unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.
25.17 Les angoisses de mon coeur augmentent; Tire-moi de ma détresse.
25:17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring you me out of my distresses.
25.18 Vois ma misère et ma peine, Et pardonne tous mes péchés.
25:18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.
25.19 Vois combien mes ennemis sont nombreux, Et de quelle haine violente ils me poursuivent.
25:19 Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.
25.20 Garde mon âme et sauve-moi! Que je ne sois pas confus, Quand je cherche auprès de toi mon refuge!
25:20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in you.
25.21 Que l'innocence et la droiture me protègent, Quand je mets en toi mon espérance!
25:21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on you.
25.22 O Dieu! délivre Israël De toutes ses détresses!
25:22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.
26.1 Rends-moi justice, Éternel! car je marche dans l'intégrité, Je me confie en l'Éternel, je ne chancelle pas.
26:1 Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide.
26.2 Sonde-moi, Éternel! éprouve-moi, Fais passer au creuset mes reins et mon coeur;
26:2 Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.
26.3 Car ta grâce est devant mes yeux, Et je marche dans ta vérité.
26:3 For your loving kindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in your truth.
26.4 Je ne m'assieds pas avec les hommes faux, Je ne vais pas avec les gens dissimulés;
26:4 I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers.
26.5 Je hais l'assemblée de ceux qui font le mal, Je ne m'assieds pas avec les méchants.
26:5 I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.
26.6 Je lave mes mains dans l'innocence, Et je vais autour de ton autel, ô Éternel!
26:6 I will wash mine hands in innocence: so will I compass yours altar, O LORD:
26.7 Pour éclater en actions de grâces, Et raconter toutes tes merveilles.
26:7 That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all your wondrous works.
26.8 Éternel! j'aime le séjour de ta maison, Le lieu où ta gloire habite.
26:8 LORD, I have loved the habitation of your house, and the place where yours honour dwells.
26.9 N'enlève pas mon âme avec les pécheurs, Ma vie avec les hommes de sang,
26:9 Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men:
26.10 Dont les mains sont criminelles Et la droite pleine de présents!
26:10 In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes.
26.11 Moi, je marche dans l'intégrité; Délivre-moi et aie pitié de moi!
26:11 But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.
26.12 Mon pied est ferme dans la droiture: Je bénirai l'Éternel dans les assemblées.
26:12 My foot stands in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the LORD.
27.1 L'Éternel est ma lumière et mon salut: De qui aurais-je crainte? L'Éternel est le soutien de ma vie: De qui aurais-je peur?
27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
27.2 Quand des méchants s'avancent contre moi, Pour dévorer ma chair, Ce sont mes persécuteurs et mes ennemis Qui chancellent et tombent.
27:2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
27.3 Si une armée se campait contre moi, Mon coeur n'aurait aucune crainte; Si une guerre s'élevait contre moi, Je serais malgré cela plein de confiance.
27:3 Though an host should camp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
27.4 Je demande à l'Éternel une chose, que je désire ardemment: Je voudrais habiter toute ma vie dans la maison de l'Éternel, Pour contempler la magnificence de l'Éternel Et pour admirer son temple.
27:4 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.
27.5 Car il me protégera dans son tabernacle au jour du malheur, Il me cachera sous l'abri de sa tente; Il m'élèvera sur un rocher.
27:5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
27.6 Et déjà ma tête s'élève sur mes ennemis qui m'entourent; J'offrirai des sacrifices dans sa tente, au son de la trompette; Je chanterai, je célébrerai l'Éternel.
27:6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.
27.7 Éternel! écoute ma voix, je t'invoque: Aie pitié de moi et exauce-moi!
27:7 Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
27.8 Mon coeur dit de ta part: Cherchez ma face! Je cherche ta face, ô Éternel!
27:8 When you said, Seek all of you my face; my heart said unto you, Your face, LORD, will I seek.
27.9 Ne me cache point ta face, Ne repousse pas avec colère ton serviteur! Tu es mon secours, ne me laisse pas, ne m'abandonne pas, Dieu de mon salut!
27:9 Hide not your face far from me; put not your servant away in anger: you have been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
27.10 Car mon père et ma mère m'abandonnent, Mais l'Éternel me recueillera.
27:10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.
27.11 Éternel! enseigne-moi ta voie, Conduis-moi dans le sentier de la droiture, A cause de mes ennemis.
27:11 Teach me your way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
27.12 Ne me livre pas au bon plaisir de mes adversaires, Car il s'élève contre moi de faux témoins Et des gens qui ne respirent que la violence.
27:12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
27.13 Oh! si je n'étais pas sûr de voir la bonté de l'Éternel Sur la terre des vivants!...
27:13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
27.14 Espère en l'Éternel! Fortifie-toi et que ton coeur s'affermisse! Espère en l'Éternel!
27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen yours heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
28.1 Éternel! c'est à toi que je crie. Mon rocher! ne reste pas sourd à ma voix, De peur que, si tu t'éloignes sans me répondre, Je ne sois semblable à ceux qui descendent dans la fosse.
28:1 Unto you will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if you be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.
28.2 Écoute la voix de mes supplications, quand je crie à toi, Quand j'élève mes mains vers ton sanctuaire.
28:2 Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto you, when I lift up my hands toward your holy oracle.
28.3 Ne m'emporte pas avec les méchants et les hommes iniques, Qui parlent de paix à leur prochain et qui ont la malice dans le coeur.
28:3 Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.
28.4 Rends-leur selon leurs oeuvres et selon la malice de leurs actions, Rends-leur selon l'ouvrage de leurs mains; Donne-leur le salaire qu'ils méritent.
28:4 Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.
28.5 Car ils ne sont pas attentifs aux oeuvres de l'Éternel, A l'ouvrage de ses mains. Qu'il les renverse et ne les relève point!
28:5 Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.
28.6 Béni soit l'Éternel! Car il exauce la voix de mes supplications.
28:6 Blessed be the LORD, because he has heard the voice of my supplications.
28.7 L'Éternel est ma force et mon bouclier; En lui mon coeur se confie, et je suis secouru; J'ai de l'allégresse dans le coeur, Et je le loue par mes chants.
28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and with my song will I praise him.
28.8 L'Éternel est la force de son peuple, Il est le rocher des délivrances de son oint.
28:8 The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.
28.9 Sauve ton peuple et bénis ton héritage! Sois leur berger et leur soutien pour toujours!
28:9 Save your people, and bless yours inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.

30:9 What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise you? shall it declare your truth?

31.2 Incline vers moi ton oreille, hâte-toi de me secourir! Sois pour moi un rocher protecteur, une forteresse, Où je trouve mon salut!
31:2 Bow down yours ear to me; deliver me speedily: be you my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me.
31.3 Car tu es mon rocher, ma forteresse; Et à cause de ton nom tu me conduiras, tu me dirigeras.
31:3 For you are my rock and my fortress; therefore for your name's sake lead me, and guide me.

31:10 For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength fails because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.
31.11 Tous mes adversaires m'ont rendu un objet d'opprobre, De grand opprobre pour mes voisins, et de terreur pour mes amis; Ceux qui me voient dehors s'enfuient loin de moi.
31:11 I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.
31.12 Je suis oublié des coeurs comme un mort, Je suis comme un vase brisé.
31:12 I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.
31.13 J'apprends les mauvais propos de plusieurs, L'épouvante qui règne à l'entour, Quand ils se concertent ensemble contre moi: Ils complotent de m'ôter la vie.
31:13 For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.
31.14 Mais en toi je me confie, ô Éternel! Je dis: Tu es mon Dieu!
31:14 But I trusted in you, O LORD: I said, You are my God.
31.15 Mes destinées sont dans ta main; Délivre-moi de mes ennemis et de mes persécuteurs!
31:15 My times are in your hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.

31:19 Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for them that fear you; which you have wrought for them that trust in you before the sons of men!
31.20 Tu les protèges sous l'abri de ta face contre ceux qui les persécutent, Tu les protèges dans ta tente contre les langues qui les attaquent.
31:20 You shall hide them in the secret of your presence from the pride of man: you shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
31.21 Béni soit l'Éternel! Car il a signalé sa grâce envers moi, Comme si j'avais été dans une ville forte.
31:21 Blessed be the LORD: for he has showed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city.
31.22 Je disais dans ma précipitation: Je suis chassé loin de ton regard! Mais tu as entendu la voix de mes supplications, Quand j'ai crié vers toi.
31:22 For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before yours eyes: nevertheless you heard the voice of my supplications when I cried unto you.
31.23 Aimez l'Éternel, vous qui avez de la piété! L'Éternel garde les fidèles, Et il punit sévèrement les orgueilleux.
31:23 O love the LORD, all you his saints: for the LORD perserves the faithful, and plentifully rewards the proud doer.
31.24 Fortifiez-vous et que votre coeur s'affermisse, Vous tous qui espérez en l'Éternel!

32.1 Heureux celui à qui la transgression est remise, A qui le péché est pardonné!
32:1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
32.2 Heureux l'homme à qui l'Éternel n'impute pas d'iniquité, Et dans l'esprit duquel il n'y a point de fraude!
32:2 Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputes not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
32.3 Tant que je me suis tu, mes os se consumaient, Je gémissais toute la journée;
32:3 When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.
32.4 Car nuit et jour ta main s'appesantissait sur moi, Ma vigueur n'était plus que sécheresse, comme celle de l'été. -Pause.
32:4 For day and night your hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.
32.5 Je t'ai fait connaître mon péché, je n'ai pas caché mon iniquité; J'ai dit: J'avouerai mes transgressions à l'Éternel! Et tu as effacé la peine de mon péché. -Pause.
32:5 I acknowledge my sin unto you, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
32.6 Qu'ainsi tout homme pieux te prie au temps convenable! Si de grandes eaux débordent, elles ne l'atteindront nullement.
32:6 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto you in a time when you may be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.
32.7 Tu es un asile pour moi, tu me garantis de la détresse, Tu m'entoures de chants de délivrance. -Pause.
32:7 You are my hiding place; you shall preserve me from trouble; you shall compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
32.8 Je t'instruirai et te montrerai la voie que tu dois suivre; Je te conseillerai, j'aurai le regard sur toi.

32.10 Beaucoup de douleurs sont la part du méchant, Mais celui qui se confie en l'Éternel est environné de sa grâce.

32.11 Justes, réjouissez-vous en l'Éternel et soyez dans l'allégresse! Poussez des cris de joie, vous tous qui êtes droits de coeur!
32:11 Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, all of you righteous: and shout for joy, all you that are upright in heart.
33.1 Justes, réjouissez-vous en l'Éternel! La louange sied aux hommes droits.
33:1 Rejoice in the LORD, O all of you righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.
33.2 Célébrez l'Éternel avec la harpe, Célébrez-le sur le luth à dix cordes.

33.5 Il aime la justice et la droiture; La bonté de l'Éternel remplit la terre.
33:5 He loves righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.
33.6 Les cieux ont été faits par la parole de l'Éternel, Et toute leur armée par le souffle de sa bouche.
33:6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
33.7 Il amoncelle en un tas les eaux de la mer, Il met dans des réservoirs les abîmes.
33:7 He gathers the waters of the sea together as an heap: he lays up the depth in storehouses.
33.8 Que toute la terre craigne l'Éternel! Que tous les habitants du monde tremblent devant lui!
33:8 Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
33.9 Car il dit, et la chose arrive; Il ordonne, et elle existe.
33:9 For he spoke, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.
33.10 L'Éternel renverse les desseins des nations, Il anéantit les projets des peuples;
33:10 The LORD brings the counsel of the heathen to nothing: he makes the devices of the people of no effect.
33.11 Les desseins de l'Éternel subsistent à toujours, Et les projets de son coeur, de génération en génération.
33:11 The counsel of the LORD stands for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
33.12 Heureuse la nation dont l'Éternel est le Dieu! Heureux le peuple qu'il choisit pour son héritage!
33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance.
33.13 L'Éternel regarde du haut des cieux, Il voit tous les fils de l'homme;
33:13 The LORD looks from heaven; he beholds all the sons of men.
33.14 Du lieu de sa demeure il observe Tous les habitants de la terre,
33:14 From the place of his habitation he looks upon all the inhabitants of the earth.
33.15 Lui qui forme leur coeur à tous, Qui est attentif à toutes leurs actions.
33:15 He fashions their hearts alike; he considers all their works.
33.16 Ce n'est pas une grande armée qui sauve le roi, Ce n'est pas une grande force qui délivre le héros;
33:16 There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
33.17 Le cheval est impuissant pour assurer le salut, Et toute sa vigueur ne donne pas la délivrance.
33:17 An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.
33.18 Voici, l'oeil de l'Éternel est sur ceux qui le craignent, Sur ceux qui espèrent en sa bonté,
33:18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;
33.19 Afin d'arracher leur âme à la mort Et de les faire vivre au milieu de la famine.
33:19 To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
33.20 Notre âme espère en l'Éternel; Il est notre secours et notre bouclier.
33:20 Our soul waits for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.
33.21 Car notre coeur met en lui sa joie, Car nous avons confiance en son saint nom.
33:21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.

Psaumes 34 / De David. Lorsqu'il contrefit l'insensé en présence d'Abimélec, et qu'il s'en alla chassé par lui.
34.1 Je bénirai l'Éternel en tout temps; Sa louange sera toujours dans ma bouche.
34:1 I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
34.2 Que mon âme se glorifie en l'Éternel! Que les malheureux écoutent et se réjouissent!
34:2 My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
34.3 Exaltez avec moi l'Éternel! Célébrons tous son nom!
34:3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
34.4 J'ai cherché l'Éternel, et il m'a répondu; Il m'a délivré de toutes mes frayeurs.
34:4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
34.5 Quand on tourne vers lui les regards, on est rayonnant de joie, Et le visage ne se couvre pas de honte.
34:5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
34.6 Quand un malheureux crie, l'Éternel entend, Et il le sauve de toutes ses détresses.
34:6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
34.7 L'ange de l'Éternel campe autour de ceux qui le craignent, Et il les arrache au danger.
34:7 The angel of the LORD camps round about them that fear him, and delivers them.
34.8 Sentez et voyez combien l'Éternel est bon! Heureux l'homme qui cherche en lui son refuge!
34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusts in him.
34.9 Craignez l'Éternel, vous ses saints! Car rien ne manque à ceux qui le craignent.
34:9 O fear the LORD, all of you his saints: for there is no lack to them that fear him.
34.10 Les lionceaux éprouvent la disette et la faim, Mais ceux qui cherchent l'Éternel ne sont privés d'aucun bien.
34:10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing.
34.11 Venez, mes fils, écoutez-moi! Je vous enseignerai la crainte de l'Éternel.
34:11 Come, all of you children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
34.12 Quel est l'homme qui aime la vie, Qui désire la prolonger pour jouir du bonheur?
34:12 What man is he that desires life, and loves many days, that he may see good?

34.16 L'Éternel tourne sa face contre les méchants, Pour retrancher de la terre leur souvenir.
34:16 The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
34.17 Quand les justes crient, l'Éternel entend, Et il les délivre de toutes leurs détresses;
34:17 The righteous cry, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.

34:18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saves such as be of a contrite spirit.
34.19 Le malheur atteint souvent le juste, Mais l'Éternel l'en délivre toujours.
34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivers him out of them all.
34.20 Il garde tous ses os, Aucun d'eux n'est brisé.
34:20 He keeps all his bones: not one of them is broken.
34.21 Le malheur tue le méchant, Et les ennemis du juste sont châtiés.
34:21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
34.22 L'Éternel délivre l'âme de ses serviteurs, Et tous ceux qui l'ont pour refuge échappent au châtiment.
34:22 The LORD redeems the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
35.1 Éternel! défends-moi contre mes adversaires, Combats ceux qui me combattent!
35:1 Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.
35.2 Saisis le petit et le grand bouclier, Et lève-toi pour me secourir!
35:2 Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help.
35.3 Brandis la lance et le javelot contre mes persécuteurs! Dis à mon âme: Je suis ton salut!
35:3 Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am your salvation.
35.4 Qu'ils soient honteux et confus, ceux qui en veulent à ma vie! Qu'ils reculent et rougissent, ceux qui méditent ma perte!
35:4 Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.
35.5 Qu'ils soient comme la balle emportée par le vent, Et que l'ange de l'Éternel les chasse!
35:5 Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them.
35.6 Que leur route soit ténébreuse et glissante, Et que l'ange de l'Éternel les poursuive!
35:6 Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them.
35.7 Car sans cause ils m'ont tendu leur filet sur une fosse, Sans cause ils l'ont creusée pour m'ôter la vie.
35:7 For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have dug for my soul.
35.8 Que la ruine les atteigne à l'improviste, Qu'ils soient pris dans le filet qu'ils ont tendu, Qu'ils y tombent et périssent!
35:8 Let destruction come upon him at unexpectedly; and let his net that he has hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall.
35.9 Et mon âme aura de la joie en l'Éternel, De l'allégresse en son salut.
35:9 And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.
35.10 Tous mes os diront: Éternel! qui peut, comme toi, Délivrer le malheureux d'un plus fort que lui, Le malheureux et le pauvre de celui qui le dépouille?
35:10 All my bones shall say, LORD, who is like unto you, which deliver the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoils him?
35.11 De faux témoins se lèvent: Ils m'interrogent sur ce que j'ignore.
35:11 False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not.
35.12 Ils me rendent le mal pour le bien: Mon âme est dans l'abandon.
35:12 They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul.
35.13 Et moi, quand ils étaient malades, je revêtais un sac, J'humiliais mon âme par le jeûne, Je priais, la tête penchée sur mon sein.
35:13 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.
35.14 Comme pour un ami, pour un frère, je me traînais lentement; Comme pour le deuil d'une mère, je me courbais avec tristesse.
35:14 I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourns for his mother.
35.15 Puis, quand je chancelle, ils se réjouissent et s'assemblent, Ils s'assemblent à mon insu pour m'outrager, Ils me déchirent sans relâche;
35:15 But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: yea, the outcasts gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not:
35.16 Avec les impies, les parasites moqueurs, Ils grincent des dents contre moi.
35:16 With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.
35.17 Seigneur! Jusques à quand le verras-tu? Protège mon âme contre leurs embûches, Ma vie contre les lionceaux!
35:17 Lord, how long will you look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions.
35.18 Je te louerai dans la grande assemblée, Je te célébrerai au milieu d'un peuple nombreux.
35:18 I will give you thanks in the great congregation: I will praise you among much people.
35.19 Que ceux qui sont à tort mes ennemis ne se réjouissent pas à mon sujet, Que ceux qui me haïssent sans cause ne m'insultent pas du regard!
35:19 Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.
35.20 Car ils tiennent un langage qui n'est point celui de la paix, Ils méditent la tromperie contre les gens tranquilles du pays.
35:20 For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land.
35.21 Ils ouvrent contre moi leur bouche, Ils disent: Ah! ah! nos yeux regardent! -
35:21 Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye has seen it.
35.22 Éternel, tu le vois! ne reste pas en silence! Seigneur, ne t'éloigne pas de moi!
35:22 This you have seen, O LORD: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me.
35.23 Réveille-toi, réveille-toi pour me faire justice! Mon Dieu et mon Seigneur, défends ma cause!
35:23 Stir up yourself, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord.
35.24 Juge-moi selon ta justice, Éternel, mon Dieu! Et qu'ils ne se réjouissent pas à mon sujet!
35:24 Judge me, O LORD my God, according to your righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.
35.25 Qu'ils ne disent pas dans leur coeur: Ah! voilà ce que nous voulions! Qu'ils ne disent pas: Nous l'avons englouti!
35:25 Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up.
35.26 Que tous ensemble ils soient honteux et confus, Ceux qui se réjouissent de mon malheur! Qu'ils revêtent l'ignominie et l'opprobre, Ceux qui s'élèvent contre moi!
35:26 Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me.
35.27 Qu'ils aient de l'allégresse et de la joie, Ceux qui prennent plaisir à mon innocence, Et que sans cesse ils disent: Exalté soit l'Éternel, Qui veut la paix de son serviteur!
35:27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which has pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
35.28 Et ma langue célébrera ta justice, Elle dira tous les jours ta louange.
35:28 And my tongue shall speak of your righteousness and of your praise all the day long.
Psaumes 36 / Au chef des chantres. Du serviteur de l'Éternel, de David.
36.1 La parole impie du méchant est au fond de mon coeur; La crainte de Dieu n'est pas devant ses yeux.
36:1 The transgression of the wicked says within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.
36.2 Car il se flatte à ses propres yeux, Pour consommer son iniquité, pour assouvir sa haine.
36:2 For he flatters himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.
36.3 Les paroles de sa bouche sont fausses et trompeuses; Il renonce à agir avec sagesse, à faire le bien.
36:3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he has left off to be wise, and to do good.
36.4 Il médite l'injustice sur sa couche, Il se tient sur une voie qui n'est pas bonne, Il ne repousse pas le mal.
36:4 He devises mischief upon his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he detests not evil.
36.5 Éternel! ta bonté atteint jusqu'aux cieux, Ta fidélité jusqu'aux nues.
36:5 Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and your faithfulness reachs unto the clouds.
36.6 Ta justice est comme les montagnes de Dieu, Tes jugements sont comme le grand abîme. Éternel! tu soutiens les hommes et les bêtes.
36:6 Your righteousness is like the great mountains; your judgments are a great deep: O LORD, you preserve man and beast.
36.7 Combien est précieuse ta bonté, ô Dieu! A l'ombre de tes ailes les fils de l'homme cherchent un refuge.
36:7 How excellent is your loving kindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of your wings.
36.8 Ils se rassasient de l'abondance de ta maison, Et tu les abreuves au torrent de tes délices.
36:8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of your house; and you shall make them drink of the river of your pleasures.
36.9 Car auprès de toi est la source de la vie; Par ta lumière nous voyons la lumière.
36:9 For with you is the fountain of life: in your light shall we see light.
36.10 Étends ta bonté sur ceux qui te connaissent, Et ta justice sur ceux dont le coeur est droit!
36:10 O continue your loving kindness unto them that know you; and your righteousness to the upright in heart.
36.11 Que le pied de l'orgueil ne m'atteigne pas, Et que la main des méchants ne me fasse pas fuir!
36:11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.
36.12 Déjà tombent ceux qui commettent l'iniquité; Ils sont renversés, et ils ne peuvent se relever.
36:12 There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.
37.1 Ne t'irrite pas contre les méchants, N'envie pas ceux qui font le mal.
37:1 Fret not yourself because of evildoers, neither be you envious against the workers of iniquity.
37.2 Car ils sont fauchés aussi vite que l'herbe, Et ils se flétrissent comme le gazon vert.
37:2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
37.3 Confie-toi en l'Éternel, et pratique le bien; Aie le pays pour demeure et la fidélité pour pâture.
37:3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shall you dwell in the land, and verily you shall be fed.
37.4 Fais de l'Éternel tes délices, Et il te donnera ce que ton coeur désire.
37:4 Delight yourself also in the LORD: and he shall give you the desires of yours heart.
37.5 Recommande ton sort à l'Éternel, Mets en lui ta confiance, et il agira.
37:5 Commit your way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
37.6 Il fera paraître ta justice comme la lumière, Et ton droit comme le soleil à son midi.
37:6 And he shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your judgment as the noonday.
37.7 Garde le silence devant l'Éternel, et espère en lui; Ne t'irrite pas contre celui qui réussit dans ses voies, Contre l'homme qui vient à bout de ses mauvais desseins.
37:7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.
37.8 Laisse la colère, abandonne la fureur; Ne t'irrite pas, ce serait mal faire.
37:8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not yourself in any way to do evil.
37.9 Car les méchants seront retranchés, Et ceux qui espèrent en l'Éternel posséderont le pays.
37:9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
37.10 Encore un peu de temps, et le méchant n'est plus; Tu regardes le lieu où il était, et il a disparu.
37:10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, you shall diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.
37.11 Les misérables possèdent le pays, Et ils jouissent abondamment de la paix.
37:11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
37.12 Le méchant forme des projets contre le juste, Et il grince des dents contre lui.
37:12 The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes upon him with his teeth.
37.13 Le Seigneur se rit du méchant, Car il voit que son jour arrive.
37:13 The LORD shall laugh at him: for he sees that his day is coming.
37.14 Les méchants tirent le glaive, Ils bandent leur arc, Pour faire tomber le malheureux et l'indigent, Pour égorger ceux dont la voie est droite.
37:14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.
37.15 Leur glaive entre dans leur propre coeur, Et leurs arcs se brisent.
37:15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
37.16 Mieux vaut le peu du juste Que l'abondance de beaucoup de méchants;
37:16 A little that a righteous man has is better than the riches of many wicked.
37.17 Car les bras des méchants seront brisés, Mais l'Éternel soutient les justes.
37:17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholds the righteous.
37.18 L'Éternel connaît les jours des hommes intègres, Et leur héritage dure à jamais.
37:18 The LORD knows the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
37.19 Ils ne sont pas confondus au temps du malheur, Et ils sont rassasiés aux jours de la famine.
37:19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
37.20 Mais les méchants périssent, Et les ennemis de l'Éternel, comme les plus beaux pâturages; Ils s'évanouissent, ils s'évanouissent en fumée.
37:20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
37.21 Le méchant emprunte, et il ne rend pas; Le juste est compatissant, et il donne.
37:21 The wicked borrows, and pays not again: but the righteous shows mercy, and gives.
37.22 Car ceux que bénit l'Éternel possèdent le pays, Et ceux qu'il maudit sont retranchés.
37:22 For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.
37.23 L'Éternel affermit les pas de l'homme, Et il prend plaisir à sa voie;
37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delights in his way.
37.24 S'il tombe, il n'est pas terrassé, Car l'Éternel lui prend la main.
37:24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholds him with his hand.
37.25 J'ai été jeune, j'ai vieilli; Et je n'ai point vu le juste abandonné, Ni sa postérité mendiant son pain.
37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
37.26 Toujours il est compatissant, et il prête; Et sa postérité est bénie.
37:26 He is ever merciful, and lends; and his seed is blessed.
37.27 Détourne-toi du mal, fais le bien, Et possède à jamais ta demeure.
37:27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
37.28 Car l'Éternel aime la justice, Et il n'abandonne pas ses fidèles; Ils sont toujours sous sa garde, Mais la postérité des méchants est retranchée.
37:28 For the LORD loves judgment, and forsakes not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
37.29 Les justes posséderont le pays, Et ils y demeureront à jamais.
37:29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
37.30 La bouche du juste annonce la sagesse, Et sa langue proclame la justice.
37:30 The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, and his tongue talks of judgment.
37.31 La loi de son Dieu est dans son coeur; Ses pas ne chancellent point.
37:31 The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
37.32 Le méchant épie le juste, Et il cherche à le faire mourir.
37:32 The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to slay him.
37.33 L'Éternel ne le laisse pas entre ses mains, Et il ne le condamne pas quand il est en jugement.
37:33 The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
37.34 Espère en l'Éternel, garde sa voie, Et il t'élèvera pour que tu possèdes le pays; Tu verras les méchants retranchés.
37:34 Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt you to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.
37.35 J'ai vu le méchant dans toute sa puissance; Il s'étendait comme un arbre verdoyant.
37:35 I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
37.36 Il a passé, et voici, il n'est plus; Je le cherche, et il ne se trouve plus.
37:36 Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
37.37 Observe celui qui est intègre, et regarde celui qui est droit; Car il y a une postérité pour l'homme de paix.
37:37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
37.38 Mais les rebelles sont tous anéantis, La postérité des méchants est retranchée.
37:38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.
37.39 Le salut des justes vient de l'Éternel; Il est leur protecteur au temps de la détresse.
37:39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.
37.40 L'Éternel les secourt et les délivre; Il les délivre des méchants et les sauve, Parce qu'ils cherchent en lui leur refuge.
37:40 And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.
Psaumes 38 / Psaume de David. Pour souvenir.
38.1 Éternel! ne me punis pas dans ta colère, Et ne me châtie pas dans ta fureur.
38:1 O LORD, rebuke me not in your wrath: neither chasten me in your hot displeasure.
38.2 Car tes flèches m'ont atteint, Et ta main s'est appesantie sur moi.
38:2 For yours arrows stick fast in me, and your hand presses me sore.
38.3 Il n'y a rien de sain dans ma chair à cause de ta colère, Il n'y a plus de vigueur dans mes os à cause de mon péché.
38:3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of yours anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.
38.4 Car mes iniquités s'élèvent au-dessus de ma tête; Comme un lourd fardeau, elles sont trop pesantes pour moi.
38:4 For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
38.5 Mes plaies sont infectes et purulentes, Par l'effet de ma folie.
38:5 My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness.
38.6 Je suis courbé, abattu au dernier point; Tout le jour je marche dans la tristesse.
38:6 I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.
38.7 Car un mal brûlant dévore mes entrailles, Et il n'y a rien de sain dans ma chair.
38:7 For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh.
38.8 Je suis sans force, entièrement brisé; Le trouble de mon coeur m'arrache des gémissements.
38:8 I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the chaos of my heart.
38.9 Seigneur! tous mes désirs sont devant toi, Et mes soupirs ne te sont point cachés.
38:9 Lord, all my desire is before you; and my groaning is not hid from you.
38.10 Mon coeur est agité, ma force m'abandonne, Et la lumière de mes yeux n'est plus même avec moi.
38:10 My heart pants, my strength fails me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.
38.11 Mes amis et mes connaissances s'éloignent de ma plaie, Et mes proches se tiennent à l'écart.
38:11 My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand far off.
38.12 Ceux qui en veulent à ma vie tendent leurs pièges; Ceux qui cherchent mon malheur disent des méchancetés, Et méditent tout le jour des tromperies.
38:12 They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.
38.13 Et moi, je suis comme un sourd, je n'entends pas; Je suis comme un muet, qui n'ouvre pas la bouche.
38:13 But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that opens not his mouth.
38.14 Je suis comme un homme qui n'entend pas, Et dans la bouche duquel il n'y a point de réplique.
38:14 Thus I was as a man that hears not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.
38.15 Éternel! c'est en toi que j'espère; Tu répondras, Seigneur, mon Dieu!
38:15 For in you, O LORD, do I hope: you will hear, O Lord my God.
38.16 Car je dis: Ne permets pas qu'ils se réjouissent à mon sujet, Qu'ils s'élèvent contre moi, si mon pied chancelle!
38:16 For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slips, they magnify themselves against me.
38.17 Car je suis près de tomber, Et ma douleur est toujours devant moi.
38:17 For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.
38.18 Car je reconnais mon iniquité, Je suis dans la crainte à cause de mon péché.
38:18 For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.
38.19 Et mes ennemis sont pleins de vie, pleins de force; Ceux qui me haïssent sans cause sont nombreux.
38:19 But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.
38.20 Ils me rendent le mal pour le bien; Ils sont mes adversaires, parce que je recherche le bien.
38:20 They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is.
38.21 Ne m'abandonne pas, Éternel! Mon Dieu, ne t'éloigne pas de moi!
38:21 Forsake me not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from me.
38.22 Viens en hâte à mon secours, Seigneur, mon salut!
38:22 Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.
